So, you're obviously spinning a lot more out of my statement than I actually said, but for the record, yes. This is the healthiest spot the game has ever been for killers. That statement doesn't imply there are no problems, you'd have to read it in pretty bad faith to say that it does, it just means that the game used to be worse.

Healing speeds and map design are a problem. Some of the perks you listed (not all, PT being on there is a massive stretch) are a problem. Nowhere in my post did I imply otherwise.

There are also things on the killer side that are still problems, too. Tombstone Piece is still in the game, Leatherface camping is still uncounterable, Blight still has his busted addons, and so on and so forth. The game still having problems doesn't mean it hasn't improved.

Improved with so many problem and ongoing issues is not healthier, is somehow better but is far from being good and playable and fun and healty

Map, gen speed, health status and more are big concern and are no nead to being addressed. For how long maps have been in this status ? How long a lot of people have complained about loops and vaults and pallet spawn ? have they have been fixed ?No, not at all , they released new map with the same problem because...well it's a killer problem not a survivor problem. If pallets were a survivor problem they would fix in a month.

Sure ONE addon on a subpar killer like Mayers is the same as BNP or a single meme mechanic like camping bubba is the same ad DH,CoH and other stuff indeed. You know what ? Due this healthy game, people will face more and more blight and wesker until they are nerfed into oblivion like Freddy and Billy.

Problem ARE bigger on the killer side but nothing has been done to solve them

"Generators can be done in 30 seconds

Healing speed can be reduced to 2 seconds"

And survivors can die in under two minutes. What's your point?

Do you know how many conditions need to be stacked on each other to get those numbers? You're not getting thirty second gens against you. You're not getting two second healing against you.

One survivor can die in 2 minutes, the other three are already escaped the exit gate

And yes i have been faced those "insane condition" you mentioned, probably because i'm out the kindergaden low level MMR and i play usually vs competent sfw or similar players ? And, since those thing ARE possibile, even is difficult i can give you that, that mean they should prevent those condtion to happen. But again, hey it's healthy for the survivors so who care right ?

Kinda fun you didn't mention the other problems i have listed like maps or killers perks being useless or almost every m1 killers being a joke

But enjoy your healthy game, probably they will add killer bot in live game, so they get rid of the toxic killer player once for all

I kinda feel like the various killer buffs and additions from recent patches combined with the game being in the healthiest spot it's ever been for killers disproves that all on its own.

    This is overdramatic.

    "Healtiest spot"

Generators can be done in 30 seconds

Healing speed can be reduced to 2 seconds

Almost every map is garbage for killers, god pallet linked to a vault to another god pallet (hello Decimated Borgo and Gared on Joy !)

M1 Killers are almost a joke right now, trapper ?Twins ? sadako ? freddy ? clown ? Sure fre killers stand out from the misery but others are just meh with no sign to a rework or fix

Survivors has 3 health state, basekit BT, soon they will receive also basekit unbreakable, what else ?Basekit DS why not

The majority of killer's perks are pure gargabe but they are going to fix a survivor perk because..reasons

Yep, the game is in the healtiest spot for a survivor indeed and dev are fully aware of what is healthy or not, in fact BNP, PT, Hyperfocus, CoH and many other healty perks for the survivors are untouched, maps are so balanced you can loop a killers for days and that's so healty. They also have reworked Eyre and now you can have 5 pallets spawn in 4 adiacent tiles , indeed so healthy.

And yeah, it's so healty right now that a lot of those unhealthy, ungrateful, moronic killers are just asking to have a slight adjustment to the requests they are making, like Corrupt Intervention as Basekit, Fov slider, have a cap of gen repairs speed but, who cares ? as long in the low mmr killers have an high kill ration it's fine and healthy

  • If it were an original Killer, I'd like something very lore-related to the Entity with a perk that reminds it.

If he was a licensed killer, even though I know it's impossible, I always hope to see Jason

But above all I hope that there are NO perks related to generators. No more slowdown, kick or speed. I'd like perks related to the chase or some new status effect like burning or frozen or confused

  • The problem isn't Dead Hard per se, nor is it Eruption or any other perk. The problem is these perks combined with the current game mechanics, the incredible speed with which the generators are repaired, the totally unbalanced maps, some absolutely weak killers with a thousand problems. If the maps were balanced, if the killers were all Wesker's level, if the generators didn't complete in 30 seconds, Dead Hard (and other perks) wouldn't be a problem at all.

If for example, in an atrocious map like Decimated Borgo, a killer like Clown or Trapper or another m1 is against 2 or 3 or 4 dead hard, it is also useless to continue playing, the game is over even before starting.

