Lmao I'll never understand why people make these posts. If you make it impossible to camp with Bubba then it's going to make him a lot less fun to play as.
Same thing with Michael Myer's add-ons. People complain about his Tombstone add-ons but if you nerf his add-ons then Michael Myers will just become a really unfun M1 killer with a really slow early game.
Stop trying to ruin meme killers and let people have fun with the killers they paid for.
How is camping from the killer POV fun? You're doing nothing.
-
I just wish people did gens, instead of mindlessly orbiting the camped hook trying to get an impossible save.

Jail. How dare you.
Jokes aside, I know how it feels. I personally adore DbD's Yoichi and he's all but forgotten too. Even when it was fresh, all attention was on Sadako.

Let's be honest hardly anyone at all cares about Jeff.

No tunnelling justifies being salty. No matter how you dress it up.
Neither does camping or gen rushing.
Being a sore loser who gets upset about a game is never justified.
I don't personally salt over peopel that do it, but that doesn't mean people that do aren't in their own right to do so.
I wouldn't be happy if someone poured hot coffee on me at a cafeteria.
-
Blatant tunneling deserves every pinch of salt it gets and more.
Strategic tunneling is a valid strategy.
An example of non strategic, salt-worthy tunneling would be The Pig tunneling an active trap.
A strategic tunnel would be facing a weak link in a SWF and killing them early.
-
P100 means nothing, and people shouldn't care about other people's levels other than to congratulate them for their dedication to specific characters.
People dodging high levels are the same people that will tell you black cats bring you bad luck. They're probably the same people that used to complain about and dodge lobbies with survivors that had "fancy skins", too. (Yes, this was a thing)
And at least people that I know of switch at the last second not to be misleading, but to be able to play with that character because people just keep dodging due to their baseless assumptions.
And there's also the fact that the game really doesn't care all that much about matches, since you're allowed to queue with anyone regardless of a hidden "skill" number. You can be brand new to the game and queue with an experienced friend, and the game won't care. That "skill" number is also functioning on variables that are completely unrelated to player skill on both roles.
Last but not least, as a survivor, you can't even see killer prestige until a match is over. So an easy fix to killers just dodging left and right just because of a fancy symbol is to hide survivor prestige from their POV until the match is over. Killer won't dodge and survivors will still get to show off their level to other survivors in the lobby, everyone's happy.
-
Not to disrespect you in any way, but I find almost every comment/discussion you've been posting increasingly biased. From the repetitive Us vs Them mentality to unnecessary passive-aggressive attitudes and comments towards others and the devs themselves.
The game won't ever be perfect, but the devs probably know better than you and me on what to do with the game and everything within it, considering it's their job and what they get paid for. They also know what is and isn't going to happen, unlike us, so don't assume X is being changed and Y is being added while Z is being worked on because we just can't know for certain.
I think it'd be healthy if people in general started to acknowledge that the player is also responsible to adapt, not just the game. Not everything is put perfectly on the same level, but that doesn't mean a player shouldn't try to get better at something like a certain killer or a perk build before talking.
Last but not least, bias and skewed opinions in the forums are only going to slow down the process of making the game better, which is something that has already been mentioned in a comment made to one of your discussions.
Now, don't let me make you feel like everything you write isn't valid, but don't be so quick to talk and jump onto everything.
-
I'd say it's a mix of MMR/SBMM just casually not existing and the fact that the game does not get many new players at all.
-
If you stress, you're giving the game too much importance and it's on you not the role you're playing.

lol let me introduce you to the internet lol
I get called a sex addict, a mentally ill individual and lots of other nasty things IRL by some people in the street just for being bisexual while there's people out there getting aroused watching mutilated stuff, animals, vomit, etc. It really bothers me!
-
I'm just extremely worried at the fact that there's people playing this game that are genuinely aroused by a mutilated ghost, a putrefied priestess that keeps puking herself, and so on.
-
Can we all stop underappreciating the people responsible for the very existence of the game we are all playing and care about?

A bully SWF's purpose is to bully, not to progress the game, so that 5 gen chase definetly wasn't a bully squad. There are some toxic SWF of course, but they're not bullies, they're going to do gens and progress the game.
It sounds like you did indeed get put with survivors that were too good, but in my opinion if that happens all the time it's not the matchmaking, there's no way you're getting put against competent survivors 24/7 if you're just starting out as killer. Maybe watch killer gameplay or ask someone to coach you.
If you're absolutely convinced it's not you, then maybe try playing at a different hour of the day if you can.

