  • They get beat by two man SWF groups and view all survivors as sabo squads, as well as viewing the devs as some heartless monsters who only seek to make their lives hell.

basically like any game when 1 side loses

Congrats! You have discovered what many of us have been saying for a while. Spine Chill is very strong against Spirit. Not to put you down, just making the point that many people would rather sit and say "YoU cAn'T oUtPlAy A sPiRiT" when at least 2 non-meta perks are SUPER effective against her.

"I just always run iron will"

"those who bring stridor are gross tho"

Are you serious with this? Stridor IS the counter to Iron Will. It's literally the entire reason I run it on Spirit, to beat those survivors using Iron Will. You don't need it for all the other survivors, you need it for ONLY the ones with Iron Will.

"its amazing how many spirits are clueless monkeys against it."

Do you even play Spirit? Because if you did against high rank survivors using Iron Will I would bet they give you the run around. Because Iron Will makes it insanely difficult to track survivors in phase, unless they are potatoes and run constantly or walk through grass. But get a not-stupid survivor with Iron Will and you will see why Stridor is so important.

If you really can't see it, let me put it another way...

"I just always tunnel survivors off a hook."

"it's amazing how many survivors just let me catch them when I'm right there when they get saved."

"Those that bring DS are gross tho, I don't use it as survivor out of principle."

Not that I actually believe this, just making a point of how absurd these kinds of statements are.

Yes, I used her to get a free carry to red rank, she is by far the easiest killer to play

IW and Spine Chill are the only perks that are truly solid vs her, using a perk to make her mindless gameplay easier is pretty lame, hence why I don’t use it; it’s a crutch.

idk why I’m arguing this, if people are proud of running stridor on her then they were probably never good to begin with

  • I just always run iron will

its amazing how many spirits are clueless monkeys against it.

those who bring stridor are gross tho, I don’t use it on her out of principle

  • Conversely, the easiest way to get Rank 1 as survivor is to do the following assuming you are not a potato:

Do 1.5 worth of gen progress, less with totem cleanses to make up for it

    2 Hook saves

    Run the killer for 1-2min

    done

having an equally skillful friend to cheese the system more makes it extremely easy to rank, but doing the above even solo is quick

  • it should be based on distance

people who disagree just want muh ohpee toxic survivors to be weaker

    its just consistent game design

  • thread #400 today on gen speeds

its map design thats the issue

Huntress, or really any ranged-attack killer suffers from contrasting weakness when it comes to map design.

A LOT of killers benefit more from smaller areas with lots of blind spots in between (unless they have god windows, etc.)

Huntress is the exact opposite. She is HURT by smaller areas and helped by large, open areas where nobody can hide... Killer or Survivor.

    uh, no

large maps are where she suffers, rotten fields, temple etc

her slow movement speed is horrible when on them

  • play huntress on about 60% of the maps

it really shows how poorly designed they are

  • SWF isnt the big issue

its a combo of RNG tile placements and poor map design

  • He's a a Legion-Huntress hybrid

thats not a good thing in terms of power

So do i but that results in quite a few 0 k's because of hook raotation and the speed of gens these days. Getting corn maps in the last 3 out of 4 games did nto help either. Neither did the fact that in all those games i had swf using coms. I asked.

I have WoW in the background beckoning me. Time to go i guess.

I always play as fair as possible

still usually 3-4k, i dont rely on playing cheap as an alternative to improving skill

Just wish the devs would get serious about balance and stop tip toeing around the issue.

but how else will those satan worshipping Survivor players learn their lesson!!!!

seriously, if people are against a fair and balanced multiplayer game, then idk what to say

  • only issue I have is you cannot mend in tier 3

they say it’s to add some interaction or whatev, but in practice it’s just makes for annoying and poor game design

  • It’s map design that’s the problem

how is this still a contested issue

Aww someone who assumes what others do and dont do.

I rotate every killer (except nurse), and get ######### maps too.

Oni or hillbilly on The Game and Lerys? Absolute #########. But I play it.

