I've gone up against survivors running it, and I've played it myself as survivor. It is definitely NOT too strong. It's fine as it is.
And as noted, it goes towards the blind/stun challenges. I'm terrible with a flashlight, and I got an old Rift challenge to blind the killer done by running the perk. 😁

I've seen a LOT of survivors get downed and picked up in the exit gate for crouch spamming too much. Also tbagging killers during the match could divert a killer's attention. Hitting a survivor on the hook is just mean and toxic. Yea it may buy the survivors a few extra seconds on gens but its not as game changing as making a killer chase you. Its situational. Like I said, I only like doing it against a ghost face that does it too or against toxic killers. Other than that I don't even bother. I rarely play killer and its usually just for the daily win experience or to goof off with the survivors. When I do, I honestly love it when they all tbag me. Its just funny to me. Maybe if I actually played killer and cared about my rank with it I would feel differently but really I just think its funny to see bouncing survivors just trying to have fun.
Your experience will vary, obviously.
I play 50/50 or so, and a LOT of hours on both. I play more Pig, the one killer that's known for survivors being able to meme with, more than any other killer.
Survivors who approach me to Boop the Snoot when I'm The Pig (which, incidentally, guarantees I won't kill you if you do so in a match with me) = survivors who want to just have fun. I've had plenty of matches that turn into farming games, and countless people who've gotten doors/hatches from me who have fun that I can have with them.
Example of this kind of "fun".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azo1_GXJ7Zk&list=PLC2rL4BtEvpu37EzsT36X2SS3vL2Igksg&index=54&ab_channel=GeriatricGamingSurvivors who teabag me at every pallet dropped when I'm playing the Pig, as if they just pulled off the greatest play in DBD history = survivors who aren't trying to have "fun", unless showing me up and doing it at my expense is considered "fun". Which for them, it would be -- me, less so. Those matches, more often than not, end up with almost no one having actual "fun". Those matches usually are sweat-fests that either end with everyone dead, or everyone taunting at an exit gate, with no in-between.
That's the one good thing about playing The Pig so often. Survivors who are playing just for fun vs. those who are trying to have fun at a killer's expense are easy to sort out.

The killer still has the opportunity to hit me if I tbag. I can't do anything on a hook if the killer hits me on it. If they're tbagging at the exit gate, then M1 them out. There is no comparison. Killers hitting survivors on the hook is toxic. As far as tbagging goes, I have had several matches where me and the killer would interact with each other doing this and we'd both have fun doing it. Its especially fun against a ghost face that plays along. Also consider that survivors often do get overly excited for actually making it to the exit gate and like I've said before our ways to interact with players is limited. We get a point, a follow motion and a crouch. Sometimes they're just excited to escape. Sometimes they're doing it to taunt the killer. I personally find a survivor bouncing up and down to be funny. Find the humor in it instead of just getting offended every time. There isn't much humor to find on a hook being hit over and over though. Also I must clarify that I rarely tbag in matches. Its either against a ghost face thats doing it too or against a killer that thought they were going to get away with a camp, tunnel or slug but lost. If I played killer I'd honestly be sad if survivors didn't tbag me. It just looks funny to me and I know they're just trying to have fun too. DBD really does not other game modes that aren't always about the pip.
There absolutely is a comparison between hitting someone on the hook for no benefit in the game and teabagging/flashlight spamming in the exit of a game that's already been decided for no benefit in the game. Just because you're okay with one and not the other doesn't change that fact -- both actions provide no progress towards a game objective. What you consider harmless "fun", someone else may not. If you said, "I'd never hit someone on hook, but I can see why a killer might have "fun" doing it, so I won't get offended", then at least your position would be consistent.

Stop hitting me on the hook, camping, tunneling and slugging (saying this to all killers who actually do this btw) and maybe you'll see less tbagging? Survivors get so many toxic killers that its just part of how many people play now. Also I don't really think tbagging is that offensive. I personally think its funny in most situations. Maybe if the survivors had more animations? I'd like to see a wave animation. I also think it'd be pretty awesome if survivors could dance but I'm sure that would be called toxic too.
I'm going to play devil's advocate. When I play survivor, I don't do anything considered toxic -- no teabagging ever, I leave the match when I know my teammates are either safe or dead, and I don't locker/vault spam, flashlight spam etc. When I play killer, I don't hit anyone on hook, no camping, no tunneling if at all possible, and I only slug if that's the best option available (not the "slug four people and let them all bleed out" situation, which I would consider toxic).
You said you don't think teabagging is offensive -- but hitting you on hook is? Let's look at them both objectively. Teabagging the killer in the exit of a match you've already won accomplishes nothing. You don't get points for it. You don't advance an objective. You're not distracting the killer or taking on aggro at that point (the ONLY reason teabagging could be considered viable is to do that early in a match, if you're the best looper by far in a SWF and want to waste a killer's time in chase). Those exit gate teabags contribute nothing to a successful result in a match.
Hitting a person on hook? Same thing. It accomplishes nothing towards futhering the killer's objective. They get no extra points for it, or any in-game benefit. It won't distract other survivors or lead to anyone doing a risky save. Like the teabagging in the exit gate, it accomplishes nothing in-game.
So to be consistent, you'd have to consider those on equal footing, right -- and either take a different stance on the teabagging or the hitting on hook as to not be hypocritical? As I said, I don't do either, because I consider both BM'ing, so MY stance is consistent.

