I think killer needs to be removed from the game since he is nothing but a distract to the survivors. Survivors will just lose their important times for gens while looping the killer. For true balance there should be no killer.
-
Well it seems unique but 4 different choice can be a little bit much. Some ideas of yours are need to be increased-decreased but other than that it kinda make sense cause history of The Legion is the 4 teenagers that are grouped together. I myself actually like the Feral Frenzy because it can show where the survivors are and can be nice for catch the escaping ones but yeah there can be rework. Your idea is a new overhaul legion which is quite hard but mayve devs can implement some updated power.

Same, as ranks really don't mean anything as they are
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TTK2I272WTRO/capture-png.png
No news on when it'll actually go live, but another thing they are doing is making it so each Killer's internal rank is seperate as well. So say you play a ton of Trapper and get really good, you'll be getting higher ranked games, but then you want to try out Nurse. You've never played Nurse so you'll get lower ranked games. That's the part I'm really excited for
If this news are true that would be amazing.
-
Not many people wanted to risk themself unless you are in SWF or you made the group. In many matches as survivor I saw many people left me just so that they can escape ( I was hanged once only and I saved them,looped killer like 2-3 gens). I mean it is sad to play againts this kinds of people and funny thing is they are at high ranks. I am rank 6 survivor and I am mostly playing with red-purple ones and they are the one that do it more than the lower ranks. They got more greedy,more gen rushing and less forgiving. If you are hanged you dead thx for the time they said and they just escape. I know it is stupid but that is what happens.
-
SWF is not a huge problem. People can play with their friends and that's fine. The comms are the one that gives the upper hand. Imagine you are playing Ghostface againts Solo survivors and SWF survivors with comms. At Solo you should only hide againts 1-2 survivor for stalking them but when it comes to SWF with comms they told where you going and there is no point of your power. Comms are the problem that is broke some aspect of the game not the SWF. Some groups not use comms to gain advantage but for fun which is fine but the ones that organize themself like SWAT teams and use all 3rd party software to their advantages is the thing that bores people.
-
Spirit and Freedy are valid options. Freedy has some sick add-ons where you really can slow the game down for survivors and he has great lunge attacks. Spirit is one of the hardest killer to counter and many survivor have hard times againts spirit and she has unique style. Wraith after the update can be good but I am not sure and Myers can be bullied easily.
-
He probably stalked %99 or used some add-ons which let's him stalk even faster. If you have hardtime againts Ghostface my advice is just some videos about how to counter GhostFace and use Spine Chill perk from survivors. Spine Chill will tell you if he is close to you or not which is quite a counter againts him and overall is a really nice perk and can be used for all builds.

