It's likely the case that the botting problem has an easy fix, it's just BHVR's schedule means we have to wait until a future update for it to be fixed.
What's interesting to me though, is the fact that from what I know - the bots are entirely BHVRs creation with minor tweaks from the people who make cheating software meaning that BHVR failed to implement any security checks to stop them from being used in actual matches like this

For survivor: Renewal
Getting it to activate can be a real pain sometimes and against some killers like plague it's a dead perk but outside of that, not having to worry about being healed off the hook is such a good feeling. It can also help with tunnelling somewhat since if you can last 20 seconds in chase you'll get healed by it
For killer: Agitation
It saves you so much time and it's such a feel-good perk

I did notice that it didn't have a concrete secondary effect although I was confused whether the linger effect WAS the secondary effect.
The vault speed fits best with the perk and would definitely make Dark Theory have a much better impact in the trial.
I'd agree but Shadowstep also has a lingering effect as well as having 2 effects which is why Dark theory having no secondary effect confuses me a bit
Glad people like the vault speed idea though!

I definitely get what you’re saying in the OP though, cheaters do suck. I guess I should’ve been getting mad at the people cheating ruining her rep rather than at you, so that was another big mistake on my part.
Personally I'd be offended that a bot can play my favourite killer better than me
😞kinda upsetting in retrospect, hopefully there's no pinhead bots out there
-
It's no surprise the botters are picking mostly spirit for their antics
She has high movement speed in her power and the survivors can't see it meaning survivors have limited information to react to. The bots have basically perfect tracking so it adds up
A human spirit player can make mistakes, have limited information or be outplayed. Bots have essentially perfect tracking so none of that factors into it

I dread getting suffocation pit while in solo Q
For some reason my teammates are allergic to the other side of the map

Validation
People used to just put up with Dead Hard before since it didn't always work
When Validation started making the perk work "properly" and showing killers how many hits they actually get robbed out of (the false hit/blood on screen and such) then the DH hate grew ten sizes that day
Validation has gotten better though but the problems with DH remain for now.

I'm just happy Sloppy Butcher will be a good perk again
For no particular reason at all.
-
You should be able to do it with Ghostface, as that's how I did it a similar challenge (The beast of prey one from a previous tome). Just make sure the power is fully active before going for the M1 as there might be some kind of buffer or delay to it
Alternatively you could use other undetectable perks; dark devotion, trail of torment etc or play a killer that has undetectable giving addons such as nurse, nemesis, pinhead etc.

I too didn’t realize it was the only boon with only one effect until I read your post. I’m ok with any of your ideas, but the empathy one seems rather weak for a boon. Plus all the aura reading perks survivors already have.
@sizzlingmario4 said:
I'm scared to give it vaulting speed as that might make it stronger in the areas it's already strongest in and not do much in other places. I wouldn't be opposed to increasing the linger time a bit, but 30 seconds is way too much. I like your killer aura reveal idea too.
Yeah like I said these were just random ideas I came up with on the spot, it's hard coming up with secondary effects
The empathy idea mainly comes from the fact that Yoichi's other perk is all about showing yourself to your teammates so having a boon that does the reverse would be a neat bit of synergy between his perks

This place isn't a killer main forum
It just has a lot of vocal killer mains in it
and a lot of vocal survivor mains
and so on.
-
Well, to be honest I think they were going to nerf COH anyway later but due to people wanting it sooner rather than later, they decided to bump the change up to the mid chapter
If BHVR really were just basing off of complaining then DH and NOED would be dead and buried already

That's why you run PWYF. You get your stacks for those rare situations.
It can work for sure but I don't think it's that consistant of a strat when you're going against people who know what they're doing
The survivors I find myself against typically pay attention. It's why stealth killers drop off in strength somewhat after a certain point

Unless you can see through walls and spit him he'll get a hit. Spine chill is the only true counter to it and even then a competent Myers can overcome that by looking sideways when approaching. That's how I do it and it usually always works.
What I do when I know it's a mirror myers is I just always assume I'm visible to the killer so I just work on gens and never stray too far from virtually anything I can run around. Even if it's the worst pallet in the game a mirror myers will take a while to catch up and hit me around it
-

