There is, patrolling and defending gens must be more efficient than camping/tunneling.

It is not the case anymore with the huge regression perks nerf.

If you play a killer that cannot, power wise, end chases in less than 30 seconds, the game is a guaranteed loss if you do not camp/tunnel the 1st survivor out of the game.

I agree that COB should keep higher regression BUT should have the info removed to encourage people to couple it with surveillance and not other op gen regress perks as we’ve seen that heavily abused before.

Pretty much all killers of the roster cannot win a game without camping/tunneling at a good MMR.

You do not even see how OP the survivors still are...

I get there is a time and a place for camping/tunneling. Particularity against tough teams, comp and just those games where gens are flying and there’s no other option. It has its place I’m just hoping there’s be a way to discourage people from easily doing it right from the start or circumstances where it doesn’t call for it because it might sound petty but outside of those specific situations it just sucks to see. No skill, no fun. Borderline exploity.

Total fail, made even worse by the fact that it was the killer straight after The Knight.

Send her back to Fortnite where she belongs. Think she is beyond saving. The changes they made to make her less painful to go against made her seem even worse! Only got out of a 40 minute game against her yesterday because she got too greedy chasing me across an Auto Haven map when I purposely made myself exposed to bait her. Painful to play against.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the sole purpose of dull merchant was for future collabs with other games like fortnite. DBD needs to get back to its traditional horror roots.

I cannot think this countermeasure to camping to be good one. It does not actually prevent camping and for many killers it hardly makes a difference, this only makes it obnoxious to maneuver around the hook for the killer. Playing as the killers that do have it, it is rather irritating trying to use a power in a direction facing away and being unable to do so because you just hooked someone and now have to walk X metres because reasons, potentially losing the timing for your power in the process.

If you want an actual anti-camping measure, look no further than the Cages of Atonement, they are far more effective against camping while also being undisruptive to killer gameplay. Hooks are and have always been what enables camping and they are the core of the problem, not killer powers.

Well I can’t imagine getting rid of hooks is a realistic suggestion, could be wrong?

But yeah the whole point is to make it annoying for killers to want to be around hooked survivors so don’t get what the argument against it would be? One problem I see with it is that ranged killers and others could charge their power just outside of the radius and shoot in leaving the change more of a nuisance rather than effective.

Other ideas such as buffing reassurance and getting rid of healthy grabs are good and maybe the solution is lots of little things and new perks like that if no one can think of a one-all-be-all solution?

Just today a doctor was spam shocking me so I physically couldn’t unhook the survivor at all due to the spam scream animation. The survivor died and the killer got a 4K, surely this isn’t the way the developers want killers to be playing or ‘winning’ their games.

Irregardless it’s good for these discussions to happen I think.

  • She comes across as a killer that’s had just a bunch of different ideas all rolled into one failed mess.

In a perfect world, she would be recalled and multiple good killers could be made from each part of her:

    • A silent Assassin
    • A Cyberpunk Scavenger
    • A luring/seductive she-monster (siren?)
    • A terminator/half robototic
    • A girl-boss :/
    • A nerdy weeb copycat killer
    • An actual merchant that has anything to do with skulls lol. Like what functional point is there to add a skull to an already (I’m sure) expensive and capable drone!!

Anyway.. so many directions this killer could have gone but yeah overall in a perfect world she would be recalled.

Easy solution is to give her a non-drone related chase power or give her a permanent drone that follows her and makes chase fun somehow then change how the standard drones work to balance it all out.

Also rename her and change her default skin and fix her walk/glide animation and give her a more power-related mori and find the rest of her clothes :)

"Tunneling - If there are at least 3 survivors in match, no blood points are given if the same person is hooked twice in a row."

This should not be the definition of Tunneling. If I hook someone and get in chase with someone else and they escape. After this I encounter the person last on hook. I think "Okay, they were hook last. I'll let the escape". I'm sorry but if I encounter them again they are going on hook if I down them. Not to mention sometime in the heat of the moment I totally forgot who was hooked last.

Yeah it’s a good point, it’s tough to keep track and I’m guilty of unintentionally ‘tunneling’ myself sometimes.

There have been some good suggestions from others here though like buffing reassurance and getting rid of healthy hook grabs. Either way it’s good to see others ideas.

