Last patch they made it so there's an obsession in every match regardless of perks.

Another common thing some SWFs will do after rank reset is take turns playing a new rank 20 account so the group has a chance getting paired with lower ranked killers for easier wins.
That's been happening to me tonight. I get 3 purple rank survivors and like, one Rank 18 or something- all SWF. It's gross they abuse the system to pick on low rank Killers.

There's a weird angle survivors can get on the killer, I can't remember if it's to their left or right but for some reason you can blind them on this side and it might be slightly out of their FOV which is weird
It's gotta be, but that's BS. I was staring at a wall, and just heard the click and boom- blinded. Absolute shite.

Good ######### question.
I'm not even kidding. My partner was watching me play, and we both could not believe I was blinded (and stunned into dropping a survivor) when the survivor with the flashlight was nowhere in front of me. they were BEHIND me, at best- over my right shoulder. They were NOT in my field of vision.

Hi gamer. I started up in January without knowing anything about the game (after getting sick of another game I was playing being infested with cheaters) so I know exactly how you feel with regards to being frustrated as new killers get shoved into the deep end pretty fast.
I have a background in first person shooters so playing the killer perspective came a lot more naturally to me than it might for you so feel free to take these thoughts with a grain of salt:
- Playing killer is a time management simulator. You always want to choose the best time to cost ratio possible. This is why slugging and tunneling are effective tools and you shouldn't be dissuaded from using them. Ignoring time spent finding them or perks/items brought into the game or whatever, 4 survivors on 4 generators can get 4 of them done in 80 seconds. If they brought toolboxes or certain perks these generators are now done even faster. If they have a key, the hatch is now open. They can escape from the game on you in under 2 minutes if you don't find one and create pressure.
- Creating pressure is done by your choice of perks and killer. There's a reason Spirit/Nurse are considered extremely viable at all levels of play: mobility and the ability to give up perk lethality for perks that stall time. A typical build you might see these days is Corrupt/Pop/Ruin/BBQ. Or ruin/undying/tinkerer/pop. etc. Sometimes you'll see lethality builds like infectious fright/agitation/starstruck on them or undying/ruin/devour hope/etc. The important thing is to figure out your personal win condition and build your game's pressure around it. I personally avoid hex builds because I don't like to be dependent on RNG (and survivors seem to just know where the hexes are whenever I do experiment).
- Playing killer effectively is also a massive timesink. If you don't have BBQ, get BBQ. It's a decent information perk that generally lets you know where to go after a hook but also having the opportunity to double the amount of bloodpoints earned from a game is huge as Killers are a huge bloodpoint sink. With BBQ and survivor pudding a perfect game can net you something stupid like 96k bloodpoints.
- Going back to number 1, you don't have to be ethical with survivors. No one can tell you how to play the game. It's not real and a lot of the "survivors rulebook for killers" attitude that pervades the community is there because it's easy to demoralize one person into losing. Slug, tunnel, camp, be extra mean and vicious. A tilted survivor is a dead survivor (unless they have a bunch of second chance perks haha). Hell use Stridor on spirit. It's incredibly mean and effective.
- Versus SWFs I generally have two rules: if someone's leading me away from an area, I probably want to investigate in the exact opposite direction. And if someone's clicking a flashlight at me, there's someone nearby they're trying to protect. Try not to do what survivors want.
BBQ/Corr/2 extra perks are a wonderful base for learning how to play versus survivors especially swfs imho. Corr forces them out of their spawn area 95% of the time and gives you a general idea of where they're starting from i.e. if you spawn on the south side of the map and everything north of you has white generators, they probably started over there. If you start from the middle, then it's less reliable. Mobility on a killer is also super important. Playing trapper will teach you how to M1 but it won't actually win you games. Learning how to 3 gen and guard an area is not as good of a skill as learning how to be super aggressive with keys being as they are.
Other than that seeing as I don't know how you play I can't give you pointers on performance. Hopefully these tips/ideas help you out some. 8)
Really helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time to write that out. I do have Bubba, but I'm still leveling him up to make BBQ teachable.

