You really don't get much more for a 4k vs a 3k and then only bloodpoints which I have also been told are meaningless when it benefits someones argument. I would actually be happier with the auto-kill system than the existing one simply because it eliminates slug for the 4k. (I read that wrong at first and thought you were talking about the 2v1 scenario) Many people love to argue that kill rates are inflated because of how easy it supposedly is to secure one in endgame, once again it just depends on if it helps their current argument.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085168#Comment_4085168

So survivors should get a way to kill the killer. That sounds like its what you are arguing for.

I have an option to do 4k, are there ANY reason why wouldn't want to do it? Only when its much more effort than 3k which is what we have now. I really dont think i need to reason why its normal for a player to want to secure a complete, deserved win.

    >So survivors should get a way to kill the killer

Are there anyone who would prefer hatch to this? Sounds much more fun and interactive, especially if bhvr manage to implement it in a way that doesnt feel too one-sided.

The thing your missing is that you don't need a 4k to win, you already won. If you have ever told someone they should care less about winning then wanting a 4k that badly is hypocrisy. Any mechanic they try adding for the 2v1 will be lambasted and never see the light of day unless it heavily favors the killer. The silly part is slugging for the 4k, you don't need to 4k. I don't see anything being added to the 2v1 unless it dramatically favors the killer side, otherwise it will be lambasted and never see the light of day, at which point we just end up with the same problem just in a different way.

While I agree that survivor is a team game and I don't consider it a win if I get hatch and my team dies I have seen too many people argue that its a team game when it benefits them and that it isn't when it benefits them. Its a team game when the survivors lose or you want to call a survivor bad but a solo game when talking about escape rates and what constitutes the survivor winning. Its whichever best fits their current argument. It also means that the killer needs to accept that just because they killed someone that doesn't make them better than that specific player.

Bro i want 4k to win. Who said you don't need it? You get merciless killer and pretty sure its required for iridiscent emblem. You get MORE for getting 4k. Thats already enough reason for wanting it. Maybe last survivor should also be auto-sacrificed because 3 escapes is already a win for survs and entity doesn't want poor killer to feel bad?

Also i dont mind survivors winning, but only when its fair win, 5 genning and opening exit gates, not win button spawning under their butt.

It's also a slasher movie simulator.

Ever heard of the Final Girl trope? Pretty common.

Doesn't even need to be a girl, necessarily. Ash for example is a male Final Girl.

It's just common in horror movies for all of the characters to die except 1, who then has to try to survive.

Sorry but i am yet to see a horror movie where character gets to escape thanks to hatch spawning right under their legs. Mind sharing?

MCs in those movies almost always have to put A LOT of effort or mindgaming to escape

it's called not being a wuss and just hook. hatch exists precisely to just end these kinds of standoffs but naturally it's the killer who has the problem and somehow twists it into thinking that the hatch is the reason they are stalling the match out.

heck, I usually don't mind dying. If I were against, say, a Pinhead I'd be more than happy to solve the box and let him take me if this were a respectful community. But all I'll get for the trouble is a slugging so you may as well play it safe and if they start slugging, drag it out

god, how its a killer problem? Killer has clear goal in the game-4k. The most efficient way to get it is slugging at 2 survs so latest one doesn't get to escape. Killer is WRONG for playing for their goal? Will you realize its a game mechanic that makes it the most efficient play and not killers being asses who want survivors to stay in the game for another 10 minutes?

So by your own admission, being a gen jockey and actually progressing the game for survivors is the person least deserving of hatch... I think someone just had a Freudian slip...

As matter of fact, yes, chases is literally most skill expresssive thing for survivors, player who makes a build around avoiding them just admits they are not as good in the game as others. Thats not bad, everyone free to choose their playstyle(there are killers who exclusively play nurse or ghoul). And i am not saying they do not deserve a win, but surely there is a reason other 3 teammates died?

  • @FerrousFacade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085150#Comment_4085150

So hatch should spawn sooner or both remaining survivors should have some reason to continue interacting with the game, like say a comeback mechanic or an alternate objective. Further extending the bad scenario by keeping slug for the 4k is just silly.

