I know they interrupt solving a box but I think bhvr is nerfing that soon.

The issue with the box and chains is that when you're doing the solve interaction, sometimes you still get pestered by random chains. That's likely what'll be changed I think

The summoned chains interrupting the box won't be changed, I'm sure of it.

The whole reason why survs are oblivious and revealed with killer instinct is to give Pinhead a chance to interrupt & get the box by downing the survivor solving it

  • @EvilJoshy said:

While we're on the subject of pinhead. Do his chains interrupte hook rescues? I saw someone going for a save and I was too far. I chained them and without breaking any, they made the save.

They don't interrupt saves but they will remain on the survivor after they are unhooked

This also applies to exit gate switches.

I think these are the only two interactions chains don't interrupt

  • Red ranks don't exist anymore

Also she's def not the least played killer according to stats, that would be Twins iirc

She's got the lowest killrate in the game though, for whatever that's worth. Not conclusive but a neat bit of data

  • @Bladeisbest said:

They can easily circumvent that. The SCREAM movies didn't PATENT the "killer calls them on the phone" scheme. xD

His original mori had him using a flip-phone to take the survivors picture instead of a camera

however I imagine that came before they had wrote the lore of him being an actual photographer and article writer, so it's probably much more likely they changed the mori to better represent that.

  • Their logic baffles me

They blatantly cheat in a video game, robbing you of a legitimate match and they have the gall to ask why you're complaining?

  • Renewal

You'd be surprised how much time it saves in the long run if you can get it working

Typical for killer I'd simp for agitation but I'm gonna switch gears and recommend Play with your food instead

It's not easy to use nor is it super effective on all killers but I can't deny that it's fun to mess with survivor muscle memory by being faster than they expect me to be.

Ok. So killer always hard. Solo survivor "sometimes" hard.

    Yeah I'd agree with that

Then again Killer can actually sometimes be easy but I feel that's a matchmaking thing

No doubt in my mind that Killer is harder role by default to me. Especially if you're newer

  • @CharlieChatBox said:

Yeah. That's obviously post Entity. And it looks better.

Also, this is mostly a bait post requesting actual winter gear on killers instead of rags and naked blue flesh.

A ghostface cosmetic which has a hood that covers his whole face apart from the bottom of the mask would be hilarious

    I'd buy it

  • @CharlieChatBox said:

I know this post is late. I have no issues with the icicle weapon or the mask.

It's just the body. Why can we see parts of his body. I thought this one was supposed to be professional. More well put together. Completely concealed. Prepared for his kills.

Pointless gripes aside why can we not get a killer wearing a down parka and actual winter gear? Why are all of them half frozen, half naked, instead of actually prepared for their environment?

Doesn't Blighted ghostface have his entire stomach pouring out or smth

I thought the Glacial cosmetic was a similar kinda thing

legit looked everywhere legitimate. looked on teh wiki, ive googled it, checked 3 pages of google, checked dbd threads--nothing says how LONG the frenzy lasts, without mods. trust me, I really, really, REALLY tried to look. if you would be so kind, and since its so easy for you, please send me a link that has this encyclopedia of information of every stat of every character in game, because I cant find it myself.

and playing around her TVs, doesnt seem to do anything. unless youre willing to hold a tape teh entire game, or are really good at looping, theres hardly ANYTHING ive seen anyone can do against this killer. every game ive ever played with her i dont see more than 2 gens pop. her semi-stealth while is easy to see, its only easy if youre OBJECTIVELY LOOKING FOR IT. If i just happen to blink at the wrong time, i could miss her phasing animation as shes approaching, and most of the time her TVs are right next to a gen or objective, so listening for her is almsot impossible because the TVs drown out so much ambient noise--unless i take the tape. but even if I am able to get an audio or visual warning, theres hardly enough time for me to react. if she craws out of a TV, shes about 2m from me at max, and the audio cue maybe gave me a 1-2 head start on her. if i visually see her coming, thats about a 30m headstart and tahts ONLY if I saw her wayyyyy over there as she was phasing.

ive been trying to find youtube videos on how to counter her and literally every "counter" video i can find is just some looping GOD going "lul so easy" which isnt an option for me. with 300+ hours in the game i know what sounds are supposed to sound like, and the static noise everyone calls her lullaby hardly counts as a cue to me because the entire game is affected by a static affect, both visually and audio.

