First I very much hope this idiocy is not in this PBT but in a future one. If it is already there, I hope it gets tested A LOT, that the feedback is really listened to (which I don't believe in) and it gets revised

A "mini" deliverance basekit that can be, and will surely be, abused in the worst ways and will punish anyone, even those who don't do face camp

  • It's going to be a massive BS

I truly hope they will test that stupid thing a lot before going live

  • The more I think about it, the more this "mechanics" is stupid and wrong. There are countless occasions where you have two hooks close together, perhaps with a generator in close proximity. Am I now forced to leave a position of total advantage? Not to mention maps like The Game where it's very easy to stay close to the hook even on a different level

Either the radius is really small (at most 2 meters and in this case it ONLY blocks the face camp) or it is unprecedented idiocy

Also this "mecahic" should NOT work on 2nd stage hook, it's beyond ridiculous, plus if you self unhook you have endurance and haste

What else ? teleport ? insta gen repair ? please give me a break

  • I play to win so while in game i do everything i think is necessary to win, so yeah i'm a ruthless bastard...but then i'm very be polite in the end chat, often i compliment with my opponets if they are not rude.

  • It is impossible to say objectively. Are the maps biased in favor of surivors?Definitely yes Are some mechanics like tunnel/camp in favor of the killer? Surely Are there killers that are monstrously OP compared to other obviously weak killers? Definitely yes Are there any perks/addons that used by a SWF are a guarantee of victory?Definitely yes Unfortunately, in the absence of official statistics and a roadmap of the Devs on their intent, on what they want to achieve, on the current state of the game, there is no possible answer In some scenarios one faction is certainly more advantaged than the other but it is a scenario that changes constantly

When the killer downs the last 2 survivors, stands right in front of them and refuses to hook them without moving for the entire duration of the bleedout then I don't have to guess what their motivation is at that point. I know what it is. You're making very big stretches to defend terrible behavior in this game.

They have deliverance ? Ds ? Boil Over ?There are nearby hooks or are way to far away ? As a killer how i may know what perks they have ? If i feel confident enough to attempt the hook or if there is an hook in a valid range then yes i'll go for it if not then it's not my problem you can stay on the ground until you bleed out

  • The community has asked so many times to have official stats, more communication, it has asked many times for greater transparency but these are not important things for BHVR apparently, better to keep everything secret and not say anything, which makes it much more easy to make their own narrative

  • As any other killer, few months after the release they stop to receive any buff, tweek, fix or rework, BHVR sold the product then who care if is viable or not. Trapper, Twins, Freddy, Mayers, Sadako and many more killers deserve a rework but no, we're getting a new killer soon and if we're lucky is a good one, if not well...who care product has been sold

Trapper is awful, he has no mobility, he has no way to apply pressure, his power is 100% RNG based, in almost every map his trap are visible my miles away and way too much predictable. This killer was good when the game came out but now is just a sad relic of the past and, soon, other killers will follow this path until the only viable killers are the same group of 10/12 over 30+

Killers always say there are no incentives to not tunnel(which they are right), I just tried to give incentives that I think are valid.

Looping guides there are plenty on reddit and youtube, I can't make something new that a survivor that is up for it didn't see already.

I fail to see where you bring up some incentives. All i've read was "if you tunnel you suck"

  • Yeah of course i would love to see a massive addon rework but this is not going to happen. See the last "addon reword" in the lastes patch for eample, just a couple minor changes to useless addon. Let's be honest BHVR have no clue at all on how to rework the addon ( too many ? too difficult ? who knows ) but, in this way, at least i can get rid of the junk and use the one i really need

Survivors sometimes leave me in a position where slugging them is the only rational option.

Hook one, and two more are dancing around the hook. I eventually down them, and they stay right under the hook until the 1st survivor dies.

No other hooks in range, and I know one is using Boil Over ... I'm not going to pick them up and give them a free do over.

Things that increase your chance of getting slugged:

    1. Using Boil Over
    2. Team mate with a Flashlight
    3. Sabotaging Hooks
    4. Purposefully getting into a spot you know the Killer can't hook you when you go down

Yesterday in a game, 4 chose springwood as the map. Two of them had mettle of man and boil over

Throughout the game they hid in the basement of the school near the generator. Of course, it was impossible to get them to a hook as no one is close to that point. I let the other two players repair all the gens but the two who tried this brilliant tactic bled to death. They would get up and hit the ground again and again and again. It lasted quite a while as a match, it ended with 2 escaped 1 dead on the hook (he made a mistake and got caught near the stairs where I managed to bring him to a hook) while the last one I watched him bleed to death . He got up, fell to the ground, got up, fell to the ground.

Next game, Autoheaven, flashlight sabo squad, all with boil overs. It was fun I admit, but since they were running around the corners of the map ready to sabotage hooks well, the last two left waited on the grass for 4 long minutes.

Apart from the fact that they were two of the funniest matches of the last period, at least they were original in terms of ideas, without being able to resort to slugging I would never have won or at least had an even match.