  • @Pulsar said:

Two things can be problematic at once.

Is map design bad? yes, astoundingly so.

Are certain perks also unhealthily designed? Also yes.

If they do a total rework of the maps, the problem of some perks that are too unbalanced will most likely disappear. The problem is that they will never make a sensible rework of the maps, just look at Eyre who from bad has been made less bad or the most recent of all, Decimated Borgo which shows how bad the level design of the maps is

  • @jesterkind said:

To be fair, they can only do so many things at once. I'm sure they've got ideas for killer QoL, and even if they don't, it's not a fair expectation to say that they must be talking about and implementing those at the exact same time as the survivor QoL changes because then nothing's ever going to get done.

Also, hexes could use some help, but making them work like boons is a very bad idea.

Well both side should receive QoL, buff or nerf at the same time in order to keep everything balnced, or at least try to

The problem with "the can't do many things at once" is that, currently, there are at least 6 killers (Mayers, Sadako, Freddy, Trapper, Wright, Twins ) that need a massive rework or a massive bug fix or both but since "they are working on else" way to many things ( killers, addon, perks, map revork ) are left behind and forgotten ( again, Twins is the best example )

  • I have often easy wins against SFW so it doesn't matter really.

I find kinda hilarious asking to add more stuff to the new HUD while is still "under investiation" from the devs in order to have all the info SFW has. As said, why not even gen location added to the map ( and yes i have seen someone asking for that already )

  • Why no even gen location or constant location of other survivors ? Or permanent location of the killer as well ?

Hey those info are available to SWF!

  • I'm a big fan of the idea to have unranked/ranked mode will improve a lot the game and the community as well.

Yeah sometime you could find one of those ultra pro in the unranked section but they will be a minority, people like that will live in the ranked mode only where people are competitive and want a serious game.

With something like that there it will be more balancing, a lot less complain about anything and peole will usually are put against someone like them, competitive vs competitive and casual vs casual

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363719/killer-has-become-an-unplayable-role-nonstop-losses-and-no-relief-in-sight

So it happened with your games as well? If you don't mind, what perks were you using? I had a very similar experience of me getting curb stomped by default but figured it might have something to do with me bringing no gen defense and playing nice (no tunneling / camping). I made a post about it too and it seems that this is a trend for quite a few players. I'm honestly curious what killers will get in return because this HUD change clearly happened to have a much bigger impact on the game than (at least some of) the devs expected.

I don't think killer is unplayable, though. Just a whole lot less fun. Hopefully BHVR won't take too long to think of something for killers now that SoloQ got their 'QoL' improvements. Base kit Lethal Pursuer would be nice. Maybe even 50% base regress instead of 25%?

I'm sorry but if you don't bring any gen regression/slowdown perks, you do not tunnel anyone how do you expect to win? Yeah sure you can do vs incompetent people but that's no HUD issue or else, if your own issue because you're not using the correct perks.

Now i do understand why you don't want to use them, because they are boring as hell and that's the problem of the game, as long BHVR won't change perks/meta and rework several killers, rework maps and put a stop on hyper fast gen repair/third health state, there's nothing else you can do as a killer. So bring eruption ( for a coulpe of weeks until it will be nerfed into the oblivion) nowhere to hide ( next one to be nerfed i'm sure ), call of brine ( again until it will disappear ) and tunnel/camp heard as long the game begin.

BHVR want us to play like that so, let's play like that. And yeah you can easly do 3-4k

  • He is kinda good now but there's a lot more to do in order to make him great

1)Remove the banner bonus to survivor. It's fine if they can catch up the banner they'll end the chase but WHY the speed bonus AND endurance status ? No other killer has a bonus for survivor in his power.

    2) Remove the inability to summon guards near objects, vault, doors. That's frustrating i have to keep moving around until i can finally manage to be able to summon guards

    3) Guards AI is kinda meh and often they are stuck behind a wall or swing at air

    4) Almost any addon is crap

  • This map is a pain for every killer, one of the worst ( if not the worst ) map of the entire game

  • @killeriseasy said:

If carrying windows of opportunity, you should be able to know if Freddie or the Doctors pallets are fake.

    Sure why not ?

Also Circle of healing should heal plague's infection, nemesis and wesker infection too

And what about Dead Hard ? It should prevent hooking as well !

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Because it's necessary. Especially against a top tier blight because distance means nothing in that match up, ypu can only really extend the change by forcing out another hit. Survs certainly need a counter against good blight/nurse players.

