Protection hits are not toxic, and I even try to tell people to do them as a killer main myself. Survivors would survive better if they look out for their team efficiently.
It also confuses me the Sadako was complaining that much when she has the ability to demanifest and ultimately avoid bodyblocks in most cases. I love when people try to bodyblock my Sadako in deadzones.
-
At first I thought this was about that game modifier they were talking about, but I could see this happening as well.

Just to clarify a bit, it is not just a 16m area. It now applies within 16m of any powered TV, not just the one you teleported to. It will actually cover a decent chunk of the map unless Survivors take the time to shut off nearby TVs.
I was already content enough with demanifest chase being back, reikos watch being restored and not seeing anything about TV cooldowns being touched but this fact actually makes me happy.

I find it's pretty decent on Singularity if you use rapid brutality+soma photo instead of make your choice. Its also disgustingly good on skull merchant.

It's not really as relevant anymore due to people healing less, but FTP + Resilience to steal someone else's injury and use it yourself is pretty funny.
I don't know why but I audibly chuckled thinking about this one

She really didn't need the hinder added to her toolkit with her haste, I agree with that. They should remove one or the other.
That said, I mostly agree with your take on her. People will still say she is the same 3-gen monster with the right perks, but so are most other killers. I've broken her 3 gens by doing them under her drones and being careful when I move about as she rotates around the gens.
Really we need to be more critical about the maps, tile generation and the gen placements more than anything. Pretty sure most M1 killers can 3 gen when all of them are within earshot of each other due to the wonky spawn system at the moment. Swamp and Garden of Joy both have some really bad ones.
-
I honestly didn't realize that Nostromo was a problem, or disliked for that matter.
I actually prefer it to the other alien map simply because it's not nearly as cluttered and it's darker. Some of the loops are kinda interesting outside the generic ones. The only things I'd criticize is the lack of a decent killer shack and how unused those slowdown traps are.
-
Anything Cthulu inspired, or at least a dark sea horror.
-
Very well thought out changes, I approve of this mindset.
I am not a expert on most of these perks myself, but if I can make any note of your changes I really like your take on making Insidious a hex. Aside hexes being weak due to cleansing, I think your idea is a great way for beginners to understand hexes since they have the power to place it themselves and learn what happens when it's cleansed. Not to mention, it would still be an interesting undetectable perk for a few builds off the top of my head.

I don't even know why the game continue at that point. End the game, count as a win with 4 full sacrifices and a bonus BP to compensate for the short match and that's it. If people wanted to play against bot, they would just go to custom match.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3622049#Comment_3622049
Just play Skull Merchant. That usually does the trick.
Instructions unclear, my SM only gets a max of two survivor DCs, if even that.
As for OP though, I do kinda agree you should be able to end a match if it's all bots. Though the free BP is kinda nice at the same time.
-
I still suffer from the frame drops when using Pyramid Head's power randomly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't on the same map. Thought I was going crazy when I last played him.
-
I think it's situational.
If the killer is proxy-camping, the one with the least hook should attempt the save. If the killer is patrolling gens, leaving the survivors with the least amount of hooks on a close by gen is preferred if they can run chase well. That said, it's really only something a coordinated SWF can plan or call out. SoloQ has to rely on luck for that to align.
-
As much as I like Stealth Merchant, this is a tempting offer...
But jokes aside no, no content should be removed. Just rebalanced.
-
Voice chat is nice in theory, but we all know the majority of people will use it for terrible reasons or disable it entirely.
-
I feel like it's a tie between the time I was called a cheater for using BBQ n Chili on Pyramid Head, or the time when Made For This was always being used and someone said I was being carried by bamboozle on my Sadako.

I run hyperfocus religiously to get better at great skill checks, it does NOT need a buff.

nice, my stealth build for her is for gen grabs. It's hard to pull off, but such a rush when it works!!!!
Machine Learning, Tinkerer, Deadlock and Discordance(or Rancor). Basically, whenever a gen pops there is 30 second of gen grabbing potential. The rancor is to show where to go once a gen pop, and since I am undetectable (from machine learning) obsession won't know I have it.
Very solid, love the idea behind it!

