When you refer to “saltynooty” you’re referring to a large portion of the community who agrees with his post btw. Pfft Negative Nancy.
A large portion of the community are also low skilled and whine about things good players don't.
-
I leave people that don't contribute much behind. If I see someone crouching around not on a gen while the obsession is being chased I will leave them behind. That is one example.
-
Why are most killers easy to win with? Is it because the killers are actually too strong, or is it because most survivors just aren't very good? Doc has a 60.33% kill rate. Bubba has a 62.04% kill rate and Pig has a 62.09% kill rate. Would you consider these killers strong vs a competent survivor, or survivor team? Personally, I wouldn't and most good players don't as well.

Reality check: it's not that hard to loop a killer and make them give up on chasing you. I did to 2 PH's, 1 Ghostface, 1 Huntress and 1 Wraith today. As long as you have good judgement, a solid reaction time and good pallet positioning; obstacle positioning, you're set. Freddy on the other hand destroy that with said snares and fools you with dream pallets. Obviously, that wa a bad Freddy otherwise you wouldn't be making that statement.
Yeah, it has to be because the Freddy was bad, otherwise I wouldn't be able to loop him. It's not like you didn't just admit that looping the killer is easy if you have a good tile setup when you are an observant competent survivor player. Guess who also has snares? Clown. Can I loop Clown just as easily? Yes I can. The only things Freddy has over Clown are the Dream World slowdown and map/gen pressure via his teleport. In a chase, Freddy is basically Clown.

You obviously didnt read anything of what I just said, nor have you experienced facing off against a disgusting Freddy. Before you come back to this reply, face off against Freddy in back to back scenarios. Pretty sure I explictedly stated things in my wall of text that gave you insight on where I stand.
I have faced a good Freddy. Want to know what happened? I looped him so much he left me and went to down my teammates with 5 second chases. I guess he was just a super good Freddy to down my teammates in 5 seconds, or I'm just the best survivor on the planet for making him break chase with me.
-
Freddy is only so "good" because most survivors can't play well. Why should a decent killer be nerfed because most survivors refuse to adapt and improve at the game? Literally only like 3 killers out of 20+ are even a challenge for a competent survivor. Why play a PvP game if you don't wish to improve?
-
I love Wraith. I might get worked over by competent survivors, but the majority of the time I have a blast with him.
-
I would say the majority of survivors don't like a challenge. Why do you think most people play survivor? The game is only difficult vs like 4 killers if you are a competent survivor, and the player playing the killer has to be decent as well. I have had people cuss me out for using Doc on Fractured Cowshed. Imagine getting mad at a Doc on that map. Also, I said the majority, not all. So if you fall into that small minority that likes a challenge as survivor, don't get offended.

That's the conclusion I came to, and I'm not really seeing any arguments that say otherwise tbh. The only counter is to be not only a swf, but a good one (unless the killer is bad, then even a swf with survivors who play badly can outplay then), but we've already seen according to the devs statistics that the majority of survivors play in solo queue.
Even when using Unbreakable and DS pub games are often times impossible to win. Meanwhile if I use undying and ruin on a freddy I'm going to win at least 3 out of 4 of my matches with ease. Hell, even before I used undying and ruin I was using pop, oppression, and surveillance, and still won 3 out of 4 of my games. Undying and ruin just made me sweat a lot less.
It's just overwhelming, and it's like I have to study for some class to get better at survivor whereas it's typically more simple not only in relativity but in general to compete in red rank pub games as killer while being mediocre and winning most of your matches.

