You are supposed to toy with the survivors, aka, giving them the possible chance to come back and win, even though they already have 312345312134 second chances. This is disguised by making your goal to make the Entity happy, by tormenting the survivors and feeding the Entity. I personally don't care about pips. I would rather 4k with 4 gens left than give them another second chance to turn the game around and win, but that's me.
-
Doctor is only remotely good vs inexperienced survivors, but all killers are good vs inexperienced survivors. Doctors lacks map pressure, his shock has a delay so making vaults is pretty common and so on. A good Doctor vs 4 good survivors is going to get stomped on 9 out of 10 times. Too many players just rush to call killers overpowered instead of realizing that they are actually not as good as they think they are at survivor.
-
Yeah, solo queue be rough out here.

I didn't triggered nothing, it is a message for anyone who wants to read it, you were lucky enough to be mentioned.
I'm not even crying. the message I'm trying to get across is that the same goes for both ways. but apparently not everyone understands it.
I understand that killer deals with dumb things, but you can't really compare "gens rushing" with a killer that literally downs you at 5 gens and just stands in your face. The survivors have to do the gens to escape without 3 of the 4 dying first. The killer doesn't have to face camp at 5 gens. They could just hook the person and go find another survivor.

Now I can agree that body blocking right away is boring, and it is even worse when survivors gen rush. They don't try to cleanse totems. open chests. they don't let the killer have fun and want to end the game as soon as possible. so the killer feels pressured to face camp to pressure survivors to stop making the generators so fast.
Just as for you it is not fun to be tunneled or face camp for me neither is the gen rush, the body block, SWF, infinite loop.
why I have to stop face camp?, do you think it is fun for the killer to be looped infinitely?
Do you think is fun that after I had a hard time getting the third hook, you guys come to block my way?
if I stop tunneling even if it's the best strategy will you stop looping ?
Will you stop making generators so that I too can have fun?
Of course not.
You will do what you think is better to win and sometimes the killer will also do things that you will not like because it is what it's must do to win, why should it give you opportunities?
Why should I play how the survivors want?
They are not going to play as I would like?
stop crying and everyone plays as they want
Lmao who is crying? Did you have a bad game, so you feel like you have to take your frustration out on others? All I told the person was to get closer to red ranks and a lot of the face camping stops. You might need a break from the game if my post triggered something.
-
Now I can agree that face camping right away is boring, and it is even worse when your teammates don't rush gens and just give the camper more kills, but face camping, at least for me, only really happened in like rank 12+. Once you get closer to red ranks, less killers face camp because face camping at red and purple ranks will depip the killer most of the time.
-
Trust me, every killer is viable to BHVR because they aim to balance around average players. The average survivor player can't loop, or do gens efficiently. You have to throw any thinking of decent survivor players when you think of balance, because they are not in the equation.

Uhh because Australia has everything reversed
For one, I live in NA, and I watch AUS streamers that wait just as long in survivor queues, while also having very quick killer queues.
-
If the community is so killer biased, why is my killer queue instant but I have to wait 5 - 10 mins for a solo survivor game during prime time?

"Just cleanse totems!"
*brings Small Game or a map and cleanses 3-4 totems as a solo*
*Gets downed for the first time and 1 hooked in EGC*
Killers usually sacrifice at least two perk slots for gen slowdown perks. Why shouldn't survivors have to run something so they can 100% counter a perk designed to punish survivors that don't do totems? It isn't the dev's or the killer player's fault that you might be the only one doing totems. Blame your teammates for only wanting to sit on gens, or for wanting to loot chests over doing bones.
-
I don't expect anyone to save me vs a camping Bubba. I will hang for 60 seconds and struggle for the last 60. That is the best counter to a camping Bubba.

Lmao welcome to how us Survivors feel... Killer is at its all time easiest. I can 4K all the way to Red rank within a few days. Killer is easy... I don't get what you guys complain about. Are you that bad??? Survivors already have it bad enough with the hits, and Devs already said it's 6% chance we escape... Them just saying that proves Killer is super easy. Don't weet it wrong, if there is a good SWF it's over for me lol. But good teams are super rare.
Killer is only easy vs bad survivors, or if the survivors don't care to rush the game, plain and simple. If all 4 survivors do gens over healing and rushing hook saves, good luck. With that said, killer is usually very easy vs most survivors because most survivors don't rush gens, they heal and search chests and they also rush hook saves. How can you not see how this could be not very fun for someone with 4.2k hours. Killer is literally smash on the survivors easily, or deal with competent survivors that rush the game as quickly as possible. If you aren't playing a meta build with a meta killer vs the competent survivors that push gens hard, you lose most of the time. The middle ground is not very common. In all honesty, a competent/good killer player really has no "fair" challenge in this game, and that is a major problem. You either 4k most teams, or you get stomped on because the survivors were competent.
-
You have to focus on your own gameplay. You can't rely on 3 random people with varying skill levels. Just do your best to do well on a personal level.

