  • Semi-related to this, (I thought this is what the forum post was about when I read the title), I've suggested to them in BHVR's ticket system thing, that they should seriously add a passive feature where if the killer, or a survivor, is AFK standing still for 4 minutes into a round, they should be automatically kicked. If killer is kicked, obviously the match ends.

If survivor is kicked, they get replaced with a bot.

This should seriously already be a thing. When killers AFK, the survivors are literally held hostage. when a survivor AFKs, the game is already over and ruined. I think anyone AFK for 4 minutes in the match, at any time, should be auto kicked. maybe for the killer 8 minutes instead.

On top of that maybe an option to disable them so you don't have to hear them if you don't want to? I like Wesker voice lines, but find Chucky quite annoying, would be nice to get an option to disable voice lines.

The same thing could be done for chase musics, some are just terrible and it would be nice to change them so you can hear them in default or what not. Ofc only for the player that changes the option and nobody else, so everyone can decide on their own.

idk how that would work. Chase music is how the game lets you know youre being chased. I doubt they'd find a way to change that for players who don't want music

The overdrive update is great, but the blue flame really does just look goofy. I'd much prefer the overheat visual.

literally this. #########. I thought it was 100%, for sure, an addon or a weapon skin. But, seriously? This is actually, completely, what he looks like now?

Why blue?? wtffff. maybe if it looked like actual flames... but it looks like some anime cyan blue fire effect. he literally looks goofy.

I've played enough of other online games to know that in game mics are, while being a good idea to balance for SWF, a really bad idea in general for SoloQ.

If you've played any other online game, you know a small % of people actually use it to be useful to their team. The rest either disable it, mute everyone, troll players not in their group or be verbally abusive to the extreme at times. And I doubt BHVR will be able to manage sorting through reports of players harassing through mics if they have a hard enough time dealing with other issues through the in-game report system.

And trust me, I'd love mic use as much as the next guy because I have a soundboard to goof off with, but even I know there are some really bad people who would use it to grief their team and in most cases there's more of them than there are players with well intentions.

This is the like actual first constructive and non-accusatory reply, that is not in favour of the idea, on here. Thank you for actually giving your opinion and not being toxic about it. I appreciate your input, and the other more recent replies. The first couple were just toxic as hell.

If voice chat is added, how would individuals who do not share the same language communicate through audio?

Can a server be provided for each language for this purpose?

They'd probably queue you up with people nearby, yeah. But even if not, terms like "generator!" and "hook!" possibly even "help!" etc, would probably be recognized pretty easily lmao.

some people enjoy solo q with no comms because it adds to the spooky survival aspect of the game. and not all swf are coordinated to the point of toxicity. i think you’d be surprised to see how many swfs are on call with each other talking about tv shows and snacks or just being quiet until something major happens.

comms/swf is not as big of a problem as people make it out to be. i solo’ed for years and years until the last month when i started to swf with my partner. can confirm there’s little to no difference besides the fun of gaming with someone rather than alone. but that’s all online games.

I appreciate the reply. However I do think that if anyone isn't interested in hearing others, and just want a communication off multiplayer game, they could just turn off VC in settings.

As for the other thing you mentioned, idk. I win 9/10 of my killer matches, without a doubt making my "mmr" or whatever high, and pretty much like every match I get as killer, it's against a sweaty bully survivor team clearly mic'ed up, telling eachother what gens to go on, where's my totems, where I am, taking a hit at the EXACT perfect moment cause they can tell their friend across the map to "come here im about to go down im running out of pallets after these 3", etc.

There have been countless rounds where I 100% would've won if the enemy team wasn't a 3-4 SWF queue with global chat.

  • @Raconteurminator said:

i'll give you credit. It took all the way to the fourth example for you to say you'd use proxy chat to bully people into playing how you want them to.

I'll give you credit. It took you all the way to the fourth example for you to get triggered and claim that me trying to help the team actually survive is "bullying".

Sheeple don't usually last that long.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

If there was a proximity chat ingame survivors would use that... to insult the killer while still using the untraceable third-party-voicechats for proper talking/strategizing. Who'd use range restricted vc when theres discord?

Let's face it, survivors dont want voicechat added to the game, especially if it comes with restrictions. As soon it becomes part of the game, it'd be part of the game balance and thus be reason for buffs/nerfs.

Some sort of ping tool (glowing marker visible to people) or message system ( "heal me numbskull", "focus gens") would be preferable, even if the ping tool would also buff swfs even more.

I like that you gave your own suggestions on the idea, but I still disagree. I think many people would enjoy using the in-game proximity chat and having fun with it rather than global chat/discord.