Well same goes for Erutpion then, it is necessary to counter the hyperfast gen progess

  • @FMG15 said:

Killers are not fearing DS anymore. That's because it's rare nowadays and pretty weak. You can't use it agressively anymore without having to worried to get downed 10 seconds later. It has lost it's strength. I know it was intended to be back to 3 seconds as soon as Enduring didn't affect every stun anymore (though it took them a lot of time to nerf it back to 3 seconds). But honestly it wasn't overpowered. Only the fact that it was active in endgame was problematic. But they nerfed that aspect as well. Survivors should have a way to punish a killer from reckless tunneling off the hook.

So my idea is to make the current DS basekit and buff the perks stun duration to 5 seconds. And it will still be deactivated in endgame so it won't be a free jail out perk.

Why not make all survivors perks basekit ? and also you can carry three object at the same time !

Oh and also increase survivors speed to 7 m/s

Not sure if those buff are enough, maybe also a 1000% gen repair speed on all the generators on the map ?

  • @shogoaluni said:

I always play survivor so therefore I have no idea how it is to play killer so I wanted y'all's perspective on tunneling. If you do tunnel, why do you do it? I am not asking out of saltyness, I'm genuinely curious if it is such a needed game strategy. Do you always tunnel, or is there something a survivor does to influence it? If you do not tunnel, why don't you? What do you do instead of tunneling to still have a productive game? I want to understand what's going on inside killer mains minds so it will help me get less frustrated by getting tunneled out some games. I also want your perspective on this type of stuff since I never play killer, i have no idea how it feels to be on the other side so I don't think it's fair to judge until I get some knowledge from the other end.

Why shouldn't I? It is currently the best possible tactic, works well with all or most killers, exploits weaknesses and creates pressure

Maybe because they don't have a clue how to fix or rework them without completely changing their concept or something.

Dude this isn't a eSports tournament game. It's.meant to be a casual game. It's not league or call of duty. You are confused about what game you are playing. The majority of players in DBD is casuals who don't want to spend hundreds of hours fine tuning there skills. Some people have lives and other ######### to do.

It's a PvP game, player versus player and by definition is competitive, there's a competition at the base. The fact you and other players decided to play it casual mean nothing, other players want to play it on a more serious level. You can not expect to perform well and win against those people if you're a casual gamer, damn you'll never win an any game on any level vs someone who's competitive so it's not a "dbd fault" it's your fault because you think YOUR way to see the game ( casual) should be the only way to play for everyone else

and again that's why i hope one day this game will have a ranked mode and an unranked mode

  • @Wowie said:

There's no reason to tunnel at 5 gens, which is what most people who tunnel do despite playing a strong killer and having meta loadouts.

It's a completely boring way to play on both sides, because rather than actually getting better at killer you're taking the half-assed route and ruining the match for everyone.

There's a time to tunnel, sure, but most killers do not wait until it is justified.

Also, Blight pfp talking about how tunneling is okay LOL!!!

    Maybe get good, stinky.

There is a reason to tunnel at 5 gens, it's called "winning"

"boring to play on both side" "ruining the match for everyone"

Not really, no, i'm having fun, my experience is not ruined and i'm not bored at all. If you are having fun it is not my concern, i'm not playing to amuse you, i haven't brought the game in order to have YOU having fun.

    "wait until it is justified"

LOL and who's going to decide WHEN is jutified ?You ? So it is not justified to start to work on generators before i have hooked everyone of you

  • he is the killer i love to play the most but he also has big problems depending on the map, in many of these the number of lockers is negligible or they are very badly positioned and unfortunately it affects his style of play too much

  • No it's an ok build don't worry, to be fair even if it was sweaty  would have been good too

I mean, that's my Legion build so..

    Legion.jpg

  • Correct BUT you forgot the SWF now also have this so-called QoL, so now they have both comms AND visual aid.

  • @VoidOfMe said:

    • 'Nice guy' killer builds are less viable/useful, due to the nerf to BBQ, Pop etc.