No mean to disrespect but if you think you're facing a team of SWF as often as you are. You're not they were just better.
But a the same time if you're on pc with a graphics there's a way to turn on your brightness setting for DBD. It makes the killer experience 10 times better. Tbh take the flash light users in stride they actually waste their teams time trying to bait you. I have pstd against flash light users but if you know they're there they are always wasting time. Swap no ed for sloppy butcher.
Um tbh if you're getting tunneled that much as survivor I gotta say you probably aren't at red rank level. Which is the sad part about the survivor experience. You can rank up by just doing basic objectives. The times I've tunneled recently as killer I more often happen to stumble upon them from often than not and they always are the worst rank out of everyone. Even when ranking up I've noticed the higher ranks generally always get out more. Not cause they are better loopers, but cause they chose paths I won't be at. I patrol gens randomly as wraith and they seem to know about the places I won't go to.
-I'm playing on PS4
- Trust me, it was not an easy grind thru Solo survivor to get to red ranks. I said "camping/tunneling" broadly. I didn't say I was the one experiencing this every match. The thing with Solo, that if 2 of your team mates get camped/tunneled, you're kind of screwed. They WILL d/c or hook suicide. But sure! I'm totes lying bout my rank in an online game forum. Thanks for your help!
-
If you have the time to slug all 4 survivors, and one/more of those survivors had the time to pick themselves up using Unbreakable + heal others, then you had PLENTY of time to hook at least one of them, probably two.

You do realize hooking takes time? Why do most of the people who post in this forum constantly show they don't even play the game?
Dude it was a legit question, JFC why all salty over it?
So if the rest of us don't slug everyone "we Just DOnT Play tHE GAME". Why even post if you can't handle basic feedback or questions?
-
Why are you slugging all four survivors instead of hooking some?
-
Yep. Sounds like my games. I stopped playing Solo survivor like, days ago. I just can't take the BS anymore lol. Constant camping/proxy camping/tunneling. They all seem to be able to get to red ranks doing that, so I guess that's the game now. Also, a bizarre uptick in survivor working with Killer scenarios.
There's no point anymore for me, so I'm just trying to play Killer now.
-
Solo queue is incredibly difficult atm. I dropped from Rank 2-3 to Rank 6-7 by camping/tunneling Killers in the last week alone. It seems SWF and Killers keep getting buffed so the two respective groups are balanced, but Solo survivors are never considered in anything.
If a Killer finds you in a locker and you've left no scratchmarks, no disrespect intended, but it's nothing supernatural. The Killer most likely heard the squeak of the locker doors. If it is just uncanny that they are finding you, I'd consider it an aura reading hack rather than a witch, yanno?
-
I started using Bloodwarden because I got tired of waiting for survivors to leave. No regrets. The other day a Kate was injured, but teabagging me at the exit gate and she had no idea I was running it until it was too late LOL. So satisfying. Only one of them lived.
-
Yesterday I was being chased by a Pig, I vaulted over a pallet, clearly landed on the other side, took a running step and somehow the Pig grabbed me and yanked me back over the pallet.
I get grabs. I've grabbed many a survivor playing Killer. But that was just laughable.
Not only that, but I was in Crotus and Trickster was literally hitting me through a wall somehow. His knives kept coming and I was in the building and he wasn't LOL.

There's a difference between memorizing spots. And totems have spawns that are right next to gens. On top of hills/right next to gens. And out in the open covered by nothing
Yeah, that's why I stated "sometimes"
-
Same. It's ever since the DS nerf (I never used it much before the nerf, but I damn sure use it now). It's constant. I just tried to play DBD for awhile as a Solo , and after two matches, 2 depips- both Killers hard-camped and tunneled so survivors just started disconnecting or hook suicide.
I've just given up. I played two matches. Both the same shite- turned it off lol.
-
There are survivors like me that use Inner Strength most matches, and once upon a time I always equipped Detective's Hunch. I gradually became familiar with where totems could possibly spawn on most maps. Now I don't need to run DH anymore to find most of them. My point is, maybe sometimes they spawn in obvious places, but it's also possible a survivor actively looks for them like me.

