  • nah dbd has really nice monetization, with payback battlepass and regional prices(prices in my region fit salaries well). Only bad thing is FOMO but its comebacks every year and theres almost no skins that wont return ever.

  • honestly its just disgusting how game is survivor sided, starting with game itself, and ending with obvious dev bias. How much it took to nerf Thana? And how much it took to nerf dead hard? its really disgusting.

So talking about a killer that's incredibly controversial, I'll be honest and straight up. Yes I play her in a 3 gen defence way, to me there's no other way of playing her effectively. If you're playing a chase playstyle then you're effectively shooting yourself in the foot so to speak.

So I'm unfortunately one of those people who can't help but have somewhat of a competitive mindset. It's not that I don't mind loosing, I'd just much prefer a 3k and move onto next match. That to me is a win condition. Yes I know I could do that with nurse, spirit, other S tiers or even A tier killer's. But at time's when I mess up constantly, I feel like it just gets to me if that makes sense? It messes me up even more and I end up just being pretty unhappy playing the game, especially when people message me saying stuff like "gg ez killer". I don't mind messages but it get old after a while.

So why did i bring this stuff up? Now I love playing her because I find it just incredibly relaxing, now I'm not taking away the fact that it's incredibly boring or unfair to face, that's a whole other issue. But something about just listening to a podcast or some music while chilling and playing dbd feels nice. Yes I know the killer gets alot of backlash due to this playstyle, but I'm not doing it to be malicious or mean, or to even sour someone's mood. I like doing it because it's something I find relaxing to do and not having to stress or worry feels so good.

So if you've read this far, I do apologise for posting quite a lengthy post, I do understand how frustrating it is to see someone enjoy a playstyle that is widely despised, but I do hope by reading this you can see the point of the topic. While I can understand how it is to face something like this, I also hope you can understand the other side of the coin.

Thank you for reading this, I once again apologise for such a length post. <3

    >So I'm unfortunately one of those people who can't help but have somewhat of a competitive mindset

    >But something about just listening to a podcast or some music while chilling and playing dbd feels nice.

BRO WHAT? Do you even know what competitive mindset means? Competitive mindset- someone who is annoyed by loses, so he improves to be the very best and never lose. Someone with competitive mindset doesnt play to "chill and relax". Of course, sometimes they do want to just chill, but its more of an exception. In fact, someone with competitive mindset will probably find your playstyle boring, because it doesnt involve skill or mindgaming.

What youre saying is very common annoyance by lose, everyone felt that until they strarted to treat DbD as entertainment or improved.

Besides, just go and play Spirit, shes chill and not difficult at all killer, but very strong at the same time. Yeah you cant listen to music, but its much faster and you get more of actual DbD gameplay from that.

They will nerf Xeno as soon as they hit their target sales of the DLC, guarantee it. Then move onto making the next poweful killer for the next DLC, wait until everybody that buys that, then nerf that, and so on.

this doesnt work like this, bruh. Like what a last time we got "powerful" killer not counting Alien? its wesker who literally glitched into TIER A killers. And they didnt nerf him.

Yes, that is an accurate display of it being Wesker's fault and not the gamer behind said killer who does it 🤡 or the Ash standing there next to him as well. Nope, all on Wesker.

you dont understand, he does not bodyblock me, he literally threw me there with his ability and im stuck and cant move. His ability is most glitched things in the game, even more then twins

  • just got a game against wesker after a long time and he just locked me inside a texture. Now im even more conviced Xeno is a blessing.

I dont know why anyone would say THIS is better then Xeno. We live in different worlds.

Pop is only back into meta NOW. It was totally absent aber 6.1 patch

DH was way over 50% pickrate before 6.1, took a nose dive after 6.1, survivors adepted to it, making it strong again, and dipped down to 8% after tha lst nerf. It's still strong, esp. with Mft, but I wouldn't call it meta anymore. Even in Mft Builds, Resi, Hope or windows are used way more.

DS was also at insane pick rate before 6.1, and is down to 4% now (according to Nightlight). Even nerfed Iron Will has a highe pick rate (5%). That totally matches with my experience, there's hardly any lobby with one DS, not to mention two of it. Still strong, but far from Meta right now.

Only Iron Will being "lost"? When did you see BT the last time? Basekit BT makes the perk basically irrelevant. Pickrate of 2%.

