The "Starting Phase" of the game was completely eradicated after the Ruin nerf.
NOED offers great End Game pressure, if survivors allow it.
-
Devs don't like seeing
"Update" and "Nurse" in the same sentence, so they'll just ignore all her bugs in the meantime.

First off, before saying anything else, I want to state that I personally do not think DS needs or change. That being said, here's how I would do it. Decisive strike would have a base duration of 10 seconds and start with 5 tokens. Each token adds 10 seconds of duration to the perk. Every time a generator is completed, decisive strike loses 1 token.
Its duration would be as follows:
5gens: 60s
4gens: 50s
3gens: 40s
2gens: 30s
1gen: 20s
Gates powered: 10s
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT, this duration will NOT continue to expire while on the floor (being slugged).
Tunneling in this game is a real issue so DS will never be removed nor should it be. This rework would combat the most annoying aspects for both sides. No one likes getting slugged for a min and no killer likes getting 59s dsed. This would make it a much less powerful perk as the game progresses while still combating the core tunneling issue.
I am going to say one last time, I don't think it needs to be changed. Just proposing one way it could be. Thoughts?
What we need, are more REAL anti-tunneling perks that would avoid players from using DS.
Try thinking of more perks, rather than trying to nerf our only Perk that helps us out against tunneling killers.
Thanks.
-
DS was already changed, and it's fine the way it is.
Edit: So my 1 Time use Perk is useless at end game when I've done well and avoiding getting hooked and done my objectives. I lose out on my 4th perk. Not cool.
-
When I solo queue, everyone even the killer is Red Rank.
When I SWF with Red Ranks, killer is always Purple or Green Rank.
When I SWF with Purple or Green Ranks, we always either get Green or Brown Ranks.
Red+Red queues doesn't = Red Rank Killer.
Red Solo Queue = Everyone is Red Ranks.
In my current experience.

Mori's should just require all gens to be done to use them.
Keys should just require all gens to be done to use them, too.
Cypress should be base kit, and let you Mori the last survivor regardless of how many gens are done. You down the last survivor, he's yours to kill.
Keys already do that.
All gens are powered when the killer closes the Hatch.
So technically, all gens are done and the survivor can use the key.

I visit the TTV to see what Rank they are.
Most of the time they're Brown ranks, very rare I see a Red Rank.
Then I obviously close the window.

In that Scott Jund video i posted in the other thread you said slug them, i said you can't because adrenaline, then you just kinda ignored it.
Slugging was his only option.
I didn't ignore it, but you also can't pick up 2 survivors when you know damn well they were just unhooked and then followed it up with a complain that you got hit by DS.
And if they already reached the end game, then oh damn well. That's his L.

thing is survivor already easy mode and DS shouldn't be active on more then one person at a time.i don't use ds and i get on just fine don't say i don't die sometimes but i get out 3 out of 5 match which i think is good.
btw with 4 survivors with DS not a 5 second stun more like a 20 second stun one for each survivor with in egc really sucks with why i eat ds before egc doesn't make it less of a pain.
I've never seen a killer get stunned 4 times.
EVER in my 4k+ hours of playing. Not even me, Pre-Nurse.
Please, don't give me situations that literally never happen.
EVER.

Can't do that while i'm focused on chasing the other survivor (survivor A)
And it would be ridicolous to expect killers to set up a timer for every survivor they hooked, right?
lol you do know people have actual TIMERS for people who were just recently unhooked right?
As a killer, I keep timers on EVERYONE and I know who was just unhooked, who was slugged, who needs to be slugged.
Are you serious?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94oH_F3p4OQThis is me, yesterday. IF you want to watch it, go ahead but go ahead and skip.
I slugged, I kept timers, because there's an obsession and I didn't get hit with DS.
DS changes the dynamic in the game and you have to be more aware when there's an obsession. Every killer that doesn't complain about DS know what to do, it's why we defend it. The survivor is basically running 3 perks the entire match.
YOU allow them to use their 4th.

you haver no idea how easy it is for killer sometime to down and hook 3 to 4 survivor under 60 sec which means (wait for it)they all have DS active some what a killer to do?
they all can jump into lockers
funny no one defending ds has said nothing.
lockers thing need to go away/sluging all 4 for 60 sec what thre fun in that?
Okay, that's awesome!
But why would any killer complain about a 5 second stun when let's say, they can down EVERYONE in less than 60 seconds.
Why would a killer that good worry about a 5 second stun? If a killer was that good, then he wouldn't be complaining about a 5 second stun!
I doubt a killer THAT good, wouldn't be complaining. Jesus....
If a killer really complains about a stun when he's that good then he is severely entitled.