I'm sure many of you are tired of hearing complaints about the new dead hard nerf, however I just wonder why BHVR didn't keep dead hard the way it was in the PTB that it disabled if it successfully protected you from damage (if it took you into deep wound).

Now even if you just missclick it or use it and get exhausted without it successfully protecting you, it disables.

Now I understand what people mean with it being truly dead. BHVR could keep it as it is, but I would love if they could add that it disables only if it puts you into deep wound, meaning you could use it several times per hook state until you've hit it. What do you think about this suggestion? That would be more balanced.

I agree. It’s an exhaustion perk so it should be affected by .. well .. exhaustion.

It also has a window of 0.5secs use! People complaining about it don’t notice the majority of times it fails compared to when it gets value.

Just because it’s meta doesn’t mean it’s required to be nerfed so hard. It’s a fun perk that can also keep high skilled killers in check.

I just finished a game against a SWF that literally stayed together the whole match, even at the hook.

I ended up only killing 3 (due to Spirit's absurd hit box), but what else do you want a Killer to do in that situation?

Just wonder off to do nothing?

A lot of Survivors are extremely aggressive on unhooking. As long as they play that way, Killers are going to stay at the hook.

Hell, Man, I'm even running Devour Hope, and I can't get 24m away before they unhook.

Survivor play is the reason camping works.

Playing against an aggressive swf team isn’t the situation where camping and tunnelling is a huge problem though. I’m sure they would actually expect you to do so if they’re playing that way. Comp-like style.

There needs to be a way to disincentive ‘lazy’ killers who are just looking for an easy win or just ensure others have a miserable time.

    Suggestions:

Camping - All killers powers can’t proc around a radius of a hooked survivor. Not just certain ones like dredge or artist. It’s currently really inconsistent for some reason?

Tunneling - If there are at least 3 survivors in match, no blood points are given if the same person is hooked twice in a row.

    Something like that.

While it is understood that in the right hands and with the right build any killer can go from being crappy to being very strong. However I do believe that there are some killers that while with most perk/addon builds would remain generally low tier, under the right circumstances not only become strong, they become so strong that they can hold a 5 gen with ease.

I'm curious to see out of these options what killer people think is the most misunderstood/misjudged when it comes to their full potential. If you have a certain opinion on it please list any perk/addon builds as well and what makes it so strong on that killer.

Almost any of them in the right hands.

Pig because of her slowdown and ability to check boxes,

Ghostface with certain add ons eliminates chases

Trapper with web, shack and major snowball potential

    etc

  • They seem like swf perks to me which is strange considering there was a lot of talk not long ago about closing the gap between swf and solo players.

Either way they’re near impossible to get value out of in solo from my experience. Maybe others have had better luck?

  • It’d also be good if you could mix and match different fits (including weapons) in store.

  • There’s quite a few options she has that can be mixed and matched for a non-punk look, it’s what I do for her because I’m not a big fan of her or Jeff’s punk looks much either.

Not sure how she’d look in a frilly dress though 🤣. If Kate’s Alice in Wonderland dress makes her look frumpy imagine what they’d do to Nea haha

  • I’ve brought up STBFL needing to be mildly tuned down a while ago but there are certain people that will not hear it. Fact is, it’s a perk that can completely deny unhooks/trades and that’s the biggest problem it has.

I don’t believe it’s the most urgent issue but it’s numbers really should have been adjusted alongside the killer hit recovery change a long while ago.

  • I barely see her either (thank god) but I just went up against the same one twice in a row and it killed my entire mood to play dbd so had to get off the game.

  • They should take more time but they won’t. Even just making her visually horror-themed would go a long way for most but someone at behaviour had an own goal of adding Kris Jenner into the game for god knows what reason.

  • If it were to even come back, it would have to have an RPD treatment where it becomes less claustrophobic.

You're thinking of Prometheus, which is... like, related to the Alien franchise, which is often associated with the Predator franchise. Even in AVP they didn't use anything like the drones. The thing they look at in the beginning of AVP is a straight up layout of the facility, since it's a Predator temple.