If you're looking for learning resources, you can find what you're looking for on each killers individual page:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Frank,_Julie,_Susie,_Joey for example

The amount of time Frenzy lasts for example IS on there, it's just worded a bit weirdly, to quote:

    Feral Frenzy:

    • Power Charges: 10 charges
    • Coupled with a Power Depletion rate of 1 c/s, this makes Feral Frenzy last for 10 seconds.

However if the wiki isn't smth that's being helpful, might I suggest a youtube channel for you?

I play video games. I make videos about Dead by Daylight that hopefully help people learn more about the game and improve their gameplay.

This guy has a whole series on DBD's killers and breaking down how their power works, all their addons and so on. Some of his videos are a bit outdated now but the majority of them still apply and he made efforts to make follow ups to reworked killers

  • I think a better buff would be making it pause if you're put into the dying state and resuming once you're back up

I find it really unnecessary that it deactivates when you're downed, the activation condition of having to fully heal somebody should be enough.

That's what I was referring to as well. However a large issue is small streamers often self promote (twitch name on steam page or username). People will quickly check to see if their streaming. Its kind of a problem with no solution. Promote your twitch channel, increase the risk of being sniped. Don't promote, remain a small channel. I think its just part of being a streamer honestly, you will get sniped, it can't be avoided. It just so happens DBD is the type of game that allows for people to easily get enjoyment ruining someone else's fun.

I've seen some people who don't have TTV/don't have stuff on their profile who are streamers have their stuff found as well, some people are just curious and will search your username on twitch before or after a match

I guess it comes with the territory of being a streamer yeah. Sucks but what can you do.

  • @Icaurs said:

So I'm going to be very careful with what I say, as I do not want people learning how to do this but let me explain how stream snipping works.

Some people use player usernames to snipe, however this method is not every effective.

There are hacks that can be purchased through the internet, I will not say where, and I do not encourage, be warned that people who attempt this run the risk of downloading the wrong hack and being doxed. These hacks allow for a variety of features, most notably a stream snipping mod. Imagine there is a quee of people waiting to join a lobby. This hack can show where each player is in, based on the quee, not off their username, but their steam iD. You could hide the player name for the entire match and this would accomplish very little. Even worse the hack shows when a person is about to connect to a lobby and if you attempt to connect at this moment you will connect to their lobby It is not completely guaranteed I think its around a 75% chance that it works. Its even worse as there is a gorup that has colleciton of prominent DBD streamer IDs, and therefore simply has to wait until that steam id connects to a quee, so they don't even need to watch the stream. This is why certain content creators will be sniped, sometimes 10-20 times in a row.

Again I do not encourage this and want something done to stop this, I only poste this to explain in detail why stream snipng in DBD is so bad

No offence to anybody in this thread who's a streamer but

From what I understand the cheaters who streamsnipe usually only target the semi-big to bigger streamers because more people will see their shenanigans + they think they can get reactions out of people. In one of Choy's videos about cheaters he shows the 'List' they have of people. It specifically mentions if they are a big streamer/how big and such. Also reasons to target them, which is odd but w/e right?

I highly doubt cheaters go after the smaller streamers too often, I'd wager most streamsniping that happens is usually from the killer seeing a ttv name or checking a steam profile and then putting it on a 2nd monitor or smth. It's not techincally against DBD's rules (As in they don't ban you for it) so yeah.

There is about the same level of interaction that happens in most base games really, it’s just confined to the endgame.

As usual people have just put a bunch of narrow assumptions on how it plays and get all snotty about it. Then sit around thumbing their self righteous noses at anyone who doesn’t play the game they way they want them to.

You are only blocking the box for the first half, it’s not that different from getting a camped out kill and then playing out the endgame in a 3 v 1 only it takes less vigilance to guard the box than the hook and you skip the first chase.