This is to say that, as long as these possibilities exist, it will be necessary to be able to resort to slugging

Been making a bunch of notes on what I would change in this game, and felt like going about this topic, I thought of maybe an idea that might not fully get rid of Camping/Tunnelling, but I would think would reduce it by a lot to the point it wouldn't be as effective anymore, here are my ideas I just wanted to share:

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Camping:

•Once the Killer throws a Survivor onto a hook, the Entity will be called upon, pulling all hooks underground and will swap positions.

•Once all hooks have been swapped, they will then start to respawn, being pulled back out from underneath the ground.

•Once all hooks have been swapped and pulled out of the ground, the hooked Survivor will respawn on their same hook beyond 32 meters from your position.

•The Killer can NOT see the Aura of the hook the Survivor is currently on.

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    And for Tunneling:

•20 Seconds after a Survivor has been unhooked, they will permanently have the Endurance V1 Status Effect until one of 3 conditions:

1: They start a conspicuous action.

2: The Killer has hooked another Survivor.

3: The Survivor enters chase in less than 20 Seconds after being Unhooked.

•If the Survivor takes a hit with Endurance after being unhooked, they will NOT be afflicted with the Deep Wound Status Effect.

•If the Survivor begins to take chase before they receive the Endurance Status Effect, they will NOT receive it after being unhooked.

The Killer will NOT receive a loud noise notification once a Survivor has been unhooked.

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

With these Base Kit change ideas, of course a select few of perks for Survivor would have to be changed and also have ideas for those in this link below:

Survivor Unhooking Perk Changes Idea - Pastebin.com

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Noticed I put "V1" and "V2" beside of "Endurance" both in this post and the pastebin link? Well what that's supposed to mean is, "V1", you take a hit with Endurance, you don't get Deep Wound applied to you, and "V2" taking a hit with Endurance will put you in Deep Wound, just something I had came up with, sounds silly I know but I figured I'd make that so people would know what it would indicate.

But anyways, I know these changes don't sound perfect, maybe easily abusable as well, but the Idea is to heavily reduce Camping/Tunnelling, not fully get rid of it because sometimes, that can only be the Killer's only strategy in certain situations.

For example the whole "waiting 20 seconds" after being unhooked is so the Survivors can't abuse it by running straight to the killer right away, but also I know there can be times where the Killer can easily abuse that by getting lucky and finding them after they get unhooked in less than 20 seconds, fixing that is something I couldn't think of unless if you add in an effect like what Pyramid Head has, and that's if you get close to the Hooked Survivor, the Hooks will swap again, which is something I wouldn't want, but that might sound like the only fix to it. And the whole "Not having Deep Wound applied" after taking a hit with Endurance from being Unhooked, is so if they are indeed being tunneled, they will have a chance of using perks like Dead Hard, or my Off the Record change idea.

Maybe people out there can have an idea to fully improve this idea or take parts of my idea and change them into something else that sounds much better, idk, I just thought maybe I'd share this idea to the public because I know how unfun both strategy's sound when both on the receiving end and attempting it yourself, just want to somehow reduce them heavily and bhvr can take notes later in the future and they might finally implement something, idk.

(And I know, the Borrowed Time Change Idea sounds like #########, but sounds unique at the same time imo lol)

    Idea to reducing Camping/Tunneling

    1) Learn how to loop

    2) Stop unhook while the killer is nearby

    3) Stop use BT to bodyblock

    4) Learn how to loop

    here, solved your Camping/Tunneling issue

  • @Heytherebigguy said:

Yeah, BHVR aren't giving you much and tbh in some situations you gotta do that against a strong team to regain some control, you can't always play fair. this post is mostly for killer players who all they do is camp/tunnel from their first hook, 5 gens in pubs while thinking every team they play against, are Hens's SWF.

Well, I can have a few as someone who plays both sides.

    • If you see other people that are good win a lot of times while not tunneling, they're obviously showing skill, if you don't care only about winning but also about being good at the game, learn how to win without taking the ez every child can do route.
    • Maybe you're playing vs survivors that also play your killer, and not really well. you can show them, by .. SKILL, that you can beat them without tunneling/camping from the get go, so you can give inspiration to other killers to improve.
    • If you still don't care and all you want is win, don't cry when survivors are telling you that you're bad at the game, yeah they're salty but they're saying the truth, if you destroyed them without 5 gen tunneling they would had(probably) more respect in general.
    • The dopamine of outplaying multiple people in chase. when you tunnel, usually the guy tunneled is in panic and doing mistakes, making it even easier to down. the game is fun(for me at least) when you chase many people, that play differently and outplay them most of the time, winning by that can give a huge dopamine hit, showing survivors that none of them can hold you for a long time unless using strong loops(that if ur good, u get rid of them fast).
    • Eventually, you will raise your MMR(that you can't even see) to a level that most of the teams against you will know how to handle you, they'll realize you lack skill but go for the tunneling ez route and punish you or give you 1 kill, and you will go out frustrated, good survivors can recognize within 1-2 loop interactions if you know how to play killer well or not.