Anyway, I've seen that video. She's very very obviously inspired by the Predator, but that doesn't mean she actually was a predator at some point. Like the wristblade, the theme of skulls, the triangle symbol on her documents, the fact they keep referring to her as "predatory" in the behind the scenes video, it's all quite obviously meant to point at what inspired the character.

The thing is that if they had to rush out a change, they picked the weirdest stuff to actually change. The UI element with the 3 dots would have been extremely easy for them to change. There's no reason for them to include the red triangle symbol at all. There was no need to have any mention of skulls in her name.

    All of that is aesthetic.

Her power and character model, the stuff that would have taken the longest to change and adjust, have nothing to do with the Predator. Why would they turn an 8-foot-tall hulking alien into a normal-sized human woman instead of just adjusting the skeleton they built into a monster or something? And Predators never use their wrist computer to track people via a radar, or use drones to hunt in the way she does, it just doesn't make any sense for this character to have been a slap-dash attempt to have covered for a lost license.

I can believe that maybe they were in talks to get the Predator license, and it seemed like they were going to, but the deal fell through for whatever reason, but they'd already workshopped some ideas and decided to just use them to make an original character, instead. But that's the extent of what I can buy may have happened.

Also it's not like she prevents us from getting Predator because of how different she is. Like look at Legion and Ghost Face. Legion is obviously inspired by Ghost Face, but their power doesn't work at all like anything Ghost Face does in the Scream movies. We still got Ghost Face despite Legion being there, literally only 1 chapter after we got Legion, too. Meanwhile the actual Ghost Face does feel much closer to the Scream movies (despite not actually being a Scream license, but still, it's obvious they based him on the movies).

I wasn't around at the time, but I wonder if people were like "They were supposed to be Ghost Face!" when we got Legion, because they honestly have about as much in common with Ghost Face as Skull Merchant does with Predator.

I think we’re both agreeing on the same thing here which is this chapter is not an original idea and is quite heavily influenced by Predator/Prey. If it was done well it wouldn’t be as much of an issue because I like Billy for example and he’s apparently ‘Bubba at home’ but other than a chainsaw the similarities between them aren’t as in-your-face obvious as the hints in this chapter are to Predator/Prey. To me the chapter feels like multiple ideas sticky taped together (much like her ‘Predator at home’ weapon is sticky taped to her arm) and feels incomplete, soulless and filler-like.

At the end of the day we don’t know for sure what the deal is and won’t know unless someone from the company explains it. I hope your right that this chapter doesn’t mean we’ll never get a Predator/AVP chapter in the future cuz that would be even more of a reason to hate this chapter lol.

Either way, this is the first chapter I can’t bring myself to buy, see if the next chapter is worth sticking around.

I mean original Freddy was much closer to the movies than live Freddy, but the inaccuracy to the movies is one of the biggest criticisms of Freddy, no?

They at least tried to base him on the movies. Freddy's power over the environment in the dream world is represented by his ability to teleport and create illusions.

The drones literally aren't from anything in Predator.

I’ve seen multiple Alien v Predator movies where drone-like machines are used to scan an area ahead in non-lethal ways. Usually by humans but the Predators can and have read this information on their wrist machine thing. In AVP when first entering the temple for example.

I think this Predator chapter has been adapted enough to not be sued. There’s tonnes of other examples so if you watch Pauline esters video on YouTube it fills in a lot of gaps as well.

  • I’m not spending real money on this chapter. Will avoid even using in game currency as best as I can.

  • Any game company that truely cares about quality over quantity would absolutely not release this chapter until:

    1) Every and all references/hints to Prey are taken out of the chapter - truly make it an original if you can’t get a license.

    2) Complete visual rework of killer - lean into the ‘skull merchant’ name ig. Skull mask, bone weapon maybe?

    3) Power tweaks

    4) Good chase music

    5) A mori and animations that makes sense

    6) Lore overhaul to adapt to new changes

I would have preferred if they said they couldn’t release a new chapter due to complications, sorry but here’s the map and eruption reworks for now!

  • @Pulsar said:

There's no shot they're gonna talk about this.

True, just thought it’s worth a shot on the off chance we get an explanation for this monstrosity of a chapter.

  • @Ripley said:

I like the killer, it seems to bring all the casual misogynists out of their hiding.

    Average Twitter user..

