If it means getting a bunch of skins cheaper than buying individually then sure why not.
-
No. Just no. Big no. N. O.

Do whatever you want because no1 can force you to play like this or that but if you play like a douche you will be treated as such. That's criticism not salt.

Wait, Coconut said this? Or did he just post a video of someone else talking about this?
If it was Coconut.... I'm going to be surprised as trying to claim it's bannable to counter an insta kill addon with no hook states sounds a bit entitled in my opinion. Something I never associated him with.
The "it's bannable / an exploit" argument in my head sounds like this to me: Let me mori you! No! You can't jump into a locker, that isn't fair! I wanna kill you, Let me kill you! :'((((
No idea about Coconut, but a lot of streamers and content creators are double faced. Don't assume you know them just for what they post, I've been put VS some of them in the past and they've been entitled rude people on the post game chats or absolute BM's during the trial. Not saying they are bad people irl of course, but this game takes the worst out of a lot of people sometimes.
-
I mean yeah unless you goof around or get a competent SWF all games are 3-4k's. That's how the devs want it to be.
-
I think being able to vault faster without having had any sort of sprint beforehand is quite fair so good idea imo.

Imagine there was a global challenge that allowed everyone currently and after the event to use a snowman on anyone after the event if completed. That would be nuts and perfect for this change. Also funny story, I used a snowman to accidentally oust NOED and got away easy.
Lmao that Noed exposed itself π
-
@TAG said:
The only thing that they need to do to solve the issue created last year is simply make it so getting inside the snowmen does not create an additional bubble shield and also does not slow down the Survivor in any way. Now the snowman is just a goofy temporary cosmetic rather than one-time extra defense if timed correctly.
I don't have any problems with how it is right now but this isn't a bad idea either. Would be fun and goofy to run around as a snowman as a temporary cosmetic you can grab in a trial.
-
They're so greedy they didn't even bother making actual discounts for BF. Just 30% off of everything nobody wants lmao.

Because Survivor mains believe Killers exist to entertain them. You are supposed to let them feel the thrill of the chase for THEIR fun, and if you happen to down one you need to let them off the hook. Oh, and no going after the same person twice in a row.
Tunnelling? Scumbag killer.
Camping? Scumbag killer.
Regression perks so you don't lose all your gens in 2 minutes of chase time? Scumbag killer.
Literally ANYTHING that doesn't let a Survivor get chased for long periods of time = bad.
It's not about being a scumbag it's about going the easy route due to a lack of skill or bad game design.
Unless it's an endgame camp or some other justifiable reason then it's going to get you harsh criticism.
I have played like that in the past and it got me the same comments and I don't blame them, I got away with kills I didn't deserve.
Forgive me if I am mistaken but judging by your statement you don't sound like you play survivor very often either.
-
Love how people bring up Otz for medkits for example but when Otz makes a vid about how much killer sided the game is everyone takes it as a personal attack and trashtalks Otz.
As a reminder: The game is not meant to be balanced and it will never be. Devs are inflating kill rates over 60%+ just "cause", SWF will violate an average killer, etc. It's meant to be a casual assymetrical game. For what the game is the devs have done surprisingly well and they listen too. They literally listened to killers unconsciously whining about their own skill issues and buffed them to raise kill rates to give them free 3-4k's.
Now we complainin' about a medkit that can only be used after a survivor is hit BUT does not go down, how unfortunate! I think it would be a good strat to like, catch them instead? Or just let them waste the charges while they are healing and not doing anything useful while you go after someone else?
-
To be honest I think it's easier to ask what killers are actually fun to play against because most aren't lol.
Back in the day it was all fun and games but nowadays more than half of the time it's all about survivors holding W and that ain't fun for them.
At some point the line between countering loops and just outright denying them was crossed and the game's fun for the survivor side hasn't recovered since then.
Asides from that there's also just bad design overall which is why Freddy or Legion are so boring as well.

Meanwhile it doesn't seem like they would ever add a woman as old as Ace or Vittorio (physically speaking).
True. They're all young looking some even have baby faces lol.
-
I'd buy it without second thoughts if it wasn't for the fact that Vittorio is an old grandpa with wrinkles and white hair.
I want more young males, we have enough "maduritos" as it is, and I feel like I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Escaping in Solo Q is pretty rare, I'd say I escape like 1 out of 4 or even 5 matches. Won't really matter if people leave early or get tunneled to #########, I don't expect escaping either way. Also it's not very common to see people DC in my survivor matches atleast, though some do when it's a Nurse or a tryhard on blight or something similar as they're probably better off going next than staying and being less efficient in farming bp.
In general if I had to take a guess I'd say the Solo Q playerbase escapes 40 to 30% of the time and it's probably getting lower day by day judging by how they're starting to slowly buff survivor stuff .
It's a bit of a red flag that, as some people have pointed out, survivors just don't expect to escape in Solo Q and prioritize bp gains.
Also the times I do escape, it's quite common to see other survivors trashtalk the killer for losing which doesn't help toxicity in the game.
And, as a side note, it's not very fun to sit in queue for 2 years as killer to find a match due to how crappy playing survivor is atm.
-
My survivor queues are shorter than my ex's pp.
My killer queues are so long that by the time I find a match someone somewhere in the world had time to graduate high school, go to university, get a bachelor's, a post-graduate, a P.h.D, marry, have children despite the state of the economy and find out the meaning of life.
Please tell us your secret.

