  • Too bad the killrates don't have any meaning anymore ever since the introduction of all those sanctioned DCs.

It's a mechanic called "favor the shooter." Basically, he already saw you and locked on to you with the attack before you made it behind the wall. The rest is just an animation to mask the hit which is part of the game's theatrics. It's working as intended and completely fine; you are complaining about visuals and not objective game balance.

Trust me, even from Ghoul's PoV there are questionable hits very frequently.

  • I'm facing nothing but the sweatiest nurses, ghouls and blights

Sure you are. I've lost count on the number of times I've witnessed whiny players making such claim for the past 5 years.

So, first reason — He is 4.4 killer with huge slowdown with need to reload. He is heavily punished for every miss. He also need to inflict some kind of slowdown on survivors then, so if he injured from the distance the player is encouraged in one way or another.

The second reason — System need to distinct break of chain by killer (cancel), survivor (holding on chain), and hit. His chain itself doesn’t hit, ONLY in case of full health state AND if timer of holding on chain was exceed and survivor broke it themselves. Deep wound just adds more clarity to his mechanic. Chain pull were cancelled? Nothing. Chain right but killer can’t M1? Lose health state/get deep wound.

The third reason… he is basically one of the weakiest range killer? He is literally countered by pallets unlike other range killers do, so deep wound isn’t some kind of unhealthy mechanic.

He is one of the weakest killers out of… 3, yes…

  • Nurse isn't even a top 10 most played killer.

  • 120 is the max intended framerate, yes.

  • People are not good at the game. Simple as. Same reason why Nurse never had a good killrate.

  • The majority of players will NOT sit through all the manuals.

Sounds like the problem is not tutorials but people not willing to learn in the first place then.

  • Because pretty much everybody runs at least one of those 7 perks in every match.

  • The MMR rework is coming (by the end of 2029) and will be perfectly calibrated, don't worry!

I understand the frustration of losing a perk and i also know it's the wrong time to post this because everyone is on edge, it's new, it's bad, it's apocalypse time

But the new effect is not bad, it's very strong.

8m is 1 second of reaction time for a TR.

Furtive means you halve your TR after 5 obsession hook.

So you can have a Blight, running around with a 20m TR ... Which means you have like 2.5 seconds to react to his 9.2 m/s rush ... Without including human reaction time and the fact most people ignore the first layer ...

Pyramid Head, the killer known to be hyper dangerous up close, the killer known to be pre runned to hell, can walk around with a 16m TR ...

If they revert this perk, and im sure they will (sadly), i hope they bring back something like that in the future, because it is super interesting.

Otz sayed "It's like before so back to being bad" but he is wrong. Past Furtive was bad because it activated while in chase. The new effect is permanent.

You could argue 5 obsession hook is a lot and it is, it's like a "stealth devour hope" kind of deal. But it is by no means weak.

IMO, i prefer this new effect that sounds incredible over a perk that is usefull on rush killers or teleport killers because they can actually use the 18s to get somewhere. They need to bring back this effect sometime in the future, it's super interesting.

Currently, we only have Monitor to mess with the TR that way, it would be really cool to get this effect in the game somehow.

Best thing would be to had this as a new perk (either in a chapter or as a new basic) and keep Furtive so everyone is happy.

It would be a shame to get this cancelled and never brought back again.

The new effect could have been used for a brand new perk or to rework another perk that's widely unused instead.

  • Sadako. Looks like you enjoy low tier killers with non-lethal mobility.

  • Glad to see this oppressive OP killer getting what he deserves. Hopefully we're getting some buffs to Ghoul or Nurse next.

  • I wouldn't mind it but the average regular DBD player definitely would. Which is exactly why BHVR is so unwilling to introduce such thing to the game. A lot of people stick to DBD because they see it as a "laidback PvP game" and there's basically none of those around at such degree of popularity. Introduce a ranked mode that they can even ignore and they'll go full doomer mode anyway.

I'd love to dig into this a little. Is there something specific about this update that you're finding tone-deaf?

Well, the fact that there is basically zero worthwhile reason to stop tunneling, for one. I am not one advocating for tunneling to get removed from the game but the incentive for unique hooks is simply ludicrous. Not only that it truly affects about half of the roster to begin with but 5% is nowhere near enough to make a difference. There's no reason for a killer player to suddenly start rotating his targets of choice more than usual because of this update, and that was the whole point of this unique hook mechanic. Also, nerfing Pinhead this hard of all killers is fairly tone-deaf as well, I reckon. Chaining a surv with Endurance never necessarily resulted into a guaranteed hit and with his original Original Pain addon gone it really feels like too much.

