The vast majority of DBD skills and knowledge are universal so I don't see the issue with such system. The only killer that truly strays away from the base is Nurse.
-
Aura reading should stay within the perk realm as much as possible. A free Bond is barely going to fix anything about your Sable solo Q teammate running into walls during her (30 secs long) chase or your Meg being unable to comprehend the UI icons on her screen.
-
They're not balancing around S tiers. They however may be balancing around competent surv players, in SWF or not.

- Total lack of communication in solo q, in a game where coordination is key.
- MMR simply doesn't work.
- Fix these two problems and the game will be significantly better. Seeing P100 killers (so we've supposedly invested time in learning their respective mechanics) playing their power terribly is becoming the norm. Even the killer doesn't realize how negative this whole situation is.
This is DBD, not Counter Strike. The UI icons are the solo Q communications of this slasher movie simulator game and they perfectly satisfy this role. You may be confusing lack of knowledge (and skills) with lack of in-game communications.

Bhvr definitely hates fun, they love to watch us struggle, it pleases them...
Or they just don't get it. And by "it" I mean pretty much everything. The fact that this horribly designed anti-go next prevention feature is still a thing (that you can completely remove by simply having one particular offering in the lobby btw) is hilarious.
-
The best anti-tunnel feature will always be to get good. If you get tunneled out in less than 3 minutes, blame yourself for not being better. If your teammate does then blame them for not pulling their weight.
-
I use the fact that he is unfun to play against as an excuse to not buff him.
-
Auto-aim option has been in the game files since forever but never actually worked and they've passive-aggressively been telling us to forget about it, recently. Leading me to believe that it is basically hard coded into the game and removing it without destroying the whole house of cards is impossible.

Yeah, it's a weird choice for them to choose the kids.
Hopper and Joyce are right there.
They're not kids. Holly is a kid.

Too many to count but one very recent change that I would undo is that horrid Autohaven filter that nobody asked for.
-
They did a lot on that front a few years ago but it seems that they're only doing the bare minimum since then.
-
Cherry Blossom just needs to go. Never should have been a thing in the first place.
-
DBD players whenever they can't grasp something simple: "It's clunky".

Christmas. It's Christmas. I'm sure you can say it. And then say "happy new year" next week.

Designed for Japanese controller-using hands. That's why.

I used to not be favourable about the idea but at this point I'm inclined to believe that a ranked mode would fix a lot of perpetual issues.

Honestly, the fact that you want to argue for such a blatantly overpowered killer that developers have coddled for years is truly mindboggling. This killer isn't healthy, and any point about SWF being busted at higher levels doesn't negate the fact that this killer is far more damaging to the game, since a single Blight is far more common.
Blight is undeniably an overtuned and coddled killer but nerfing his speed yet again simply isn't the way to go. BHVR's biggest original mistake with this killer was giving him FIVE rush tokens basekit and now it's probably too late to go back.
-
We've been asking them for years to make certain aspects of the game a toggleable option such as aim dressing, chat filter or volumetric fog. They simply refuse to.
-
I would call the recent changes to Autohaven anything but "map clarity". I have to use a specific shader now to somewhat undo their mistake. Just make maps look natural again and have the fog be a graphic setting, I say. As already said, there's a gamma option in the game now.

I would leave the MMR calculation as it is and tweak the matchmaking instead.
Kills and escapes are a fine measuring stick. MMR is relative performance over time. It's not meant to measure you strictly on the 1 game where you looped a killer for 100 gens and died.
I've personally played close to 10k trials combined. The handful of trials where I personally played well and lost aren't even a blip on the radar. Over the course of thousands of trials, is a better player going to escape more than a less skilled player against a common opponent? Is a better killer going to have more kills? Again, those outlier games where someone hid in a bush and made it out, or you got 400 hooks but somehow didn't kill anyone don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Your MMR isn't cartoonishly rubber banding from game to game.
Kills and escapes are a fine measuring stick
BHVR managed to realize how asinine of a measure this was but you somehow can't? Grim.
-
BHVR loves randomly breaking things that didn't need fixing instead of working on things the community queries them about for years.
-
DBD's code doesn't like verticality. Don't get your hopes up.
-
They already got nerfed like 2 years ago. They're not a major issue anymore, methinks.
-
We really need an unranked mode with different balancing at this point. Fog for the casual players, visual clarity for the hardcore players.
-
All you had to do to spare yourself from public embarrassment was typing "DBD loadout rename" on Google.
-
No surprise for anybody keeping up with the news. Looking forward to how they're gonna adapt a character with a Freddy-like power. Having the Halloween void realm gimmick as part of his kit seems so evident that I will be very baffled if he does not. Would be cool to give Demo a bone alongside as well, he deserves it.

they didn't though adding more time doesn't mean anything when survivors can invalidate it with gen progression perks and toolboxes not to mention gen regression is still trash
So you won't mind if devs bring back gen completion time to 80 secs in the next update?
-
Because it's visual pollution and should be made optional in graphic settings. Casual players who love smog on their screen can have it, competitive players can opt out.
-