Nemesis is the first killer since the Blight that actually has a lot of people interested in playing them, so that's probably a factor.
I think that the console issues can't be ignored either. There's a lot of people I know who play console and who mainly play survivor who've tossed in the towel and just aren't playing right now. I'd be curious as to how many console players have been chased away from the game since the RE launch and how that might be affecting queue times on both ends.
For me, I've been playing a lot of solo survivor with shorter waits than normal (and doing so with great success -- 6 rounds and 5 escapes over the last day, but my solo experiences have actually been continuously good overall). My killer queues were still almost instant during peak hours two days ago (while my SWF survivor queues were shorter than normal, but still required a little bit of a wait), so while I think it's being affected during the day, peak times in my region (NA) haven't changed all that much.
-
My first match as killer, I couldn't land a single hit.
It took me multiple rounds before I ever got a single hook. When I finally got my first sacrifice, I was pretty stoked.
It takes a while to learn how to play killer successfully, but it will take some time. At beginning ranks, as long as you're being paired up with survivors of equal inexperience (which is unfortunately, not a given), you'll find that, once you learn the mechanics of the game, the game favors killers at those ranks.
As was said, the game is not very-friendly to a new player, but once you get the hang of it, it gets very rewarding once things fall into place.

I'm colourblind and literally cannot see the red auras through the corn, of gens or downed people etc.
I still have trouble tracking people by scratch marks with all the crap on the floor.
I have been on that map an inordinate number of times over the last two days. Played 5 straight farm maps as a solo survivor yesterday, with no offerings to influence it. Played 4 killer rounds today, with another 2 on the farm (one of the two non-farm matches had a survivor map offering to go to Midwich). I've seen so much corn the last 48 hours, it's ridiculous, lol.
I have trouble seeing auras as well. Multiple times yesterday, a survivor was downed and I couldn't see where they were until they were hooked.

This is so funny. I just had a match against a Legion who downed me last, one person on hook, and proceeded to carry me around the map until he found hatch. He then dropped me in view of hatch so he could close it. He then picked me up and took me to the exit gate and let me get the door to about 95% just to down me and hook me in the basement and them proceeded to hit me until I totally disappeared.
I think it's laughable that there are people out there that think survivors are more toxic than killers
I think it's laughable that people out there think that only people on one side are poor sports, as it happens often on BOTH sides. 🙄
Over about 8 hours of gameplay from yesterday and this morning, I really only saw two instances of someone being a poor sport and/or toxic behavior. Played solo against a Legion yesterday. I was the last survivor left, the killer had brought a Cypress Mori, they downed me, carried me to the hatch they'd closed already, then Moried me on top of the hatch. They could Moried me where they downed me (which wasn't near the hatch -- I didn't wiggle when I was picked up), but bringing me to the hatch to do it I thought was a sign of poor sportsmanship and someone who couldn't win gracefully, but who wanted to gloat? Whatever floats their boat, I guess.
Today, I played a Pig round -- found a Lisa who started off with immediate teabagging, and I downed her almost instantly. A few hooks later, I downed her again. I had hooked everyone once at this point, and with the game slowly slipping away, when I found her again after the unhook, I let her go, when I could have easily tunneled them out of the game. Ended up with a lot of hooks but no kills, and of course, as I'm chasing people out of the exit, there's the Lisa who could easily have been dead teabagging away and spamming their flashlight with a macro. A perfect example of another poor sport/toxic behavior.
I play pretty equally survivor/killer, and the stupid, juvenile behavior I see comes equally from both sides. It's not exclusive to one role, and people who suggest it is are simply misinformed.
-
I have made a ton of friends through the game! Most have come when I've played killer -- I've sent GG messages to people who've played really well against me -- but I've also sent messages to randoms who've been survivors in a match with me or to killers who've also played really well. The people I SWF with (with the exception of my friend who started playing the game with in the beginning) are all people I've met in this fashion. 🙂

To killers it doesn’t matter. They need that 4K and nobody else’s fun, points, or game play experience matter.
Your bias is laughable, as usual. I've literally stopped bringing Gauteau Cakes and BPS whenever I play killer, simply because it's a recipe for all gens done in less than 5 minutes and a host of teabagging at the exit gates. I'm probably sitting on close to 100 cakes combined over multiple killers that I refuse to use at this point. Both killers and survivors do the same things, and it's simply ignorance to pretend that it's not the case.
To the OP -- I don't expect anyone to farm when I play BPS or Cakes as a survivor or a killer, but I'll agree it's frustrating to see that happen, from either side. My hope when I play survivor or killer is that my opponent(s) won't go completely hardcore, but as some people have pointed out, some players on both sides only get the satisfaction of a "W".
I posted in the "Wholesome moments" thread that, a while back, I actually decided to bring in BPS while playing a Pig round -- and saw three other BPS and an Escape Cake from the four survivors (who I assumed were a 4-person SWF at that point). I had doubts, based on past experiences, that things would go well, but once I found the survivors clumped together near the beginning and ready to Boop, we had one of the best farming matches I've ever had. Everyone cleaned up ridiculous BP's, and I'm sure everyone safety pipped or better, so I still hold out for more good than bad and hope that's what I'll see during the event.
(Of course, the next time I brought a cake in and survivors brought multiple BPS, I was welcomed with a Haddonfield offering, three Commodius Toolboxes with BNP's, and a flashlight wielder with a macro and teabags galore resulting in one of the quickest games I've ever played -- if you can call it a game -- so there's that, lol).