Also good job ignoring the scenario I described where the survivor does in fact deserve an escape.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085149#Comment_4085149

The insane thing is that anyone can reasonably think that slugging for the 4k is OK or healthy for the game. Anyone defending it proves they have zero care for the survivor experience in the game. Survivors can only abandon if everyone is hooked or downed, the entire rest of their team is bots, or they have been slugged without being hooked multiple times.

i agree with your first statement, there should be some alternative objective for survivors when 2 of them remains so they can actually put some effort instead of just hiding. I never said slugging is healthy, but game literally forces you if you want to guarantee 4k after a deserved win. Slugging at 2 survs is the most logical and rational thing possible if you are going for 4k. Only reason every killer doesn't do that because its massive waste of time. Thats what is actually silly.

Also at the end of the day for survivors its a team game, if your team loses you also should lose. It should't be allowed to take a deserved win for killer just because someone got unlucky with a team, well too bad bro, there are enough games that will allow your individual skill expression to matter more(or just play killer). "surv" side in the assymetrical genre isn't about that.

Idk about your matches but the last person in my killer matches is often the one I ignored because they were too good at chase and too much effort, so the best person gets the hatch if they find it before me.

as i said last person is either the one who stealthed whole game or stay whole game in the main building like garden of joy or swamp where i will waste enermous amount of time chasing them

  • @FerrousFacade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085141#Comment_4085141

Because it isn't a win for the survivor, its a safety valve for the match to end by giving them something to try for instead of just hiding.

There are also scenarios where the survivor does in fact deserve that escape and it wasn't zero effort. I have been the last survivor standing because the killer was completely unable to catch me in chase, my team went down but I didn't. These still regularly turn out in the killers favor since they either slug for the 4k or just find hatch before I do. Before the abandon update that scenario regularly had the killer hump you as if they beat you. Killer ego IS the problem in these scenarios.

    >ts a safety valve for the match to end by giving them something to try for instead of just hiding

Yeah absolutely it doesnt ever happen that 2 survivors remain and both just stealth hoping another one will be caught earlier than them so they can escape into a hatch. Never happens. Hatch is what saves us from that scenario… oh wait

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085141#Comment_4085141

How is being the last one alive zero effort? How is finding the hatch zero effort? How is staying hidden while the hatch hunt happens zero effort? All for no MMR for the survivor?

You can hide in a locker whole game and still be last one to survive. In fact, usually, the last one who stays is some gen jockey who never goes for unhooks and either repairs or stays in the bushes whole game which is not really the brightest skill expression you can have on surv side.

And you are not going to suggest hiding in a locker or ctrl in bush while killer is in chase with another surv/ finding a hatch is some insane skill expression? First one i can understand although you would be better off playing prop hunt if thats gameplay you find intensive. Second one is straight up just luck…

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085128#Comment_4085128

Hatch does not count as a win for a survivor. 99999 out of 100000 times a killer slugging for a 4k is not going for an achievement. Killer still gets the same amount of mmr with a 3k as they do for a 4k. Like I said, all ego.

Ego or not, you still didnt answer my question how is that fair that surv gets to escape with zero effort.

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085126#Comment_4085126

3k is a win, hatch means absolutely nothing. There's nothing stopping the killer from hooking the 3rd survivor. The only people slugging for 4k's are killer mains who tie their entire ego with being a good killer player lol.

    1. We have adepts and used to have tome challenges directly tied to 4k.

    2. Once again. Killer won a game. How is that fair that one surv gets to escape? With ZERO effort, in a LOST game, you might even get hatch spawn under your legs. Answer THAT question.

  • Remove hatch and replace it with some other objective that doesnt make last 2 survivors stealth hard. Calling for it for 3-4 years but somehow people still think giving win to a surv with 0% effort is a fair mechanic.

  • Why do people want m3gan? its too recent and not iconic at all. Stranger Things was actually super huge back when it released and its main theme/demogorgon might be close to being iconic at this point. Meanwhile i didn't hear about m3gan before randomly seeing it on dbd forum as suggested chapter.

    • Garten of banban level of shitpost
  • Difficulty and power level should have no correlation. People choose to play different killers for their design/power uniqueness. Otherwise we would have everyone playing ghoul or wesker(oh, wait….)

If people chose to play singularity, they probably like his design/lore/power. Not because he is strong. Making killer easier to play doesn't solve anything and most of the time just murders their uniqueness.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Not necessarily. Bubba never left despite the TCM game. And Myers and Pinhead might not have left because of their upcoming games, but that the potential resurgence in popularity thanks to those games means the IP holders wanted more money to renew than BHVR were willing to pay. We just don't know.

