  • I agree that killer is not very fun compared to survivor currently. As killer you are at a disadvantage vs any good survivor, and especially vs a SWF. Playing survivor is a whole different level. You find a gen, and repair it. The killer then comes and chases you. All you have to do is be decent at looping and you are set. While you are running the killer you have 3 other people to do gens. You can rely on others on survivor. The killer doesn't have people to rely on. On killer you have to worry about gens, finding, chasing, hitting, chasing then hitting again. You have to constantly make sure you don't devote to much time to a chase. You have to make sure you don't chase in certain areas.

As a killer you are the one that is worrying, which is honestly a joke imo. It is a 4 v 1. You should be scary and the survivors should be afraid. Any decent survivor knows most of the playable killers can't do anything. Examples are repairing in the killer's face, or survivors chasing after the killer to get flashlight saves and so on. When I play survivor I'm always in the mindset that the killer can't do anything to me, and most of the time they can't. I run WoO a lot and it lets me see everything around me. I know the route I'm gonna take while on a gen as soon as I start repairing. If the killer comes I got it all planned out. If they are gonna chase me, they are going to lose some gens.

The sad part is that A LOT of the players don't see the game likes this, but at the same time some say killer is "too stressful", so they just main survivor. How can killer be stressful, and OP/easy at the same time? The only hard part about playing survivor, imo, is dealing with random skill levels of your teammates. Everything else is a cake walk. As long as my team isn't dead weight, it is usually an easy escape.

  • Every person I have tried to get to play the game has said no, or has quit due to fixable reasons. When they say no to joining me the main reasons why are the balance and grind. They ask me about the balance and I tell them the truth. The game is not balanced well. The new killer experience is awful. You face red rank survivors a lot. I tell them that even good killers can struggle due to the maps, and gen repair speeds. I talk about the meta, and how stale it is. I get into the topic of meta killers, and how most of the killers are weak when facing decent survivors. Then I move on to what SWF is, and how it can cause a lot of balance issues. After that I talk about the solo survivor experience. I tell them that solo survivor can be really fun, but dealing with the skill level of random teammates can get frustrating. Especially once you get decent at survivor. I inform them about face camping, and mori etc.

I talk them about the toxic nature of the community as well. Then the grind talk comes. This is by far the most off putting thing. Even with being able to get 2 perks per web at level 50, the grind is still huge. Currently I think DBD needs a lot of things done to make it more new player friendly. I have almost 900 hours and I don't even have all perks unlocked on one survivor or killer yet. I also never prestige. 900 hours is a lot of time to invest in a game. Most games you play by 900 hours you can have everything unlocked. No one wants to be at a disadvantage, especially for too long, and that is what the grind is like for new players. It is a huge disadvantage because you will be paired against people with perks. It makes people feel like they are being cheated.

Now, we have the matchmaking. The matchmaking is very bad for new players. On the steam forums we have multiple posts almost daily about new players, specifically killers, going against red rank survivors while being rank 10+. This is another thing that makes people feel like they are being cheated, and are at a disadvantage. No new fresh killer player wants to face experienced survivors with a full kit of meta perks. Players want a fair experience. Overall, if person asks me if they should get into DBD, I tell them no and tell them why.

  • Anyone that plays DBD a at decent skill level knows why Bloodlust is needed. I suggest you spend some time playing killer so you can see why it is in the game.

  • Do you play killer at all? Imagine back to back LT tiles without Bloodlust vs a decent runner. Good luck catching them in a reasonable amount of time.

  • Killers are only the power role vs low skill survivors. Have you ever played killer? Have you ever been a red rank killer? If you haven't then you don't know anything about the power survivor has compared to killer. Sorry if that sounds mean, but it is the truth. The hardest thing about playing survivor is dealing with random teammates as a solo player. I say this as a person that has been rank 1 multiple times on killer and survivor. I enjoy both roles and I'm one of the least bias players you will ever meet.
