  • no mither? if you really just hate being bored, thats how you stop it

  • playing only meta killers kinda ######### up your matchmaking, so youd have to back off for a bit to not get survivors that mush you into a paste

also, you just gotta get used to playing them, for me, it takes a phat minute to get the rhythm down, but if you're swappy between killers generally then im out of advice

  • There have been a lot of issues with the brightness levels on some maps, making certain areas (mostly indoors) absolutely invisible to some players, and bright for others, and BHVRs response has essentially been to just whale the brightness slider all the way up and turn the basement into the surface of the sun

  • Staring into flashlights with the born in light perk or whatever, not moving, just as a pure show of intimidation and watching them run when they realize theyre powerless is jUST tOO gOOD

  • Valid; rad ideas. i wasn't around before these said changes were implemented, and i would super love to see this concept being pushed hard.

  • i think dead hard is aaight, and thats kinda what i assume they intended in the whole 'meta shakeup' thing. with the point youre going for, i think honestly it wouldnt be much different to ask for a new perk that does the same kind of thing as dead hard, but a little different.

Yeah thank you for explaining that point I absolutely agree with. It still doesn't make it remotely equivalent to having your perks scrambled.

They're saying "hey there's one incredibly frustrating thing in the game, why not add this other incredibly frustrating thing?" It's nonsense.

you're being weird and difficult. stop

  • Eh, its one game, and y'know all anyone can really give you is a 'thats rough buddy'. sometime a squad has irl stuff that comes up and has to leave for totally unrelated reasons, and thats how it is.

  • eh, maybe. i take it as a compliment that im good enough at the game that it has to match me with people that wont get absolutely decked when we play lol

  • This would be exceptionally hard to do, but it does sound really fun for a different type of gamemode, like everyone is given random perks and bonuses at the beginning of the game and have to deal with managing all the new stuff for every game, sounds fun and goofy

  • Tough love; this is a newbie struggle, and you'll get more and more used to it over time

  • Valid; but i dont think its as big a deal as you might feel it is. People that DC are gonna DC, penalty or not. Whether they get the penalty likely wouldn't really dissuage them from dcing, i know it wouldn't for me. Although i do think that hook self-rescue being removed would be good opportunity for a lot of interesting gameplay changes

  • Sometimes people are just toxic, and you gotta learn to let it go. people are just like that, all the time, and thats kinda the way its gonna be forever. stay strong, gamer

My apologizes since I had no seen the other reply you made to another person (however I do think you should edit the original post to clear up any misinformation from it, since some people in the community are prone to taking misinformation and using it constantly, not specifying who though as to not start a fight).

I mean even in normal matches, I rarely see OTR. It helps with tunneling, but if you are being tunneled, you are still going to go down regardless, and probably not escape anyways, they want you dead and an extra hit in most cases isnt going to stop that. And with DS being gutted, you are basically forced to use OTR if you dont want to be hard tunneled out of the match.

If anything, I feel like Dead Hard is better in the sense that it acts like an extra hit like OTR but can be used at anytime you really need it. Which when you look at DH from that mindset, it makes sense as to why it is more used than OTR by a huge margin. I mean DH went from 50% usage rate (pre- 6.1.0 Patch) to 30% usage rate (now), still remaining one of the most used perks in the game for a reason (being that it still remains a multi-purpose perk).

Its cool, im mostly just salty from not having anyone even mention my proposals which is most of it, so whatever

I guess calling it the meta isnt really fair, but since the time before DH was taken down a notch, ive always noticed OTR in the elite gamer squads, its always has the greatest value for what it is, and is one of the best perks, if it isnt actually the most popular. At this point id guess that i see it about as much as i do dead hard, if not a little more, but thats just my experience.

I totally get anti-tunneling stuff, but as a killer main that avoids tunneling as much as i can, its just not a struggle i really have to endure ever

  • "these are not my original ideas but i agree with them" h m ok

    • Fair, but having limitations on how much the trapper can full loadout on a 3gen is important
    • Not true, blocking off escape routes is almost as good as actually trapping a survivor, limiting a survivors movement is just a good a use as catching them by surprise. Good sentiment, i get it
    • Deep wound is fair, but gotta keep the newbies in mind, unrelenting punishment for a basekit killer whose counter is expert perception and experience is a liiiiitle hmm especially for greenies.

Trapper is hard to get a handle on, but if youre clever, he's definitely on par with other killers, ESPECIALLY once you get used to and can memorize all the maps. He's extremely unique in being able to injure survivors without actually having to directly interact with him, and if BHVR tried their hand in making more killers with that ability i would be super SUPER excited about it.