I'd disagree on that, reaction times are very important on both sides. I also do use windows of opportunity regularly but it's only a little help, and not a lot. And I'm sorry but it's not nearly as easy as you make it out to be. Also, those survivor content creators are narrating their own specific chase. They are on a particular side of the map, in a particular jungle gym, with a particular map RNG and particular perks, as well as against a particular killer. You can't just copy and paste and become good at looping when there are so many variables.
I also watch DBD streamers regularly, both killer and survivor. Pretty much every day
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1893036#Comment_1893036
There's no disagreement about what I meant. I explained what I meant and how what I said meant a particular meaning. Neither of you two have a space to contest that, but you do have a space in continuing being the smoothbrain you are and contributing to my thread and giving it more attention than it already has. You're mostly good for nothing, but at least are dumb enough to coincidentally be good for something. Keep it up, chump
Feel free to insert whatever second cheesy comeback you've got but unfortunately a clown can entertain themselves and there's no assistance on my part needed to do that for you, so this exchange ends here. Feel free to stick around though as you already have been.

No need to apologise for the wall of text, and thank you for responding (as well as the lot of everyone else).
I do notice details, but it's really just weird that I can't seem to wrap my brain around what the killer is doing. Personally I play in a particular way as killer and the survivors I see don't really play any different, therefore it's easy to know what they're doing, even if I don't personally do them myself. My issue isn't about winning or anything; some of my favourite games actually I lost, but it either was unique and/or I had a good chase. Like the most scary game I had was maybe a month ago. I was giving Object of Obsession a try and was kind of liking it since I wanted to get better at chase so I thought why not make a perk where I'm going to be the centre of the killer's attention. But it was on Midwich, against a Scratch Mirror Myers with Huntress Lullaby. Extremely difficult game, and somehow I managed to be the last one alive. Other favourite games were against some good nurses that I manage to loop around a bit. I died, but the chases were fun (one reason why I get excited going against nurses).
There's also "creating" loops as well, and I've been trying to do that recently but it's really meh. Like if there are two pallets near each other, I will pre drop, circle around them a few times, then go to the other to do the same thing and kind of create a faux jungle gym. But it's all really variable depending on the killer, and there are plenty of killers I suck going against. It also could be that maybe I'm underrating how I play. It didn't strike me until now that it would've made more sense to show what I actually play like, not for critiques (although much appreciated) but for context as to what I'm saying. I only have one that's viable to upload (i tried uploading the other which shows more of a chase but it's on The Game and the video is dark as #########, almost black, when downstairs).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5g7-wpKUCg
I was playing with a streamer and her friends here. We weren't on comms. Chase happens at about 8:54
Well I have found that watching good players, along with playing has made me a competent survivor. I have no issue doing well. Just because it doesn't or didn't work for you, doesn't mean it can't work for others. Maybe you have just hit your personal skill cap with survivor.
-
Watch good players on Twitch. That with your 800 hours should help. Some people do have a plateau to their ability though. Personally, I only have a little bit more time played than you, and I'm fairly decent at survivor, but I have also been watching DBD on Twitch for thousands of hours. Yes, I know, I have no life lol.
-
Because they are dumb and unfair? A decent Huntress with Iri and belt is boring to face. This is like asking why people complain about decent survivors playing SWF together.
-
I would like it to be base kit. He is too reliant on add-ons.

Wow lmao. Now imagine if that chase was vs a survivor that could loop......
-
All of the farm maps can be brutal, but Fractured Cowshed is the worst. It is the best survivor map in the game , imo.
-
I think tunneling is when the killer tries to re-hook you right after you get unhooked. The Nancy was trying to abuse DS and get the unpunished unhook. Then she went on a gen and you found her. That is not tunneling. This is what bias survivors love to do. It's the reason so many don't want DS changed to be a real anti-tunnel perk. In the future just get your laugh from the player messaging salt and move on. Not need to even question if you tunneled, because in any good non bias player's eyes, you didn't tunnel.
-
Forget FNAF, or any new content tbh. They should work on fixing things and changing the stale meta before they release more new content. The meta has been almost 100% the same for 3 years at least. They need to nerf every meta perk into the ground and buff old perks, along with with addressing the communities concerns. All new content does is bring new problems. The game needs an "operation health" type update.
-
Going into a locker is fine. The killer is still trying to tunnel. DS is only a problem when survivors abuse it. Like when they sit on a gen in the killers face because the killer's only choice is to slug. Or when survivors rush in to save people off hook while DS is active.

