Not enough killers, I'm a killer main and I haven't played the game in a while.
There's no incentive to play killers. Killers are needed and we're punished rather than incentivized to play killer.
-
Because for some reason BHVR doesn't code survivors to start away from gens instead of on top of them.
Imagine if killer spawned next to 1 survivor each trial.

No stuttering at 450 ping? Lol what a laugh
The proof is there, look at the hits. It's all there.
Hit Validation does not exist. I provided proof, and the fact that you're not believing it is more of a "you" problem than mine.

Everyone says she has a high skill ceiling and that's the reason why she has such a low kill rate.
BUT, she always was the hardest killer to learn. People spend easily 250+ hours to master her. She was THE killer that filtered out bad survivors on red ranks.
And now? All the people that spend so many hours on her suddenly lost interest in adapting to her changes?
Nah, she has a low kill rate, because she's just a shadow of her former self. Even without all the bugs that she suffers from.
100%.

Now I call bs, at 450 ping you wouldn't be able to even pull Hatchets
The video says it all.
And it was 450 Ping. You're telling me those hits were legit? I was the killer and I knew they weren't.

I was at this point at once, then I tried Huntress.
They're both fun.

Two hook Mori? That’s bullshit. What’s the point? They would be dead on 3rd hook anyway? Killers already had the disadvantage in vaulting, speed and everything else.
Ive went from a full on 4/4 kill games with merciless killer awards to being lucky to kill one survivor now.
fix your #########
Oh no, you can't camp, and tunnel your way to Rank 1 anymore with an Ebony Mori.
If you needed an overly powerful offering to make your way up the ranks then the game just got even better for killers who actually put skill and effort into their wins.
How sad.

Maybe they're friends?
You can't just pluck a purple rank out of thin air and queue up with them. That's not how it works.

To my understanding it only matters if someone as high ping. If the survivor has for example 60ms and the killer has 75ms then that isnt a big enough of a ping difference to affect the hit. Cause of course someone will always have a higher or lower ping then someone by nature
I had 450 Ping.
By their logic, I shouldn't have been getting these hits.
This was yesterday. Please, enjoy. Rank 3.

so you don't like the hit boxes, you don't like making sure the forums stay on topic. i think you should take a step back. if they wish to move the my 8 basement hook challenge didn't get progress from discussion (general) to bug fixes that's what they are there to do! lol it's all a conspiracy to you, you might want to check that attitude at the door and step back because you are never thinking properly when talking about conspiracies! (and so you know saying they sweep it under the rug is a conspiracy, please move on then).
It's not a conspiracy.
It doesn't work. There's not hidden agenda behind it, it's not working. That's it.
If anyone tries to convince me that hit validation is working, it won't work because I can VPN to the UK, or Norway and prove them wrong.
Any VPN killer should not be receiving the hits they currently are, because the "server" steps in and makes sure the killer doesn't get the hit.
It's. Not. Working. And that's it.
-
@Freki said:

you did not read my response. what the hit validation does is compare positions when the hit was calculated. if your position is in an area where that hit should never have happened when the game says you were hit (server side) then it does not down you and the killer does not see the hit. this happens in nanoseconds so you can't say when the decision is made. I said that it looks to see if the hit would have been there and they have had issues with hit validation and ranged weapons (deathslinger AND huntress as well as ONI now) so there is a great deal of things happening and you said the key term "BETA" this means it is not complete and may not be 100% accurate well less accurate than it will be with no beta.
And now they're brushing the conversations under the rug by moving it to Feedback and Suggestions.
Great.

no you never asked this question and the answer is POSSIBLY. it is not an exact science, as it could be that you are seeing something that the server already knows to be out of date (several milliseconds old) and thus you can't get the hit, could also be you have the worst aim ever (I know I am craptastic with her hatchets but sometimes i'm on target)! lots of potential questions in your thoughts here but it all depends on where you are connected, forinstance if your ping is 30ms (snapshot as ping never stays the same from millisecond to millisecond) and theirs is 250, more than likely they are going to perceive you getting hits that you should never have but revers it and it might end up being that you get no hits. your assertion doesn't take into account the reality of computer communication and how the internet really works.
But that's not what they stated.
"This is what the Hit Validation Beta intends to fix: In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair."
I have a 100% estimation of BAD CONNECTION to the server, their words. None of the hits I make are fair.
Hit Validation does not exist.