I’d say they’ll probably patch it out by making boxes accessible from other directions much like hooks. Until then give it a try you may shock yourself and like it.

It is very different from someone getting camped out

For a start, the killer has to actually win a chase and hook a survivor before they can camp and/or tunnel somebody out. Many people would have you believe this is difficult and thus takes skill which also means it's entirely possible for you not to catch anybody in a chase.

There is also things you can do to actually stop or delay somebody who is being camped to death - there are perks for that and things a player can actively do to hinder a killer's playstyle which means there is a back and forth. This, not so much.

Many people will make the argument that survivors either don't have to work very hard to escape or that they would if they weren't carried by their perks, so with that in mind why shouldn't killers also have to work for their kills? Why should somebody's gamestate be basically already decided when they spawn in because of something the killer decided to do?

Again I repeat this argument a lot but at the very least Basement bubba requires you to catch somebody, that's way more than this asks of you to do.

  • Both of Trapper's iri addons compliment each other

You either disarm the traps and get injured or you ignore them and let them all re-arm

  • Remember when DBD players used to use 'potato' as an insult?

Has it fallen out of fashion?

  • I remember when I played Ghostface when he first came out

I faced 4 object of obsession players in a single match, old object worked on stealth killers so

Yeah, I mean I still won but it was really annoying

  • Not a fair conclusion to come to imo

Killer is typically always hard due to the 4 v 1 nature and many other factors

Solo survivor is hard depending on various circumstances out of a solo players control. SWF is easier because you can tell your teammates what to do/coordinate properly

A boon that autorepairs gens and revives in proximity.

    More like

A perk that guarantees the hatch spawns at your feet and also makes it so you don't get AFK crows ever.

  • I can't wait for the AFK survivor meta to arrive

  • While you have a 100% guaranteed chance of dying with 0 effort being put in by the killer?

    Sounds pretty balanced to me

  • @Stroggz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2895004#Comment_2895004

But you are playing the game. You put reverse bear traps via addon and wait it to pop up.

There is surv equal strat. You can sit in a locker till the end of match to escape.

    Aha but big difference

The killer can actually stop you from escaping in the scenario you described. If the killer 100% could do nothing to stop the survivor in the locker escaping then sure

    Now let me ask you:

What's the counterplay to spawning in with an RBT and the boxes of you and another survivor are being blocked by the killer who's not chasing anybody?

  • @Stroggz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2894871#Comment_2894871

Why you define sitting in front of box as nt a normal dbd game?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2894882#Comment_2894882

But it is not idling, you are guarding the box.

You're not playing the game and expecting to be rewarded for it

I'd love to see a survivor equal to this strat and see how people respond to it. An AFK survivor strat where you get a free escape just by standing doing nothing and the killer can't do anything about it.

Question was regarding Video Tape + Rule #2 and blocking a box indefinitely.

Was from a little while ago but I imagine it still holds up

  • @Nathan13 said:

I feel like we need a dev or someone to confirm whether or not it’s bannable.

Support responded to somebody who made a ticket and they said it's not against the rules

I'm trying to dig up the source at the moment but I 100% know for certain they said ppl aren't gonna be banned for it

Doesn't change the fact it shouldn't be in the game but that's neither here nor there

  • First of all - Decisive and BT are certainly not only useful when with a SWF group, these perks are the ones that actually benefit solo Q players the most because it allows them to protect themselves and their teammates from effective killer strats or at the very least delay the killer for even longer than without.

When I play solo Q, It sucks so much when I'm the one getting unhooked and there's no BT and contrary wise it's awful when the killer's camping and since I don't have BT I can't do anything apart from maybe trade (Which, again with no BT is basically only good for the killer most of the time)

The survivor meta isn't a "lie", It's just not 100% needed to win. Against most killers anyway

As for Dead Hard I think it goes without saying really, people run it because it's easily the best chase extender perk in the game, bails you out of mistakes like falling for a mindgame and (most importantly imo), it helps against the two strongest killers in the game: Nurse & Blight. It is one of few perks that actually have a tangible impact against these two, to the point that Nurse mains seem to despise DH users a lot of the time and will opt for insta-down perks to try and ignore it

