People will never be satisfied.
Use the new PGTW. Use the better version of PR. Use Corrupt.
It won't carry you anymore, but that doesn't mean that these perks aren't good. You have to show some good Killer gameplay in order to get value.
That's a good thing.
Agree, you have to show some good killer gameplay in order to get value, fully agree with you
Can we have the same for survivors too now or 6% gen speed repair just because you're in game is enough as "good gameplay"? I mean as killer i have to work hard to chase, hook, prevent gens to pop in 30 seconds, i'm sure sitting in front of a gen pressing one button while you have tons of bonuses is a measure of good gameplay as well right ?

Hux is fun! It may not be instantly evident to everyone who plays it, but once it's power clicks, it becomes an oppressive chase monster with nice built-in info and slowdown. It's also a lovely design. And it talks. I don't know how powerful it is compared to the rest of the lineup, but those who want a top-tier teleport killer could always just play Nurse.
The Dvarka map... it has so much nice detail nobody will notice during a trial. Some people poured a lot of love into all the little tidbits. It must be a thankless job - dbd players hate half of the maps in general, and we definitely hate new ones we've yet to get familiar with. Yet... we're in SPAAAAACE! How cool is that?
And Gabriel... well, hope some survivor player says some nice things about him. I like his visibility jacket and his screams.
So... what else to like about the new chapter?
Hux is an m1 killer as long EMP exist in this state, if they are changed who knows but, right now, is F tier killer
The map is horrible, maybe looks cool but has the strongest main building in the game, way to few lockers, too many obstacles and issues
The new survivor has 2 OP perks
SO yeah..another terrible chapter
-
Let's be honest, this killer is awful. Period
Sure, on paper is amazing, in reality is just an m1 killer without power due the EMP or bad map design
-
What is sad is, everything people are saying now has been said in the PTB but, as usual, BHVR don't listen player's feedback
-
Scavenger is even more OP than Made for this
-
F - tier
Complete useless killer
-
EMP need a total rework, it's too easy to have one, they keep spawnning around the map, survivor can self remove pod without even stopping in a chase so yeah, M1 killer with no power at all

NightLight*
NightLight is entirely self-reported and is only available to an extreme minority subset of our community. To take it as anything serious is silly.
You might be able to extrapolate general perk usage trends, but actually quoting the numbers found there verbatim? Beyond ludicrous.
NightLight, my bad
True, it is only a minority of people, nevertheless it is a significant sample and, currently, the only source of data that is available
If the perk usage part can be accurate, the kill rate part can also be accurate and, as long the official statistics remains a secrets, this site is the only way to get a fairly accurate idea of the situation

Doubt it.
Completely anecdotal, but I suspect it's gone up. If it hadn't, they wouldn't be pushing forward with their proposed changes.
If you look at Nightshade, kill rate is around 54%, some killers are even below 50% and, as long nothing official is shown to us, that's the most accurate data around here.

It's not that they've "refused" to show it. The game is 7 years old and they literally showed kill rates *once* in that time, and it was only several months ago after a big killer buff/ perk overhaul update that was done with the sole intention of increasing kill rates. They shared the kill rates to show that the update had the intended outcome. I'm not sure why they're apparently required to update us now every several months when they hadn't done so in several years?
We've also just come out of a gen kick meta that was being used to stall games, and I guarantee kill rates increased artificially during that time. Now that build has been nerfed, it'll take time for kills to settle at their actual legitimate rates.
Because, the 60% kill rate was in line after that update but now the meta has changed, the gen kick build, the regression build are different than before so you can not say "dev are happy with the kill rate" because they were happy months ago, now the kill rate is different and that's why they should show statistics. I mean, what's the point of keep the secrets on everything ?
-
@Nazzzak said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3433168#Comment_3433168
Your question isn't straightforward. The devs make changes based around balancing. Currently, they're happy with kill rates. Nerfing swf will increase kill rates. Which will lead to killer nerfs. It's a domino effect. It's not a matter of 'when have they nerfed swfs?' and more of 'have they ever actually needed to?'
They said they were happy with 60% kill rates months ago, but right now, even if many people ask for stats and number they refuse to show anything..do you wonder why ? Yeah that's right because the real kill rate is way below 60%
-
Are official stats ? Of course not
Are accurate ? Yeah i bet they are very accurate
Are we going to see official BHVR stats ? Lol no way
-
As i'm saying here yes, there are MANY cheaters in game and BHVR doesn't care
-
I hate having to update this post every day, but will continue to do so until I see clear action against cheaters
I wish everyone would do it, i wish the "big names in streaming" to do another public outburst and shed some more light on this issue
At the moment it is impossible to know if we play against cheaters or honest people and it makes me very angry and should anger the whole community, this deafening silence from BHVR, this total lack of transparency on cheaters, this lack of support and a functioning reporting system
So yeah, again, what are you doing BHVR to stop cheating ?
-
Hello BHVR any update about cheaters ? Any news ?
Just reported 40 people (10 games, i report everyone now) as "suspicious cheater". Are they cheaters ? No ? Yes ? Who knows since EAC is not working and there is no real anti cheat protection
-
And then the game will become a trash like Friday the 13th, when people found out how to kill Jason, everyone was doing that instead or running away
-

