Because survivors see adrenaline as a reward for already winning, and noed as a reward for losing.

In reality the endgame is neither a win nor a loss for either side until everyone's left or died.

Noed is like a reverse stalling perk, rather than slowing generators down, you prepare for them going quickly and capitalise off that. However it relies on the laziness of survivors whose mentality is "5 gens = win." Funnily enough it's those same survivors who tend to be the ones who run adrenaline as it means they can get the last gens done while risking being injured because of the free heal.

And the laziness of the killer to protect their gennys

  • Finally got that solo survivor nerf we have been waiting on.

  • I think a lot of newer killers use them for the fun and the power they provide.

A lot of older killers prefer to play bloodpoint offerings because we have already seen the mori animations plenty of times and prefer the points from a regular game.

And if you truly play both sides, like myself, then you may try to avoid OP builds. Same reason I won't run DS or Noed. Just a personal preference.

  • Looks like he failed to win another chase as well.

I wouldn’t mind if a killer did that, at least you hooked. I just had a game where the killer slugged all 3 of us and hooked and face-camped the fourth survivor who DC’d on hook. Instead of hooking us and ending the match he left us to bleed out. It was the most boring and frustrating match I’ve ever played. That said, when I saw where the player was from I wasn’t surprised and he was so toxic in the end game chat for no reason. We clearly weren’t swf, we didn’t have flashlights, etc. not sure what his problem was.

Yeah, I rarely slug, I just happened to have all the stars align with haunted popping while everyone was close.

I had a few games where killers just slugged every one and let em bleed out. It's a BS way to play . Some people just want to be douches.

  • I wont slug for the 4k, but if I get the last survivor I will give the hatch if I hear it.

Stole that from Fungoose. But I liked the idea so i use it. If I hear it I will give it, but I'm not searching all over the map to give the hatch

  • Yeah I think the point is it is a waste of a game for everyone.

No one pips, barely any points. But it is the killers prerogative at that point.

I had a game with spirit, haunted ground pops, then two close gennys give discordance notifications. All 4 slugged in like 30 seconds.

I hook 3, let last one wiggle off and save the rest. Then I let them all heal and just restarted after I saw their icons where all full health.

I figured I won the first game. Now we had a second. Everyone was real chill and cool in chat after.

  • Yeah I love playing legion as well. Just run around stabbing people.

And deep wounds does slow the game down as survivors gotta keep mending.

They are not the strongest killer but you can have a lot of fun with them

As a cannibal, I win if I drag one to the basement. It almost always ends with a 4k, thx to the commitment of swf.

As a spirit, I automatically win every game. No brane power required.

As a cowboy, I can never win because I can't detach the chains and just spear em all day.

Did you misspell "brain" to be ironic?

  • It's a ######### playstyle, but he obviously wanted to play that way with his build being what it was.

It is within the roles, so it's just one of those games, send em a gg and move on.

    Yeah, she is powerful!

  • What I do when I suspect a 3/4 man. Play sweaty spirit and enjoy the 4k!

  • Losing 2 gennys is not the end of the game.

Most recent example being a player was downed by killer just as I got the gate open, I’m on my way back to help said teammate and the killer mori’s them and I get a message of abuse after match for not helping?!

It just puts you off playing sometimes when people are so negative.

Yeah, that is just silly. People cant take a lose with dignity.

  • Well some people enjoy the teamwork required to escape a good killer.

What are you doing that people are bothered by?

I mean I'm all for having fun, but if you are cucking the team just memeing around, it's bound to be a bit annoying.

If you want the freedom to do as you please, , play killer.

  • At least something is!

  • Thanks! She got us into the game. She had to save my ass a lot at the beginning, now I'm not so bad, but she is definitely the one that carries us!

Yes. Yes, I did. You projected the 'all' in there, which completely changes the meaning.