It's not about dignity or the fun of the survivors, when I play killer If I tunnel from the start in pubs, I just make an easy game for myself, I do not improve and I do not show any form of skill to anyone. everything should be in dose in life, balanced is the word. When you tunnel on 5 gens in pubs you kill the balance of the game in a tactic that is only available in DBD, taking the easy route to win by standing still or hooking the same guy who's many times sucks/defenceless.

Why, given your great experience, don't you make a nice post on how to do loops, avoid the killer and other much more interesting things for survivors? Yes of course crying and complaining is the fashion instead of improving I guess. The only thing you get with these posts is not "change the killers mind" is make the survivors think that no one tunnels and when that happens, then they cry.

  • As a killer main, the last fun match i had was vs a group of bullies. They came with sabo and flashlight and other stuff and it was fun chasing them down, trick them, fight vs them, at least was different from the same, old match you are having those days

Sadly, match you could say are ""FUN" are one out of five, the other match are just plain stright boring

  • Why instead you don't blame BHVR ? Becuase it's their own falut if this is the meta right now

Why blame killer for tunneling or camping or survivor for bringing BNP and other OP stuff ? It's only BHVR fault period

  • Because transparency is not a gift that exists at BHVR. There are no official stats, there are no Devs who talk to the community except to say how good they are, feedback and suggestions are mostly ignored. Just seeing the promise they made to keep the community up to date on anti-cheat measures, all the various feedback improvements they promised in one of their posts, all of this has been ignored and forgotten. BHVR doesn't have the slightest ability to communicate with their community, let alone do a Q&A

  • @Skill_issue said:

for killers hitting survivors on the hook...no purpose but to bully the hooked survivor

for survivors being able to tbag the killer...no purpose but to bully the killer (which is made even worse after a sweaty game)

no purpose in the game but to antagonize the other person...are their any others i am missing? flashlight macro clicking was removed because it was used as to antagonize the killer so why are these other aspects still allowed in the game?

what does the community think/feel about having these aspects still in the game?

Why should I feel offended by a gesture made in a video game by a guy who lives thousands of miles away?

    Who cares

The only way to disempower bullies is to ignore them completely, and after all, it's still a video game

  • There is not a single problem but there are many, too many, problems at the moment

    1) map design is AWFUL

2 ) The game is balanced around SWF and Tier S-A killer, everything else like SoloQ, M1 Killers, many addons and perks are totally abandoned and forgotten.

    3) Cheaters.

    4) Transparency. It is extremely ridiculous that there are no official statistics available, kill rates, use of perks and a thousand other information that should be present IN GAME but are mysteriously absent.

In the end, the real problem for DBD is the BHVR itself, the DEVs having a limited view of their own game, the total lack of communication with the players and the limited management of the game. They look like a little indie companion but they are not, if everything was excusable when the game was launched years ago, now this way of working is harmful and detrimental to the game

Facing him I just don't care once I hear that bell I just I'm done in the match I'm not escaping at all even if he had no add-ons. Basically by that time I just oh guess I'll just die in this match since I can't find a counter to him.

When you're working on a gen, pan your camera behind you so you'll notice the blurry image when he approach.Other than that he is a M1 with no other abilities so, learn how to loop

  • @MonsterDilf said:

Ah, nothing like starting off the night with a Killer camping the hook of any survivor. This guy let the gens get pushed, I managed 2.5 before attempting to rescue a Steve who was routinely hooked, tunneled, and the killer just stood around him, waiting for someone to rescue him.

"oH bUt yOu cOuLd hAvE rUsHeD gEnS" I hear your screech! I did, but I also feel bad for the survivors who have to spend their game, laying on the ground, and then getting hooks and sitting there for 120 seconds + bleed out time.

One thing I notice commonly in the camping discussion (tunneling is a different topic) is this patronizing "well you should just do this," attitude, which really does not set tone for a proper dialogue about the issue at hand. Killers and survivors deserve a good mix of risk/reward.

cant wait to see how many posts hit me with a cry harder/rush gens/thats just how it is/should killers just not have any fun then/dont play the game

Killers and survivors deserve a good mix of risk/reward

    There is a risk/rewward

The killer risk to lose the game and secure only one kill, the reward is to exploit your altruism

Survivors risk to have one man down but the reward is to let him die and finish the gen and leave in 3

Then, as long you try to save by yourself, you just allow the killer to do what he want. Next time try to go to save with another survivor. Or do gens

Not "some". It's ridiculous amounts of hours. I'm at 1.6K hours and I'm still in need of BPs/shards.

    I've 1500 hours, all killers are at least level 3 ( some level 6 or 10 )

I don't care at all about levelling up survivors, maybe that's the reasons, i've always 1k BP left

  • Map is "better" because is smaller than the previous one but, as usual, BHVR have not learn how to make the map fun of fair. There are way too many god pallet or ultra safe loops or adiacent tiles that can be chained togheter.