Meyers or Clown at the Farm? Hell, but I play it.

If you only play in optimal circumstances, how will you ever learn to get better instead of just maintaining?

There is no “learning” her on Lerys

there is hoping that the survivors are pototos, there is nothing you can do except hold W as they can bank a corner every second

but nice try telling me how to play this game

Ah, someone who doesn’t play huntress

Ive mained her for years. I urge you to play her at red ranks on any of those maps

you will want to off yourself after it

  • yes

huntress on Temple, Haddonfield, lerys, the game, Hawkins, rotten fields

id rather have a dc ban than to suffer trying to play as her on a garbage map

No one is telling you not to do gens, they’re simply saying if you are sooo good then do totems too. If you and your team can loop at all it gives you plenty of time to do gens and totems to prevent NOED.

People who get salty about NOED are literally mad they can’t just hold M1 for 80 seconds a few times and escape, it means you or someone on your team had to have some chi side skill, the horror

    @TWiXT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1138078#Comment_1138078

"NOED doesn't reward killers for playing poorly, it rewards killers for survivors laziness."

    The hard Facts:

There are 5 totems in each map, and each totem takes 12 seconds to cleanse making the total cleansing time for 1 survivor 60 seconds of the match. What's more, the totems reward 1k-1.5k in BP for cleansing, the majority of maps make their whereabouts easy to spot, survivors have multiple perks and tools that will reveal totem locations/incentivize them to cleanse totems, and there are 4 survivors that can cleanse a totem at any given time making the hunt for totems much less time consuming than the max possible 60 seconds.

So with all of this working against NOED, why does it ever get a chance to activate in so many games that survivor mains come to the forums almost daily to blast the devs with complaints about it?

Answer: Survivors are too lazy to be bothered with "Doing Bones."

They'd rather focus on the core objective instead of taking a few seconds off of it to prevent a killers perk that has the potential to wipe them all out in the last 2 minutes of the game. It's so easy to prevent, and yet its still public enemy No.1 to all survivors because of how effective it is when it gets to activate, and in truth, if it activates they only have themselves to blame. The average Trial lasts for 10 mins, and they can't afford to spend 12-24 seconds each to ensure a stronger chance of escaping? I'm not really sorry to say this but, survivors... you reap what you sow. The only time NOED was Ever a "Crutch" was when it wasn't a Hex Perk and thus uncounterable at all back in 2016-mid 2017.

So Survivors, Please stop coming to the forums all butt-hurt and demanding nerfs to NOED because you and your team were just too damn lazy.

Its a crutch, saying otherwise is objectively wrong, comparing BT or DS to Noed is also incorrect as both are designed against tunneling and camping. As to "just do bones 4head" i never said anything about not doing them. I play both sides at red and never have needed Noed to compensate for anything.

also its interesting how quick killers are to defend Noed yet cry out for changes to evil survivor perks like BT, DS etc. but if I'm on the other side im an "entitled lazy survivor main" kinda interesting to see.

*a perk that activates at the endgame and is used to make up for a killer who didn't stop gen progress*

*a perk that activates because a survivor was camped/tunneled*

    lmao

  • I mean i will still DC as huntress on a garbage map

a DC penalty is worth not wasting my time

  • if you want the "best" get Spirit

Oni and Deathslinger are much weaker

  • or maybe you missed?

  • asking why people tbag is like asking why the wind blows

its just part of the game, dont take it seriously lol

  • Knowing these forums, I can't tell if this is ironic or not

Not often, but in any case, you're arguing with someone who feels the same as you. I don't think the locker by itself is the problem, it's the fact that it stays active even after you start working on generators. I have no issue with it activating when you grab someone from a locker, personally.