  • Yet another tonedeaf update. Don't act surprised if this update changes nothing about killers' playstyle.

  • BHVR had the opportunity to finally contain Russian/Ukrainian killers and their 60+ pings by opening the Stockholm or Prague server but instead went with London for some reason.

  • New? Been this way since the game released. It just keeps getting worse. You also forgot to talk about maps and keys that they ended up nerfing (especially keys), for whatever reason. There's now truly no good reason to care about any item that isn't medkit, toolbox or flashlight.

  • Perfectly bland, yes. His addon set went from the gold standard to another sleep-inducing one.

  • Poorly. Killers basically get nothing whereas survs now get every positive status effect under the sun for half a minute just for getting unhooked. It's not rocket science to realize that something is off here.

  • No. We just need BHVR game designers to understand that killers with a power that both offers strong antiloop and map mobility also need to be balanced as such.

  • Too much effort required for them. Not to mention that this would likely be bound to become a new fountainhead of head-scratching bugs for the devs.

  • @Mandy said:

Using the different tiers of Bloodlust is something that has been discussed, in the PTB we'll test out T1 and see where we're at, so many changes can be made before things go Live so will definitely be looking out for the feedback around it.

Not trying to be offensive but any semi-experienced DBD player can immediately realize that a mere 5% is not going to have any impact. It won't deter killers who could benefit from it from continuing hooking the same survivor twice in a row and several other killers won't ever care about this anti-tunnel incentive at all due to their powers offering something inherently better than bloodlust (even if it was T3 from the get-go) such as Blight, Nurse etc.

  • That was a good decision. DBD should have less wallhacks. Not more.

  • Because of basic maths? As long as DBD remains an 1v4 game (aka forever and ever), tunneling will always remain a prime efficiency strategy for killer. That's just how it is.

  • Yep. You hook a different surv from the last → gain Bloodlust T1 → do it again → get T2 → do it again → get T3, as well as for every subsequent consecutive unique hook. Resets if you break the chain by hooking the same surv twice in a row. Most obvious solution but apparently was too complicated to come up with.

  • The anniversary quotes show that, somehow, DBD actually has a lot of quality control employees. Quite the cushy job I must say.

  • Mathieu hasn't been involved in game design decisions for years now.

A lot of killers are usless, unless you have like 10k hours in the game. Because of their lack of speed, they waste too much time getting from A to B and in chases, where just a few mistakes can cost them the whole game.

No offense but if you still noticeably struggle after 1k hours then you always will.

  • You have the blueprint to give certain killers less reward

Yes and this blueprint was a mistake. No competent and qualified game designers implement semi-universal arbitrary mechanics according to each character's estimated strength in a PvP game. You have to balance your game as if every available character is of somewhat similar strength and if there are obvious outliers then you buff/nerf them accordingly and prioritarily.

  • No more handholding btw

  • @coolgue1 said:

    • 10% haste (was always in the game)
    • Endurance (was always in the game)
    • Elusive (QOL not hand holding + no longer a thing)
    • No Sound (QOL not hand holding)
    • See the killer's Aura (MABE hand hold a little like a pinky finger but far from it more on a QOL because u do anything and loose it to prevent non interactive game play)
    • 10% haste in endgame (QOL)
    • Endurance in endgame that always been apart of the game (QOL)
    • Survivors can pick themselves up if slugged too long(MASSIVE QOL u have to be down for half your bleed out timer to get it to even activate wich was state at 130S thats 2 minutes for the survivor doing NOTHING)
    • Anti face camp (QOL)
    • Seeing the resolve bar on teammates (MASSIVE QOL)
    • Pallet changes that massively increase the number of pallets on maps that didn't need it while not actually addressing the thing said changes claimed to be trying to fix. (Honestly, maps used to be like this before the devs started catering to every crying killer main. Now it’s about as balanced as it’s ever been.

As for killer—let’s not act like they haven’t been handed massive buffs over the last couple of years. They added more hooks per map, practically eliminating dead zones. Hooks now respawn in 30 seconds. Gens take 15 seconds longer to complete. And for the last 5 patches straight, they’ve been buffing 2–3 killers every single update — making almost the entire roster more viable, more oppressive, and way easier to use.