I agree with pretty much all of this. I think on point #2 they should just buff the proximity condemn range to make giving condemn a bit easier or have it give like 1.5 stacks. For point
#5 I agree a lot of the add-ons could use some changes and tweaks to make them more interesting or more useful. My main ideals would be:
- I think old Iri-tape needs to be part basekit if they don't keep the short TV cooldowns or have it be nerfed a bit if they do so it only restores 2 TVs or something or has a shorter window to get the hit.
- Reiko's Watch 100% needs to be reverted.
- VCR add-on should also show Sadako coming out of all TVs to make it useful.
- Remote Control add-on should stay as it is with the rework or make survivors with full condemn exposed.
I strongly disagree with you on point #6 though. Deathhook is too restrictive and makes her condemn useless. Survivors would have no reason to address it as well since it wouldn't be a threat at all until they are pretty much dead anyways. Debuffs might help but I feel like survivors can either easily remove them or just ignore it. I do think perhaps 1 hook though could be reasonable.
#6 is more of a 'if they' suggestion anyway, but I agree with your stance as well.

weird build. my build with stealth merchant is monitor&abuse, bbq, sloppy butcher and stbfl with adaptive lightning. I have tried running the build with Gearhead to try get information on gens so you can place a drone before going to gen but it just ended up being that bbq gave me more direct info then Gearhead... the perk designed to show aura on people on gens. I wonder if they'll ever buff Gearhead to show yellow gens again.
I would like that for gearhead, or at least allow us to change aura colors.

Question, do you use Monitor&Abuse with Adaptive Lightning yellow add-on that increases undetectable by 1.8 seconds?
Good idea, but actually no. My go-to build is Adaptive/Brown Noise with Surge/Game Afoot/Dark Devotion/Furtive Chase. Really fun to me because I can constantly confuse survivors with TR. I am debating swapping Brown Noise for something though.
-
I play SM as a stealth killer, she pairs extremely well with perks for it. I also played her the same before her changes, and I will say her new kit is much better for the game than it was prior. I find her 3 gen potential better than most M1 killers, but only because drones are intimidating to most players still. I would tend to agree she may need some kinda auditory sound while effected by the drone's stealth but that depends on how it would effect chases I suppose. I'm no balance expert with her.
When I play survivor, I have enough knowledge of the game plan to just do gens under the drones so the SM doesn't suspect much until she comes back around and harass her 3 gen setups until my teammates get a clue, or do the other gens. Doesn't always work, but I've gotten more wins than losses doing it.
I'm still not a fan of her lore by any stretch, but her gameplay is fun for how I use her.
-
Now that you mention it, I thought the drone SFX sounded off. I hadn't noticed the change too well.
As for her old bgm, I remember seeing so many complaints about it. Personally I didn't mind it.

This is the like actual first constructive and non-accusatory reply, that is not in favour of the idea, on here. Thank you for actually giving your opinion and not being toxic about it. I appreciate your input, and the other more recent replies. The first couple were just toxic as hell.
I try to explain my point of view as best I can is all. Ultimately it's up to BHVR to add/change things in the game, but if I can offer any arguments without coming off as toxic and others do the same, it makes for a clearer picture for all sides on the off chance devs do read these topics.
-
I've played enough of other online games to know that in game mics are, while being a good idea to balance for SWF, a really bad idea in general for SoloQ.
If you've played any other online game, you know a small % of people actually use it to be useful to their team. The rest either disable it, mute everyone, troll players not in their group or be verbally abusive to the extreme at times. And I doubt BHVR will be able to manage sorting through reports of players harassing through mics if they have a hard enough time dealing with other issues through the in-game report system.
And trust me, I'd love mic use as much as the next guy because I have a soundboard to goof off with, but even I know there are some really bad people who would use it to grief their team and in most cases there's more of them than there are players with well intentions.
-
It's not just gens with me, some tiles spawn really weird in large maps. I once had 3 tiles next to each other that on one side had windows facing each other, where you could vault one and immediately vault the next, and on the other side was a TL. Some other weird things I noticed was even pallets spawn a little wonky and some tiles just don't have them when they should sometimes.
-
On the notion that they're bringing her back closer to her prior state, my personal wishlist is:
- TVs should keep their current Cooldowns
- Do something with condemned that isn't overbearing or next to nonexistent, somewhere in between prechange and current Sadako that promotes tape exchanges but doesn't leave too many TVs off if #1 is changed too much.
- Keep her current demanifest anti-stun. It's a great chase tool the more I get used to it.
- Remove the TP cooldowns. Wouldn't make sense if global condemned is removed or even weakened to something like 0.25%
- Touch up some of the addons. Reiko's Watch needs to be back to it's prior state, and other addons should be a little more appealing to run. I also agree with OP that old Iri Tape should make a comeback.
- If the basekit mori is touched in any way, let it be only avaliable on death hook to promote hooks and discourage the slugging thing, as well as possibly have certain condemned stacks grant certain debuffs to compensate and possibly help her chase a bit.
If I think of more I'll edit this post. But for the most part I agree with OP's suggestions as well.