I posted this for someone else before, so I'll cut and paste it here:
As someone who plays The Pig a LOT, a few thoughts -- other Pig players experience with her will obviously vary, but there's always more than one way to play a killer successfully. A lot of good advice has already been given in this thread -- my own experiences are here can be taken for what they're worth, simply one player's experience.
-- You're gifted with an innate in-game slowdown in the form of your traps, so use them. Some Pig players like to save them, but I start busting them out immediately. Nothing worse than having the last gen pop, and you still have a trap left that's been rendered useless. Survivors will, for the most part, start searching boxes immediately, even if their trap isn't active, so that's a survivor that's NOT working on a generator. That slowdown is invaluable in a game where gens can go by so quickly.
-- That said, additional slowdown perks for gen regression are useful, if almost necessary, to hang with coordinated Red Rank squads. Corrupt paired with Pop can work, though Pop can be unreliable at times. Even though she's not a high mobility killer, I will run Ruin paired with Undying -- again, once a survivor has a trap on, particularly an active one, they won't be looking for your totem. I tend to run Surveillance with her as well, and I get a TON of use out of it with Ruin (as long as the totems stay up). I run BBQ with her mainly to reduce the BP grind, but Enduring or Brutal Strength is a 4th good perk since you'll be eating through pallets, or Save The Best For Last (since you can save stacks by using your Ambush Attack on the Obsession). Sloppy Butcher isn't bad either, as survivors who take longer healing won't be searching boxes or working on gens. Any additional slowdown you can get is good for you.
-- Stealth is not her strength, but it still can be useful. Her terror radius doesn't go away immediately like Ghostface, and after you uncrouch, there's a brief period that it takes to come back. She moves painfully slow while crouched, so while it's okay to use it to move around, you have to be selective -- you don't want to be crossing the entire map while crouched. I get a lot of cheeky hits using her crouch to stealth back to a generator that Surveillance tells me someone has jumped back on. You don't have to use her Ambush attack in those instances -- using her stealth simply to get close to a survivor and in position to land a hit before they can reach a pallet or window is often enough. There are many matches where I barely use her stealth at all and are still successful with her.
-- Thought a lot of people want to label it as useless, I find her ambush attack is VERY underrated at loops that aren't large ones. If you can break line of sight -- and even better if you can get into the pallet -- you can turn it into a no-win for the survivor if they hesitate and don't run immediately away. Here's a great example of how I'll land that type of hit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKD_e1RxhYk&list=PLC2rL4BtEvpu37EzsT36X2SS3vL2Igksg&index=28&ab_channel=GeriatricGamingIf you think survivors are anticipating you using the Ambush at a loop, you can also FAKE using her Ambush Attack as well, since her roar telegraphs it (something that it would be nice if that would be changed down the line). You can crouch and snort, faking that you're charging the Ambush Attack, then immediately pop back up after a survivor has run from what might have been a safe tile for them and land a hit while they're in the open scrambling to another tile.
-- Her best add-ons are the Combat Straps, which are a common that reduce her crouch time, and either the Video Tape (an uncommon that reduces the time it takes to charge the Ambush Attack and the cooldown if you miss) or the Last Will (which gives you a 5th trap). If you're feeling particularly spicy, the Tampered Timer/Crate of Gears is deadly, if for no other reason than only the most experienced survivors will realize you're running it before someone dies (if they notice that you're putting the trap on them slightly quicker than normal). I've had survivors die to the TT simply because they got healed off of hook with an active trap and got pushed off of a box somewhere along the way. Her other add-ons are not really anything to write home about -- the one that puts an extra Jigsaw box isn't terrible. Amanda's Secret is a nice meme build that is similar to Scratched Mirror Myers (you get only 1 trap but wallhacks when crouched), but you need an indoor map to really make that work (Hawkins is probably the best place to run that build).
-- Speaking of traps, the best way to start a round is to get a down and a trap on a survivor's head before the 1st gen pops. If you can do that, you'll have immediate pressure on. While it might be tempting to chase after a trapped survivor, that's NOT the way to play her. The trap IS the pressure, not you chasing after the person who's trapped. RNG can sometimes be cruel -- it's frustrating to see everyone getting their traps off immediately -- but that's still time they have to do something OTHER than work on a gen, which gives you additional time to get the downs you need to win.
-- The exception to the above rule is when you come across someone on a Jigsaw box, it's always worth it to harass them off of it, even if you don't commit to chasing them. They lose all progress on the box, and if it chases them all the way to another box somewhere else, even better. If, while chasing someone, you run across someone searching a box who's injured, downing them and continuing your chase can provide a ton of pressure.
-- Finally, players are going to want to meme with you when you play The Pig. I honor every Boop of the Snoot by letting that person live -- I've even let whole teams farm who are willing to Boop out the gate -- but that's not a requirement. If you don't want to meme with your survivors, a quick attack will let them know you mean business, lol.
I'm not an "expert" by any measure, but I have played hundreds of rounds as her, and I've made it to Rank 1 playing the majority of matches as her. She can compete, even against very good survivors, and she's a lot of fun to play.
Other people have recommended him, and I concur: the best Pig player I know of is a player by the name of Scorpionz -- he has a whole Pig guide on his channel (here -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UOlX6azR3A&ab_channel=Scorpionz). While I don't follow everything he says to do, I think there's more than one way to play the Pig successfully, and I have learned a lot watching him (particularly about using the Ambush Attack).
Hope some of that helps -- and good luck playing The Pig! 🙂

I’m so bored of using this nonsense excuse every time someone is trying to justify playing survivor being easy, or that holding w is toxic. The truth is killers hold w just as much, if not more than survivors.
Most killers simply run after survivors, almost never doing any mind game, other than maybe at shack. If survivors are getting enough distance on you to hold w, they’re either playing bad getting off gens constantly, or you’ve misplayed a chase. In my experience, survivors perform much more mind games in chase compared to killers, so to say most survivors, even at red ranks are w key holders is a complete fabrication of reality. I don’t think we should be calling survivor easy when Spirit, Freddy, Wraith and Bubba are in the game!
It's not toxic, but it's easily the best way to survive if you're not a God-tier looper. I'm not terribly good at looping, but I've learned lately that I don't need to be to extend a chase and buy time for my team to do gens so we escape. I rarely ran an exhaustion perk before, but I've started using Sprint Burst again -- killer approaches, I sprint away. If the killer chases me, I run pallet to pallet, loop to loop as long as I can. Drop a pallet and the killer doesn't break it, I try to loop it until they do or they catch up and land a hit, then on to the next loop. Killer breaks it, I run to the next loop a little sooner, rinse and repeat.
If the killer doesn't straight up abandon me after watching me SB away, by the time I'm downed eventually after the continued "run away" strategy, at least 2-3 gens are popped, unless I'm playing with complete potatoes (and since I'm more often than not playing with at least one or more people as part of a SWF, that's not the case). In those matches, I'll gladly eat a hook state to see 2 or fewer gens left to be done with at least another hook state to count on (and DS in my back pocket if I get tunneled off of hook).
While I've improved at looping, at this point, there's not much reason to NOT just run (unless it's against a killer that can negate that, like a Nurse or a Spirit). My survival rate has definitely gone up doing so.