Pinhead definitely left because its owner hates bhvr, and also probably suggested some ungodly amount of money to let it stay. I dont see how dbd pinhead will draw away attention from single player game. Quite the opposite, honestly, I think a lot of younger audience know Pinhead through dbd.

  • God surv main takes in this thread are hilarious , at the very least people understand those usually will get them downvoted, killers truly should stop using this cheap cheese tactics called chase and hook.

Not a hot take, it was actually a popular sentiment when he got released. Scott Cawthorn was responsible for his power though, from everything we've heard he was pretty particular about STs entire design.

yes scott cawthon is the one who wanted simple ability design so springtrap fanbase can reasonably play him when they finally get back home after kindergarten. Something like Singulairty would be too difficult.

Respectfully , I think that kind of mindset is exactly what a positive system would be trying to push back against.

Saying “killers will never get rated unless they play friendly” or “survivors are always pissy with each other” is already framing the community as two opposing groups and generalizing them in the worst possible way, implying that all survivors are sown kind of toxic hivemind unable to comprehend good sportsmanship. That kind of thinking only pushes the division and negativity that I think should be discouraged in the first place.

Many people play both roles, and plenty of players can recognize skill, good sportsmanship, or a fun match regardless of which role they’re playing at that moment.

And to be clear, I’m not talking about a negative rating system. There wouldn’t be a “dislike” button or a way to punish people. There would be no “low ratings”. The idea is purely positive reinforcement. If you thought someone played well, was a good teammate, showed mercy when they didn’t have to , or simply made the match more enjoyable, you could choose to acknowledge that. If not, you do nothing, and nothing changes.

I don’t really see the downside in giving players more opportunities to recognize positive interactions rather than assuming everyone is going to be hostile all the time.

thats not mindset, thats my 1500h experience in this game.

When you 4k, survivors never ever write "gg", maybe once in 50 games. Why? because its frustrating to lose.

System you are suggesting works in team games. It would work for surv side, alright. But what you are suggesting just encourages killers to play friendly.

Also "Reward" should be just some iri shards or bloodpoints or rift points, like in overwatch. Definitely not something huge like cosmetics.

I'm not saying everyone are constantly hostile at each other, personally when i play surv i always acknowledge good players in aftergame chat. As killer, too. But you know what i dont ever do as a killer? Give free hatches. I always go for 4k. Would i ever get a like from survivor, even if i acknoweldge their skill after game? Doubt it. My steam profile is open, you want to know ratio of negative comments to positive comments? You dont EVER get positive comments in your profile if you dont give hatch to survivors or play friendly. Is it "good sportsmanship" you are talking about?

As i said, this system might work for survivors, if its exclusive to survivors maybe even tie some cosmetic rewards to it because survivors are supposed to play as a team anyway. But it won't ever work for a killer side because thats just a nature of unique asymmetrical genre.

  • Chucky because i feel like my chases against him last like 20 seconds since i cant see him, he has some incredible advantage in looping… although people say he's isn't strong so just me i guess.

Also wesker because buggy mess they call "techs" and his playerbase are tunnelers, i know that 90% i'm not escaping that trial

  • @hermitkermit said:

Hmm… not sure these are actually hot takes, but this is the internet, so I’m sure someone somewhere will be deeply offended lol.

    1. More cosmetic expression!

I know a lot of people hate the sillier cosmetics because they think it kills the horror vibe, but honestly, the art team almost always knocks it out of the park. It’s fun being able to dress your character how you want. Besides, there are already plenty of things in DBD that aren’t exactly horrorrealistic. We have neon scratch marks, glowing auras, and people getting impaled on hooks without dying of blood loss

    2. Encourage positive player interactions.

I’d love to see some kind of system that rewards good sportsmanship. Let players gift BP, items, charms, or make the thumbs up system actually mean something. Maybe enough positive ratings could earn cosmetics, BP bundles, or other rewards. Positivity should be encouraged, especially in a comunity that’s as passionate and famously divided as DBD

    3. The community has wildly unrealistic expectations of what a casual player should know.

This is probably my hottest take so it’s really long sorry.

DBD is a game that takes thousands of hours to become even competent at, and every new chapter adds even more knowledge to learn. We’re at a point where it’s almost unreasonable to expect a genuinely casual player to keep up.