If I said "Americans love cheese-burgers", are you gonna respond and say "Well, my Aunt Cheryl from Pittsburgh is more partial to ham-burgers, so you're wrong"? That just demonstrates you don't understand the basics of English communication.

I didn't say "all survivors" because I'm educated enough to know that you can't make such general sweeping statements and apply them to everyone, unless you have total domain knowledge which no-one can claim to have. I didn't even say "most survivors", even though that is my experience; I've very rarely come across survivors that have been beaten royally and they give kudos to the killer for playing well (I myself make a point of doing so). I can't say "some survivors" because that would imply the minority, which is certainly not my experience of those who complain, and from my understanding from listening to others as well. So I left it as just "survivors", without any further categorisation. You did that all on your own, and then had the audacity to project that back to me.

Are you a survivor-main by any chance? This last of thinking is a trait I often see from survivor-mains, which is expected as survivor is an easy role to play, and completely unlike killer where you have to juggle multiple different things simultaneously, as well as master multiple distinct characters (as opposed to survivor where the mechanics are all identical).

Sorry if I read you wrong. You didn't say "all" survivors, it is just said so often I guess I generalized there.

No I'm a killer main, I have over 7 devotions as killer and 2 as survivor, but lately I'm 50/50.

SWF explains alot. Play by yourself or with just one other person and get ready to have an insufferable time. You have a fun time with the game and that's great. But that does not mean issues with the game should not be addressed. And there are many issues. Playing solo, waiting in que for 5 minutes, then getting face camped on hook is a miserable experience.

I have played a lot of solo and killer, but no doubt solo can be frustrating.

  • Depends of the team and who you are tunneling. If you tunnel me, you probably can get me out of the game fairly quickly.

However, if you get my daughter first, well enjoy your 5 gen tunnel as we all escape through the gates without you getting 1 hook.

  • Yeah, being camped and tunneled in DBD is nothing new.

Although as a killer, that had struggled previously , I would suggest you keep chasing and learning to track. You will get better and before you know it, you hit that rank 1 and wonder why you ever had to use these tactics in the first place.

It's not a play style. It's abusing poor game design. Poor game design that has not been fixed for over 4 years. It is not fun, it does not respect your time. The game has moments of brilliant fun but those moments are not worth it when the majority of your time is sifting through the #########.

If you dont play many games and still love this game you either need to play other games to gain some perspective on what a good game is like or you are a true masochist who enjoys the agony.

DBD is not a challenge, it's a test in patience. How much of your time are you willing to throw away?

Dude, I am sorry you feel this way.

But swfing with My wife and Daughters and having some Bourbon on a Friday night, all laughing and just having a fun time, is not a waste in my book.

Also if it is as bad as you say, I don't want that perspective. I just enjoy the family time, and time with friends.

You say it's a dirtbag move and name other things that are complete bullshit in this game and say you love the game.

    Why?

It sounds like alot of poor game design to me with very little being done to rectify this fact.

DBD can be fun, but face camping is not fun, hour long standoffs are not fun, tunneling is not fun, gen rush is not fun but it's part of the game people say. You sit in a long que only to play the game for 5 minutes before being face camped, gen rushed, or tunnled or stuck in an hour long or more game of chicken. So on top of not being fun these very same things waste your damn time. A good game respects the players time.

Whenever this ######### happens after 4 ######### years it's like the devs are giving you the finger through your monitor.

"Here is a mechanic that is not fun and wastes your time. We will not fix it this is just part of the game. Here is our newest DLC now pay us and ######### you."

Dont get me wrong, I'm sure the devs are wonderful people, and I want to love this game. But these things prevent me from doing do. I take a break then come back and remember why i left. I could be playing something much more enjoyable.

I love the game because I do. We as individuals can all have different views on things and what we enjoy. I enjoy the challenge of 4king at red ranks. And I enjoy swfing with my wife and daughters.

I also don't play a lot of video games, in fact the last one was Dead Island on PS3. It takes a lot to get me into video games to begin with.