We can say the same for survivor perks

If you don't run the same meta perks you have no chance to escape

And, finally, someone said the truth ! For both killers and survivors the current meta is garbage because "or you run meta/run a specific tactic" or you have no chance to win. Problem is NOT tunneling/camping and is not DH or Adrenaline, the problem is how the game is right now because, both side ( those who play to win, not the casual players) are running the same things over and over and both side are building barricades on their own most efficent persk/tactis in order to do not lose the only thing that's working for them. Currently the only post you see are "nerf eruption, nerf dh, gen are to fast, tunneling" mean the game is suffering due a huge problem in the current gamplay and this problem is not going to be solved with "nerf" or "buff" one side or the other

BHVR should address game mechanics like map issues or add a second objective for killer/survivors and then balance both side equally around the mechanics not around soloQ, SFW or high MMR

But as long one side feel, right or wrong, to be less efficent than the other, we will see and increase of the most extreme and broken tactics and perk combination to fill that gap. I said in another post that, even the HUD change was needed and right it's no surprise the now killers feel the need to tunnel even more because they had nothing to compensate the gap.

So yeah survivors brings the most broken item and perks, killers brings the most broken tactics and perks

In-game mechanics that are added because a significant proportion of the player is cheating is still cheating, in-game or not doesn't matter in that particular case. You are not supposed to know what the killer is doing at all times. SWFs tell eachother anyway through voice comms and thereby cheat and BHVR in their infinite stupidity went "well, well, instead of dealing with it properly removing SWFs as this clearly doesn't work for this game, lets just make it so that everyone is cheating because if everyone is cheating then no-one is cheating". You have no business knowing what is going on on the other side of the map.

Game mechanics even if you don't like are not cheating so stop it.

Anyway another teleporter found in a match. I'm enjoy my 15 min penality because i don't play with cheaters

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Unfortunately camping and tunneling is the easiest option. Killers will do it until the devs make it less rewarding. We can only hope the devs will eventually change this.

Unfortunately genrushing with BNP, PT, Hyperfocus, bring second chance perk like COH, Adrenaline, DH, OTR, Deliverance, using the best perks/tool/medkit, run the safest loops is the easiest option. Survivors will do it until devs makle it less rewarding. We can only hope the devs will eventually change this.

Wait..do you mean suvrivor can use the easiest option and best strategy/perks/addon and killer can't ?

i don't see an update on the cheating issue. Yes they have said they have banned 10.000 people in few months but without a proof of that i'll not beleive that

    Two things:

    a) what update do you want? The nature of cheats prevent them from ever going into detail on things other than vague 'we are doing x to prevent cheats' in the patchnotes - and if they go into too much detail the general public wouldn't even understand it on a technical level and give more information to the cheaters. Vague = good when it comes to cheaters. You DON'T want the cheaters to get more information.

    b) What proof would you even accept?

I'll just reply with their own words here

    @Peanits said:

Cheating is an ongoing battle in any online game, and Dead by Daylight is no exception: There is a never-ending arms race between game developers and cheat makers to find and fix new vulnerabilities. Tackling these vulnerabilities has always been and will remain a top priority to us.

Lately, many of you have shared your experiences playing against cheaters, and we have no intention to leave you in the dark. First and foremost, we are abundantly aware of the ongoing situation, and we have been treating it very seriously. To put it bluntly, cheating sucks, and while we have made many measures to prevent it, it frustrates us just as much as you to hear that someone ruined your experience.

We tend to stay quiet when it comes to cheating to avoid giving cheat developers vital information, but given recent events, we’ve decided to pull back the curtain and shed some light on what we’ve been doing to combat cheating and what we’ll be working on moving forward. Please forgive any vague language in this post; we cannot share any information which could be used to make it easier to cheat.

    How We Deal With Cheaters

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3OX8NVSKMSFH/cheater-total.png

In Dead by Daylight, we have zero tolerance for cheaters. Once we detect someone has cheated (or is trying to cheat), their account is permanently banned from the game. There are a few ways we address cheats:

    1. Automated bans: We work with our anti-cheat partner, Easy Anti-Cheat, to report and track new cheats. If the anti-cheat detects one of these being used, they are automatically banned.
    2. In-game countermeasures: We make changes to both the game client and dedicated servers to prevent cheaters from doing certain things. This lessens the impact of cheats and reduces the amount of damage they can do.
    3. Manual bans: We investigate your reports and manually block cheaters. This is crucial when a new cheat has not yet been tracked by the anti-cheat.

In the last 7 days alone, we have banned over 2,000 cheaters, contributing to a total of over 200,000 banned over the lifetime of the game. Additionally, we have continued to expand our team and processes to deal with cheaters more efficiently.

There is still work to be done, but our team has made considerable efforts to strengthen various aspects of the game, such as preventing modification to certain game files, to block specific avenues for cheaters to exploit and lessen the impact of the cheats that surface.

    Future Improvements

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IQ0CDEYNWCG5/cheater-roadmap.png

Going forward, we plan to further bolster the game against cheaters. This will be done in various ways.

