The cheater problem is substantial. Unfortunately, DbD has reached a point where it's big enough that cheaters become endemic and it doesn't help that historically they weren't ever been dealt with effectively.
Just one note, keep in mind that hackers can insta heal other players as well. So, don't jump to conclusions about someone who's suddenly up a health state, because it might've not been their doing.
-
For Nurse, it's not gonna make a ton of difference. The learning curve to Nurse is intrinsic to the character itself. You might be able to kill very basic survivors who run in a straight line in the open when you're a beginner Nurse yourself, but that's not gonna do you much good at all.
Better to just be thrown into more realistic trials from the get-go. Focus on learning, don't get stressed out about winning. Learning Nurse is a marathon, not a sprint.

What’s the point? If they just run to the exit border and you down them there they immediately crawl out while you deal with hit recovery.
I suppose it might work in borderline siituations where egc is about to expire and they can't repel in time. So, the killer just waits for auto sacrifice. But, yeah, as you point out, it would be very marginal.

Thanks for that. I have been trying to days, it feels damn near impossible. I wish the consoles would let them change it. Killers just arent nice. It sucks I need to sandbag my team and hope they die at the end.
Is there a name I can change to on steam that might let killers know what I am doing?
Makes me not wanna bother with the others since I know I wont get this one, might give up
It's probably better to attempt this one when you can be in a 4-man swf. Go to a large map, take note if you got favorable gate spawns, have your teammates throw the game in the end and die as far as possible from the last gen that you will leave 99'd (it's better if they stand still on the ground to get crows if the killer slugs for the 4k). Hide a couple of tiles away from the gen until the last teammates is hooked. When the hatch icon appears, pop the gen and run away with poised. Try the build I posted above.
-
The hack does exist, unless it's been patched in the last two months. It's not very common in my experience. I'm positive I've encountered it no more than 3 times.
With that being said, it has not to be confused with validation. The visual and audio fx of a hit will always play out if the Killer clients detects a hit, but the server has the last word and it will roll back if the hit invalidated. This happens legitimately without hacks involved.
-
To be optimal, you will have to juggle gens with your build and teleport while you deplete resources in chases that you're going to not commit to in order to prevent gen pops. Against good survivors, it's going to be a war of attrition where you snowball late game. You're also going to make a lot of fake teleports (more on why later as I go over the builds).
When you're at a loop, you put a snare behind you as you moonwalk following the survivor. The snare should be preferably on the opposite end of the loop from the pallet. But don't delay putting one down to find the perfect spot, you want that pallet down asap. If they loop, they run into the snare and they'll get hit. The counter to him is to pre-drop and hold W. For windows, don't put the snare too close, or it won't prevent a fast vault. At maze tiles, put a snare on the normal pathing, generally at bottlenecks. You can also use your teleport to cut off a shift w gamer, or bait it to make them run back into you.
Perks: ruin (essential), surveillance or tinkerer (essential, preferably the former, where the former is sort of a inferior version).
Then, choose from: undying, haunted, brutal, or something endgame like no way out.
Remember that survivors can't crouch over snares, so you can put them down at totems to alert you of cleansing.
I said you're going to fake teleport a lot, even in chase. Be sure to 99 the fake. This will push survivors off the gen triggering ruin and surveillance giving you intel on gen progress and to where you have to rotate to. It also gets them on their toes because they might overcommit when you do actually tp.
Add-ons: the best ones are the dream protection cooldown, optional with the paint brush, because you want to teleport often. The pill bottle is kinda decent because it gives you some stealth for cheeky hits. Extra regression penalty is ok-ish but not great, it gets them if they try to wake themselves up by failing skill checks, which could happen also unintentionally when you teleport.
Dream pallets: use only for memes.
For the rest, his ability is not that great in chase. It allows him to kinda brute force through pallets, which is what you want to do, but it doesn't cut the chase short. You're really going to have to play the macro game against good survivors.

I got it twice after killers went afk.
Allegedly, it's bugged and it triggers also when you simply complete any gen after everyone is dead, not necessarily the last gen.
I don't have proof that it's true, but if you're achievement hunting and you're the last survivor, it's worth a shot.
The build I suggest is poised, wake up, spine chill, and adren or an exhaustion perk for mid trial. Honorable mention to calm spirit and urban evasion as well, to not scare those crows in endgame. A medkit is a good idea in general, but especially if you don't bring adren.
Pop the gen and book it to a door. If it wasn't the last one, you will have to wait for the killer to close the hatch. If they have No Way Out, you can thank bhvr for nerfing this achievement even more. Prep the door before popping the first red light, then finish when the killer rotates.
Good luck.