Do I like all the play styles some people use, no. But I respect their right to do so. I used to rage about these things, now I just use it as an opportunity to get better.

Very few things in life, if any, are perfect. But this game allows me to hang out and game with my family and friends, and presents a challenge, that I enjoy.

You had a good point... until you starting making stuff up.

Just to make sure, I went back and re-checked. Yup, I never said anything about all survivors. You came up with that on your own. I only asked the rhetorical question as to whether there was anything that survivors wouldn't complain about - that's very clearly a wide general question, and understood in this forum to be in the context of survivor's crying about face-camping, tunnelling, etc, etc, when the killer is merely going about their objective.

I also followed this up stating quite clearly "some people", not "all people".

Next time, please try not to be so judgement and projecting your limited narrow interpretation on what was a wide general statement.

    Thank you.

You literally say, "Is there nothing that survivors won't complain about..."

  • You had a good story until you lumped all survivors into one sterotypitcal group.

This was an act of two individuals, not all survivors.

What if there is no bt and wait that I frame you get. End game killers will camp/tunnel to get a kill so DS feels required.

I understand your position. But it is an OP perk, that in that situation , rewards bad team play.

Also it is pretty unanimous that a killer has the right to camp during end game, without catching flak for it.

I'd argue this is the only time BT is really OP. When the gates are open and you get BT and run out the gates.

Killers should have a chance to secure a kill during end game as well.

Honestly I can agree to what you are saying alot of bad survivors try to rush me with ds but do horribly so they have another 2 second chase. But the point I was going for is that the 3 gen run or a long chase in general is usually my situation I'm pretty good but some killers do not leave long chases and I'm forced to pay when i inevitably go down so I run ds.

Yeah, I can understand that as well, especially playing solo.

With good teammates you have a better chance of not being farmed and of someone taking hits if you are being tunneled.

  • @CWill22 said:

NOED isn't as strong as many people say at the moment but the only problem I have with it is that as a survivor you can completely outplay the killer all game and they still get 1-2k because they camp with NOED and anyone who tries to save is dead. I get the whole just cleanse totems argument but unless in a 4 man SWF you can't keep track of totems.

I think to make NOED more balanced the exposed effect should go away when the killer is within a certain distance from the hook allowing people to still get saved if the killer is camping.

I love how the argument for NOED is , just do bones, which is really only effective advice to SWFs.

Then the next line, oh SWFs are OP, and need a nerf.

Love how arguments are twisted to defend the current discussion and people don't see the irony in these opposing points.

  • Who is still falling for this?

Is failure running the killer for 3 gens then getting camped and tunneled?

No that seems like you did awesome.

But if you are referring to DS, you lost another chase and now get rewarded for it.

Tunneling sux, but if this was the case, you probably got 3 out, which is a win

  • I completely agree here, I would try to finish the gens.

I admit it is a dirtbag move to hide all game.

So your telling me that me getting 9 hooks and using it with blood wardan to get the 12 means I failed?

Cause you 12 hook most games right? Cause I try for it every time.

No I don't 12 hook most games, it is very hard to 4k at red ranks 12 hooking. And is not the most efficient strategy.

    I probably 9 hook most 4k games.

Your example is extremely different from most noed killers I have seen. Most tend to 1 or 2 hook all game and rely on No Ones Even Dead yet to get 1 kill.

The thing is, it’s not really a tactic. It would be classed as taking the game hostage. As the game will only end when the survivors are dead or the generators are all fixed. As a killer, you’re trapped in the game. The Devs have already said this isn’t allowed. It’s not always as simple as ‘finding higher ground’ - if a stealthy player with Urban Evasion and Spine Chill don’t want to be found, then they won’t be. You shouldn’t have to walk around for over 10 mins hoping you bump into them. It’s ridiculous. I’ll admit it’s a rarity and it doesn’t happen often but the point is, it shouldn’t be able to happen at all.

I am not saying it is not a dirtbag move. I'm just saying it is part of the game.

