Dream pallets are already inherently weaker than snares, as they're limited by the locations they can be placed in, as well as the fact that survivors can memorize what pallets are real and what ones aren't and play accordingly around them. Adding a stun time to Freddy would completely defeat the purpose of them -- it would be the equivalent of having him stunned whenever a survivor stepped in one of his snares -- and it would be a pointless, unnecessary change.
I play with pallets exclusively since I'm not good with the snares and I love the "gotcha" moments you get with pallets, but smart survivors can instinctively tell what pallets aren't natural, or they remember what's been used already. That said, I've had instances where a survivor will drop an easily recognizable pallet -- like shack -- and then the very same survivor will camp the fake pallet I've replaced it with later in the match (sometimes, even in the same chase!). Rewarding that kind of bad play with a stun of the killer would be a ridiculous change.

As the last survivor, I'll drop my item and kneel/crouch as a sign of surrender when I know I'm out of options. Sometimes, that will get me mercy, but it's never expected.
As killer, approaching to Boop the Snoot when I'm playing Pig will always get you a pass, unless you've done something earlier in the match to warrant otherwise. Anyone who is the last survivor, no matter what killer I'm playing, who "surrenders" and gives up their item, is almost certainly getting mercy from me too. I had a recent Freddy round where I had two survivors left -- a Jane who had charged at me earlier in the match to take aggro from their injured teammate and an Adam, who had hit me with Head-On twice and flashlight clicked at me. The Jane was on death hook, the Adam wasn't, and while chasing the Adam, he led me to where the Jane was -- I lost him but smacked her as she ran from the gen she was on. She just stopped running and resigned herself to dying -- I went in front of her, and she put her item on the ground and just stood there, waiting the inevitable. I left her alone and went to hunt down the Adam, who I gladly sacrificed instead and let the Jane get the hatch. Wholesome and humble gains my respect over cocky every time.

I have to say that going up against a social pig is always a blast, even if we all end up dying.
Agreed. If someone is willing to Boop, they get a free pass for the match. I've depipped for mass Booping, lol.
This was one of the funniest groups I ever went against. I found them ready to Boop watching the overhead TV's and things went surreal from there, lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azo1_GXJ7Zk&list=PLC2rL4BtEvpu37EzsT36X2SS3vL2Igksg&index=54&ab_channel=GeriatricGamingEveryone lived in that match, and I depipped, but I didn't care. Definitely a win. π€£

My cakes are going into storage until then. Looking forward to some 5 cake lobbies when it happens.
-
It varies from game to game for me. As survivor, pipping using feels like a "win" to me, even if I don't make it out. If I had a successful chase or accomplished a lot to help my team survive, that's enough.
As killer, it varies even more. Faced three Rank 1 survivors with a 4th on a smurf account as Legion, a killer I barely play and still got a 2K (and was an eyelash from snagging a 3 or 4K) -- that definitely felt like a win because I played well. I've gotten a 3K or even a 4K before and it felt more like a loss because of how many mistakes I made (the survivors just made more, lol).
Overall, though, I want to have fun. I meme around as Piggie enough and get no kills in a match but still have a blast, so it's not all about how many people end up on a hook. As long as I'm enjoying myself, I'll chalk that up as a "win".
-
It was a successful event for me, After never wanting to Prestige anyone since I always wear a cosmetic for whoever I'm playing with (other than Meg, who I had P3), I went all-in and got 10 other survivors to P3 (and while they don't have ALL the perks yet, they're all playable),
I got crowns for every survivor pretty early, and for all killers except for Deathslinger, Twins, and Trickster (all of whom, I never play).
I've gotten almost 300 survivor cakes collectively spread amongst every survivor, and 150 or so killer cakes, also spread mostly on the ones I play regualrly.
I restocked some of my killer add-ons for the ones I play the most, and for both killers and survivors (the ones I didn't prestige) I got further along to having everyone having all of the perks available for using.
I had far too many "bad matches" than I would have liked, especially for an anniversary event -- survivors who were more interested in teabagging and taunting, or playing generator speedrun simulator when I was killer and indicated a willingness to farm with 5-cake lobbies (the latter usually went badly for me, the former would go REALLY bad for the survivors, lol) and killers who hard camped/tunneled in 5 cakes lobbies (usually ending up with no one, including said killer, getting anything out of the match and wasting everyone's cakes, including their own).
That said, there have been some really good times during the event. A Nurse that decimated our team, but gave me hatch when they saw I'd picked up a Crown while running from them near the end. A Ghostface who was RIDICULOUSLY good at coming out of nowhere to stalk on Red Forest, who let my friend and I farm after there was an immediate DC at the start of the match when he could have finished us both off easily. Last night, the Oni who farmed out the gate with us on The Game in our last match, and the match against a fellow Twitch streamer playing Hag that was a battle of wills to get the last gen done/prevent it, that ended up in great BP for everyone and a fun match all around, numerous killers who played to win but "fairly" and, no matter the outcome, gave us great matches and great BP. And as killer, the handful of survivors who approached to Boop the Snoot with lobbies filled with cakes -- and who I had amazing farming matches with, giving pips and monstrous BP totals to everyone involved.
To anyone I've run into who was a part of those great experiences during the event -- thank you!