Doesn't matter what role I'm playing I don't like the map at all.

Both sides have people with irrational takes so I'm unsure what the point of your thread is.

Pretty sure it wasn't an actual nerf, just made it so that people can't abuse it to hold someone hostage on hook for trolling purposes.
-
Extremely undeserved nerf, it was fine as it was.
I really do believe they just pulled out the nerf out of nowhere because of botany which is stupid because then people would be dedicating 2 perk slots just to heal which should reward them with a shorter heal so I don't really see the problem.
-
Dead by Daylight is Pay to Skip, Pay for Convenience and it is definetly trying to rip off your pockets in a predatory way that hardly seems legal, but it's not pay to win.
Still, it takes a ridiculous amount of time to unlock what you want without pulling out your wallet, and a lot of things are extremely overpriced.
Biggest flaw is The Shrine of Secrets. I really don't know who thought it was a good idea to just have 4 perks each week in there. Just let people buy the perks they want/need, if they have the shards for it they've already spent time farming. As it is right now it's just another incentive to force people to pull out the wallet again.
-
She's fine as she is. I definetly don't main her and my opinion is totally not biased.π
-
In my opinion and based on how I play as survivor:
First off learn how to manage exhaustion. A lot of people don't learn this for some reason and rely on exhaustion perks that have counterplay or have some condition that must be met before they can be activated and convince themselves that those perks are better.
Then equip SB and WoO. SB is a one tap distance maker and will save your life a lot when you know how to use it, and there's nothing the killer can do about it. With experience you can bait m1's with it, kill Legion's power and do some other cool things with it. WoO is not really good at the start but as the trial progresses and people start wasting pallets you'll see what is left standing and where to go. Also good for learning where stuff is on unfamiliar maps or if you're not good at pathing.
Lightweight got buffed and can mess a bit with the killer's tracking if you're in an indoor map.
If managing exhaustion is a problem for you try Lithe, which is a SB that activates whenever you fast vault. Just keep in mind it's more of a temporary bandaid fix and you won't always have a vault near. Learn exhaustion management asap.
Iron Will used to be good but it got nerfed to the ground so if you're interested in stealthing a smart play mid chase you could try Parental Guidance, but you must get a stun first. Not too good on it's own, but there aren't that many good on their own chase perks right now.
If you want to dissapear after having been chased for some time and getting injured Lucky Break will make you vanish into thin air, just don't forget you're still making noise and have to maintain a certain distance from the killer or they'll find you again through their hearing. If this is something that appeals to you, you can drop SB and combo this with Overcome.
Q&Q is pretty good and quite underrated. You can fast vault or get in lockers quickly to dissapear. Handy in situations like dodging a static blast or hiding after messing with LOS against an average or bad killer. It counters I'm all Ears, too. Sucks abit that it has a 20s cooldown, but still it's not that bad. Makes T and L mindgames a bit easier as well, although they're still pretty much a coin toss.
If you're confident about making it to the endgame and if you get tunneled often adrenaline is a total braingasm. Instant health state, 5 second SB. On top of that if you were the person doing the gen, you can activate SB right before finishing it and then stacking it with adrenaline to run even faster to the gate or to find the NOED quickly.
Hope is pretty nice, endgame only though.
Blood Pact is another speed boost that you get after healing or being healed by the obsession and having that player within 16m of you. Not a bad pick for SWF where coordination is a lot easier.
Last but not least, combo'ing vigil with self-aware and SB will make your exhaustion management easier and will also result in more SB's per match. I do not do this since I do not own Vigil yet however, and it's pretty perk slot intensive.
Other than all these, not much else comes to mind at the moment. Hope it helps.