@Freki said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1823690#Comment_1823690
Do you want to understand why you are wrong? here:
from your point of view, you are around the corner but from the killer's computer you have yet to round it OR part of your hitbox is still not around the corner, the killer's client transmits a LEGAL hit to the server and then the server compares your position to the hit and determines you WERE in that position when the killer threw and the game calculated the hit. you go down even around the corner. it is simple as that. the servers have the data from the whole game and can look at time codes and see the data and blamo you get hit or you are absolved and not dead. but once the server determines you were down you go down no matter WHERE you are (you could be all the way across the map and if the time codes where you were when the killer's computer say you get hit then you are DOWN.
Simple as that, your perspective is not what rules the game, nor is the killer's however the killer's client does send the hit notification to the server. Your client has no part in this other than reporting your location during that chase. this is why you are wrong and will always be wrong, it WAS worse in the point to point because the killer's internet did not always have the right stability and caused issues because of latency and many other things.
I'll ask the above question since he hasn't answered it.
Yes or no.
If I live in Los Angeles, and I'm paired up with 4 survivors from Norway, their location, I should not get as many hits as I should because my connection is running on about 250 Ping, correct? I'm on Norway servers, from Los Angeles. Oui ou non?
-
Perfect, thank you buddy.

I meant, who's quote is this?
"In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair. If it is determined that the hit only landed due to the Killers weak connection (I.e. The Killer and the Survivor were too far away for the hit to land), the hit is rejected, and the Survivor does not take any damage. In simple terms, the player with a poor connection is at a disadvantage, no matter which side they are playing."

No, but it should eliminate all hits from a VPN user, someone with bad ping, bad connection, someone from another country posing as someone from your current country.

I personally don't think that my 65/63ms ping in this situation was the worse connection between myself and the killer, therefore the hits shouldn't have been granted.

Only thing I can say is you don't know what the killer ping was. Without that info there's not much to go on to blame for the hit.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if the hit validation just doesn't work🤷
They cleared stated that's not how it works anymore.
They have stated that whoever has the better connection to the server will have the better "hit" or no hit.
This should render high ping and VPN users completely null and void from getting hits.

No you are wrong, the killers are milliseconds behind the survivors visually as it takes how ever long to transmit from the survivor's computer to the server then to the killer's computer. usually 60+ milliseconds I've guessed at times. This is why the killers get hits off at times the survivor thinks they are safe and shouldn't be hit. same in the other direction too, so lots of possibilities and it's not the hit boxes that are at issue for this.

Not their fault that a killer goes in to "desperation" mode and NEEDS to start tunneling.
Is it really their fault a killer needs to start tunneling? Are there areas the killer can start improving on before going on full tunnel mode because he's losing the game?

No I just usually think you are one sided with your arguments such as people on both sides not complaining about a change like this if it was made (that doesn't mean everyone it means that people from both will complain)
People from both sides complain about everything anyway its closed minded to think that only one side would complain about this, and not both
No...not one sided.
Just don't touch DS, and that's it. I learned to deal with it, my buddies learn how to deal with it, everyone learns how to deal with it. I'm just on the other side of the spectrum, I have my own thoughts about it. I don't post "here's why ds is bad kekw upvote me" because I learned to deal with it. It's a Meta perk for a reason and it has its own counters.
I also believe NOED is fine, even though I dislike it when it's used against me, it's perfectly fine.
So if that makes me "one sided" lol because of ONE perk that I defend, then so be it.
I just find it hilarious how some of you killers can't comprehend that we're not on the same wavelength, that we're all alike.
We're not.

No, Survivors will still complain that
- It doesn't stun long enough
- They already used their unbreakable when the killer slugged them last time
- They only get to use it once as a free invincibility shield for 50 seconds of gens then hop into a locker for a free stun because the killer thought it ended
Oh yeah, because the survivor complaints outweigh the killer whining.

- It still works End Game.

Punishing a bad unhook creates a ton of pressure. DS+UB makes it so you cannot punish the survivor for a whole minute. No matter what. All that the perk combo serves to do is guarantee an escape for bad survivors.
If you're punishing a bad hook, why aren't you going for the unhooker?
I'm baffled by the logic.

Unless they changed the text, I'm sure you're wrong.
The hex undying allows you to see survivors within totem range.
The secondary ability (hex swapping) is not a hex, but a perk.
I may be wrong because I haven't played in 2 days...
You are 100% wrong.
Undying grants the Hex that any OTHER Hex will transfer. If Undying gets cleansed, the effect is gone.
Again, if Undying gets cleansed first, then Ruin is found, they are both gone. They will not come back.

You think that if it did (DS only active for the most recently unhooked survivor), the complaints would vanish only for new complaints to crop up?
No, and here are 2 reasons why.
- The devs know not to upset 80% of their playerbase, which is why the perk hasn't been touched since its rework. It just will not get touched. Period.
- Any "rework" that still grants a survivor an escape from the killer's grasp will always be a topic of complaint. I know the whiny side of the killer community and nothing will ever be good enough. If DS does get reworked how everyone wants it to be they'll complain that they weren't tunneling and still got hit with DS then, they'll complain that it still works in end game, then they'll ask for End Game DS to be nerfed. etc, etc.
Nothing will ever be enough for some killers when they don't get their free tunnel. It's just how it is.
Have you played games as a survivor where no one is running DS? I have, and it's not pretty.
-

Couldn't have said it better myself. Even if you're juggling the whole team fairly and not 'tunneling', I think it is kinda crazy how you can hook a second person, down the first person and still get DS'd.
Because DS is on a 60 second timer, it doesn't magically disappear if you down someone else.