Also obviously global chat for killer or survivors should never be added, so that's off the table.

Proximity chat would also add funny and fun moments, which tons of people would live for, ttvs and content creators would enjoy, etc.

Have you not played Texas Chainsaw Massacre? You had to mute half of the lobby as people said the most disturbing stuff there, at a regular basis. Especially if you did something wrong, you were shouted immediately. This will not solve anything in my opinion, it adds more fuel to the fire.

Another point, most people that play by themselves or in a group are 50% likely to not care about you, or your intentions. So, communicating to players like this does nothing.

You're literally wrong, it would not "add fuel to the fire" it would make the situation better. The rest you said before that is literally the same sh as the previous reply by you.

Also no idea why you're talking about. Whenever I'm in solo queue I RARELY get teammates that are queued up together. like 1/10 chance from what I've seen. so... the rest of what you're saying isn't even true as well.

People shouldn't have to hear that garbage in the first place. Plus, unless BHVR stops giving away the game occasionally on Epic and makes a decent sized team dedicated to moderating voice chat (which we know they won't) and banning every account they stored up last free week, it'll be a never ending problem.

So you turn off voice chat in settings.... as I stated you'd obviously be able to do if they added this as a feature....

Nobody here is defending hate speech....

    @Alias03 said:

Just hearing what you would say to other survivors makes me not want it in game lol. I don't want to be told what to do unless im asking for your input. That would be super annoying. Plus you'd get so many people using it for unhealthy ways or just blasting horrible music incredibly loud thus defeating the purpose.

What I would suggest would be pre canned voice lines that would appear next to the characters portrait in the UI like "I'll go for the save" or "heal me please" those are basic examples but you get the point i'm trying to make. Yes if someone is paying attention to the UI these canned responses wouldn't be necessary but we all know that a lot of people don't understand the UI fully or what they should be doing in a given situation

literally same solution to your argument: turn off voice chat in settings.

Secondly, what's wrong with me telling teammates that they shouldn't be doing corner generators first, or should go do gens instead of standing around while I'm hook camped?

The fact such bad replies have 4 upvotes and such is just truly depressing. goes to show how the majority of people think, though, I guess. that or sheeple mentality.

  • @イエローミント said:

Let's use Deja Vu. Once you realize there's a nearby generator, you can prioritize repairing it. If there are four Survivors at the start of the match, it should always be possible to break that pattern. In fact, I always do this in solo queue. I don't understand why you would repair generators other than that specific one and intentionally bring it down to three generators….

deja vu is actually a very good perk. I used to think it was like seeing the 3 closest gens, and then if one was completed, you'd see the other 2 gen's auras, and so on. I didn't know the 3 auras changed, when you finish those gens.

Even when I run that though, while in solo queue, I ALWAYS get tunneled by killer all game, so the majority of times I even do run gen perks I can't even use them. And then, of course, my team ends up doing corner gens first, gens next to eachother, same side of the map, etc.

This is why it will be a bad idea. The racists, homophobic, misogynistic and sexist people will come out of the wood work. This can't be added.

So you mute them, and report them.... df? It's literally as simple as one button to fix that. Also you literally can still get that in text chat. No idea how your only argument for "this cant be added" is that....

    @VomitMommy said:

If I wanted to talk, I would play SWF... This won't solve anything, quite the opposite.

You either clearly didn't read what I had said, or are just oblivious to it.

"quite the opposite" is absolute bs of a response. I literally explained, and I know I'm right, that if proximity chat was added, less SWF's would use global voice chat. meaning less instant details of the match, less knowing who's chasing who, where are totems, etc. Your "quite the opposite" argument literally shows how little thought you put into this idea, before even replying with your disagreement.

This would not fully abolish sfw's using global voice chat, but it would actually make a lot more not use it. And proximity chat would not be overpowered. You'd have to meet up with other survivors to communicate, obviously, which is also what people should be doing in the first place. To heal, do gens together, etc.

And that would also help the killer more, too, cause it would allow the killer to have survivors grouped up in areas together, allow the killer to hear them speaking, etc.

  • @Skillfulstone said:

There's two theories I've been hearing these days as to why gen spawns have been particularily disgusting these last couple weeks.

1: Since the snowskulls take up a potential gen/totem spawn point, the game struggles and puts snowskulls before everything else which creates weird gen spawns.

2: The coming "3-gen solution" is already partly implemented in that utter mess of a game code. Said solution, due to making gen placement irrelevant due to how Survivors won't have to think about which gens to do anymore, makes the gen spawns more random. After all, if 3-gens are impossible what's the point of taking the time to code proper gen placement? According to the AMA the "solution" will revolve around limiting or outright removing a Killer's ability to kick gens.

