No, it's not. I'd say you likely just need to work on counting.
It should do the opposite. Regress at twice the rate when a Survivor isn’t being chased or the Killer isn’t nearby.

Almost every gen is behind a wall or sight blocker. It'd be useless.
It would still have it’s main use of countering Stealth Killers (predominantly stalking Killers), but yes it will be weaker.
That’s the point of the suggestion, to make it weaker than it’s current state. It’s too flexible in use, affects all Killers instead of the ones it’s designed to counter, and is a strong meta pick. Taking it down a notch would spice up the meta, possibly bring underused Perks into play, and provide suitable counter-play.

Make Your Choice works great on Hag.
I find that works well with Infectious Fright. You know 2 Survivors are at least close by so whomever you down reveals the other.
-
It needs looking into. A change I recommend is making it not work through walls. It only triggers when the Killer sees a Survivor clearly.
This makes the Perk work against Stealth Killers as intended and not against everyone. It also provides Stealth Killers an opportunity to play it by closing the gap first before stalking/ambushing a Survivor.

you should be able to cancel blinks, charging a blink as your blinking to a survivor and you end up on top of the survivor is SO punishing since it is so hard to reblink onto them and hit them.
It's also dumb how a survivor can just walk up to you as your charging a blink like you should be able to just stop charging a blink by lunging out of it.
If Nurse could cancel blinks, they’d have to nerf her again. The inability to cancel blinks is an intentional downside so Survivors have something to work around.
If you’re a skilled Nurse though, you can aim at the ground to shorten the blink then use your second blink to hit the Survivor.
-
The nerf looks nowhere near to a solution to what has supposedly been planned for months/years. I was expecting a change that would fix more problems, not 1 of the problems.
I will acknowledge that this change doesn’t reduce the Killers workload by 50% like the previous Mori. That’s good, solves the issues where games went too quickly when a Mori was brought.
However, it doesn’t fix the big issue of Killers tunnelling hard to use the Mori (probably increases the amount of tunnelling due to the increased requirement). The offering may fit around normal game-play, but if a player brings an ultra-rare offering with a fun cinematic during a Bloodpoint crisis, they will mostly definitely try to get as much use out of the offering.
It doesn’t fix the issue with usage during volatile matches (where a 4K match is preceded by a 0K match and so on). A player bringing an ultra-rare offering has an expectation to at least use once. We obviously don’t need to be silly and expect the Survivors to start the match pre-hooked to make it easier for those less skilled, but I would expect a scaling requirement so that the first Mori is easy to achieve but make a 4K something that requires work.
I was expecting a change similar player suggestions. Examples like;
- Give it a counter system like Spirit Fury so you can choose when to Mori a player without tunnelling them
- Increasing the requirement but adding more ways for to achieve this requirement (hitting Survivors, breaking pallets, etc.)
- Provide Survivors who can be Mori’d with buffs to balance out the match.
Instead, we got what looks like a quick fix solution.

Don't feel like he fits the game.

It's probably because there's some genuine cheaters out there. It starts to get difficult figuring out who's playing fair or not.

where can i take a look at this data btw? Are all killers represented there? Sounds interesting
There is some great information to glean from this data, and it puts to bed a lot of false rumors floating around the web. This article shows the graphs. I will try and find the official post from BHVR when I can.

But that chart is clearly not an indicator of who is the most powerful. Pig is not a particularly strong killer, and tends to be on the weak side, but she is number two. Mikey is probably the second or third weakest in the game, and he is upper middle. Nurse is the strongest, and has the lowest by far. Blight is one of the stronger ones, and has the third lowest. These are not measurements of the power of the killer.
One thing the chart doesn’t take into account is skill floor/ceiling. Nurse and Blight can be influential but are difficult to learn, a Killer Main might try them out but not expect 2K, yet alone 4K. This might be why those 2 have such a low kill-rate.
Pig and Mike Myers on the other hand have a lower skill floor, but they have a decent skill ceiling. A Killer Main could probably achieve a 2K or more their first couple of games and still improve to a degree but would be limited by their kits with what can achieved.
Freddy has a low skill floor and ceiling. Essentially, a Killer Main could pick him and master him in a couple of days. He’s simple to play but his kit has a lot to offer. That’s why hen has a high kill-rate and is strong.

Ah yes, "1%".

There's data showing he has the highest kill-rate in all Ranks. And playing as a SWF is a lot easier than playing Solo.

