Camping is lazy and not an efficient tactic for killers.
There are times it is the correct move, for instance you get two hooked right next to each other. Or as you said 3 gens left and survivor hooked in the middle of them. But as an overall strategy, you will lose more games than you win against good survivors.
Ofcourse, against silly survivors that keep hook rushing while you are in proximity, well then the onus is on them.
-
I try to be kind when playing without cucking myself.
But is always blows my mind when you have two survivors hooked right next to each other and no one on bbq.
Then it is you're a camper. Like do you not see the value here?
lm at least getting to second stage before I move.
-
Had that conce, but it was a demogordan.
I have never, nor will ever, farm again.
Do gennys and jet!

i with you there 2nd chances perks i was disagree with someone i copypaste what they said < what i was saying
Oh, got ya!!

I don't think it is that bad. You could have been an 8 at the start as well, although it looks like you should have pipped
Also everyone's score is pretty good, which to me suggests you gave them a fair fun game.
You may have gotten a few kills with less fun tactics.
A rank 8 killer to me, is a at the skill level of a red rank survivor based on how much harder killer is than survivor.
With that said the post game bm is bs and that says more about their character then skill level.
In game bm is a tactic used to distract you , dont fall for it, play your game.

DS: you have to be hooked in the first place... what second chance are you getting?< not being hooked 2nd and 3rd time survivors have to be hooked 3 time
BT: if killers are away from the hook it won't activate... where's the second chance (side note if I'm running STBFL I'll hit you anyway)<survivor take other survivor off hook in killers face happens alot to me
Unbreakable: you lost the chase and have an oppertunity to pick yourself up... Barely a second chance>,more 2nd chance when used with other perks
DH: you lose the first half of a chase to be able to dodge an attack... Not exactly a second chance>have not to say about it.
Adrenaline: end game perk... What second chance do you get if yer dead before the end game starts?>same as DH but i run noed sometime kills Adrenaline
I have to disagree here, these are indeed all second chances and sometimes cover up bad gameplay.
DS, you lost another chase and then effectively gained and extra hook state by DSing the killer. Who also gets a stun penalty.
BT is down right op when exit gates are open or when you got a survivor in the basement and are starting to gain momentum. It alo protects unsafe unhooks, even going so far as to reward the points for a safe unhook, which they didn't perform
Unbreakable, once again you lose a chase, and now you get to get up and run away, undoing the momentum the killer has build up by slugging you. Plus if on comms your team doesn't even have to stop doing gennys.
DH is really dangerous on good loopers. Getting to that next safe pallet could significantly add to a chase, robbing the killer of the hook and perhaps pop that was needed in that moment.
Adrenaline is a heal at the end of the game and a huge sprint advantage. Once again a perk that can be really strong when on comms and doing those last second adrenaline saves.

I get how annoying DS and Unbreakable is but the idea of a second chance perk isn't necessarily bad is it? Case in point borrowed time. When someone uses it they are mostly to counter camping and tunneling killer right? At that point the second chance is needed for the survivor because the survivor off the hook can be really powerless against a killer like that. In my opinion its used to counter an unfair and unfun play style
So you would agree with that same logic for Noed?

My point has allways been that a rank 1 spirit is way stronger than 4 rank 1 survivors, and that its not fun going against her, most of the people here have said "try her first, use her and tell us" first game ever with level 1 perks, i leveld her up just for this post, at rank 1 i got a merciless without sweating, I had to sweat for my nurse adept, shes not a "high skill" killer and how her power works is objectivaly unfun to play against. if a high skill nurse steamrolls my solo queue group I dont get mad or frustrated, they were better, my point is Spirit isn't skillfull.
It is certainly an opinion. Any killer takes some skill, some are just more powerful than others.
Don't think we disagree that much, you just seem intent on offending those that play spirit.

First time playing spirit with addons and more than 1 perk. at rank 1, Merciless killer, they were a SWF. easiest adept of my life, sounds are also "broken" in this patch. lmao. so fun and interactive for the survivors. I filmed the entire match too and it was on cowshed.
Don't see how this furthers the discussion. Very small sample size first off.
Secondly, I don't think anyone is denying she is a strong killer.
Lastly, you are a rank 1 killer, so you have the skill set of being a good killer already. So you used those skills, and funneled them through her power which gave you a 4k.
None of this deviates from anything I have said.

So you can't argue any single one of his points? Deathslinger, spirit etc are objectively badly designed killers that remove any input for survivors to react and play against, which makes them boring to go against, and Scott Is one of the best killer mains out there. he got a 30 winstreak at rank 1 with speed limiter bubba.
I'm not watching is my point. I don't know any of his points.
You want to regurgitate some streamers opinion to me, then perhaps I could discuss with you, but as of now I don't know him or his thoughts.