A good map should be small/medium, with no more than 2 safe/god pallet and tiles should be far away one for the other. Then you can fill the rest with unsafe pallets, props, loops and you're done, you have a fun and fair map both for survivors and for killers

  • @FMG15 said:

Punishing a player for a certain playstyle that has been demmed valid by the devs should not be punished. What you should rather do is rewarding those that play fair. BP incentives and even Iri shards for consistently playing fair should be the alternative solution. Altering the games pace based on how the killer plays is a horrible idea.

After some hours, you really don't need anymore BP or Iri shard. I've plenty i could gift to other people

  • Just add a better version of Dying Light as basekit to killers.

For each hook you'll get several bonuses, from regression to overall slow down.

Hook 1-2 "when you kick a gen, a 5%/10% regression is added"

Hook 3-4 "other than the regression, when you hook a survivor everyone repairing a generator suffer a 10%/20% speed reduction"

Hook 5-6 "regression is increased to 20%/generator speed reduction is increased to 30%"

and so on. Problem solved, tunnel someone out won't be rewarding enough as hooking them

  • @yauniqua said:

"This Killers is currently being played by 47% of the community. Please select a different Killer to get into a match faster!"

Or there could be a number next to the portrait next to the Killer portrait. That number shows how further down in the queue you'll be pushed if you select the Killer being overplayed.

Also, there could be 200% or 300% bonus for playing Killers that aren't touched.

Why, instead of those silly requests that never happen, you don' ask to FIX all those killers who you never face ? If all those C-D-F tier killers would have been viable and on par with A-B tier killers you would see a lot more difference in your gameplay but BHVR would never fix old products already sold

  • Another question, why don't you play your game, bhvr?

They have no idea how their game works or they will start focusing on fixing killers, maps and game mechanics

  • @Gamall said:

Symptom of skill issue? Yes, you're right

So who cares ? You know, i start to tunnel at 5 gens, camp as much i can and do every other tactics than can grant me a victory. Does it make you unhappy ? Who cares ? Do you think is a skill issue ? Who care about that too. Are you going to write -rep and call me names ? Please be my guest i don't care at all..or..to be honest the more you cry the more i'm happy :)

But still OP is right, tunnel and camping are symptom of the game and the problems in the game, the insane gen speed progression, the obnoxious map design, the third healt state called DH, the terrible tile spawn with an insane ammount of god pallet and god vault.

Keep thinking it's just a skill issue

  • If this mean all the other 27 killers are going to be fixed, reworked and balanced around Wesker level, i'm in for your suggestion

But i guess you don't understand why you're facing always those killer right ?

Temple of Purgation and Father Campbell’s Chapel have done this already.

For Father Campbell there was an explaination in the Lore, Clown reach that location while travelling and being there really, that's why Maurice is real and not just a memory

For the Temple of Purgation i remeber i have read an explaination but to be honest i'm not sure

  • There's also a big Lore problem that doesn't make any sense. The realms are created by the entity using the memories of the killers, but somehow the SM's memories are superimposed on those of Evan McMillan (Trapper) as his "base of operations" is located in Shelter Woods which, in fact, does part of the Trapper's realm. This doesn't make any sense and it's a huge mistake by Lore. Why did the entity recreate a specific part of a specific realm using the memories of a killer who was never there? What connection does SM have with the Trapper? Although the Lore of DbD is not perfect and has some holes, it is all in all usual and I have always found it pleasant to read here this modification to the map to add this killer and force the lore in a completely unnatural way is just the umpteenth piece of how badly this chapter is done

She literally doesn't do anti-loop right now and there's no reason to assume she'd be buffed in a way that lets her, and any killer can hold a 3-gen, she'd only be slightly better at it than the majority of the cast.

There's nothing wrong with her core design. It's never going to be top-tier strong because trap and information killers don't tend to be, but it isn't fundamentally broken. I'm starting to wonder if people just, can't see past her current balance problems and conflate that with her core design or something.

Her current status IS her core design and her core design is a complete garbage. Six years ago, when the game was different, it might have been fine but today it's a totally useless killer

you hope it gets balanced, you hope it gets fixed, you hope it doesn't goes live like that but that's just hopes, there's not the slightest certainty that this will happen and even if it does happen even with all the buffs in the world it would be decent, just because its core design is flawed

  • @Dbdfan398 said:

    1. Theyre out of ideas, and genuinely dont know what to do around the current parameters of the game. Problem is the solution to this is entirely new game modes and goals, then you can base the killers / survivors around that. Its like they can only design killers around letters a and b, and the way the games designed it doesnt allow them to consider the rest of the alphabet
    2. This is going to be a MASSIVE / awesome anniversary event and theyre saving the big load for that.