The Meta Perks before 6.1, DS, DH, BT and IW, ALL got hit pretty hard (DH took some more tries, granted), and all are below 10% pick rate now. Down from 50%+ pick rate.

People really underrate BT. You basically give 26 seconds of speed boost and invulnerability to ANYONE you are saving. Its only save perk that works after last gen repaired. Its not bad and definitely not out of meta.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

DbD become very different game after 6.1.0 update. Both sides lost their meta perks. Both sides got some base-kit buffs.

So if you compare pre-6.1.0 DbD with current DbD, which one you would prefer?

Both sides lost their meta perks.

    Haha, really?

best and most used gen-regression perk before 6.1.0- pop goes the weasel VS best gen-regression perk now-pop goes the weasel.

best and most used exhaustion perk before 6.1.0- dead hard VS best and most used exhaustion perk before its recent nerfs-dead hard.

Best and most used second chance perk before 6.1.0- decisive strike VS most used second chance perk now(not counting dead hard as second chance perk)- decisive strike.

INCREDIBLE LOSES, only meta perk that got truly nerfed and "lost" in 6.1.0.- iron will. Barely see it nowadays.

  • they couldnt care less about knight, his rainbow addon is still broken and doesnt block survivors from exit, been like this since winter, his balance changes are probably generated by AI because no dev wants to touch him after release.

Why does everyone always assume stuff like this? Very pessimistic assumption. I've always been all for Survivors being different. The fact they're all just skins still boggles my mind as its an extremely lame part of the experience that could pull in more people if it was expanded upon.

we already have living example which is Identity V where every survivor is unique, and thaths what happens there. In ranked at least.

But i love the idea of survivor having to use 1 of his signature perks in his build, in fact thats what i always do, so playing every survivor feels bit unique, and lets you to explore new perks as well(yeah there are adept, but thats bit different). Maybe even give small buffs if perk youre wearing is signature.

Since we dont have ranked mode, i doubt people will go super sweaty like in IDV and play only survivors with meta signature perk, although amount of megs and dwights will definitely increase, even when its already most popular survs.

It does far more damage to the game than is immediately apparent.

It promotes lobby dodging on both sides, but mainly Killer. This negatively impacts matchmaking in a MASSIVE way. Not only that, but it helps cultivate a culture where people who dare to dedicate time to something get BM'd in many fashions

it does not, i play killer mainly and can say for sure survivor prestige has zero correlation to his skill level. I can obliterate full p100 lobby(happened only twice, but still, both were 4k for me), horribly lose to zero prestige.

If i ever dodge, its when i have 4 survivors with the same skin. It does not neccesary mean its SWF that will destroy me, but its just annoying to deal with them, since you cant memorize them having exhaustion perk, BT, etc...

  • @Biscuits said:

As survivor MMR is pushed lower and lower by everyone playing Xeno. If this keeps up, in a few weeks you won't be able to play any other killer without getting completely demolished. MMR inflation is real.

isnt mmr supposed to solve exactly that problem??

  • he is not strong just really annoying, if you do not have turret near, he just presses power into windows/pallet, if misses just blocks with his body and you die anyway. IMO they should make his crawler mode hitbox smaller.

I think there's more they can do with SAW

Just look at Killer powers and Perks that are in the game already

    Pyramid Head's cages

    Wiretap

That new one that can trap Pallets (I can't remember the name... nor have I learned it... LOL)

I can think of a few new things for SAW chapters

yeah now come up with something other then "m1 killer with some trap gimmick that wont help in chases anyway"

  • @RaSavage42 said:

I wish but no... even if they would be skins it wouldn't make much sense

They could release a 2nd SAW chapter though

i really doubt it... while it is obvious that SAW collab is extremely active, like Resident evil one(a lot of new cosmetics, whole tome chapter), theres not much you can do with SAW killers.

  • @Smoe said:

Unlikely to happen as dbd has never done any tie-in content in the past for new movie releases related to a franchise they have a license for.

A survivor could just bring Saboteur and set the turrets near any Scourge Hooks and potentially cancel out a killer perk. Or even just near any hooks closest to the gens being worked on.

    imagine bully squads... no

  • @JudithMorel said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3528160#Comment_3528160

this shouldnt be a thing, in most matches the turrets dont actually do anything so we all just get slugged for the 4k because the tail is literally stupid strong.

tail its literally nemesis tentacle, same counter, same workaround. Just change direction unpredictably, fake windows vaults, etc... usually works, but its just day 1, so idk if xenomorphs will learn to use power somehow more effeciently in future.