I know how to play against her, as long as im not injured or run Iron Will I can run a bad Spirit for quite some time at rank "1", usually ends in getting facecamped and called toxic by the killer in the endgame chat.
I agree with this. Play her and you can beat her.
People say no skill, but you are constantly predicting and reading the environment, more so than perhaps any other killer.
With that said, understanding that she is probably going to the most likely spot a survivor is going to go, is her big weakness. Go somewhere else. And please dont fall for that standing still crap, hit the next loop.
And iron will rocks against all killers, it is in my standard build, play it.

thats a fair point and I would agree on that. Spirit and Freddy are my least favorite killers to go against, Ghostface gets a dishonorable mention for being poorly coded, and Deathslinger with MAA is kinda cancerous too when the killer is good at quckscoping and or uses a built in crosshair in their monitor.
So anyone that is competitive? I'm guessing god tier nurses stick in your craw as well.
-
I bring a medkit for a guaranteed minimum of 1 heal.
But I run DH and iron will, so I play injured a lot.
Sometimes end up using that medkit on a downed survivor, and out the door we go!
-
There is a vast difference between a rank 15 spirit and a rank 1 spirit.
Is it easier to be a rank 1 spirit than a rank 1 trapper, probably.
But I am of the opinion that you should have a nice Corvette to take out when you are tired of chugging your way down the highway in an old dodge.
She is powerful and so is a coordinated 4 man swf.
Is it harder to be a solo survivor than a swf, probably.
But if you can play either role, and play it well, you will have more success in the more powerful role.

- i may try her out in kyf first
- billy got nerfed and nurse has a high skill floor
- im new to the game so i go off what i have watched and experienced
- that's an exaggeration
Billy got nerfed but like the spirit, good Billys will still perform at a high level. You can't have the ability to just camp people to death with instadowns in the game.
Nurse, does indeed require skill, but you complained about pay to win, she is a play to win killer, that breaks the game when you hit the skill ceiling.
Your own skill will improve as you play, and you will be astonished at the things you no longer fall for, as at you ability to read crows, scratches, blood trails, etc.
Maybe 1% is an exaggeration, but surely it is not more than 5%

@ToxicMyers said:

i never said all killers should be the same, they should have differences. But when there is one good killer among all the weak ones that shouldn't be happening. Yes some killers are better than others and that goes back to my og comment saying that's pay to win because the DLC killers are better than the free cast. Also i may try buying her once i gain enough shards.
I would recommend buying her because she is awesome, and my go to when I suspect a 4 man swf.
But Billy and Nurse are not pay to play and are in the top killers in the game.
Also individual skill can negate some of the advantages survivors have.
But a well coordinated 4 man is probably the strongest thing in the game, and I'd argue as it should be. But you're talking about 1% of the player base.
-
@ToxicMyers said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1434479#Comment_1434479
like i said later in the og comment i said not everyone has the time and effort to buy DLC killers and level them up so you get a good loadout. Also playing a op killer shouldn't be an answer to an unbalanced playing field between killer and survivor
I dont see how every killer can be expected to have the same strength. This always baffles me.
I understand the desire for all killers to be equal strength, but as I have said before, different powers are inherently stronger than others.
If you play trapper, how can you expect to get consistently the same results as playing freddy?
Also spirit is like 9000 shards and you can compete with just her base kit.
-
Maybe you just need to git gud!
Play spirit and 4k every game, then when you are bored, switch to a different killer.

The difference is it comes back and has theoretically unlimited uses. Tell me, what is stronger (when it's working) a single save from being picked up for an unlimited number of get-aways?
I see your point. I just feel it is so ez to bait out and can only be used once per chase because of exhaustion.

They try to go that way, but if you adapt as killer you can win these 4 minute games.
However being a good or bad killer doesnt change the playstyle of these survivor players.
My point was, that a killer has a say in how the game goes. If oversimplifies the game with post like this, as if all survivors have the skill required to win every game against every killer.
The killer, if decent, should also have a say in how quickly gens get down..etc
-
I hear about these killer swf teams all the time, but rarely encounter them
My swf is my wife, myself, my daughter and a 4th. If we have one. Half the time we just talk and catch up during game play.
Sometimes I'm like "I haven't seen the killer in a while " My daughter is like" Oh, he has been chasing me".
Not exactly game breaking.
I think the reports of these seal team swfs are greatly exaggerated.
-
If that's how your games go, your not a good killer.
-
Just play spirit and kill em all!
Ez 4k!
-
Git gud

I went from survivor main to 50/50. But I’ve just noticed recently that I find myself clicking into killer lobbies more than survivor ones. I don’t like having to rely on having a decent team to get objectives done and since the new matchmaking I’m finding myself with a lot of teammates who are 10 ranks below me, and that’s just not fun because I can’t expect them to be at the same skill level as me but I also shouldn’t be expected to play in a lobby with them. 😂
Yeah, I get that. I play survivor with my daughter and wife. So when my daughter invites us I play survivor.
When I'm alone, I play killer.
-
I played a lot of killer when I started. Then recently played a lot of survivor to change it up after achieving all my goals as killer.
I have found myself lately a 50/50 player.