you know poised is a thing right?
quick and quiet + dance with me?
fixated?
Yeah I know they re a thing. Still I wish I was recorded that match. It is hard to tell now the others if it is hack or pure luck or maybe server latency and etc...
-
@Alice_pbg said:
would really help your case if you had video of it
Sadly I dont record my matches. I am a rank 6 killer and survivor I know the thrill of the game. There are really good survivors I know them and the team were good that I was faced. Especially the last Tinkerer scenario was made me dced the game after I saw no one at the area. I checked the closest lockers,areas,hide places and etc... Any place that they can escape during 2-3 secs and there was nobody.
-
Trickster is a little bit different. For the console players that cant aim well with console it is gonna be a blessing. Other than that about twins you are right sadly.I dont remember a match where I faced with twins and I really want to kick the Victor.
For the Trickster, I think that he will be played but when there is Huntress,Pyramid Head and Deathslinger I am not that sure is he gonna be that popular as killer mains. Because at high ranks mobility and finish the chases as soon as possible with downs are important and Trickster power requires 8-9 knife for one health level which is a little bit much.
-
Some people are being afk for lowering their ranks which is quite common but sometimes after many wins at rows, some breaks and etc... some people turned afk or being friendly in the game. But being an AFK seems like people are try to lower their ranks.
-
As a survivor I quite like to Second Wind. It saves me at many situation where killer was tunneled me and then 20 secs pass and bam... I am at full health. I know not many people use it but I kinda like that perk.
For the Killer it is probably gonna be BBQ or Sloopy Butcher. BBQ for extra BP and found the survivor and Sloopy for slow healing time for the survs.
-
@PizzadePijama said:
Did anyone notice that the killers are slower? Survivors get a ridiculous amount of distance just running in a straight line.
It is because of the internet. It sometimes happens to me in some matches I feel like I am slower than normal then I understand there was a ping at the survivor that I am chasing. Probably it is because of the ping.
-
Yes it is still happening. Not as much as the last times but there is still that problem.
-
SWF is not a problem. SWF that uses all kinds of comms are problem. I mean you can talk with your friends like normal but DBD's strentgh came from the not knowing where the killer is most of the time. SWF with comms can do stupid things and there is nothing you can do againts that. Other than that swf that just use comms for fun or basic stuffs are fine.
The most dangerous SW groups are the ones that get the key,choosed the map and even choose the hatch spawn location ( That all happened to me quite a lot). All they have to do is do 2-3 gens and then use the key to escape together if the situation is gonna be sticky for them. I think there needs to be some kind of nerf for that. They choose map,they choose hatch and they bring key and then planning their escape like that is quite a problem.
-
You can post it and if you have evidence it will be more efficent however even the gameplay will not prove their exact motive. They can reject all the accusations and said that you were unlucky or killer was tunneling you and etc... I mean it is better if you post it so that the BHVR will decide it but I doubt that they will face any problem because of that.
-
There will be killer who will blame others. As both surv and killer main however I can say that gen rush is a thing but in your scenario from my point there is no gen rush. As a killer when I see 2-4 toolboxes I will know that it is gonna be gen rush. Other than that it is a strategy like camping,tunneling and slugging but even more innocent than this methods. Play the game as you like and most of the time just say "GG WP or GG" and pass the chat. Most of the people at the chats are not happy to lose and they will be salty to other side.
-
This is a bad idea for some reasons. If the killer will choose his dull totem placement and the survivor needs to destroy em so that he can put his perk, whenever the surv use his powerful perk that requires to destroy dull totem, the killer will just patrol the totems cause he know where they are and he can find it quite easily. Moreover there are some killer perks which lets to see if survivor are near to totem or try to destroy it. This perks are sometimes ignored by killer because of some reasons but in a game system where survivor earn their power by cleansing the killer will punish those that will try to do it. Overall the idea in unique but it has its flaws :/
-
Sometimes a really strange builds and perks works well with each other and it's good to see some newly approach builds for both survivor and killer. It encourage people to play with new gamestyles and make them use new tactics which sometimes makes the game more unpredictable for both of the sides.
-
@TicTac said:
That would look stupid in my opinion. But i want more communication options. I would prefer a simple ping system.
- the killer is near
- repair this gen
- heal me
- etc
You can do most of them with the current emotes which we did all the time. If you want someone to repair gen just point them the gen. If you want a heal come to the person and repeat crouching,killer is near is quite easy most of the time I just start to run towards them with vault and they will know the killer is nearby. I think that the general emotes are good for now but new is better so I am open to new ideas but they must be useful emotes not like dances,winks and etc...
-
Dont underestimate the Legion. While he seems weak he is one of the most mobile killer in the game and here's why:
1-He can find all the survivors with his power. Even someone that will hide in locker can be found by legion's power.Also while you have the power you can open lockers and etc...
2-He can travel the map and patrol gens fast with his power. Not to mention you can skip the survivor then bodyblock them so that they will not use windows,pallets and etc... I did that a lot and most of the time I will get the injured survivor quite fast.
3-He can stop loops and force survivor to drop some pallets. Because of your power you can still injure the survivors even though they will drop the pallet or vault windows. After they got hit most of the survivors will leave the looping area which then you can destroy that place.
4-His power can punish survivor even more with the right perks like Thanatophia. Even with the green add-on you can keep them broken for 60 seconds.Moreover as I mentioned at number 2 imagine the situation where you are at shack(one of the most used place for loops), you hit the survivor with power than use bamboozle to close to window.After that with sprint power of yours you bodyblock survivor againts the pallet. It will be a free down.
Overall he seems a weak killer at first. Some groups can easily bully him but underestimate him as a killer is dangerous. He needs a good practice and at the right hand he can be devastating. Use bodyblock method more with his power and you will see what I meant.
-
My advice is find some survivors from your games. I try to do that but sadly I play killer mostly due to waiting times. I can play at nights and at night times waiting time for the survivors are long so I pass the killer. I am rank 8 survivor not the greatest one but I enjoy playing with a team. If you want to you can add me from Steam and sometimes we can play together.