  • 99% of xenomorphs use or will use 2 anti-turret addons, so yeah, just think of them as distraction for killer that may sometimes help

  • i hope they utilize those gas traps in future maps and map reworks... so unique honestlz

  • @Nos37 said:

Or they could remove whatever is distinguishing the two genders.

Make very survivor use the exact same code and framework. Make genders just skins.

gender distiguishing exists only because of clown memento mori. Kill switching it definitely an option. They can also consider removing it entirely, which of course upset, but what can you if you cant code it properly

  • bro, main building has LITERAL infinite, and devs do nothing about it. If you play m1, you have no choice but to abandon every surv who goes to abuse main.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Not much to this.

I don't think the game can be played at an average casual level anymore. I don't think you can really come home from a long day at work and play a couple of games on either role without the game being more trouble than it's worth.

Whether it's problematic Killer designs that are unfun to play against (Legion and Twins), overtuned characters (Blight and Nurse), Skull Merchant or even just the Killer being outright better than you, the casual Survivor experience is bad.

Whether it's teams that force you to play tactically and try hard, people who abuse certain bugs, people who just like to be frustrating (Boil Over) or just plain good teams; the causal Killer experience isn't much better.

I think that should change for both roles. I don't think you should need to sink 6 hours into a play session whilst being hyper-aware and uber competitive in order to have a chance to have fun.

that's just not true, of course you can have troubles while playing against team, 99% of time i can win with tunneling and camping

  • @catslayer said:

not sure about y'all but before she wasn't this..."fast" at killing survivors. literally every player that plays her will keep spamming her tv teleporting, increasing our level until we get that red circle around our icons & then suddenly getting moried/insta-killed by her. yes, carrying tapes at the start do work but then she hits you and you immediately lose it; and when you do try to take a new tape, she suddenly teleports right to the tv that you're trying to take a tape from, making it impossible to do anything. and then she just chases you until you're already at the "death" level. suggestions? as for me, she's really boring since it's just "run back and forth, then the same cycle over again". how does she even know when i'm trying to take a tape and then immediately teleports right to me?

pick casette at the game start and learn to loop. You won't perform much better against any other killer then Onryo if m1 killer hits you so easily.

It should have been claire and chris for the wesker chapter but bvhr wasted them for dumb reasons

well they already were legendary skins, that's why. As Chris main it would be really cool to have him as separate character, but no.

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502442#Comment_3502442

Exactly at least if not sheva then chris whose main nemesis wesker is.

Chris would be obviously much better option, but we had him as legendary skin first RE chapter so i doubt they'd make him separate character.

  • @Smoe said:

Buying another layer of skins for existing skins is a no for me.

yeah that's true, total bullshit would be if they just add it as another legendary cosmetic with the same price. There should be at least good discount for original legendary owners, which either makes it cost the same as rare skin, or maybe even little cheaper cause legendary themself are little overpriced.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Probably James is the least popular one, so they maybe want to boost his sells.

But this is very greedy and bad decision ofcourse. This charm should be unlocked for everyone who bought at least one legendary Silent Hill skin.

no way main protagonist of the most popular SH game is the least popular skin.

  • @DEMONANCE said:

i doubt she'd popular as rebecca she's pretty bland imo

no she isn't, re5 is the most selling RE game ever, so a lot of people would know her. I understand why we got Leon over Carlos and Chris cause he's the most popular RE character and protagonist of both RE2 and RE4 remakes which are the most recent releases. But Rebecca and Ada in Wesker chapter? doesn't make sense, even if we count that Ada was close Wesker ally(doesnt even appear in RE5) and Rebecca KINDA faced Wesker in RE1(not really). It should've been Sheva to represent WESKER game, like we got Jill to represent NEMESIS game.

why not? we have Anime characters, like Oni as Armored Titan and Spirit as Warhammer Titan (and he is not a superhero)

it's just a skins, not separate killers. Also they kinda fit i think, unlike literally comic superhero

  • they should overhaul legendary skins so they're counted like separate characters and can use their own cosmetic.