No. Fix maps instead of nerfing a perk thats already fine. Windows wasnt even used when it had the cool down
Make WoO a radius like perk ( you'll see pallet in a 12m area ) and fix the maps
There you go, problem solved
-
Another day without BHVR doing anything about cheating
I'll update this post every day until i see a proper action from BHVR against cheaters and i'll report everyone i face in each game, how do i know if they are legit or suspicious players after all
-
To me, any tactics that may lead to victory is not toxic at all, both for survivor or killer, you do what you can to win. There is no "genrush" as there's no "tunnel", both side want to win. Period.
The only problem i have is how fast you can repair a gen but that's different from genrushing. To me, being able to fully repair a gen in 30 second or less is wrong (but also being able to fully heal someone in 7 second is wrong too )
-
The MMR system doesn't even remotely work.
I have 1500 hours of play, I'm a PH main and, almost always, I finish games with a 3k or 4k. Lately, I end up in lobbies with players who have yellow perks, 100 hours of play, have no idea what to do and it shows, and honestly, I feel sorry for them.
Last night, I was able to made a kill when not even one generator was finished and the survivors were running desperately without logic. I swear i felt sorry for them so I started showing them which gen to fix and I accompanied them to the exit gates because, really, it wasn't remotely a challenge for me.
Things like that are happening way to often and it's not fair for anyone, it's not fair for me because I want to a serious challenge, is not fair to them because they have no hope of winning

It's BHVR that should make the game enjoyable for both side, it's not one side responsability to make the game enjoyable for the other side
Now you get it. This is exactly OP's point.
No it's not OP's point. Op blame people who are doing that, trying to throw shame on people doing it and refuse to acknowledge this as a valid tactic and, require killers to care about OP fun. Is the same thing as the "survivor rulebook" or the "tunneling problem", blame others for a valid tactics bringin the only argunent that is "not fun for me" and completly disregards the other side point of view.
As i said, for me, chase a survivor for 2 minutes is not fun, shall i do expect bhvr change this to make it easier ?Shall i blame people who run aways instead of receive the hit ? No, i should learn how to play better or, change game.

The valid argument here is that a game should be fun for all involved, particularly when it requires multiple willing participants/opponents to take place.
If a game can't be fun for both sides, it might as well be single-player.
Fine, then remove all the pallets and vault in the game because for the killer chasing someone around a pallet or shack is not fun.
Are you ok with this change right ? I mean, you just said the game should be fun for both side no matter what so...
It's BHVR that should make the game enjoyable for both side, it's not one side responsability to make the game enjoyable for the other side

I'm not saying punish killers for downing survivors. I'm saying punish killers who leave survivors on the ground for long periods of time. You do realize if every match was only killers going around downing survivors and ignoring hooks altogether that this game would not be fun to play as survivor.
But it's fun for the killer.
You see, until you make a valid argument other than "this is not fun for me" this topic will never end. Fun is a subjective matter, what is fun or unfun FOR you doesn't apply to everyone.
it's the same thing as the "survivor rulebook", someone invented this idiocy and someone expects it to be respected otherwise "you0re playing unfair". And who says it? Why should the killer follow a made up thing created only because people sucks so bad at this game they need to an excuse to justify their low skill ?
You don't like to be slugged ? There's already the counterplay, it's called "learn how to loop"

I knew there would be a forum post about this video…
99.9% of your lobbies will never come close to playing like this.
But this is absolutely not true. Of course, you probably won't meet survivors at THAT level and with THAT speed, but a medium-level SWF is enough, with the right perk and the generators are repaired in less than 30 seconds
The point is not a single team, the point is, fixing a generator in 30 seconds shouldn't be possible

