The idea is that if you're healing another survivor or healing yourself, it's a conspicuous action as you're not actively being tunneled or having an engagement with the killer.
People heal right underneath hooks in regular gameplay, so it wouldn't make sense to just have you being healed remove your protection.
That makes no sense
-
I don't see a problem with this at all. How many times are you going to encounter a hag with this build and add on combo? Your far more likely to encounter a SWF as killer that's going to bend you over than this killer/add-on combo as survivor. Do your best, take it on the chin and move on to the next match I say.

That would make it useless in present day DbD unless most aura reading perks were severely nerfed as well. If you don't like Distortion run Spies in the Shadows or Whispers.
why would I run those when it doesn't synergize with a lot of killers? Killers have unique abilities and use perks to go with them. Survivors are just skins.
Aura is already nerfed when one perk can outright counter it in its entirety and no, don't suggest gearhead because I only have 4 perk slots and am not going to run it just "In case". Also, having 3 tokens and only 3 is not useless, it directly counters Lethal which is argued by some as an unhealthy perk…

Object of Obsession is way stronger against this. You will make M1 killers life hell on most maps.
Just drop your item in main and watch killer suffer.
I agree im just making a point that Franklins and Weave are fine and instead offering a suggestion since theres more than enough counter-play when you face this.
-
Run distortion
-
Stridor should be buffed aswell
-
The hooks should never go away to begin with. What's the point of it other than to make the game more stressful for killer and giving the survivor another second chance? Me not getting to a hook is what your teammates are for.
-
When its end game collapse any survivor healing within 16 meters of an exit gate should trigger a mini blood warden.
-
My problem with distortion is that it hard counters aura reading with no activation requirement other than existing. Lethal at the start of a match? Nope. Find, chase, down and then hook a survivor to activate BBQ, that's gonna be a big fat no again. How about one more time find, chase, down and then hook. Nope 3 strikes and your out. I don't care about whataboutisms or endless go nowhere scenarios people like to provide. This perk in its current state is unhealthy. It should be reverted back.

Whenever topics like this comes up I feel like Yui's tome lore is relevant to the topic. Where her grandma tells her she can not really care about anything and just win but with just caring about efficiency they're just a "machine that wins".
I think it applies here because if you're just doing the same thing over and over are you using your brain at all? Did you create an interesting experience to think about? Are you challenging yourself in any way? The answer to all these are of course no. None of this happened and what's being done would easily be replicated by a bot and for the survivors well there's nothing really for them to do other than either walk into slaughter or slam gens then leave neither of which is interesting.
I'm not going to say you're playing wrong or inefficiently the opposite obviously it's effective, what I would argue is nothing worthwhile is happening in any of your games.
I get what your saying but hear me out. When i play trapper normally, He's bottom 2-3. Playing basement he is easily top 2-3 killer in the game and that's the point. I am in the power role, sure survivors can pound gens and leave but they spent all match doing so and not getting any chase or altruism point which is a waste of there time not mine. The fun is luring them to the basement and hooking them there period. Even though im in the winning position by default the fact they come to my playhouse and attempt to save shows the power role BHVR has created. Food for thought.

DH should only work if a survivor has completed a gen. Kind of like Coup De Grace...

I was bored so I wanted to find out what killer would use which perk the best. I didn't include Unnerving Presence and Overwhelming Presence because there is nothing about them that a specific killer would get more use than others.
If you're curious about a perk and why I chose a killer for it, don't be afraid to ask. And if there's something you don't agree with, tell me what you think :o

I agree, it is very cool. They are just mad jealous that they do not understand the art of the basement.
Agreed. The basement takes life but also gives it.

@Yankus said:
I play Trapper by putting my traps in the most random places. Idk how but it works. Survivors never expect traps in places where there isn't a lot going on.
I know of different ways to play him to but, Basement trapper is so much easier and better.

