I think NOED is a good thing, I honestly can't wait for it to kick in so all you whiny survivors that do nothing but loop, and loop, and loop, and loop, and loop, and loop finally get taken down a notch at the end of the game. I love seeing you get knocked down in the exit gate while doing ur but dance and clicking ur flashlights, I think it's more than fair...
So you want us to stand still?
Nice bait

They've changed NOED like, 5 times. Most of them all generally being nerfs at worst for the perk and side grades at best. To say the devs have done nothing about the perk is a woeful understatement. It's probably the single most perk that's gotten the most direct changes (borrowed time is a competitor although that's more about the deep wounds status effect in general rather than the actual perk itself) in the entire game. At least in the top 3 for sure.

Exhaustion perks are for bad survivors that cannot survive during chases and would end up going down to killers in half the time than they normally do without them.
And it boosts them to purple/red ranks.
Change my mind. /s
"Exhaustion perks are for bad survivors that can't survive during chases"
So that means Dead Hard doesn't take skill to master and use the most efficient way in a chase?
Does that mean Head On takes no skill to get the timing and range right?
Does that mean Enduring and Spirit Fury take more skill than mastering exhaustion perks I listed above?
90% of red rank survivors want to have a word with you

@Chaddad2169 An AU would make sense but it's just something that i myself don't really consider.
After researching the wiki i managed to find this.
"After Jigsaw's death at the hands of Jeff Denlon, another one of his victims, Tapp's deceased partners Daniel Rigg, Eric Matthews, Steven Sing and Allison Kerry were given a memorial. Tapp himself was honored as well, even though his corpse had never been found as the underground tunnels had never been found by the police"
Now that is what makes me believe that it is fake, why would they include Tapp if his body was never found?
Tapp's body must have been found in some way unless someone tipped Tapp's death off.
Some of the wiki's can be confusing.

If a survivor is on a chair, all survivors hear the Hello Zepp theme?
(You know, the infamous song that plays at the end of every single SAW film)?

@Chaddad2169 You also have to take in account that there is a chance he could still be alive, they never found his body down there (I don't count the games as canon) so all in all he could still be alive, when and if he manages to escape, he might end up in the same place where he was before.
We have to take into account that the SAW films were created way before DBD was even thought of.
Tapp's body was actually found because his body was on the ground near the infamous bathroom (if you've watched SAW you'll understand) and he was featured in the memorial service in SAW V.
There are several theories that the licensed characters are that of Alternate Universes in DBD which imo is a strong theory (we have to remember that the entity takes the survivors' body).
Let's start with Laurie, the Laurie and Myers we have in the game were taken from the first HALLOWEEN movie which already has created a time paradox, the first HALLOWEEN ended with Michael disappearing but Laurie was there at the end, she didn't vanish either which already solidifies the evidence that the Laurie that we see in DBD is in fact from a AU.
Now Bill, the simple fact that Bill is from an AU is because during 'The Passing' campaign in Left 4 Dead 2, you can find his body, in the middle of a pool of blood with an Assault Rifle laying on his legs (the player can take the weapon).
Next is Quentin, now Quentin is arguably the only licensed survivor that actually comes from the universe of the film he was in due to the fact that his and Freddy's lores are set a few months after the events of the 2010 movie.
After Quentin is Tapp which I already debunked above (The Tapp in dbd is from an AU)
Lastly we have Ash, now if you took the last ever scene into account from the TV show Ash vs Evil Dead then the Ash in dbd is (like the other licensed survivors) from an AU, however if you didn't take the last ever scene into account then his lore matches up with the last episode of the TV show really well.
It's a bit confusing at first but it seems Quentin and Freddy are the only licensed characters that seem to be taken from their actual universe and not an alternate one

I'm sort of like Quentin, sleepy and lacadazical but still wants to do some good.
Objective: 4, I know my engineering but my sleepiness will make me clumsy.
Survival: around 50-60%. I know my horror movies so I'd know what to do in a situation, but like Objective my lack of sleep will affect my performance.
Altruism: 7, I always try to help people out, I look over my friends in dire situations which may result in me sacrificing myself or distracting the killer to ensure the safety of others.
Boldness: 8, Like Survival, I know what to do in situations. I am confident in my ability to distract and help my team get the objectives done, even if it means dying to ensure they get out.
Around the campfire, I would be tending to the others, healing their wounds and such. If the others are fine I'd most likely be catching up on sleep, if I even can.