You know when Nurse is Porting. Cool.
You know when Trapper is placing traps. Cool.
You know when Ghostface is in stealth, you can still hear him swoosh around.
You can SEE Wraith's shimmer and you can hear his bing bong.
You can hear Billy Rev.
Huntress grunts when she readies her hatchet and she throws it.
Clown readies his bottles.
Demo opens his mouth.
Every single killer has a method to KNOW when they're using their power.
Why is Spirit any different? Standing Still shouldn't be a free hit, or a mindgame it isn't a mind game.
And I'm a PS4 Spirit Main.

She's so easy to 4k and to get to Rank 1 with.
Dude, if you are still falling for a spirit standing still that is on you.
I mean who still uses that tactic. Good spirit is all offensive. Hit , down, hook. Rinse and repeat.
If she stands still, use that time to get distance and make the next loop.

Id rather promote interactive gameplay instead of ways to just end the match. If I was a dev I would hope for my game to have systems in place to try and encourage playing through matches instead of just leaving them.
I get that. But those that like to employ this strategy only want to ruin others experience and don't care.
If they wanted interactions, they would hook them.
-
No. Just give em a way to elect to die after so long.
That slugging all 4 and leaving them on the ground, because you are afraid to pip and face real competition is bs.
-
The survivor cool down is when they are on a hook.

@Cleavite you say that just because of one word, which I only used one time, my post is not valid?
Your post is fine, it's an opinion and you are indeed entitled to that.
However I believe it is all individual, some people are more positive than others. Some people complain, some don't. Everyone's win conditions are different.
You may be happy win 1k and someone else may see it as a loss. It is always a problem for me when we try to group individuals into just 1 or 2 boxes.
Although I agree, it is best to play both sides to have a clearer view of the issues
-
No, you may be biased, but entitlement is a belief that it is your right to something.
And why you may have strong opinions based on a preference, I dont think anyone really believes that it is their right to escape or 4k.
-
As a survivor, a tie.
As a killer, a loss.
-
I wish we could ban the use of the word entitlement on these forums.
Complaining about balancing, is in no way entitlement.

Honestly im kinda jealous id love to swf my gf but crossplay isn't here yet and she hasn't played the game recently so ill have to teach her but no im not against tunneling and camping itself but the timing and context like if a killer tunnels and camps as a gameplay tactic they suck and some points you cant find anyone else or their teammates just hide after unhook so of course go for who you have to but for me when you camp at 4 gens left you're garbage and people can say all they want about it being entitlement or survivor rulebook but when you have no pressure against you as a killer why play in a way that is just unfun and unfair I only tunnel and camp if 3 gens are popped in 2 or 3 minutes maybe even 2 because I can sense how the game will end that or when I play nurse or huntress because I want to get better but also want to at least black pip and even then I rarely do it unless pressured into it
I certainly agree it is an unfun tactic when used so early in the game. I find this most often with newer killers, as older killer understand the value of split pressure.
-
The devs didn't do something against keys. They did something for Franklin's.
Does it effect keys, sure. But the point was to buff the perk, not nerf keys.
This is where we get in trouble. These well they did something here, so surely they must do something there, arguments.
-
The penalty is Swfs are formed.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
His lunge is the same as every other killer. It only looks longer because his weapon is smaller and because of dedicated servers, so he has to yeet himself so far forward in comparison to, say, trapper, who's weapon is as large as Freddy's entire arm.
His basekit is what every killer should have. Chase potential, game slowdown potential, and a movement ability. He isn't reliant on add-ons like some killers, or perks like others. He's completely self-sufficient and that should be how every single killer is.
He actually has the lowest amount of perks that synergise with his base kit because of the built-in oblivious. Any perks that affect the terror radius, like Infectious Fright, don't work.
The counterplay to freddy? Wake up. That's it. He's an M1 killer who has to waste time waiting for you to fall asleep when chasing you whilst you're awake. Pre-drop pallets and learn how to stay awake, bam he's countered. There are things you can do against a freddy, you don't need specific perks or items or even to change your style of play that much.
I don't understand how people have such an issue with freddy when spirit literally still exists.
I agree, most people don't wake up enough against him. Idc, I am gonna fail the next skill check.
-
I don't know. I get the hate on Freddy, but I agree there should be powerful killers.
I am not one that believes every killer is going to be as strong as the next. Different powers are inherently at different levels of strength. I think it is individual player skill that makes said killer op or underpowered.
If I see a lobby that looks like a swf, I'm taking my spirit, if I care to. Maybe I just want to play clown that day and not sweat the results.
But the strongest thing in the game is a well coordinated 4 man where every one can at least loop proficiently.