I wonder if the game was next gen only and pcs ( so ssds only ) if the game could have new features and modes they cant do on a HDD. Imagine if for example the SSD allowed freddy to have a true dream world. Or a killer that makes each survivor see a different map / version of the map

They are not short of ideas, conceptually the Skull Merchant is interesting. What they have shown though is how much they don't know their game, how stuck they are in the game they played 6 years ago. Releasing 1 killer, 2 survivors and 9 perks in this state means having no idea of the current parameters of the game, what works and what doesn't work and instead of correcting the many problems that exist, they try to ignore it .

  • @Heytherebigguy said:

Do you like hindering yourself and being t bagged at the exit gates just cause there are 15 safe pallets each map?

I was a Pig main once back, back then but now I'm a happy Blight main. I'm a 50/50 player and used to be a survivor main when I first started and I can tell you now: STOP PLAYING M1 KILLERS.

I know you love your precious sadako or ghostface, but if you truly care about your performance ingame and want to "protest" against the changes(which are justified, eruption was a bad design of a perk) just start learning one of the top 5-10 killers.

    I promise you that:

    1. You will find a power that you like and is worthy to commit for learning.
    2. You will have tons of fun mastering the power.
    3. Your mastery will reward you with kills.
    4. You will be LESS relied on perks, thus less on BHVR.
    5. Your M1 skills that you've learned from poor pig or sadako will transfer to these killers too.
    6. Maybe when BHVR will see that almost none plays clown, pig, gf or sadako they will MIGHT buff them.

These days, I don't see a reason to play an M1 killer, back in the days the game was more chill, even if you played against a sweat squad, the next game could be more balanced. now with MMR(and don't say it doesn't exist, there's a reason why OTZ can't do 50 win streaks anymore) and all the medkit and toolbox meta, it's better for you to adapt and also find more fun in a more complexed power that will yield enjoyment and results.

You will thank me later <3

Don't you know it's a sin asking to rework/fix almost every m1 killers ? BHVR has no interest in fixing them at all, why bother, product has been sold no need to invest time on them anymore, survivors are against that idea or they couldn't tbag the poor trapper anymore so yeah...no reason to play them if not for "fun"

  • For point 9 i mean after you have placed a certain number of the same asset type ( props, traps or paint ) you are not allowed to place a different one from another type unless you "free the memory" and i have no idea what does it mean

What do you mean? If you deadhard and they hit you it counts as a blocked hit but you still go down. You get teh points but not the protection, how is that of benefit?

This may happen only with the Assassin because of deep wound, other guards do not inflict deep wounds.

So basically you're running while in DW due the assassin's stab, the knight spawn another guard and yeah you can not use DH, but that's the same for Legion or Slinger

Also, the Knight is the only killer for god know why reason who has a buff to survivor built in his own power, if you pick up the banner, you have a speed boost and endurance.

I am sorry, but I completely disagree with this. Here are some recent examples.

    1) community wants Eruption changed since it is such a problem.

Solution: Devs annihilate the perk. Specifically, they removed incap. as the community requested

    2) community kept complaining that EVERY new killer just had "antiloop" power.

    knight = antiloop with guards

    wesker = antiloop w/ dash

    dredge = antiloop w/ remnant

onryo = antiloop w/ passive phasing and teleport speed boost

    artist = antiloop w/ crows

    pinhead = antiloop w/ chains

    ....

Solution: Devs gave killer w/ ZERO antiloop outside of addons

    3) community wants new maps and more map diversity

Solution 1: on top of Realm Beyond updating Red Forest, they added a ton of new map elements to Shelter Woods essentially making it a new map. (Personally, I would have preferred a new MacMillan map and keeping shelter woods, but they can't please everyone).

Solution 2: Devs are implementing Map Repeat Avoidance system.

Clearly, they are listening. The real truth is they cannot please everyone. For every change, there will be a population of players who hate the change and wish it remained the same. Second, the devs cannot address everyone's concerns and issues simultaneously.

Personally, I still hate these things:

    • Feng gets WAY too many cosmetics. Lunar New Year 2023 (timeframe, not event), she got at least 3 cosmetics.
    • Twins still get little to no love or communication (although I am grateful that they fixed the gamebreaking bug)
    • etc.

It's okay to dislike the chapter and you're entitled to feel however you'd like. But, stating the devs don't listen is false. Enjoy your grinding for shards. I'll be purchasing the chapter as I do with every other chapter. Personally, $15 is less valuable to me than 105hr of my life.

Thank you for the discussion/thread! It was a good read!

Those are not "Community requests" but are "Survivors requests" and, of course, they have been listened

Here look at the "map" request. Shelter Woods got a main building with an hyper god vault because well..survivors. Killers have been asking to reduce size for Mothers map but just got the visual update

To solve the tunneling and camping problem, it is enough to encourage the killer to diversify his target

We know that this is absolutely not true. You're not going to solve tunnelling and camping by simply mega-buffing killers. You're only going to reduce those strategies by nerfing them with tailored solutions.

