Nurse is basic attack, because her power is exclusively movement. She does a regular attack after.
Blight attack is special, because he attacks WITH the Lethal Rush.
Spirit/Wraith also only move with their power, before doing a regular attack.
Huntress/Nemesis/Trickster/Plague is attacking WITH the power. Deathslinger only pulls them in, and then does a regular attack. The harpoon itself is not an attack.
Surge shouldn't have a basic attack cooldown. Infectious is balanced, including on killers that can chain-down easily.
It has been nothing BUT consistent.
It's not always consistent actually. It's just dictated by practical reasons, which is not a bad thing in and of itself.
Spirit has a speed boost after reappearing with a duration which is dictated by her power. Add-ons can modify that and add-ons affect POWERS.
Wraith, similarly, has a speed boost that is dictated by his power. He even slow downs below 115 when uncloaking and then accelerates BECAUSE of his power.
The biggest offender is probably Myers, as he literally has a different lunge because of his T3.
Nurse is an oddball, because otherwise she wouldn't be able to use basic attacks essentially. But in between blinks she's arguably in her power and she will eventually fatigue. She's almost as if a Blight could pull off a basic attack during a slam. It's not like a Hag, where she teleports and then she's done. I guess she's in one of those situations that could be interpreted either way.

The wiggle bar gets yellow also if you hit great skill checks with the beta wiggle feature. The auto wiggle out at about 75% (80% is more like it) happens if the killer tries to drop at that point.
What you witnessed does look suspicious, but without video it's not conclusive.
-
Insta down killers are penalized in the chaser emblem.
There are also other considerations. Kills alone do not equal emblems. You need to perform certain tasks. Look in the tally screen what emblems you were lacking and take that into account in subsequent games if you care about pipping.

I understand your point, but I would say that whilst time played is pretty much the deciding factor in the end of season grade rewards - more time, the more chance for a higher grade etc. How you play also plays a part, as otherwise you could just go into the match as a survivor, not do anything at all for the entire match, die and get a pip - should that be rewarded with a pip that progresses you and adds to the end of season grade rewards?
I don't think so, and I'm speaking from my personal opinion as a player here.
No. I clearly said you shouldn't depip, as it was the point of this thread. Black pipping should be the default if the grades are to be representative of time played. As it is now, the system is inconsistent with its purported function.
Pippiping up will still be tied to how one's play.
That's my whole argument. I've got nothing more to add, as this is probably not a priority for the team, considering your earlier reply makes it fairly clear they're ok with the current implementation.
-
@Mandy said:
My personal opinion is that you have not done enough in the match to earn a pip - depipping is completely fine.
Yes being camped and your team mates not helping can suck, but that's generally considered to be part of the game and there are perks to help with that - Borrowed Time for example.
(and I'm speaking from a position where I get hard camped and mori'd a lot!)
You did not do enough to pip because the game design and the emblems are flawed.
If grades are to be representative of time played more than anything, then it's inconsistent that we could still depip on either role. Even more so when there's little a single player can do to survive a facecamp.
I understand you're not completely free to talk, because you still need to push the team's line.
But coming in here and telling us that getting punished by the game itself because you get facecamped is totally fine is the best way to alienate the players' sympathies.

It was so easy for me to tell when she was vaulting and I didn’t even play back then lol.
No, you couldn't tell because she didn't have any visible animation, she just appeared on the other side when completed. It was designed to be that way. Of course, it was more powerful because she could've been phasing as well back in the days, but it was still a stand still 'mindgame' even when she didn't.

It's hilarious to me. All the people who said they hated hit and run. Until they found out they hated tunneling and camping more. Because spreading pressure just wasn't/isn't a winning way to play in the boon meta
I don't get the connection. You hit'n'run until you get a down. You camp and tunnel after you already have got one. The two tactics are not mutually exclusive.
It's not like tunneling and camping weren't prevalent before coh. If anything, most complaints about a surge of hardcore camptunnels were being spoken about with the introduction of mmr, not boons.

Sure but when I can play an entire night of killer and never lose a game, why would I assume I am at a low MMR? I watched someone go on a 100+ streak with clown like 2 weeks ago, are they low MMR? I would say they are at the cap. I read you only need 20 wins in a row to get to the cap, it's not that difficult to get to.
It's gonna vary by region, but if you carefully choose the time when to play, you can literally get baby survivors in most of your games as matchmaking becomes open wide. For example, for NA East, it's generally at nighttime.
Zubat will straight up tell you to play killer at night for easy chill games, if you ask him in chat (again, it's gonna vary by region).
The opposite is also true, i.e. if you play at certain times you're more likely to be matched against strong players.