-Spine Chill doesn't work on Victor
-He's much faster than Charlotte
-Pallets crush him
-He can only track blood
-He doesn't trigger a chase
-He can only pounce, no other interactions (except for lockers in the next hotfix)
-Even if he downs a player, he can still be crushed by another player in proximity
-Victor has no Terror Radius, yet emits loud noises
Why would he need a red stain?
Taking Insidious makes Victor constantly Undetectable.
-
Killer:
- Sometimes when a pallet is dropped whilst a killer is performing an M1, the Killer gets stunned AND yanks an injured person off the pallet.
-
Twins:
- If Insidious is taken, Victor is constantly "Undetectable".
Survivors:
- Mending another player sometimes has no animation.
- Waking up another player sometimes has no animation.
Sanctum of Wrath:
- Dropping a Survivor at the top of the shrine occasionally makes them fall underneath it.

People wouldn't have to cheat to win if matchmaking wasn't broken.
If matchmaking worked they'd be paired with people of similar skill levels.
People would be cheating regardless of the matchmaking working or not. I can guarantee though, it makes the matchmaking worse and ruins the other players experience.

I look at hex undying more as what type of power level hex defence perks needs to be to be used and its most likely only as strong as it is because they don't want to have YET ANOTHER unusable hex defence perk.
Also how would you even buff Thrill of the hunt to improve its defence as the aura reading won't help as its sound notification visual covers up undying's aura reveal(Yes i had nothing else but Thrill and undying on my blight at one point) meaning giving the aura reading to thrill does nothing.
Also outside of a full rework how would Retribution ever be a viable hex defence perk? That's a better question as buffing its numbers won't help it do its job.
TOTH - Make Hex Totems count as 2 tokens, compliments Hex heavy set-ups. The notification should be periodic (every x seconds).
Retribution - It should injure any Survivor that cleanses a Hex Totem, truly punish Survivors. If necessary, increase the Aura reveal on the Survivor who cleansed the Hex Totem as well.

the main issue with Nerfing undying is that its literally the only viable hex defence perk in the game.
Its the bare minimum in terms of power for one to see play as when was the last time Hex: Thrill of the Hunt/Retribution actually did anything in your games?
It a bandaid fix though when a perk is released to be the standard, and previous perks which did the same job now become obsolete. Undying should have provided something else, TOTH and Retribution should be buffed.
-
Probably so it has an active function as well as a passive one. But they probably should have gave that to Thrill of the Hunt (the perk literally designed to protect your Hexes).
Maybe Undying should provide a temporary buff to the Killer if cleansed (movement speed boost, faster recover, etc).

What's a counter to ds?
A Mori
-
Ruin + Undying is a nice combo that creates a passive play-style but at the sacrifice of 2 perk slots (which can be removed via cleansing).
DS is a single perk that doesn’t provide enough counter options for Killers and is too flexible in use for Survivors.

It’s like Legion. Easy to play around, yet the experience is still annoying.

Console players get mad when you say it but in my opinion, yeah there is a difference between console and pc. My BF and I can guess with like... 95% accuracy when a killer is console. The difference is real and it's noticeable. It's not their fault, either.
I started playing on the switch, have about 800 hours there. I switched to PC in summer and have about 200 hours on there.
When I played on switch BEFORE crossplay, I had ZERO issue staying as a rank 1 survivor. As soon as I put crossplay on to play with my pc friends, we of course got red rank pc killers most matches. And even with a full SWF, I could NOT stay rank 1. I struggled to even stay in red ranks because I simply couldn't handle what PC players were dishing out to me. I'm not sure what it's like for ps4 and xbox, but if it is anything like the switch (which is by far, the console with the worst performance when it comes to running DBD) you are simply at too much of a disadvantage. You cannot loop tightly on switch, you have crazy frame drops, and it even feels like you are running slower than you should be (I'm not the only one to feel this way- other switch players regularly complain about this). I constantly got hit through vaults, dead hard was COMPLETELY useless, and you could even get hit at the beginning of your Sprint Burst in ways that NEVER happen to me on PC. This was not related to dedicated servers, either. I regularly play with another friend who is still on the switch and I see her having the same issues.
As soon as I switched to PC, I had no issues at all staying at rank 1, even without having access to the perks I usually run on my old switch account AND while learning mouse and keyboard after being a controller player. Performance is just so much better on PC compared to console.
HOWEVER, I do think that console players will catch up to PC now that they have the newest generation of consoles out. I think the biggest thing holding survivors back was the performance. Killers may still have a bit of an issue just because of controller limitations, but I assume they'll also do better. While I do tend to see a higher percentage of good PC players than console players, I HAVE seen plenty of good console players, too. They usually fare better when the killer is console, too, though. And of course- there are potatoes on every platform and I've played with hundreds of horribly awful red rank PC players.
So to answer your question, if newer consoles weren't out now, I'd say, yes, console players should be considered lower rank by the game's matchmaking system. But with new consoles+better performance, there really won't be anything holding them back and they absolutely should not be scared of crossplay.
I appreciate the thought out response and will have to agree with your answer. Things may improve as people transition to from PS4 to PS5 and so on.
-
I feel like many people are misunderstanding what I posted.
I'm not saying players from one platform are superior to those from another. What I'm trying to point out is how mechanics and controls from one platform can differ enough to impact the players on another platform. Adding on the faults of the matchmaking system and players from one platform to encounter someone who is more skilled yet in the same rank as them.
For example, a Nurse on Console is not as influential as a Nurse on PC due to control limitations. So when a Survivor from Console encounter a Nurse on PC, despite the rank being the same, they will most likely get destroyed.
-
@sugoimaku said:
I used to play on console (Xbox One) but I've just recently moved to PC. And to be frank, from personal experience, I didn't find PC players to be any better than console players. Console players were a bit more annoying yes, (it was like every ps4 killer I faced brought a mori or some type of op add on XD). And there was a really good Nurse on PC that I just have to applaude. But do I think any platform has some type of competitive advantage against another? Not really.
You must be encountering better experiences than me. I’m not joking when I say that the vast majority of matches I have, console players in my team either die early or look like they don’t know what they’re doing. The amount of times I’ve seen a console Survivor run into the Killer makes me concerned.