The simplest solution would be to hard cap the bonuses that can stack together for repair speed. The speed of repair, alone, without perk or toolbox is 80 seconds, just put a hard cap that indicates that more than 20% bonus, at the same time, cannot be had or that, under 60 seconds, you cannot can go.

This is also probably pretty untenable from a mechanical perspective, not to mention it's missing the mark. The only real threat to gen speed is BNP, that thing needs to be reworked.

"We know" who ? you and who else ?

Anyway just cry fro more nerf and cry because there's tunnellng and camping i'm sure crying out is a valid solution, BHVR seems to listen to the survivor's desperate cry for help

Sure the only threath is BNP, sure. As long there are people like you, this game won't be better at all

  • The simplest solution would be to hard cap the bonuses that can stack together for repair speed. To solve the tunneling and camping problem, it is enough to encourage the killer to diversify his target, to stay away from the hook. For example thanatophobia/dyning light (without buff to survivors) basekit, or a generator gets blocked by the Entity if you are at least 24 meters from a survivor on the hook until it is unhooked.

But yeah, none of this will ever happen, seeing how much devs know about their own game

  • Lol nope, i've just uninstalled the game so..

  • exactly my point, people will use only the strongest killer or those who have some weird busted addon

I don't know why Shape is so popular. He is simple and weak killer without stupid addons that to be fair are quite offten played. Maybe people love sneaky one shoting killer hmm. (+ He is iconic).

That's why, Tombstone or Iri or even Scratched Mirror for meme jumpscare build and he is iconic.

How many Twins or Clown have you seen recently ? Hag ?

  • What do you expect ? Other killers are no longer viable or fun to play, thanks to the nerfs for Killers and buff for survivors, they are sitting on bad design and bug waiting for a rework or a tweak that is not going to happen and, as long devs would refuse to listen to killers playerbase, while provide anything to survivors playerbase, this is what you're going to get.

The funniest part is, this is exactly what the survivors asked for with all those cry for nerfs instead of asking a better game mechanic and gameplay. But yeah, have fun to play against only couple of killers ( until they are nerfed into oblivion of course ) , i guess that's healthy for the game ( people are using "healthy" way to much those days )

what other slowdown perks are there?

Pain Res, DMS, CoB, Overcharge, Jolt is surprisingly decent, Pop is still good, you could use Tremors and that also doubles as an info perk, there's also Corrupt, Deadlock which you don't even need to get a down to take advantage of, and that's just off the top of my head

what can i, specifically, do to improve?

That's hard to say, I would need to see a video to know what mistakes you're making. you mentioned struggling with Borgo and Mayers[sic], I'd love to help with that, Myers is one of my mains and I've gotten plenty of 3k's and 4k's with him on Borgo. knowing a map and a killer name really isn't enough to go off of, though.

    confusion about "full potential"

"full potential" means the best-of-the-best, skill wise. Certainly you recognize the best survivors are probably going to be able to win against a random sampling of killer players, because that random sampling of killer players is going to be mostly average. The best of the best should usually beat average players - I would hope you would agree that if average players on one side were beating the best players on the other side, there would be a power imbalance there.

couldn't really find anything to respond to in your last point as its mostly just melodrama (to be fair, it's really fun to engage in melodrama and often helps arguments so no criticism there) but hope that clears some points up for you bud. See you in the fog!

You didn't understand what I meant, blame my poor bad English for sure.

Anyway, the conversation is useless, I leave you to rejoice about the nerfs and how much the killers cry since they are all balanced and perfect, I'm done with the game

You are twisting my words which is fine but I want to clarify some things:

    1) Here is a list of alternatives:

    • Gen kicking perk synergize just fine without Eruption
    • Pain Res + DMS
    • Gen stalling perk (Corrupt Intervantion + Deadlock) can buy a lot of time
    • You still have many info perks: Lethal, Discordance, Tinkerer, BBQ, Floods etc.
    • Save the Best for Last
    • Sloppy + Terminus is the perfect counter for those who use Adrenaline and don't bother healing
    • Other endgame perks help as well

like I said. Plenty of alternatives

    2) What you can do is recording a match and reviewing it afterwards. Also it's funny how you listed the weakest killers on one of the most survivor sided maps and an unoptimized build and used that as an argument against my post. But that was never my argument. I mean killers overall not the weakest killers when everything favors the survivors. You are making a silly comparison here. Even with Trapper you have a chance of winning if your build is optimized and the map isn't too terrible for him. Also my argument was that killer won't be impossible just because Eruption got nerfed so your argument missed my point. You rather hyperfocused on the weak end of the killer spectrum and asked me: "how are you supposed to win on these scenarios?" But that wasn't my point. Overall killer is not impossible.

    3) I literally said "at full potential"... as if the survivors you go against always at full potential. No full potential means Hens's winstreak squad not your average SWF you go against. Winning against those will still be very possible without Eruption if you play your cards right.

