He's not outdated, he's just well-designed and well-balanced.

honestly my guess is just kill rate. Since she’s an extremely hard killer to play, and most people will flock to her because they looked up best killer in DBD this ends up with a lot of people, not knowing how to play her and just end up, losing causing low kill rates.
There is no "extremely hard killer to play" in DBD and if there was one it would be Billy. There also are several killers with both lower and higher kill rate than her at all MMR ranges so statistics can't be a major reason.
-
It's one of those hills that they refuse to stop dying on. They are really proud of their beloved "aim-dressing", for whatever reason.
-
In Nurse's case it has to be because of preferential treatment. There's no other reasonable argument able to explain why she still is allowed to be an Overwatch character in DBD after almost a decade.
-
No offense but Knight is a more than decent killer already.
-
It doesn't prioritize daily play at all. You can effortlessly complete every single available quest in it in like 2 evenings.

Outdated info. Latest Q&A revealed they are working on an update for him.
Not even outdated, it's just straight up misinformation I'm pretty sure.
-
A+ tier receiving nothing nothing but buffs was not enough love already? And they apparently are already fixing the bugs.

Twins doesn't function properly in 1v4. If they add them to 2v8 the glitches will reach through the screen and start punching the players irl LOL
They were functioning properly for most of their lifespan, to be fair. I don't remember having any issues with the killer in 2021-23.
-
"At this point" = the past 9 years.
-
I wish I would be getting tunneled every match. More fun than doing gens.
-
The game doesn't any major universal changes and tunneling doesn't need to be "fixed". You always could fix it. By getting better at the game.
-
No PvP online game is not-competitive. You can treat it as such if you want but don't expect it to be the norm.
-
Just pick Wraith with the 60% addon.
-
Honestly, I'm okay with 12% Pain Res but the token system should be done away with, then.

Wouldn't Lampkin Lane have been enough?
Haddonfield already got improved pallet density like a month ago, actually.

They gave Killers basekit regression for spreading hooks. Of course BHVR was going to nerf regression perks. No one should be surprised by this outcome.
Indeed but 5% makes the perk pretty much pointless now. There are so many better alternatives. Probably should have reworked it, honestly.
-
2v8 never is fun. Well, killer is but the queue times make it not fun.
-
@ForumPikmin said:
Honestly not really that surprising, it was a meme build completely dependent on playing a certain map.
Scratched was a meme build. Vanity, not so much.
-
"You will play ze game the way we want!" - BHVR
-
Twins have always been in need of nerfs, if anything. Anti-slug features don't significantly impact the killer. Never did.
-
For 9 years the biggest problem in dbd was not actually addressing the issue of tunneling
Yes, killers kiling survviors truly was the biggest problem of DBD. Why would anybody queue up survivor to do anything but epic skillchecks.
-
@TheGoone said:
I think it's nice Survivors get basekit Tenacity.
However I believe 90 seconds until you can pick yourself up is to long and a more fair time would be 60 seconds
If anything it's too short. Be happy with 90.
-
The survivor rulebook truly wasn't an urban legend.
-
They're currently making 1v4 more "fun and chill" for peep like you, cheer up.

I hope they return maps and keys to what they were before, and remove fog vials and map offerings
some day…
There's as much chance of it to happen as there is for Clown. Their ego simply can't bear the reality that all those reworks were failures.

The survivor handholding is strong with this one
Yeah, this whole anti-tunneling paragraph was absolutely cringeworthy to read. Can't really blame BHVR though. There's always been a massive demand from Dunning-Krudger'd TikTok/Twitter surv mains and they're catering to it. At least killers get benefits from not commiting a t-word but the handholding truly feels patronizing and pathetic. At this rate, killer role will have rail shooter gameplay by 2035.

When they do non dash killers they get complained about until they get nerfed into uselessness or reworked into a dash killer. Look at all of the "most hated killers" and almost all of them (outside of recent ones like ghoul) were always about the "non dash" killers:
- Twins
- Old Skull Merchant
- Release Knight
- Sadako
- Singularity
- Springtrap
In what world do you live in where Sadako, Singu and Spring are among the most hated killers in the game?
-
Tunneling does not require fixing because it is not a problem to begin with. The goal of killers is to chase and kill survivors as fast as possible. Get better at the game if you dislike getting tunneled, you'll suddenly enjoy it a lot more.