The "disables at endgame" element of the 6.1.0 DS nerf was pretty fair, so I wouldn't say revert it entirely. Bring back the longer stun animation, and it'll be fine.
OTR is a lot better than people give it credit for if it's used properly, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with having two strong, viable anti-tunnel perks in the game. In fact, the more the better, really.
I agree, having it stay active in an endgame scenario was just unfair, and the stun as it stands right now is just lame.
-
I know this doesn't offer anything constructive to this, but...
In all seriousness, it's much better to just bring a medkit and smash gens, booning in general is just not worth the time.
Nerfing it further is just going to make it a meme like Self-Care was BEFORE it got nerfed again when it was already pretty bad.
-
I'm not sure how easy/difficult it would be to code in, but if unhook attempts are meant to be a last resort, and therefore not a penalty free DC, then allow the survivor in question attempt them only when everyone else is already downed, too far away to rescue on time (game reading 4m/s is not reaching a X m away hook that has X seconds left), if they have perks for it, etc.
Gotta say tho, I don't really blame those survivors either to be honest. Games are meant to be fun, being facecamped isn't, so it defeats the purpose of playing the game. Furthermore I don't understand why a killer would do it either because, like I said, they're effectively not playing the game, so what even is the point.
-
I'd make Boon: Dark Theory boost vaulting speed.

You are mistaken, crawling does not effect the bleedout, and its kind of slow to anyway, if anything I would think recovering should slow it by 0.75x but keep it 4 minutes so as to discourage slugging. Any lower and instead of being a way to meme around and not kill the survivors immediately (if on death hook) it will probably be used as a legitimate tactic
Yeah it's probably boring for you but if you think about it, you get to do more things than if you were on hook and your teammates can save you indefinitely until the bleedout timer is up
Damn, I would've sworn it ran out a bit faster when crawling
-
I like the idea of being mutated by a killer and slowly losing control of my own survivor until it's too late and it "dies" being overtaken by an AI. Sounds cool.
Talking about future chapters though, I think we're long overdue for a vampire, tho I might be biased because I just really like vampires lol.
-
@scoser said:
That's your first mistake, being nice. If it ain't a toxic SWF you're running into, it'll be an actual cheater warping across the map, blocking all hooks, being unhittable, etc. Treat survivors like how they treat you, because they deserve it.
Being toxic to toxic people isn't a solution, you're just lowering yourself to their level imo.

Bought this game when I lived overseas and when mixer was a thing. Ended up watching this guy who was brand new and offered to swf for help. Our group grew to a 4 man scattered on the east coast of America (except me)
2 years later I move back to the states (east coast as well) and the 4 of us rented a cabin that was roughly the same distance from all of us and we got to meet for the first time after roughly 3 years of playing everyday 🖤
Flash forward to now, they are still my besties. Many are now "uncles" to my new(ish)born, one is getting married where I will be attending etc etc.
We don't play this game anymore but I'm thankful I bought it at release for this
That's even more wholesome! Congrats on the new(ish) born!

One of my main friend groups online is because of DbD and a few of them were actually able to meet each other in person. I wasnt able to do it because of financial reasons, how ever things are going A LOT better and meeting in person isnt out of the question nowadays.
Ive also met plenty of other cool people while playing that I still talk to a bit on discord, and we some times play a few games
Part of me wants to get a tattoo of the DbD logo simply because of this. This game has made such a big impact on my life that I honestly dont know where Id be without it
That's wholesome.

Friends are what got me into the game in the first place.
None of them play anymore though. Most left around the time animations got updated and the last one standing (without counting me) left around the time DH made consoles crash.

I would not chase a survivor like that either, giving in and chasing them is what they want you to do.

