Not sure when that will be in terms of dates. I think it would be only fair to have a Double BP event or something like that in the meantime to compensate for this.
That's awful to be honest. Double BP until fixed should definitely have happened by now if they're not planning to fix this for another few weeks.

Still 4ked it.
I played demo with no slowdown on McMillan with new tiles. I was on auto pilot, not focusing. By the time all gens completed I had already 2 kills and just downed the 3rd. Getting the 4k was easy.
Imagine playing killer for 3 full days and just saw 5 gens completed only once and even that was a 4k.
BHVR you totally messed up the balance of this game
You made a post crying about how hard survivor is and that you can never escape and then started creating multiple posts about how easy and boring killer is and that you 4K every match.
Something seems a bit off here. Would love to see gameplay, but I guess your Internet is too bad for that 😂
-
I've been using Lightweight, Lithe, Windows and Prove Thyself (very necessary in soloQ). Sometimes I switch out Windows for Quick & Quiet.
-
Exactly! I've had some really good killer games and was able to hook a couple survivors before a single gen popped, but I've also had plenty of games where gens pop left right and centre resulting in 0 kills.
I've played majority of survivor today and although some games I went against strong killers, I've still survived the majority of them.
I play on PS5 so maybe that has something to do with it, but I seriously don't understand the crying. Feels like I'm playing a different game to everyone because people just attack any opinion I have that is positive about this update.

You're lying, it's not being salty. You're not escaping 80% of the time. I've played 11 matches, escaped four times. The 33 survivors I've been paired with, have also escaped four times. Total. That's 8 escapes, 36 deaths. 18% escape rate, and my 36% escape rate is absolutely carrying that figure.
Ah yes, 'my survive rate is this, so yours must be wrong argument'. Absolutely hilarious the amount of cynical and judgemental children there are on this forum. I couldn't care less if you believe me or not, I have nothing to prove, I'm simply sharing my own in game experience and am loving the update so far.
-
Completely agree. I'm loving survivor today, and is actually nice being able to try new builds I wouldn't usually use.

This arguing and name calling isn't helping anything. I agree with you that the patch went too far towards the killer side, but if someone shares their personal experience there's no reason to attack them for it.
Nice to see someone around here with common sense. I don't take it personally, at my age it's rather amusing to see how wound up strangers get on the Internet.

Why are you defensive? Just show us the gameplay, or you don't want to because you're making it up?
I don't stream or even have a twitch account. How about you stream so we can see all the mistakes you're making.
Thinking I'm lying because I don't share gameplay is such an immature accusation. You must have a superior god complex if you think other people can't survivor just because you can't. Jesus.

Can you please stream for us so we can learn how to be solo q gods like you?
Since you're escaping 8 out of 10 matches in solo q, I really want to see your gameplay.
How salty can you get 😂
-
I think soloq will start to get a bit more difficult when the new tome comes out and everyone is focusing on their challenges rather than gens, but otherwise it shouldn't be too bad.
The only annoying thing is I keep pressing the button to Dead Hard when I don't even use it anymore.

Mind gaming is your friend. Don’t break every pallet, just strong or safe ones and try to play around weaker ones to force the survivor to stay close to you. Jolt is a great perk on all killers. A tracking perk is a good call too, I recfokend whispers or nurses calling myself.
Thank you! Good advice, I've been running Nurse's Calling a lot tonight and has come in handy.

I only played Freddy till now.
On him, I ran Corrupt, Deadlock, Dead Man Switch and No Way out.
I will try Gift of Pain, Save the best for last, Eruption/Call of Brine and some other combos too.
Thanks! Will give them both a go.
-
Any tips for perks and strats to use for killers?
-
It's not a big a difference as people are making it out to be. I think survivors are just upset about DH and Iron Will more than anything.
I was a Killer main for about 2.5 years and then played survivor for 1.5 years soon after the ruin nerf. I jumped back on killer again a couple weeks ago to do my adept challenges for PS5 and was excited for today for the killer buffs. There's not a lot of difference from 2 weeks ago to now.
My first 2 games were a huge success as Legion and Huntress, I then played Clown and Freddy and was back gen rush, all survivors using Prove Thyself and constant running to pallets. Sprint Burst and Lithe seem to be the new meta.
-
I play more games than DBD atm, and chase platinums. Today I got the platinum for Crash Bandicoot and last week got the platinum for Cuphead. Just started Stray but my all time favorite series is Soulsborne. Got the platinum for DS3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring.

