  • From what I've heard its only based on escaping and kills.

    NO.

didn't dude say something like "you can be the best but if you die you die. You'd hope you could run the killer for years and do hundreds of gens, but if you die. Aw well. Better luck next time. You'd like to do all that and escape, but you can't always get your way . Too bad".

So I just had a match on the Midwich map where the killer had noed and got an undeserved 4k because of it. The only totem perk I had was counter force during this match. I spent a lot of time going around the map trying to find totems and did not find a SINGLE totem the entire time. Meanwhile my team was getting hooked and close to death, so I decided to stop looking for totems and work on gens. We got all the gens done and sure enough noed activates. The killer downs 2 survivors while the 3rd died on hook. Both were death hook so I felt my only chance was to either find the hatch or go for the door when the killer went looking for the hatch. Well the killer does go looking for the hatch, so I go for the door. Sure enough the hatch spawned very close to the exit gate I went to and I ended up getting downed too. All of this happened because of ONE PERK and it was NOT because I didn't try finding the totems. Anyone who tries to find totems on Midwich knows it feels like a lost cause unless you have perks/maps to show you where they are. When matches like this happen (and they happen a lot) I can't tell you how frustrated I get at the game.

NOED is an overpowered, unfair perk. The killer is given too much power and too much end game advantage all because the survivors didn't cleanse all the totems in time.

Should've brought in more than just a single perk then 🤔.

But it was undeserved because you didn't bring in any other perk/item. Or didn't level up your character. 🤷‍♂️

  • Noed. The anti altruism perk.

    1) if a killer has noed. Open the door and escape. Just leave. Go. Disappear.

    2) if they camp, find the totem and cleanse it. You have 4 minutes to infinite time to do that.

    3) they have 3 other perks. Unless they are the legends of aura perks your fine hiding and finding the totem.

    4) survivors already have things to counter hexes. Use them. Stop making excuses. Use them. You already use DS, BT, DH, Prove, etc. Use them. Stop complaining.

    5) if noed is used by bad killers and you get killed by it, your garbage. Trash, low tier. Got gud.

No, if there's a range for it, it becomes skill based. Currently no one ever tries skill shots with Iri Head because you only have one, so you save it when you can't miss. Removes the best part of Huntress, and is completely unfun for survivors. This fixes both problems.

I've agreed in the past that the insta downs should be at range, but that would still make them less than useful and unusable on some maps.

No, it would massively make her zoning power much stronger. It would also allow her snipes to be very lethal as well.

The only difference would be on the off chance of being able to hit a survivor from 24 meters they'd go down instantly.

  • I assumed the new character was going to be free 😐

  • If there was a range for it, it'd be useless.

  • I played a few games earlier on blight and I just played like any other killer and used his power to get a speed boost.

  • His power should read "a slight annoyance to survivors"

Other than that he isn't that strong

  • It's a good thing DS isn't an anti-tunnel perk then. It's a "just in case I'm downed again within 60 seconds" perk or an "anti-re-hook" perk. I'm hardly ever hit by a surprise DS. Sure, it still happens.

It's not a hard perk to counter either. The counter is to eat it as soon as possible. That's why you re down if you can. Same as UB.

  • That would suck because you could be barred from playing the killer you want. Which wouldn't be fun for the killer. I have every killer unlocked, but I don't wanna play every single one.

  • If I'm playing how I usually play, then I'll probably do nothing. Just go with whatever happens next in the game. So basically, not purposely punishing or taking advantage.

  • it can be a decent map for killer sometimes, but yeah...it does also suck

  • a lot of the perks are not very strong as is.

most can be negated within a few seconds and will require time to give any affect. which would mean stopping survivors from doing gens in general.

  • i have a related post that details a totem rework, but to make it simple.

each totem remaining on the map gives the killer 1 token (up to 5). blessed and hexed totems count toward tokens.

hexes that might require a totem will still inhabit a totem and will work as normal.

also you can use multiple hexes that go over 5. (example: if ruin needed 3 and devour needed 3. that totals 6, but both will activate since neither go past 5 tokens)

so to cleanse ruin if it needed 3 tokens. you'd have to cleanse 3 totems.

if crowd control needed 1 token, you'd have to cleanse all totems.