The problem with DS/UB as a combination is that the killer has NO choice but to ignore them on purpose.
That's not counter-play, it's just the only choice the killer has in the situation and it's still terrible. Counter-play would be picking up a UB gamer, or slugging a DS gamer, you have options to counter those perks and still punish the survivor. Ignoring the survivor DS/UB isn't counter-play because its allowing the survivor to walk off and do whatever they want for 1 minute (x2).
DS & UB can give 8 minutes of invulnerability for the survivor team, assuming all the survivors are running it and are unhooked twice. 8 minutes.. that's more than enough time for all five generators to be done by just UB/DS active time alone.
So every survivor (assuming they're good) with DS/UB is practically making it impossible for the killer to win unless they decide to throw the game by camping the slugged player for a minute, picking them up, hooking, and then repeating it until they're dead, but you're losing all map pressure and will only kill one survivor at most.
This is only accounting for DS/UB uptime. It isn't counting how survivors spawn on generators, need to be chased to even be hooked (which even with Nurse, takes 20-30 seconds sometimes) and have two other perks to impact the game (Dead Hard, for example extends chases so much).
That's the problem. DS/UB basically grants the win for the survivors if they play moderately efficient and optimal and even as a Nurse or Spirit, you'll struggle and it was only with 1 hook red mori's did killers have a chance.
Now, it's very rare for all survivors to bring DS/UB in my experience, but even for one or two survivors bringing it.. Still gives them so much time to do generators and get out.
See the problem? Just "ignore them 5head" is literally costing you the game and it's the only thing you can do lol
And my problem with that mentality is....
Why are you concerned with the survivor who was just unhooked? Why are you chasing this one survivor instead of going for the unhooker? Also, my issue is....why are you even around the survivor who was just unhooked? Were you camping the hook? Were you patrolling the hook? Didn't your BBQ show you where other survivors were? Why are you so concerned about this, one, survivor. Why not the rest?
If 1 is dead, then the game is practically yours. If 2 are dead you shouldn't be stressing, and if 3 are dead then just wait out the timer, camp their body until they're forced to use their theoretical Unbreakable.
I don't understand killer's infatuation with going for the unhooked survivor instead of the other 3 on the map. If the unhooked survivor is going for a gen, who cares? So are the other 3, or the other 2 that you aren't going after.

You're not reading undying right.

If Undying is cleansed first, and any Hex totem after, they're all gone.
Nothing transfers if Undying is cleansed first.

Again - you're missing the core issue with it. Even the devs touched on it during the QA stream (which literally makes your narrative incorrect).
The idea that you can be unhooked, and continue your objective (or work a hex totem) while also being invincible is a problem. The idea that you get DS after unhooking yourself, which has no counter if the gate is opened, *is* a problem. If it were ACTUALLY designed to be anti tunnel instead of anti momentum, most killers would have no issue with it.
Don't play all high and mighty if you don't actually have a grasp on the real issues. Thanks.
I will play "high and mighty" because like many others killers on the forums we deal with it the correct way.
Simply go for someone else. That's it. And I don't trust the devs on anything, they've messed up balancing, they've nerfed Coup De Grace ( LOL ) so telling ME, and I've been playing for 3.5 years, that "Even the devs touched on it during the QA stream" is just a laugh, because they've made the poorest of choices over the last months.
Have you ever thought....hm, how do killers deal with these 2 perks?
Or are you the type who believes that complaining hard enough, praying to the devs, that they'll nerf the combination? Because buddy....you must be either new or don't know how the 4v1 works around here.

Agreed about ruin/undying and Spirit being an issue, as well as gen speed. Your DS/Unbreakable statement is incredibly flawed, however. It doesn't take into consideration (or rather, completely ignores) the true issue killers have with it.
I don't face these issues as a Rank 1 killer.
I have no issue with DS+Unbreakable because as shocking as it is to some of the killers on the forums, there are 3 other survivors out there, not just the 1 that was recently unhooked.

I hope not, undying/ruin is the most balanced meta there is. Mostly because the dang perks can be outright removed from the match.
You're right, I've had my Undying Cleansed at the Start, Ruin found right after.
It's the reason I run Pop as my 4th perk.
-
Or tap M1.....slowly.
Recovering doesn't make Crows appear since it's an "Action."
So recover slowly.
-
Ruin+Undying are complaints from survivors who just want to shut brain+M1 and escape.
DS+Unbreakable complaints are from killers who (for some odd reason) simply can't go for the unhooker, or for someone else, or patrol gens, or leave the hook.
Spirit is an issue though.
Gen speeds is an issue.
