People only pitch Haste not stacking because Made For This combined with Hope is absurdly overpowered, and because stacking it with most other consistent/longer term Haste effects is also too strong, to a lesser degree.
Do you have a way of fixing that without disabling Haste stacking? Because I agree with you, it would be a tiny bit unfair to only disable Haste stacking specifically and only for the survivor side... but it's kinda hard to avoid the fact that only the survivor side currently has a huge problem with it.
Disabling MFT in endgame fixes this issue
All other survivor haste perks are either exhaustion or suck so hard their haste stacking is irrelevant once mft hope is no longer a thing

As long as she fundementally breaks the rules of the game she probably always will be
She ignores pallets, windows and map collision/geometry.
Every other Killer has to deal with these in one way or another. Even Blight.
-
You paid full price for it, it's not like it's 'broken broken'.
It's BHVRs fault for releasing it in its current state, not yours.
-
Disabled during Endgame.
That'd be my main change if they want to keep it a strong perk but get rid of one of the most broken aspects of it

Which skin licensed is not on this game?
Myers Hospital Gown/Weapons
All of Detective Tapp's/The Pig's outfits
Most of Ghost Face's outfits (he does have a set or two)
Steve, Nancy and Demo's cosmetics before they were removed (Rest in peace)
Cenobite's 1 torso cosmetic (Granted it was probably going to be a set according to dataminers)
I think that's all of them?

You shouldn't be rewarded for DCing
If there's no penalty, then DCing vs stuff u hate and insta going next has no downside
-
Xenomorph having several addons that makes their intended counterplay worse seems like a really bad design oversight.
Like, by design you give Xenomorph a really powerful chasing tool, so you incorporate a countermeasure that turns it off to give survivors a defence mechanism but then you give Xenomorph addons that make that countermeasure less effective to use and further tilts the scales in your favour
Other killers who have addons in a similar vein eventually got toned down. Pinhead box addons for example

An FPS in 2023 with no FOV option is genuinely shocking tbh

How is the tail attack unbalanced?
Basically it boils down to a few key complaints, not ones that I entirely agree with but basically:
- Minimal telegraphing, turning chases into 'guess when the killer is gonna press m2'
- Minimal punishment for missing, the cooldown time might be 3 seconds but from my experience it feels like Xeno is barely slowed down for missing leading to what I'm going to dub 'Pyramid Head syndrome' (aka just spam spam spam until you get a hit).
- Very little build up to having it; it's a strong chase power that's basically always there unless survivors are really good with turrets which, as you can imagine most aren't, In fact I doubt anybody is 'good' with them yet.
- Xeno has addons that make their counterplay even worse. Reduced flame distance, turrets auto destroying, knowing where all of them are when traversing and so on.
- And one last one which is highly subjective but a seemingly generous hitbox AT TIMES. Sometimes it's really easy to dodge, other times I've seen a clip or two of survivors being hit OVER tall obstacles by it. Bizarre.
-
Skull Merchant rework soon. Then the nightmare will be over, hopefully
I cannot wait.

1: your thread is about them pulling the wool over people's eyes. That's just silly.
2: its kind of like announcements 'I'm leaving DbD forever!' it doesn't really accomplish anything. Stats are what matter.
3: With extremely rare exceptions, no consumer wants to pay more for a product. You're stating the obvious.
Don't make it sound like a conspiracy or a moral issue and its just kind of a personal view about whether you value the product or not. Which isn't much of a thread, but you can post it.
1) The title is how it looks with the methodolgy they're using, I'm sorry if you're not a fan of my choice of metaphor.
2) "it doesn't accomplish anything" neither does you replying to it, then. So by your own logic, you're wasting your own time and should stop, surely. (Personally I don't think it's a waste of time, it's nice to discuss stuff)
3) That's the thing tho, I wanna support the devs of DBD but I don't wanna support their greedy corporate overlords who are responsible for decison making like this and other recent ones

"Here is the Alien Chapter bundle! It has the chapter and a cosmetic you may or may not want, which means we are charging more for it" and if you want to pay the 'cheaper' or 'original' price for the chapter, you MUST buy auric cells and in so doing - you are still paying more.Under this logic I should have the right to buy a killer or survivor without the package. That option, to the best of my knowledge, has never existed.
They are packaging goods and charging for it. Nothing about it is secret, everything you get is disclosed as is the price. Maybe they felt that they had to raise the price for some reason outside their control (license/inflation) and thought throwing an additional product in with it would be a better deal. Maybe they just want to make more money.
Maybe they went crazy and typed random numbers into the price.
We all get back to the same issue:
If its cost is not worth the value to you, don't buy it.
If you don't like the model of how the game monetization works, don't play it. There are a plethora of alternatives.
Alright got a counter question for you.
Why shouldn't people be vocal about not liking it? What is so wrong about it?