Because the Doc thought he was a giga Chad for going to medical school, yet killers and survivors know goddamn right who's the real boss who runs this show.

Exhaustion which only happens if they have an exhaustion perk. Other times they can just keep running if they don't hold exhaustion perks or at least don't use them much such as head on
Which also means that they're already slower than the killer.
-
I don't know how much say the license holders have on this, but BBQ is probably a lead reason for DLC sales. So, I'd imagine the wouldn't be too thrilled.
You could potentially do the change for WGLF. Except, there would be a killers' riot if the doing the same with BBQ wasn't possible.
-
Killers are already faster than survivors. In DbD, the stamina bar already exists and it's called exhaustion.
-
These two perks combined lead to very powerful combination, regardless of which killer you play
You almost had me. Well done, OP. Seems like everybody jumped the gun and fell for the bait. 9/10

Way to dodge the problems I brought up with your idea.
I'm not dodging the problem. I'm dodging the person incapable of civil and polite conversation about said problem, or any other given their forum track record.
My advice didn't change, have fun.

It's not that easy:
- What if the Survivor is using the item at time of death/escape? What if you're using my toolkit when I die? Do you now suddenly stop having a toolkit? What if you're saboing a hook as I die? Nope! No saving your friend! What if you're blinding a Killer with my flashlight to save your friend when I exit the gates? Oops! No more blind! Using my medkit and I left/died? No more healing!
- White Ward NEVER protected items on the ground. Ever. Which means people are whining that White Ward is not doing what it never did. #########?
I love when people with no idea how coding works tries to claim 'This is so easy to code!' just by looking at the end result.
It's like looking at your car and saying 'I could build this myself!' because you can't see all the tiny, moving pieces that have to work together or the engine will seize up.
Name checks out. Go for a walk and chill out. Have fun.
-
It's an interaction that should've been fixed with Franklin's rework. But in bhvr fashion, it's not a priority.
The item and add-ons should despawn upon death or escape and be refunded, regardless of their location at that point in time, i.e. on the ground or in another survivor's hands (if the latter, it could be made so they see it highlighted as a restricted item like a flashbang).
The worst part is that is very easy to code as all those effects already exist separately.
-
I always praised that perk. It's more for soloq after beginner's phase is over. But it's well-designed imho, except that it should be in the base game and not dlc.
-
It's old Ormond with a better main building.

- LoPro
- Boots
- Carburetor
- Gloves
The bottom two are debatable.

So, the solution to face camping is to skip directly to death so you don'tneed to stand at the hook. Based.
-
So, you play survivor because killers are weak... but you face killers that are too strong...? Seems like roles are not the problem, but rather you need to git gud across the board.

I wasn't referring to actual ongoing lawsuits, because I don't know if there are any. I meant that they are inevitable.
-
Propnight is getting sued into oblivion. It's also a buggy exploity mess and a griefer's heaven.
Vhs doesn't really play like dbd. I'd say it's actually very shallow imho. Maybe it'll get more interesting after the beta.
-
I can't really watch the video right now. If anyone can post a tl;dw it'd be much appreciated.
For the rest, I think removing hook grabs and interrupts would probably solve 90% of the facecamping issue. If unhooks worked like fast vaults at windows (i.e. no channeling the action, they don't allow grabs and once the action is queued up it cannot be reset), then killers could still easily get the 1 for 1, but not free pressure by threatening the 2 for none or simply stalling the save.
It would be very much in line with what they said about nerfing facecamping but not proxy'ing.
Leatherface would still pose a problem, because he won't be able to stop the unhook anymore, but he can shred through BT. That would have to be addressed on the killer specifically.
@Zozzy said:
Do you ever play killer? I find it so hard to believe you do beyond a random farm match for a daily where you let everyone live...
OP is far from being a survivor main. They've been on the forum for quite some time and they've very much advocated for killer buffs for just about everything. This is actually the first subject I can remember where I see them taking the survivor side.