  • i would honestly prefer to know how well i am doing. like who am i going against, how good actually are they? i like winning, but is it worth it if i don't even know if i actually out-skilled or outplayed these guys? i feel bad if the survivors if i am going against are potatoes.

also, i don't want my base to be only 2 kills. i want to be able to get 4 without that assumption of 2 is desirable for a win. i shouldn't have to settle for 2 being okay in a game where i can get 4 because that's what they say and as far as i know it wasn't built for that.

I think most hexes are simply too strong to be permanent, but retribution shouldn't be a hex really.

In fact, retribution should be a perk that lights all totems, hex or not, and reveals the aura of survivors who cleanse any totem or hex or bless one.

It's simply not strong enough to run by itself, and even alongside other hexes the strength isn't really immense. No reason it couldn't simply be a aura reading perk for any totem cleansed or blessed, and this would actually make it a fun and viable perk against boons, since reblessing would reveal auras again.

    makes sense.

  • @feechima said:

I honestly think that behavior is moving away from Hex totems where the killers are concerned and focusing on making their powers about the hooks. They already said Scourge hooks are just the beginning of specialty hooks that result in status effects for survivors so I expect the next killer to have some sort of hook perk. I agree that current hex perks are too strong not to offer the option to cleanse them.

On the flip side, it appears that survivor perks will be more focused on hexes. If the community is losing it over these two perks, which I think will be nerfed, and rightly so, we can expect to see more of the same in future releases.

    that sounds reasonable.

Honestly we need Undying to be a perk and the skill will only transfer one hex to a new totem until there are none left however it will only allow you to put one hex on in compensation but you also have to know this won't be OP, Small game, detective's hunch with a map will easily cause the single hex to bounce around from totem to totem until they are cleased and broken which means it will be a fair counter to boons if you ask me.

As it stands I find hexes obsolete and won't use them until they are made to last more than 5 seconds at the start of a game.

i honestly was never with the idea of undying, at least where it is now. always thought thrill was better. (but we know how that turned out).

but yeah undying as a way to force survivors to cleanse and go without their boon perks would be nice and would give more meaning to "just do bones". but only one seems a bit much. as either way you can have multiple with less uses, or one with more uses. both being temporary and just as breakable.

  • @GuyFawx said:

I almost feel like hexes would work better as an offering instead of a perk so that they could potentially be a bit stronger as it is right now for a hex build you basically have 2 or 3 perks for hexes and protection. You just end up having to go all in and hope the dealer gave you a valid placement spawn otherwise your perkless for the next 10 min

i think the issue with that is with offering is killers may not ever get access to them or have them only a fraction of the time now. also removes the choice in actually using the hex when you want.

  • @HectorBrando said:

Some of the weaker Hexes could become normal perks but there should be a way to get rid of their effects.

For example Third Seal is not very good and it could become a non-hex but they have to give the Survivors a way to get rid of their effect, maybe by getting healed, or fixing a gen for X amount of time or something else.

Others like Ruin, DH, NOED, Plaything or Crowd Control cant be made into normal perks without gutting them.

some might be harder to convert sure true, but i also don't think there effects would have too suffer. killers need strong perks too.

noed is always debatable, but crowd control would be fine as is if it were converted.

  • probably. a lot of games can have you unlock cosmetics for a character despite not actually owning/unlocking them. i doubt dbd is any different,

Just a point of clarity. Your trophies are tied to your PSN account so they transfer over. The confusion is that Behaviour doesn't auto-pop the PS5 trophies so you will need to earn them again if you play the PS5 version. Your PS4 DBD trophies will remain as is. So if you're close to the Platinum or 100% the PS4 trophy set, you need to continue playing the PS4 version of the game.

i guess i should've been more specific, but it slipped my mind. I am aware that is how it works though. sorry for the confusion.

  • start thinking now is the time to start tunneling and camping

I mean it's in your title, why would they add skins for a survivor that barely anyone uses, would make no sense.

maybe people don't use those characters because they don't have any cool skins.