No on is saying that they are forced to buy the DLC, but it's important to have discourse around things like this. Idk why you want to tell others that they shouldn't share their opinion. What discourse?
That's my serious question after this whole thread.
Companies want to make money. They do this by offering consumers a product for a price. As consumers we want the product, but don't want to pay. Eventually a company either finds a price that enough people are willing to pay that the company turns a profit, or the company goes out of business.
This entire forum could be filled with posts complaining about the price, but it will mean nothing if its selling. Likewise, not a single person could being talking about the issue, but if the product isn't selling they have a problem.
Maybe BHVR has additional costs, maybe its licensing fees, maybe they just want to make more money. It doesn't really matter.
There simply is no good reason to defend this.Defend what? The right of a company to set their own prices and consumers to either pay it or not?
The issue isn't just the price being put up tho, hell I even said I would be okay if the overall price was put up
The issue is their methodology. How they've raised the price.
To quote an earlier post, it's not like they went "Here is the alien DLC, it's this price" It's "Here is the Alien Chapter bundle! It has the chapter and a cosmetic you may or may not want, which means we are charging more for it" and if you want to pay the 'cheaper' or 'original' price for the chapter, you MUST buy auric cells and in so doing - you are still paying more.
All of this could've been avoided if they just gave steam users the option to buy it standalone

The whole "just don't buy it" doesnt work either tbh. Voting with your wallet alone is meaningless bc of the whales out there. Today gaming space has shown that companies doesnt have to care if they don't get a few dollars from a few hundred ppl as long as they have whales to feed them the $$$. Look at Gachas, look at Apex, OW2 or Valorant. All these games ppl complain about and don't spend money on but do these companies care to change? No bc they do not have to since they know there is some whale out there who has WAY to money that willing to spend it on overpriced BS.
A lot of ppl on here are missing the point why ppl are mad about the bundle. They removed an opinion to get the characters at a discount without telling any of us they were going to. They just decided we just charge more for the bundle and throw a ######### skin in there to justify it(and yes both the nick cage and Ripley skins in their bundles are bad, at least imo). At the end of the day will our complaining do anything? No, most likely it won't but I will continue to act on my right to complain about a product that a greedy company is trying to sale me. That is my and your right as consumers.
Good on you for speaking your mind. Well said

And while you may disagree with them, crowman is right about one thing. If people keep buying (which they are), bhvr will keep doing it
Yeah I know people will keep buying, that's the reason why threads like this are kinda necessary in the first place imo. I even mentioned it somewhere that most people are indifferent. Which is fine there's nothing wrong with that necessarily but it doesn't mean if you DO have a problem, you should just shut up and take it. No
If you don't like something, you talk about it.

Demanding that bhvr gets your approval or heads up won't change anything.
I will, I'll keep speaking about it because it's ridiculous. Your arguments basically boil down to:
"ur overreacting"
"lol just don't buy it"
I don't care lmao

If you aren't paying attention you will not see the tail on the alien pulling back before lunging forward, this is entirely possible to avoid, the issue is Ping in all honesty.
If the Xenomorph has chunky ping its nigh impossible to dodge the swing.
It may be that, I'm not used to them yet so it's possible
It doesn't help that Xeno's colour scheme makes them really hard to distinquish from a lot of maps, which thematically is cool but in practice its a bit frustrating.
-
Hate to burst your bubble but they will probably never address this, as it'd probably draw more eyes to it than you or I complaining about it. Most people are just indifferent
The CMs/Mods on the forums here aren't allowed to talk about it I would imagine, as they clearly are paying attention to the threads being made about it. It's probably some upper management decision to try and milk more money from the consumers by adopting common F2P game strats as I've heard DBD is not the only live service game trying this 'forced bundle' tactic.
It sucks but all we can really do is talk about it, ignore the people who call us entitled - speak your mind.
-
I think the idea is you're supposed to take chase near turrets or people placing turrets, that's why you're given so much information on where turrets are etc
From the (albeit about 10 matches ish) I've played vs Xenomorph, results vary wildly as turrets are easily dispatched mid chase or straight up ignored if they are in a bad spot. Not to mention the addons xeno has that make them less effective
The only other main counterplay that was working for me was just prerunning and basically making sure there was always an obstacle between them and myself
-
The lack of a telegraph of any kind is a bit of an issue
There's a reason basically every killer has one of some kind.