I see no difference. Legit. I play on xbox and some PC players are bad, others good. That goes for all platforms. I don't get this whole, weird PC ego I have seen around the forums, where it's like they're talking to mere mortals that pallet drop too much or don't do gens right lmfao. I just don't get it, but I hope people realize that skill is across all platforms, not just one.
Skill may be across all platforms but the matchmaking isn’t. The period before cross-platform was available and the option to opt out of cross-platform has impacted the matchmaking, what’s required to reach Red Rank on one platform is different from another.

On its own, its pretty much the worst perk in the game as you are wasting 32 seconds healing when you could work on gens instead. However if you combine it maybe with botany knowledge, desperate meassures or just a medkit then its somewhat decent.
You can spend time doing gens, but there's the risk of being found by the killer before being healed by someone else and getting downed in one hit.
-
Problems I've noticed with the map:
- Lack of info regarding gen location and stairwells
- Too many safe pallets and loops
- Exit gates have too many access points
- Hallways are too open for stealth killers
- Half of the breakable walls don't help the killer
-
How else do I counter Nemesis?
-
Self-care. Half of the community hate me for taking this one perk in-game.

You don’t need to spend time looking for another survivor to heal you though. I agree that running around the map injured searching for help is inefficient, but you can just wait until you’re unhooked and get healed then, or work on a gen until someone finds you.
I prefer to heal myself ASAP. Unless a nearby gen is nearly complete (which I can quickly finish before healing) I don't like remaining injured in case the killer finds me.
-
@xenotimebong said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1770085#Comment_1770085
You also have to consider killer seconds. 16 killer seconds vs 32 killer seconds. Which one is more likely to be interrupted by the killer and therefore have been a complete waste of time? Which one is more likely to be interrupted by more pressing concerns, like a teammate who needs unhooking?
The issues with SC aren’t just about raw time taken but also opportunity cost and risk.
You need to add on time for finding another Survivor vs time it takes to find a safe location.
There’s also the fact that finding a safe location to self-heal is significantly safer than wandering the map, injured, trying to find another Survivor.
Self-heal is good for Solo Survivors and Team-mates who play for fun.

He's not atrocious, but one of his powers needs buffing. He's an all-rounder so he has options, but his lack of a particular strength hinders him.

plague in insanely underrated. she’s b tier
I'd place her more C tier. She's an M1 Killer unless someone cleanses, and high ranks normally don't cleanse until the last gen is left/done. There needs to be more incentive to cleanse earlier.

Woah!! Plague is top tier in my opinion, especially against players that cleanse 24/7
She's a lot weaker in Red Ranks. Her power is a good concept but doesn't really encourage Survivors to cleanse. They may be Exposed but less risky than her machine gun of death.
-
Yes, if we ignore Plague, Wraith, Demogorgon....
-
I find she's mostly fine, but they need to tweak her post-phase movement speed.
This safety net is fine for new players but provides too big a hit window for advanced players.

They adjusted the timings of his power. They made it so when you stick the sword in the ground and cancel it you have to wait like a full second before meleeing. It was so if people ran to a vault, he stuck his sword in the ground, the survivor saw that and backed away he couldn't unstick it and immediately hit you. To compensate they lowered the recover time it takes after using the wave but the issue is it's so telegraphed most people won't use it unless the survivor is animation locked into something. Honestly I haven't noticed much of a difference but they might tweak the number in the future.
Sounds more like a tweak than a rework xD
-
What's the difference between gen-rushing and doing the objective?
