  • Complete rework.

You can polish a turd but it’ll just be a shiny turd.

  • When Nea came out it was a joke that she was the Entity because she was a little difficult to look at lol. Probably same thing with Haddie. When leaks released a pic of her and Dredge, I had to ask which one the killer was lol (just based on the images we had).

They’ve both had qol changes since so perhaps the jokes are from their original release times.

  • It comes out tomorrow my bad

  • A Blendette collection. Lots of camo etc

  • I’m going to take a wild guess and say maybe maps are being designed with less-experienced players in mind? I don’t know the stats but maybe the vast majority of players are a lot more casual who possibly need bigger maps, more ‘junk’ and pallets in order to not be downed instantly? Most probably don’t understand what connecting pallets are for example let alone how to use them optimally.

That being said, map variety is good so would be great to see a map or rework that has more experienced players input in mind.

  • I suck at flashlight saves too haha but slowly getting better with practice. If it’s a blind challenge I’ll usually go with Blast Mine as it’s much easier to pull off.

Dying survivors trigger skull checks? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. Thank you for your answer though!

Yep all healing triggers skill checks so you can get autodidact value if your healing a dying or injured survivor. It just comes down to whether your lucky enough to get skill checks. Autodidact won’t effect you healing yourself though is the only difference.

  • Not sure about his perks but I’m predicting one of Nicholas Cage’s perks is going to be like residual manifest/pharmacy but with maps instead, in reference to the Declaration of Independence he stole in one of his movies. Just a fun prediction.

  • Hard to say so early on, I’m as much pessimistic as I am hopeful considering the last chapter.

Overall the story, theme and map look great although there are concerns regarding map playability.

From the little bit I’ve seen of the killer, I’m worried it looks a little like it could be a Dredge skin if he was cosplaying as Skull Merchant lol (remember I’m pessimistic atm) but I could be wrong. If his power is optimal for 3 genning then it’s most likely game over for a lot of players.

Still hopeful though, it could be great, fresh and fun.

  • I think what needs to be done is revert the chase buff, inconsistent speed boosts, they gave her post PTB. A survivor doing the right thing by disabling her drones always ends up just punishing other survivors who may already be, or are about to be, in chase.

Instead they should give her some kind of actually chase power like a dash or something. It’ll pretty much be what pig or demo have but it’ll at least be something within her control.

In regards to multi story exposing from drones, idk tbh, only thing I can think of is not have them work through walls or at the very least only be half as effective.

  • Anti camping and tunnelling perks are considered bandaids but this is an attempt of core mechanic change. We won’t be able to know for sure if it’ll be effective or abusable until PTB so will be interesting.

If Bubba’s the main concern, someone posted a good idea which was make him go into tantrum if his chainsaw put someone into deep wounds.

  • That would be so sick. I also think a fighting style killer like maybe a collab with WWE or something.

  • It’s actually a really good idea.

If true, I guess it's fine and only the pure campers (e.g. Bubba carricatures) will be affected, which is good.

Does that mean no more Basement Bubba? xD

No more face camp bubba it’s seems :(

I hate tunnelling and proxy camping as much as the next (unless it’s late game/called for etc) but nothing makes me laugh more than a Bubba hitting me on hook, nodding and just doing all the ‘toxic’ stuff haha

  • That would almost always guarantee an exit for survivor though which isn’t really fair imo. I don’t mind the rng of it. Usually if there’s only one survivor left to open an exit gate, the killer has done a good job and probably deserves the chance to choose their fate as well.

  • Yeah it happens every now and again but very rarely. Glad I’m not the only one haha

  • Ok so this is the last time I’ll comment on this post as it’s strayed beyond DBD-related content and I’m sorry for my part in that.

Some people love it, some people hate it. It’s behaviour that decides these things at the end of the day and all I wanted to do was understand more and offer an alternative view on adding real world/controversial topics into a game I love to play and have spent probably too much money on over the years.

Not everyone’s going to agree on all the same topics so there’s not really much more else to say. I’m glad to have had my say and all the best.