Hey all,
Due to recent circumstances, I find myself uninterested in continuing my DBD experience both on the Forums, and on the live game.
As such, I'l be quitting both for the foreseeable future. Don't ask why I was jailed, I don't think I can tell you and some of you probably already know.
I hope you all keep the thread going in my absence, this issue remains near and dear to me, I may upload some final clips.
Love you guys,
Pulsar
Sorry to hear that. 😥 From what I've seen, you seem to be a very level-headed, objective person who understands balance issues facing the game from playing both roles in it, as well as those from a performance end. What you and so many other console players have gone through is inexcusable at this point, and the fact you feel like you can't play a game you clearly are invested in is a complete failure on the part of game design and the implementation of it.
I hope the issues with the game eventually get resolved, before console players throw their hands up and give up (I've dodged them being on a PS5, but I have friends on the PS4 who are seriously considering abandoning the game entirely). Stay well, and hope you're back soon.
-
As survivor:
1) Lery's. That's probably the map I've survived the least on. Gens can be difficult to find, it's a small map, totem locations can be really hard unless you're running a perk, and even with all of the vaults/windows, the pallets aren't great and if you play against someone who knows how to cut you off, even the windows won't save you. Any escape from Lery's is particularly satisfying.
2) Midwich. Again, gens can be trickier to find, a lot of hallway simulator in chase, it's a really small map, good totem locations, and the exit doors are always going to be close together, making escape against a high mobility killer (or when there's less than 4 people remaining) far more difficult. I love the visuals of the map, but it's tougher to win on.
3) Glenvale. Yep, the saloon can be a super-strong building, but an experienced killer knows not to get caught up chasing through it. The gens are close together on a small map making it easier for a killer to defend, the outsides of half of the map are mostly dead zones with nothing to use in chase, the totem spawns are some of the best in the game, and the brush-as-hiding-spots is overrated. My friend claims it's a great survivor map, except we die far more often than we live when we go there, lol.
As killer:
1) Haddonfield. I don't think I need to go into any detail here. Too many long fences and hedges, ridiculous looping areas in certain buildings, gens on three different height levels to defend, etc. Like Midwich, it's faithful to the license, but it's a pain to play on, even when I do well on it.
2) ANY corn map, lol. I suffer from corn-blindness, and the reworked maps feel like they've been buffed for survivors (which may just be personal bias on my part). I hate seeing games load up into these maps -- they fall into the "visually they're nicer, but play worse" for me.
3) Mother's Dwelling. As a mainly Pig player, a huge map is potentially a problem, and this map is the biggest. The "Hold W and run pallet-to-pallet" meta is strong on a map that is so spread out. If I'm facing a team that knows how to split up and effectively work on generators (and worse, spawn apart to start the match), a game here feels like a "L" before it even gets started, unless someone makes a huge mistake on their end.

Either Skeleton Keys or Rainbow Maps would work? Goodluck finding that from a chest, even with looting perks.
I think they had a challenge similar to this one in a past Rift, and I brought in either a Skeleton Key or a Map to get it done, so that's pretty much my plan this time around. I have a decent number of both saved up on a few survivors, but it might take a few tries. Plunderer's + Appraisal might be the back-up option if supplies run low, lol.

BNP and/or syringe should not count for the challenge, as they're add-ons for an item, and not the item itself.

Yes remove bloodlust as well. Killers today can’t compete on red ranks due to lack of skill progression as game is so killer favored outside red ranks. How can we help these killer mains?
Judging by your multiple threads every day about how impossible it is to play survivor, ridiculous suggestions like this one (nerfing all killers movement) that no one who actually plays the game normally could take seriously, past statements you've made where you defend survivor toxicity but condemn it from killer ends to illustrate hypocrisy, to today mocking a suggestion from a player who's on console and having optimization issues to others having similar issues, I would think it's pretty obvious that any lack of skill -- or persepctive -- or objectivity -- is coming from YOUR end.
This game might not be for you.

Thanks. I’ve been so upset as I’m not getting the constant easy 4K rounds. Yesterday I got a 3k and literally felt like breaking something. I can’t wait until this is fixed so it’s back to easy 4K games. If I wanted a challenge I’d play survivor!
Only you could take a serious issue such as console optimization -- and the amount it's affecting people on consoles who play all elements of the game -- and use it as a mocking point for your usual drivel that adds nothing to the conversation. Pathetic.
-
I've been playing a lot more solo lately, and I've actually had a lot of success (this has been essentially at Red Rank). I've actually had really solid teammates most of the time. It hasn't been anywhere the nightmare that it's been made out to be.
-
It's a retired map offering.
ETA: The common and uncommon map offerings were retired in patch 1.8, so it's definitely been gone from the bloodwebs for a long time.