I would like to counter this with the fact that a lot of the entity's victims on both sides were taken at the moment of their death. Rin taken after her murder. Lisa taken after her death due to wounds from being used as food. Jane when she crashed her car into the water. Plague when fled to a cave where she started to succumb to the sickness she tried to cure. Tapp when he was bleeding out from having his throat slashed.
What if the Entity is drawn to those close to their own death or responsible for the deaths of other because they are in fact Death itself. The Entity could very well just be a secondary aspect of death that exists as a cosmic antithesis to a proper passing. Every survivor is taken because they can serve as a good source of hope to feed on. That means that these people in general need to be strong willed in some way that makes their death something that can be properly taken. There are outliers of course, but if we're talking Final Destination Death. That primordial force would never accept another taking from it. The only way I could see the two being connected is if FDD couldn't prevent the Entity from doing what it does. The only sensible idea from there is that either they need each other or one is just an aspect of the other that must carry out its actions.
I like your argument but I have one little nitpick
Tapp didn't die from his neck wound, he died from a bullet to the chest, whilst he was bleeding out from the bullet, the entity took him.

Yeah now with Jeff out I can see those 2 more. And Qeng is a cute one, I like your couples seems legit.
Yeah, the reason I want with Queng is because I think that Quentin and Feng have a lot in common, it's proven in the film that Quentin doesn't really focus on his studies, rather just participating in social media activities (also seen in the film) and he doesn't sleep. Pair that with Feng who also doesn't focus on her studies, likes to participate in video game competitions and she also doesn't sleep.
We know that Feng's parents didn't approve of her addiction to video games which also explains her character.
The only thing we know about Quentin's parents is that his father (played by Clancy Brown in the film) was the principal of his high school, we don't know anything about his mother.
And pairing their appearances I can just see it happening
Beanie Quentin and moonrise Feng 😊

I ship Quentin x Feng (Queng) Dwight x Laurie (Dwaurie) David x Meg (Mevid) Adam x Claudette (Adette) Jeff x Jane (Jaff 😂) and Jake x Nea.
That leaves Tapp, Ace, Ash, Bill and Kate out. I didn't want to do LGBTQ+ with Ace and Ash or something, I just left these characters out because Tapp, Ace, Ash and Bill are the older characters so I didn't think they'd fit in with anyone. And ######### Kate, she can die

I love Ash too man, but unfortunately it's the entity's realm so everyone has to play by his rules, even Ash.
Same goes for Bill, Bill kicked ass against the zombie hordes and now he's having to run away.

I am tied with two killers. The first one is Spirit. She teleports/glitches whenever she walks which can make it difficult to mindgame at times. On top of that, she doesn't have a vault animation, so it gets a little annoying if I don't know that she is going through the window. The other killer, and I know this will be surprising, is Wraith. I don't run Spine Chill or Premonition so not having the terror radius to judge when I should get off the gen really screws me over regardless of what rank I'm playing in. After he pops up, I typically panic which leads to him getting a free hit.
Your reasons are the exact same reasons as to why I hate Spirit, also how she can stand still and get free hits.

If they are good, you need to be better.
At some point in life killers must understand they will never be good enough to beat 4 swf with 5k hours each.
There is no need to massacre the game because you cant beat good players that invested thousand of hours playing, and just because you feel bad about it there is the need to debalance the game even more.
I was talking about how easy it was to kill survivors and I'm a survivor main, when I play killer I mostly play Clown (a pretty mid tier killer).
Survivors don't have it easy and I have no problems with losing to a good killer, unless it's a Spirit but I'll save that for a different discussion.
Trying to nerf survivors' loops more will just debalance the game even more (even though as of right now it's pretty balanced).
I don't understand why survivors and killers are asking for more nerfs when the game is in a pretty stable state (probably the most stable for a while).
If anything the only changes we need are QoL changes and some reworks to perks.
Survivors and killers are fine as they are for now.