There are over 40 killers, 300+ of perks, 22 status effects, 60+ maps, over 1,000 add-ons, and specific counterplay knowledge attached to all of it. Every map, every status effect, every killer, every add-on, every item has its own specific knowledge and counterplay about what it is, when/where to do it, and what you’re supposed to do depending on a hundred different variables.

That’s probably over 100 pages of reading material just to understand the basics of what’s in the game, and that’s before you’ve actually played a single match. Reading about something and doing it successfully are two completely different things.

If we want to attract and keep casual players,  not have such hardcore sweaty matches that aren’t just 4stack SWAT teams and 5 gen tunneling giga Blights we need to be honest about how much knowledge DBD actually demands. At some point it stops being “most people suck at DBD” and starts being “you can’t be casual and expect not to suck at DBD” and expecting causal players not to “suck” is unreasonable.

I don’t know how anyone can look at this game and think, “It’s not that hard dude. You only need to learn 400+ things and do them all well” there is no beginner mode, there is no practice arena, there is no slow dip in the pool. Everyone is thrown in the deep end at the same time and it’s getting deeper with every new chapter and yet some still scoff at how people are struggling to breach the surface.

TLDR; The game really needs to be more accessible for casual players, and a bit more forgiving, and a lot more informative. How that should be done is a separate discussion/issue, but this communities definition of casual is not casual in the slightest.

Second one idk bro, killer ratings will be oblivion unless they play friendly every gams. Survivors are also always pissy at each other unless they win(even if 1 person dies they still complain at each other and killer). Game is just wrong format for that kind of thing.

  • Its not like he's weak, its still m2 killer so already better than whole m1 cast.

    1. he's probably one of the hardest killers in the game, in some loops you will have to hit before actually seeing window/pallet, you need to know usual map layouts. Ans if you like that kind of gameplay springtrap/dracula/ST Vecna are just better.

    2. Way too slow, way too punished for missing m2. He used to have good tunneling potential, still does have more than most killers(maybe wesker is a bit better now), but his cages now have basekit BT.

Basically he's just way more effort than most killers with less results.

  • Main objective of survivors is to repair 5 gens and survive. Does sprint burst help with that? Definitely. Exhaustion perks are all about buying surv more time without(mostly) much effort.

There are survivor perks that straight up punish you for not tunneling like resurgence or deliverance. Those are far more problematic if we talk about tunneling encouragement.

  • @Krazzik said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3622045#Comment_3622045

But if they KNOW they have no realistic way of winning then they're probably still gonna just hide. Getting rid of hatch isn't going to stop people just hiding for ages.

Heck, even if you kill one of them and there's only one survivor left, what's to stop them just continuing to hide and keeping the game hostage?

what? for what? They get no bloodpoints. OF COURSE there are trolls, but if you are gaining nothing from it, number of people stealthing will reduce drastically. As i said im just proposing a existing problem of hatch mechanic, which is toxic, and makes people to just stealth, abandom their teammates, or slug in case of a killer.

  • @Krazzik said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3622016#Comment_3622016

To be fair even without hatch, if there's only two survivors left and they know they can't fix the gens they'll just hide anyway. What else is there to do at that point?

repair gen and chase with killer? as i said there is no reason to just stealth. Now there are reason as it gives you escape which is ultimate goal of every survivor game.

  • @pseudechis said:

If you think hide and seek is bad with hatch you should have tried the game without it. Oh boy that 4 mins bleed out timer will seem like a dream come true compared to the 30 min+ hostage situation of hiding survivors and no hatch.

Hatch and bleeding out are the mechanics that counter the very thing you are complaining about.

And why do you think those survivors hiding? Hatch is a cause of hiding problem. There is NO reason for survivor to just stealth and not repairing anything if hatch removed.

  • @GeneralV said:

I'm fine with the hatch as it is. There must be a chance for the last survivor to escape.

Although I do wish they had left the hatch grabs in when they made the changes.

this "chance" is just killer being too bored to slug for -4. If killer wants -4, he will get it because no way you wont find survivor until slugged person bleeds out, this happens very rarely.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't know what that has to do with what I wrote. I'm just saying it doesn't make you do that. I certainly don't.