Oh I understand staying injured to save time and I often play like that. That’s why I always use Iron Will. But in some matches I feel like I have to be healed because nobody is going for the unhook in the basement etc and I would rather be able to take a hit after getting the unhook than going straight down. I just don’t get why they want me to heal them but don’t return the favour? They sit at the hook waiting for me to heal them and then run off.
I’m good at being stealthy and looping so I don’t mind being injured, but like I said, there are games where it’s beneficial to be healed. I had an Oni match and I kept healing people but nobody would heal me. A huge counter to Oni is not bleeding everywhere. 😂
My answer is welcome to the DBD. Sadly solo queques are not that organized and many survivors are really random and self centered. I mostly play solo survivor when I can and I can say that it is quite self centered. It will mostly cost the match unless they re really good. I understand your pain.
-
Ghostface is strong and one of my favourite killer in the game. His power is all about getting used to stalk. He can stalk people up to 40 meters which is awesome and that is the distance you should use. Most of the time just %99 stalk the survivors and then get close and stalk so that you can hit them one shot. And stalking by using corner will be more efficent and it increases the stalk meter more than normal stalk so use that.
For the perks Ghostface is strong when he knows where the survivors are so I suggest you the BBQ,Nurse's Calling,Whispers and Sloopy for damage. Sometimes you can mix them with Discordance,That and etc... You can mix Corrupt Purge to so that you will know where the survivor will go. I found his perk I am all Ears quite useful not for only GhostFace but for most of the killer so also it is quite a good perk.
My advice is play with him. Sometimes the map can be suck to play him but once you get used to it you will love him. He has a really unique style.
-
I feel you. But here's the thing... Most of the high ranks are capable of looping,escaping and etc... so because of that reason they do not want to spent their time for healing. They wanted to rush gens so that they can escape. Most of the survivors that I play againts are usually stay injured, rush the gens and then by the use of Adrenaline perk get the full health and escape. I think that is why not many survivor wanted to heal others at high ranks and they just do gens. Other than that in solo survivors they re mostly selfish sadly :/ . I remember a match where I was rank 8-9 survivor and other survivors were like rank 1-4. I got hanged and it was my first hook but none of them saved me cause they wanted to escape fast and safe, so they leave me at the game even though I took protection hits for them, save them from hooks and distract the killer while they doin gens.
-
Best method I think is that spread as a group and do chain tinkerer. 3-4 person did gens at %70 in a nearly identical time will decrease the pressure of the killer and it makes him panic. He will try to attack all of the gens. Other than that best idea is when you get %70 percent just hide a little and wait to see if the killer will be coming or not. If he is not either he is busy or there is no tinkerer. Moreover perks like spine chill can be useful in that scenario and I found spring burst perk quite useful when killer canme insantly and I need to open a distance between us.
-
While the system is good I do not think the BHVR will do it. They are selling the auric cells for only cash which is one of the main resource of the game. Other than that iridescent can be an option since you can earn it by playing.
-
As both killer and survivor main that will be horrible to get a killer perk like that. Hatch is the only chance to survive for the lonely survivor cause when it is endgame time we knew that %99 of time killer won the game because it is easy to patrol 2 gates for only 1 survivor. However I agree that find the hatch minigame is not a satisfying one. There should be another mechanic for the 1 vs 1 situation.
-
Nowadays it is Twins cause of Victor. I mean imagine a slimy litte creature that came out of her sister's chest start to chase you and each time he decided to jump he made that stupid noise. Not to mention you were chasing by a baby which is hilarious and I kinda feel pity to myself I mean in real life if a creature like that chases me I would have hit that with a shovel or bat. That is why he annoys me.
Other than that I hate to play againts Nurse cause most of the time I was the one that took the chaser role and it is NURSE.
-
I dont use both of the perk but I can say that Surge can be more useful than Ruin. Many survivor have found your ruin quite fast and sometimes ruin does not work at all cause they rush the gens so fast which makes the ruin useless. However with surge not only you create pressure but for each downed surv you regress the gens.
-
As both killer and survivor I can understand that. I got like rank 7-8 for both surv and killer. When I play survivor gens pop to fast and we can stall the killer most of the time. When I play killer it is usually the same. I think there needs to be another new mechanic other than repairing generators such as find a generator part for X gen... and maybe people will hate me for saying this but some of the toolboxes addons needs to be nerfed.
However there are matches where I get the absolute fun. I think it is about your luck and sometimes it is better to play the game with breaks. If you played so many matches in a row that will start to bore and you might give a short break. Other than that try to play new builds,survs,killers and etc... I know it is not an absolute solution but still better than nothing. I hope they will add some new mechanics to the core game where it will be more fun for both killer and survivor.