If you're running with a mirror Myers then the Myers is playing the build all wrong. Its not a chase build. Its a surprise attack build. Hence the label jump scare Myers.
Even on indoor maps, survivors who pay attention will basically never go down to a mirror myers. Sometimes he'll get a free hit in but yeah
-
Competent survivors laugh at Mirror myers
105% movement speed turns basically anything into a psudeo infinite, it's hilarious. You can run a mirror myers around a z wall for ages
-
This is most unfortunate news.
Best wishes!
-
87 degrees
Shadowborn makes it 102 degrees I think
Monitor makes it 97 degrees outside of chase
-
Old Balanced Landing :(
Even tho its nerf was much healthier for the game, using it was so much fun back then. Now it's just resigned to a fate of being okay/used for tome challenges.
-
The way I see it - the change will make reward killers more for interrupting survivors who heal under the hook, which as a result will waste time and potentially keep the unhooked survivor vunerable for longer. The change makes healing something you have to commit to, you can't just stop healing when it suits you without wasting more time
If you think about it on a 1v1 scale then it's useless sure, because a survivor typically can't heal while being chased but if you think about it in the 1v4/on a macro level it's actually a lot stronger than you think.
It also hard counters resillience gamers who would 99 themselves, do gens injured (Which shaves off 8 seconds, quite signfiicant in the grand scheme of things) and then pop the heal whenever.
-
I imagine Joey is the most open minded of the bunch about their musical tastes
I bet his mixtape is the most diverse when it comes to genre
-
But why tho
It's typically a good display of sportsmanship if the killer decides to let the last survivor go
Not like it affects matchmaking or anything either because Hatch doesn't factor into SBMM
-
@Momentosis said:
You're just doing it wrong, OP.
No, I don't think so
I've had many instances of being behind Ghostface while he's trying to stalk (With him DIRECTLY in the center of my screen) and nothing happened. Sometimes the game would snap itself awake for a second and play the detection sound que but then it'd cancel it despite me standing perfectly still with my camera on him
It's either inconsistant or broken. I'm not sure which
-
The best kind of cheating accusations are the ones you don't even understand
I've played really badly as survivor and been accused of cheating multiple times.
-
@Peanits said:
There are some slight tweaks, but they're mostly bug fixes and not super noteworthy. For example, right now, two people cannot reveal Ghost Face at the same time. e.g. If someone else starts revealing him, you cannot start revealing them until they stop. This is being fixed along with a few other bugs, but it's not a major overhaul or anything.
Well that's good to hear
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, appreciate it!

Well there's a dev post in one of the topics saying it's not the full change list. Granted it's probably more about the rest of the addon changes than anything else.
At least with what has been revealed I'm glad they didn't do anything too drastic, but it feels really safe overall. Like 15 extra marked duration and the marked survivor not revealing you are nice additions, but you should be downing your marks around the time you mark them and not chasing them anyways. Both addon reveals are better than what we currently have and do make me hopeful the addon update is good.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong I'm pleased with the update as a whole
I was just hoping with GF changes we'd see some tweaks to the detection system is all
-
@Mdawgu said:
Honestly stretch res being gutted, marked targets being unable to reveal and new addons to help recover night shroud. It might not matter.
It does matter from a survivor perspective
That's why I made this thread, ghost face's counterplay is revealing him but the reveal mechanic doesn't work properly, or at best it's inconsistant
-
@Crowman said:
Seems the only change to detection is that the marked survivor can no longer reveal him.
Which is nice since it helps prevent getting broken out before you get the hit in for the deviousness score. But not really going to change much about how you play Ghostface.
I was hoping with his update they'd do something to make revealing him on the survivor side less of an inconsistant mess
I'm hoping they have and it's just not written down, hence why I made this thread

These changes are good. Just wish we saw a COH nerf. I love your summaries though i understand if their a pain!
Haemmorage change is a small nerf to healing in general

I let the killer kill me usually
If they try to insta-heal me from the floor I hold shift so they can't pick me up/I jump in lockers so the killer can just insta-pick me up