See, I think initially you are quick to jump to conclusions. When you disagree with something you should state why. Similar to how you pointed out what you liked about the mechanic idea. You should do the opposite when you disagree. defeat arguments with logic not insults or exaggerations. I make both Survivor and Killer sided changes I try to remove a bias. There are reasons I believe in the changes and have no problem fully explaining my position. However, doing that on every single post is sometimes just not doable due to time constraints and general spam.
"Being pulled off and the entity stabs where the survivor's head just was sounds terrifying and the deliverance one? Perfect. Absolutely perfect." - It just changes it to be more action based. Not let me macro or spam a button. Although, skill checks are technically quick time events they are not used really as such in this case. You have fall-backs. Glad you like the change.
"I'd suggest something a bit more dramatic and violent if the survivor misses the skill check, maybe a smaller spider leg stabs into the survivor's side (and the sound they make will just be a sound that they make if they got hit from healthy to injured)." - Again if Behavior has better ideas for the animations I am down. Again this is general concept for a mechanic and just some bonus ideas to go along. If this animation was changed I wouldn't hate the mechanic. It simply is a visual representation of thought.
"Also a few deliverance changes (I assume the skill checks will be similar to the DS and Brand new part skill checks?)." - You would be correct: You got a buff but you have to work for it to make it happen.
"If the survivor hit one skill check out of three, they'll remain on the hook, same if they hit none (obviously).
If the survivor hit two out of three they'll still unhooks themselves but will be affected by deep wounds (when they kobe maybe have the entity slash the survivors back? Thus causing deep wound?)
And then three out of three they unhooks themselves unharmed." - Understandable the reason I made it 3 is because I want to make it more prone to failure. I don't want the mechanic to be an instant buff with no downside. Deep Wound in the current state is a useless status effect. It is already being exploited by just remaining in deep wounds within the terror radius or in a chase. Not something I am fond of for those particular reasons. I preferred the old borrowed time you needed self-care or a teammate to patch you up. If you were in chase you needed someone to take a hit for you. These mechanics were more diverse than they are now and more 'deadly' per-say.
True, Deep wound is a pretty much useless status effect.
The reason why I thought if you hit two out of three you'll be affected with deep wound is because I had the idea that you'd have to waste a bit more of time to mend yourself then go do a gen or be healed.
I honestly think that the timer for deep wound should be affected from meters rather than the terror radius itself.
If they changed it to meters, it'd be a bit more useful to the killer and would also help survivors affected with deep wound against killers with low terror radius' (Myers, Ghostface, Wraith, Pig).
But yeah, I wouldn't mind how this idea would be executed just as long as they do it right.

I wholeheartedly agree with every single one that you stated. I guess the devs want us to create our own main character, but it would be nice if they gave us some kind of hint as to who could be able to stop this elderitch abomination

Thanks for agreeing with my statements.
I also forgot to add that Laurie is a survivor and Adam shows grit and "Was raised by a strict man who taught him how to make the best out of a bad situation" (the quote from Deliverance). Also Adam's quotes are all about confidence and willpower, this quote is from Diversion "There's what is easy and then there's what is right. If you confuse the two, there's no telling what you become."
And from Autodidact "There's no limit to what you can achieve, as long as you back it up with hard work."

If you touch the wall, you get the medium vault. It shouldn't be hard to press space slightly sooner. And the areas that you weren't supposed to be able to fast vault got fixed.
It doesn't matter if no one asked for it. They realized they made a mistake and fixed it.
Time to actually use some skill, cause looping takes none.
Looping takes no skill. Yes.
They changed the vaults because looping takes no skill.

@Atrushan88 this is an incentive to bring keys for the team. I think to compensate they can quicken the death animation since the crawl to the sky is very slow. Also the negative emblems would not be a severe penalty it is just something to make staying in the game and not leaving incentivized. The hatch only opens so quick and if the survivor is nearby they can still manage. That or once gates get rebalanced there will be that opportunity if they have not brought a key. You are not helping your teammate you are putting pressure on the killer. You want to ######### which the killer knows you are gonna do so let's have a slug fest. You hate that too don't you? You can't have the best of both worlds on it. Or as suggested they are considered dead after failing the skill checks. That is still 10 seconds which is fair game. I hope they dc after dedicated servers are implemented... Once they get punished for it enough times I see it being a 'Yeah we lost bring a key' type situation. Mechanics should not be balanced around someone disconnecting. Disconnecting should be heavily punished instead.
Change the death animation, after the entity impales the survivor, the hook breaks and the husk of the dead survivor falls to the floor and the entity's claws pull them into the ground.