Inclusion and representation is fine, but celebration of things like gender identity and sexuality seems out of place in a video game. When you go beyond diverse characters and start including the banner of real world movements then people will feel like activism is happening in their games like @Brandon48 mentioned. I understand you feel differently on this, that the cause is more important and deserves to be treated differently, but I don't think video games are the place for it. The communities that great video games build around them is worth celebrating, and that includes everyone.

You explain things so much better than I do haha! I wholeheartedly agree with all of this.

Firstly this game is rated M for Mature so kids shouldn't be on it and if that's the case then let's remove any hint of sexuality from anything. You are being extremely vile with your statement and I honestly feel BHVR should reconsider you being allowed in this formum and on the game period.

The words/meaning you're trying to convey is exactly why Queer people are being harmed daily, under this false guise of "protect the children" when Queer people do nothing to harm kids; your statement is evil and very disgusting.

I already explained the kid comment being a side comment rather than the actual question I was asking. Read before you try to cancel others hey.

Well, I can understand where you are coming from, but it mainly hinges on society norms and acceptance as a whole.

The pride flags would not have existed if the LBGT+ community had been provided rights and not faced discrimination; and since we are still fighting for rights, like in Texas and Tennessee (which is where I live, I do not receive many health care benefits for being transfem, just to provide an example), as well as dealing with other misc. discrimination, I would not expect these flags or symbols to go away anytime soon.

Obviously, this isnt the answer you are hoping for. The best you can do at the moment is just ignore the charms or content altogether, realistically, a single charm or cosmetic does not really affect gameplay. In DBD, you can still hack and slash people as Killer without caring about who they are, or run away from a Killer without really caring as well. You can take more extreme route and remove those assets from the game files entirely or replace them in the game files, though be careful doing so since you can be banned by the anti-cheat.

Mm ok so it seems like it will never stop because it will always change the goal posts and require something different with constant activism. Alright well best of luck with everything and thank you again for explaining things so well :) really appreciated.

I thought we left that idiocy in the past a few decades ago but here we go again.

Watch out y'all, the gay agenda is coming for you. (If I could roll my eyes any harder I'd do permanent damage.)

Apparently being LGBTQ+ means you're automatically an activist? And LGBTQ+ people just fight for equal rights and media representation because they're just... angry? But don't worry "the gays" are totally cool as long as they sit down, shut up, and be tolerant of others' intolerance.

I could keep tearing down this response for hours but holy ######### is this some backwards ass logic.

How does someone actually believe that a person being gay doesn't make them LGBTQ+? The cognitive dissonance is astounding.

I could say the same about you regarding cognitive dissonance and btw everyone else does sit down and shut up about their sexual lives. You’ll really only see those conversations between friends etc.

Because even though it is a "sexuality" it does not inherently mean it's entirely "sexual".

A lot of the pride flags are a representation of who we love, who we want to be partners with, it's about being with someone you can say "I love you" to, someone you can hold hands with and hug. They are a symbol of self-fulfillment as well, showing that you have come to terms with who you are as a person.

To put it bluntly, it is about relationships and being proud of who you are. A lot of these groups have faced discrimination, including myself, dealing with years of abuse as a result, so I wear these flags with pride, to show that I overcame the odds and that I still have a voice.

That’s a really nice answer and thank you for sharing that with me.

I guess it leads me to ask, how long does the world have to wait until we can go about our lives, including playing our video games, without having to know everyone’s sexuality? When does it end because I keep seeing things like: ‘it’s doesn’t stop here’, ‘we’ve only just begun’ etc etc and there’s a new gender or something to ‘fight’ for every week. It’s like bruh, I just want to play a horror game without having to know anything about the people I’m killing or being chased by lol. I hope that’s not too disrespectful to ask after such a nice response from you.

the existence of LGBTQ+ people is absolutely not political at all. No matter how you wanna twist it.