When I play survivor, it's a pleasant surprise when the killer allows us to farm, but I certainly don't expect it, and I don't blame them if they don't. It's the fault of whoever quit on me/us at the start of a game.
When I play killer, I'll almost always give the last survivor the hatch/door, but I won't go into farm mode immediately (unless I'm playing Pig and someone Boops -- but I'll go into farming mode regardless if that happens, DC or not). If the DC is a rage quit, then that doesn't warrant any different treatment (mainly since I don't know who else in the lobby is with them, and I don't want to reward a rage-quitter's teammates).
Essentially, farming with a DC is an option, depending on the circumstances, but it's definitely not a "rule" and should not be expected, but appreciated when it happens.

no idea just something i recall hearing
His chat will joke about his "paid actors" when he's absolutely slaughtering survivors who are making terrible mistakes. It became enough of a running joke that, in a match he uploaded on YouTube, the survivors he beat (who were obviously fans) mentioned in the post-game chat that they needed raises and were part of his paid actors (something to that tune), obviously being tongue-in-cheek and not serious.
-
I wear the Black outfit (but with the regular weapon).
I won't chase a trapped survivor unless I don't have any other options (usually, if I have multiple people with traps on their head). If you try to pull a trap off right in front of me while I'm chasing someone, I will lovetap you or scare you off of the box because .. well, that's simply a good use of my time. Otherwise, you're free to roam and get your trap off if you stay out of my way -- I'll be busy chasing someone else instead of you, because as a Pig, that's how you win. If a Pig is spending the whole match chasing people with active traps, they're throwing the game and doing it wrong.
The ONLY exception I'll make to that is during the EGC. If I've hooked someone, no one is dead, and the gens have flown by and the last gen is popped when someone is on the hook (with what is now an active trap), I often will open the gates myself (which essentially gives the equavalent of a TT/COG situation to the person on the hook). When I'm playing against a SWF group, it usually acts as bait to get the others to come to me and give me a chance to actually get other downs while they try to protect the person they unhook.
Otherside, my point stands -- good pigs use the traps to apply pressure indirectly and keep people off of gens. Bad Pigs tunnel active trap wearers and lose the game inevitably as a result. As someone who considers themselves the former and not the latter, I hate seeing the occasional tunneling Pig. I (and a lot of us) are more likely to meme (with the Booping) than go hardcore in a game.

Doc=delete. He’s a broken killer who is insanely unfun to face. That static blast and the fact 90% of them are toxic is a no go from me.
The only killers in the game could literally be the AI zombies, and I suspect you'd still find a reason to complain they were broken and OP. 🙄

It's not bait. I really honestly believed killers were OP. Since my son plays killer he told me to try out killer myself so I could see why he was always getting angry. So I took his advice. Nothing wrong with me wanting to try and get some perspective from the opposing side. Why do people feel the need to go off on anyone who tries something different.
Ignore that person who replied to you -- they're constantly reguritating the same nonsense about "every killer bad" over and over. They're clearly biased in everything they post, and their credibility is zero as a result, so I wouldn't pay them any attention.
From someone who plays both role about 50/50, I can say that doing so will help you be better at both. Playing killer has helped me become a better survivor and vice-versa. As you already learned, it will also give you persepctive on issues of game balance that people who don't play both won't get.
As others have said, getting practice with the Shred attack for Demo is paramount. With the updates to some of his add-ons (Barb's Glasses and Black Heart, an uncommon and a common respectively), Demo is very good at loops now -- you can shred pallets with very little recovery needed and recover quickly after Shred attacks (basically, a mini Save The Best For Last on his Shred) with those add-ons. As was pointed out, STBFL is a great perk on him (since you can save your stacks by using your Shred on the Obsession). Some slowdown -- whether it be Ruin, Corrupt, or Pop -- is almost a necessity on nearly every killer, Demo no exception.
Demo is not a top-tier killer per say, but he's a LOT of fun to play with. Good luck with him!

Un fortunately u r right
they measure the survivors power by the idea of SWF which is only 10% of survivors community
i play solo all the time and its a very very hard to escape
not to forget to mention thats Otz “with all respect to him an his playstyle and his amazing kind personality”
he is complaining about iron well and unbreakable now
and he forgot stridor and instadown addons and all perks and addons that easily can counter these two perks
he forgot blood trail and scratches like its not enough
i read all comments I respect all of u guys and ur opinions
but u have to see the game from a solo survivor prospective
guys please be reasonable
devs please get normal Ds back again it was barley survive us and nerf noed at least give us an exposed statue effect before anyone get down or make it like corrupt intervention 187sec
I play a lot of survivor, and I've played a LOT of solo survivor lately. I run DS every match. I have no problem with the way it works now, because I didn't abuse it before. Asking for old DS back isn't asking for conditions of the perk to operate to prevent a tunnelling situation -- the current parameters of the perk work the same as they did before if a killer is coming for you immediately after an unhook.
Otzdarva has forgotten more about how to play DBD than most of the people commenting in this thread have learned -- myself included. If he was being paid to balance the game, it would probably be in a better state than it is now, but he's made it clear before that his suggestions, like other Fog Whisperers, are often not listened to. But if the developers actually did pay attention to someone, I would 1000X rather it be him than the vast majority of people who complain constantly here about things that aren't a result of a problem with the game, but with their own skill levels at it.
-
My favorites have been Otzdarva, OhTofu, and Noob3. I watch others, but if I had to narrow it down, those would be my picks.
Otz is arguably the most informative player around, ridicuously good at killler and a very good survivor as well. His videos explaining perks/add-ons/maps etc. are THE best informational guides in the game, and a must-watch for any killer or survivor who wants to play the game.
OhTofu has a great attitude, plays both sides of the game extremely well, and he's also very knowledgeable about the game. I miss his YT uploads. I learned a lot watching him, and he's very entertaining to watch.
Noob3 is incredibly entertaining -- and despite having a whole series of videos enititled "Toxic XXX", he really isn't. When he's playing survivor and absolutely destroying an opponent, you can tell he usually feels for the person he's going up against. He doesn't complain, he has a genuinely good attitude about everything, and he's overall fun to watch play, in either role.

