sorry that my friends and I have more than 2 brain cells and know how to play this game effectively
map design is more important than gen speeds, if you don’t understand this than you don’t understand this game

Yea F those survivors who wait 10 minutes to get into a match, brings a purple flashlight, burns a cold wind offering and expects to bully the killer but instead gets completely shat on and has the nerve to say I’m bad 🤣🤣🤣
I play both sides at reds
its clear based on your lack of understanding that you do not. I refuse to tunnel or camp and will let someone go since it’s not fun to just kill someone off immediately.
”I felt like I had power so I don’t care if I ruined it for someone else”
also is it really that hard to just look at a wall or bait the flashlight?

It means something, it is used to taunt a killer, it is used to mock a player. It translates to "lmao, you bad". You know this. You don't find this offensive? Cool, you're thick skinned, you're really special, but there are sensetive people out here and people who can get fed up with such attitude. Are you really trying to say that teabagging in this game is not bad because it's kinda a new thing? Are you for real?
Yeah, people press CTRL to insult people, 21st freaking century. You find this funny, it actually is funny if you think about this out of context, but I simply can't explain how online rude non-verbal communication works because you totally fail to see one.
"Teabagging isn't toxic because it wasn't known for hundreds of years." 🤡 You sound like some relatively old middle-aged man who calls people snowflakes for trying to be polite.
It’s a videogame about killing people
the only 🤡 is you for getting worked up over tbagging
-
“Why do toxic get mad when they get tunneled”
oh yes I love sitting in long queues to play vs a killer who holds W and chases me off hook without being able to do anything
yea F those people who get mad!!!!!
-
I have all killers but pig and I get everyone’s offerings, Freddy, Myers etc
it’s really annoying especially when I’m forced to take it
-
rank 4 kek
come talk me when you it’s a 50/50 chance to get hit through a window or pallet when you are fully clear, or playing solo and having to carry a group of monkeys
BT/DS/Unbreakable can ALL be played around, saying otherwise is wrong and two of them are 1 time use
as a side note, why does it seem like I’m one of the only people on this site who plays both at Rank 1-2?
its not hard to understand both sides

4 minutes with no pressure sounds like a you issue.
Like, yes, games are fast, but really? 3 people did 5 gens in 4 minutes? ######### were you doing?
Chasing one person for 3:30?
Also, it's almost as if they're releasing toolbox changes to watch gen speeds and see if something needs to be done. Damn. I wish they would LoOk At ObJeCtIvE tImEs.
To be fair, the 4min game issue has merit.
I played vs. a Doc on Temple shortly after the ruin nerf, I specifically remember timing it no toolboxes and being solo.
Last gen popped at 4:30~
Obviously this is not how all game go, but maps being the size of a city are bad for the game

you are just baiting dude and if you somehow aren’t, you have yet to make a proper response to anything I’ve said to you and just keep throwing out non-arguments.

Ok wise guy, in case you haven't noticed, someone is telling a story about him camping, and the survivor being a salty baby over it, much like you are right now.
If you don't care, then why are you here? I'll tell you why, it's because entitled (BLEEP) like you crave for attention, and you post "who cares" like a mindless idiot who thinks whatever the heck they're doing will get people to like you, but in the end, you're simply a single man wondering why a woman won't get with you by insulting them.
So if I were you, I would think very carefully about the things you're about to post before you do so, as it's pretty clear that other people are commenting here, as they do care. But just because they aren't talking about something you aren't interested in, (which, again, why are you here in the first place.) then that doesn't mean that the post is pointless to every single person in the world, you attention-craving (BLEEP).
or I am asking, who cares?
seeing a dozen posts about how survivor players are literally Satan everyday is getting old
-
I wrote a long reply addressing maps and gen speeds but I checked back and it’s gone now...
Basically what I replied with originally; maps being extremely large IE Temple vs Church affect the time it takes to complete gens and reworking then is a better fix than just cranking up gen repair time number.
also, breakable walls are a bandaid fix to map design, as it is easier to implement than full map reworks, whether this is good or bad depends on your POV. An example is the balanced landing nerf as opposed to reworking Haddonfield.
edit: I guess my old comment was deleted, kinda annoying as it was a fully thought out post, but what do you expect... 🙃

The only one lacking mobility is her from that list above.
Hag - low movement speed, traps must be placed and are dependent on survivors not crouching or intentionally setting them off AND you being in range of them. She is a slow M1 killer that has longer chases, making ruin weak on her as everyone else is on gens anyway and often will have enough time to finish before she hooks someone.
Wraith - Mostly same as Hag except his movement speed is faster but still falls victim to loops and long chases. See above.
Legion - Arguably one the worst killers. His “mobility” is hardly useful and he is easily looped as well. See Hag.

@Reborn2020 said:
Nurse,Huntress, Freddy, Hag, Wraith, Oni, Legion. Why would you want to be so killer biased? So basically all the killers. Maybe even Doc. Doc mains can correct me if im wrong.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136947#Comment_1136947
I main huntress at reds (at least when I still played) and consistently 4K before and after the change.
new ruin is literally useless on her. Her low mobility makes the regression on it useless, and you are better off just using Corrupt. The same can be said for any killer lacking mobility, which is why Spirit is able to capitalize on it as she can bounce from gen to gen quickly.