I hope we get the ptb soon, I want to know whether I can be happy or just sad what comes.
I don‘t understand why behavior doesn‘t make a feedback discussion for Sadako, where we can give ideas and our thoughts like with trickster, but in advance instead of afterwards. At least they did it for the nurse Map.
Honestly they could benefit a lot from advanced feedback, considering they don't use the PTB for fine tuning and will slap changes into the main game without testing them in the PTB.
In fact, I still hope they make the PTB a standalone client for this exact reason.
-
I always believe horror is subjective. If the content is horrific to people, it should be represented.
I don't think Chucky is scary at all, but I know others do so I'm okay with it despite it being goofy to me. If others are terrified if Liches, why not represent them. I'm still waiting for a Cthulu chapter, myself.
-
I really wish there was at least a power breakdown of each killer easier to access other than looking them up in the shop so people can look at them after a bad match and understand, or at least research prior.

People don't want to risk being downed with one and giving everyone else a ton of condemned stacks. There is also the issue of trying to find a TV to get rid of your tape with which can also be problematic. I'm not denying players dont touch tapes. But there is also a very valid other side to the story.
Yes, but when she's currently in chase with someone else for longer than 20 seconds and survivors don't bother to cleanse their 4-5 stacks when an active TV is right behind them? I hate slug condemned spam as the next guy, refuse to do it myself, but when I never went past 5 stacks myself while everyone else turns a blind eye to safe TVs it's concerning.
My main point being after this recent Trickster rework, I hope BHVR doesn't go nuclear on her and make her more useless than pre-change Sadako.
-

When she is spamming the teleport there aren't enough tapes for everyone to keep the condemned down. Its honestly that simple.
And yet I constantly saw TVs active. I'd point them to my teammates, and they'd completely ignore them and let their stacks fill to max. Only takes one active TV while she's busy elsewhere.
-
Going against slug condemned Sadako recently, I'm shocked that nobody still touches tapes. At all.
I did 2 gens by myself and never went past 5 stacks because, playing Sadako myself, I know how to best manage the tapes to avoid that. Yet survivors refuse to touch their tapes, never split up, and ONLY touch tapes when they're max condemned and Sadako is beelining for them.
I fear for whatever change is coming this month.

How do you Play Sadako in no disgusting and condemned spamm way. I tried and without playing dirty, she is just bad.
I don‘t like to play against legion and deathslinger, but at least the rounds can be fun. Every round against skull merchant was just 😭
My build actually uses 2 purple addons: VCR and Distorted Photo.
VCR pairs extremely well with my current build of Deadman's Switch, Surge, and Bamboozle. Fourth perk slot opened for whatever, currently using Dissolution for further pallet mindgames or Gearhead for information, and Distorted Photo kinda fills a niche for me since I tend to go in and out of demanifest in chase, I can even use it as a mini I'm All Ears at windows if they're looking at me, but the addon can be swapped around.
Typical gameplan is to get an early hook using manifest mindgames and teleport immediately to either a generator someone is on or to a centralized TV to let VCR throw out the fake projections. 50/50 chance of survivors being brave and staying on gens, or letting go and blocking their gen for 25ish seconds each time. Then I just approach while demanifested and scout for the next victim or teleport again if you need the distance.
It's great if you're not entirely focused on building condemned extremely fast, plus if survivors decide to do tapes while DMS is active you can get some tape slaps. Thankfully the build will probably still work with whatever change they make later, unless TVs get some drastic rework or VCR does.

I‘m happy that you like it.
Even with injured and being the obsession it would be by far better than it is right now and nobody can complain that everybody has 3%, because there is only one obsession.
Thematically it works too. If the survivor knows they're the target of course they're going to work harder than the others for survival. That's kind of the idea behind Yun-Jin's perks too iirc, so if something is going to give a constant haste when injured it may as well be the obsession.