Im rank 4. You talk ranks like it matters. I’ve seen plenty of red rank and purples who are not great. 🤷♂️
According to pretty much every post you make, EVERY game you play is an easy 4K for the killer at 5 gens. Having been on the survivor side of a game or two like that, no one pips in those situations, so you would think you'd know the answer to your own question.
Or you could be exaggerating about how your rounds actually go. Or about your rank. Or both. Who knows.
For people reading this thread who are actually looking for serious insight, as others have said, sitting on gens isn't enough. You need some form of altruism and interaction with the killer in order to pip up at higher ranks, Red Ranks in particular.
-
Myers is a noob-stomper, but he's far more difficult to play at higher ranks, where survivors are actually skilled and know how to play against him. Saying he requires no skill reveals much more about the OP than it does about Myers.
Playing him at higher levels requires knowledge of survivor spawns on maps to find people quickly to get out of Tier 1 (though the new perk from Nemesis may alleviate that). He's a killer that's absolutely going to have to give up gens over the course of a match (he's a killer that often has a match get down to the last gen or two, even one that he's doing well in). Knowing when to pop your Tier 3 and how to get the most out of it -- particularly when to slug in Tier 3 and when to start hooking -- isn't something you can just know immediately when playing him. It takes experience. While his insta-down can be powerful and can snowball to a win in a hurry, Myers is still just a basic M1 killer who can be looped, thwarted with pallets, and rendered ineffective by good survivors who can break line of sight, stall his stalk, and still pound out gens. At Red Ranks as a survivor, I've been part of games where we've destroyed the Myers simply by knowing how best to delay his stalking and the number of Tier 3's they can pop, and I've been part of games where a very skilled Myers player has turned what looked like a win for us into a 4K by outplaing us when it mattered.
While some killers require more skill than others, none of them require no skill to play.
-
Wait a minute -- Clown and Legion are "meta" now? 🤔
As was just said, Nemesis is new and will obviously be played at lot in the beginning. I actually enjoy facing one. I don't even think the Clown mains are playing him since he's currently bugged all to hell.
I almost never see the Twins (who I don't like facing, but that's a "me" thing). Hag is pretty infrequent too. To be honest, over hundreds and hundreds of matches, I honestly don't see a huge difference between the frequency of one killer over another (at Red Rank). I can go several days without seeing a single Nurse or Spirit, then see multiple on one night. It does tend to be very random. I've probably seen more Trappers than anything the last week (probably owing to the Rift challenge, if I had to guess).
What one person considers "unfun" is going to be subjective.

Tunneling itself should be a crime. People on the internet do whatever they want. Turn of your chat if it bothers you so much when someone messages you.
-- A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) is a cyber-attack in which the perpetrator seeks to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users by temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connected to the Internet. In the US, denial-of-service attacks may be considered a FEDERAL CRIME under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act with penalties that include years of imprisonment.
-- Tunneling would be ignoring every other player and everything else going on in a GAME to focus on one player exclusively. Tunneling, in DBD context would be chasing one player to the extreme that it's not only counterproductive but also detrimental to winning the match.
So you're actually making the argument that implies that a FEDERAL CRIME, punishable by prison and large fines is somehow equal to something that is often subjective, actually condoned by the people who made the game as a strategy, and something that the OP has stated multiple times that he didn't actually DO.
Next time you think you've been tunnelled, make sure to contact your local authorities, or better yet, the Department iof Justice. 🙄
Jesus -- If you're actually being serious -- wow. Just wow. 🤦♂️
@Pulsar, sorry that happened. You're far more lenient than I am. Teenager, adult -- whatever. You commit a CRIME against me over some perceived slight in a video game, I'm bring the law down hard on you. DBD is a game: people who drag their anger over it to commit actions with potential real-word consequences -- death threats, harrassment, cyber-attacks, etc. -- deserve to be dealt with in a real-world manner if they can't distinguish between the two.

Funny all the Mets survivor perks are anti tunneling, camping, and slugging. Yet also the most complained about ones. Seems most killers play pretty toxic.
Funny how you continue to make assumptions over and over again. Funny how every post you make puts regular people who play the game as one of the designed roles for fun into a negative light and those posts add nothng, but are completely counter-productive. Funny how you defended toxic survivor behavior in another thread, showing (along with your post history) that you're so biased, your opinions about almost everything can be easily dismissed without merit due to an inability to understand the game needs BOTH roles to have happy players to survive.
Since you completely missed my point to make your post #171 about how "Killers bad, duh" -- the OP's suggestion would HURT survivor players. As some people have already said, this idea wouldn't work. If meta perks -- which I have gone on record before as defending on BOTH sides -- ended up being the "unique" perks, you couldn't run them both, which is why -- as a survivor who runs multiple meta perks like Prove Thyself, Sprint Burst and DS (with an occasional Unbreakable), for example -- I wouldn't want to see that.
If you want to reply to me, go back to the toxicity thread and reply to where I asked you why you're happy defending toxic behavior on one side and condemming it on the other, and how every person who has the -- gasp -- AUDACITY! -- to hit the ready button as killer is just the worst person imaginable. 🙄 Otherwise, please troll somewhere else.