LGBTQ+ is an activist group. The more time goes on, the more I see gay people separating themselves from them and realising it teaches them nothing but how to be angry activists. They realise they have ssm and all these other genders and gender dysphoria, mental health issues have nothing or very little to do with them. Equal laws requires equal responsibility to not make their sexuality their entire persona. Behaviour seems a little late on this memo and will continue to pander to activism which will only result in the activists wanting more and more and never being happy (longer than short term praise/confirmation). No issues with the gaes, they cool, but completely over the activism that never does as it preaches, be tolerant or accept others not of their views.

  • A win for me is whether or not I had a fun and productive/interactive match. Try different perks out, it might help!

First it was that kids shouldn't see it, then it's because it's a political issue, then it's that it doesn't fit in the game, then when I explain why it would, it's that the characters wouldn't support it....you really, really need to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself why this bothers you so much that you keep coming up with reasons to be upset over it. The charms are so small that you barely see them anyway, so why are you so upset over this? It's certainly not "immersion" as you keep claiming it is.

I mentioned earlier that there are multiple reasons why I believe adding sexual activism to DBD is not deemed by all as an overall good thing.

The kids comment was just a side note that people latched onto instead of answering the main question being where I asked why he felt the need to broadcast his sexuality to everyone.

I don’t think it’s professional decision making from Behaviour and believe it’s working against the long-term interests of the game but I know they’ll just dig their heels in so I’ll leave it at that, I’ve said my peace.

No hate, have a good one.

So your argument is, despite humans being in the game, and the story being that they come from the real world, because killers kill people *and YOU FEEL* that the killers would be against ssm these shouldn't be in the game? Sounds a hell of a lot like you're projecting and looking for issues where there aren't any.

Ironic that I would be labelled as someone projecting my ‘feels’ into the game considering what we’re talking about. Do you really think a High Priestess from BC times would be rocking an activist flag from 2023? It doesn’t make sense and therefore - un-immersive. It takes away the huge amount of work that’s been put into making her feel like she’s from another timeline. Horror is my priority.

  • @Slaphappyhobbit said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3430893#Comment_3430893

How is it unimmersive? The storyline is literally people getting ripped from the real world (or whatever world the character belongs to) into the fog. You don't think some of those characters that get sent into the fog are going to be LGBTQ+?

Does it really make sense that Michael Myers or Plague or Knight or any other killer or survivor from another timeline would have an activist flag representing sexualities that have only existed in the last few years? If you want to assign them a sexuality in your head that’s fine and that’s for you.

But the answer is no, it does not fit the theme or immersion of the specific characters or overall game. These killers have nothing to do with sexuality and most would historically and culturally be against ssm ftr.

Not to mention the flags that are already in the game stick out like a sore thumb AND it literally has a light interaction that no other charm has if I’m not mistaking making them consequential.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3430759#Comment_3430759

Country flags may very well lead to political topics and controversies (see Russia or China and Taiwan) and holidays are often tied to religious beliefs which are chosen and therefor very much very personal for some.

how can you understand including these but somehow sexuality/sexual identity (which isn’t sexual activism) isn’t understandable?

also, heterosexuality as well as cis gender identity doesn’t seem like something people think about as personal when you look at any kind and form of media?

The LGB(etc) IS political and controversial, just because you might identify yourself as part of the group (or support it from the side) doesn’t make it any more acceptable than adding countries or religion if that’s the professional standard chosen for DBD.

It IS absolutely activism, whether that’s your personal reason for supporting the group/individuals or not.

If someone wanted to broadcast their heterosexuality in DBD how would they go about that. I could be wrong but as far as I’m aware, no definitive sexuality has been assigned to any other charm or character (other than David) and surprise surprise, it was due to sexual activism.

Just want to quickly note for the record because I understand this is a sensitive topic for some, I’m usually indifferent about all the LGB(etc) stuff and keep out of it, me bringing this up is purely regarding Behaviour and their controversial decisions to bring sexual activism into DBD. If they choose to include things like this, it’s natural that conversations regarding it is bound to happen.

  • @Slaphappyhobbit said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3430678#Comment_3430678

Why does it have to be their sexuality? I'm straight, and I use the pride flag tag on some of my characters because I support the community and feel they need to have equal rights. I've got family members and friends that are part of the community. Doesn't mean I'm LGBTQ+ just because I have that flag on my hook.