@InvadeGames said:
while a basement build is viable it sounds like you need to learn the fundamentals of chasing more. after maining killer for over a month now chases usually dont make me mad now because i have learned how to run them and how to play loops and which ones to drop. I main the weaker killers too, Wraith, GF, trapper, and i get 3-4k the majority of my games. and i am by no means a top level killer. I have bad reflexes and whiff alot.
Only baby survivors are gonna fall for someone obviously just camping basement.
Also, sounds kinda boring to do nothing but sit on basement all game. once you learn to chase and loop against survs, it does become enjoyable.
On the non god loops i often intentionally dont break them in hopes i can ge ta surv there later to play the loop on them.
Im not camping the basement.

Least insane Trapper main.
What?? lol

Why would i play my favorite killer and arguably one of the weakest in a conventional play style? Get a survivor, take them with me and trap up.. I hooked and killed all 4 survivors, where are my max blood points? Oh i forgot, i didnt get looped for an eternity. I did everything i'm expected to do no? BHVR needs to take a hard look at there game.

Again, asking for the correlation LMFAO. I'm not going to stop asking for QOL buffs to solo just because you wanna guard basement every game...
Like HUH. There's definitely some takes on the forums huh.
why are you even wanting buffs to solo? everytime bhvr does something beneficial to survs it ultimately benefits SWF. You want killers to be more engaging? Then buff them. i mean after all they are SUPPOSED to be the dominant role.

Wait...Where's the correlation between slamming gens against a camping basement killer and wanting solo queue buffs / updates?
I thought all basement campers understood the ONE major risk of doing that - gens can and will get done, since no one is going for saves or healing. That's just common sense. If the players understand and realize that the player on hook is being basement camped...the general consensus is "Okay, they're dead. Let's just get these gens done and get out of here."
Obviously in solo queue that's not going to work 100% of the time because not everyone will coordinate like that. But overall, that's the general idea lol.
Then please stop asking for QOL buffs to solo. Just do gens and get out.

If a Survivor only ShiftW's, don't place birds, they'll ShiftW themselves to death.
Good aim also works
Cool. You do you.

You want to make survivors work for the save? Against a basement Trapper? Lmao.
You've gotta be real baby surv to try and go for a save against a basement Trapper. I find it a lot more satisfying to just slam gens and get a 3 man escape against killers like that. As long as the hooked survivor doesn't try to give up on hook. That's a team player.
But then why are you solo's asking for buffs?
-
@Starrseed said:
You know what? Good for you my friend keep doing what brings you fun. You take a trap based killer and use his traps to lay out a net you lure in your pray that's how a trap based killer should be played
All im trying to do is get people to think outside the box. Chasing survivors is tedious work often times unrewarding work. Why not have them come to you? Unconventional doctrine perhaps?

If you think the game is that survivor sided to the point where you've given up completely on actually playing the game and just sitting on basement... HOPING someone steps in a trap...a break is definitely needed idk.
Almost as boring as Bubba's that go in the basement just to sit and camp chest. (Played against one of these last night and we just slammed gens and left cuz I heard his chainsaw rumbling down there lmao)
At that point just play survivor or something.
i want to make survs work for the save. Not be the one standing in an open field on coldwind risking a flashlight, flashbang, sabo. Basement is life. I set the pace, they have to follow.

It's about work vs reward. It's SUPPOSE to be less stress playing killer but behavior has forgot that. Constant chasing is for plebs. People that wanna risk getting looped, flashlighted, flashbanged, saboed whatever can have that. I wanna make survs work.
-
Altruism is stupid? If i got you in the basement and your SWF left, I won.
-
Slow down perks are useless anyways. The gens will get done regardless.
-
Flashlights should have a one time use. High risk high reward.
-
Flashlights are a broken mechanic that just like DH rewards a player with no repercussions

Recently I've been playing against killers that are super toxic.
Not just occasionally, every single killer for the past 2 months has been so toxic even if the survivors are not.
Camping, hardcore tunneling, smacking on the hook and nodding.
Leaving people on the ground to bleed out.
Seems killers are finally realizing the game isn't as survivor sided as they thought because they're finally trying and not crying about getting free wins.
They still complain though 🤔
Maybe it's because having survivors looping you all match while the gens fly and then another survivor comes to the rescue when you get downed and flash lights you for the save puts a little burn in there heart. Constant chasing is for noob killers anywayz

DBD should just sit back and take notes on how Siege does things...