I care about my opponents fun because i know what its like. Its the biggest reason why I refused to bring dead hard (the old version and the new one), or something like noed or eruption when i play killer. I could care less if you tunnel to get wins if you care that much about winning so bad. However, your “Your entertainment is not my problem” is such a bad way of going about things in this game.
See ? I don't care at all
Bring DH, BNP, Tbag me and write -rep comment on my profile..if that's make you happy good for you i'm not coming here writing "i'm not having fun because survivors tbag me" or "it's unfun and unhealthy they use BNP" or, "i would like to see your gameplay without DH".
This is the game, you play for fun and chat with friends and meme and dancing around ? Good and i wish you to find many games where you can have fun in your way.
I play to win, i'm competitive, i want a proper fight but then i do not cry if i lose and i have NEVER writen a bad thing in the end chat game because, when the game is over, it's over. It's like a boxing match, on the ring we do out best to win, then we hug eachother when the match is over.
And that's the problem and the issue with the game right now. Not the "fun" or "tunnel", the problem is that people like you and people like me share the same game and this one of the biggest fault BHVR ever done. There it should be a ranked mode ( for me ) and a casual mode ( for you ) and everyone will be happy
So yeah ask to nerf tunnel, gen kick, slug, camp and everything else but, we ( people who play to win ) will find a way to play in a way that you don't like because "it's unfun"

You are part of the problem
No, the problem is that you're so entiteld to pretend to dictate how i should have fun and how i should play in order for YOU to have fun and if i play for my own fun you call it toxic
I play to win, i play hard, i tunnel hard and i do everything i can to win and to have fun, my entertainemt is important to me, not yours
I'm a gamer exactly like you, i'm a paying cutomer exactly like you so..why YOUR fun should matter and not MY fun ?
THe first day i start to play at DBD i haven't said "oh let's see what i can do to make EmmaFrostyEyes and other survivors happy and having fun" i said "Ok let's win some games" and i'm pretty much sure you don't care about me and my fun either right ? Nor i do want that, i said it before, i do expect survivor to play rough and hard and do their best to win exactly as me
-
Unless I missed a patch note, this change won't happen right now but is planned for the future.
At the moment, given the high number of (dutiful) criticisms, I hope it will be tested a lot and for a long time in the PTB and radically changed from how it was presented

@Sonzaishinai said:
Camping is pretty selfexplanatory. One person (2 if you count the killer) is litterally not playing the game. This wouldn't be so bad in cases of end game where you already had a game but in cases of a single chase and the game is over for you unless the rest of the team throws the match to risk trying to save you it's clear it's a problem.
Tunneling is a bit more tricky. I honestly don't think tunneling is as bad as it used to be. In the past tunneling was really unfair. you could get knocked down a nanosecond after getting unhooked and the only effective ways to stop it were perks which forced you to play with the same things over and over again.
Nowadays with BT basekit you generally always make it to some sort of defence so you are playing the game.
There is technically nothing wrong with seeing the game as a series of 1v1's where the survivor being chased buys time for their teammate. But it is also undeniable that games where everyone gets involved are just more fun so we should try to aim for that
Your entertainment is not my problem, I don't play killer to entertain you but to have fun for me.
You are not having fun ? Not my problem
I play to win and use every tactic that I consider valid as, I imagine, happens on the other side, indeed I expect the survivors to do the same as me, that they are not interested in my fun, that they bring the strongest perks and play to the maximum to win.
Camping doesn't mean the killer isn't playing, he's playing and keeping an area and a target (and maybe even a nearby generator or two) under his control zone. I've recently started using Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine and I must say it works well, I keep myself slightly away so that the Scourge Hook does its job and, as soon as I see a survivor trying to save, I intervene by blocking the road and preventing the rescue or making a profitable trade hook or hunting doing the unhooked one if it is stage two
They are called tactics and strategy. Aren't they fun for survivors? Who care?
-
As a killer main, I deeply hate this map, I think it's one of the worst existing ones for me.
First, survivors get a free generator, it's practically impossible to defend the generator in the saloon (same as the generator in the Garden of Joy house) it's just a waste of time to fight for that generator. The main building is TOO strong, too many escape routes, safe windows, strong pallets and outside there are other quite strong pallets. The part of the buildings with the walls to break is a big waste of time even if, allow, some mind gaming.
Generator spawning is also a big deal. Of course, sometimes a very close 3 gen cluster happens but, sometimes, some gen are on elevated platforms as spawns and offer immediate escape routes and can be repaired very easily
The only thing I like about this map is the shack with the breakable door. All killer shack should look like this and, I think, this is the real reason why the map is considered by many "killer friendly"