But I haven't. I am and have always been on PS4. They just reverted randomly.

no idea then mate. haven't heard of that one before

  • i still stand by my word in a older post i posted.

rework the egc. stop the 99. as i've said it sucks

I mean, I do consider Ruin meta. At the very least with Undying.

    each their own.

  • don't forget removing 99ing the door

  • are you kink shaming the entity's hostage's family life?

  • I mean if you've upgraded to a new console as in PS4 to PS5 yeah the trophies won't transfer over.

  • I honestly don't see any use that would have

  • Also this one guy who called me a streamsniper because he ran into the basement and I down/grabbed him(I think grabbed him from a locker?) And hooked him.i

    Md chase btw.

(Pretty sure that's when he called me it...not that I was in his stream or anything 🤷‍♂️).

Something actually somewhat similar happened to me about a month ago. I totally forget what i did during the match that angered him so much, but he proceeded to nonstop spam my comment section with stuff like this for the entire day. He was still commenting stuff by the time i woke up in the morning.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5X6G6IFZC7BG/screenshot-2021-08-12-114111.jpg

    At least he's dedicated

  • There was this one time there was this team of Dwights. I don't think I necessarily did anything bad, I think they called me a camper. Probably kept running to the hooked guy and so I chased them.

Anyway, they mashed me calling me like camper and spammed me with some random stuff for a few minutes. It was some time ago, but I think it was them spamming random letters. They have up and I msgd something cordial back. (Pretty sure it was cordial). No response naturally.

  • didn't run them before, probably won't run them now.

i do actually like the ones that increase the mark meter. as for the other ones there hit or miss.

but thing that sucks is, he didn't get any actual changes that were any good to his add-ons while other killers did.

i would've loved to see some more unique affects be added on like

    • when downing a marked survivor, every other survivors have their meters increased up to x%.
    • if a survivor with a meter that is 50% or more takes a protection hit they are given x status effect. or even downed.
    • when his power is active and he is crouched he sees survivors auras within x meters.

even some basic add-ons changes would've been nice.

  • whether on purpose or by coincidence you'll reach high mmr if you perform positive in games.

even if you were to purposely lose games you'll eventually get back to that level.

i tell you, i am in no rush to play in high mmr games. i'm already against survivors who are slamming me and it's already frustrating.

  • well when surv know how to loop, it doesn't matter who you chase so why not?

Old undying hard trump ToTH because it gave info on both Hex & Dull. Later only Dull. But now ToTH has it info on Hex removed. At least have its token removed & keep 50% slow down. +7sec per token isnt that much even if ToTH not a Hex perk. The best it can save is 35sec if you cleanse ToTH last.

    agreed.

  • hexes might have powerful abilities, but overall there weak since survivors have many tools to get rid of them. killers don't even have a reliable way of defending them either. only a select few hexes are even worth using and most are designed to be broken.

this is why hexes and totems need to be changed (i have a post detailing a few ideas on how to do that).

  • i think it was just a reason to add something new to the game without thinking of any longevity of it.

  • it takes longer to cleanse/bless now, but at the cost of the noise notification. if we call it a buff or a nerf, it's a nerf.

there is no reason to use it for hex defense since you won't even know when your hexes are getting attacked. meaning it is a meaningless change.

  • i might cleanse then. depends if i see them or not.

  • the perk is dead enough no need it make it any deader bro

  • is it more useful? maybe it is a buff.

but it is still a hex so no.

Is this confirmed? I assumed trickster would need to get a health state with his knives for this to activate

i believe it's like that on the ptb, but in all i think it's a bug that will be fixed before going live.

  • i didn't use the recovery add-ons. had great games. i

f they had given ghost face better/improved add-ons it would have been a better change, but ya know.

  • i mean if know someone has a flashlight i'm not going to pick up in a very vulnerable position unless i know i'm safe to do so.

  • relighting boons is pretty stupid.

the healing one, im not surprised about. i already assumed one might be about healing. but it might be strong. increased healing is already insane as is, but i assume the increased healing doesn't stack? idk how that works.

the scratch mark and aura one is hit or miss. scratch marks can already be misleading sometimes, you know you have to take a double take just to make sure your going right way. absolutely going to kill me playing on the cornfield maps.