dont open the locker and go after someone else

The map issue directly affects the amount of time a killer has to pressure gens, so in part, that solution is part of the question... When can we start to see the issue being addressed?
I’ve see some of your vids, you and I both know BHVRs tendency to simply use bandaid fixes to issues. Breakable walls being added seems to me a bandaid response to the map issue without addressing it formally. (Note: I hate the idea of simply breaking walls as a “fix”)
Simply look at the balanced nerf; instead of reworking Haddonfield which many have wanted for years now, they nerfed balanced to not be abused. Granted, BL was aids on that map, but haddonfield is still one of the worst maps and it has gone untouched.
Compare it to most Macmillian or Azarov maps. Certain loops aside, they are generally fair for both sides and don’t immediate spell out a loss in the same way Huntress on Temple does.
To answer the topic of “gen speeds,” it’s not as simple as changing the time it takes to finish a gen, you should know that. Compare Temple and Father Campbell’s. Temples massive size leads to gens popping extremely fast, whilst Campbell’s is much smaller and allows for a lot more interaction between survivor and killers. Maps need to be adjusted to be more like the latter and we will see the issue of “gen speed” fade away, at least for the most part.
tl;dr- map design isn’t being addressed and it is being “fixed” via breakable walls
edit: autocorrect
edit 2: added more

You do realize that new Ruin is actually better ?
its better on killers who didn’t even need ruin which is hilarious (spirit, billy)
ita awful on anyone else
as to OP, map design is worse than gen speeds themselves

Who cares

Balanced now being objectively worse than all others
Ruin

You realize your argument is, design the game around a mechanic that is supposed to reward players with a higher skill than the actual mechanic. I've always hated the argument, "git gud, hit greats". Hitting great skill checks isn't the way that mechanic was designed, it was meant to reward those players for getting better not to be the way the game was meant to be played.
assuming your team weren’t potatoes.
Solo survivors have zero control over this, crap when I do play SWF at least one of my four friends will potato all night long.
As to your last statement, its counter productive to your point. Your point being, I was already hitting great skill checks so it didn't really matter, followed by now its just M1 while sleeping. Ruin actually made you hold M1 longer with no reward for hitting great skill checks. Without ruin you get to hold M1 less, even more so if you are always hitting the great skill checks.
Your reward for hitting ruin checks was not regressing and improving your inherent ability to hit skill checks in general. It also added a slight challenge to doing gens outside holding M1. Changing ruin without addressing the reasons why it was so prevalent is pathetic.

The most common survivor perks complained about (DS, Borrowed Time and Unbreakable) have easy ways to counter them probably 80% of the time.
- DS: Literally slug or chase someone else.
- BT: Chase the rescuer
- Unbreakable: Don't slug for more than 30 seconds.
Where as Ruin went one of 3 ways and it really depended and where the totem spawned.
- Was cleansed in the first minute of the game, be completely useless
- Was cleansed within the first 3 minutes of the game, which is I think what the devs wanted out of it
- Lasted so long the survivors stood no chance against it.
Also everyone keeps bringing up the usage factor of Ruin and skipping completely over the other reason the Dev's said they wanted to change ruin. It was simply to strong of a perk combo when combined with Pop. To be fair, until killers made Ruin+Pop a standard, I never really minded ruin before. Basically a percentage of killers found a way to easily secure a 4k every game ruining the experience for the other 4 players in the match.
Or you can, like myself and many others, learn to hit skillchecks
it’s second nature at this point and even combo’d with pop games were still fine, assuming your team weren’t potatos.
now it’s M1 while sleeping
-
The funniest thing to me? The ruin change benefits the top killers the best since their mobility synergizes
-
Nerf keys only if moris are nerfed
both completely ruin the balance of games
-
Only one I cared about was Legion, granted he was actually fun to play but he was literally mindless.

That's not how usage rate works. Those two people using DS doesn't let the other two people stun the killer.
It’s also a bigger population with more viable perks so of course the % will be lower
its just logical
-
Self caring = not a teammate and deserves death
-
If you get upset over someone pressing Control, you gotta sort some things out

Everyone knows games are too fast

If they don't wanna play then they either shouldn't queue up or DC. You shouldn't get a free Dodge with suicides
Its not "free" killers get their BBQ stack and others can still win
you can't force others to play a game
-
I tested on PTB and its fixed finally
-
Make struggle automatic. That way the survivors won't be able to suicide, like they do over and over again, and it will be good for the console players.
I hate this line that people keep regurgitating. You CANNOT force someone to want to play. If they want to leave a match, they will. DC bans are fine, but removing suicide is just ridiculous. At most add the ability to hold a key to struggle, but removing suicide will just make people eat the DC ban.

I agree, but you and i know how they are with map design, they are very late to fixing the terrible design and are so slow at it they added them cause they probably know how slow the changes are coming but need to fix them somehow
Need to fix? How many people complained about Shack of all things? Ruin, sure. Gens, yea. hit boxes, all the time. But Shack?
Adding in somethine that nullifies a loop instead of invsting in an "Operation: Health" like Siege did would do wonders for this game
But instead we get Huntress 2: Electric Boogaloo

If shack is in rotten fields where it's by itself yeah adding a breakable wall to it is uncalled for but if it's like how it can be in Groaning store house where there can be a jungle gym behind it and L wall T wall on the other side I'm not gonna get mad about it bandaid fix be like that....
That's a problem with Map design and RNG
Instead of fixing either of those they add a third element that takes no effort or risk to do and throws out the others
-
Its called Bias
I play both at Reds (at least before I quit) so i generally am more neutral
-
Ruin and Breakable walls show two things:
- Devs prefer to cater to the lower ranks to make it easier for them. My working theory is that this keeps them playing and up the chances they "buy-in" and get cosmetics, thus sunk-cost begins and they are hooked.
- Devs either cannot/do not want to fix core issues such as map design and thus use band-aid fixes to get around this. (Band-aids are already common in this game, but breaking walls takes it a step further.
As to what's next? Probably the Meta perks like Adrenaline maybe? Whatever the masses complain about or what the higher ranks use that works.
-
I don't think either need to be changed
then again, I can actually learn how to play games instead of asking Devs to make it easier for me