My time to shine
Here's a list of things to look out for when it comes to subtle cheaters:
1) Subtle cheaters tend to run typical meta perks to try and blend in with normal players, however often times they'll actually be running more perks than 4. Keep an eye on what they do in the match and (in your head) note down what perks you've seen them use. If you've seen someone dead hard, have BT, DS you and have no pain sounds then you 100% know they don't have any other perk at their disposal except for maybe boons, speaking of
2) Pay attention to what Boons are in a match and check the scoreboard - many cheaters will appear to only be running 1 boon perk but they will be running multiple. If you suspect a shadow step or expontential boon is in play, make note of it and check the scoreboard
3) Subtle cheaters typically only use their speedhacks when they round corners, to make it appear like the chase is continuing normally and you're just behind. In actuality they are speeding up when you can't see them. This is the most common form of subtle cheating
4) Subtle cheaters almost never play passively - they will be in your face and constantly pestering you for attention, for obvious reasons.
5) If you somehow lose a survivor with no trace, make a note of it and, once again, check their perks in the endgame to see if you can make sense of it. Parental Guidance for example might make someone appear like they've just disappeared when in actuality they just used the removed tracking to hide somewhere
-
I imagine all the cop survivors get along
Leon, Tapp and Cybil. Could throw Jonah in there as well since he's a fed
I could tell you though Bill and Ash would not get along, Ash is like Francis cranked up to 11.
-
These maps are the equivalent of stale cereal
Ugly, boring and just plain bland.
-
Ghost Face should have his own comic
-
Here's some random tips in no particular order:
1) Remember he can only shred in a straight line or if he's right on your back so maintain distance using windows or pallets. Small loops that are shaped a certain way stop him from shredding you because you can turn corners
2) Try not to be predictable, if you always give him the pallet when he charges shred, he'll keep doing it. Mix it up and try to juke out his shreds.
3) Breaking line of sight will make the killer not be able to commit to the shred charge time, which is the best time to vault a window.
4) Be wary of zoning, try to see what kind of demo player you're facing - does he commit to shreds or does he cancel constantly? This'll help you make more informed decisions
5) Fast vaults are your friend and medium vaults are almost always guaranteed shred hits
-
Idk, knowing where your resources are doesn't always mean you'll be able to use them well
It's def a good perk but calling it OP is a bit much, you do have to give up a perk slot for it and there's many perks that do more.
-
I'm at a massive disadvantage in this.
Well darn

You should watch it it's so good
Halloween 2 as well, screw the rest of them (2018/Kills are ok too)

Have to say I dig the new website quite a lot
I'm sure it'll be a great resource for newer players just getting started
-
The size of the map looks different as well, old myers house was really small - you can tell by looking at the jack-o-lantern position
Also it looks like there's a new filler tile, the turned over wheelbarrow with the pallet in the last image.

Content Pinhead Clusters of Chains targeting the Survivor carrying the Lament Configuration during Chain Hunt will respawn as soon as the interaction is stopped if the Survivor does not complete the Solve interaction. Teleport interaction will prioritize a location on the same level as the Survivor solving the puzzle box.…

Fixed an issue that caused Steam Family Share to no longer share DLC.

They actually broke it at one point but fixed it, it's in one of the patch notes. I'll see if I can dig it up

Exactly so use your perk slots for BT and DS then you have 2 more perk slots left if your so concern about getting tunneled out the game, problem solved!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2865454#Comment_2865454
This is the exact problem, BT into body blocks and thats "not" counting that they may have DS! I think it will be a big mistake! The game is alreday difficult enough for killer with BT's, Unbreakables, DS, DS into body blocks, very bad maps and weaker or weak killers having to deal with all of this. Its crazy how people think (not you)
Not a very healthy mindset to have if you ask me, you shouldn't automatically become a weak link in your team because you didn't want to be a slave to the meta. I know I've grown sick of running DH and DS, so I don't but I still feel the need to run BT because it really is so necessary for the matches that I play
And yes, obviously the same should be true for killer. I'm sure nobody enjoys running corrupt every game but they feel they need to otherwise they're at a big disadvantage
-
@Sluzzy said:

So the killer meta is too strong. Because any high mobility killer is very oppressive with it.
If Nurse is weak perkless, it shows how powerful perks are.
The same thing can be said for survivors though.
If as a killer you know going into a match everyone has no perks then you can just tunnel the first dude you catch out of the game instantly. No BT or DS to contend with. Chases would be much shorter with no DH or any exhaustion perk for that matter.
I don't think anyone would disagree that perks have a lot of impact on matches because they allow both roles to do things they can't do otherwise, such as regressing generators rapidly or prolonging chases
-
The likely scenario is BT won't get any stronger than it's current version, any basekit version will likely just be a weaker version which is applied universally upon being unhooked to both prevent farming and provide a bit of counterplay to killers who proxy camp their hooks
While I'm still not 100% sold on a basekit BT as I think survivors should get better game sense and learn how to unhook safely, I cannot deny that these days getting those safe unhooks is extremely hard given the amount of camping that occurs. Without BT it either becomes a trade (because you go down protecting them) or they are essentially insta-downed off the hook
-
@Sluzzy said:

We don't know MMR. But survivors with hundreds of hours are going down fast.
If you think Nurse is broken, try her on Lerys with no perks.
Problem is basically nobody plays killer or survivor perkless, it's not really a good representation of how balanced a thing is in practice
Perkless addonless Blight might be okay but nobody plays him that way and the devs don't expect people to either bc they put all these addons and perks in the game they obviously want ppl to use them