I don't know where all of these lobbies are that have continual face-camping/ tunneling killers -- that's almost unbelievably bad luck (I guess).
I play 20-25 hours a week of survivor with anything ranging from a 2-person SWF to a 4-person SWF and pretty much never see a face-camper. Tunneling is occasionaly a hazard (I do run DS for a reason, as do most of my teammates), but while it happens here and there, it's definitely not every match (this is at Red Rank -- my assumption is that the ranks further down, it's much more of a problem.
I played almost 14 hours on Thursday, 8 and a half of which was as survivor. There was the occasional tunnel of either myself or my teammates, and the occasional area camper, but zero face campers. As said, I haven't seen a face-camper in one of my matches for literally months, and I play a TON.
I play Solo survivor almost exclusively- or else I play with one friend but we don't communicate (so the only advantage is that I won't be left to die on my first hook by lousy team mates).
The past 2 weeks have been atrocious for both of us when it comes to camping and tunneling. I dropped 3 Ranks because of it (from Rank 3 to Rank 6). It's just about every single game now. And I'm not being generous or broad when I describe camping/tunneling. I mean a Killer staying mere paces from the hook and waiting for the rescue, then chasing down the freshly unhooked survivor immediately, even beyond Borrowed Time, even if they eat a DS.
A LOT of these Killers were Rank 1. Deathslinger? Hooks his first survivor and just walks away from the hook, waits and aims. Wraith? Well I have never seen a Wraith who doesn't just cloak a few paces from the hook. Ghostface? Stealths by the hook behind a rock, exposes the unhooked survivor, downs immediately. Huntress? Stands on a hill aiming an axe at the hook.
And who hasn't heard of a tunneling Spirit?
The problem for Solos is not just the fact we can't communicate with team mates around scummy tactics like this, is that it's an guaranteed de-pip because those strangers we're grouped with *immediately disconnect*. Or kill themselves on the hook. Last night we had a basement camping Oni, and 2 survivors disconnected at the same time because they were just done with it. So my friend and I are left in an impossible situation ( 4 generators left, like we're gonna get out). Yet this Oni tries to slug us both. God forbid we get any unhook points.
I feel bad because I'm the one who introduced this game to my friend, and now he's too irritated to carry on. What's the point? It's the same crap game after game.
Solo survivors are just the forgotten filler material between the Killer/SWF. SWF has a tremendous advantage over Killers. So Killers change tactics and get buffed to be able to oppose them (as they should!). But Solos just fall between the cracks, and I often feel like Behaviour is just throwing Solos to the Killers to keep them coming back because compared to SWF, they're easy to decimate.
-
I've been playing Killer a lot more recently because I'm just about done with Solo survivor queue (it's just nothing but misery with constant camping and tunneling). I'm only Rank 12, but I understand feeling demoralized by SWF groups. Today I had to put the controller down and go lift weights for awhile because I encountered my first SWF flashlight bully squad. I down my first survivor and literally 3 of them were blinding me from all angles constantly.
The other problem is how there are always red rank survivors slumming it with their lower rank friends so they can ensure a low rank Killer. I didn't have a single match today without a red rank survivor in the Lobby. Usually, there would be a Rank 1, a Rank 4, one in greens (my level) and one around 13. I'm a red rank survivor myself, and I have never, ever teabagged a Killer I knew was obviously a much lower rank than I behind a pallet, or at a gen like we saw in your video. I don't teabag regardless usually because it's rude, but doing it while knowing your taunting someone who is obviously still learning makes you a scumbag imo.
That being said, what might have helped you in this scenario is to learn when the red rank looper is baiting you to chase them so they waste your time. That happened to you being looped thru the double windows and the shack. Some of these jackasses will also spam click their flashlights at you to annoy you into following them because they know every strong loop on the map, or they're on PC and have more mobility than console (360's). Don't take the bait no matter how annoying they are. In order to be matched with you, they need to go in with at least one potato friend, and they will do everything to get you away from them. So pick off the weak if you can. Sometimes it can snowball because SWF are uber altruistic.
If all else fails and they're toxic as hell (I mean worse than above, which were mildly irritating, because they do get far far worse), you can start on the scummy tactics yourself. I did for the first time today because I had just had it with the abuse of the matchmaking system (or maybe not abuse, but how crap it can be), and I went into one match on Spirit and the survivors started dancing around me with flashlights, doing gens right in my face as I was on one of their friends- tea bagging me at every turn. But I caught the first one, and a friend tried unhooking him in my face just after one of his team mates broke Haunted Ground (everyone was exposed). Downed the second one- I camped the ######### out of those 2 hooks. I showed no mercy. Was someone rescued fresh off the hook? Oh well! Down you go.
Ended up with 2k, 2 disconnects. Of course there are SWFs that are just a few friends playing a game together. But all too often, the fun they have seems to be at the Killer's expense. Not because they all escape, but just the rudeness and unnecessary crap they do to show off etc.