  • If MMR is truely here to stay then it's probably for the best

I see many new players not understanding that grades have nothing to do with matchmaking, which is mainly because there's no in game explanation for matchmaking as far as I'm aware. Removing the grades would def help clear up that confusion I think

  • Reagants are forbidden snacks

I like to think some survivors drink them

Also don't burn a purple reagant on eyrie of crows, you will regret it

  • Essentially whatever 'slot' that addon occupied is taken up, you keep the same amount you had of that slot

Here's an easy way of looking at it:

Pig's video tape addon was an uncommon (yellow) and was changed to ultra rare. They didn't delete the old one and replace it, they simply swapped the slots around. In other words if you had 200 yellow video tape addons, you got 200 pink ones instead

    Hopefully that makes sense?

  • Joey might be my favourite Legion member overall but

I gotta give it to her, she knows how to make a good mixtape

Like @Satelit said, she's essentially a TikTok witch. Her being a barista in an "eccentric coffee shop in the artsy part of town" and being interested in witchcraft just screams "how do you do, fellow kids?" to me.

Not like being interested in witchcraft or being a barista are bad things but its just,, idk my brain is smooth as hell and I can't quite put into words why but she just reads so much like an attempt to create a relatable character for the younger parts of DBD's community rather than an attempt to make a genuinely interesting character. A witch could have been an opportunity to maybe expand Hag's lore since her tome sucked or to introduce a survivor from a distant point in the past. Instead we got her.

I get what you mean now yeah, you explained it well

i felt the same way about Trickster's inclusion into the game initially. I thought it was just a cash grab/pandering attempt and that his character was really out of place.

In hindsight though I'm glad he's in the game, I've come to appreciate his design and power. Bit harder to do that with survs since their perks are their 'power' and they lose all sense of uniqueness pretty quickly.

  • Space station map

    Hell yeah, DBD in space

  • Yeah sloppy is a wasted perk on Plague. Survivors can't heal vs a plague unless you're slugging (Which sloppy only adds an extra 2 seconds or so)

You're better off picking thanatophobia instead if you're looking for slowdown

That's because lerys, rpd suck in general. Corn blindness is real. Swamp can be impossible to track on.

I just named 8 maps right there that most nurses don't want

It's not really an excuse if you ask me.

Survivors send themselves to easy maps, people don't like it (rightly so)

The same applies to killers, especially the strongest killers in the game who funnily enough are the ones most likely to use map offerings too.

  • @CakeDuty said:

I think it depends on what kind of Nurse it is.

I personally find an average Nurse fun to go against, but a good Nurse with good add ons slowdown perks and I give up immediately, they clearly just want an easy 4k, so I'll just give it to her and get to the next game, cause survivors aren't going to stand a chance or have any fun. She is the one killer that breaks everything DbD is. Pallets? Useless. Windows? Useless. Walls? She ignores those as well. There's nothing you can do against a good Nurse.

So I assume that's why most people just wanna die and go to the next game.

I think the main thing that bothers me is they always burn map offerings as well

    usually macmillan or dead dawg

I bet they hate when survivors do it too

  • Facing a nurse can be okay

Facing 5 of them in a row does become a chore, especially if you're not trying to be a slave to the meta - meaning you're not running the best possible perk combos against the killer who those combos are somewhat required. I say somewhat because it's not impossible but anytime I face a nurse without DH, it makes me wish I had DH if you see what I mean

It's not like most Nurse players handicap themselves by not bringing strong perks or addons, they typically bring the strongest stuff they can, aiming to end the match asap so - yeah

To be fair I was going to include it cause I love Wesker, but the last time I made a Wesker skin opinion - most of the community said it'd be impossible since he was a bad guy and it wouldn't be right with him working with survivors as he only fought for himself. I want Wesker so bad though - he's my personal favorite character.

    Ye fair enough honestly

One day we'll see Wesker in the game in some form. Even if it's just his RE1 appearance

  • No RE1 Wesker?

    For shame.

  • I find it really funny that they mention bots in their survey right after cheaters have set them loose on public matches