Can I just say THANK YOU?
You Piggy killers to me have been the most wholesome group throughout the entire event. I've never felt so happy by all the piggy's who respect the boop! I've had matches from a variety of killer ranks that have just played along and have let survivors escape.
I've played piggy myself during this event as well and have received a lot of wholesome messages on PSN from the survivors for letting them get their crowns, BP, and escape.
To sum it up: <3 Piggy!
As a Pig player, thank you!
I've tried to indicate a willingness to farm when I've played Piggie throughout the event in more matches than not, but it's usually been met with tbags and taunting from the other end. The matches that have been like that have either been generator speedrun simulator (with no one gets BP of any amount to be happy with) or complete slaughters for me (with only me being happy with the BP, lol).
I ALWAYS respect the Boop, even if it means a depip. If you Boop, you live (unless it's a "fake" Boop after BM'ing me earlier in the match). I've let whole squads farm away when they've approached me at the start of a match for Boops -- the Pig is really the only (or at least, the best) killer that you can meme with like that.
Glad you've run into some wholesome Pigs, and glad you've contributed to Pig goodwill!
-
When I play killer, it's pretty simple. If I'm playing the Pig (who I play more as than anyone), then if you Boop, you live -- no exceptions (unless you've done something to warrant no mercy earlier in the match). I've depipped and had complete 4-person farming matches occur simply because everyone approached to Boop at the beginning.
Otherwise, I try to give as fun and as "fair" a match to the opposing survivors that I can. If you BM me, though, I'm going to make it rough for you and prioritize your dying over everyone else. Conversely, I don't worry about a 4K that much (with some exceptions, obviously). I often give the hatch/door to the last person alive, and I've done it a lot with people who I've seen have picked up crowns throughout the Anniversary event.

At what point did I say that? I have never cared when my teammates or killers DCed before, and I don't care now. It's stupid that this game forces people to stay in when they want out, and because if that, I play less and less. I'm not sure how you turned that into I'm going to DC every time I'm downed, but go off, sis.
Your own words:
"What I do care about is being forced to stay in a game I don't want to play anymore, because the killers slugs because they know I want out, or because I can't kill myself on hook anymore. All of these changes along with the DC penalty make me play the game less and less."
Whatever you want to claim, that's an egocentric view of the game. With your take, you clearly put your own self-interests over those of anyone else, priortizing your experience to be more important than the other people you play with. As someone who plays solo survivor from time to time, you're exactly the type of player I hope to never see in my lobby as a teammate, and it's players who think that way that are the reason I prefer playing as part of a SWF. I know that, no matter what, they won't quit on me or the rest of the team, even if that particular match isn't fun, because it screws the rest of us over.

ah yes, survivors with 3rd person POV and full 360 camera control because it is so hard to use your eyes against a stealth killer, either nerf the range or let undetectable counter it. How is it fair the ghost face and Myers canβt stalk because spine chill out range their stalk range and also people who use spinechill usually pair it urban evasion and hide all game while their team on death hook
A correction on your GF info. Spine Chill's maximun range of detection is 36 meters. GF can stalk at a maximum range of 40 meters, meaning they can 99 stalk a survivor without a SC user getting notification anyone is watching. Really good GF players do exactly that -- finding places on the map they can stalk from afar, then popping the full exposed stalk when they catch up to the survivor.

I hope you're letting your fellow survivors know in the pre-game lobby that you'll plan to DC at any available opportunity if things don't go the way YOU want them to. I'm sure they'd appreciate that heads-up, so they can bail to another lobby with actual "teammates", and not myopic-thinking indiviudals who ignore the consequences of their actions on the experience of others.

Did I say it's overpowered? I meant over touched, it looms over an anti stealth perk I personally think deserves the anti stealth attention more. I like the rest of it, but that part urks me a bit
You didn't, but I've seen other people call it that and call for heavy nerfs to it. I wasn't specifcally referring to anything you said. ποΈ

I play 50/50 survivor/killer. I run Spine Chill on every survivor build I can, and the main killer I play is a stealth killer in The Pig (and I also dabble in Wraith, Shape, and GF at times).
With that context in mind, the perk is fine, IMO. It's a nice heads-up as survivor and a Godsend against a stealth killer, but it still isn't overpowered. A little head start to move to a safer tile will help, but if you can't run the killer, it'll only do so much good. And there's the "false" Spine Chill readings -- when they're chasing someone else and your SC is blinking on and off -- that, if you're not used to distinguishing between them, can cause people to bail from a gen or a heal when there's not imminent danger.
As killer, it can be annoying to get to a gen and see people have scattered, even when you're in stealth, but it's a momentary problem that you know to deal with in the future (turning your camera heading to targets is one way). I do perfectly fine against SC users, and when I lose a match, I never have said "I would have won if SC wasn't being run by those survivors".
There are plenty of perks that need to be looked at, but SC isn't one of them. It's a potentially powerful perk that isn't game-breaking -- nothing wrong with a perk like that.

I've had the most success with Starstruck running it on Doctor, pairing it with Agitation and double Calm add-ons, making his TR huge while carrying a survivor to a hook (and with you TR huge while your Static Blast is ready to go). Carry someone to a hook and survivors all through the map are going to be exposed, then Blast to find them hiding (and they will be). I played a match where I found survivors literally on the other side of a smaller map like Glenvale or Hawkins and downed them with Starstruck as Doctor.
Nurse is amazing with the perk as well. A tightly grouped number of survivors can be decimated with SS if they're not careful by a really good Nurse.
I agree to get rid of Iron Grasp -- I think it'll be overkill. Agitation is the perk you definitely need to pair with it.
-
It varies. When I record matches or stream, I can play up to 5-6 hours at a time. The longest I played for was a 14 hour run (in an attempt to do a 24-hour playthrough) -- I was pretty exhausted of the game by that point (though I was right back at it a day or two later). I played about 9 hours tonight, almost all survivor, grinding through BP to level up/prestige different survivors.
I went almost 7 hours yesterday, the last two and a half or so as killer. By the time I was done, I had a headache, it was such an unpleasant run of matches. There's definitely days it can feel like a chore to play, but thankfully, the fun outweighs those feelings more often than not.