The Hatchet Has two Hitboxes, Ones the damage box that hurts the survivor, the other is the Collision Hitbox that breaks the hatchet when it hits something. They Are Separate.
Well then they need to improve the Collision Hitbox cause it is not great at the Autohaven Map. It was happened before and I thought that they fixed it after the new map design but it didnt :/
-
I play the both side and I can say that I prefer matches that I will face the killer. If the killer does not wanna face I will respect his choice and finish the match as soon as possible. Normally everybody should play their roles but nowadays there are many killers who are not playing and overall it's even hard to find killers which I understand the reason. Overall if the killer doesnt wanna play I feel like I earn a free win which I do not wanted to actually. But I understand and respect.

@Mugombo said:
Yo do realise that this happens because the hit box is too big, if they reduce the hit box to stop this happening it will make it much harder to hit shots in general
I do not know the general of all but I just see the thing that normally a hatch was supposed to pass that car. It did not which is a problem. I just want it to be normal nothing more nothing less.

I think these were recently re-worked end of last year, so I doubt they'll be in the developers sights for a while.
It preceded my time playing this game, but I also heard that they used to be better for Huntress pre-rework too :(
I really dont understand the devs sometimes. There are many problems that needs to be improved. I mean DBD is a really good game and it can be even better but things process really slow. They even just updated the Wraith which increased his speed. I hope they will fix them soon. I play both the killer and survivor and I can say that killer is really disadvantage at the matches.
-
I dont know about others but I know that Leatherface only attacks and kills because he is scared and worried that he will ashame his parents. For the Leatherface they are intruders that can harm him or his loved ones which is sad but what you expect from a cannibal family that just eat people.