Um, any game is easy against bad players. In this game, if the survivor is bad, the killer will have an easy time, if the killer is bad, the survivors will have the easy time. Killer role is inherently more difficult due to the fact that it's one person against 4.
Yeah, I know.
-
Killer has usually been "easy mode" even before this update. If you are a good killer player, most survivors are easy to 4k. Killer is only difficult vs good runners, and good teams. If more people could loop on survivor, and made better choices, killer wouldn't be so easy.
-
The only game I didn't escape yesterday in my 5 hour solo survivor play session was on Torment Creek vs a Scratched Mirror Myers. My teammates went down in 5 seconds. The Myers literally avoided me until 2 survivors left. Then he slugged the 3rd and I ran him around until she almost bled out. You can win on survivor currently. You just have to play well. Yeah, the hitboxes can be off at times, and I did get downed by the same Myers when he didn't even swing near me, but that was only like the second time that happened the whole 5 hours I was playing survivor.
-
Hexy always wins because for 1, he is a good killer, and 2, most survivors are not very good. His playstyle is to chase survivors and play normally until 3 gens are left. Then he usually proxy camps, slugs, etc. There is nothing wrong with that, but that is how he plays. I know this because I watch him a lot. If he were to go vs a good coordinated competent 4 man that didn't always try to save, and pushed gens hard, he would struggle to win if he were to play a low tier killer. No shade indented by saying this, because he is my favorite DBD streamer, it's just the truth. Sometimes he gets close to losing, like earlier today on Badham, but he was able to recover and get a 3k.
-
I mean, yeah it is dumb that they didn't listen to all the feedback for the new UI and so on, but DBD is their game. They can make any changes they want. If players don't like the changes, they need to show it by not playing. That is the only thing we can do. If the game loses players, BHVR loses $. As long as people keep playing and spending $, they are gonna keep doing whatever they want, or what they think is best for the game.
-
Camping happens. You just have to accept it and move on to your next game. If you can't do that, it will always cause you frustration.
-
I have been playing DBD on and off for 3 years now and two days ago I finally hit 1000 hours. I have watched like 2k+ hours on Twitch, but yeah. This game is fun at times, but it can be very hard to like at times as well. My advice as a solo survivor and killer player is to just try to not take the game too serious. If you get toxic, or low skill teammates, just focus on your play. If you get a good SWF as a low tier killer, just do your best and remember the balance doesn't really take good players into account. Sometimes I even have trouble remembering these things, but it does help when I do. For the bugs, well, there is literally nothing any of us players can do about that.
-
Yeah, ranking up is very easy, especially on survivor. Hopefully the upcoming MMR will help.