First, we will continue to identify & fix vulnerabilities to limit the effects of cheats. This includes additional measures to prevent player sniping (forcefully joining a specific player’s lobby). The first version of this fix is currently slated for this fall and we’ll continue to monitor the situation to ensure that it does not resurface. Fixes like these will be an ongoing process.

Second, we will be adding failsafes to commonly exploited portions of the game. For example, should a match ever continue beyond the end game collapse for longer than 5 minutes, the game will forcibly end. Additionally, the max game time will be reduced from 2 hours to 1 hour or less. This particular change is planned for this Q4 2022, and further measures are being explored.

Third, we will continue to implement server-side validation where possible. This takes authority away from a cheater’s game client and puts it on a dedicated server, making cheating much more difficult. This is an ongoing process.

Fourth, we have improvements in the works for both our player support tools to better deal with cheats internally, and in-game report system to give you feedback on when a player you’ve reported was banned. Player reports are a keystone of our cheat prevention measures and providing this feedback is essential to letting you know that your reports are being dealt with seriously. These improvements are scheduled for Q1 2023.

Beyond in-game improvements, we will be communicating on our progress against cheats more regularly as part of our Developer Updates and beyond. We want to keep you in the loop and share as much information as we safely can. Last but not least, we want to stress that these are by no means the only measures we are working on, but rather the ones we can safely share with you at this time.

    How You Can Help

While cheating will always be dealt with as swiftly as possible, your help is invaluable. There are a few ways you can help is in the fight against cheating.

The best way to help is to use the in-game report system. These reports are critical and help us identify possible cheaters. If you have a video of someone cheating, you can also send it to our support team through this link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Beyond reporting cheating you encounter, our support team is always available should you have any information on potential exploits or cheats.

Fostering a safe, cheat-free experience in Dead by Daylight is and will always be a top priority for the team. As with any online game, cheating is an ongoing battle, and we remain committed to making cheating as difficult as possible. We have been working diligently to limit the number and impact of cheats, and we hope that this post shared some insight into the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes. Going forward, we hope to keep you in the loop with regular communications regarding cheating and share as much info as we safely can.

    Until next time…

    The Dead by Daylight team

Beyond in-game improvements, we will be communicating on our progress against cheats more regularly as part of our Developer Updates and beyond. We want to keep you in the loop and share as much information as we safely can

And more there is a roadmap with several improvement. Now tell me, since that post and those promises have you have seen less cheating ?Because i do not, to be honest ( and many other have said the same ) the number of cheating is increasing. Have uou have been "in the loop" ? How many people have reported autodeadhard , killer bot and more ?Do you have seen any communication from BHVR after this post ? You know even just one simple "we are working on it" in the end of every patch note would be great.

To be honest they have come up with this post and promises ONLY because there was a public outbrust of several content creators, once they went silent, this question was put under the rug.

Even in their "seven years road map" there are no mention of this issue and yeah i was expecting at least a note on that roadmap. But no, nothing, zero at all

  • NO

Because this will reverse the game in a second, surviros will stop to do gen and start to hunt down the killer instead.

Exactly what happened in F13th the game, where once the way to kill Jason was discovered, it began the only way to play that stupid game and survivors were just doing that over and over

This is what he actually said if anyone is interested. So no tunneling is not necessary according to Otz himself. People love to misrepresent what he says. What he's actually saying is that tunneling is better than ever so people are naturally going to gravitate towards it. He never says the game is too hard as killer or anything of the sort. He didn't even mention gen rushing or regression being weak in his video that I can remember. People tunnel because it's easy mode. Especially against disorganized solos. I wish people would just be honest enough to admit that's why they do it. This whole idea that you can't win without tunneling is silly. It's also likely why some people are so desperate to see SWF nerfed. Since tactics like this have a much lower success rate against good teams. Good team = more second chance perks, better gen efficiency, better looping = less likely tunneling will succeed.

    And here we go again

Survivors are allowed to use best perks, best addons, best tactics, genrush, use comms, play smart, use easy tactics ( and, i'm fine with that i don't care ) BUT killers are required to be dumb as a rock, bring only subpar perks, avoid to use any logic, avoid to use "easy tactics" because...well that's easy you don't know how to play !!!

As if killers aren't tunneling every game to begin with lmao. All of this fear mongering as an attempt to get HUD changes reverted. Tunneling can't get worse than it is when it happens every game.