You worded it well. It's me who was double checking.
It's a nice suggestion, hopefully it gets implemented.

So, if I understand correcty, this would change only the part when the cloud is white, but then it would still turn yellow when it activates?
I think it could work. It sounds promising.

Just because you dont believe my outcome dont mean it's a lie, you're basically saying anything you disagree with is a lie. Making everything a pointless discussion with you.
And yes I dont believe solo Q needs a buff, I listed the issues with it and none of those are gonna be fixed by the buffs everyone wants such as built in perks or coms.
And no every time I make a post that isnt your experience you try belittle it. None of your comments have ever added to the posts you just call people liars or assume.
you're basically saying anything you disagree with is a lie
No, I'm saying I suspect you're lying about numbers to fit an agenda.
And yes I dont believe solo Q needs a buff
Well, at least you admit to that.
And no every time I make a post that isnt your experience you try belittle it.
I have no clue again what you're blabbering about. I don't follow you around on the forum. I referenced you in this thread because you literally made similar claims in another thread recently. Maybe don't spam the same suspicious argument in instances so close together and I wouldn't have noticed.
None of your comments have ever added to the posts you just call people liars or assume.
Never happened. Strawmen again.

Yeah god forbid someone has a different opinion or experience to you. Sorry I wont lie and twist things to suit a single side.
Nothing I said in this post was wrong, probably why instead of debating a topic you always result to being a meme.
I'm not questioning the difference of your experience. I'm questioning its authenticity. Starting with your highly suspicious claim of having an escape rate in soloq of 72.5% 142/200.
Twisting and lying to suit a narrative is exactly what I suspect you're doing, specifically to argue against any sort of soloq buffs.
And I don't even know what you're blabbering about being a meme, let alone always. You should rather focus on yourself resorting to that kind of strawmen, which ironically highlights your attempt to weasel out of debating that you subcounsciously projected on me instead.
-
You're really pushing too hard on this narrative. It was debatable in the first thread, but now you're overplaying your hand.
-
EGC is no different than any other phase of the trial. It's supposed to ensure the end of the match, not to favor either side.
Your perks don't get disabled by egc, just like theirs. They get disabled when the conditions are met.
Play appropriately for the situation. You have an insta down, go for the unhooker.

I remember that time when I was Freddy and I saw 4 auras during the initial camera pan out. On Cowshed. And I had burned a streamer. Good times.

I don’t think the devs or anyone from BHVR would respond to this as they don’t openly want to promote changing game files.
Many of the settings in that file are changeable through the in-game menu after all and there are very likely reasons why the other settings are left out from there.
The config file can be changed. There was an update a long time ago where they removed the features they didn't want to be messed with and then they did another fix shortly thereafter, because they had accidentally locked the ability to turn off antialiasing and they re-enabled that.
EAC, or any other anti cheat, doesn't check the config file nor does have a reason to. The actual cheats are done by editing the pak files and that will get one banned eventually.

Assuming you're going against good survivors, obviously the 3 meta killers get emblems very easily.
Then less strong, but with good powers for pipping, Huntress, Demo, Pyramid Head and even Deathslinger.
Legion and Doc are pip machines against mediocre competition, but you risk getting steamrolled against better survivors.