That's a disingenuous argument and you know it. Your hyperbole just shows you're incapable of having a productive discussion about the health of the game.
It is too easy to use cheap tactics to win as killer. Hooking someone in a deadzone and proxying camping them hitting them off hook and chasing them down for a free down is incredibly easy to do.
Lets not pretend its not happening. I run deli, dh, otr and DS and I can still be tunneled out of a game in less than 5 gens. Thats insane. I've got 4 perks to counter being tunneled and theres just nothing you can do if the killer wants you out of the game.
you turn a game into a 3v1 before 3 gens are done and its gg. That's counter intuitive to skill expression. Thats just ungabunga.
Learn how to loop
Problemi solved
-
Basekit Bloody Coil
Start with all the traps
There you go, Trapper is now a B tier Killer
-
The problem is BHVR and their smoky view of how they want the game to be or whatever the target audience is. Casual ? Pros? SoloQ ?SWF? Who knows, but for sure, it's already extremely difficult to balance something asymmetrical, let alone when adding variations such as how to be able to speak via voice and coordinate or not.
As a community it's all a game of "we against them" but the reality of the facts is that BHVR IS the problem and their logic behind the game because it is impossible to balance something that is not balanceable. They tried the HUD but it was useless, even with the new HUD, SoloQ are ten steps behind SWF.
Yesterday I played with the Trapper, RPD West Wing Map against 4 SoloQ P60+. Result ? All dead without making ANY gen. It that the kind of gameplay BHVR want ? Fine, then balance around it
Next match i went against an extremely good SWF as Pyramid Head : result 1 dead and 3 escaped and i was about to go crazy, Again, is this the kind of game BHVR want?Fine, then balance around it
But THEY CANNOT balance around those two different kind of game.
The one and only solution is to remove the ability to create SFW (except for custom games) and balance it around SoloQ if, BHVR wants SoloQ to be the official game mode or If instead it must be SWF then the official ranked mode is the one where there are only SWFs and the game must be balanced around the SWF. Any other solution only does damage and leads to nothing
Once BVHR has decided which is the official target for the survivors (SoloQ or SWF), it will be possible to balance the killers, the tunneling, the camping, the perks, the maps and all the rest but as long as, in the same game pool there are BOTH SoloQ AND SWF, however much effort and ideas and suggestions and feedback you can give, nothing will ever change
-
I think it's fair that the killer appears in game only when all gen are finished and the exit gates are open and the survivors are close to the exit, the fact that the killer is in game is unhealthy and unfun. BHVR make this change now

no we are not ignoring that, which is why there's a buff to Deja Vu in the patch notes.
It's the circumstances around the killer going into a match and just setting up for a 3 gen that we're looking to address in the long term. Playing for the game to end in an hour isn't the intended way for DbD to be played.
Then rework the maps !
Deja Vu change is really a BAD BAD BAD change, permament gen speed boost ? always know the location of the gens ? It's truly bad
You're the one who made the maps and you are the one who change change gen spawn location so, instead od buff a perk why don't you fix maps and gen location spawn in order to avoid 3 gens ?

1, So because you are single player you are entitled to just win more. Got it. Your side is just entitled...
2, stats are INCOMPLETE. Because they lack DC's which are hard to compute. With incomplete stats you get incomplete picture and incomplete answer
1) You have no idea what you're talking about, do you? The kill rate has nothing to do with whether you win or not. We are not talking about 60% of victories but about kill rate and it is a very different thing
2) It would be enough to have official stats, problem solved. But, again, who knows why they are not shown

You do know we will never know if BHVR did anything because they won't announce it in any way shape or form. They don't want to let those who make the cheats aware of the new security changes and work on aa new backdoor or way to bypass the system they are developing or have in place.
This is a I line game and there will ALWAYS be cheaters.Id someone wants to cheat there will be someone selling the new set of cheats.
"They don't want to let those who make the cheats aware of the new security changes"
That's a lie they have sold to you. No one is asking for security details, no one want to see technical blueprint or anything else (and, btw, hackers do not need those information, they already have)
What we want is to see are those things THEY promised us in 2022 with the post THEY wrote. The new feedback system ? The "keep the community in the loop" ? Some cheat can be hard to stop i may agee but seeing over and over and over THE SAME CHEAT well..
Sure there always going to be cheaters in a live game, but i have rarely seen so many in a game
Like i just had a match and one guy was using auto dead hard...so are 3 game in a row with 3 different cheaters