not the same. Of course the game is occasionally going to employ changes that improve the experience for one role or both. In the case of ruin, their design philosophy went beyond improving the experience for new players which is an important metric. They were also concerned with the inconsistency of the perk. They wanted to create a more uniform experience. Likewise with Undying, it was never their intention that powerful hex perks would relocate multiple times. They pointed out that it fundamentally changed the game experience to where the focus had to be exclusively on hunting down the totems repeatedly and that was never part of their design goals. My point isn't that DS should never be changed to improve the experience for killers, it's just that these changes are exclusively for the benefit of the killer. there are no improvements from the survivor side of the experience. DS is a remedial perk, according to developers. It's to provide some degree of relief towards being tunneled but of course had some broader uses outside of it. That was a problem and I agree with changes that bring the perk In line with accomplishing its stated goals. The proposed changes are strictly for the benefit of the killer, nothing wrong with that but I think there needs to be some evaluation and balance on the survivor side of the experience as well.
They are the same. Most killer mains didn't wanted Ruin changed, and they don't want Undying changed. I can say the same. No killer perk should ever be changed to make the survivors experience better, but that doesn't change the fact that multiple killer perks have been changed due to the survivors experience. The Ruin change and Undying, even Enduring no longer helping with DS stun were changes made because of the survivor experience.
-
@Nicholas said:
I don't care about the deactivation conditions, what I do care about is that the changes are strictly from the perspective of improving the experience for the killer. DS is not the effective anti tunnel perk people make it out to be. You have to be picked up within 60 seconds, so I guess if your tunnel exceeds 60 seconds then it's not tunneling anymore. If you go down within 60 seconds and the killer slugs you, if he picks you up at the 61 second mark then I guess that's not tunneling. so according to the devs, tunneling can only happen one time, and it all has to happen within 60 seconds of being rescued and they have to pick you up because outside of these perimeters it's not tunneling?
Just like the Ruin and Undying changes. Both changes were made to improve the survivor's gameplay experience. Old Ruin was changed due to the skill checks being "too hard" for new players. Undying is being changed due to the chance of Ruin jumping to 3 more totems. Which is not a fun experience for survivors. Why is the DS change an issue because it improves the killer experience?
-
Good job devs.
-
Blight is a contender for top 5 killers for a lot of people, and he is pretty new.
-
The matchmaking should always go off of the higher MMR SWF member imo. If they average it, people will keep complaining about getting survivors that are too good and more experienced. People playing killer shouldn't be punished for it. It isn't fun for an average or newer killer player to face a SWF with 2 average players and 2 good survivors for example. The 2 good survivors are going to smash on the killer easily. The survivors are choosing to play SWF. The killer can't choose to not face the higher MMR more experienced survivor players.
With that said, it isn't fun for new or average survivors to face good experienced killers, but they are choosing to play SWF. This is why SWF is flawed. You can't balance it. Either you have new and average killers facing experienced survivors when they SWF with average MMR survivors, or you have new and average survivors facing good killers when they SWF with higher MMR friends. It is unfair for both sides.

He has a longer range of hit box than other killers in the game. His pointy fingers seem to give him extendo arms and still hits me when I vault anything. His dream snares are annoying and unfun to play against him in general. Being oblivious causes a lot of issues. Can’t predict where he is. He just M1’s you and then stops chase so you have to waste time healing when you could work on a gen. Not to mention gen slowdown build on Freddy is insane. Adding that to him just makes it unfun. Ruin / Undying / Freddy = GG
I just quit when I get him because what’s the point
He does NOT have a longer lunge range. People only think this because Freddy is very short compared to the majority of killers. Clown also has a slow just like Freddy, yet people don't whine about Clown's slow. You quitting if you get a Freddy is proof that a lot of survivors don't want any challenge while playing, and you also show how uninformed most survivor mains are by thinking Freddy has a longer lunge than any other killer. A quick google search could've clarified that you were wrong thinking that BTW.

But to be fair I see countless of people complaining about wait times as survivor? I am only taking that you want killers to spend hours after hours mastering a killer game after game being subjected to gg ez and taunting then when that killer becomes tired of learning you moan about wait times?
You need a killer like spirit other wise your waiting along time for matches its the truth. 🐷💖
Okay. What does this have to do with my post? Did I ever say anything about mastering a killer? Also I never moaned about queue times. I was just explaining to the OP that they are wrong thinking Spirit is just an ez 4k machine. Your post really makes no sense to me.

@Orionbash said:
Survivor perks are fine as is. Where survivors have been nerfed way harder than killer is in the form of the maps. Dead zones galore, useless pallets, and breakable walls have basically made it so killers are spoonfed their 4ks. Killers refuse to learn to get better and it's killing the game.
I find it funny when people bring up all the survivor nerfs over the years. The best part is that even after all the nerfs to survivor, they are still the true power role when played optimally. People actually thought infinites, god loops, and pallet vacuum were fine. I wouldn't be surprised if people still thought they were fine and that they should still be in the game.
-
Sprit's issue isn't that she is too easy and too strong. A new player can't pick her up and just 4k decent survivors. She actually takes time to learn. The issue with Spirit is that once a player actually gets good with her, she is almost impossible to counter. People that think Spirit is an instant 4k at 5 gen machine with no practice are very mistaken.
-
I agree.
-
9 out of 10 times, the survivors put the killer in a situation that promotes camping. Survivors just love to rush hook saves. Most of the time, they save right when you are walking away. They also love to think the killer can't see them crouching around waiting for a save when you go to hook a survivor. Most survivor deaths are caused by survivor-induced camping, with snowball. I just played a killer game where all the survivors were injured and didn't even give me a chance to leave the hooked survivor before attempting to unhook. I slugged them all and then one disconnected. Am I toxic or a bad killer because I took advantage of an opportune situation? Or was I just playing smart? I would say I was playing smart, but I also understand the game well. Someone that doesn't understand the game well would probably think I was toxic.