There's another quirk in play here. If you do own the DLC, then you still get the old icons for those perks, e.g. Inner Healing has Nancy for the perk icon, and it still shows "Nancy Wheeler Perk".
However this is functionally still the same as the generic Inner Healing perk, which has a generic male survivor for the icon and doe snot say "Nancy Wheeler Perk".
Ahh I didn't know that. I have the DLC so that makes a lot of sense as to why they still say Steve or Nancy on them.

"Grow up, it's not about being right or wrong, or a personal attack."
Show me where I once said it was a personal attack. And it very clearly is about being right or wrong, since we cannot simultaneously be correct about the treatment of the perks.
"you can't even admit calling a perk 'Steve or Nancy's Perk' in game is confusing when you want people to believe they don't have perks."
Oh confusing, absolutely I agree. Which is why I'm attempting to help spread the correct information. Alas nowhere prior to this comment did you once mention confusing (though you did call it stupid, and also said the devs never addressed this when they actually kinda did) therefore I didn't give my view on the confusion aspect as it wasn't relevant prior to this comment.
"I can tell by the amount of posts you have on here you take this rather seriously, but don't be so sensitive."
Let's see. So far you've acted passive aggressive and called the idea stupid, while I've remained pretty calm, so I'd be very careful about calling me sensitive.
And the only thing that my post count can tell you is that I can abide by Forums rules, unlike a lot of other people from back when I joined.
It's okay Karu, it's okay 👍

Ok. That's the first time they you've really made that point. The conversations so far have seemingly been telling both Karu and I. That we're wrong and that they DO have associated perks with them.
The actual perk description is confusing. Fine we get it.
Clearly I didn't articulate myself very well, but we all got there in the end.
-
@BrokenSouI said:

They literally do not have perks associated with them. I'm not so sure what's so hard to believe. Or what's so hard to understand. The licensing to stranger things was lost. Part of that deal for whatever reason was the perks. That is the reason why they became GLOBAL perks, and renamed. Fixated went to self aware. Surge went to jolt. I can't remember the 3rd one
I'm not finding it hard to believe, my point is BHVR should remove the reference to Steve and Nancy on the perk to avoid further confusion. I don't know what's so difficult to understand about that.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3069850#Comment_3069850
No, it's actually far more relevant than the perk saying "Nancy Wheeler" on it.
We get it, you want to be right, but the devs have been incredibly clear that from the 21st November onwards there would be no perks attached to Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon, with them all joining the General Pool of Perks.
Grow up, it's not about being right or wrong, or a personal attack. Clearly you're the one who wants to be right when you can't even admit calling a perk 'Steve or Nancy's Perk' in game is confusing when you want people to believe they don't have perks. Most players don't actually use the forums.
I can tell by the amount of posts you have on here you take this rather seriously, but don't be so sensitive.

I more or less assumed that would be the case because they only stated teachable perks in the release.
Granted, it seems like it would be the case I just wish they could have acknowledged it in forum posts that were clearly asking for more clarity about the prestiging system as they knew there was a lot of confusion.
Not the end of the world, just would have made me consider prestiging certain characters or spend more time getting BP.

They did, albeit this was back in May during an anniversary article and not in the recent developer update blogs (that I can see, anyway), so I appreciate why you may have missed this. They do specifically mention 'teachables' throughout their articles though, and none of the general/universal perks are considered teachables.
Fair enough, I missed this and didn't see it anywhere in recent posts.

If you go into their Character Information page, the place where it clearly displays a characters available perks, they do not have perks. I believe (but cannot confirm) that if you go into their bloodweb, they do not have the perks to unlock above the web.
That's irrelevant, it stills says 'Steve Harrington Perk' or 'Nancy Wheeler Perk' on the perk itself. Regardless of whether it's on their character page or not it's still misleading and implies they are their perks.

This sounds like a "I didn't put in any time or effort towards my characters and the thought or others who did getting a reward isn't fair!" Like you had the same opportunity everyone else did? Why are you upset if devotion was rewarded? If anything this sounds more whiny to me than the people requesting something to recognize their work.
You couldn't be more wrong. I have 12 characters who are P3 level 50 with all perks, I will get the reward. The rest granted are P0 Level 50. I've been playing DBD over 4 years so not from the beginning but for a long time. I don't have a gloating mentality, I play games for fun not to show off how long I've been playing the game for.

i dont need it but i dont see any issue with others wanting it. It Seriously hurts nothing. If they want to show others the effort they put in its their choice to. To sit there and jab at people for this seems passive aggressive and pointless.
I don't have an issue with it, I have an issue with the constant entitled moaning and begging on the forums from people who think it's their right they be rewarded.