I don't understand the argument of "A lot of BP means the match was good", like no? Most Killers get a lot of Bloodpoints just by using their Power a lot, Demogorgon being one of them.
Also, see how the Survivor that brought the Map Offering is the one that had the least amount of Bloodpoints?
Survivors who bring Map Offerings, especially Survivor-Sided Maps like Coldwind, are the ones with the highest chance of killing themselves if something doesn't go their way.
Without any further context, what I think happened was:
Demogorgon gets 3 Stacks of Devour Hope around the time 3-4 Generators get finished, downs the Survivor with the Map Offering, and then they sacrifice themselves.
The remaining Survivors cleanse the Devour Hope and get a 3E
The argument never was "good" game. It was literally about "destroyed", in your post just like in my reply to it. You're moving the goal post.
The bp score shows that there was interaction, not even Doc or Legion, let alone Demo, can make that much without getting something going.
All the rest are conjectures on your part. I can make up some my own. Devour gets cleansed early and Demo decides to facecamp and tunnel the dead guy. While the others do their best to go for altruism.
See, conjectures. Just as good as any.
-
I tried to install fear 2.0 beta in desensitized gamers who've played this game for hundreds or thousands of hours, but the version doesn't seem compatible.
-
Her power is essentially move very fast and try to track the survivors. Assuming this was a bot, the movement and tracking are already covered by bhvr's code. In the most basic cases, the hackers just enhance the sound for the bot to use. At the extremes, you have the situation in the OP.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
All I'm seeing is a poor Demogorgon got absolutely destroyed thanks to the Survivor meta
I see a 24k bp Demo and a 7k bp dead survivor. Someone got absolutely destroyed, but it wasn't the Demo who's running top tier add ons but gamble perks.
With that being said, I disagree with OP overall.
-
Too much cuteness <3

Dead Hard is already nerfed. Validation has been shadownerfed. I've literally downed people mid animation and saw others slide on the floor. We're back at the same situation as before.
Red stain is balance mechanic, it can't be removed without a game overhaul.

I do use Corrupt/Deadlock as well.
Then you're fully ascended. I was just pointing out that Noed+nwo on their own are unlikely to do much. But make a full build around it and apply the proper macro strategy and you can force a 2k. Epitome of balance.

just a thought
Just by the sheer amount of dc's and suicide on hooks, I don't know how the percentage doesn't get dragged down more. Add to that all the Blights and Nurses going full meta.
Maybe I'm just unlucky in my region.
Oh, btw, I have a 99.9% escape in soloQ. Source: trust me bro.
-
Generally, I ignore them unless a chase leads me there.
-
Technically you should use a combo like Corrupt+deadlock to go along Noed+NWO. Just sayin'.
They don't even have to give you 1 down let alone a hit, but they do just to toy with you and give you hope, like a cat playing with his food. They can be godlike and go all out, be godlike and screw around, or just be mediocre because they still have absolute control over the match.
Can I get those survivors in soloQ, please? Thanks.
@MilManson said:
I've started doing a "SWF killer" build on Nemesis, NOED, Blood Warden, Knockout and Corrupt with the addons where zombies move at 150% speed when generators are done and 50% faster passively + respawn in the exit gates.
I've had the gate open in my face with two zombies inside it and they went to town on the survivors and then while knockout is still active you get blood warden up and quickly hook the downed survivors in the exit gate.
Really fun.
Knockout is irrelevant against SWF. You're using a soloQ killer build.
-
Yes, the chat was correct. Additional detail, it doesn't affect only blinks that are at full charge, simply because that's the intended speed at full charge/max range. But on all shorter blinks she'll still move at that mach speed, which is the bug.

It's more funny. Because it's normally the opposite of what actually happens. "Artist is OP !!!" Which yes, ok. The bird bombs were broken. But her power really never was.
But everyone thought blight would be trash. But here we are. People realizing what blight can do.
Blight was actually bad in the PTB. His collision was clunky and too wide catching random hitboxes constantly. It was fixed at release and he's received several buffs since. There's really no hindsight there.
-
I guess I'll play survivor until I get the Triage achievement. Not really trying to force it, just playing until it's done. But for as much as I'm bored of killer, it's not worth the aggravation of playing too much survivor.
-
There's no hint that they intend to nerf Nurse and Blight is already complained about anyway.
-

Why is this so surprisingly common? Someone complaining how unfairly hard the game is on killer, then putting up a screenshot showing they got 3+ kills.

But it was actually an accurate analogy. All he said was that hockey players who win games tend to also be good players so winning games is a good statistical proxy for skill. Which is totally true.
It's a terrible analogy. Hockey players alone don't win games. Teams do.
Talent scouts aren't going to ignore good players only because they happen to have teammates who suck.

This hockey dead horse is so dumb. People act like the dev said DbD and hockey are literally the same thing when all he did was make a simple analogy. And it was a very bad analogy.
Coming from the most senior dev.
And it was never retracted.
And it failed to address the feedback about mmr.
While highlighting the disconnect between devs and community.
Of course, the community are going to cling to it. And with every right to do so.