Same with tunneling ebonies, face camping LF, DS locker BS, Heal Tech at the gates and all that BS.

It is the game we love, why whine about it? Search and destroy, is it harder, sure.

But you can find them and kill them.

In my match no gens were being worked on and that was the issue. It was 2 Blendette’s hiding in bushes and waiting for the other to die. I was playing as Michael so I didn’t have anything else to do. It went on for 10 mins until I eventually heard some grass move and found one of them. Survivors shouldn’t be able to make you spend 10 mins trying to find them because they’re basically a cloaked Wraith on certain maps and I shouldn’t have to DC and lose BP because people just want to hide instead of trying to do a generator. It’s boring. Also, crows don’t fly away when you crawl past them with Urban Evasion.

I know about the crows, it was not the whole basis of my argument, just a small part of it.

I agree that this game play sucks, but so do other tactics used by both sides. As the killer I play with an offensive mind set at all times.

Perhaps finding higher ground and just going into stalk may have eventually highlighted 1 of them.

How exactly can he hunt people down when they’re just hiding? It’s easier said than done. When it happened to me it was 2 Blendette’s on Yamaoka Estate, both running Spine Chill and Urban Evasion.

By trying. It happens, you find higher ground, scan the map. Look for crows, gens being worked on..etc

Trapper, traps. Demo, use shred, find people near portals. Bottles, shock, cloak, I mean the list goes on nd on.

What else is there to do, walk in a circle for 30 minutes?

I think DS as defensive perk is fine. When its used offensively and along with certain perks then it becomes an issue. Maybe it needs the change which Scott suggested in his video.

I personally I am more bold in my decision making when I use DS and it gets me or my teammates into trouble, which is why I stopped using it. Knowing that I had it made me play way worse because I knew I had a safety net and would make silly plays.

    Thanks for the honesty.

I think that is the problem many killers have with DS. People play cocky with it, knowing they have this immunity. Which doesn't really fit the theme of survival horror.

  • I won't play either perk myself.

They are both strong perks that reward failure. And give you an unearned advantage.

  • Tunnel after Tunnel after Tunnel after Tunnel

The loss? I've won at this point its 2 survivors left and theyve 3 gened this isnt a win for them.

My point is go get em. Why would you spend 30 minutes patrolling gennys that are not being worked on.?

If they are being worked on chase em a d kill 1

  • Go hunt them down and kill em, or take the loss.

  • I have never used keys. That is why I have about 70 of em.

And haven't used a mori as a killer, outside of the occasional daily, in over a year and a half.

I think both are bs, although I get why new killers use them. They are fun at first, then you get good and prefer the bloodpoints.

I think keys should let out 1 person. And cypress mori should be basekit for killers.

Then you could still get 2 people out of a hatch if they are last 2 alive, as it would stay open for last survivor.

And killers would always have a chance of seeing their mori animations.

  • Maybe git gud, find them and kill them.

That will waste much less of your time.

  • THINGS THAT RUIN MY FORUM EXPERIENCE.

    Whiny posts.

  • The only change needed is if you do a genny it deactivates.

  • People will complain about everything.

Camping is a tactic that you can use whenever you want as a killer, however there are times when it is advantageous and times when it will hurt you.

However it is fairly unanimous that camping when the gens are done is always acceptable.

  • Or you could just git gud!

These posts are silly, play how you want, but why come to the forums and be "I gonna camp you, na na na boo boo!"

You are only limiting your own growth as a killer and will get destroyed when you face a team that knows how to counter this style of killer, SWF or Solo.

  • Camping is lazy and not an efficient tactic for killers.

There are times it is the correct move, for instance you get to hooked right next to each other. Or as you said 3 gens left and survivor hooked in the middle of them. But as an overall strategy, you will lose more games than you win against good survivors.

Ofcourse, against silly survivors that keep hook rushing while you are in proximity, well then the onus is on them.