I notice more and more often that here people either don't know how to read or they invent things or put words in the mouth of others. I never said that the new HUD should be changed, on the contrary, I said it is an intelligent and necessary change. What I said and it seems obvious to me is that a buff (or QoL if it makes you happier) of this type without a balance on the killer side will necessarily lead to an even more extreme game than it was now. If before, against a SoloQ team I could even afford to play light, now I have to assume that I'm facing an SFW or almost so I have to go heavy.

Then I've never made a secret that, as a style of play, I start tunneling from the first second if I get the chance, I play to win and I'm not ashamed at all

This post is a pretty accurate look at the average killer main attitude. Tunneling is a lazy, boring tactic and most killers who play hard to win use it regularly.

So they see high mmr. All of a sudden they are struggling harder as a 50-200 hour killer against survs with 2,000 hours plus. They lean harder & harder into their crutch mechanic. Which makes for very boring games. I had this myself when I first started playing killer. It was incredibly easy to 4k games early on and suddenly I hit an mmr wall filled with bully squads. Took me a while to improve enough to push through that and now I can compete with them fairly evenly.

As someone who plays surv and killer roughly equally, I find survivor much harder to play. It doesn't take many mistakes to lose a game for survs. As killer if you know what you're doing most games are fairly easy.

Which is why I've switched up my killer playstyle. I aim for fun now and don't care about my rankings. And it's great fun. Sure I'll indulge in a little tunneling or facecamping every now and then if I'm against a sweaty team. But as long as survs don't BM I'll usually let one or two go. If I do well I take the game to a point where I know I've won, usually 2 survs alive without gens being finished and then I'll step back, let them finish gens and leave. If survs outplay me then I'll play normally right up to the end. Maybe facecamp one out in the EGC just to secure a kill (often ends up in trading a lot of hooks so plenty of BP) occasionally after trading a few hook states I'll step back from the hook and nod to let the unlucky hookee's team mates to take them off and escape.

I rarely ever tunnel, never in the early game. And tbh I've been loving it. I still get the challenge, it slows my mmr rise so I don't get too many mlg seal team 6s. And it's just a lot of fun, I have a lot of positive interactions with other xbox players (since I can't dm PC or PS players) and it makes the experience more positive.

I even had an oni game where the first surv to die messaged me just after I sacrificed them and I thought "here we go, here comes the tunneling accusation" but they'd sent me a gg WP. And we had a decent chat after. Probably because I didn't tunnel anyone early or facecamp any of them.

Tldr: killer mains need to chill a bit, if you sweat 4ks every game, you'll get sweaty survivors. If you tunnel, you can't complain if survs gen rush.

"casual versus competitive" that's the summary of it all. Either I play casually and lightly and I'm content to stay in the lower part of the game or I play to win and I strive to win, I'm not "friends" with the opponent (in the game of course). Taking it to the extreme it's like sport at an amateur and professional level, if you like to play as an amateur it's your free choice and that's fine, but if I want to play at another level well, it's my choice.

that's why I argue that, instead of this stupid MMR where everyone, both those who want to play casually and those who want to play seriously, are together, there should be two modes "ranked" and "unranked" and everyone would find his oasis of peace

My mistake the second part of that sentence was for brown, no idea why it was mixed up in your reply. Easy to do with me replying to multiple convo's in here.

What bonus are you talking about exactly? I for one would care less if it was just a flat XP or Bloodpoint bonus.

A bonsu like a semi Dying light effect

Let's say i hook player A, as long i do not hook player A again before i have hooked player B, survivors receive a 5% gen speed penality. If i then hoob B the penality increae to 8% ( rough numbers, don't nitpink on those are just for example ). Then i stumbole on A, i hook him again but i do not lose any bonuses since both hooks were not directly one after the other. And so on.

This is, by far, the best way to prevent tunneling

  • when the perfect and fantastic MMR ( sarcasm mode on ) system pits me against inexperienced players, usually in the end game chat I politely allow myself to point out what they have done wrong in the game or how they should face a certain killer. Unfortunately most of the time, the maximum of the concept they express is "camper/tunneler" but hey, I try to be helpful

Honestly. Who cares? It’s there, live with it. The survivor doesn’t even get distance anymore so just keep chasing them and hit them again.

And people think they go against cheaters a lot more often than they actually do.

Indirectly they gain distance as a result of the speed boost due to the hit they received, often enough to reach a new safe point or move away or prolong the chase

Dh provides a third health state directly and indirectly a speed boost

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

    any objections?

Not much of an impact, i would prefer to lower chase music and some power music ( Plague anyone?) or some killer footstep sound (knight...damn his footstep make my ears bleed ).