General Mechanic
Many people have taken to asking for this to be an automatic phase. This kinda takes the 'struggle' out of struggle. I suggest a new idea I had posted in a previous thread. Essentially it will be tied down to skill checks. One every 5 seconds.
Hitting the skill check keeps you alive. Missing two skill checks in a row will lead to instant sacrifice. Missing a skill check will reduce your bar by 5 seconds. You are losing the struggle between you and the entity. Slipping up is essentially losing to the entity while the key-bind suggestion below is your suicide option.
Great skill checks add
21.25 seconds to your bar. If you are great at hitting great skill checks this will increase your timer by a few seconds. This can be a clutch aid in which killers are camping or your team is just needing a bit more time to get to you.Blood Point: Struggling on the hook generates Struggle BP. Hitting great skill checks award bonus struggle points for the survivor. Failing to hit a skill check will punish your unbroken emblem.
As @Atrushan88 and @Peanits suggested there should still be a way to suicide on the hook. I suggest an activator button like dead-hard. This gives you the option to just let go and accept your fate. While missing two skill checks is more like losing the battle to the entity. Again pleases both natures of the game.
Skill Check and Perk Effect Changers:
Huntress Lullaby: Yes should affect these skill checks. Makes nabbing that totem slightly more important. It would also keep you on your toes if you were hooked and it has five stacks.
Unnerving Presence: Would severely be abused by campers if this was implemented. I can understand maybe a bonus slight reduction to these types of skill checks. Otherwise this should not affect these skill checks.
Deliverance: If you were not able to use it on your first hook state: You can hit a designated button like dead hard. This will cause you to have to succeed 3 difficult skill checks (BNP/DS skill checks) in rapid succession. These skill checks pause your struggle timer and do not count towards losing the battle to the entity. If you hit all three skill checks you are able to get off the hook. This gives you a second chance of being able to use Deliverance... However, you have to work for it. These skill checks will not cause an instant death for missing them.
Spine Chill: Can reduce the frequency of skill checks down to 4.75/4.5/4.25. This would allow you to have more chances to extend your struggle phase. Anything other than the slightest of reduction of these skill checks would be too powerful.
This is Not Happening: Yes it would make the skill check areas bigger. The perk is weak as is so it doesn't make this a terrible change.
Stakeout: Punishes camping and that is alright. The perk is weak as is so it doesn't make this a terrible change.
Doctor Madness: I would have to test to see if this is a fair mechanic. This mechanic is to be a detriment to campers not hinder survivors. However, at the same time counter-weighted by bad-skill-check plays.
Animation Changes:
Suggestion from @Boss and expanded on.
Great Skill Check:
- This will have the entity attempt to stab the survivor and by swift luck they are able to dodge it. Letting them live just a little while longer.
Good Skill Check:
- Can stay the same as is. The concept is the survivor is just barely scraping by fending the entity off. Slowly they are weakening and the entity is just waiting for it.
Missing a Skillcheck:
- The entity goes for a quick jab inward letting the survivor know their death is getting closer another slip up and it is over. Practically just a fraction away from piercing them and completing the sacrifice. This animation will revert if the survivor succeeds the next skill check. (Shows the struggle in an animated way)
If the Deliverance Perk bonus I suggested above is implemented:
- The survivor will unhook themselves. However, during this the entity attempts to take a quick jab inward to complete the sacrifice and the survivor knocks it away just barely.
Unhooking by the Survivor:
- As the unhooked survivor starts to drop to the ground the entity stabs the hook right above there head as they land. Showing the next hook will be their last.
Point Scoring:
Skill checks reward objective points for hitting. It is your objective to stay alive, do gens, and get out. However, the longer you struggle for the more struggle points you gain. If you extend your life by hitting these great skill checks you naturally gain more struggle and objective points.
Benefits
- This mechanic saves your keys lifetime. No more button mashing/macro spam space.
- This mechanic does not really impede either side's game-play. It is mainly a QOL change.
- This mechanic is no longer 'rapidly tap space' a meaningless duty.
- You wouldn't die from lag spikes unless they were so severe that lasted 10 seconds in a clip.
- Adds depth to the game during the struggle phase.
- Punishes camping killers
- Natural buffs to other perks that are not in meta.
Now this is the first change I've heard from you that I actually agree with, especially the animation changes and buff to Deliverance. Great skill check = dodging a jab by the entity? That sounds so COOL.
Being pulled off and the entity stabs where the survivor's head just was sounds terrifying and the deliverance one? Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
I'd suggest something a bit more dramatic and violent if the survivor misses the skill check, maybe a smaller spider leg stabs into the survivor's side (and the sound they make will just be a sound that they make if they got hit from healthy to injured).
Also a few deliverance changes (I assume the skill checks will be similar to the DS and Brand new part skill checks?).
If the survivor hit one skill check out of three, they'll remain on the hook, same if they hit none (obviously).
If the survivor hit two out of three they'll still unhooks themselves but will be affected by deep wounds (when they kobe maybe have the entity slash the survivors back? Thus causing deep wound?)
And then three out of three they unhooks themselves unharmed.
But alas, great change ideas 😁