I was really shocked to see Freddy has literally nothing. They sell the classic Ghostface robes to get him out of his Dishonored garb, but they don't sell us OG Freddy? Missed opportunity.
I would venture a strong guess that it isn't BHVR's call on that. I believe (and someone can correct me on this if I'm wrong) that the rights to Nightmare on Elm Street (and presumably, to Freddy) reverted back to the Craven estate in 2019. It's not a coincidence that the characters with the fewest cosmetics are all from licensed properties -- the holders of the rights to those properties are likely going to be VERY protective as to how those properties are depicted. They're not going to want to see their IP depicted in a way that doesn't fit their "vision" of what their character to be, so companies/estates are going to be very restrictive normally in what they allow.
Having a Robert Englund Freddy would be awesome (as would be a Heather Langenkamp "Nancy" as a survivor), but in addition to getting the permission from the Craven estate, they would very possibly need the permission of the actors involved as well to use their likeness (not sure on the latter point -- I was an English major, not a law student, lol). In any case, I wouldn't hold out hope of seeing more Freddy stuff anytime soon, as neat as it would be. It's not impossible, but it might be too expensive or too difficult (or both for BHVR to pull off at this point.

Some people complain that none of the powerful perks are ever in the Shrine.
There's a week that some of the most powerful perks for Survivor and Killer are actually in the Shrine.
Some people then complain that the Shrine is filled with these powerful perks.
Sigh. :shakeshead:

I give plenty of hatches when I play killer, but it's not a guarantee. If I can tell that someone is waiting it out and refusing to make an attempt to save the next-to-last survivor on their hook (and I'll be far away to give ample opportunity), I won't show mercy then. If you've engaged in any BM'ing at me during the match, no form of repentance will get me to be merciful at that point either.
When I play survivor, I have no expectations I'll be given the hatch if I'm the last person left. When it does happen, I'm grateful. Anyone who "expects" it simply because they're the last one alive is being unreasonable. If they're salty afterwards, their salt should be promptly ignored. That type of player is likely the one who'll be waiting in the exits to teabag a killer they've destroyed in another game and likely deserves no sympathy anyway.
-
That's a "no" from me on both.
I've already taken BBQ off of a number of killer builds (Trapper, Hag, Doctor), and the ones I've kept in on, it's almost entirely for the BP bonus. Better perks I'd use instead would be Thrilling Tremors, STBFL, or Sloppy Butcher.
I run WGLF on some survivor builds when I'm looking for BP -- take that away, and there just isn't any reason to run it. There's too many better perks to go with instead.

I find greater success in pig when placing a trap on their head then going and camping any jigsaw box. This results in an easy down since they almost never fully heal.
Since survivors never die from the trap it makes more sense to just attack them while distracted and vulnerable at a box.
As someone who's made Rank 1 playing mostly Pig ... uh ... no.
The traps are meant to slow the game down, not kill. If you get a kill, then all the better, but that's not going to happen, even if you camped boxes. They're too spread out, survivors will heal if the trap isn't active, and even if it is, the boxes are spread out enough that you're just wasting your time.
The SWF groups you love to go on about will push through gens regardless. You spend time tunneling someone with a trap, you might get your 1K -- and everyone else waltzing out the gates with an easy escape.
If I come across someone on a box or headed to one in chase with someone, I won't hesitate to harrass them, but spending time prioritizing it is not optimal play, and will end up with you losing against really good survivors (playing Pig against really good survivors is a challenge even if you ARE playing optimally). But you do you, I guess.
-
Played three killer rounds this morning. I brought cakes into all 3, Got 5 cake lobbies in all of them.
Trapper up first. Looking mainly for a crown, but still tried to set up traps. The survivor who brought a map spent the entire match disabling them. Gens rushed through -- I got a safety pip and a sacrifice, but no big bloodpoints made by anyone.
Doctor up next. Four-flashlight lobby made me wonder what I was in for. Hit a Kate about 30 seconds in -- just as I'm circling a pallet ready to down her, she DC's. Immediately afterwards, a Nea (presumably their partner) DC's as well. π€¦ββοΈ I find the Claudette and down her, then run as far away as possible so the Laurie can get the unhook. I hook the Laurie, hoping the Claudette will return the favor, which she did. Found them both and smacked a gen so they could both farm, hoping desperately the two clowns who DC'ed were still watching (unfortunately, they had left to ruin someone else's game, I imagine). 5 gens later, the Claudette and Laurie are out the gates, I barely safety pipped, and I got a terrible BP total all things considered because I'm a nice guy. (No regrets, though - I'd do the same thing again).
Last match, I play as Huntress, who I'm basically just learning how to play. End up on Badham, so not a great map to work with. Survivors are pumping out gens so fast, I barely have time to move. Get a couple of downs, and I snagged a crown, but again, the gens were done insanely fast. I ended up with four healthy survivors at the exit gates who wouldn't even let me practice hatchet snipes on them they were running out so fast (and none of them looked to have gotten a crown, either). I would have been happy to farm, but everyone's BP totals were almost embarrassing low -- especially for bringing in all of the cakes -- but at least ... they got the match over in record time, I guess?
I tried to message the two PS players in that match to ask, "Why the speedrun with 5 cakes in the lobby?", but their messages were off. I made a note to self -- stop bringing in cakes, since all but one of my killer rounds since the event started with 4-5 cakes/BPS in the lobby in which I either would have been willing to farm or outright SIGNALED to the survivors that I was happy to do so, I've been greeted by speedrunners, BM'ing, or both. I sometimes had wondered why I still had numerous 4th year cakes on multiple killers -- I think I remember why now, lol.
-
I've run Franklin's maybe 2 or 3 times total in over a year of playing. I don't see it against me as a survivor on any killer specifically (I actually rarely see it at all). Usually, the only time I've seen it in a match is when a fellow survivor has brought a key (though that was pre-rework).
My Doctor build has been rocking Agitation/Starstruck with double Calm add-ons. Fun stuff. π
-
Actual conversation between my friend and I, playing as a duo, from a game not that long ago (not 100% accurate, but pretty close):
"I'm about ready to pop this gen. Where are you?"
"Trying to hide from Myers. There's a Nea teabagging him at a pallet."
"What?"
"Yep -- she won't leave. He's just standing there, and she keeps teabagging."
** Tier 3 sound activates **
"Welp ... thanks a lot, Nea." π€¦ββοΈ
Sometimes, the killer or their power isn't the real problem.