Otherwise just play another game. There's a great post on the forums explaining if you guys can't comprehend it.
Right... a company that implements SBMM but yet doesn't even balance around it and even if they do, you wont know until 6 months out and it's usually a tragic decision that get's information from primordial data.

They are both terrible, but for different reasons. One gives bad killers pity kills, rewards bad play and is basically fundamentally flawed in terms of design.
The other is just too powerful in terms of numbers (the numbers being either the speed, the range or the amount of uses/times it can be relit)
COH could be a great perk with some tweaks. NOED needs redesigning from the ground up
"pity kills"? That's skill according to Patrick.

So like 200?

Yes they are both bad perks, there's only 1 big BUTT
Noed can be destroyed entirely and there won't be a chance for it to come back, COH (or any boon for that matter) can't be destroyed and will be coming back.
So in a way COH is a stronger perk as it gives unlimited healing and can be activated indefinitely as long as the player is alive, while NOED will (if you let it happen) only activate at the end of the match.
So are they really both opposite of each other, i don't think so.
That's my point. 1 perk is really strong and affects an entire match all the time while the other is a toss-up and can only be used after all gens are completed.
-
This company to me is just milking the current cash flow with the occasional crumb update thrown in.. Let's say you have 10 employees who are mediocre at best and there sole job is to just play killer and survivor to find out if nerfs or buffs are needed, that's 1600 hours a month dedicated to actual game play and they come up with nerfing toy sword and marvins blood the only two add ons that make twins and nemesis worth playing but at the same time give COH a slap on the wrist? pshhh
-
If you think about it, COH is the complete opposite of NOED. I mean really think about it.

LP is way better than bitter murmur because it let's you understand where everyone is at the start and get very early chases. On high mobility you can practically get in a chase before it runs out.
LP is gone in 9 seconds. Bitter murmur allows me to see survivors periodically throughout the match to help me make a decision of where to go next.

Removing tiers is still by far the best and the most logical idea
It would be to difficult according to them because they're coding while using Windows '98.

For starters BHVR can do away with cancelling out perks from the bloodweb. IE: I chose STBFL instead of PGTW and therefore need to wait until i get a new blood web. Or maybe they can give us an option to have a perk replaced with another at random. IE: I don't want Stridor because it's poo-poo and by clicking on it it'll get replaced with another.
-
Lethal Pursuer should be taken down to weak and switched with Bitter murmur.
-
Lol jolt for all intents and purposes is a hot garbage perk

I don't like Cenobite's kill rate it's almost 60% therefore we should nerf him again and Freddy too. I don't like how his add ons is already worthless but just let's make his power worthless as well to balance it out.
The data you just posted is considered "bad" data. It's completely archaic in it's findings and doesn't take into account massive variables IE: hooks vs kills. Even during the Q&A the devs said Nurse wasn't the worse killer, but that contradicts what the stats show.
-
Trapper would need insane buffs... BTW Trapper bag is a really crappy add-on...

@Myla said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2767043#Comment_2767043
Also if you want to use stats so much when it's convenient for you then game would go horribly wrong? Lots of weak killers would get nerfed
Deathslinger and Nemesis come to mind...

Main tip I have is use corrupt intervention so you have time to set up some traps before gens start flying
Next time it's on SOS ill get it.. I have no intention of going up the route with plague.

All killers need buffs. Remember everybody, the killers on PC are also on console and therefore the gameplay is drastically different. IE: Learning Nurse on pc is much much much easier than on console and therefore yeah... Separate the two if you have to.