So I’m not the only one to notice that literally these recent weeks this has been happening.

whats weird is this happened to me before the snowskull piles and snowmen. The two times I saw it. And in the same night.

also yes, something really annoying, is most survivor players don’t think about what gens to do. Most annoying thing ever while clearly being the best on your team.

watching them do corner generators, both gens next to eachother in a corner (🙁) etc.

Ive had matches where I just cannot allow these people to do a corner generator 5 seconds into the match, or an elevated generator against artist, etc etc, and I fast action spam near them to get the killer to chase them.

literally helping make that survivor actually useful by getting killer on them 😂

but then of course those noobs think I’m trolling, which is understandable cause they don’t understand why I did it.

i only do this AFTER they don’t listen to me emoting at them to follow me to a better gen.

this is why this game needs voice chat. survivors should be able to chat with eachother, but it can only be heard while nearby eachother. the killer can also hear them, but can’t chat back.

this solution would actually lessen the power of SWF’s. Because they have mics on, always able to hear eachother, tell eachother all the info and details at any second, etc. unfair advantage.

but if BHVR added the type of voice chat I described, that issue would be far lessened. Assuming that most multi queues/SWF’s would use the in game proximity chat instead once the feature was added.

yeee, these things can happen on some maps. - Though usually you don't get the super ridiculous ones very often. - On some of the "hourglass maps" you can have more or less a six-gen where the gen(s) that spawn in "middle" pick the slots that are kinda really not in the middle anymore (Suffo, e.g. ; six out of these seven: in front of main, behind main, right of main, the two next to it, the one between main and mid and the one in the first "mid" tile. --- Once had that as Nemo and didn''t even notice until well into the match; was wondering why the darn survs never left the area. Well, they kinda couldn't, it turned out.)

While their 3genning solution should address some of the issues that come with it (making it insanely easy to three gen) it doesn't really solve the issue where the killer actually really has no interest whatsoever in three genning - but if they don't actively take a tour of the map for no good reason at all it kinda amounts to the same. The gen placement itself is the issue. (Same also goes for hookplacements, btw, I've seen several matches wehere hooks were very oddly spawned; twice as many on one side of the map as the other. Lead to the odd situation where even though the team sabod three hooks the killer still made it to a fourth (despite breakout) --- and then a teamie could crawl all the way down one side of the map and out the exit gate cause the killer had used the one hook available there to sacrifice me)

I’ve had countless matches where there’s like 3-4 hooks next to eachother. Makes sabotaeur loadout useless. A hook literally 8 feet away from one hook. Then another 24-36 feet or so.

  • you shouldn't be predropping. in fact, people drop pallets too often. pretend to be dropping and keep looping, instead.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

You can just force the Survivors out of the Exit Gates; If they aren’t opening the Exit Gates intentionally, you can open them yourself to force EGC to force them to eventually leave.

I'm not agreeing with the poster, nothing should be changed about the gates in my opinion, but I recently had a match against a disgusting 4 queue swf (is like every match I play against as killer. i guess cause i have a high mmr idk.) and last girl stayed hidden somewhere while both gates open, everyone else escaped, etc. just to go to gate and escape at last second. the stalling like that is disgusting. no idea why that little degen girl was so petty.

  • I just found this forum post, in 2023 after playing plauge with the perk. literally pressed about it rn.

I just played as The plauge, I used thantophobia, face the darkness, discordance(genius perk to use on her, considering infecting as much ppl as possible is ideal, and infecting anything ppl are focused on)

    and corrupt intervention.

(I was also using both "objects infected longer" addons.

Literally ALL ROUND the survivors didn't cure themselves, and were injured all round from being infected.

Any discordance notifications (which were VERY few in number in the round) I would deal with swiftly, get all survivors off the gens even without discordance notifs, etc.

Meanwhile with all that AND thantophobia with all survivors injured all round, it literally felt like they got the gens done at the same exact speed as without it.

I'm honestly just in awe about how ######### the perk is.

Like if that's with the plague, who can get all survivors injured at once many times, surely, imagine trying to use the perk on any other killer. (don't, its garbage, unless used on oni with nurses calling and hemorrhage maybe)

All round, apparently a 12% penalty to repairs, yet they singlehandedly got gens done alone all injured and while I was patroling all gens. makes no sense.

How can a perk be so garbage and broken?? Clearly 12% penalty isn't enough, cause it literally didn't feel different from regular gen repair speed AT ALL. The best it could maybe do is create the idea for some players that its necessary to heal up before repairing, slowing them more, but clearly these players were experienced enough to realise it literally doesn't matter, the perk is useless.