I really want to see statistics on hatch escapes if there is any. When I play keys, most of the time I die. When I see other survivors play keys, they usually end up dying too. Seeing a hatch escape in my experience is a very rare thing and I am not exaggerating on that. I really do think killers get too worked up over hatch escapes as if its like them losing 20 matches in a row. I've lost about 15 keys the past few days, with hatch offerings too. Survivors really do not escape using a key as often as people think they do unless I am just one of the survivors who simply doesn't see it a lot. I've had killers literally admit to tunneling me down because I had a key in my hand. They can see my key in the lobby, but I have no idea who the killer is or their loadout until after the match starts and I don't even know they have certain perks until the end game or after the match. Killers have to stop getting so offended about survivors escaping in this game. Don't killers win more matches than the survivors in this game anyway?
I never used to get out with keys until two things changed for me -- I went from playing with a friend as part of a 2-person team to playing with him as part of a full-fledged, 4-person SWF group, and the hatch offerings came into existence.
When you're a solo, having a key can be useful but not always something you'll be able to get value out of. As part of a 4-person SWF, though with a hatch offering? Unless the killer really plays around it -- heavy slugging or bringing of Franklin's (which, since the recent change, isn't the problem it was before) -- then I found that one of us bringing a key and using a hatch offering was pretty much a guarantee of at least 2 of us getting out, unless we got absolutely got slaughtered early game. Killers we faced couldn't keep up with us. We'd use the hatch spawning at the killer shack offering, have the keyholder drop the key near there to avoid Franklin's, then play normally. With our level of coordination and just the way the game is currently designed to go, we could almost always get 3 gens done, which pretty much guaranteed a 2-person escape. Getting that 4th gen done got us a number of 3-person escapes. The only way this got more difficult was when we ended up on a map without a killer shack, but even then, having multiple eyes looking for the hatch can make all of the difference.
Solo play is something altogether different, I'll grant you -- not that I haven't gotten out with someone that way, though. When I've played killer and seen key escapes by multiple people, it's almost always been what I've suspected was a SWF of some sort who could coordinate it better.
-
We've already had a friendly discussion about the actual Mori offering before, but what you're describing here is something altogether different, so I'll throw my friendly 2 cents in. π
The Myers Mori, if you were never hooked, was going to be one of the Tombstone add-ons. If the Myers was running the Purple Tombstone piece, then I agree that you were definitely shafted (no pun intended). That add-on is probably one of the most broken in the game and largely unfair, as you can have your teammates feed all of the stalk to Myers to get him to Tier 3 before you get Moried after never seeing the killer. It's one that should be reworked into something else.
If the Myers used Judith's Tombstone, however -- that's a different story, especially if they were running the Tuft of Hair with it. It takes a LONG time to get to Tier 3 with those two add-ons, the Myers has to get a lot of stalk from every survivor to even get there, and they'll be moving slower while having it (unless they're running PWYF). That may not feel like the Myers earned it, but there are serious mistakes being made by all the survivors if a Myers is able to finish off a team (or multiple survivors with it). If a Myers isn't doing anything to try and down people (and if they're running PWYF, they won't want to lose the stacks) and it's taking a LONG time for them to pop a Tier 3, I assume that they're running the Tuft of Hair and/or Judith's and play accordingly. Myers players trying that have matches that end in one of two ways -- all gens have popped by the time they get the needed stalk and no one (or maybe one person dies), or they finish everyone off (usually because their opponents have made mistakes to feed him). It's a powerful combination, but by no means unbeatable or unfair (even if you die without being hooked).
The other Mori possibilities that can kill you without a hook (other than the Cypress, which can still kill you if you're the last person left, but a hook would do the same thing, so we'll ignore it) are Rancor and Devour Hope. Both of those are fair perks that have counters to them.
Rancor will be giving you the killer's aura after every generator pop, alerting you well into the match that you're going to be in danger if all gens are popped -- stealth after the last gen pops (and being as far away from the killer as possible when that happens) is the counterplay. I don't mind Rancor as a survivor, because in exchange for the info I'm getting in-match as to the killer's whereabouts, I have the feeling of dread of knowing I can be insta-downed and killed immediately if I'm not in the right position at the end -- so it adds a level of tension to the round that isn't normally there (plus, it's a little funny to watch someone hit the killer with DS during the match and take the Obsession status away from you and put the target on their back -- that happened with my friend and I once, and it was funny watching him scramble during Endgame while I could breathe a huge sigh of relief, lol). Again, it's not a fun feeling if you haven't been downed until the end and you end up dead, but it's not like it's coming without plenty of warning for you to figure out how to avoid it.
Devour Hope is arguably one of the scariest perks to go against, but again, it's a fair one. Totem spawns are notoriously terrible on most maps (with the few exceptions, where they can be tough to find), so I've been in matches as survivor where Devour never collects a token. There are numerous totem-killer perks that make it harder for Devour to make it to 3 tokens, never mind 5, so long as survivors bother to do totems. It rewards a killer to leave the hook, which obviously survivors should be happy with, so when it reaches that 3rd token and survivors know it's a thing, then the killer has earned a level of reward. There is no Adrenaline rush (no pun intended) in the game like the feeling when you see Devour has made everyone exposed and it's a mad dash to find the totem before people start dying. It's not unbeatable -- I've played survivor rounds where we've gotten to the totem with minimal damage after knowing it was a thing -- but I can understand it's frustrating if you're downed and dead without being hooked once. But it's one of the few perks that, if you even suspect a killer might be running it, encourages a secondary objective for survivors -- looking for and cleansing totems. I rarely run it as killer (the last time I did, it was to do a daily instead of running a Mori), but when I've had success with it, it has usually been against teams so focused on pounding out gens that they ignored everything else to their own peril -- I've literally had my Devour totem spawn in the wide open near a gen and had survivors ignore it because it wasn't Ruin and watched them pay for it.
So in a nutshell, other than the purple Tombstone piece on Myers -- which I'll agree should be changed -- the others have counters and the ability to overcome them. The unexpected threat of imminent doom is one of the few times in the game, as a survivor, I actually can tense up during a game, which for a "horror" game, isn't a bad thing. As far as keys go -- while it's definitely aggravating to have survivors keys out in a situation where they wouldn't have escaped otherwise, at this point, when I play killer, I accept that it's a thing that can happen. My friend and I escaped a Rank 1 Demo with only 3 gens done with a key yesterday that I'm sure infuriated the killer (he slugged my friend with the key while we were looking for hatch with our two teammates dead -- I was able to find it, circle back to pick him up, and we scrambled out before the Demo could get back to us). As someone who has absolutely used the key to get out as a survivor numerous times, I can only complain so much when the shoe's on the other foot, lol.
-
This is something I can completely get behind, lol. Add another vote to add in Carl. π
-
Bad sportsmanship, for a lack of a better word, is spread around to people playing both roles -- anyone who buries their head in the sand to ignore that is being willfully ignorant.
I've played a lot of survivor since the event started, more than the usual 50/50 split I normally play. I've definitely noticed an uptick in tunneling and camping since the event started (and I'm one who thinks that the people who claim it happens all the time are normally exaggerating, since I simply don't see it with that level of frequency normally). There have been plenty of matches where the killer has gone ultra-hardcore out the gate, cakes and BPS be damned.
Conversely, I've played a lot of Pig -- the one killer who by reputation would be most likely to meme and/or farm -- and even bringing BPS and cakes and trying to show non-aggression at the start of the match to indicate a willingness to do so when there are numerous cakes in the lobby -- I've had a whopping ONE lobby that actually did so. The rest either played normally (which is fine), but I've had more "speed runs" and BM'ing lobbies by far than anything -- and again, that's with me signaling that I'm willing to farm BP.
My friend and I played a match today that encompassed the event from both ends, IMO. We loaded into a match, and about 30 seconds in, the other two players almost instantly DC'ed when they realized we were facing the Twins (and it didn't look like a crash, as it literally came when we heard Victor getting unbound, and as they were crossplay, they were more likely PC players and not console). My friend and I tried to play the match out normally, but the Twins player slugged my friend as he came to unhook me on a first hook at 5 gens. The killer got around 9K BP, I think -- and this was in a lobby with 5 cakes. We didn't expect to farm for 5 gens, but chasing him down to end a 2 v. 1 immediately (with Victor on his head) to slug him right as he got there for the rescue (in a game we obviously weren't going to win) was a waste of everyone's cakes, including theirs. Inconsiderate survivor teammates and an equally inconsiderate killer in that match = a perfect example of why people get frustrated with the game.