Corrput intervention or deadlock as basekit

Dyling Light o tanatophobia as basekit

    Shattered hope as basekit

But to be honest, the biggest and more importan "QoL" for killer right now it would be a complete redesing of maps and how loops works, change almost every pallet in unsafe pallets, remove connecting tiles, remove connecting tiles with shack, remove connecting tiles with shack and main building, redesing Garden of Joy, Springwood, Decimated Borgo and other stupid maps. This is the best QoL killer need right now

Absenteeism towards cheaters? Once upon a time I would have understood your sentiment but BHVR have been doing a great job on that front over the last half year.

where and how exactly other than claiming they have done something ? Because i see a huge number of cheaters every day, i don't see a friendly report system, i don't see an update on the cheating issue. Yes they have said they have banned 10.000 people in few months but without a proof of that i'll not beleive that. When in three games in a row i see two people teleporting and one able to insta repairing gen well....no they are not doing anything at all to stop or limit cheaters

Literally EVERYTHING the devs do that isn't hard-buffing killers 'will lead to unbridled tunnelling/camping', because it's the killers' beatstick. It's their answer to literally everything.

with the gen progress indicator allowing accurate timings

Like what does this even mean? Does this person think that people hit better skillchecks now because of this gen progress indicator? What the F are these 'accurate timings' supposed to be?

But no, this minute change is enough to go 'tunnel and camp' some more.

    Because literally every change is.

You really need to be stripped of your toys if you're just going to ruin the game for everyone else the second anything happens that you don't like.

Can you please point out where i said that killers need hard-buffing please ? Don't put words in my mouth. I litteraly said "counterbalancing" meaning if you add something on a side, you should add something on the other side as well. No matter if you think if a batstick or not, that's the status of the game right now, you need to hard tunnel in order to win, more than even with some low tier killers. And you're feel free to don't trust me of course, just see the how the game goes in the following weeks, you will see and increase of tunnelling even more. Why ? Well read what i have just said.

  • But it makes perfect sense that this is the case and he is absolutely right.

If before, to win I didn't need to resort to extreme tunneling because I had other means to compete, now it's not like that.

Now that a generator is done in 30 seconds or even less, I can't waste time on subtleties or "polite" builds, I have to use the hard way, erutpion, cob, pain res and tunneling from the beginning.

The problem with invoking nerfs at full blast is this, that the balance is ruined and instead of obtaining a balance, you only get increasingly marked extremes and it is the fault of a short-sighted perspective that does not see the general picture

Let's take the maps for example and the thousand godpallets, infinite or almost infinite loops, the shack which is an incredible waste of time, extremely weak killers compared to others are all neglected game elements which however have an enormous weight. Fixing these aspects could have an impact on tunneling making it less necessary but, the longer you wait to change things drastically, the more impossible it will be to fix it

What else should an M1-D-Tier Killer do? Losing by default? 😅

Of course we will see Tunneling lore and more.

I know and I'm totally in favor of extreme tunneling and all other tactics but it's BHVR's fault that they see a huge buff as a simple QoL without thinking about the consequences. I laugh at those who think that, after such a heavy change (as far as I am in favor of this change), there won't be even more aggressive playstyles.

The change in itself is right and dutiful and also necessary but it should have been accompanied by an opposite balance, for example Corrupt Intervention basekit or other changes, this was not the case and now, slowly, every killer will come to the sole and logical conclusion that he must start tunneling/camping/slugging from the first moment of the game and without any respite if he wants to be able to win, especially if he uses an M1 killer or a weak killer ( sadako ? Freddy ? )

  • @drsoontm said:

Since yesterday, my games as killers have been a lot of parallel-gens/gens-before-friends.

Of course, with the gen progress indicator allowing accurate timings, this is the easiest way to win.

I guess that now, if I want to get consistent progress the main option is tunnelling from the start, with a side of camping.

What a surprise huh? I can't wait until everyone realizes that this so-called QoL (which is a buff to both soloQ and SFW) without counterbalancing the game, will only lead to unbridled tunnelling/camping and will only ever get worse

The whole point of the game is to have fun, t he same way that you're getting mad that survivors are teabagging.

"You don't need any nerfs, you need to give the killers something that has a higher value than tunneling."

And then the killer will just tunnel AND do whatever has a higher value. Regardless tunnelling does need to be addressed. There's no doubt about that. It's easy mode killer season right now and the game in its current state is a joke.

"the same way that you're getting mad that survivors are teabagging."