If he caught you out while cloaked he's should to get the hit or else his stealth would be as useless as it was before they made windstorm basekit...The first time!(The mini sprint burst from stealth was the old windstorm add-on's effect).
I hear pug noises, start running, then he uncloaks and gets a hit. Idk, bro. I'm not mad, just saying I find the lunge really hard to get away from. It's not an attack.
-
He basically gets a free hit now. I've done everything to avoid that first uncloak hit but it's almost impossible unless I use Sprint Burst.

You want solo queue to be even more miserable than it already is???
I was just going to say the same thing lol. Solo survivor can be the most hopeless, miserable experience this game has to offer haha. If you made it even more difficult, the game would be left with nothing but Killers vs SWF
-
I've had one too many experiences of a Killer pretending to carry me to the hatch, only to drop me and slam it in my face. It happens all the time. Maybe the survivor didn't want to take a chance.
-
I usually let go whoever was the odd man out. For example, today I had a Lobby where 2 survivors pulled a last second swap out to two matching Yun Jin's with flashlights and the toxicity began right away. Constant clicking, baiting, blinding- trying to dazzle me with their footwork. There was also a Jeff, who went right along with them but was less obnoxious.
The fourth was this poor little goblin face Quentin. He was obviously not as experienced, and was basically was a solo filler material to this 3 man SWF (I think it was). As soon as I hooked one of the Yun Jins, she/he immediately disconnected. End game comes about, I have the second Yun Jin hooked, the Quentin is slugged and the Jeff doesn't even try to help either of them. He just leaves. So I carried him to the door and let him crawl out. I'm only a Rank 12 Killer, and in the end game stats, 3 of these people were Rank 5-6, and the poor Quentin was a Rank 19. I have no clue how that fiasco game about in the matchmaking.
I'll let people go if I feel sorry for them, if I think they got shafted by crummy team mates, and finally if they make me laugh. Like when Jake crouches and looks up at you like a sloth lol.
-
You hit green ranks and Killers started to camp.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it will only get worse. When I first started this game, I was constantly told; "No one camps in red ranks! Camping is for noobs!". Lo and behold, I'm red rank and the camping/tunneling is basically 8/10 matches. It's constant and miserable. I don't buy that it's to slow down gens, because the method of counter everyone states is to "just do genzz". If that's the case, hard-camping the first hook would only accelerate generators being done if survivors left the person on the hook, and that person stuck it out the entire time.
What is really happening, is the Killer hard camps the first hook and stays around it hoping that survivors feel bad for person hanging there. We all have day jobs/lives and when we get time for video games, hanging on a hook looking into the character controlled by some pimply faced 16 year old as a Wraith ringing his bell constantly face-camping is not the way we want to spend that down time. So everyone gets annoyed, and says; "Screw this goddam game and the small-d jackasses who camp" and just kamikaze to try and at least let that survivor on the hook know that we all empathize. And that's how the Killer gets brainless, easy downs. It's basically farming Solo survivors for points in between the matches with SWF's who actually stand a chance.
I'm playing a lot of Killer recently, and I do my best to not camp and tunnel from early game, and it's a LOT more challenging. You actually have to learn ######### and feel the bitter taste of defeat. I'm still learning so I'm a lower rank, and constantly matched with red rank survivors queueing up with one low rank friend so they can manipulate the system. It's really tempting to camp. It would be so much easier. Yet I don't because it's cheap and that's not how I want to win.
-
Slugging at 5 gens is just a miserable experience for the survivors to be fair, especially if they're Solo. Solo survivor is already probably the least fun aspect of DBD and are at a pretty substantial disadvantage already. Though this might explain why I see multiple disconnects and hook suicides whenever I load into a match and the Killer is Twins due to overall scumbag tactics.
If they were SWF I wouldn't care because they have a tremendous advantage that Solos don't and could have coordinated around it.