Holy ######### there’s a thread about DS with 50+ comments every other ######### day. I don’t feel like going on some kind of tangent but here’s my problem with the perk. Using the perk to not get tunneled is completely and absolutely fine. The problem comes with the fact that the survivor has 60 seconds of immunity which they can use to do objectives. This means you could completely not tunnel someone and they could still have immunity and use that immunity to work on an important generator. And if they have a locker nearby the generator there’s next to nothing the killer can do about it. Here would be my suggested changes, if there are any major flaws you see in them feel free to point them out.
”If either another player is hooked or you begin working on an objective (Gen, totem, exit gate, etc...) for 5 seconds DS deactivates.”
You could also throw in the fact that the player who gets hooked has to be a certain amount of time after you got unhooked to fight against trading to deactivate DS. I personally just dislike when survivors use DS like cheeky ######### and do generators right in front of my face because they know they’re immune. I’d like to preference that I also believe that NOED is a bullshit perk that needs a similar rework.
I admire your restraint but they're not immune.
Slug them, a slugged survivor is as useless as one on hook.

Yeah, I don't understand what happened to the patch that was suppose to have Red Ranks with Red Ranks, Purple with Purple and so on.

This is also turning away many killer mains. This sucks and I'm sorry the killer community has to go through this. =/

I can see Killers are taken for being Killers but what makes it choose specific survivors?
For example, Meg. She's an athlete who has been caring for her sick mother. What about her life cursed her to join the campfire? Is it just random people it takes..or something further?
I believe Meg didn't want that life. It was sadly given to her.
Claudette to me, she wanted knowledge.
Dwight wanted something different, anything really.
Jake as well, he wanted to be freed from all burden from his family.
Jane, she's deeply depressed and I'm sure she wanted out.
David wanted a challenge.
My theories.

Dude, just give up. This entire topic has become a circle jerk and NOTHING you say will ever do anything but give them another chance to talk more.
Just walk away and ignore them. The majority already knows that DS is too strong doe to making all Survivors safer than they should be. Doesn't even have to be DS itself, just there being an obsession in the game forces all Killers to second guess themselves as it is impossible to know who has DS until you eat it or seen in post game. Gets worse if the Killer himself is running an obsession perk.
But like I said. NOTHING said here will do anything but prolong the circle jerk. Just ignore and move on to another topic and let this one die.
Because we've provided scenarios and valid options and strategies on how to counter DS but killers are either impulsive, impatient and whiny when they get hit with DS.
They're not adapting and they're not learning the proper counters to DS, so they come to the forums, yell at the Devs for a nerf and hope in time the perk will get nerfed to their liking.
DS is a perk that only gets its use unless you let it be used. No one but the killer has control over their mouse and keyboard, no one is forced to open that locker, to pick up that survivor.
ALL those choices are YOURS and yours alone.
Shocker isn't it? So the survivor community along with the killer community (like myself) provide valid options and methods on how to counter DS but killers are so whiny they jump up and down and try to tear down every option we give them and give us these ridiculous scenarios in hopes to turn our opinion.
It baffles me that THIS is what the part of the killer community has been reduced to. As a killer myself, I'm shocked, and appalled at the whiny side of the killer community.

Can’t slug a survivor when they jump in a locker.
Can’t really slug a survivor either when you’re at the last gen and you know it’s gonna pop soon.
Can’t slug them when you’re in the endgame.
Can’t slug them when you’re facing one of those SWF and you know one of them probably has unbreakable.
I’m not going to slug a survivor either when I don’t expect the timer to be still up. For example when I chased the unhooker, put them on a hook and then find this other guy...
While slugging indeed makes that survivor useless, the fact remains it could have been a hook. In the end it’s hooking that brings the killer closer to their objective unless you’re actually running a slugging build.
If a survivor has a 1 time use perk that hasn't used it, it's now endgame and the gates are opened and you get D-Struck? Then I'm sorry man, count your losses and move on. You can't win every game.
Why can't you slug during end-game? Are they too close to a door? You know a full minute crawling doesn't get a survivor far? I can record this and show you if you'd like, they don't make it far.
If you find the guy that was unhooked, you've hooked another survivor, then either slug the guy or eat the DS. If you're so good at chases that you ended 2 chases in less than 60 seconds then that tells me a 5 second stun isn't going to affect you at all.
You gave me a scenario, in which you've ended a chase, hooked a survivor, found another survivor and ended that chase ALL in less than 60 seconds tells me that you're good. A 5 second stun isn't going to do anything to you. Why complain about this if you're ending 2 chases and taking them to hook in less than 60 seconds.

