It is you.

Not particularly, especially for maps that ended up getting better visual clarity. I don't necessarily prefer all the old maps' new visuals though. Hopefully the facelifting the game is getting will allow for not only different weather but different times of the day as well so that we can get nighttime farm maps back, for example.

OG Deathslinger was just constant fake out spam and forcing Survivors into lose lose situations.
Also the people who complained on an almost daily basis on the forum about Deathslinger's original ADS speed back in the day, would disagree with it not being a big deal to bring it back.
Current Deathslinger may not be the mindless fun OG Deathslinger was to play as, but it's definitely more fair and now actually requires skill to get a hit now.
OG Deathslinger was just constant fake out spam and forcing Survivors into lose lose situations.
To be fair, so is current Deathslinger, lol.

Yes they will return one day on the store for auric cells. That's how it works.

why are we schizoposting about improved animations?
I wouldn't call those hooking animations on Kate an improvement, quite frankly. Sometimes (often), less is more.

Any major graphical overhaul to DbD NEEDS to come with the ability to individually toggle the quality of different elements: shadows, global illumination, effects, post processing, etc. It's the only way to improve the visual fidelity of the game without alienating large swathes of players on low end or previous gen hardware.
Games like the Outlast Trials are able to provide modern visuals while still running well thanks to their optimisation and scalability — DbD should be able to aswell.
One of the biggest — and most overlooked — contributors to DbD's success is its relatively low hardware requirements, and I really hope they recognise that with the upcoming visual updates. What they previewed looks incredible, don't get me wrong. But if the average DbD player cannot run it, then what is the point? I'm hoping with how long they'll be working on it, they'll be able to strike a good balance between visuals and performance.
Not just low end hardware users but also people who simply don't care about visual fluff and just want a game with as much visual clarity as possible. Most especially for a multiplayer game.
-
That's not a source of worriness, that's long overdue.

The texture and animation updates looks amazing though
Dunno about the animations, that Kate closeup was not the greatest, I won't lie. Original animation is more basic but also more natural and smooth. The new faces also look more bland. Survivors keep losing their respective charm and identity after every of those facelift waves.
-
A few characters in the game already have a different voice actor for grunting and speaking respectively. This simply is what they should do from now on (along with a toggle as well, not everybody enjoys having to listen to yapping survivors). Oh and stop being lazy and start actually equalizing the sound volume of the surv roster already. Sound is an extremely important aspect of the game's gameplay.

Actually all they would have to do is lower the amount of time it takes to kill victor when you are stuck in a locker.
Any half competent Twins player won't send Vic across the map unless they're proxy camping a hooked survivor. The locker cooldown would need to be reduced to like a few mere seconds in order to have a major impact.
-
There's not much they can do about it aside from reworking the killer from the ground-up, which they never will.

"Why don't we make the game plays itself"

Mandy has stated that making tons of changes to the game alongside introducing a chapter in the same ptb causes a lot of problems, but also takes a lot of feedback attention away from the chapter. This ptb is only for the Jason chapter, nothing else.
I believe its not so much there isn't more changes in future updates that they want to show us, but more so that this just isn't the time for that.
We're not asking for "a ton" but at least a decent amount of reasonable changes. Also, let's not pretend that devs always listen to feedback nor that balance changes made in mid chapters are not often questionable to begin with. The whole year 2025 was pretty much the perfect example of what I am talking about.

Trappers mori duration is about average atm. They could definitely give him a cooler mori without necessarily making it longer.
It's 10 seconds long, which actually makes it the 3rd shortest mori in the game along Freddy (Pig and Wraith are 1st/2nd). Pretty much every single mori the past few years has been about 15 seconds long.

@Anti051 said:
One less way to spam loud noise notifications at the killer.
If that was the "issue" then there were better and more elegant ways to fix it.
-
Yes, they did a good job.
-
Does it really matter…? Also, Trapper base mori is competitively advantageous due to its duration. Meaning that you technically want devs to nerf him.
-
Any 10th anniversary chapter that isn't F13 would be a disappointment.

@Mandy said:
There is no plans for this. There used to be a third party tool in the past that did the same type of thing, and of course it was abused by players blocking people who beat them - killers blocking survivors, survivors blocking someone because they played Nurse for example. It's definitely not something we want to see happening again.
That's precisely why all games with this feature have a limit of how many players they can avoid.
-
Horror games stop being scary past the first few hours. Old DBD was no exception.

I'm not even surprised anymore.

True that.
He went from weak but unique to stronger but rigid to uncounterable.
It kind of feels unfair, since he can shred pallets (power or not, mind you, since he has a permanent +20% speed on breaks), instadowns and his stealth is on demand (which is not the issue, that is the fact he can sneak up, start tier 3 and lose minimal distance)
He never was weak, thanks to some of his addons.
-
Only took a whole year. Better late than never. Realm prevention should go, as well. Playing on Shelter Woods is not the same thing as playing on Suffo Pit nor is Garden and Pizza and so on.
-
Nothing wrong with it. It's a healthy perk combo with a noticeable downside.