Had a nurse who killed everyone but me. One person was on struggle and she had just picked me up. I started wiggling to which she dropped me and shook her head 'No' then swung her weapon and picked me up again. I thought it meant she was gonna give me a hatch.
We sat and waited while she just stared at the person struggle. They died all the way, the nurse walked all around the map to find the hatch just to drop me again and closed it. Then put me on the hook.
#########' psycho yo.
Pretty sure the Killers who act like that wear their mother's underwear while painting the nails of the human hand collection in their freezer.
-
I feel your pain as a fellow Solo queue survivor. It`s just been hell today. The level of camping and tunneling has been asinine. You would think a Rank 1 hillbilly wouldn`t need to camp his first hook at 5 gens, but there he was.
Then the Wraith of course, because all Wraiths camp in my personal experience. I even said to my partner who was watching as I was going for a hook save; " Whelp, it's a Wraith. And if I know my Wraiths, he'll be cloaked right behind that wall, just steps from the hook". *Bing Bong** and my partner cracked up.
Then just now when I gave up playing for the evening, I had to deal with a Steve running along side a Spirit, pointing at me. So they were both chasing me, working together. I realized how much I hate the new second stage hook struggle because I couldnt kill myself to get out of the damn match. Then the Spirit stopped hooking me and left me slugged so she and Steve could pick off the Meg, and Grandpa decided to take the penalty and disconnected.
So I fell 2 ranks. Remind me not to play at night when the teenage sociopaths are staying up late until their Mom yells at them to go to bed lol.

I really enjoy the reactions and actions of others' during game. There is always that thrill when you mindgame someone as killer/survivor and manage to either get away/down someone who was really great. Gives you a feeling of empowerment that other games seem to lack. Everyone remembers there first jumpscare on here or meeting a Hag for the first time and triggering a trap before almost shitting themselves lol; or a Myers grabbing them off of a gen or watching him, watching you while he's staring at you through a small window lol. It's these moments that keep us coming back. Even if you have a ton of stressful games, one really fun match can change your entire demeanor in a positive light. Not every match will be great or super fun but when you get that 1 match that just fills you with so much enjoyment, it makes it all worth it.
Yeah you have a few good points. I'm a chill kind of gamer, so I think i find the sweat off-putting sometimes. But then you get a game where the stars align, and everyone in it are funny people, and that's what I think I keep coming back for.

Every single Trickster I've ever faced has done nothing but camp and tunnel.
Hook someone, go a bit away from the hook, and then a shower of knives at the hook. Rinse, repeat.
-
I hate the Backwater Swamp maps. They're so dark and monotone.
-
I think people just get annoyed when you have a SWF flashlight bully squad in a match. I'm still learning Killer so I'm by now means good at it yet, but I'm often matched with a lobby where only one survivor is around my Rank (like Rank 13), and the others are red and purple ranks. I've had times where all they do is constantly flash me trying to blind me regardless of whether they're making saves or not. I know I'm still new at Killer, and being on console I have problems hitting PC survivors that do 360's and seem to have more mobility, but they don't have to be asses about it.
If you're using the flashlight as intended, that's not trashy. It can still be annoying for a Killer, but it's a part of the game.
-
Isn't that just chance though? I can't count how many times I've lunged through a window, have landed on the other side with Lithe, and starting to run and the Killer somehow hits me from the other side of the wall lol. If it's Huntress, her axe can hit me around a corner, through a wall, board a subway, knock on my door and down me.
-
I tried the Lucky Break/Iron Will combo just to see what the fuss was about, and I don't see why anyone would be concerned over it. 45 seconds at most, helps a survivor escape ONE chase. And Lucky Break still ticks away when you're healing (which I think is dumb). Then it's dead the rest of the match. It was kind of nice the few matches I tried it because it did help me get away from a tunneling Killer, but it's not worth the perk slot when it lasts so little.
I reverted back to my same 'ol perks after a few matches.

