I follow the tool tips all killers are similar at base. Having different speeds is differences in base. We shouldn't balance around multiple speeds. Nurse and Myers are the only two I don't think can be tweaked to compensate currently. As in slightly slow the charge speed on hatchets to compensate for them to be able to catch up like a 115% killer. Slight Buff/Nerf which is a QOL change to the 115% movement speed.

I feel that every killer apart from Legion and Freddy should have some QoL changes.

It'd be nice for a bit more variety to killers' playstyles.

I definitely agree with some changes to killers

Every killer has cons, every surv build has cons, deal with it.

I'm a toxic piece of crap survivor main too.

But when I play killer I main Clown and I do agree he needs some QoL changes.

He doesn't need built in exhaustion. Flask of bleach should definitely be base kit

  • @Jdsgames said:

All killers should have base 115% movement speed and their powers tweaked to compensate. There is no reason we should attempt to balance or play around different speeds. It limits map design and killer potential.

I assume you mean powers tweaked on killers like Hag and Spirit?

I don't mind Huntress having a 115% MS cap but Spirit and Hag can become even more powerful (Spirit especially) to the point of it just being unfair.

Nurse wouldn't need a MS buff anyway, we all know that πŸ˜‚

Dead hard means you are planning to take a hit and keep running as long as possible...

Sprint burst means you want to get away before the killer can hit you. SB all the way.

Dead hard has a higher skill cap and is useful in more situations than Sprint Burst.

Also, you have to walk everywhere with SB which wastes valuable time that survivors have before they are killed.

    Dead hard all the way

Survivors decide the meta. When stealth will become meta over looping, we'll see more doctor and legion, with detection perks more than chase ender perks.

Stealth will never become the meta, it's too boring to become a meta over looping.

Even after killers like you (I've seen your posts) nerf looping into oblivion survivors are still gonna try and loop than be Claudette's every single game

Me. I'm satisfied with how the game is currently. Sure they are a few issues here and there for survivors and/or killers. Now in days I can live with it. Because I can finally say this from the bottom of my heart.

And I mean every single word.

I truly think the devs really did a pretty good job so far.

Ho boy, they really did. πŸ™‚

you guys are awesome but imagine that the character heather IS a survivor and she would fit perfectly in this game together with nea, feng, and the other. The nurse of dbd is 100% inspired by the nurse of SH so it could be possible to bring heather in. To be honest i dont like the new evil dead character but other people love him and its ok when they have fun with him but please give us silent hill fans just this one chance with heather. New licensed characters will come anyway. Please my dbd friends make it real please . :-)

  • @Dalt It seems they're trying to do that now.

Look at Jeff and Jane as an example, they're the two characters that have different body builds compared to the rest of the characters.

I doubt that the devs will keep doing this and start adding even more diversity to the survivors. There might be a Swede introduced next chapter or the chapter after that!! You'll never know!

Agreed, killer mains are definitely way worse than survivors, are there toxic survivors, yes, but killers are way worse

for example just last night I was solo survivor and versed someone who I knew is a really big killer main, and barely plays survivor, (my area has a small player base so you recognise people especially at rank 1) he played Freddy with 2 ultra rare add ons, and a ebony mori, then when he finally hooked me, he hit me over and over on hook, then never left hook far enough to be out of terror radius, then as soon as I was getting saved he comes back then hard tunnels me, as in he actively goes around 2 other survivors trying not to hit them just to get me, then constantly bmed by faking the mori, then finally did it, then after the game he messaged me and his exact words β€œthat’s what you get for killing me with spirit”, yep nice, when I’m killer I also actively don’t camp or tunnel, and rather get a 0k than getting a kill from tunneling, so I get this treatment just because I killed him.

And then us survivor mains are meant to play along, and when we don't, we are considered crybabies. The mindset of people that main killer and only play survivor for dailies is astonishing. Play the other side before you complain that one side is OP or handicapped.

I'm a survivor main and also play killer quite a lot (I only actually play survivor when I have friends because randoms are #########, when I don't have friends to play with I play killer) and I must say, BOTH sides have unfair perks (mostly killers) and add ons (both sides are guilty for this).

Killers have perks like NOED, compare NOED to Adrenaline. Both are compared and complained about, NOED and Adrenaline both activate after the gates have been powered (aka 5 gens being done), Adrenaline heals the survivor ONE health state and gives them haste (150% MS) for 5 seconds. NOED grants the killer the exposed status effect and 4% MS (at tier 3). Both are complained about. It's a never ending process.

It's the same with insta heals and mori's.

Imo the purple insta heal and green and yellow mori's are fine.

The problem is Ebony mori's and Syringes.

Both are easily the most unfair game changing things in the game.

One heals a survivor completely to healthy if they're in the dying state and the other allows you to instantly wipe out the whole team if everyone has been hooked at least once.

I think I speak for most of the playerbase when I say Ebony mori's and Syringes should be nerfed or completely revamped.

After that it only really leads to OP killer specific add ons.