The problem is, it's almost always brought up in the context of M1 Killers. "If it takes too long, go after someone else".
But it's taking too long because they don't have the tools to do anything about it. And then when they go after someone else, it's gambling entirely on finding a potato, because it'll be the exact same thing at another loop. If the too long on the first chase wasn't so long it's already enough to end the game--and since chases need to be 30-45s to stand much chance anyway, 30s before going after someone else and another 30s there could already be decisive.
That's not a time management problem, that's a balance problem.
You are right on that, no argument there. Some killers need updates.
-
@RainehDaze said:
"You can just go after someone else" continues to be the weirdest argument for why people should play Killers that can't compete in loops unless there's a catastrophic misplay. Assuming you wait long enough to find out you won't be winning this chase in a reasonable time, and not dumping every chase that goes somewhere unfavourable (which is also regularly criticised)
Like, what? Unless suicidal levels of altruism come into play, that's basically game ending, which kind of singles out how bad the time balance in the game is, where snowballs from rescues are the only thing that can balance out giving up a chase and then a normal chase time being long enough for a gen to complete.
So according to you, it's a bad thing that a killer gets punished by not managing their time effectively? 🙂
We're not entitled to have a 4k handed over to us. Mess things up and you lose. It happens to everyone.
-
No idea, but like you said it's in the to-do list so don't worry, it'll happen 👍️

then they should show the stats and everyone can shut up. just make the api and be done with it. idk why they haven't done this in the nearly 7 years this game has been around.
Agreed...

@Skill_issue said:
I mean hook suiciding is not penalized so why do we have to wait 4 minutes to bleed out if a killer doesnt want to hook the survivors?
I think it's likely they'll make a basekit feature tha'll prevent that at some point in the future. Someone above said basekit UB but I'm not sure if that's a thing, I'm a bit out of the loop these days.
Unlike a smart proxy camp or a necessary tunnel for whatever reason, slugging for THAT long is NEVER something that should happen in a match. When it happens it's just pure toxicity from the killer, unless you're too far from any hooks, that's literally the only scenario I can think of where a killer wouldn't be interested in picking you up.
Also if I'm not mistaken you bleed out faster while crawling, so keep moving if you're slugged.

Because however long you want to loop the killer as a survivor, the killer can only afford to loop you for 1/8th of that time, or they lose the game.
Anything more than about 30-45 seconds per chase is a lost game. Killer is literally based around making chases as short as possible.
The killer has four survivors to chase and loop 2-3 times each. You need to occupy yourself with something else for the 75% of the time you're not the target.
If all you want to do is loop the killer for 5 minutes, you go play another game then.
Right, so playing survivor just to hold a button on gens and then die in 30s is fun?
I play killer to chase, I play survivor to be chased. We have plenty of options for chases as a killer (powers), why should survivors(skins) be denied of the only thing they can do and not have a choice but to die after a preset ammount of time? Smh.
Not to mention if you get looped for too long it's your fault, you can literally just go after someone else, or like I said play another game, if you think you're entitled to have the game handed over to you.
Also, if someone here doesn't have fun chasing people, then maybe killer isn't for you? What else is there to even do lol.
-
This is just another example of how more often than not the whole outcome of a match is out of everyone's control and down to pure, rage inducing and frustrating RNG.
-
NOED and Sole Survivor.
-
I will never understand why people play killer just to -> not want to chase = actually play the game. <-
Like, go play another game, then.

Difference is though that Iron Will still functions completely fine as a stealth perk and a way to confuse the killer in chase provided you play a specific one or done use one at all. Ruin doesn’t even work as good regression when it’s only 100% speed and is a Hex.
No I didn't bother to be honest. Stealth overall isn't even worth trying most of the time, atleast not in my surv matches... wish it was though. I really do.

A useless perk?? You’re crazzyyy. It can easily be one of the strongest perks on a team of survivors.
Boon:
-Wastes gen time to set up.
-Wastes gen time due to your unwise backside running to the AoE to heal.
-Lets the killer know where you'll go to heal, should they want to come after you again.
-Did I mention it wastes a lot of gen time?
Medkits:
-Best item in the game.
-Readily available to everyone.
-Faster than CoH. Wastes less time. Sometimes it actually saves time.
-Multiple qualities and addons. Can literally heal mid-chase with green medkit and a decent loop.
-Killer won't know where you're healing.
-Can 99 the heal if you're running Resilience, or for play potential in certain situations.
I really don't understand why people complain about CoH when me, countless others and their mother have been exploiting the crap out of medkits for ages. I'm glad I mostly play Plague or Nurse with heal auras tbh.
But feel free to be vocal about CoH 😂
-
There is no point using a perk that's meant to mute noise if it DOESN'T actually mute noise. I still hear iron wills when I play killer.
-
I already see it as a useless perk, but considering Self-Care got nerfed when it was already ######### makes me think they might nerf CoH yet again lol.