I stand by what I said. I am not inconsistent. You have a perspective on this that I believe is flawed and wrong. You can think you're right, and thats fine. I can too. Thats what opinions are for. Perspective matters and yes while the killer's intent may not always be to be mean to you when they do it, its much harder for me to believe that over a survivor hitting their crouch button a few times in a match. Now if they do it the whole match then yes its easier to conclude that survivor is probably trying to be mean to the killer.
We can agree to disagree. No harm in that.
I will add that you are a self-professed survivor main (or at least, I believe you've said you were -- if I'm mistaken on that, then my apologies in advance). Have you ever played killer? I can assure you that it's an eye-opening experience. As I said, my friends who are full-time survivor players who tried killer (and gave up quickly after the abuse they received from their opponents) have told me that, once they saw what it was like from the other end, they appreciated better what their opponents have to go up against at times. My perspective comes from being on the receiving end of "bad" behavior playing BOTH roles. It's harder to empathize with both sides or understand the problems/issues they face if you only see what things look like from one side of the street (and that goes both ways -- for killer players who never play survivor as well).
-
Escaping is obviously the goal, but it's not necessary. If I have a solid match, play better than I did the game before, and the team does well (and I hopefully pip up with good BP), I'm good.
I had a recent match where I essentually ran a Bubba for all 5 gens as he mercilessly tunnelled me into the ground and face-camped me after eating a DS. I still got satisfaction because the rest of my team got out because of his tunnelling -- I wore it as a badge of honor, lol.