My point isn't being aimed at you directly, but as a general counter to the idea of nerfing DS this way

as to it being used while working on a gen, its still in the end a 1-off perk that will by you a few seconds if you decide to waste it that way

yes because, NotQueen bring it on the point and im tired to read everytime the noed complain treads

just because someone says something doesn't mean we can't disagree

I disagree with many things the devs say/do, i still voice my opinion on how I feel the game should be

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1138101#Comment_1138101

I would agree with you. The abusive part would more so be if they were work on a generator, then hop in a locker any time you came close. At that point you're forced to take the stun or allow them to work on the generator unopposed. Though I would argue that the locker isn't the problem there.

How often does that happen? 80% of the time I don’t even get to use DS as most killers play around that and BT. Not to mention DS is 60sec which is not long at all, Scott’s mission for Locker DS into Head on into flashlight is as extreme as it can be and even that is a very difficult thing to achieve. Changing one method of forcing a DS stun based on extreme examples seems illogical.

if anything has to be changed with DS then imo it should be if you hook a second person then it deactivates if they are not downed. at that point you aren’t tunneling.

  • @Peanits said:

We are looking into the potentially more abusive aspects and seeing what we can do, but nothing is confirmed yet.

I’m curious as to how hopping into a locker to make a DS play is abusive since it’s not forcing the killer to do anything

Oh my god, "I bought the game and can do whatever I want there" mentality. You're playing with real people, not bots. What do you expect to hear from me? "Okay, go, teabag, that's so funny, the killer is on their last nerve, come on, do it, they'll DC soon, ha-ha, click your flashlight, oh goood, they can't do a thing, lmao. Show off and jump in and out of a locker right in front of them! The killer will be feeling worse by the end of a match but still, do it do it do it! Don't forget to teabag near the exit gates! Wow, I'm having so much fun, I don't care about the killer, their mood and experience! It's all about you because you paid $$$."

Sorry but your position isn't really healthy. If you choose to annoy a low skilled killer, who is already frustrated, just because it's fun, I can no longer discuss this topic with you.

Also, I thought growing up supposed to mean that you're mature enough to understand how other people feel and that you should respect each individual if they do nothing wrong. But you do you, I guess.

Who are you to tell other people how to enjoy a game? So long as they are not cheating or being overtly offensive, then you have no authority to tell people how they should play a game that they bought.

People always want to let everyone that they are "right" even when it comes off as arrogance.

  • @WRussoW said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1137574#Comment_1137574

It's not the case. This game isn't just a "horror survival" thing, it's competitive in it's own way. When you teabag, you say to a killer "your skill level is low, all your wasted time was for nothing, you're bad at this game, suck it up, loser". I know that watching specific youtubers who bully rank 20 killers is... funny?.. but, please, try to be more kind towards other players. We all know that teabagging isn't just a "look, ha-ha, funny buttdance!" thing, it's been recognized as a toxic move since 2016 here. And you know it. Or you're just new and came here after watching funny montages.

I played Halo 3, MW2, Retail and Classic WoW

Tbagging in dbd is nothing compared to the toxicity of those games

if I Tbag you when I looped you 4 gens, at that point I’m probably confident you are below my skill level and if I choose to show it through clicking or tbagging, then I also expect you to wanna kill me

its part of the game and makes playing survivor fun, grow up

  • @Dehitay said:

Gen Speed Balancing: Whenever a generator is finished, a feed back loop will surge through the map that causes all other generators with progress to lose half their current progress. This will force survivors to choose between teaming up on the same gen which makes them easier to find and guard the gen, or continuing to work on different gens at a much slower pace that previously.

Tunneling Balance: After being unhooked, if the same survivor is downed again and rehooked within 60 seconds of getting off the hook before any other survivors have been hooked, then instead of going straight to the next hook stage, the survivor will just go to the percentage they were at when they got unhooked. This stops killers from being able to race survivors out of the map for a huge advantage, but still allows them to hook for points if they can't get another survivor and the unhooked is the only one they can get.