People just don't want to use their noggin. I look at ds as a mind game its fun to play around tbh im not normally in a position to be struck tho,
Same, typically at least 2 to 3 people are left slugged at some point while 3 or 4 gens are still needed to be done.
I'm not GREAT at the game, but I know when slugging is a viable option and you can tell who has DS and who doesn't.
A DS user isn't afraid of the killer and will do almost anything in their power to grab your attention and have you get struck.
Killers are so impatient sometimes.

You’re not getting the point of what I’m saying. DS allows to be completely safe when doing gens or anything else really. If they sit on a gen and make it to a locker, I’m just supposed to let them go, even though they’re just going to be sitting at that very same gen seconds later.
Sometimes when you return to the hook and this survivor is the only one you see, what are you supposed to do? Let them go?
A slugged survivor is as useless as one on the hook.
Someone has to come pick them up and you can camp the body if you so choose to, they're not invincible.
My God, I deal with players like these every day and I don't find an issue with it.

This is 100. If you create enough pressure Ds means jack diddly. I stream every night and play mostly killer. Well recently half and half but ive gone against it all and ds never bothered me even before the change. and before the change ds was stronger. they literally altered it to be played around. People seem to forget the old ds you know the one where you had to juggle a survivor and waste a eff ton of time getting them to a hook or even the wiggle ds. come on people ADAPT learn to counter it seriously.
There are actual people on this forum that prefer old DS.
Where there was literally no counter to the 3 other DS that weren't the obsession. It baffles me.

@Nameless said:
DS isn’t fine. If you have to let a survivor go because they jump in a locker then it’s stupid and broken. The only counter to it is to leave them and any survivor with a brain is going to do a gen after you left them.
The idea alone that a survivor feels safe doing a gen in the killers face because they got an invincibility perk is imo wrong. They got arrogant and made a mistake but the killer can’t punish them for it because they got a full minute of invincibility.
We’re talking about a full minute here, that’s about 1/10 of the game (average). DS is also a perk you can use after each unhook until you actually use it. Imagine having 4 survivors with DS which really isn’t even stretching reality atm and you’re a decent killer that over the course of the game hooks multiple survivors several times. This means that the killer will constantly need to play around DS and there’s almost always going to be one survivor with 60 seconds of invincibility. As a killer you’re literally getting punished for performing well. How can this possibly fall under the definition of healthy gameplay.
"DS isn’t fine. If you have to let a survivor go because they jump in a locker then it’s stupid and broken. The only counter to it is to leave them and any survivor with a brain is going to do a gen after you left them."
Why are you targeting THIS survivor?
Typically there are 4 survivors that spawn in 1 match, so there are 3 other survivors out there buddy. A GOOD killer typically targets the unhooker, the survivor isn't forcing you to open that locker. NO ONE forces you to open that locker OR target this survivor.
That's YOUR mistake.

If you know there's an obsession and you're not running obsession perks, someone has DS and that's when your gameplay changes and you have to be more aware during the match. No one forces you to pick a survivor up when they've been recently unhooked, no one forces you to open that locker when they jump in it. Simple go for the unhooker if you were camping the hook.

Here comes the "just leave them for 60 seconds" argument that isn't valid lol. If you played killer at red ranks you would know that leaving someone for 60 seconds will guarantee a loss. DS is a problem and the devs have said they are working on changes too DS because of how problematic it is. it's been almost a year since they've said this but they are working on it, so clearly it is a problem whether you see it or not lol.
I am a Red Rank killer and Red Rank survivor.
And no, you don't leave them for 60 seconds, you slug and leave them for 60 seconds. They're not invincible, slugging is a great strategy. Killers slug all the time at 1 gen, so ######### is the issue of slugging a survivor when they're so phobic about getting a 5 second stun.