Then this thread isn't for you. Dbd only has one mode and it's nice to meet random people who want to just chill during a match. I just wanted to express my gratitude to those killers who don't play like the people you describe.
Nowhere in my post do I deride people for their choice in play style, I am a firm believer in players playing how they want as long as they follow the rules that the devs have set. I am also against people who badmouth tunnelers, campers or slugging at 5 gen killers. But there is nothing wrong with survivors expressing their frustrations with those strategies either.
I understand. Good luck and I hope you have fun in game.

Its very funny how hypocritical you are with a profile pic of NOED lol. Im sure you are terrible at the game
Think whatever you want about me. At least I can say I understand the game and can see reality, unlike 90% of the player base.
-
Sorry that some people have fun playing to win in a PvP game I guess.....? As a solo survivor player, my fun isn't more important than the killer's fun. If they want to play to win, slug, tunnel, etc, that is fine, because I will loop them and rush gens hard, aka, the survivor version of playing to win. Like, I can understand not wanting to be faced camped, because that is dumb, but this is a PvP game. If you really want more meme filled games, I would suggest finding like minded people to play KYF with. In most PvP games people play to win. DBD is actually the first PvP game that I have played in my almost 20 years of PC gaming where one side gets mad when other side plays to win.
-
Why are people considered bias when they understand the game for what it is? Even good no bias survivor mains think the game is survivor sided when all 4 survivors are competent. Do you just want an echo chamber that doesn't see reality?
-
Well killer can be very frustrating. Once survivors get semi competent at doing gens and looping, most killers are just terrible vs them. Especially if the player playing the killer is average skill level. This then makes people shy away from the killer role. Now, I'm not saying survivor can't be frustrating, because survivors do deal with face campers at times, and low skill teammates quite often, even at red ranks. The thing with survivor is that even though you can face those things, you can still have a pretty pleasant experience if you are a competent survivor player. If you can run and hit gens hard, even most competent killers won't be too much of an issue when the killer player is playing the majority of the killer roster. A competent killer usually also has a decent time because most survivors are not very good at the game. But once you face competent survivors on a killer like Wraith, or Ghost Face, you are gonna struggle.
-
DBD's biggest issue is balancing imo. But the game does lack variety, that is undeniable. The meta has been the same for 3 years pretty much, even though we have had a ton of content released. DS, UB, SB, DH, OoO, BT, PGTW, BBQ, Ruin and so on. Even the best 2 killers hasn't changed in years.
-
Or you could let your team do the gens while you hang, then struggle. The other survivors can do almost all of the gens by the time you die.
-
Solo is only hard in the sense that most survivors are not very good. So they make solo harder for good solo players. Outside of that, solo is a breeze vs the majority of killers you will face. Sometimes you run into a good Spirit, which will give you a challenge as a good survivor, but it is rare.
-
Solo doesn't need help. People need to get better at survivor in all honesty. Solo doesn't need a totem counter. The survivor role is already getting it's hand held too much. Solo is only bad when your teammates are low skill. If 50% of survivors could play optimally, solo would be 200% better. 99% of the issues solo has is due to other survivors. People DC for any reason, they give up on hook for any reason, they crouch around, they don't do gens, they can't run the killer, they rush hooks to save, which lets the killer snowball, etc. I have no issue on a personal level as a solo survivor. I can run most killers to the point they lose multiple gens, or they just leave me to find a weaker target. The only thing I have an issue with is lower skilled teammates giving low skilled killers free wins.
People really need to look into their personal skill and find how to improve. This is a PvP game and it should be a challenge for both sides, not just killer vs experienced survivors.
-
@Kirkylad said:
I agree with you, however some killers can be toxic and do the same amount of complaining about things on the survivor side aswell. There's also a lot of us that aren't toxic and understand there's broken stuff on both sides that could be changed. Both sides are pretty much 50/50 between people who only play their side and complain about the other side and don't care about them and then there's people who play both sides and just laugh at some of the things they complain about and understand the difference between a valid complaint and just complaining because they don't understand how the other side works.
Great post. This pretty much sums it up. DBD has its bias players that only play one side, but it also has players that have played enough of both sides to know which complaints are valid and which ones are laughably bad.
-
Can't blame people for wanting to win. Be mad at the people in charge for the sad state of gen speed. I gen rush when I play solo survivor as well. I sit on gens over looting chests and doing totems. I even wait until someone has like 20 seconds left in their stage to save off hook. Doing gens hard is the most effective way to win as a survivor. Getting mad at the players playing to win on survivor is like getting mad for a killer for playing to win. I fully expect to get proxy camped, slugged and tunneled if I get a good team and we gen rush a killer that knows what to do.
-
Be happy you had a 4 gen chase. Solo is terrible and you just gotta play for doing well personally imo. Don't worry so much about escaping.