  • pyramid head, obviously

  • please no comic superheroes in dbd, also this guy looks like second wesker.

  • made for this, adrenaline+exhaustion perk+pretty much anything. If you want meta- Like repairing-deja vu, like chasing- resilence or windows, like saving and healing- we will make it.

  • it's totally fine, necessary for m1 killer to even compete in higher ranks, otherwise you cant even kill anyone because they constantly bodyblock each other. Also good tool to punish survivors who are too brave and for save when there's killer near hook.

  • i need video montage where billy flies into space from farm or something like that into Alien map

  • i really like him, killing survivors with your own hand and unique hooks is cool, but his addons is as*, he has only 2 good addons for ability lenght that everyone use. He needs total addons overhaul, otherwise i think he is pretty fine. Survivor can just pretty much ignore tormenting, mostly this will result in falling faster, but i believe it's still better then getting moried or tunneled.

  • @Melinko said:

Get Jason Voorhees. No other license matters till you get this one.

I get it, it's an enormous franchise that has defined the horror genre in the 80's, but I personally do not think a Xenomorph, nor any of the crew on the Nostromo would fit in this game. We just got a sci-fi/space chapter, so including another back-to-back isn't great.

There are plenty of contenders who stand higher up on the requested chapter roster, but none stand higher than what the current generation of mascot horror has bestowed upon us. Give us Jumbo Josh.

    It's what the streets demand.

At the start of the match sure but you quickly start running into TVs being turned off due to someone else putting a tape in or Onryo teleporting to it. If she spreads out the hits which destroy the carried tapes it can be difficult to keep up with making sure everyone has tapes while making any real gen progress.

Onryo teleported TVs recover really fast, good luck "spreading out hits" as m1 killer without chase ability against at least mediocre survivors.

  • @SirCracken said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3500966#Comment_3500966

Michael - Extremely outdated and underpowered killer that only becomes useful with Tombstone Piece

Leatherface - Power is mostly used to face-camp

Freddy - Quite possibly the weakest killer in the game

Ghostface - A good stealth killer with a very awkward reveal mechanic

Demogorgon - Good chase power with mediocre map traversal

Pyramid Head - Extremely clunky chase power and underwhelming status effect gimmick

Nemesis - Good anti-loop but mutation mechanic handicaps his power at the start of a match and his zombies are often useless

Pinhead - Landing hits with his power isn't rewarded enough and his box meta-game leads to long matches

Wesker - Easily one of the best killers ever released with good chase potential, map traversal, and passive slow-down

Onryo - Recently had her skill ceiling butchered and made playing "Condemn Only" extremely easy and unsatisfying

Pig - Power entirely reliant on RNG that can either be a non-threat or gives you free kills along with bad stealth and ambush power

There's absolutely no consistency between licensed killers in terms of quality. They are all over the place.

Onryo is the weakest killer in the game right now, just wait for people to realize that taking casette at the start of the game is enough to 100% counter her ability, it's even easier then countering singularity.

  • @SirCracken said:

Just a reminder that out of the last 3 killers released only 1 of them wasn't universally panned for their design, Singularity. And even he isn't very popular because of how much time and practice you need to do well with him.

Modern DbD killers being well designed might as well be up to a coin-flip.

I'm not saying you should expect the killer to be bad. Just that the people designing him also made Skull Merchant. So you should bear that in mind as the PTB is released in the near-future.

i dont agree with you at all, i would even say Singularity is only bad killer design from the latest ones, because of how ez his ability countered by survivor and how difficult it is to execute it as killer. SM is just mediocre but still good, Knight is really good killer, Wesker ability design IS good, but by their execution of it, it's probably the worst ability in the game, because of how much it relyes on bugs and lazy texture hitboxes.

Alien is the biggest license to ever come in DBD, i'm pretty sure they'll nail it.

  • @luvcraft said:

The adding time to aura reads part is OK, but the showing the survivors at the beginning of the match is such a HUGE advantage. Makes me feel like I'm cheating.

no it isn't, it's necessary tool for higher ranks so you wont end your first chase at 3-2 gens(and even with pursuer it's often 3 gens). I won't agree to pursuer nerf unless corrupt basekit.

  • @tech said:

since he is now a possibility what if they made him into a legendary skin for Skull Merchant

    right...