That’s very nice of you but my argument is that sexual activism flags are un-immersive for many reasons in dbd. I know a lot of people mean good but I believe there are more consequences to these decisions than what’s been discussed.

Also isn’t Behaviour a Canadian company? Hasn’t same sex marriage been legal these for ages now? So where’s the unequal rights?

bro this game is for people that are 18+ i don’t give a damn about the kids that shouldn’t even be playing this game and why do u care about me wanting a charm that includes snd shows my sexuality u don’t need to redeem the code or reply to my post

Ok thanks for your reply. I just wanted to understand why there’s such an outcry for people wanting to tell me what their sexuality is in the game because for me it’s completely immersion breaking to have sexual activism flags in dbd. From what I can understand people just ‘want’ to and to hell what others think about it. But anyway appreciate your responding.

  • Genuine question. Why do you feel the need to broadcast your sexuality to everyone and anyone in a video game? Especially considering I’m sure lots of kids play this game as well.

  • I dare anyone to find a demo in the wild that doesn’t have STBFL equipped lol. The synergy is crazy with his no-wind-up-needed shred.

  • Yeah it’s funny but would be really rare to come across 4 solos who would dare even try mess with Bubbas precious belongings lol.

  • I’ve noticed that even the S-tier killers are hard camping and tunnelling now. If I see a Nurse, Blight or Spirit now, I pretty confidently know it’s going to be one of ‘those’ matches. Good times..

  • I wish I had some positive or constructive advice for you for this situation but I’ve tried multiple times to counter SM’s most optimal and frequent gameplay with no luck or enjoyment. Even if there was an optimal way to counter it, it’s not something you could communicate reliably with your other solo teammates.

She’s the only killer in the game where if someone’s warns they’ll dc if it’s sm in lobby, everyone else is in full agreement and understanding.

  • Hook bubble transparency. Kindred doesn’t always show the killers aura for the first second or so, which is enough for some killers to be out of the radius in time. Not only auras, but it physically blocks you from seeing killer hurtling towards you after hook.

  • I almost always use dh when playing survivor and it really hit me when it got nerfed.

I’ve gotten to the point where I can live with the nerf if it makes things less frustrating for the killer BUT I would like to see a small improvement made to it where if you miss click or miss your dh for whatever reason, you can get that dh back after no longer being exhausted.

It seems only fair since it’s an exhaustion perk with a 0.5 window, while injured, that can only have 2 possible uses the entire match. I hope it’s something being considered at least.

  • Gen spawning is a big one as well. Sometimes a 3-gen is actually a 2-gen due to one of them being tucked into a corner behind the others or in a massive dead zone.

  • @EvilSerje said:

BHVR so scared that some kids playing killer will cry about someone showing "thumbs up/down" or waving "hello" in the exit gates, we will hardly see any new emote. I'm afraid if they remove existing two (after they "nerf" flashlight clicking).

Really respect asian devs, which don't give a damn about hurted feelings of some emotional kids, and there are tons of emotes, half of which could be easily used in harassing way. Simple thing is: people will always find a way to taunt their opponents, so this careful and frightened path of limiting as much as possible is similar to banning kitchen knives to prevent killers.

Yeah you have to be careful what feedback to take seriously because a lot of it is people just wanting to vent based on one bad experience or frustrating game. A thumbs up emote would be a pretty safe bet I’d think considering it’s a positive animation, if someone complains, it’s just a few compared to the many that would enjoy it .

  • @Emeal said:

Adding more variety for the survivors to do that the exit gate or from across the pallet, I bet the Killers will love this, except not.

Haha I did consider this but giving a thumbs up surely couldn’t be considered more rude that pointing? Then again, someone’s always mad at something in the world lol.

  • @Kasumiruuu said:

Honestly, yeah; we need more emotes in general. Maybe stuff like...

    • Thumbs down
    • Wait
    • Over here/Hello!
    • Hush/Shh!

Being able to customize emotes (obviously not extremely silly things like dances and whatnot, just simple gestures), would be a cool idea.