1, 60% is already unfair. 50% would be balanced. I have no idea why it's "fair" for one side to win more
2, they don't count DC's. And surv DC's are 4x as common as killer DC. DC's mostly happen when the game is lost (not always tho)
If they made real stats counting everything, you would be surprised
1) it's fair because it's a 4v1 not 2v2
2) I would very much like to be surprised but guess what, the real stats are secret
-
It will never happen that they release new and official stat, otherwise they could not continue to spread their lie that the game is balanced and the kill rate is 60% but they should admit that it is much lower, that many killers are extremely weak and need rework and that, currently, there are many, too many, problems to be solved
Here, check this out
It is official ? Of course not but it is a good indicator of the current situation right now , the kill rate is 55%
If you go through all the killers, some are even below 50%

Don't assume that I'm saying it because a streamer said it. I've played this game for a long time, and I've observed these forums for a long time. The general consensus is that people find tunneling, camping and genrushing to be unfun. I've yet to see a single person say they find being tunneled out of the game at 5 gens to be fun. No killer ever has said they enjoy being genrushed. No survivor has raved about how much fun they're having dangling from a hook with zero chance to actually play the game.
You're complaining about a feature that's intended to solve a long-standing problem before it's even been tested. The idea is a good one, and the PTB will be used for feedback on the range. I believe that 16m is a bit much, and we could reduce that to 12m. If we reduce it to the bare-minimum range, then every killer who camps will simply stay just outside that range, effectively making it pointless.
Just because camping can be used strategically, doesn't mean that every killer is using it as part of some larger strategy. They're generally doing it because it's a guaranteed kill.
I'm not interested in the "general consensus" or genrush, it is as it is and I adapt to the game and the opponent's tactics. If the survivors want to genrush well, I'll try to adapt to their strategy because this is the game and also the beauty, tactics against tactics, strategies against strategies. This "solution" only shows how much the Devs don't know their game, don't know their maps and don't know the dynamics during a game
As I said before there are a lot of maps, practically all of them, that can have big problems with this change just because of how hooks and gens are arranged.
Why should a good tactic (patrolling an area and defending it) be punished and made difficult? Why should a defense strategy be canceled for no reason? To prevent one game out of 10 from having no facecamp (and real facecamp)?
-
@Kaitsja said:

It's as much a strategy as tunneling and genrushing are strategies. At the end of the day, all three "strategies" are unfun to play against.
Please stop this "unfun" and "unhealthy" just because some streamer used these words now you use them for everything, it's ridiculous.
"unhealty and unfun" are bad map design, OP perks and addons, not tactics and strategies
There are a thousand variables that make this idea incredibly stupid and punitive and force the killer to make choices that don't make sense.
Classic situation : 3 survivors are in play, 2 generators remain to be repaired. I can hook a survivor, maybe one of the hooks on the hill or in the center of RPD or near the 3 gen of Dead Swang Saloon
Nearby (within 16 meters) I have a generator or two and we all know this is possible. Now, the fact that I HAVE to leave this area is ridiculous. I'm not talking about remaining fixed within 1 meter facing the survivor (THIS is face camp) but staying in defense of a strategic area and THIS is tactics
And don't tell me there are only a few maps that can have these problems because it's not true. Virtually all maps have hooks near generators ( RPD, The Game, Midwich, Blackwater, etc ), many have problems with hooks on two levels or absurd combinations and in some phases of the game, especially when few gens are missing, patrolling an area is a form of defending strong positions
I could (and I'm not) agree on the first stage self hook but SECOND STAGE self unhook plus endurance + speed boost is really ridiculous

Then guard that gen from outside the zone, or on the outermost part you can reach...
Sure
for example RPD map where there are 2/3 hooks near the center with 2 gens usually and i have to leave the entire area just because otherwise i'll camp ? are you serious ? this is just plain stupid

What BHVR doesn't realize is that in many maps, practically all, there are situations like this where the hook is near a generator.
If I use that hook with a survivor, and maybe 1 or 2 generators are missing to be completed, it's not "face camp" if I stay in that area but it's tactic, stay close to a target and an important area. Why should I ever walk away? It's ridiculous