It’s a very underwhelming chapter and she’s a very underwhelming killer. The whole thing is just left over Predator chapter with sexy lady thrown in because couldn’t get license. First chapter I can’t bring myself to buy.

  • I would have no issue if they wanted more time to come up with another killer design. The new map designs and perk reworks are great so I’d be happy to wait even months for them to get this killer/chapter right before an official release.

  • All valid points above. I don’t want to imagine a Nurse trial without dh in the back pocket though.

Unless you absolutely cannot see anything at all, as in you literally can’t even see the floor you’re walking on let alone what is directly in front of you

Not to be rude, but that’s the point of nightfall. It darkens the map and makes your visual distance next to nothing

Well yeah there are games where I literally can’t see anything at all which is why I posted this. I’ve seen other players saying they see survivors running unintentionally into corners and walls of the map due to complete darkness - easy mode for dredge.

Dredge can instantly teleport anywhere on the map during this time while also being undetectable, why do I additionally have to be completely blind where I can’t even ‘fight’ back. I’m not a new player either so not even being able to tell which map I’m on due to not being able to even see the ground like you mentioned seems a little much.

I’ll play with my settings as it might be something to do with that as someone else has mentioned.

  • I started seeing less over time and I think it’s because people got all their cosmetics but don’t realise it also increases bp’s. Tbf even I had to read it twice to double check whether they did or not and it’s not stated till right at the end from memory.

  • Honestly shout out those who worked on the activity hud. I play exclusively solo and although it’s still new, so hard to say how much it’ll effect gameplay longer term, I’m loving the extra info - particularly the chase, recover and exit gate ones. Massive props.

I like what they’ve done with the Eyrie map as well, the new statue structure is aesthetic af lol even if the playability of it is a little.. eh haha.

But yeah overall thumbs up on most of it.

  • Based on how well Eruption synergises with other strong perks, I don’t believe there needs to be as much info alongside the gen regression in one perk alone. I like the stackable idea though.

  • I like the new map but it could’ve done with a more interesting main building though.. even just for aesthetic purposes.

  • Couldn’t agree more. Now it’s just the waiting game till it’s changed, if it’s even going to be changed? Kinda sucks though cuz it takes out a lot of fun playing dbd atm.

  • @Mooks said:

It’s been reported and should be a something they will adjust soon! Maybe something they need to do with the host and therefore takes some time?

Hey thanks for your reply, hopefully it will get fixed soon. Also hope they’ll add a sorting option so the newest made polls are always at the top rather than old polls I must’ve voted on or clicked on in the past. It’s hard to distinguish new vs old atm.

The problem with reducing the RT for ALL killers is that it will reduce the power of Starstruck for the weaker killers, with whom perk is not an issue; only the RT of the nurse should be reduced, it would be fairer to the other killers ☺️

On the other hand, no, stop with this idea of transforming his M1s into M2s: it seems that you have been traumatized by nurses using Jolt, Sloppy butcher and K.O. 😁

I have for sure been traumatised 😂🤣. Bottom line, I like nurse, I don’t really want to change her because I do think it’s healthy for DBD to have a killer like her that completely breaks the typical surv/killer interaction - keeps people on their toes y’know, but yeah 9/10 games against her is just.. I don’t have words. Just small quality of life changes are needed possibly, I do think that her 2 blinks being different from each other in multiple ways could make her more fun and strategic to play and hopefully to play against as well. Time and testing will tell.

People won't miss out. They'll be back next holiday season.

I get business is business. I’m guessing this tech has been a financial success for other bigger games but it’s still a form of manipulation.

  • If they just did this with ‘Deck the Trials’ it wouldn’t be as bad but really don’t like any other outfit being taken away and included in this fomo business.

I own quite a lot of them already but don’t feel good about it now because I don’t want others to think I fall for fomo tech and I don’t want to promote it to other players.

Apparently the devs said they didn’t want to release a second prestige set because they don’t like people show boating or missing out.. what the hell is this then? Obv must’ve been a lie to cover up laziness by the looks of it.

Sorry devs if you read this, it’s harsh feedback but this doesn’t feel right imo. Maybe you’ll make bank though ig?