@AlxPilk95 said:
If we want people to stick around (and to punish those who abuse broken killer), we should allow survivors to each pick (or maybe even just vote on) one killer that can’t be played that trial.
I can’t play against ghost face and would love to never see that busted overpowered thing again.
Many killer are not overpowered. Ghostface is one of the easiest to dodge which you use Spine Chill and it's done. Banning a killer would be a huge problem cause most of the players will be ban either Nurse or Spirit at the %95 of the matches. I dont know your gameplay time or rank but I can say that GhostFace is not the scariest OP killer of the game.
Also you said that "punish those who abuse broken killer". I mean what kind of abuse did you see? As both survivor and killer main I can say that most of the time survivors are the one that abuse their resources and they must be due to survive.
-
@AlxPilk95 said:
Rank 14. I guess I’m a relatively new player, but in my experience as a new player the killer role is way too broken. Game results in balanced mobas should equate to as close to 50% as possible
Just get some more rank. I play both roles too. I am a rank 9 killer and survivor so in my matches I can face with purple and red ranks. Most of the time survivor took the game. First few ranks killer seems op but as you progress lot you will see the difference.
-
At most of the build 5th perks are not that useful. Most of the both the killer and the survivor perks are quite useless. So 5th perk slot is not that necessary.
-
@kierstynmp said:
Idk if anybody has felt this way. But to put it plainly, some killers are way overpowered lately. Especially the ones who are so suited and already naturally overpowered in conjunction with camping and tunneling. The last few days have been absolutely ridiculous. Anyone have any thoughts?
Camping and tunneling makes any killer dangerous because most of the high ranks try to save their teammates and killer can set traps and ambushes easily. Other than that I can say that killer has more pressure then survivor. Even with 1 good survivor on the avg team, it is mostly that someone will escape.
There are some powerful killers like Nurse,Spirit and they re powerful cause they can stop loops. However a good survivor that knows them wont be rely on loops.
As both survivor and killer player I can say that killer has more pressure and it is more unforgiving than survivor play. As a survivor even if you are bad you can rely on your teammates and 3 good teammates can still carry the match. As a killer you are alone and one mistake that you did can cause you to lose 1-2 gens and even the whole game. Each completed gens will decrease the pressure of the killer.

If you make matches longer, there were no reason not to camper the first hook.
Read my topic at forum. Actually general of my idea is not making the game longer. Just making first 2 gens to pop harder and the last gen will pop easier. Normally a gen without any fail,no toolboxes and perks and without the great skill checks took 80 seconds. So for 5 gens it is 400 sec in general. What if we made a system like this;
5 gen = 100 sec
4 gen = 90 sen
3 gen = 80 sec
2 gen = 70 sec
1 gen = 60 sec
At the start of the match killer have bigger area to patrol so he needs more time and survivors are new to gen repair. So the first gens will be taken longer. As the patrolling area decreased the gen time will be decreased and survivor can finish gens faster. If you sum all the numbers that I wrote it is still 400 secs.
-
Well I found Second Wind quite useful for tunnelers. If you heal a survivor for full health state the next time you are unhooked or unhook yourself this perk will be activated. And in it's max upgrade after 20 seconds it will heal you which is nice. Not many people use BT in some ranks and this perk saved me many times when the killer chased me. You just have to dodge him 20 seconds which is quite possible in many cases with the use of DH.
-
@Lord_Tony said:
because survivors keep crying about perks that slow gen progression
Forcing them to get nerfed
resulting in more killers giving up because of gen rushing and just camping instead because camping actually works when the survivors are altruistic you can get an easy 4k that way
Why should we bother if 5 gens can get done in under 5 minutes?
As both survivor and killer mains I agree with that idea. Gens are fast and a good organized team with toolboxes can finish them quite easily.
I had a game where 4 gens finished under 2 and half min due to all toolboxes and it's add-ons. As a killer sometimes tunneling and camping became a strategy when that happens. The main problem is only goal of survivors are doing gens and only goal of the killer is to kill.
There should be an extra mission such as find X part for the generator so that the game can be longer. I even write a new idea for modifying the gen speeds where first 1-2 gens should be longer but the last gen shold be finish easier.