How do you play around it? Unbreakable and WGLF exist.
You're not supposed to play around it. You are supposed to just accept that DS and UB is a thing and keep on being a play thing for competent survivors.

OMG! Do gens?! The balls on these survivors. They should find a corner and selfcare for 60 seconds.
It's called tactics. These what if arguments can be used against what killers do just as easily.
The thing is they aren't "what if" things. They happen all the time. Just keep on ignoring that though.
-
This is normal DBD player behavior. Your best bet is to make your profile comments private or friends only, unless you like the salt.

It's been nerfed.
Proclaimed dead by the community (even though some reconized the potential)
and finally back in the lime light.
The moving of goal post with this perk is astounding. The perk is fair. That's all we wanted to begin with with the original nerf. It no longer denies a hook and no longer punishes a killer for downing a survivor. If you can't keep track of 60s, thats on you.
Hell, I've heard killer mains say it should be basekit. I'm not going that far but it just shows how much the perk has changed since release in 2016.
How is it fine and fair when competent players abuse the 60 seconds to do gens or save people, while also using UB? It's a win for the survivor even when you don't intentionally hard tunnel them off hook, which is what the perk is supposed to be for in all honesty.
-
DS is fine as a true anti-tunnel perk, but the current version isn't that. The current version is just too strong in competent players hands. They can sit on gens, and rescue people from the hook with little punishment. Especially if they run it with UB.
-
Steam has like 40 - 50k peak atm. I would guess the PlayStaion Network alone has at least double that. Then we have Xbox Live players. They gave DBD away with PS+ before and I think they also gave it away for the Xbox equivalent at some point too. It has never been "free" on PC from what I know.
-
I hope they listen to the players and read the additional feedback that people have left, but I won't get my hopes up, or hold my breath.
-
In all my time playing, I have had like 2 or 3 survivors give me pity kills. I know I that I have let someone go via hatch or door way more than that.
-
@csandman1977 said:
I have said this before and more than once. The most scary and dangerous thing in this game for survivors, are other survivors.
If you are decent at survivor, this is 100% correct.
-
I have ALWAYS said SWF is also bad for solo play. For one, it takes most of the good survivor players out of the solo pool due to most of the remaining good survivor players only playing SWF with their good survivor friends. For two, they can treat solo players bad. Your examples have happened to me also. With that said, key is still an issue that needs to be fixed. Survivors should not be able to use a key to get 2 people out with 2 gens left when 2 people are dead, or 3 people out with 1 gen left when 1 person is dead.
-
Wrong. I just see the game for how it is. I don't have some rose tinted glasses view of the game. I know survivors DC way more than killers because I have played the game a lot. I'm not bias just because I campaign for killers. I have played 50/50 pretty much. I just see how strong survivor is, or how entitled most survivor mains are. I also see your point, and I can agree that some killers do DC, but it's not as much as survivors from my personal experience.
-
Nice. I'm glad you saw the error of your old ways. I usually support being a nice person, but when it comes to DBD and survivors, show no mercy to them. They will rag on you no matter what. Playing nice is just not worth it. They don't appreciate it most of the time.
-
Oh please. I have played enough DBD to know survivors DC way more than killers do.
-
People that get disconnected due to their internet, I feel sorry for you to a certain extent, because I believe everyone should have access to affordable, high quality internet, but it is your personal problem not caused by the game, usually. We need the DC penalty. Survivors will disconnect for any reason. Most of the time when people would disconnect vs me was because they went down early because they played bad. A lot of survivor mains are very entitled people that always want the game to go their way. They don't care if they ruin everyone else's fun when they DC. Why do you think the penalty was even added. Before the penalty, I had someone DC in my game like every other trial. Sometimes multiple would DC as well.
-
You see the game as the devs do. They only see the average low skill players. You are not taking into account good players. Killer vs good survivors is hard. Solo survivor with average teammates vs a decent killer is hard due to your teammates being deadweight most of the time. You most likely aren't having an issue because you have been playing for 2 years and you might be decent at the game. So as a solo survivor, on a personal level, you can do well, and as killer you might be decent at it and have good games because most survivors are average low skill players.
-
It wouldn't have been such a walk in the park if the survivors were actually good. Keys, SWF and map offerings won't help 95% of survivors because most of them are not very good at the game.
-
@csandman1977 said:
So a killer hitting a survivor is the killer being bad and needing to get good. But a survivor getting hit isn't?
I mean, people though it was fine to punish killers for playing well by getting hits and to reward survivors for not avoiding hits with old MoM.
-
It ain't too bad. As a decent survivor, and a Claudette main, I like when people are surprised I'm not useless.
-
@Yamaoka said:
Experienced Killers are allowed to beat potato-level and most semi-decent survivors and at the same time forced to get destroyed when they face a decent SWF team unless they're playing meta killers with meta builds and/or using a combination of all "scummy" playstyles.
Solo survivors are allowed to destroy bad/inexperienced killers if the entire team does gens which is rarely the case and forced to die in all of the other matches.
Elite level SWF teams seem to be the only people to have "consistent" fun and very little stress or frustration.
Great post. IMO, it is 100% spot on.