the problem i have with this notion is that this is a common phenomenon with anything that goes up in price compared to what we are used to or is priced in a very unusual way.
i understand that individual's point, and there is nothing wrong with consumer advocacy. there is a reason as to why i outright stated that you should write BHVR a letter to negotiate this rather than solely using the forums (a place where people commonly air their negative responses to things) as a place for this sort of thing. what i was outlining was the fact that it is wrong to claim that a business is simply "pulling the wool over the consumer's eyes" without taking to account everything that can factor into the conditions of a price, including contractual agreements that contain conditions that are to be met by the party signing. this includes making up for the costs that come with providing a resource that's meant to fill a criteria (i.e, a requirement to meet a certain profit margin to indicate a success in a license in order to continue annual resales, or a certain percentage owed for a quarter of the first sale period, etc.).
If it really was the case that they just wanted to raise the price, then raise the price
I don't see the need to do this "if you want the real price, use auric cells or pay more" methodology. Apparently other games are doing a similar tactic to this, in their F2P games.
Also I put it on the forums because imo its the best place for it. Other people can contribute and discuss it, that's the whole point
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
Considering the legitimate quality of this chapter, I'd say the price is fair.
Yeah I mean speaking personally it's not that I have some kind of moral objection to paying a higher price, it's more so the fact they are being really underhanded about it by limiting consumer options (You can't buy it for the 'normal' price on steam anymore).
If it were on steam for 7.99 or whatever, I'd not have as big of an issue with it because at least it's not some weird "if you want the cheap price, you NEED to buy our currency".

Plague or Dredge are really fun rewarding Killers

-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3528198#Comment_3528198
It's really not about defending it. I'm just stating that if the price of the steam bundle is too high for you, there is a cheaper option available in the in-game store. And if you still don't like that, then just don't buy the dlc.
It's a video game at the end of the day. Hardly anything in the Alien dlc is required to enjoy the game.
With the Nicolas Cage situation you were completely correct that auric cells were cheaper than the base price
But it doesn't seem to be the case here, it's more expensive than usual either way if we're going by how each type of DLC is standardly priced. (5.49 for 1 kil 1 surv and so on)
Also I'm with you OP, I've also made a thread talking about this. Good on you for speaking your mind.
-
@Skittlesthehusky said:
one thing you seem to misunderstand is the fact that the pricing of DLCs may also be subject to change due to term agreements for the contracts that BHVR signs for in order to have permission to create the content in the first place. with that being said, they have to balance the costs and profits accordingly. they are a business at the end of the day, and the business' goal is to ensure that it brings in profit to continue to create and provide services for years to come.
you are not obligated to purchase the goods or be in agreement with these prices to continue to play the game. you are not obligated to pricing notifications as a consumer, and it is your responsibility to balance your own checkbook. if you're really that upset about a few dollars of an increase, personally write BHVR a letter for negotiation.
(edit: i forgot to mention that steam, epic games, windows store, xbox, etc. may also have agreements to fees charged for each sale of a product through their services. this is something BHVR also has to account for.)