    4) Even mid-tier killers are in a fine state. Stop using low-tier killers as an argument of why killer OVERALL is in a weak state. You can also say: Oh survivor is just fine? What about me playing with OoO and no mither? is survivor still fine then? Well if you play in the weakest form possible don't be surprised if you lose. I'm talking about killer experience OVERALL not in every case. Because both sides obviously have issues.

    1) So the only alternative to Eruption are two perks, PainRes and DMS. I really find hard to see how STBFL is an alternative to Eruption but maybe now STBFL has a gen regression option as well. See, if you are talking about alternative i want an alternative. Even the guy who said "pop goes the weasel" was an alternative more in line than STBFL ( and PGTW it's just pure garbage )

    2) "Overall killer is not impossible." Sure if you play only some killers, forget the others, play against newbie or unskilled soloQ on few decent maps yeah, i agree with you. Other than that yes i'll still bring up the weakest killers because they are in game, because i want to play them and if a single perk would allow them to be more playable and then you remove that perk, unless you're going to fix those killer well..yes it's almost impossible to win

    3) How do you know what kind of survivors i play against ? And how do i know what kind of survivors i'm going to face ? If i want to win ( and i do play to win ) i have to use the best build possibile ( and you said that as well ). Now the best build possible has eruption but since that perk is now a useless garbage..i can't use anymore the best build possible.

    4) Survivors are all the same type there's no difference between Meg and Jeff, it's just skill and perk and communication problem. Killer has no communication issue but there is the killer type issue. So once again, why i should not talk about ALL the killers but just name the best one to claim "killers are fine" ? Sure are fine if you look at few of them but there are 30 killers in the game and let's say only 10 are fine

So please if you're honest just say " Few killers are fine, the others are trash even more now since they cannot use anymore a strong perk" because that's the truth.

I'm seriously confused why people play this game if they feel the role they prefer is so miserable and impossible to win with. Always pointing out the worse case scenario for every little thing and act like they have never won a game in their life. Maybe it's an act just to try and get free buffs? I honestly hope it is because this behavior is just mind-boggling to me at this point.

That's why i stopped to play this game and no, if you ever look at my history post i never ever ask for buff or nerf, i'm asking to rework many game mechanics and maps those are the problem not DH or Eruption, fix the majority of the killers instead of pushing out a new one while the oldest killers are in a such horrible status right now, place a cap of generation repair buff, rework the layout of the maps, remove several pallets and make them unsafe and more and more..

For alternatives you have Pop goes the weasel, deadlock, corrupt intervention, pain resonance, Jolt, Call of brine, overcharge and No way out if you want to focus on endgame

    Plenty of choice

pop goes the weasel good joke man, good joke

Why should the weakest killers on the roster with bad loadouts be able to compete against the best players on the other side? That would be a horrible game. It's ok if better players win. There's nothing wrong with that. People have this notion that killers should always be able to compete regardless of killer choice, build, or skill level. Why? That wouldn't be a balanced game at all, it would just be tipping the scale in the other direction.

I'm sorry but if you first blame the killer being the weakest and then blame skill there's a problem

Better player should win REGARDLESS the killer they choose because all killers should be equals with different powers and different concept and overall the same strenght and weakness. You cannot say "killers are fine" when really just few of them are fine and the others are plain bad or not working at all (twins once again)

So let me rephrase for you " Blight, Spirit, Nurse, Wesker are balanced and can have a chance against good players, other killers even if played in an optimal way has no winning chance against good players" that's your idea of balancing.

And, i'm still waiting to hear from you all the valid alternatives to eruption and, by the way, alternative i can use in a solid build because you also blame that so...please build for me a good and viable Mayers or Trapper or Sadako or Clown who can stand against comp survivors.

  • @FMG15 said:

Just because your favorite toy got nerfed into the ground doesn't mean that killer is impossible now. The killrate will still be well over 50% and you still have a good amount of alternatives to Eruption. How about looking how you can improve as killer before blaming the devs for you losing matches without an overpowered perk. Yes a full potential survivors can stomp most killers to the ground. But you are never playing against the full potential. Stop acting like you face a comp squad every game. Balancing wise killer is in a good place. Now fun wise I do agree that killer is getting worse. This game feels soul draining even if you win atleast for me. But winning is never an issue.

"you still have a good amount of alternatives to Eruption"

Like what ? No, seriously, i'm sure you have more knowledge than me and i don't know those alternatives, can you name me a few ?

"looking how you can improve as killer"

Again, you're for sure more skilled than me, please tell me how i can improve my Mayers/Freddy/Twin/Trapper gameplay, maybe on Decimated Borgo map without using any gen regression perks

"a full potential survivors can stomp most killers to the ground."

I'm sorry i'm confused now, haven't you just said killers are fine and it's just a matter of skill and now "most killers" are going to be stomped against good survivors. So..are killers fine or "most killers sucks" ?

"Balancing wise killer is in a good place."