You clearly dont know how this perk works (you made several wrong assumptions that could easily be corrected with a simple Google search), so allow me to explain it:

    • When a survivor is unhooked, Off The Record activates. The Endurance status is applied immediately from the unhook and applies separately from the perk itself.
    • If you get hit with any form of Endurance while Off The Record is active, you will be put into Deep Wounds and lose the Endurance status. Mending with Off The Record active does not reapply the Endurance effect. This means if you literally hit a Survivor that was just unhooked (with basekit BT) they will lose the Off The Record Endurance until they are hooked again.
    • Off The Record's Endurance is removed upon doing any action that progresses the game (so it literally only stops tunneling), so no it does not "let you complete the objectives unhindered".
    • Off The Record does not work at all during Endgame, if you already have the Endurance from Off The Record and the final generator is completed, you lose it (this was originally intended with the perk but it was bugged for some time).
    • BT is not entirely useless with Off The Record since BT still applies the extended Haste duration from the unhook (since BT, ya know, has two effects now).
    • Aura Reading is meant to have it's counters, and if you get countered by Off The Record, that is your fault for putting too many eggs in a single basket. Dont get me wrong, I love full on Aura Reading builds, but I dont get mad when they get countered by other perks because I already know the risks associated with Aura Reading builds.

thanks for insulting my intelligence dont do it again thanks :D

    • fair, chill out, i got it
    • I said i got it chill
    • fair
    • thats great but irrelevant
    • fair
    • i guess this is fair but i also addressed this

The only reason i made this big thing is because the 4 man swf ALL had this perk, and it was the only perk they all had in common, and they were the elite sweaty gamer type. Also, /CONSTRUCTIVE/ criticism would be great, like how nearly my entire post was about suggestions and not how i hate everything.

    1. This would probably more often get in the way of where killer can walk, and what they have to avoid, more than being effective in trapping survivors.
    2. This would be really powerful, depending on the setup, but also it would be /Really Hard/ to implement. Also, thats super dependent on how experienced a given team has dealing with the trapper, the meta for trap placement changes a Lot
    3. V A L I D (however think of the baby survivors, we gotta give them a chance)
    4. I like RNG and having options; counter suggestion: Ability to either disarm trap or rip it out of the ground and leave it on your leg, making you Broken and/or Incapacitated until you get help from a survivor, or having a Deep Wound kind of thing [out in 2 checks depending on how long it takes is super not a lot, understanding the mechanic of being able to pick up survivors directly from a bear trap is important to its intended purpose]

    1. dont have experience with nemesis or plague, but the rest should be the default...? unless i dont understand what you mean?
    2. Fair, but still
    3. Super simple environment camo would be nice so they dont stick out on eyrie of crows or snow place would be super nice, but again keep the newbies in mind <3
    4. punishing a survivor for general carelessness is important, a survivor being allowed to be careless just because their friends are dead isnt super fair, and is also an incentive to get your friends killed which isnt super ideal.

    love it :D

OOH idea: a change to the traps where theyre more blended with the environment, harder to generally identify, but give them a wholistic redesign to make them like 50% bigger and TERRIFYING that way everything sort of works out

all the oldest killers need a bit of work imo

except billy hes perfect in every way exactly as he is

  • Kind of give and take given the game, The more communication you give to players to let them play a game nicely, the less of a "Horror experience" it feels like for everybody. Its hard to get right.

  • Valid. Should be able to hide it optionally, let the people who wanna show off show off, let the people who wanna feign greenie-ness feign it, let people who wanna stay anonymous be that way.

  • if you remember how Raccoon City was when it started, and the amount of time it took for devs to change it so it wasnt the Unanimous Least Favorite Map, i appreciate them sticking with something easy to manage and maneuver for the next little minute

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

OTR is one of maybe three anti tunneling perks, arguably the one that's most effective, and you want killers to be able to deactivate it completely..... by hitting them off hook?

In that scenario, if the survivor is left alone, the perk would do nothing because they weren't tunneled. And if they are tunneled, the perk deactivates completely so they can be more easily tunneled.

So... you want it to be an empty perk slot.

to be fair, if a killer hits them off the hook that immediately negates any boon the Endurance gives anyway, so tunneler gonna tunnel.

I would have complained about how 80 second timer is so much time and is very nearly a full generator but that just seemed not very constructive.

a balance between stopping stanky tunneling and not op when everyone has it in a game is hard, but on my 4swf ultra league they had Only OTR in common throughout, therefore big boi meta.

Also stop being a swearword at me i offered constructive criticism and youre just telling me that what you said i said is stupid and being a butt about it stop

  • to be frank, imo bamboozle isnt that great, and also karma for overcharge+CoB you fiendish mongrel

  • sorry; skill issue

  • If you can prove it great, make a big post on social media for clout or take the devs to court, if you cant prove that you had this idea before they did, then just big oof for you; otherwise theres really no way to tell how honest youre being.

  • i mean, aside from the horror genre in general, specifically in trashy movies, sex appeal is a pretty big part of it to begin with. I've never noticed anything particularly explicit

Could you draw something in mspaint to show us?