BTW, and only asking because I'm curious, besides the existing anti-face camp mechanic what have they annoyed is coming in regards to tunneling & camping?

they said 3-gen "solution" is coming, and we had basekit borrowed time added to survivors. If you dont have to do this, that doesnt mean this is isnt a problem. Why are they fixing facecamp if its player decision to facecamp or not? Because its a problem, just like a hatch.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/401774/hatch-mechanic-is-toxic-and-should-be-removed-reworked

I"It makes two last survivors to just stealth instead of repairing gens." it doesn't make you do that at all. It's a choice for you to do that.

same can be said for 3-genning, tunneling, camping, etc... but we are getting "solutions" for those problems from devs for some reason.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    And what is solution?

If they remove hatch, how killer will finish the game when only one survivor left? What will stop them to hide and waste killer's time

As practice shows devs create their own solutions instead of taking things suggested by community, so im just showing a problem.

Nothing stops them, but at least last two survivors will try to play a game and repair gens instead of hiding. Im thinking of something like passive sole survivor which activates when there is 2 survivors left(doesnt work for 3), but as i said solution itself i up to devs.

While DH could be exchanged for another exhaustion, this build covers all bases and is still strong, especially while staked on all players.

Im not saying this build is weak, in fact you could have used same build from late 2016 to the present day and it would be strong(decisive strike, borrowed time, sprinter, unbreakable). But buckle up+for the people is ultimate meta right now.

  • this is not meta right now... buckle+for the people is a absolutely best perks and combination in the game. If there is team for the people+buckle up-they are probably not tryhards.

  • game is survivor sided, and it is rational decision cause you need four times more players playing as survivor. 70% of killers are destroyed if playing against equal skill survivor. But thats okay i guess because if you improve you will destroy most games as killer(although dont expect to win against 5k hours party as Michal)

  • @xEa said:

I apologise for the provocative titel, but i want to point out a simple fact that apparently nobody puts into account.

Killer mains are compared to survivor mains in terms of knowdledge and skill not on the same level. They cant be. At least the majority. So what do i mean by that:

    Practice makes perfect!

A survivor main with 5000 hours played survivor for 5000 hours. Duh! (for simplicity reason we ignore for both sides that they also spent a little bit of time playing the other side)

A killer main with 5000 hours is a completly different thing. Many, if not the majority of players have multible or even all killers on their roster. Learning 34 different killers in 5000 hours is a completly different thing then just learning one.

A good example is a streamer named Abs0lutly T4lented (name is changed). He is overall a good killer with lots of hours (8000~) but compared to the players he sometimes faces, he looses way to often since he is rotating through all the killers constantly. If he is playing all day, he can maybe play every single killer once a day.

Therefore he wont get on the absolute top level on any killer, but stays mediocre on all of them. He is constantly complaining that it is so hard against those survives, but he does not realise that he is just not as experienced. When you have on average just 200 hours on lets say the Doctor (in a timespan of 7 years), you can not expect to win against 5000+ hours survivor mains.

On the other hand, killer mains who play only 1 killer DESTROY survivors. Even people who exclusivly playing Trapper for thousends of hours are dominating with hundreds of wins in a row. The difference really shows.

I think this should be considered to ballancing and especially to what we want for the game. It is easy to forget that survivors put a shitload of time into that one single character (every survivor is exactly the same) and whe i as a killer with the same hours playing ALL kinds of killer wont win all the time, it has a reason.

    Thats it.

    Kind regards

You give example of how 5000 hour survivor should destroy any killer because of how their less experience. But SWF with 5000 hours destroys any trapper player, even best one in the world, with 10000 hours experience. Thats just ignoratio elenchi. Problem is that most killer cant win against survivor of the same leve, its a FACT. Michael, Ghost, Wraith, Trapper, Doctor, etc... they just wont win against equal SWF party.

Ofcourse 1272 games are not showing everything but this is only data we can get atm. And it being confirmed several times their data is closer to BHVR's data.

And considering this data we got, Chucky is not even top 5. He is good killer, there is no doubt about that but there is really not issue about him.

He is just strong anti-loop killer but you can counter his power. His turning is very much limited, so when you figure out his hit range, you can make some turns to make him miss and make him lose power. If you have any LoS breaker, that's also works againts him. And when he miss, his cooldown is really long which is fair cuz he has strong power.

His other advantage is being short but this countered by aura of footsteps. When you learn to read them, you can drop pallets safely or jump vaults.

He is very much closer to Wesker by strength-wise. Strong but not problematic level.

nightlight, while the only data we can get, is in no way accurate source.