Bonus points for adding in Tapp, however, it's like the old saying goes "This is bigger than you could even imagine"
I imagine Tapp would be confident in his ability to try and thwart the entity's plans but similar to the Jigsaw case he'll probably get too obsessed and his mental state will just break (similar to the endings of the SAW video game).
Bill would probably aid the team like he did his friends in Left 4 Dead and probably end up sacrificing himself for the survivors
Quentin will probably try and find flaws in the entity's world (similar to how he did in Freddy's dream world) and use those flaws to his advantage.
Ash would probably just groovy in style and kick ass like he does in the Ash vs Evil Dead TV show.
Dwight would lead the team and help them through the process of trying to escape
I assume both Meg and David would work on distraction seeing as their lore states them as the two athletic ones (Jake too probably?)
Claudette (like Bill) will assist the team and put her feet in their shoes
Nea would obviously be the sneaky one, same with Jane (poised and head on are pretty stealth oriented perks) and Jeff would help these two as well (distortion and aftercare) and Feng (technician) as well as her understanding of survival (video games do that to ya)
Ace and Kate will keep the team's spirits high.
That just leaves Adam and Laurie who I think will work together well, Laurie knows her schoolwork and Adam's a teacher.
I started this off only actually writing about Ash, Bill, Quentin and Tapp but drifted off into doing every survivor 😂

And his lips look stupid too. I think he would make a decent clown though.
Bill used his cigarette butt to stick white feathers onto his face using PVA glue. I bet his face would melt into liquid wax if you lit the feathers too.
You're dissing, QUENTIN AND BILL!!!!
Let's talk about Kate, doesn't have a realistic voice, sounds annoying and a 5 year old having a temper tantrum, a face that I REALLY want to punch, lame cosmetics, people that main her are weebs, people that play her are #########. I could go on

I'd say Kate has the best chance of irritating the Entity. But when it's between a country singer who's great at lifting spirits, and a literal malevolent dimension of intelligent cruelty, I think positivity's just gonna be one small ingredient to beating it.
You're also going to need power and teamwork, these two other ingredients are mostly used by Quentin, Tapp, Bill and Ash as they're all fighters, you learn in the lore that Quentin fought Freddy in his own dream world and summoned the entity, Tapp has a knack of never giving up, Bill puts the lives of others in front of his and Ash.... well... LoOk Who'S ShITTing IN the TaLl GRAsS

Kate. Kate. And Kate.
Sorry, I'm obsessed with her. I personally think she is as she originally was supposed to be released with LF. The game takes a lot of inspiration from TCM, so I thought she could've been the main protagonist based on the inspiration.
I sound crazy lol
Don't mention that woman to me. I HATE Kate.
But I LOOOOOVE Quentin, Tapp and Bill

Maybe instead of killing everyone instantly, it makes the countdown timer much shorter, like 80/60/40 seconds? That would make them panic a little, wouldn't it? XD

@Raven014 that is a cool take once other issues are resolved. I think EGC should start once all generators are completed. It simply makes more sense this way as you can just 99% a door as a survivor and opening the gate as killer = you lost all possible pressure.
Nice, now we're talking about EGC being even harder for survivors, how about we just change the name from "Survivors" to "Killers' little toys". EGC starts after last gen is popped, what is this madness? Some of these discussions I've seen, "killer shack is an infinite, nerf it", "Clown should have built in exhaustion and pinky finger" and now "EGC should trigger after the last gen is done". What is this?

Yesterday I had a game in the wrecked cars map vs Ghostface, did a gen, other guy did a gen, then when I was helping a Claudette with a gen GF appears and begins to chase me, I was the obsession, It was a long chase so 2 more gens were done, then I get 1 hit and I kissed the ground, dude camps me on the floor until the last gen gets done and then he uses that Mori-like perk on me, I wasnt even hooked.
Nice way to reward a total noob.

You're talking about Rancor, not NOED, in all honesty I find Rancor fine as it only affects one survivor, I can't wait until the update when Rancor becomes the new NOED and enables the killer to one hit everyone and mori them 😂.