I like the “Hush/Shh” one! Would fit perfect I reckon.

  • It might encourage lobby dodging but being able to see perks in game I definitely agree with.

  • Current DBD no question.

It would be great though to see a realm, like Swamp maps for example, visually nod to the more nostalgic, dark and grungy aesthetic of older dbd.

  • Having buckle up affect injured to healthy as well as dying to injured would definitely make it more appealing for sure.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

    I'm kinda wanting a 3rd resident evil chapter...but I know most don't want that

I’d be keen. Everything that’s come from the RE license has been great so I wouldn’t be complaining at all. Variety is good though.

  • They’ve just changed gen spawns on Haddonfeild and added meh-pallets to some edge maps to address deadzones so there is hope. I just hope not every map reworks turns the map into a square, it kinda kills that character of the map a little, but that’s just me.

  • Dark Theory needs a buff is all I know.

  • Yep get rid of it. If a trade is worse case scenario for the camping killer that’s not bad at all.

Are we acting like Dredge wasn’t last years anniversary chapter? Knight is a fairly terrifying/intimidating Killer as well. I don’t think every single Killer needs to be deep rooted in pure horror. Look at Trickster. Deathslinger is an interesting take on Horror but not a character that you would immediately associate with horror, it’s just done different.

Dredge was still a fairly recent Killer in the game’s lifespan and it certainly brought some of that horror back. As others point out, everything stops being scary when you see it enough, including Dredge. SM brings a different type of horror, the idea of being hunted by an egotistical rich maniac who will kill you purely for the joy of sport, or because she sees you as competition. We haven’t had a killer like her previously. Her lore could be much better, but the core elements of her character are there, albeit scattered. Not everyone is into that, clearly, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Dredge is a great design and I appreciate him and haddie being integrated quite seamlessly into the game and I believe the overarching lore. The map could use a little tlc but tbf no map, killer, survivor, perk, or anything should ever be considered in its final form and should always be looking for improvement.

Knight too is a great visual design (except the emo hair imo lol) but the power hasn’t landed with most which is a big part of the killer/survivor experience.

Deathslinger is great but could be scarier I agree.

Trickster.. I’ve gone on the assumption that he’s a one off to please the thirsty crowd but obviously I was wrong to assume that. He does work in his own way though ig.

SM is Trickster 2.0 but trickster 2.0 at home. When I’m being chased by Dull Merchant, I don’t have the same head cannon you do regarding her intentions. The lore behind the killer means nothing if the killer themselves look like they’re from another game.

Take Huntress for example, probably my favourite killer in DBD. My head cannon is she’s a dangerous and wildly uncivilised forest woman who you know is human but maybe the entity has made her more ‘animalistic’ or ‘monstrous’ over time. Hunts and kills anything without mercy that comes across her path. She doesn’t need lore and tomes and rifts and skimpy outfits to justify her place as a ruthless killer that belongs in a horror game. Side note, her voice/noise acting is impeccable!

Ive got no issue with non-traditional horror killers and trying different things but it needs to be done right. My opinion is that, while I’m sure Kris Jenner is a scary lady, she doesn’t hold a candle to any of the other killers in this game. If you like her that’s great, now that she’s been released she’s not going anywhere so it’s good that some people like her ig.

I agree that COB + surcharge were way too strong, the regression rate was too big but devs have been too heavy on the nerf.

Also devs are basing all their changes on the kill rate stat... which is terrible as it is inflated by tunneler/camper. So they think killers get 55/60% kill rate while in reality, killers that do not camp/tunnel might have a kill rate of 35/40% (above average players).

When i'm looking on Twitch, there are pretty much no killer players anymore... it means a lot, the role is too stressfull and the game is way too unbalanced.

Prior to this patch i had mostly good games on both sides, it doesn't mean i was winning all the time but i had fun almost all the time. With 6.7.0, as a survivor it is a tunneling fest (and i understand why) and as a killer i face gen rush META S.W.A.T players...

It is mostly not fun at all.

They’ll figure it out, it’s their job after all. First things first is releasing a fun killer! It’s been a while lol