Could you please stop assuming things about me since we don't know each other? Because, i know that's shocking, i don't care if they teabag me or call me names in end game chat or write -rep on my steam page, really i couldn't care less

"And then the killer will just tunnel AND do whatever has a higher value."

And nope, the bonus persist as long you don't hook twice the same survivor, if you decide to hook twice then you loose the value, your choice

  • I don't hate the Devs indeed I am grateful to them for having created DBD, a game that I adore, which has also helped me a lot not to think about the bad things that I have recently experienced BUT I don't appreciate their total absenteeism towards cheaters, I don't appreciate their total lack of interest in the structure of the maps, I don't agree with them on how the game is maintained ( do we want to talk about the Twins ? ) and I don't approve of their vision of the game which, after seven years, is essentially unchanged in terms of mechanics

  • @Xristougenna said:

Dont worry, bhvr repeatly told that cheats are allowed.

Since they're not doing anything about it, I'm starting to really think that's the case

What makes me angry is that cheaters not only ruin the game, but if I decide not to play against them, I also get a penalty for disconnecting and that's ridiculous

I would really like to receive an official answer, what should I do since the reports are useless, if I disconnect I have a penalty, if I don't do anything in the game well...I waste time so..BHVR tell me what to do in case of cheaters in game? Nothing ? Listen some music ? Watch a movie ? Uninstall the game ?

    What do you mean SO?

Its just like what's happening in call of duty right now, SO MANY WEAPONS and everyone in the BR is choosing LMG's, which is the next nerf that's about to be dished out for the next season.

Just because its a tactic doesn't mean it should be in 90 PERCENT + of games. That's abysmal stats for a game that boasts about having "multiple strategies" to win.

Everyone here complaining that tunnelling should not be nerfed are the main reason why it needs to be nerfed, so they're forced to learn how to play the game and not ruin the fun for 1 person. You want SWF bully squads addressed yes? Then I want Tunnelling addressed.

"You want SWF bully squads addressed yes'?"

not really, no i don't care.

"Not ruin the fun for 1 person"

Not my concern if you are having fun or not, i want to win and, that's the best tactic so far

  • @wydyadoit said:

why doesnt everybody just use breakdown and deliverance and petrified oak. Literally Disables a hook for 3 minutes. What kind of stupid nonsense is that?! Don’t even get me started on reassurance+distortion and kindred bait builds.

hooks are starting to feel like pointless objectives. Might as well start running kill builds.

Because there are other hooks nearby i can easly reach, unless we're in midwich. Even with 4 p.oaks there's always an hook i could reach. Sure you can go with sabo too but then if you adopt this tactic i'll start to slug and camp more than ever

  • Trapper could be easly the most strongest and fun killer out there with only few small tweeks, like a smaller TR but, for some mysterious reasons, he is the weakest one, forgotten by devs in a limbo with a brunch of others weak killers

  • @jjthejetplane3 said:

Keep everything that has been changed except taking away shortening the wiggle time by hitting great skill checks. Killers are able to easily counter this by using Agitation. So to balance it out bring back shortening the carry time. Instead of every great skill check, make it every two greats. With the amount of hooks on the maps and how fast the killers are already, this would even it out. Especially with the standard gameplay we've been seeing recently with increased rates.

    Just a thought.

Unless you're planning something specific for the killer, no one brings Agitation, just a wasted perk slot

  • Ok

May i have the option to do not play against survivors using DH, PT, BNP, Adrenaline, OTR, toolbox and medikit ?

I don't use eruption or any gen kicking perk. Gen kicking perks, and the whole 3 gen strat is extremely boring to me. I just want to have fun chases. I normally run Lethal/bbq/deadlock/pain res

I'm sorry but if you complain about gens are too fast ( and i do agree ) and you don't run any gen regression perks, you don't care to defended at least 3 generators and you're looking only for chases well...is your fault. You put no pressure on the gens, you apply no pressure on survivors as well unless you're able to end a chase in a second and then start another one immediatly

Pain res is a great perk on paper but really it's too random and isn't constant unless you get lucky with hook placement.

Dreadlock is a great perk but by itself it doesn't do much if you can't apply the right amount of pressure on the generators

  • @mr_Beast_Artist said:

It should have been done long ago so that any killer could not use abilities while standing at the hook !!!

Today, a knight was caught who was camping and sent his squad to interfere with the repair of generators. As a result, it is impossible to save a person on a hook and repair a generator too.

    No it is not impossible

Work on another generator so he must move away or run two survivors to unhook. There it is, problem solved, wasn't that hard or impossible