The only ones I should note are the following:

Omega blink and 5 blinks (Nurse)

Prayer Beads and (to a few) Mother- Daughter ring (Spirit πŸ˜‘)

Iridescent head (Huntress (although it still requires some skill to pull of the hatchet hit).

Insta saw (I hear a lot of complaints about this one on Hillbilly, not so much for Bubba)

Iridescent King (to some salty survivor mains who don't like their exhaustion being removed) (Doctor).

And old Frank's mix tape and Cold Dirt combo (Legion) which has since been removed (thankfully).

In short, both sides have VERY strong abilities, it's just the people who use them are what makes it a problem.

Freddy license isn't for the Robert englund Freddy but for the remake, if I remember correctly.

Correct, so Freddy would have to have custom made outfits by the devs.

  • I feel like passives would be fine as long as they can be toggled on and off, so you can choose if your survivor is purely cosmetic or not because I know some players who just play a survivor because they like them so making passives a thing would just make everyone play the same survivor and it'd become bland as all hell.

To balance making it a toggle, make passives also have a downside.

I struggle against Doctor because I need to do at least a little stealthing and he passively takes that away. But from what I've seen, as we get better as a survivor, he will be easier to go against. Now I just play really aggro because he's likely gonna find me anyway. It's kinda fun.

I love when immersed players become aggressive.

Screw the immersed playstyle, have some fun being chased!!!

All I want is the old fast vaults back, not have the stupid ones but the old animation if you know what I mean.

Basically the old fast vault animation but keeping with the requirements that we have now. I don't want those stupid fast vaults in enclosed spaces back.

  • They will, in fact the goal of the Archives is to expand the lore of the Dead by Daylight universe.

This means all the survivors and killers (hopefully licensed as well) will have their stories expand. As well as the world of the Entity.

    The Archives won't disappoint 😁

  • Ignore them man, don't bother.

Because killers think they're never wrong when clearly there are problems for both sides, but nope... It's all survivors fault. Always is, never is the killer community's fault.

A survivor main will come to the forums and ask something simple like "Revert the vault changes" because vaults are ######### now or "nerf something slightly for Nurse and/or Spirit" and they'll be on you like a pack of tigers.

Again, killers are always right, just putting it out there. They're never wrong.

Well, us killers are sick of getting all the nerfs (Freddy rework exception). Almost every balance change is in survivor's favor.

    Survivors complain about PLENTY:

    NOED

    Camping (a non-issue)

    Nurse

    and Spirit.

And that's it. Everything that survivors find challenging to go against, they want nerfed into the ground. It makes us killers not want to deal with you.

    NOED isn't challenging, it's a joke of a perk.

There's absolutely nothing "dirty" about 99-ing exhaustion to use sprint burst more efficiently. It doesn't stop you from playing the game as opposed to camping/tunneling off the hook which basically means "I won't allow you to play - now get out out of this match".

Oh no I know that, I just said it's "dirty" so I could actually have a conversation with him.

I know it's not dirty, I just assumed if I only talked about camping and tunnelling he'd kick off

Well, if gens weren't completed so quickly... we wouldn't feel the need for Ruin. Especially in High ranks. I mean, a lot of killers wait a long time to get into a game, then it's finished in 4 minutes.

It's more of a symptom of the game's flaws then a problematic perk.

I see several killers do well without ruin, so don't even say ruin is a necessary perk at red ranks. I've seen several people do well without it.

  • @Raven014 said:

Sprint Burst: Many of the people who use it will activate it mid chase, since they will save the exhaustion cooldown for it. That wasn't it's design purpose, and it's annoying.

Adrenaline: I hate 4 man SWFs who run Adrenaline. Very few killers can counter this because very few can one shot people.

Deliverance: This perk, while balanced, isn't fun to play against. It rewards survivors for doing what they should, and undos work that killers have done and can stop a snowball that the killer had set up. In comparison to survivors, it's like having a perk that, when you hook 1 survivor, you can break down a completed generator, so that they have to complete it again.

    Survivors would complain about that.

I personally do not respect Deliverance, and will just hit them down again. I always linger if I hook Adam because of that.

Saving your exhaustion for your Sprint Burst is a strat just as dirty as Camping and tunnelling. But it's still a strat and is used as a design purpose.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

After the game I just had, I feel the need to ship Quentin and David, despite knowing it would likely never happen.

Here David and Quentin are, in a trial with Laurie and Claudette. Claudette is failing miserably at everything, getting hooked several times, as is Laurie. Claudette kills herself(DC), and Laurie dies on the hook. All that was left were David and Quentin, with 3 generators left, trying their best to survive with an unspoken bond. David is running from the Doctor, while Quentin is repairing a generator as fast as he possibly can, David gets hooked for the first time.