Maps got brighter and a lot smaller, loops (especially jungle gyms) were reworked to be killer-sided and be almost non existent on most maps now a day, and nearly every new killer released has been so simple to play that a toddler could 4K.

Shall I go on, honey? Because it’s honestly funny how you mention all these survivor ‘advantages’ but conveniently forget all the hand-holding killers have gotten.

And let’s be real — most of these so-called ‘extra pallets’ are filler pallets. They’re weak, short, and easily mind-gamed. Half the time they’re just two tiles laid next to each other for decoration. These aren’t strong loops; they’re fake safety nets at best.

But honestly, there’s no changing these people’s minds. They live in their own little world where killers are the eternal victims, no matter how many buffs they get.

There's no way this post is not a huge slab of sarcasm, right?

  • Because the devs have been absurdly careless with them. Not only you get sanctioned DCs up the wazoo now but punishment for inappropriate ones are incredibly lenient as well. You basically get 2 slap-on-the-wrist DCs every 24h.

  • Drops function correctly, as usual. Haven't received any mail from BHVR since early 2024 though.

  • @Doctor_Main said:

I love playing killers other than Nurse and Blight. I sure hope I don't have to deal with a million pallets!

Pallets actually do something against Blight though. There were better alternatives for your snarky comment.

  • Ironically, I think he should have a tier-based mechanic added to his kit. Basically, he can still get various benefits during chase by stalking an already marked survivor. If they want to be lazy but efficient they simply could have him be able to gain a tier of bloodlust instantly after each further marking. That would give him a chase power that also stays lore-accurate unlike you-know-who.

  • Been like this for almost a month now and they are aware of it.

So, an update with a Myers BUFF is here!

And it covers some of the bases very nicely.

This helps with several awful parts of his power, like how it's so short and easily pre-runable, and you don't lose out on the Pursuer bonuses anymore…

It indeed covers the bases but most of his different playstyles are still unjustifiably gone. He went from the killer with the most versatile and impactful addons to a killer with basically only two builds now.

  • You're talking to the devs that refuse to do substantial nerfs to Nurse, Blight and Ghoul but happily curb stomp the likes of Deathslinger and Myers. Don't get your hopes up.

  • Yeah, even sending emails is something BHVR struggle being competent at. Nothing new under the sun.

  • Checks out with the previous stats we got on the matter.

The last iteration was almost perfect, good enough looping where a survivor could mindgame and still buy time, but not so much that it would cost the killer time. The killer would want 3 portals open, survivors would want ALL portals open (which, costs time). The killer item was stronger than the survivor item already as you could effectively instadown if timed right.

Legitimately the only problem was that you could slug in the void even stronger than outside the void. This void is one you only want to use if you do challenges or know the killer is tunnelling to close distance. In fact, right now I dont even know why survivors are exhausted. The reason exhaustion needed to be added was Balanced Landing, but since the center piece is gone, there is nothing you can do to "abuse" exhaustion perks there.

This. Instead of listening to feedback and improve on the issues from last's year iteration of the void they instead aggravated them.

  • Just play normally and you'll eventually get it. There's over 2 weeks left, for fudge's sake. Quit being being an impatient toddler.

For me it has been Toba, Nostromo, repeat.

Sure I get other maps, but these two repeat at least every other map or every third. On multiple occasions in the past week I've had Toba twice in a row.

I've played ~150 matches since the new tome started. The Rift tracks that. For those of you that love to say that's anecdotal.

Stop giving any map increased odds. I want totally random all the time.

Springwood, Toba and Nostromo all have the highest % roll. For over a month now, all indoor maps, Nostromo and Springwood have increased appearance rate for some godforsaken reason. BHVR are on a legendary run to make the game as unbearable as possible in 2025.

  • We just need a salvaging system already. Let us convert all these worthless offerings into BPs.

the fact that killers also need 15 hooks in the void too. Like bhvr doesn't think about anything they do.

    This challenge is easy though?

  • It's never been a party game and PvP games can all be sweaty by nature.

  • Please do not listen to his hothead, dear BHVR. We need less event items, if anything. There's no reason to have this many rods and serums polluting our webs.

I don't have a source for this but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that MMR isn't enabled for event lobbies. I could be misremembering something though.

It is enabled, you just can't gain/lose MMR in them.