You really want to tell me that a 2% increase movespeed on his ability without addons "destroyed clown and made him OP"?
Like really?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3986659#Comment_3986659
But before he was too weak THATS exacly why they buffed him. Is everything okey with you? I mean how do you even think about "solutions" like that?
Is that irony? Clown wasn't much weaker than he is now. And was significantly better designed as a killer. By the way, the rework was very likely solely due to how much survivors dislike going against him (and yes, this resulted into a complete failure, to nobody's surprise besides BHVR designers).
-
Casual surv players find it less stressful. Nobody notices it when their chase lasts 20 secs.
-
She should get 7 blinks back, honestly. She's a a below average killrate killer after all, stats don't lie!
-
Someone at BHVR must be really proud of what they did with Clown and is using all of their influence to keep it in the game no matter what.

Unless his mage hand is still bugged, you should not be stunned after lifting the pallet but with the current patch i wouldn't be surprised if the bug came back.
I heard that the Trickster gloves add-on did prevent this bug from happening.
It didn't "come back", it never left. The patch that was supposed to remove it actually made it more reliable than ever to do, and that was over 2 months ago now.
-
Wesker has never ever been close to be as strong as Kaneki under any circumstances.

Game is killer sided if you play the 8 best killers nurse ghoul blight Dracula Billy spirit Twins vecna?
Thats the issue with balance. Some killers are just really good and others meh
On the contrary, DBD killer balance is actually pretty good, aside from a few outliers (Nurse, Blight, Ghostface, Sadako…). DBD is killer-sided in public matches even with Skull Merchant, not because of the strength of the killers but mainly because of how unoptimized the gameplay of the vast majority of the playerbase is. And at an average/low level, killer naturally is the stronger role.
-
Is this a serious question…? Wesker is a mid tier killer, Kaneki is a (low) S tier one.

I don't play Clown, I am pretty sure most players were able to win their games even before his change…
But you want to tell me you consider current Clown stronger than Nurse, or Blight?
Oi, you went from "overall" to Nurse and Blight. Gaslighting much? 😏

I still see clowns using purple bottles you can usually escape against these ones, but the knowers you can't do anything against, only use yellow, rapid brutality+STBFL, hard tunnel someone asap it's very very hard to counter this
the fact they didn't hotfix him in the same patch with fog vials is really laughable I have to say, please lil bros start playing your own game
Purples can still be useful to prevent a rushed vault but that's about it. Even on release yellow bottles were more used than purples now are. BHVR designers truly have a special talent for creating problems by fixing problems that didn't exist.

I own Vecna and he's one of my most played killers. Definitely strong, unique and fun to play as and against.
I only have 2 gripes.
His add-on diversity is worse than before his buffs.
The fly ability should be slightly slower or have a longer cooldown. The ability does make him sometimes a bit annoying to face.
So you don't mind survivors being able to drop your mage-handed pallet into your face?

It would also benefit the Balkans and south-eastern Europe to have a server based in Turkey. That would also lessen the load on the current EU server, which is located in the Netherlands if I am not wrong. It is close enough to serve western, central and Northern Europe with reasonable ping.
From my own experience, I get around 40-50 ping when playing on that server. When considering that my location in Northern Norway is pretty far away from the server, it is not that bad.
Even a Turkey-based server could work as a backup solution for the EU region, if anything were to go haywire with the normal EU servers, as I am in the 80-ping range towards Turkey.
Hell, I also consider <120 ping to be acceptable for DBD, when playing with @HeroLives on the US East servers. Granted, some killer abilities are harder to dodge than others at higher ping, but it is manageable. There is no AWS server in Turkey. The most Eastern European server there is is Stockholm (which should have been the one added to DBD, instead of London). And no, 120 ping is never acceptable. When you're used to proper pings even 50 killer ping feels unfair to go against.

Funny is Clown kinda shows it's simply impossible for lower tier killers match top tier killers in general.
He is miserable to play against, yet still worse then best killers overall. Lack of map pressure is simply too big of a deal.
He has access to the best map pressure in the game; fast chases. If you struggle with him (including with his few previous versions) then that's not a Clown issue. Respectfully.
-
Imo Vecna is currently very strong(high A-tier)
I mean, if the lowest possible tier in your list is A- then sure, lol.

Because it used to take 2.5 and more recently 2 seconds for the yellow bottles to activate so they had to be thrown a long way ahead to be worthwhile to use. It was very rare to play against a Clown that used them well. Now though it's just brain dead no skill play with haste stacking add ons and perks. Completely killed any skill with Clown.
Well then you agree that it's not the 2% that matters, despite what OP implies. They dumbed down Clown so much that every peon can now do what above average Clowns already could mostly do for the past 2 years. Hell, could also argue that previous yellow Clown was sometimes stronger than current one thanks to Cigar Box actually being a thing.
-
He was 25% faster for the past few years before this update. Why weren't you complaining, then?
-
I'll be honest, I value visibility considerably more than "immersion". I don't play a multiplayer PvP game for "immersing" myself, especially past the first few hours.