It makes sense if they balance their game with blinders on. They want killer to be braindead easy mode.
I feel like they want DBD in general to be more braindead.
-
DBD will forever remain a dumpster fire of bugs. No operation health was ever gonna change that.
-
@terumisan said:
you need to nerf gen speed or give big buffs to gen regression to lower tunneling your changes are bad btw because you don't understand gens pop fast
They already did nerf the speed of generators aka the most boring part of survivor gameplay. Killer getting basekit buffs for spreading out hooks, sure, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
-
Yet another poorly thought out major balance change pushed on live servers without getting tested anywhere beforehand. So much for the T standing for "test", heh.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
some of these players seem to think that they're playing a singleplayer horror game
That's not "some", that's the majority of the Western playerbase. The same majority that keeps asking for more smog and less visual clarity on maps and keeps bickering opponents who don't play the way they want them to.

@Brimp said:
Quite simple really. The North American servers are a lot more casual while Asian servers people actually seem to like to try at the game rather than the North American regions give up over the most petty reasons.
Also, 95% of killer players on Tokyo server are controller users.
-
The aura part of the perk is just a nice minor bonus. No need to scratch your head over it.
-
Legion still sees a fair amount of play. Also, strength never correlated much with popularity. That applies to DBD but also PvP games in general. People play what they enjoy playing, period. Twins, Singu, Krasue are top tier killers that you encounter once in a blue moon because not many people vibe well with them, that's all. A B tier Blight would still remain among the most played killers in the game.

Well the best example for this topic is seeing survivors in 2v8.
I wrote it from time to time that I am buffled that Survivors in 2v8 are going down so fast to a single Killer (not both) Chases last like 10 seconds from full health to downed.
When you play Killer and see many Survivors crouching in plain sight or the biggest part of the "looping" is standing in a pallet than you can say there are many survivors which should try to learn how to loop.
To be fair, 2v8 is mostly populated by people who play DBD once in a blue moon or at a constantly low level.

Gamma already kinda does this though, so I really don't know why they ruined Autohaven when no one even asked for it to be changed.
It was a pretext all along to justify their horrible changes to the realm. They already knew a lot of people wouldn't like it.
-
Am I missing anything?
The totally necessary and not annoying change of rarity colors after 9 years. Survs getting free DCs up the wazoo. Not being able to kobe when you should be able to (such as during EGC). The rework of the tomes, replaced by bland quests. Map offerings are basically bloodweb pollution now. Keys were nerfed and see even less play than before, map items barely feel like a sidegrade and the smoke bombs were a complete flop. Unnecessary rework to Clown that mostly ended up getting reverted. Poorly thought out rework to Myers. Ghoul clearly is an unfinished killer due to the absurd amount of glitches he has ever since PTB and that they still haven't fixed after 8 months. Autohaven now looks like radioactive vomit. And I'm definitely missing a few other things. 2025 was simply not a good year for the game, arguably the worst considering that every other year welcomed several different major forms of improvement to the game whereas 2025 is mostly regression.

Icel, you might be forgetting what Autohaven looked like already. Unless you mean the old old Autohaven, before realm beyond, that had a slightly blue tint. The sky dome color was greenish to match the map's terrain color and various props. That 's not the problem though, the problem is the lighting was changed for no reason and no one complained about it. Now we have a Fallen Refuge 2.0. It's a shame, Autohaven being one of the original three realms and now being changed to this slop that you can't even see through.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PCOELBF5GZPB/image.png
Note: this image doesn't have any gamma increases, and it's already a good brightness.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X1MC39EBWPPX/image.png
New lighting for some reason also meant "we're adding fog back!" So on top of the already chlorophyl staining color, you also can't see further than 40 meters in front of you when fog isn't even present on any other maps. (except Fallen Refuge ofc)
They honestly should just make volumetric fog an option already instead of yo-yoing with it constantly. Casual players who love "immersion" can have their fog whilst competitive ones can not have it.
-
Tunneling out a survivor doesn't always mean they are bad at looping but survivors complaining about tunneling pretty much always does. I personally love getting tunneled. Much more thrilling than doing gens. I wouldn't queue for surv at all if I was not expecting to get chased by the killer.
-
@tech said:
It would be cool if the amount of pallets on the map changed to the killer thats in play
Blight may get more where ghostface would get less, maybe its a bad idea but on the surface atleast its good
That's not how PvP games should be balanced but I've basically lost hope when it comes to the balancing philosophy of this company so this route might be the right one.

Isn't that what their consultancy program is meant to do?
That's what normal companies usually do with their consultants but BHVR is no normal company.

Please no shoehorned dash ability again. Various buffs from stalking survivors already marked would be a more elegant way to improve him.

The map was not pushed to live, the changes have been made on it to adjust the colour scheme which was the main complaint on the map in the PTB
Nobody complained about the previous live one besides a whopping 4 individuals. Maps like Eyrie and Toba desperately need visual changes, Autohaven did not.
-
No adjustments to Autohaven (besides the ugly visual changes) is quite strange.