  • Yeah her TR needs to be lowered and a lullaby added. Either that or the perk itself (starstruck) should lower the killers TR so its works best when synergised with other perks. One of her blinks should count as a special attack as well.

Also while I’m at it lol, make it rewarding/more possible to stun her, there’s no incentive to do so now.

  • Harry Potter lol. I reckon it could be pulled off, tonnes of characters to choose from.

I had an idea for a perk change that I’d appreciate for solo. ‘Better than new’, instead of a yellow aura, have the gens aura start white then gradient to deeper yellow/red depending on the progress of the gen.

It’s not a final fix but it’s like how kindred helps with unhook info, this would give use something for gen progress. Would be at least a step in the right direction in closing the gap between swf comms and solo I reckon.

Sorry I meant ‘Situational Awareness’. The Nancy perk that highlights the gen you’re working on to other survivors.

  • I had an idea for a perk change that I’d appreciate for solo. ‘Better Together’ - instead of a yellow aura, have the gens aura start white then gradient to deeper yellow or red depending on the progress of the gen.

  • It needs a secondary effect like - if you are within a certain radius of a downed survivor, they can recover faster or pick themselves up? Kind of like a reverse unbreakable maybe could be interesting?

  • I personally would prefer to have them as characters rather than skins but it’s not a priority for me.

The priority though should be a Chris rework (the others are great imo) to make his face less (gaunt?) and shoulders less slouchy. He’s a Boulder punching machine so why does Felix look better than Chris while wearing a Chris skin haha and Carlos looking infinitely more fit? Makes no sense.

RE fans more likely to try out the game and buy chapters/skins if the characters are represented well.

  • Great idea. The daily’s have needed some attention for a while and this sounds good 👍

Bubba's ability to facecamp is a relic from a long-past era of DBD. Something needs to be done about this. Almost every single Leatherface plays this way and it is beyond frustrating to get 3K BP through no fault of your own.

Likewise, this strategy is viable. It isn't like you'd be throwing to attempt this. You can get consistent 3K's even if Survivors correctly counter you.

If locker saves are being removed because they remove Killer agency and feel unfair, Bubba's ability to facecamp needs to get yeeted into next week.

    https://youtu.be/y5mBTNZP4v0

I’m honoured when being facecamped by a bubba (being hit on hook a bonus) but yeah somewhat agree that all killers powers should be limited or not available around the radius of hooked survivor. Artist and dredge have that limitation so why not others?

  • @TheRockstarKnight said:

I'd rather they revert Killer attack recovery speed back to pre-6.1.0 instead of nerfing Stabiffel.

Most M1 dudes aren't getting a ton of value from the slightly faster basekit M1s, but it does make a big difference for the S and A tier Killers like Blight, Nurse, and Spirit, who can use their ability to catch up after an M1.

That said, they could also just leave attack recovery untouched. Personally I don't think Stabiffel or basekit attack recovery are a big issue.

I think a more pressing problem is the divide between soloQ and SWF as well as the insane add-on disparity between certain Killers (I do not understand how Twin's "Stale Biscuit" and Nemesis' "Marvin's Blood" get nerfed in a game where Spirit's "Yakuyoke Amulet" and Blight's "Alchemist Ring" exist).

Yeah I was surprised the perk wasn’t rebalanced along with the base kit recovery speed but yeah for sure there are other areas of the game that need higher priority balancing.

  • I’d be keen to see bots replace DC’d teammates. Even one that would just sit on a gen would still give a fighting chance.

  • Nurse.

I’ve always backed nurse but the more time goes on the more I find myself saying “how is this even allowed” lol.

  • Maybe a good balance could be:

Whenever a killer snuffs a boon, it adds an extra x (10s?) to the next time that surv tries to reboon?

The extra time stacks (indefinitely?) and this should be balanced enough to be basekit.

    Thoughts?

  • The bubble is good but it blocks the killers aura for the first couple of seconds. This surely isn’t intentional and hope it’s addressed asap.

  • The portraits look cool but I was hoping for an animated version of the bloody cosmetics, nothing too fancy, just a little something to show the sheer amount of bp’s that had gone into that character before the change. Hopefully not fully off the table for the future?

  • Red forest is one massive dead zone (turn middle tree into fun main?), Temple is ok-ish. Badham & swamp need updates.