I'm not trying to favor one side over the other either, I just think that the current EGC dynamic doesn't feel that great when people are just 99'ing the gate which is basically an open gate but with no EGC.
Yet, your reasoning keeps hammering on the fact that 99'ing the gate doesn't allow you to benefit from EGC pressure, even though EGC isn't implemented to give pressure. It only does so as a byproduct.
Here's the thing: 99'ing does favor the killer. Pre-EGC implementation, the gates would be open and survivors could walk out unimpeded whenever. Now, running to a 99'd gate while being chased can get them killed. So, see, the thing you're complaining about was effectively a buff in your favor. You just want more.
-
Given that you want to play all the perks at the one gen and you want actual regression with no hex rng, you're not left with many choices.
Eruption is manageable on Wraith, because he's so mobile. It doesn't really matter if it messes with aura. You want to go where the gen is being worked, quickly prep and chase after that. I wouldn't pair it with Oppression, because that perk is really underwhelming. You're better off breaking out the good ol' Overcharge. Still kinda sucky, but unironically it has better potential and if they mess up the skill check, then it does tell you where to go.
This combo won't work as well on Legion, because they benefit more from passive effects, such as Ruin for regression, or Thana for slowdown. However, given what you're looking for, there's not much else to pick from.
Other than that, slap Jolt and Pain Resonance and you're good to go.
-
If you get a down on a healty survivor in 15 sec with the Artist, it's more of a case of them being illiterate to the point of being unable to find the W key on their keyboards, it's got nothing to do with LP.
-
It's legal. So, unequivocally not griefing.
If they're bled out in a situation where they can easily get hooked, then it's just a case of the killer wasting their own time. I suggest watching Youtube during the wait. There's nothing worse for a douchebag to try being a douche and nobody caring.
-

-
My take is that they're openly allowed and prohibiting them would be effectively unenforceable when not outright breach of contract (e.g. conosoles).
So, my further take is to give solos a surrogate of comms in the form of chat wheel/pre-made and some basic info and then balance the game around that.
-
I'm not sure if you're looking at only easy to pick up, or to get very good at, or something else. I'll give you a few choice with reasoning to help you decide.
From the base game: Wraith, followed by Billy (he's actually easy, although not fully effective, to use at base if you stick to the chainsaw mostly for mobility at the beginning).
Killers that you can buy for shards: Legion. Very good choice to learn the fundamentals of killers and they are bloodpoint magnets, but they're weak once you start going against better survivors. If you're rather looking for a strong killer who's easy-ish to pick up, but that you can grow with, choose Plague. Bonus: has two very good perks. Or Blight, which is one of the strongest killers when mastered and easy to play suboptimally still.
Best choice overall, but you have to buy with real money: Leatherface. Slap Bamboozle on this bad boy and you can have your brain removed while still winning consistently. Mega bonus: he ships with BBQ for those sweet bloodpoints.
-
That's probably something that they could introduce with Jonah's archives.
-
The antidote is very finnicky to balance. Without a delay, it would be very broken as you would've instant bloodlust on demand by simply throwing a bottle at your feet, plus your pink bottles at survivors. It would remove any setup requirements.
I think a better buff that could be experimented with would be to remove invigoration affecting survivors or separate ammo count (the latter is never happening because the devs said it would overcomplicate the UI).
-
@Anniehere said:
It's can be useful if the game is intense. When Survivors are getting down fast, Undying and BBQ is working well for the killer etc.
I will use it instead of Distortion if i came up with a good build idea.
Aura reading is not that problematic after unhooks. Undying is always the first totem to go down and generally doesn't survive early game. Bbq can be played around without much trouble if the survivor desires to stay hidden.
The issue is that OTR is objectively a worse IW. If it granted broader stealth effects for the limited period of time it's active, I could see it being worth the slot. But as it is, IW wins every time.

Hag is a fantastic killer and the only one I like to play as and against. She is the only true tactical killer in this game where you win with your brain.
There are plenty of killers that require tactical acumen and brain power, even more so when they're not as strong as hag. Downplaying the thought requirements of playing other killers is a very ignorant statement that stems from being a one-trick pony blinded by their own fandom.

The other day when I was playing plague 5 gens spawned on one side of the map... so agreed
Yes, 5 gens are possible on Suffo. I recently saw a match of DbD League where there was one on the side of main building.
It's possible on Azarov as well. Although, there seems to be a very high rate of 4-gens on that map.
-
While I agree with the general sentiment expressed in the title, except for the word 'abused', that's not how you play a killer-sided map like Suffo.
You pick one side of the map and you lock it down.
Which brings me to the next point. Just as a map shouldn't have such strong area for survivors, it shouldn't also spawn with two 3-gens, one of which is often a 4-gen even.
Bad map design goes both ways.
-
I will keep saying that because you have no authority over my right to express my opinions.