Yes I am consistent with my positions. There's a difference between someone who tbags the killer 50 times in the match at every pallet and in the exit just to be mean to them and someone who does it just a few times in harmless jest to have fun with the killer. Also tbagging doesn't remove the killer from the match early. Survivors can be mean to killers but there is a far stretch between someone who does it a couple times during a match and someone who does it all match. Do you see now how proper perspectives on situational things matter? If you think a survivor bouncing up and down a few times is as mean as a killer beating their brains out then your idea of what is being mean to someone in this game is very strange to me.
You're making incorrect assumptions about myself or playstyle. I've been very clear as to how I play. I do NOT taunt the killer. I do NOT act "toxic" as a survivor. That said, I do NOT whack people on hook, or facecamp survivors, or any other "toxic" behaviors when I play killer, since I view those actions as inappropriate when they're done to me and bad form, and I'm try to be as "nice" a player as I can no matter what role I'm playing at the time.
You never answered a point I made earlier. If a Mori is somehow "mean" or "toxic", do you not think slinging a "person" onto a bloody hook that impales them through their shoulder, causing them to scream out in pain, isn't "mean" also? Using your own logic, I could say that I find that YOUR idea of what is "mean" and what isn't is strange to ME, but I won't take the assumption-making path you did about me. (We could discuss how this isn't actually "real" -- that it's a game in which one role sacrifices/kills the other role -- and that playing the game as intended isn't the same as actions that aren't part of any in-game objective advancing, but one of etiquette, but that's another story altogether).
I'm simply pointing out your inconsistency -- you can claim you're being consistent, but I'm sorry -- you're not. You personally don't find a harmless teabag here and there insulting to a killer or a taunt -- but it's been clear over time that other people (particularly newer players) DO. I have friends who won't touch killer because of the relentless taunting they've gotten in-game when they were just starting out, so I've heard it first-hand from full-time survivors who'll never play killer again because there's no fun in being mocked and taunted by better players when learning.
There's no way to read intent in-game between what you call harmless teabagging and taunting teabagging -- some of it might be a "hello" teabag, some might be a "come chase me" teabag", some might be a "you suck, you're a loser" teabag -- but the motion in-game is still all the same. What you consider to be harmless, someone else might find insulting to them. Just in the way that you might not like the Mori animations, but other players find them harmless and fun. I can usually tell the difference between the worst offenders and the ones who are just looking for a fun chase, but not always -- if you want to point me to the "teabag interpretation guide", I'd love to see it so I know the differences. π€
Simply acknowledging that what you consider harmless might be offensive to someone else would be showing a consistent viewpoint on your part. Even if I don't agree with your take on Moris, I won't begrudge how it affects YOU, so I AM being consistent -- while doing so, you'll find no post I've ever made on this forum defending tunneling, camping, whacking people on hook, purposefully leaving people bleed out, etc. while condemning "toxic" survivor actions. But if you want to follow your reasoning from the prior thread I quoted you from -- defending particular behavior from a strictly survivor viewpoint -- then you're utilizing one standard for what is "mean" killer behavior -- due to how it impacts YOUR feelings -- and another for survivors by ignoring other people's feelings about something you think is fine.
And I don't know where you equate the Mori -- what this thread was about - with your claim about the killer "ending the match early". This isn't the old Mori we're talking about, obviously.

Did you mean "biased"? And did you realize I agreed with you?

I play 50/50, killer/survivor (give or take). I rarely eat a DS, and I run it on every survivor build it's available on, for context.
I would welcome this change. It would definitely aid in the anti-tunneling aspect, and it still wouldn't affect the way I'd approach things from the killer aspect. I'm not sure how it could be abused from a survivor end, so I don't see an issue there. The issues with it being abused were removed with the last changes that were made.

I'm a survivor main. Surviving is my objective and interest in the game. I'm not interested in seeing my character get murdered in a "cool animation" so for me personally its not something I care about. I'm trying to escape to avoid that. Moris are not required to win a match so to me it just feels like a completely unnecessary thing to do. I've had just about all of them happen to me and never once was I excited for it or thought it was cool. The way I see them is just a taunt at the survivor for losing. You can disagree with me this but remember that was my opinion of how I personally feel about them. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person that feels that way about them either if many post game chats I've seen in mori matches mean anything.
A reminder, that in a previous thread, you said this:
"Also I don't really think tbagging is that offensive. I personally think its funny in most situations. Maybe if the survivors had more animations? I'd like to see a wave animation. I also think it'd be pretty awesome if survivors could dance but I'm sure that would be called toxic too."
So, for reference, I play both sides about equally. Your feeling is that Mories are a taunt -- many people who play the killer role feel that teabagging is a direct taunt. You argued there that it was "funny" and essentially a harmless gesture. Many people who play killer would feel that the Mori, at this point in its existence, is equally harmless.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you feel that Mories are "toxic" and "mean" to survivors, then you should equally feel the same about the taunting aspects of teabagging, which you defended, and the way they could be construed to be "toxic" and "mean" to killer players (or the way killers who've been trounced in a match would likely view "dancing" in their face after a loss). If you don't acknowledge that and defend one while condemning the other, you might want to check on the definition of "double stadard".
Again, as someone who plays both sides in the game, and who doesn't engage in that type of stuff from the survivor end, and someone who hardly ever played the Mori even before the change (and I've run a Ivory one ONCE since the change, for a daily, and I waited until everyone had been hooked once and more than one person twice before I used it), I'm consistent with my positions. Are you?

I ran red herring before. But discarded it as a perk to troll other survivors. But now with blast mine...
I love blast mine!
As do I! I can't count the number of times I've scurried away from a gen saying out loud, "Kick it ... kick it ..." and bursting out laughing when I see the notification of the blind.
As someone who couldn't use a flashlight if their life depended on it, I've found it invaluable as well to finish off old Rift challenges that required a blind of the killer.