    1. its a new killer. Thats enough really.
    2. Probably one of the strongest killers right now
    3. Quite easy to play, unlike Blight or Nurse, and not buggy mess like Wesker.
  • HAHAHAHA, twins rework only in spring? Seriously? First you say in QA that twins long-awaited rework is just "number adjustments", then you dont even bother to release it this year? dont get me wrong, DbD is going amazing right now, but tf BHVR, you shouldnt just ignore it.

Rewarding the killer for not tunneling isn't going to make them not tunnel. You need both the carrot and the stick. Without the stick, there's no reason to take the carrot.

it will. When better option appears, it replaces older worse option, even if the latter doesnt change at all. If dev give something that grants same amount of advantage as tunneling, without disrupting other people gameplay (and main problem of tunneling doesnt that it gives too much advantage to killer, but that it gives extremely negative experience to tunelled person, especially if he is lower skill then the killer), most people will use it.

The two-part system of disincentivizing tunneling by giving other survivors bonuses would mitigate the issue substantially and the additional incentive for anti-tunneling (slightly slower repair time) would make tunneling at five generators just silly.

I understand tunneling has to be done in order to win some games but tunneling at five gens is just tedious and exhausting to face and even witness in solo queue.

no, that punishes killer for doing his objection. Like, if someone intentionally bites killer by constantly flashlighting, spamming loud actions, bodyblocking etc...? Killer hooks him-other survivors the bonuses and toxic person is the winning one. Amazing. You should reward killer for not tunneling, but punishing just means survivors will abuse it hard.

Irrelevant, it belongs to a character that was released in early 2020 so the perk was not used as bait for people to buy a new chapter.

so your question basically "lets find out which perks bhvr uses to bait people for chapter"? IMO its more relevant to killers, almost all new killers have at least 1 strong perk worth getting. Except skull merchant i guess.

  • Light-footed, people really underrate this perk... Its always annoying for me when surv has it against me, and its always funny how easy it is to escape chases with it.

Can we switch it so that we can carry a tape and still be able to use our item? Kinda dumb that I m forced to play the whole match without being able to use it cuz let's be real, has anybody ever played vs an Onryo that doesn't spam teleport the entire match?

i dont spam teleport entire match!

  • Well, demo not anymore rarest killer, twins get their deserved first spot.

I've played more killer than survivor in my time of being on DBD, I can say with some confidence that if you're willing to put in the work to learn another killer and test their limits, you'll find that not all of the killers are bad (except for Pig, needs a nerf). I also don't take the game super competitively.

Current SM is a nightmare to deal with in uncoordinated lobbies and I don't feel like playing like I'm in Eternal 24/7 vsing a SM, when I do play survivor.

Honestly im really bored of this copium "if you put work and keep trying, you will make every killer good!"

Thats just straight up false. Onepunchwilly, BEST Onryo player in the world got destroyed by random SWF party(before rework). You cant make weak killers work, theyre weak, yes you can destroy solos survs or just bad SWFs, but thats it. Right now with ptb changes skull merchant goes into the freddy level garbage, even lower.

Yes, there are killers that have high skill floor and they will be geniunely good if you put work into them, like Singularity(who is still probably getting destroyed by high skill SWF) and Blight. But most of them arent like that. I dont want to have another garbage killer in the game just because survivors are crying. And what is funny its probably survivor mains themself who play skull merchant boring builds, because every killer main ive spoken with, either dont play SM, or plays something interesting like Hex build, and not "overcharge, oppression, eruption, sloppy butcher".

Many people have been complaining about SM's rework so far, saying "wow, she went from a boring, busted killer to being utter trash."

I played the PTB SM for more than five minutes, so I can say with a little confidence that her rework is absolutely fine, she needs some QOL changes and tuning regarding her power cooldown, but here's the deal.

New SM allows you to actually be a chase killer now, because that's precisely what she's meant to be. Claw Traps are objectively better now than what they used to be, and they allow you not only to close the gap in chases (with the hinder and the Deep Wound mechanic countering things like Dead Hard and OTR), meaning you can reliably snowball as opposed to putting four drones on gens and the Claw Trap being a mild annoyance to survivors.

Will she be strong? No, but that's OK. Although I did prefer if they kept the stealth in Active Drone areas idea, that was fun for mindgames. Otherwise? Great job, BHVR. You made a buffable Killer. 👍️

AKA hot take: im survivor main and having another trash killer is good thing.