Im fine with those changes, but it should be active on EGC, killers still tunnel in end game, so why deactive it? yeah it is strong, but that's because you let survivors repair the gens
I mean, you don't let survivors repair gens. If they are good and know how to play, there is little you can actually do on most killers. The devs even said they expect multiple gens to pop during your first chase. How can you prevent something that is supposed to happen?
-
I feel like the devs hand hold the survivor role too much. We have a ton of people that really don't understand the game ruining it for the solo survivors that do understand the game well. Red ranks are filled with clueless survivors because the role is just too easy. I feel like the survivor role takes priority when it comes to fun, and enjoyment of the game. I feel like the devs only listen to what survivors want. Undying is getting the nerf, but things like DS, UB and OoO are left alone. Anytime survivors don't like something, it is usually nerfed. The same can't be said for killer.
I also feel like the devs are out of touch with how their game really is. They make balance choices based off of data most good players consider flawed. How can you see how things really are at all skill levels if you just bunch the stats from low skill players with high skill players? I also really think the devs have no regard for good players when it comes to balance choices. Take OoO not being a problem just because people that use it die a lot. What about all the good players that SWF on coms with it? Why are they not considered? It is like the devs know the game has bad balance, and that the game relies on people being bad at survivor for the killer to have any enjoyment. So they just keep balancing the game around lower skilled players, because the are the majority. This then allows the good players to abuse everything indented for the "average" player.
At the end of the day, I like DBD, but it has too many glaring flaws to just shrug them off, imo.
-
Yeah, it sure seems like it. I love DBD, but I also hate a lot of things about the game.

Actually no, the new DS is a buff. The first original DS was worse, yes, because it was on all four survivors and would go off on being downed, and could be saved. But then they changed it so really only one person per team was likely to get a DS, and you could at least juggle that survivor and get them too a hook if you where lucky, so some counterplay. The new one is sixty seconds of near immunity, and is only mitigated by slugging. Which isn't much honestly. And if they have unbreakable its complete invincibility. It lasts for 60 seconds, which is a long time, and you can work on gens, heal, and hop in lockers. Its just a perk thats too powerful and promotes bad play instead of rewarding good play.
That is what I said.... Hello?

I saw nothing wrong with that video. It's only a one-time use perk. Killers have slowdown perks gallore, if DS slows a killrush killer down, it is serving the purpose of a perk :)
Survivors and the devs have already dictated how killers should play enough. People literally save in the killers face because of DS. Survivors are allowed to play terrible and have a ton of second chance perks and other mechanics, but killer always just needs to "git gud" or adapt. The devs don't want survivors to improve at the game I guess. Because if they did they wouldn't be hand holding the survivor role so much. Literally only like 1 out of every 10 red rank solo survivor games you will have 1 decent teammate. Survivor is so easy to play that people that can't even run for 10 seconds can get there. This game is in a terrible state due to survivor and holding. People don't improve and they just keep on nerfing killer things. Sorry, I know this is off topic, and ranty, but yeah. You think DS is serving its purpose just fine. I don't even have to wonder what side you main with your point of view of DS.