You guys are still using/seeing moris?
I haven't seen one since... damn, I can't even remember.
Same here. I can remember seeing them multiple times in a long session of playing survivor (4-5 hours of gameplay a night, 3-4 nights a week) before the change. Now, I see them maybe once a week in the same amount of gameplay. As killer, I almost never ran them, except for a daily. Now, I'm as likely to run Devour Hope to get those daily challenges done.

I ran that combo when I was doing the Red Herring Rift Challenge. I imagine the killer ... was not happy with me, lol. π

For strictly meme purposes, I think Red Herring and Blast Mine has as much comedic potential as well.

When and if that happens, survivors should have a way to block the use of them through offerings. I've never liked moris and just see them as a means for killers to be mean or toxic to survivors. I guess I'll try to enjoy the RE chapter while I can because that change is not something I think I'll want to be a part of.
Tunneling someone right off of first hook when old Moris were a thing could certainly have been considered toxic, or at least, "mean".
But how in the world could the Mori used now, when a survivor is already dead, possibly in ANY world be considered "mean" or toxic? Using that logic, how is the killer sacrificing anyone at all NOT considered mean or "toxic" when it's accomplishing the same thing essentially (unless it's being using to bypass a 2nd hook DS)?
When I played survivor with the old Mori, I would dread seeing the last offering not flip over, knowing that one mistake early in a match would probably mean a ridiculously short game on my end. Now when I play survivor, the Mori offering instills no feeling of dread or worry at all -- it's simply a different death animation. Considering how neat some of them are, I would rather be Moried for my death as a survivor in a match than just thrown on a hook -- especially if it's Ghostface (who has the funniest -- and IMO, the best -- of them all).
I'm hoping that the upcoming rework will remove them from the bloodwebs -- they're currently a waste for the most part, and as neat as the animations are, I pretty much never run them as killer, so I do everything in my power to avoid getting them.

I give hatch or gate a lot, and are there are some survivors that will always refuse it. It's very rare but they do exist.
Same here. I give a lot of hatches, and other than the obviously new player who might not understand the mechanic, I've only had a couple who wouldn't take it. One was a survivor who had kobed off the hook earlier in the match, and to respect the 4%. I tried to give them hatch at the end, and they kept crawling away to a hook instead.

It's weird how when you're Survivor, you seem to mostly get the salty and tunnel happy sweat lords trying to 4K as soon as possible cause this game is totally some esports potential.
Then you switch to Killer and instead of getting these teams that are casual or noobs... you get the SWF team bringing their key and not caring to do anything besides the gens.
I remember during the one year's event hooks and gens where I'd face IH Huntress or Bubbas literally sitting on the event gen or face SWF squads sabotaging my event hooks. Community certainly has not changed.
That sounds strangely familiar to my experiences so far, lol.
In a ton of survivor rounds I've played in two days, I think we had a whopping one killer who farmed, no matter how many cake offerings were present. We had mostly ones who played "normal", which is fine -- farming is not expected, but a nice surprise when it happens. We definitely had a number of tunnelers or face-campers, though -- definitely more than usual (a special shout out to the Oni who, with 4 cakes in the lobby, ran the wall-hack build, sent us to Lery's, and mercilessly slugged the 4K at 4 gens).
My killer rounds, I've WANTED to be nicer. My Pig rounds, I've brought cakes/BPS with the idea that, playing as THE killer who is most likely to meme, survivors would at least want to see if I was up for it. Considering I've started every match non-aggresively, crouching and oinking to try to coax a Snoot Boop to signal a farm-fest, I would have thought at least ONE group would have been up for it with so many BP there for the taking in games with literally 4-5 cakes/BPS. The number of survivor groups to play along? Zero. But I did get taunting and teabagging from at least one, which literally made me wonder why someone would want to antagonize a killer purposefully when so many potential BP were there for the taking (spoilers: that didn't go well for that survivor, lol).
It's only two days in, but I definitely feel like there were less players on both sides going all-out last year than there have been so far this year.

Please. You and I know you play for you only regardless of events or survivor play style. You donβt have to fib. You killers donβt play nice or fair ever.
Your continued willful ignorance in every thread you post in is astounding if it's not intentional. π
"You killers". You always keep throwing that term around like it actually is a real thing. Stop being so puerile with everything you post.
There are no such thing as "killers" or "survivors" who are playing DBD -- those are ROLES. What exists are PEOPLE, real human beings, who are playing the game. There are nice people who play ALL aspects of the game, including both sides of the coin, and there are not-so-nice people who play it. There's not something inherently "fair" or "nice" or whatever term you want to throw around here about a ROLE IN A VIDEO GAME -- those qualities apply to the PEOPLE themselves playing the game, and they occupy BOTH sides of the fence, whether your continued biased mindset wants to accept it or not.
I play both sides -- something it's obvious by your continued nonsensical gibberish that you don't do. I've been tunnelled and facecamped and left to bleed out by killers when I play survivor and it absolutely sucked. But I've been given hatch, or allowed to farm when some selfish teammate DC's because they were found first, or played in matches against killers who played as fair as they could and just happened to be really good. And I have numerous examples I would point you to of matches where I farmed willingly, or showed mercy when then was a DC, or just memed around to have fun with a group, or in a serious match, played "fair" when I was a killer, but giving you those examples would be pointless, because you'd just ignore them to continue on with your quixotic crusade against -- what exactly?
Your divisive rhetoric does no good to anyone, it shows a complete lack of awareness of what actually goes on in the game and on here, it's the sign of a mindset that does the community as a whole absolutely no good, and it's just plain wrong. Just. Stop. Already.
-
I played Piggie -- the killer most likely to meme (and in theory, farm) -- to start tonight (after 4 hours of survivor play with literally zero farming killers, no matter how many cakes in the lobby).
I brought BPS (no cakes on her at that point) and saw my first lobby, who I assumed afterwards to be a 4-person SWF, bring 4 cakes with them. If there was any opportunity to farm, that should have been it, no?
I approached the survivors (who were grouped up, as they had burned a shroud to have everyone spawn together) crouched and oinking, not committing to a regular chase and seeing if non-aggression to start would signal a willingness to farm what would have been a huge BP round for everyone. Three of the survivors looked to be playing it normally, so I committed to a regular match at that point. The 4th survivor, however -- A Laurie -- decided that taunting me and teabagging me from the start was the way to go.
Sigh. π€¦ββοΈ
Needless to say, things went poorly for the Laurie. I ended up with a 3K, and the Dwight (a rank 1 who was clearly the best of the group, and who played "respectfully" the entire match), I ended up giving the hatch to after he approached me to boop at the end. Everyone left BP on the table (no one more so than the Laurie, who I neither tunnelled nor camped, but who was the first survivor dead and got by far the fewest BP of the group), but I completely understand if players don't want to farm, even if I'm willing to be nice. But the idea that someone wants to purposefully antagonize a killer who would have been harmless, and do so with that many BP riding on the match was simply mind-boggling to me.