Dead by Daylight is addicting. That's the one thing that I want to get out of the way before I go on a depressing tangent about how this game messes me up. Dead by Daylight has some of the most fun and addicting experiences I have had from any online multiplayer game ever. It's fun and addicting, which for the most part is the reason this game makes me so upset.
This game has on several occasions taken me into days-long depressive episodes just because of the fact there are a few bad eggs ruining the experience when I'm looking for a chill, semi-competitive game. Maybe that's just me being mentally weak, but hey, I thought I'd just spill my feelings here. The general Dead by Daylight experience makes me sad at the fact that people take this game so seriously.
I'm a mid-ranked killer main on console and so I don't expect to go far playing killers generally, so I'm happy in my placement in this game. Though the rank system doesn't seem to agree with me. I always get red-rank Nea's and Feng's and they're always so good. I'm not mad at them for being better at the game than me, kudos to them for getting to that level of skill that they can hold their own against any type of killer. I'm mad that even when they see I'm not competent or good at the game, they continue to use that to their advantage.
I'm mad at myself for being so bad at this game. I go in hoping to better myself, but I continue to just get outplayed and outmaneuvered over and over again.
When it comes down to the end of the game, they're sometimes just spamming rude messages in my inbox or just continue to use phrases like; "GGEZ", "Baby killer". And it just makes me upset that I'm not a good enough match for them competitively. And even when they're saying genuinely nice things I can't shake off the feeling that they're being condescending and just making fun of me for not being good, and at the end of the day, I just get super depressed. Where I just want to sit down and cry for hours over random internet strangers that are better at a videogame than me. And that's why I don't. Because it's stupid to be mad over something like that. But I can't stop being so sad.
I am so upset over something that shouldn't impact my life at all. I'm not mad at them, I'm not angry at them. I'm sad because I will never be good enough to give people a good, competitive game. I'm sorry for rambling about this. After spending 30 minutes on this I realised how stupid I sound. I'm sorry.
TLDR; I'm bad at the game and that gives me the excuse to winge about it online when no-one will ever read this.
I feel you. I sometimes play with that kind of people that likes to insult others. I am between avg-good killer and survivor and I can say that we all can make mistakes in game and lose it. But the thing is from what I understand this game makes a great impact on you which is not good. I am not a pyschologist but if a game starts to affect you really bad, it's time to give some break. There are many other games that you can play for change and change is good sometimes. I was also quiet pissed to online games sometimes and what I do in most situation is go back to single player games or just do something else other than game.
My advice: People are rude both in games and in real life so get used to it. They will hurt you and they will harm you and trust me they will enjoy doing it. The problem is by taking this people serious you will only hurt yourself. Dont do that to yourself.
For the game part a good break or decreasing playing times can be good. Play less matches and give some small breaks between matches. Even a 5 min calming break can make you feel better. If it is not working give a big break to the game. I gave break to DBD like 3-4 months because of same toxicity and when I came back to game I enjoyed even more than before.
Dont let people,games and events drag you down and keep yourself happy.

He is def not thrash. With his add-ons and with some perks like "I am all ears" he can devastate. His power nerfed the DS since anyone that is tormented by his power can sent to the cages so he does not have to pick the survivors. He can finish some loops quite easily with his power
However he is not imposibble to dodge and you get used to it. He is a strong killer that needs to be careful but there are more stronger killers.
-
Probably they will fix it. Since it is in test part this kind of things are normal.

I don't even pay attention to these comments anymore. Remember when Deathslinger was "worse Huntress" and that he should be 115%? Or when Pyramid Head was the weakest killer in the game? Or that Blight's power was only useful for mobility?
His knifes are pretty neat on some loops. When people start getting better with the aiming I'm sure he has potential to at least be B tier.
Well I am not sure about that. I mean Deathslinger has unique in its on way and I was suprised people make that comment to be honest. But time will show it is still in test process. But to be honest Trickster can be good at open places where survivor cant be dodge his knives. Time will show but for the other killer's comment I mean they got really neat skills I was suprised people commented that way. I hope I am wrong about the Trickster and he will be a killer that we will play.
-
-Adam for Deliverance can be quiet useful since you can unhook yourself safely.
-Steve's perks are not that great but I use Second Wind sometimes and that can be life saver especially for tunneling and with the new DS it will be better option.
-Lithe can be good from Feng Ming if you use the windows and pallets for the fast escapes.
-For the People from Zarina can be useful in dire situation if you need to heal someone fast.
-I saw some people use Build To Last perk from Felix to use their toolboxes more.
-
He is not garbage but when there is a Huntress I dont see a reason what makes him special. I mean yes it is different and with Trickster you can sent many knives to the survivor but it needs at least 8-9 knives for one health level. During that time an average Huntress can hit the survivor with his hatch.