My account isn't fresh and I 4k a lot too, and I'm not a god or anything. The game rewards you for playing dirty when you start losing, which it really shouldn't. It ends up being pretty boring to the point that Solo Q feels more fun to me (and saves you time you would've wasted deleting -reps for playing like a scumbag), despite Solo Q being the most tilting and weakest role by far.
When going against a SWF a 4k isn't as likely but pulling out the dirty card still guarantees atleast one kill, and probably some steam notifications or endgame chat salt.
There was also an experiment made by a CC where at high MMR they afk'd for 30s at the start, used no perks or addons, played 50 matches or so of every killer and still won most of the games just by playing like a total sewer pipe. That says quite a bit in my opinion.
So yeah despite what some might say you're going to 4k more often than not when playing killer. Right now the game isn't very favourable to survivors just like it wasn't very friendly to the killer back in the old days of old DS and double shack windows (just to put a tame example to keep our sanity). I guess we'll see how it plays out in the next update with the survivor buffs.
Also as a side note let me thank you for actually playing both roles I feel like a lot of people don't do that. π
-
I don't think experienced survivors find it fun to just be around m1 gens or have their chase be dropped for a weak link and then wait for everyone to die to get hatch just because they're good (and that bush Claudette with high MMR definetly isn't good). They'll go for saves and they'll go down on purpose to protect tunneled teammates and they'll hook trade if necesary because this is a game and we're all supposed to be able to actually play and interact with the other survivors and the killer.
Also just a reminder that the killer can of course find hatch first, slug for 4k, have the doors spawn next to each other, etc.
I'll also say that everyone is/can be frustrated, not just survivors, because most people, if not everyone, play both sides, and both sides can feel like garbage. "Git gud" arguments for Solo Q only go so far. Skill more often than not doesn't guarantee an escape as survivor, and someone's skill, by itself, won't always get them a win because they rely on the map having good resources to use. A pro survivor is still a dead survivor if they don't have anything good to loop. That's why killers hunt weak links and hook them in dead zones whenever they're able. Stealth in those situations is also barely a temporary coping mechanism and it won't work half the time and when it does it's not a permanent solution. Also killers tend to complain when survivors hide because it's not fun.
Anti-loops also exist and holding W isn't very skillfull either.
Also let's not forget that a killer can be completely screwed when a map just has a lot of loops chained up together. So sometimes the "git gud" for killers doesn't always apply either. In conclusion, and in my opinion of course, at this point "git gud" is just an endgame chat insult with little to nothing to back it up. The game and the matches overall are too random to have proper game balance and a solid spot for player skill, which I think is the source of a lot of salt. People more often than not, regardless of role played at that time, just feel out of control of what's happening.
-
Anyone who says he's fine needs a reality check, sorry to say. He's weak, and yet he's very annoying. Throw in ricochet addons and suddenly he's a 1v1 god that will kill you just by throwing knives at a wall, and might still just lose because a grandma on a wheelchair gets around the map faster than he does. Overall just a failure in design.

In my honest, humble, non dev opinion:
Killers mmr should look at the number of kills, the order in which you hooked survivors and the time between each hook.
Survivors mmr should look at how many out of a team of 4 managed to escape, not if you individually escaped or died because you claudete'd your way out or died being altruistic. Have the quantity (negative or positive) be distributed based on how much stuff each survivor did in a match, and throw a bonus for overworked roles (if some1 got tunneled and couldn't do gens, if some1 was the "healer" and was constantly saving and healing, etc).
I don't see how this is that hard to implement. It's definetly clear that as things are right now, nothing is really working properly, which is imo a big source of all the salt, frustration, anger and entitlement we all have to deal with when playing the game.
A 100% perfect system is impossible, but if we had something akin to this I believe the game would be much more enjoyable and salt-free.

Sprint Burst for survivor.
Nurse's Calling for killer.
-
Old sprint Burst on a 20s cooldown that recovered while running. I wasn't around at that time but watching old YouTube videos makes my jaw drop to the ground.
-
Couldn't agree more. This is one of those things I think about when I'm frustrated at the devs just to calm down. π
-
Yes.
I have my own personal set of rules/reasons for this though, so it's not always.
Big factors include: that person bringing a huge mutliplayer BP offering, being left behind when they CARRIED the other survivors or doing that silly item trade thingie next to a gate without hiding, idk i find that cute.
I never expect to get hatch as survivor though, I usually get very rude or just sweaty killers ( no hate on the sweaty ones) for some reason.
-
When the meta changing update went live.
I play Solo Q and everyone was just killing themselves on hook. I don't remember numbers but in 2 or 3 days I didn't escape once.
-
If they throw the game just to do it, they're either salty or just bad at the game in general. Probably both.
If a situation arises (cuz game design...) where doing it is the best play, they should do it. In those situations as unfun as it might be for most survivors, they have to deal with it.
I think the problem is that some people have very questionable perceptions on when these situations actually take place.
I will also say though, that the people who do indeed throw just to make the match unfun for others (i say others and not just survivors because they too can throw to make the game unfun) deserve the -reps they get.

Why are my teammates all cleansing less than 30 seconds into a match?
Like... what is the excuse here? There is no Thana, and two of you aren't even Broken yet.
How is common sense so hard to come by in this game?
Probably because they're not very smart or they're the type of survivor that panics when they're missing health ( no offense). Usually both are one and the same.
I won't lie, you have every right to be angry at them. I have a friend that just started playing and his first game was a Plague. He cleansed once and saw she got stronger for doing it and immediately stopped doing it without me telling him anything beforehand. He said, and i quote: She got that red puke because I healed on the water? (Me: Yeah) Guess im not doing that anymore, i think it's better if i force her to hit me close and not vomit on me from far away.
So yeah even atleast some new players know they shouldn't do that on their first plague game ever :|

I'd say that'd be fair. Would still have a speed penalty just like a kick provides.
I agree. Thinking about it makes me wonder how it's not already a thing to be honest.

I agree with ZVom, total BP in a match should have a limit, but the categories should not be capped.