Not going to lie, I do not understand how survivor even has a playerbase. I get that SWF is basically the only option for co-op. But why anyone would solo queue into a game that is just repair the generator simulation until you get mercd by the killer is just beyond my comprehension. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. It gives me people to play against, and I appreciate that.
I can't be the only person having success as a solo, can I?
I've had to play a LOT more solo lately when I'm playing survivor and not killer (due to scheduling conflicts with the members of a group I'll normally SWF with) -- and my results have been actually really good. I'm legitimately escaping far more often than not, and while I've gotten the occasional random teammates who aren't the most ... helpful ... I've had solid teammates for the most part (this is at essentially Red Ranks). My escape rate has been better than when I'm playing with my friends, lol. π€
Obviously, everyone has a different experience, but this has been going on for the better of a couple of weeks now over numerous matches. And I will freely admit that I'm not particularly good at survivor, either -- I have relatively good game awareness about what to do, when, and why -- and I can hold down a button to repair -- but my looping skills are mediocre at best. After the horror stories bandied around about solo play, I've been more than pleasantly surprised at my results.
-
It runs in cycles for me. There are days I'll play survivor and I/we don't have anyone on the team tunneled the entire session (4-5 hours of gameplay at a time), and there are those days where it feels like tunneling killers are the norm and not the exception.
The only time I've really felt like it was happening more than normal was the day or two after the DLC release. My friend and I were facing one Nemesis after another, almost all of which were tunneling someone out the gate -- but in most of those cases, it was people trying for Adept, which is why I assumed we were seeing so much of it. (I'm definitely not excusing it for that reason -- it was annoying as hell to go against, but there was at least some logic as to why we were seeing it. The ones who were NOT going for Adept but still tunneling, however ... π€¬).

The Pig.
Hangman's trick, i think is the worst killer perk.
Surveillance is good on paper but in practice i don't find it to be that effective.
Make your choice is only good on killers that can quickly travel like demogorgon or freddy. Otherwise it's hard to track who is even exposed.
I'll politely disagree. I do agree that Hangman's Trcik is completely useless -- I don't think I've ever seen anyone run it in a match before, unless it was someone looking for Adept Pig.
Surveillance is a very useful perk in the right build, though. Paired with Ruin, I get a lot of value out of it when playing Pig in particular, but as long as you have generator regression going on, it's a great info perk (even though it's currently bugged and unreliable at the moment at times). The louder gen repair sounds have also proven useful as well, at least to me.
MYC is a powerful perk on killers with high mobility -- it's a staple on my Wraith build. Once I get an initial hook, matches turn into one insta-down after another with it. Not a great perk on every killer, but far more useful than some of the other killer perks listed here. I think Pig has two solid, if situational, perks -- not the worst, IMO.
Speaking of Wraith -- yeah, it's probably him I don't think I've ever run one of his perks, unless it was for a Rift challenge.

I love playing against Nemesis. The hilarious Zombie interactions alone have made it more fun going against a killer than anyone introduced in a while. π
I played against a Nemesis recently who was running the add-on that respawns Zombies in the exit gates after the last gen is done. Opened a gate while injured and Nemesis was headed for me, popped the gate -- and got downed by the Zombie waiting on the other side! I couldn't even be mad-- it was hilarious! π€£

A new twist. For years now the game's menu has been a lagfest, in particular the bloodweb. When leveling Jill today into the 40's the web would hang once the last spot was taken. None of the left hand icons would work when clicked on, can't leave the web page, not even tapping "b" to back out.
The only way I got out of the web was to click on the Archive. The autosave kicked in as it loaded the rift, and backing out of that brought me back to the web as the next level of the web loads. Rinse and repeat.
Never ever had this happen before. Anyone else experiencing this?
It's happened to me, and it's not a new bug. I had it happen months ago, and it's happened on multiple occasions. It's a royal pain in the rear when you're trying to move through a Bloodweb while being readied up in a lobby. π€¬

No, just let the killer be aware that it's there.
Get hit with it and you'll know someone has it, lol.
There are plenty of powerful killer perks that survivors don't know for certain are present, but have to guess at through seeing what the killer is doing and why (BBQ, Nurse's, Tinkerer, NOED until EGC, just to name a few), so it's not just survivor perks that stay "hidden". Once you've been stunned once, as killer you have to take note as to who was on the gen before you kicked it (if possible) and weigh whether or not further gen kicking is worth the delay (that will be situational).