Nothing about being childish here,i paid for a game to have fun. If i dont have fun then i should have the ability to quit, why stay in an unpleasant match when you dont want to?
I paid for the same game as you. I probably have more money invested in it, if I had to guess as well, with all of the DLC's and cosmetics I've bought.
So we load into a survivor match together, you decide to DC because we're facing a Myers, who hypothetically, you just don't like playing against. So in your eyes, your "fun" is supposed to trump my "fun", as you ruin the match for me and your teammates (and possibly the killer as well).
Yep -- no entitlement there. Make sure you let your fellow survivors know beforehand in the lobby who's fun takes priority -- yours, in your mind -- so they can leave you immediately and find actual, unselfish teammates to play with instead. 🤦♂️

At this point the offerings should be used after a match. So people can decide if its worth using BPS or a Cake or something instead of using one and feel like its wasted.
I really wouldn´t mind using BPS after a good match. So everyone can benefit from it.
That would actually be awesome. Tunneled and face-camped me out of the game out the gate? No BPS/Cake for you! Teabagged me at every pallet and flashlight/locker/vault spammed every opportunity to taunt me? No BPS/Cake for you! A really fun, competitive match, no matter whether I "won" or "lost"? BPS and Cakes for everyone!
-
While this sounds good in theory, in practice, it probably wouldn't work, unless the "unique" perks were the niche ones that people rarely run. You couldn't have a strong perk -- like a DS/DH/UB/Sprint Burst/etc. -- be a unique perk, or you'd see nothing but the same survivors being run over and over again to make sure those perks were able to be used.
I think it would be a nice feature to have each survivor be able to utilize ONE of their perks better than other survivors could -- using your example, all Claudettes would have a buff to their healing (themselves and others) compared to other survivors, since that's their "thing". Not sure if mechanics like those could be implemeted in the game at this point without causing the already jumbled mess to melt down entirely, though.

Nobody plays for other people’s fun. If someone doesnt wanna continue the match for any reason,he should be able to quit without time penalties. In other multiplayer games you can quit whenever you want,so i don’t understand why dbd should be an exception.
And ruin it for everyone else? Yeah -- great idea. 🙄
Playing solo survivor yesterday and had two DC's, one was the killer and one a fellow survivor. The killer DC'ed with BPS in the lobby, two people dead, the other survivor alive and injured while I was opening an exit gate, and the killer was approaching. I can only guess that was an example of someone's game crashing, as there was literally no reason to quit at that point in their situation.
On the other hand, the survivor DC was ridiculous, and exactly an example why your thinking on DC penalties couldn't be more wrong. We were playing against a PH who was running Ruin/Undying. The team broke BOTH of the totems, the 2nd going bye-bye just as PH came up to a Claudette and myself on a gen that was almost finished. The PH chased the Claudette, I went back and finished the gen, just as the Claudette went down. All in all, getting all of the killer's slowdown gone AND a gen popped with only one down pretty early in the match put us in a pretty good spot, all things considered. Instead, the Claudette selfishly DC'ed, putting the team in a 3 v. 1. With the game changed dramatically at that point, the PH (who was a very solid player) mopped us up the rest of the game, giving me the hatch as the last one standing because he probably genuinely felt bad for the rest of us getting hosed over by someone who cared only about "their fun".
So yeah -- that person quit for the stupidest of reasons, whatever they likely were (they don't like PH, they were upset they were downed first, etc). If you act like that, eat a penalty -- you deserve it.

Points are removed the longer someone is slugged, camped. Trying to finish the match too fast can all take away points.
You should watch ZubatLEL's (who plays a TON of survivor, so you can't label him as a typical killer main) latest video. He played Myers against a ream that brought in 3 BPS. He popped his first Tier 3, downed someone, and everyone else literally played as badly as you could in that situation and ran at him. He downed everyone, hooked everyone (and rehooked after a kobe), and ended up giving the last survivor hatch. Match lasted barely over three minutes.
So in your "expert" opinion, what should he have done? As he told his chat, everyone just ran towards him while he was in Tier 3 and died, which he correct;y pointed out wasn't his problem. The survivors did exactly what you're not supposed to do in that situation and threw the game as a result -- should he have run to the corner of the map to let everyone recover (undeservedly) solely because of the BPS? Do you really think that the survivors, if they'd instead popped 3 gens before he'd gotten into Tier 3 and gotten a down, would have let their foot off of the gas to benefit their opponent?

BBQ would still be used without the BP bonus. And in my opinion the BP bonus is what should be removed from the perk. I don't think BP gain should be tied to perks.
Only by players who don't have better perks unlocked.
Despite needing constant BP for the grind (since I'm prestiging a ton of survivors at the moment), I pulled BBQ off of killers who it doesn't work with at all if you're actually playing to do well, like Trapper or Hag, since you ideally don't want to leave their "territory" to go on a wild-goose chase across the map for someone who, if they're any good at the game, won't be there by the time you lug yourself over there. Pulled it off of Doctor as well, since he has a form of tracking built-in, and Ghostface, since there's simply better builds without BBQ. If I didn't play Pig so much, I would have yanked it off of her too. Not having it is making the grind worse, but builds to stay competitve at Red Rank can't afford perks that are there mostly for a BP boost, and there are just better options for all of the above if you actually want your game to go well.
Take the BP away from BBQ, and I suspect the killers will be running Thrilling Tremors instead, a FAR better perk for every killer for info. Why would I want to see an aura of someone halfway across the map crouching behind a wall doing nothing, when I can have a perk that literally tells me what generator I need to go and pressure next -- and a perk that works at any distance? I already see TT used by a lot of good killers -- nerf BBQ, and that will probably be the new go-to perk -- which will then be inevitably followed by posts saying it "it gives info for nothing", "OP -- please nerf", and the other usual silliness you see around here (from both sides) about any perk that actually is useful in one way or another.
For the record, I'm in favor of buffing WGLF to make it easier to get stacks, to have the survivor equivalent closer to BBQ (finishing a heal on another survivor or picking them up off of the ground, for example, could give a stack). With the insane grind currently in the game, messing around with one of the only ways to mitigate it would be a short-sided example of poor decision-making (which is why, I guess, with the current state of affairs in the game going on right now, I probably shouldn't be shocked if it WERE done 🙄).