True, trapper is so in a good place rig..oh wait you meant Blight/Wesker/Spirit are in a good place..is that you meant right ? And for balance you mean exactly what ? They are strong against low level or new players and have no chance against a comp team or even a medium skilled team on almost every map ? Well yes if you mean that yes, killers are balanced.

I have been on several threads here and on other forums where the conversation seems to return to the perceived buffs, nerfs to killers or to ignoring the forgotten broken killers while releasing new killers to the roster.

What is happening and what does the future hold for the killer community?.

Introduce killer bot in live game and remove killer players, one side only to manage/balance/listen, no more problem. Problem solved.

Many killers just require a little fix, trapper for example, just allow him to start with all the traps. It will make him viable and OP ?Of course not, still he will be one of the weakest killer but AT least something has been doing.

Mayers, Sadako, Freddy, Clown, TWINS, just to name few need a fix, not a rework it would be too much to ask ( i mean, they need a rework but everyone know this is not going to happen ) but a FIX, just a little bit of something to make them less pity and miserable

Take Plague for example. Is a fine killer, her power is kinda solid, a bit too much RNG based with pools but ok BUT she has a problem everyone, and i mean literaly everyone reported. The audio while corrupt purge is on. You have to remove your headset or become deaf. Is a game breaking request ? Is something so OP that would never happen ?Of course no, is QUALITY OF LIFE but still..honestly sometimes i refuse to charge corrupt purge just to avoid that damn loud sound !

Take Knight for example, is the only killer who has a build in buff for survivor. WHY? Why in the hell a survivor should receive a speed boost AND endurance status for a killer power ?

Take Twins..lol..i mean....lol twins. The only time they were good was due a bug on the PTB, and when people ask to keep that bug because was helping Twins, they "fixed" it. Why ?Who knows

Take Freddy..yeah he was good. WAS. Then he was reworked..ah what a great rework, now he just useless

Take Sadako, her power simply doesn't work, she has NOTHING other a silly teleport. But she has jump scare in the killer selction so she's fine i guess

And more and more and more and more so yes it's obvious BHVR don't care at all at killers player base. "OH my God look Mayers has a 70% kill rate he is fine" and no he is not, no one can say he is fine but amongst low level player or with some addon yes he is..okish.

And shall we talk about killer gameplay ? Kick gen, pallet stun, kick gen, DH, tunnel and camp, kick gen, run around the shack for 2 minutes, pallet stun followed by a vault. Shall we talk about maps ? DECIMATED BORGO lol what a joke, the offering was even killswitched because the map has way too many pallets and..yes now instead of 20 has 18. What a massive change. Badham ? Cowshed ? Azhrov ? Garden ? Eyre ? But maps are a strong ( if not the strongest ) aid for survivor why change them ?Why even bother to fix "The game" map with 22 pallets ( 22 god pallets btw ) and that's one of the easiest map for killer !

Just wait a couple months when they'll nerf Blight, pain res and CoB and give unbreakable basekit to survivors and gen location on HUD just because they need that information in order to stay in line with SWF

I have played this game since release on various platforms and while I agree with your sentiment of the game being in a good place compared to as it was on release and successive updates,I think that will be lost on killer mains who perceive in my view incorrectly that recent buffs have been survivor sided and nerfs killer focused, the evidence is easily found and used in this argument with the counter being somewhat weak in there perception,I can see it from both sides as I play both sides, the danger is there is a growing feeling of disquiet and resentment within the killer community and my fear is they will leave or switch to survivor, putting us back to the position early last year of insufferable queue times as survivor or low skill based killers in games creating a luck lustre experience.

In my view the devs need to be seen to at least be throwing a bone to these players.I had this very argument on Twitter and a Nurse killer main highlighted her recent nerf and stated the only killer in his mind to receive a recent buff was and I’m quoting “a useless but well publicised buff to Trapper who is rarely played” another retweeted this with the quote “The supposed buff for trapper was like adding a third wheel to a broken bicycle”.It’s hard to argue back when there gripes appear to go unanswered, and so the saga continues.🙄

And that's exactly what happened to me, i have left the game and i am ( was ) a killer main with 1600 hours of gameplay and i no interest to play it again anymore as long those things i have said are fixed

But, when in the Developer update you see

"Visual Update of red forest" while being one of the biggest map and need a rework but who care, is not a survivor problem let's just update the visual not the playability for killer, when you see a massive insane nerf to Eruption ( and if we are honest, everyone have to agree that nerf was INSAME) but it's a killer perks so who care and..A BUFF to a single survivor perk with no reason at all well yeah i don't care anymore. A new killer is coming soon ? Oh wow let me guess another broken m1 killer with subpark perk ?Because, if not, it will nerfed into hell like Freddy and Billy or they simply forgot that killer is in game like Twins (btw, regard Twins, in the last PTB there was a bug for Twins, and EVERYONE asked to leave that "bug" in the game because was a good thing for Twins, do they dev listen to us ? of course not !)