No they don't, but it's perfectly reasonable for people to make a forum posted pointing out what they see a problem with it. Or maybe they found something in the pricing they feel others might not (but should be) aware of.
Frankly, it's a better use of bandwidth than the 634,821st post on "why isn't BHVR fixing tunneling?!" or "pLz nerf [insert killer/perk/add-on here].
I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's just some consumer advocacy, and that's fine.
@Thusly_Boned said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3528066#Comment_3528066
This is true, but the BHVR isn't entitled to the consumer just quietly accepting it. Nor are they entitled to perpetually growing profit margins. Drawing attention to pricing changes and discussion about them (including conjecture/questioning about motivations), as well as advocating for organized pushback is totally acceptable in forums like these.
So in a very real way, BHVR does need our approval, it's only that approval is expressed in the form of purchasing.
More than acceptable, in fact. They can raise their prices, and the consumer can reject the changes by abstaining from purchase, and by encouraging others to do so, if they feel they are unfair. This is how the market should work.
Additionally, this is how unjustified pricing changes get pushed off on people, and the fond hope of the company is that they will be quietly accepted.
And make no mistake, while inflation is a thing, a whole lot of what we have seen over the past few years is more collective price gouging/collusion that natural inflation. We had a pandemic supply chain crisis that actually passed pretty quickly, but many unscrupulous companies decided hey could just keep on going with unjustified price increases. Even for companies that were totally immune to supply chain/pandemic labor issues. This has long since graduated from conspiracy theory to a fact acknowledged by most economists.
They just count on you to quietly accept burgeoning prices and chalk it up to whatever the narrative of the day happens to be. Always question these things.
People can just roll with these changes if that's their prerogative, but we shouldn't try to quiet/suppress those who want to point out problems with them.
Read these two posts by @Thusly_Boned they basically summed up why I even made this thread in the first place.
-
Hard disagree
Basekit BT has made playing survivor less of a chore. No longer do you need to (and expect others to) run a perk to counter an extremely effective and common killer strat (tunnelling off hook or camping)
Yeah in the endgame it's a bit much if there's a hook right near a gate but that's about my only issue with it.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3528062#Comment_3528062
funny... that was never the price I saw for any dlc. it was always 8$+. 5$+ for individual characters.
Hey again, I wanna say I'm not against them raising the price if it's somehow necessary - my problem lies in their methodolgy. They removed a steam users option to buy the DLC normally without paying extra (The outfit bundle), so their only option is to buy auric cells which for both characters is more expensive than the usual DLC price.
Basically that is my biggest gripe with those whole thing, It's not "This is the Alien DLC, it costs £7.99" it's "This is the alien character pack - it includes the alien DLC AND an outfit you may or may not want, it costs 9.99" and if you want the 'normal' price you have to buy auric cells
Hopefully you get what I mean.

My god. You do know buying the rights to something costs more money right? And then you need to sell it for more money right? And if day to day costs, employee wages, IT infrastructure costs etc etc are more expensive then you need to charge more right? Dude if you don't understand how the economy works just say. It'll save the embarrassment of you digging a deeper hole for yourself.
I'm sure BHVR the small indie company that pulls in 336.2M worth of revenue each year really needs that slight increase of money. They clearly are struggling to pay the bills, which is why they are branching out and are making a movie. Ahaha, jesus christ man if you're gonna do damage control for BHVR, at very least make them pay you for it
I'm not digging any hole, by the way - the people digging the hole are the ones who just let companies walk all over them 24/7 with no pushback. I'm not saying that about you or anyone in this thread, I mean in a general sense.

Do you literally know how economics works? So because something was one price ages ago means it needs to stay that price? What a terribly basic view of the current world. How do you know it costs that much now just because a skin was added. Do you not think they had to increase the price due to increasing costs and they're adding a skin for free to sweeten the deal a little bit? Maybe the license with the Alien folks TOLD them to make it that price, maybe they want higher cut of the proceedings. A lot of factors at play here. A lot of people are getting triggered over about £2-3 which comes around after a handful of months.
"Ages ago"
End Transmission release date: June 2023
Price: £5.49
Hmm something's not adding up here chief

Either communicate with your consumers that you're changing your prices or don't change the prices. Stop with this wishy-washy "we're not changing the prices, we're just charging you more for more value" it's a load of crap that anyone sensible can see right through

tbh I wouldn't have minded either if they simply made the steam DLC a bit more expensive and said "Hey, this is our new standardised price for steam" but no, they have to be dishonest about it and try to pull the wool over people's eyes by doing this underhanded "no really its a bargain!" crap
-
They've done this to hike up the price of the DLC without making it seem greedy
You have two options
Buy on steam for much higher price or buy auric cells, which by default were more expensive than steam.
Let's start calling it what it is, a greedy unannounced price hike.

It's kinda imposible but hopefully Alien sells fails and people actually force them to stop this crap strategy. But i have no hope on community tho.
I'm conflicted as well, I was looking forward to Alien as the content seems well made and I like the franchise
But at the same time I am not buying into this blatant double dipping greed. What, we really gonna pretend like BHVR isn't making enough money or something?
We really gonna pretend they aren't making a movie, have several other games in production and own one of the biggest horror gaming franchises now?

If we accept that, they will dare even more greedy strategies.
There is no doubt in my mind that double character chapters are going to be more expensive as well, going forward