Theres nothing wrong with being proud of how much time and effort you put into something you enjoy. No matter how insignificant that thing is. If people want to show off those achievements the only people who have an issue with it are those who do not have it. Which is pretty petty. They want to feel like the time they put in ment something. Which impacts you zero.
There's a devotion level that shows how much time and effort you put. Why do you need others to see your achievement for you to be proud? Seems quite insecure to me.

Trying to get the adept trophies are extremely difficult for Killers now. I did them all 3 years ago on PS4 and got the platinum, but as trophies don't transfer over to PS5 I've been attempting them again. Have only managed trapper and wraith so far, hillbilly is virtually impossible!

The grind would still continue to go up with each character released. Plus, items/add-ons/offerings are not the part of the grind they're trying to reduce. BHVR is specifically reducing the required grind of unlocking perks. This is made painfully obvious with the addition of 97 more prestige levels plus "showing off" prestige levels to get people to grind competitively. The grind is meant to be endless, but the grind for perks is extremely prohibitive for new players and chases them away. Perks are absolutely necessary to play, especially when you're new and need all the help you can get.
BHVR should have removed perk tiers on top of this prestige update. The grind is still way, way too much for new players.
Well articulated. Seems removing perk tiers would have been the cherry on top.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
this would be great because i have every character at least level 50, so all i would need to do before the update drops is prestige them.
Same here! All my Killers and survivors are at least P0 Level 50 (Others are P3 with all the perks anyway but that's not relevant) so I just need to hit prestige before the update goes live and then every character will have every perk. Good stuff, although it'll be a pain when a new survivor and killer comes out because we'll have to get them both to P3 for the rest of the characters to unlock their tier 3 perks.
-
Unpopular opinion but who cares what prestige level you're on other than hitting P3 to unlock all perks. It's just bragging rights and has no impact on the game itself.
The 'it's unfair!' and 'I've played longer so I'm entitled to this...' comments just sound pathetic imo. People will always find something to complain about 🙄

I believe so, but want confirmation ASAP so I can prestige all my survivors and Killers. Don't care about loosing the add-ons if it means every character will have every perk.

Why do bragging rights matter?
Literally insecurity. 'Look at me and how amazing I am to have unlocked this'.
-
@Peanits said:
70 perk tiers, yes, you'd only be given one bonus prestige.
I have about 14 survivors who are P0 Level 50 with about 70 perks.
If I prestiged them 14 so they're P1 Level 1 before the release, will they all be P3 when the release goes live and thus unlocking all the perks for my other survivors (who are P0 Level 50 but with every perk on tier 3).
-
I don't really know what you are trying to achieve with this post...
People tend to vent on the forums so naturally it will always been more negative here. I'm sure those people also have chill games every now and then, just as I'm sure you have frustrating games too.
-
Like this idea. In principle it's a very weak perk, but will help educate a lot of Killers with how to mindgame. Should definitely be considered!

So then it should be tied to LoS... if the survivors character can't physically see me than it shouldn't reveal me. Hell clearly they can do LoS tricks because new spine chill is only working specifically if the killer has LoS so I don't see why they can do the same.
You're missing the point. Survivors play in 3rd person, if they're behind certain objects they can see you. Killers play in 1st person, so it's easier to implement LoS.
"If the survivors character can't physically see me..." There is no point using real life logic to try and justify changes. How can survivors heal themselves after having a hook through their chest? Why can't the killer stab the survivors to death? Why can't survivors jump or lay down? It's a video game, it isn't real life.
-
28 here. I'd say the majority of players are in the 14 - 30 range, but of course people of all ages play.
As others have said, based on some of the comments on this forum and how people behave in games, it definitely looks like more children play than adults.
-
I admit tbagging can get under your skin every now and then, but you just need to learn to ignore it. As others have said, once EGC starts just go round finding pallets, or afk until it's over.
Tbagging to show off and annoy the killer is toxic and the people who do it are immature children, but don't let it get to you. Plus I wouldn't want them to take the feature away as I love tbagging to my mates and other survivors during the game... just to say hi, when making mistakes etc...

No, that’s not how it works. He’ll have to P3 the character with the teachables he wants maxed out to be freely given to the other characters. If he doesn’t, he’ll still have to go through the blood web and level up those teachables on existing and new characters.
Read his post again, he is correct.
All the Killers the op mentioned are P1 and have all the perks at T3. This means on release day those Killers will automatically be on P3 or more, unlocking those as teachables for the rest of his killers (1 free level for being on P1 already, and X free levels based on the amount of perks he has, assuming op has at least 70 on each).
-
Personally I'm all for it, providing there's an option to mute players. I think it would drastically help SoloQ.