    Untitled-2.jpg

this was the general idea i was going for

its way more garbage than the buttload of time i put into it

some entity claws around the hook to indicate second phase would be good but im not gonna go that far, having to create a full hook from scratch myself was work enough

  • i guess the context is important but like

for a perk that seems like a showstopper for stanky killers its just much more goofy and silly than it looks like it should be

there are three window vault speeds: slow (not sprinting when you vault), medium (sprinting, but either didn't have the angle or didn't run for long enough to do a fast vault), and fast (where the survivor had a running start and the right angle). You cannot grab someone injured who is fast vaulting. You can read here for more information: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Windows

oh what ######### is this nonsense what in the world

i was not informed of this

    bunch of baloney

thank you for telling me it explains a lot

  • @jmwjmw27 said:

I'm pretty sure you can't get an interrupt grab on fast window vaults. As far as I know, you can only do it with slow or medium window vaults.

ive done it before, and it can only be slow or fast, there is no 'in the middle'

  • it is the way it is, and it sucks. All i ever try to do is be as minimally toxic as possible and hope that it makes a change somehow. Otherwise, as he said, oof.

and either way if theyre watching you at the exit gate just go farm destruction points and bank on them blowing it and getting caught in the collapse timer

  • having a double fire for surround sound blindness is a little spooky but if there was something as small as like a 4 second cooldown (if there isnt already) im down to deal as killer main

  • Put this in bug reports(if you havent already) and be sure to add the extra information it asks for, try to add a picture or video if you can, otherwise this isnt really helpful at identifying your problem

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

  • Its hard ensuring a perk has a large enough value when used by an individual, but not exponentially more value when used four times over. Decisive strike was rough way back when, but it was fair. Bringing it back wouldn't be inappropriate.

  • Personally I always let one live for every dc or suicide, but i get that not everyone does that. The best you can do in most situations is either to put in the effort, and see what happens, or resign to the next match, and try not to think about it.

Just looking at that wall of text I can sum it up in 3 words.

    Hard to implement.

Criticizing someones idea not based on how well it would work should it exist but on how likely it is for it to happen or how much you dont want to read it is toxic and short-sighted and demeaning. dont.

  • shrine of secrets dawg, theres a chance

  • wwwwwwwwhoopsie. Try not to be mad, if anything, be mad at how unlucky you have to be to have this happen to you :P

  • Its important to keep in mind DBD is not inherently a competetive game, and it wasnt really made to be that way. Sure, the devs try their best to make it as fair and fun as possible, but making it progressively harder and harder for people to play the longer the games been around isn't really their prerogative, and doesn't make a multiplayer horror game.

  • @Rizzo y'see this is why i originally put this in the discussions forum instead of feedback, so that the people who understood why this wasn't a good idea for reasons i didnt think about didnt feel the need to absolutely dunk on me for their perception that im a selfish killer main who wants the worst for survivors, cuz thats what im feelin right now. ya stank

  • I always thought it was strange that a killer was rewarded bp for destroying pallets, but a survivor wasn't rewarded for pulling it down unless it was on the killer.

    sweet thank you

  • I've been really enjoying the buff to Jolt lately, its been really fun to be able to focus on survivors and have gen management be kind of an afterthought

  • @Carth said:

It's latency and dead hard related probably.

You swing and the survivor dead hards very close together.

On your screen your client/computer has not gotten the message that the survivor has dead harded so your hit connects and looks as if it was good. However, the server has received both the DH from the survivors client and the hit from yours. The DH hit the server before your hit did and was within a .5 second window and so the survivor gets endurance and zooms off. At this point they can't play the DH animation on your client as that would look extremely funky/wrong and they would dab at high speed as they zoomed off which would arguably be more confusing. So instead no animation plays at all and you just get the endurance flash and the survivor speed boost.

forget naruto running, High-Speed Dabbing is the new meta and i want to see it everywhere lmao

  • and what a rant it was, jesus lol. It's important to understand that people play games differently than you, and for different reasons than you. Some people find the idea of putting it at winning and losing super fun, and fighting to be better than others is why they play, a good part of why I personally play, its what gives me the adrenaline rush.

Not wanting to play the game like that is fine, but calling people immature for not liking playing games the same way you do is overstepping. If you want to play super relaxed, go ahead, you should eventually be consistently matched with people the same way, and you can relax.

But some people wanna play this game super sweaty, and that's okay, you don't have to play that way, you don't have to play with them. Calling people immature is not cool though.

  • was really hoping the solution was "DELETE THEM ALL!" lmao

  • i think part of the ideal of no mither is supposed to be that all the benefits of being injured from other perks like resilience apply with minimal consequences, and that you can start the trial with all the benefits and you don't have to risk an interaction with the killer to benefit from them

  • Personally think camping is always toxic, and either you're toxic or you're not. At the end of the day, you either think one kill is honestly inconsequential or you don't, and you can either make a big deal out of it as killer Or survivor, or just leave it behind and say it doesn't really make a difference.