What defines good? I believe in order to be good, all four must spend their life playing the game and use discord to win. Then, they finally win against an average killer. A good killer might kill 1 or 2 of them and it is still believed the killer is weak because they happened to opened the gates. Too much is expected from the 4 to win or be on equal footing with the killer. What's wrong with the killer trying harder? Why couldn't it feel good to actually kill someone instead of it being "expected"?
Regarding the rates, red ranks are most important because on average, everyone there knows the basics of the game. Doctor and Freddy kills 3 out of 4 every single match. I bet most of those few escapes are hatches or key escapes. Not good.
So you think the 1 vs the 4 should have to try harder? How is that fair? Anyway, at this point I'm done talking balance. It is boring having to go over the same points over and over. People refuse to see this game for how it truly is. The game is highly survivor sided at high skill level. Only 2 killers can compete vs 4 actual good survivors. But everyone wants the game balanced around average players because they are the majority, even though other PvP games balance around good players and still have a tons of casual average players. DBD is a haven for people that want to feel like they are good without having to put in the time to learn how to be good. Ask any truly good player, like Hexy, Tru3, Otzdarva and so on. Even comp player streamers say the game is survivor sided when everyone in the trial is good.
-
SWF is an issue when all 4 survivors are decent, even more so when they are on coms, but it won't kill the game. In fact, SWF is one of the things keep this game alive tbh.

Nothing to do with survivors skill. Killer mechanics are too easy while survivor mechanic require too much effort, practice. Survivors have been nerfed for 4 years straight, maps been redesigned around expert loopers, and nothing expected more from the killer side. I'm still seeing maps with gigantic deadzones where their recently over-buffed bubba does nothing but press a button and they are dead. How is that remotely fair? Your percentages are too low, if I remember correctly doctor was closer to 70% or more. With the hatch escapes factored in, an average killer winning that much over average survivors shouldn't be possible at all.
What about when all 4 survivors are competent? Why is it an issue for killers to stomp on average survivors, but 4 good survivors being able to dominate all but 2 killers is fine? Why is requiring survivors to improve such a bad thing? If you are a good survivor, you know that most killers are a joke mechanic wise to face, and that most killer players are actually not even very good. They just happen to be slight better, or on par with most survivors. It's just that survivor is less rewarding at low skill level than killer. I really don't see the issue with the 1 in the 4 vs 1 being stronger. The survivors should have to try more. I say this as a competent 50/50 player as well.
Also here are the kill rates for all ranks: https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/68NFHE5K59C2/image.png
Here is kill rates for red ranks: https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VV799GPBPFZF/image.png
My percentages are not off. I didn't specify red ranks only because there are more ranks than just red.

That’s true to an extent but there’s also a majority who are skilled and have over 3,000 hours in the game like myself who also agree that Freddy is brain dead but that’s just my opinion and theirs. The overall problem is that survivors can’t post a thread they want about a killer or killers because they get attacked right away.
There really isn't anything wrong with Freddy. I don't even play him anymore after his rework, and I say this. When I face him as a survivor, I can run him just like I do Clown. The main issue with this game in general is that most players are low skill and refuse to improve. They just want to nerf things instead. The only reason Freddy, or a killer like Doc has a high kill rate is because the majority of survivors are not good. Why does a killer need to be nerfed because of that? A Freddy vs 4 competent players is going to struggle to do well unless the survivors make mistakes the Freddy player can capitalize on. For some reason that isn't seen as an issue, but killers stomping low skill survivors is. The devs need to make their mind up. They need to balance around casual low skill players, and disregard the good competent players, or balance around good players and incentivize the lower skill players to improve. This is the whole reason this game is killer sided vs low skill survivors, while also being survivor sided when the survivors know how to play optimally.
-
This is just the normal DBD experience. Granted, I know how to play killer, but a lot of newer and lower skilled players deal with this everyday. You just gotta push through until you get competent with killer, or just stop playing killer. The new MMR might help, but that will be unknown until we can see it in action first hand.