I lurk on these forums frequently but rarely ever post anything. I tried to get involved in this community but most of my posts are ignored or received negatively, so I stopped contributing. However, I often see threads on this topic, and the result is almost always the same: a firestorm of everybody calling everybody else intolerant because they hold different beliefs. I feel compelled to join in this time because I really enjoy this game and want it to stay alive as long as possible. So what I'd like to do is try to bring up some logical points that often get overlooked in threads like these.
Have you considered that the reason the devs haven't included this representation yet is because they can't? Look at it this way: if they make a survivor trans, doesn't that promote violence against the trans community? You are hunting down a trans person with the objective of killing them, after all. Conversely, were a killer to be made trans, would that not imply that trans people are mentally deranged psychos? You might disregard these examples as exaggeration, but people will see it that way. It's like a trap set by looney toons activist groups. Once the keyboard warriors latch on to that, the game will be cancelled for sure. I've been around on the internet long enough to know that someone, somewhere will be offended and take the inclusion out of context, even if it is done with the best intentions. And yeah, you could apply that to "People targeting Tapp just don't like black people" if you wanted to, but I think that's a false equivalency. Oh and by the way, let's not forget about them having to release two separate versions of the game, one of which does NOT include representation, because they would lose markets in parts of the world that are not accepting of representation. Believe it or not, some places on Earth are not so accepting of these communities as others (and maybe that's where you should be demanding change).
Additionally, look at how this thread has devolved. Look at any previous thread about inclusion and witness the chaos this topic brings. It happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. "Everyone but me is a bigot", right? Get real. Do you think the devs and mods want to deal with that headache on a daily basis? People cannot remain civil regarding this topic and it seems to me that the devs and mods just wouldn't want to deal with boycotts and cancel culture in addition to everything else they have on their plates. What happens if they include the representation you wanted, but didn't do it in "the right way"? That would cause way worse problems.
Another point is that the devs will never be able to satisfy everybody. New identities and classifications are contrived on a daily basis. Sure, they could have a rainbow flag charm. But why not a trans flag charm? Why not an asexual flag charm? And so on and so forth until the end of time. It may sound insensitive, and I certainly don't mean it to be, but this is coming from someone who played Overwatch at the height of their "lore enhancements". I have seen how the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" scenario plays out in most every form of media that attempts to appeal to everyone. Somebody once told me "Obama wasn't black enough". That just blew my mind, but I think it's a good example of how the world is today. Nothing will ever be good enough when it comes to representation, so long as there is one person who feels excluded.
This final section is personal. I think seeking representation in media is dumb. Now, I am not willing to reveal identifying information about myself on the internet, but I will tell you that I am very rarely represented in media and when I am it is typically a negative representation. I do not seek characters that REPRESENT me, rather, I seek characters that APPEAL to me. I mostly play as Bill in this game, despite not being a Vietnam vet. I just like Bill because he's Bill. I don't play as Clown because I'm a clown, I just like how he laughs and coughs all the time. I think it's unrealistic to demand that the world change to suit you and your wants. I understand wanting to relate to a character, but I do not understand the need to have relatability in a game with very little narrative and has little influence on the gameplay. The characters are mostly blank slates, why not just make them who you want them to be in your own mind? Why would you force your beliefs on someone who does not share them? Isn't that a little... dare I say it... intolerant?
Please do not misunderstand my statement as a protest against inclusion. It's not like Jake wanting to see Ace naked is going to impact the gameplay (I would hope). People are what they are. I dislike people in general and have difficulty relating to and understanding them. I am more concerned about the longevity and health of the game than representation. It is possible that in trying to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one. I don't want this game to end up in a Battlefield V situation. Dead By Daylight is a unique game, and one that I quite enjoy. It is in fact the ONLY multiplayer game that I still play consistently. I would hate for it to die off early because of a short-sighted miscalculation brought on by peer pressure or mob mentality.
However this works out, I'm sure it'll be aldwight. But please, stop firebombing each other on a freaking video game forum. Some of us just want to play the game and have a good time.
You said a lot of the stuff I wanted to but was too lazy or too clumsy with words to articulate.

Hoooonnneeeeyyy you need Trixie Mattel as her own killer, forget lady bunny.