Please make the new UI an option. I get that UX designers need to justify their paychecks but not everybody want those changes and making things optional doesn't hurt anybody. We need more options in general, for that matter. It's a live service game that people regularly play, give us more choices.

Maybe go read the 781 threads already made on the subject.

Hey Doc we know your D-tier heres your .00005 buff your welcome
It's quite ironic (as often with this game's balancing) that the better killers of the bunch also are the ones who got the most buffs whereas the weaker half gets crumbs.
-
Yeah I'm sure that -1% battery consumption was exactly what we needed to finally make use of the Springtrap doors, Behaviour.

It definitely is a major misunderstanding from the lead design team to think that diminishing returns on modifiers will improve build variety. Pretty much all the meta builds ignore modifier stacking already and always have. Those changes are basically pushing the We'll Make It/Desperate Measures/Botany etc crowd (which already are a minority) toward the good ole reliable cookie cutter meta builds (DS, UB, OTR, exhaustion etc). And don't even get me started on the killer role, who can only benefit from 4 perks, not 16. Why would a Clown player keep bothering with "exotic" perks such as Batteries Included and Rapid Brutality when they can just pick two gen perks that they're not already using instead and that they will actually get the full effects of?
-
@ArcT said:
Killers have been able to do all this for years. No items? Can take off Franklins. Four flashlights. Lightborn. 4 matching Aces, dodge.
If it hasn't been a problem for killers to do this, then it's not a problem for survivors.
Or better yet, prevent both sides from seeing anything about the other, which would help curb sniping as well.
Killers are the hunters, survivors are the hunted. It's that simple. Sometimes I'm scared of the critical thinking capacities of some of the members of this community.

Hey folks! I wanted to pop in with some extra context on this to give you a little look at the dev side of things. The timing of when the Killer power icon is shown is a tunable on our side, which means we can make adjustments to this if needed.
We'll be closely watching PTB feedback to keep the team informed about how folks are feeling about this in case adjustments from the PTB are needed!
Such an obvious attunement does not even need PTB testing. Really baffling that the designers thought this was a good idea to begin with.
-
I also hope she gets a rework nerfing hard her current playstyle. She's one of the worst designed killers in the game and has always been.

@Jay_Whyask said:
The Bloodsense map doesn't reveal the auras of injured survivors anymore?
Why was an event item arbitrarily nerfed?
How did the balance team even find the time for that, they have way bigger fish to fry.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The item has been in a buggy state for quite a while now, as per usual with this game.

Billy. Blight to a lesser extent. That's about it, really.

Selfless perks will never be commonplace in public matches.

y'all twisted my words.. kinda lol. what I meant is that in most cases now during a chase you're probably better off not using your power at all.. keep in mind I say this as a casual console player.. not a godlike hardcore tournament level pc player.. because i know that there are some Kaneki players out there who can pull of some crazy stuff (block you mid loop by power) but lets be honest what is the percentage of these guys?
keep in mind I say this as a casual console player

When he launched he was bad, when they made him 4.6 he was also still pretty bad. Is there any buff they made to him in this update that made it worth for him to be back to 4.4?
? 4.6 Trickster was A tier, what are you on about

Don't get your hopes up. Those devs hate giving players options.

you shouldn’t need to go to youtube to learn anything.
Yes you should. If your game, regardless of the genre, has depth then many things will be requiring you to go out of your way to learn about it all and that's exactly how it should be.
-
Best compromise would be having it start at 15secs then lose 1 second of duration after each completed gen.
-
Not BHVR's fault if the average DBD player is too dense/lazy to understand something that takes 2 minutes to learn.
-
It's only been one year since they confirmed a rework for it. Be patient, bro. By the end of 2031 it will be ready, I'm sure.
-
Some maps are full of deadzones, some are full of pallets everywhere. The mess caused by the pallet density updates is still evident.
-
Yes. A CV-centric chapter would easily work.
-
It needs a proper part 1 and 2 first. Many mistakes were implemented to the game last year.
-
You don't watch much streamers then.

I hope BHVR is listening.
They've mostly been ostriches when it comes to Kaneki thus far so don't get your hopes up.
-
He's been bottom for many years now. He's even more the epitome of a "vanilla M1 killer" than Trapper is. And it depends on what you consider a "rework". He doesn't need an actual rework like what Nightmare got (twice) but he surely needs new stuff added to his base power however.
-
These devs just love buffing S tier killers, don't they.
-
Stick to 2v8 then and wait for it to become a permanent mode.