I feel that way with Onryo, I liked how she was and now she is completely different.
Skull merchant is the only character I would want to be made useless, because the whole concept is poorly implemented.
Personally I don't want to see any killer useless, or really perks in general too.
Every addition should have their niche in the game. They can be hated and loved by people for their kit because let's face it, nobody will ever universally love a killer, but their kit should still be balanced well enough and fun to play to those dedicated to them.
Take Onryo for example, I love playing her before and after the rework, probably still will after the next rework because I did find ways to play her that don't involve her broken strategies and doesn't leave me feeling useless at the same time. Others don't agree with me and that's 100% fine, but I'd argue Onryo is somewhere between broken and weak at the moment depending on how she's played.
Another example I see is Deathslinger. Love playing him and landing crazy shots and hits, but I also see a lot of people say he's far too weak and needs buffs while others say no killer should have a gun that draws them to the killer. Or even Legion, one I see constant complaints about but I also see the most fanart and cosplays of.
Gutting killers to uselessness because they're disliked is not the way to go, I'd be more content if they were changed to be well received.
-
My go to was Plunderers Instinct, Ace In The Hole, Bond and Sprint Burst.
-
I once had the idea that if survivors die quickly, the other survivors get a certain % boost in gen repair.
Problem with that is current gen progression can be wild. Either stagnant with the wrong team or blazing fast with the right team.

I think when reworking or changing something you should care about the people who like that character before instead of making him something they dislike
Also a double edged sword, I saw a lot of SM defenders wanting the old drones back. If we all want balanced stuff, we'd have to accept changes to things we all don't fully agree with. The real kicker is if more people agree with the change than disagree AND it's balanced correctly. Probably BHVR's biggest challenge with a Asym game and one I don't envy trying to figure out at this point.

Skull merchant is unfair, she has drones as her power not 10 status effects. She shouldn‘t get a speed boost and undetectable. Her stealth is better than ghost faces, which is stupid and he doesn‘t get a speed boost.
I agree with the speed boost or hindered, but this is exactly my point.
Killers get reworked and people still are mad about this or that. And most of the time we all can't agree on what needs changing in each killer's kit, be it simple things or drastic. And once a killer does get reworked, the community is already so up-at-arms about the problematic kit that they either ignore what was changed and continue to think it's the same killer, claim the killer is completely gutted, or some new meta with the killer arises that becomes the ire of that killer even if it's not as problematic as they used to be.
Perhaps it's a problem with the game's size these days though, it would be impossible for a rework to resonate with every player. At the very least it should be something most of us would agree with. And honestly, knowing BHVR recently even I'm a little scared that they'd completely kneecap a Nurse rework or make them oddly imbalanced.
-
When I started the game I was lucky to be trained by a friend with over 3k hours, learning the ropes as killer and survivor. I can't imagine what it's like right now as a new player with this matchmaking and the opposing sides trying desperately against newer players, sometimes not even aware of them being new.
Best suggestion I can offer is play killer for awhile, see how survivors play, and swap between them and learn from each side and how they play.
-
It's mainly map design.
Problem is, maps being too big make killers with no mobility useless, and small maps make them way too powerful. At the same time, they need to fit all the generators into whatever sized map they need.
I also think there's a current bug with map generation in general. Aside gens spawning so close together, I've seen really weird tiles too. Windows an inch apart from each other connecting to different tiles, two tiles next to each other with no pallets, etc.
-
I think the bigger thing I've never really seen people explain around here during my time with this game is... How to rework the Nurse.
Do you buff her movement speed and remove wall phasing or add longer cooldowns? Can she still phase through pallets? What do you take away in exchange to make her more in line with other killers without making her completely useless? Do you restrict aura reading? How would you go about that?
I feel the problem has been left in so long that no matter what the outcome, people will still be upset. Heck, look at Skull Merchant for proof of that, wasn't out nearly as long and people still hate her rework even though she objectively can't 3 gen as good. And with Nurse I haven't seen the community agree on a change.

You're just proving my point.
That's not a counter-argument for what I explained?
If I don't tunnel or camp, the results of the match differ drastically depending on the way the match goes and rarely becomes a 2-3k with an escape if we don't count hatch considering it's even MMR for the escapee, we're talking gens done and gates opened.
The only times I've gotten otherwise is when survivors do extremely well to the point where I'm forced to make the decision to get someone out quick at the last gen or endgame and even then, it depends on how the survivors play and don't mess up the rescues.
The normal gameflow doesn't always guarantee half the survivors escape if the killer is as competent as the survivors at their tasks.
-
Can't wait for every Meg to get tunneled for having a 1% haste bonus.

If we really want to be real to the movies, the protagonist usually wins at the end. Speaking of Halloween, Laurie Strode didn't die no matter how much Michael Myers tried.
But this is a game and both sides should have a fair chance at winning.
And multiple people also died along the way because Michael is kinda busted in terms of strength.
Again, 1v4 means the 1 needs to have an edge against the 4. That's how asymmetrical games should work. The real question is how powerful they should be against the 4.