Nah, i´ve seen 5 party streamers during a double bloodpoint event and the survivors gen rushed to escape with 11k to 14k basepoints.
Or even better yet, as the killer, you throw in BPS or a Cake and the same thing happens.
Trying to prestige survivors before the Anniversary Event, I played a killer round recently and made the mistake of offering up a Gauteau Cake I had left over from last year's event. My "reward" was 5 gens done in about 6 minutes, with three Commodius Toolboxes with BNP's and a map offering as my reward from a 4-person SWF. Best yet, there were teabags galore and macro-clicking of flashlights in the exit for further taunting. It reminds me of why I stopped bringing BPS or Cakes anymore when I play killer -- they always seems to bring out the worst in your opponents, no matter what side you're on.
I did have a match not that long ago as Pig where I brought BPS and 3 of the 4 survivors did as well -- everyone approached to Boop, and we all racked up monster totals in a huge farrmfest -- but that's the rare exception. To act like BP are an issue from just the killer side is, as usual, part of certain people's song-and-dance that's beyond tiresome at this point.
Already I know people I SWF with who play killer only to try and farm BP for their survivors and/or to do Dailies. Start messing with that balance, and you'll end up wirh even fewer people wanting to go through the trouble of playing killer and longer wait times for matches.
-
I have never used Snares whenever I've played Freddy -- it's always been Dream Pallets. There's just a lot more fun to use, IMO. Nothing quite like the laugh one gets when an already injured survivor teabags you --- while camping a pallet that isn't real. 🤣
-
I just want to add in another voice of support for the people dealing with this. Looking at some of these gameplay clips is painful. When your game doesn't even function as it should on a basic level for so many people who've invested time, effort, and money into it, it's a black eye for the entire company and unacceptable.

Survivors being toxic isn’t game breaking where as with killer, they can take an entire game hostage if they’re in a bad mood. Survivors play to have fun. Killers play to get a 4K. It will never be fully balanced as the grind is so much different between killer and survivor. It’s refreshing to see a good survivor or survivor team.
So toxic behavior is acceptable, as long as it's being done by "your side". And all survivors are only out to "have fun" and anyone playing killer couldn't possibly be trying to do the same, correct?
From someone who plays both elements of the game about equally (probably a little more survivor at this point), the bias and the hypocrisy of that type of viewpoint is sad. Here's hoping that new players who might be coming over from Resident Evit to try out DBD aren't contaminated by this type of mindset.
-
Nerfing killer perks won't make bad survivors play better. Just like nerfing survivor perks won't make bad killer play better either.
The constant calls for nerfs to perks on both sides gets almost embarrassing sometimes, and it illustrates the people who never play the other "side", or who are out-and-out trolling, or both.
The only perk run by killers that's annoying when I face it is NOED. I just escaped a Pig who was running NOED and she got multiple kills (at least one of the survivors on their first hook) as a result (I wasn't one of them). Of course, they also had Ruin (that was destroyed almost immediately, probably because it spawned right next to a generator or in the wide-open) and, even playing as a solo, my teammates and I pounded out all 5 gens in barely 6 minutes -- so maybe if any of us had stopped to do a totem or two (the Pig got a couple of hooks prior to the last gen, but no one was in danger of dying) we could have avoided it.

Just go on YouTube. It’s 4K games every time. Or look up the stats on kill rates, which are crazy high. In fact I’d ask you to find me a video of a streamer not getting an easy 4K 90% of the time. I’ll wait.
Or you could just go on YouTube and watch Ayrun, Ussylis, Noob3, or ZubatEl (when he's playing survivor) -- just to name a few. Watch them run killers silly, playing meme perks to challenge themselves, or escaping at will, and only dying either because they get sandbagged by their teammates, or they purposely play in a way that's unnecessarily risky -- again, because they're so good at survivor that playing "normal" is easy mode for them.
Using top-tier killer players who literally play the game for a living to make assumptions about game balance is ridiculous -- they're an outlier, just like the survivor players I referenced. They don't represent the vast, vast majority of the players by any measure, and making assumptions about game balance based on that highest-level play is pointless.

Survivors are weak.
I've enjoyed survivor play more than ever lately, either solo or with SWF. Your "morale" might be low, but mine isn't. The only thing that's been morale-busting for me is the latest batch of bugs/issues with the game, but that affects all players.
-
Spine Chill is perfectly fine. I play the stealth killers all the time, and it's an annoyance, but it nowhere near overpowered.
People really need to stop asking for every single viable perk, on both the Killer and Survivor side, to be nerfed. It's beyond ridiculous the complaining that goes on. Perks are SUPPOSED to be -- actually useful, duh. 🤔
-
It almost feels like a beginner's perk, for new players who don't know the ins and outs of where survivors tend to spawn on the map relative to you. People with a lot of hours in the game know already where they're mostly likely to find someone and will head there instinctively (or they'll be running Whispers).
The survivor perk from this chapter that's comparable is Rookie Spirit, which won't really be help to experienced survivors (I ran it getting Adept Leon -- it's worthless early game, and late game, unless you're clueless, you'll already know what gens are regressing -- if it showed how much progress was on each gen, like a variation on the Wraith's ultra-rare add-on, it might be useful).
Lethal Pursuer MIGHT be niche, on a Nurse on a small map, or a Myers who wants to start stalking ASAP, but the majority of the killer roster, it seems like a waste that will lead you to playing with 3 perks for nothing. I've run it on Nemesis (because I have nothing else to really run) and only saw survivors where I pretty much guessed they were already, but I can't see it doing anything but infuriating me by highlighting whoever spawned right on top of my hex totem, lol.
OP? Hardly.