Quentin sneaks up and saves David, healing him as the Doctor is coming to him with his medkit, he finishes the heal and they both run off in separate directions, the doctor is now on Quentin, he stalls for as long as possible for David to try to get a generator, it isn't enough, but David saves him, returns the heal and the doctor doesn't find them, David and Quentin make a long and quiet journey hiding from the doctor, looking for a generator to repair. Quentin, trying to save his sprint burst for necessity, is spotted and both unfortunately are found.

Quentin evades the Doctor's shock therapy behind a T wall, losing him, and he goes after David while Quentin works on a generator. Another generator is finished and David goes down. Quentin rushes for the save, heals him again and gets caught out, he stalls as long as possible with one gen left, but is eventually downed. The Doctor leaves him to find David, and he falls down a hole(Temple of Purgitation) to hide from the Doctor and await David's heal.

David comes and heals him, and they manage to evade the Doctor, and start to work on the generator. It's halfway done, they're almost there, but the Doctor finds them. David gets hit, and tries to evade him. He sees Quentin, and hits him as David rushes to try to protect him, but Quentin doesn't want to see David go down, and rushes in front of David to take the hit. He begins running the Doctor around, is downed again, and tries to pull the same maneuver. The Doctor however finds David and downs him as well, and it fails. The Doctor finds Quentin and hooks him, killing him. David however had Unbreakable, getting back up as Quentin was killed.

The Doctor closes the hatch, and the two doors are not terribly far apart. David manages to open the exit gate after hiding from the Doctor, and leaves with a heavy heart.

Honestly it makes a good story. I was the Quentin xD. Me and the David were literally trying to keep each other alive as long as possible, even at the risk of our own lives. I almost 2 pipped.

@TrueKn1ghtmar3 As for survivors not having relationships, I honestly doubt that relationships wouldn't happen at all. Emotions run high in dire situations. You look across from the person you're trying to save and who's trying to save you, even if it's for your own self preservation you come to know each other and become attached.

While I don't ship gay relationships that much, that story pretty much sums up what my gameplay style is too as a Quentin main. That Laurie and Claudette seem like dicks (most players that play the meta survivors are).

In all honesty, your answer to @TrueKn1ghtmar3 is perfect. Survivors will form a bond in the entity's world. This is the thing with Dwight, Claudette and Jeff (their perks are literally called bond, empathy and aftercare).

I’m at red ranks as well, dead hard definitely can be worked around imo, once I know a survivor has it I either wait if they’re out in the open for them to waste it, and when they’re in a loop and they use it for distance I just eat a pallet then continue the chase, or if you get right up to them you can lunge through a dead hard and still hit them and possibly even make a survivor waste a pallet

Exactly, I completely forgot that Dead hard lasts for 0.5 seconds and a lunge lasts for a whole second, so basically if you know they're gonna use it for distance, simply just lunge πŸ˜‚

Never said he had the biggest connection (in actuality when he manipulates auric cells he isn't even aware of it), that title would have to go to Vigo or Benedict. But out of the playable survivors, you might be right... I mean him and Lauri both ended up in the trials because they summoned the entity right? (Haven't really looked into their backstories much but remember someone mentioning they did.) But out of all the lore Vigo has to have the closest physical connection as he created his own little pocket realm out of auric cells, benedict has to be the closest mentally as he has devoted his life to studying it whether he was aware of it or not.

Laurie's lore literally tells us nothing about how she ended up in the realm of the entity, I'm not lying, read it yourself.

  • @TrueKn1ghtmar3 said:

The entity is quite simply a hive of auric cells that has yet to delineate into what we see today being controlled via a hive mind of sorts by a "queen" Auric cell if you would (which is in its basic sense the true body of the entity). This "queen" causes these cells to form the body we see (which in all reality looks like a massive auric cell without its cell wall) as well as the trials and the items found within. Because the Entity lacks full control over these cells they can be controlled by outside forces (vigo and Quentin being the two most famous examples). So as for the answer of the question of whether the entity is she or it cells lack basic gender therefore it is "it" but due to the fact it is associated with feminine nouns such as queen it would be not uncommon to see it referred to as a she

My boi Quentin could perhaps be the survivor with the biggest connection to the Entity?

    Interesting

  • I'd say devotion should allow you to obtain legacy for Laurie and Myers - Ash and Ghostface.

This way, legacies will become a thing for the following survivors and killers:

    Laurie

    Myers

    Ace

    Hag

    Bill

    Feng

    Doctor

    David

    Huntress

    Leatherface

    Quentin

    Freddy

    Tapp

    Pig

    Kate

    Clown

    Adam

    Spirit

    Jeff

    Legion (Frank and Julie)

    Jane

    Plague

    Ash

    Ghostface.

Only these characters should be able to get legacies from devotion, because legacy for Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly and Nurse should stay exclusive to the people that earned them.

It would be fair if they did this way

Exactly. The lunge isn't executed until the player chooses. So while the survivor is pulling off a humanly impossible full speed duck w/360 the killer 360s as well, then performs the hit. It's balanced as it is.

If you want to prevent the reverse lunge then the survivor's ability to sprint into a duck then turn on a dime should be prevented as well.