Camping Counterplay: 5 seconds after hooking a survivor, the killer's aura will be revealed to survivors when they are within 12 meters of the hook and no unhooked survivors are within 16 meters of the hook. If any generators are completed while the killer's aura is visible, hook progress for that hook will be paused for 20 seconds. Kindred will be reworked to where instead of revealing the killer's aura, the hooked survivor gets 25/30/35% of the objective bloodpoints that other survivors working on gens are earning in addition to the survivor aura reveal.

Reducing Excessively Long Chases. Upon gaining bloodlust, a killer can break an upright pallet with a 3 second animation instead of the standard 2 seconds, but all bloodlust will be reset. This should put an end to excessively long loop chaining but give survivors more distance in exchange. Because bloodlust is lost upon a chase ending, only pallets in the vicinity of a chase will be targetable.

Changes to help deal with disconnects: The husk system will be enabled meaning that once a survivor disconnects, they will not instantly drop dead. For up to a minute after disconnecting, other players in the match will still be able to interact with the disconnected player's character to gain stacks and bloodpoints before they die. In addition, to help alleviate some of the frustration that comes with a player disconnecting in a match, all players that weren't in a premade group with the disconnecting player(s) will get 2000 bloodpoints in all 4 categories for each player that disconnects and be exempt from depipping.

Ebony Mori Rework: Ebony Mori will be given the functionality of Cypress and Ivory meaning they can kill one survivor by hand after a single hook and they can kill the final survivor by hand. However, in order to kill the other 2 survivors by hand, they will have to hook them twice first.

Survive With Friends Balancing: Only one of each item type will be allowed per SWF group (only one medkit, only one toolbox, only one flashlight, only one map, only one firecracker, only one key). In order to enforce this, SWF groups will only be allowed to ready up if all survivors have a unique item type for the group and they will not be allowed to switch items or characters in the match lobby.

    Perk Changes:

    • No Mither - In addition to current usage, all bloodpoint gains are doubled
    • Small Game - In addition to current use, perk now displays a counter of how many totems are left in the trial
    • We're Gonna Live Forever - Stacks can now also be gained by healing another survivor for a health state. In addition, taking a protection hit reveals the killer's aura to all survivors for 4/5/6 seconds.
    • Monstrous Shrine - In addition to current use, doubles all sacrifice bloodpoint gains
    • Spies from the Shadow - cooldown removed
    • Spirit Fury - if another pallet breaks on your head within 5 seconds of Spirit Fury triggering, that pallet also gets destroyed by Spirit Fury (being able to go straight to another pallet right next to the first can't have been an intentional possibility for this perk)
    • Thrilling Tremors - cooldown removed

I’ll read through this since I’m bored and go through each point.

Gen Speed: No. Gen speeds should not be changed, it’s an issue that’s a result of the poor map design. Compare Haddonfield to Father Campbell’s and it’s like night and day. Maps need to be smaller and designed with killer-survivor interactions instead of gargantuan maps that allow gens to pop before anyone is found.

Tunneling: Interesting idea, would need to see how it works in game.

Hook Idea: Built-in Kindred has been an idea that’s been thrown around for awhile but devs have stated it’s not on the table, which is a shame since it would make solo play much better.

Bloodlust Idea: NO NO NO. Bloodlust is already an awful mechanic that rewards poor play, further rewarding killers for survivors playing well would be a terrible idea and would just lead to killers holding W even more to break delete strong pallets.

Husks: Meh, I don’t care either way but I’m sure it would cause bigs and crashes knowing this game.

Moris: I’m fine with just deleting moris and keys from the game entirely, they are awful for game balance.

SWF: People seem to think SWF is some boogeyman that comes to ruin games. Really it’s just people who all happen to understand how to play and make the most efficient plays. Punishing these players will drive them away and lower play base.

No Mither: adding a BP bonus would be nice.

Small game: Sure, counter should be base kit for all but this is fine.

WGLF: I’ll take anything to make it more in line with BBQ

    Monstrous Shrine: Sure

    Spies: Sure

Spirit Fury: SF is already very strong especially with Enduring, no buff needed.

    Tremors: Sure

btw I play both sides at red so Im more neutral than most will be