Her power is throwing shade and everybody just dies
Permit me a moment to brag but my partner and I met Katya in real life at a club.
We're Russian immigrants (to Canada) and just to put it out there- Katya actually doesn't speak Russian LOL. He couldn't understand us at all when we spoke it to him ( because we thought maybe he did). Just as funny and likeable irl though.

I can understand where you're coming from, but some things in life are just straight up right or wrong. I'm sure even serial killers are nice to their mothers - doesn't mean they are 'otherwise good people'.
Hating someone for who they are because you don't agree with it due to religious indoctrination, cultural upbringing, or just plain ignorance is just fundamentally wrong and people who behave that way, and express those 'opinions' should be left for dust if they show absolutely no intention of evolving. Sometimes you just have to stand up and tell people they are straight up wrong and if they won't change they get out of your life. Obviously you will just see this as my opinion and take offense at being told that your opinion was wrong, but there are some things that really ARE that black or white.
Your trans friend was right to drop you as a friend.
Some of them even wear their mothers

Well, I for one, would love a 4 man SWF dressed like the village people.
100% agree with that inclusion.
Also, I want Bubba to have a Lady Bunny skin

As a gay man, I hope they do it right.
A nice nod to their sexuality in their backstory would make me abundantly happy, nothing big, nothing that defines that character, just a glance at their sexuality i.e "his/her/their boyfriend etc".
This would be good. A mention in a background. Perfect. I'm just always afraid that when they try to add such a thing, people are never happy. Either the character *looks too gay*. Or *doesn't look gay enough*.

But you want the truth? I find people get overly hostile in these convos. And that's the problem. If anyone pushes back, or God forbid, questions the Rainbow they get inundated with accusations and venom. And yeah, it makes me cringe because I feel people should be able to speak freely without a woke mob coming for them.
I just want to ask- what arguments do you have against adding lgbtq+ representation into DBD, or media in general? Are there any arguments against it, or do you just not like it through some gut feeling?
If this was a genuine question, I'll try and answer it the best I can.
Of course, I have nothing against adding someone non-hetero into games/media. Why would I? My issue is how it sometimes comes about and how it reflects on the gay community. I personally don't think sexual orientation is relevant in DBD. But when the topic comes up in situations like this, anyone who states anything against the notion of suddenly making sexual orientation relevant, often gets met with anger, insults and false accusations of bigotry/homophobia etc.
These topics make me wince sometimes because I don't like seeing regular people who are not homophobic in the slightest labeled as such dishonestly because they have an opinion someone doesn't like. It makes the whole discussion of inclusion hostile, and makes people resentful when it's brought up in the future.
So I can understand why some gay people would like to see more characters that *just happen to be gay/bi etc*. I would too, but I'd like to see this come about authentically. Like a show/game that was written that way originally. I think people have issues when it's forced into things largely irrelevant because it can come across as a political demand by the mob. Unfortunately, a lot of this stuff is very politically charged these days whether we like it or not- and a lot of us just want hobbies where we don't have to think about politics.
I've been writing this intermittently so if it's not perfectly coherent, sorry!

Don't come into a discussion, call the people discussing it cringe, then back away when people don't like being called cringe??
I didn't call YOU cringe. I said these topics sometimes make me cringe.

I know I'm a bad Gay who indulged in wrong think, so I'll just sit back and wait for the bombardment of outrage.

I mean.. you were the one attacking here..
and yes BHVR is based in Canada/Montreal.
My opinion isn't an attack on you. Anyways, much like most people, I'm just gonna back away from this now. It's not worth it.
-
To the 3 who jumped on me immediately, I'm fine with how @Orion put it- that wondering when a character will be released if it was promised, no problem. I find that reasonable. It's just that these threads always devolve into attack/defense scenarios. Or if people who aren't homophobic in the slightest god forbid, disagrees, they can often get accused of being a bigot when *they really really aren't*.
Maybe I'm spoiled living in Canada (isn't Behavior Canadian?).
-
As a gay person myself, whenever these topics come up I just cringe and want to crawl under a rock and hide.
Gay people get hooked and die the same way as straight people. A gay sociopathic killer is just as murder-y. I couldn't care less to have "representation" in the pool of people running for their lives from a chainsaw wielding freak.
I'm so sick of the militant push by a small minority of people to shove to rainbow into everything lol.