It should have been corrected so dribbling was not possible, as in the new version. If you don't tunnel, the new version is completely voided.
If you don't tunnel it is completely voided?. The video provided above proves that you are wrong.

I thought his high kill rate was due to his powers covering gen slowdown, map pressure and anti-loop all at once, in a way solo queue survivors really struggle with
His high kill rate is honestly because a lot of survivors give up vs him because they think he is OP. When in reality, Freddy is just a Clown with better map pressure for the most part. Freddy only excels vs survivors that struggle vs most of the killers. A competent survivor player can deal with Freddy without a problem on a personal level. When 4 competent players group up, Freddy is a joke.

I couldn't care less if DS is nerfed, I dont even use it a lot (unless im playing solo) but if DS gets nerfed we should punish tunneling
I mean, it would still be an anti tunnel perk with the proposed changes most people want. Most people just want it to deactivate if someone unhooks another survivor, or if they repair a gen, and possibly, but not so much, during EGC, just due to how strong it is for getting people out in EGC. If you are unhooking someone or doing a gen, you are not being tunneled, and those two situations are what cause the most frustration with DS for a lot of people. People that straight up complain about DS because they want to tunnel are a minority.
-
@Sluzzy said:
It's already been heavily nerfed five times. A decisive strike should not be on a timer and it should not be decided by the killer. It was already overnerfed.
Current DS is WAY better than the last version. Before on killer, we could dribble the obsession to a hook. Also, only the obsession got the instant skillcheck. Everyone else had to wiggle to 35%.
-
I only play solo survivor. When I do play enough to rank up, I'm usually rank 1 - 2. When I'm not in chase I focus gens hard. When I'm being chased I run the killer for as long as I can. I recently have been running WoO, DH, Kindred and Spine Chill as my perks, but Kindred, and an exhaustion perk for your choice and 2 other perks will do fine. You might even want to use Windows of Opportunity (WoO) if you don't know most tiles. It will help you learn tiles so you can learn to loop.
Another suggestion if you want to improve at survivor is to watch some good players that stream. I can suggest ZubatLEL, ScottJund, TrU3Ta1ent, FunGoose and Hexy. They all stream on Twitch and all of them play survivor at a pretty good level. They all play killer at a good level as well, so you can also learn killer things too. Another thing I can suggest is to play solo more. Even if you are dying, keep going. SWF becomes a crutch for a lot of survivor players. I also can't forget to suggest you to play killer. It can be rough and cause anxiety and stress at times, but you can learn a lot about survivor play from playing killer. Good luck.
-
The devs and the majority of survivor mains see no issue with these situations. I always bring these situations up in DS discussions, and I'm always told that these situations are "rare", even though it happened to you twice in the same game.
-
@Roobnus said:
When I started playing DbD, I'd get excited when that happened and after the match, I'd check out their stream only to find out they're shittalking me for stream sniping and whatnot so now my feeling of excitement kinda turned into a bad feeling of getting shittalked behind my back.
I played against MORF_UK without even knowing but after a while I notice a ton of steam notifications of people leaving insulting comments on my steam profile. So I texted one of them only to find out that MORF actively promoted his viewers to head over to my profile and insult not just for my playstyle (I guess he was not happy that I 4k'd them) but also making fun of my look live on stream once he found my social media profiles.
He's also a fog whisperer - what a great example he is to promote the game!
This. Most of the people I have played vs that were streaming just trashed talked me the whole time with their SWF buddies. It made the 4ks feel even better. Nothing warms the heart like a 4 man SWF on coms getting salty.

@Mr_K said:
These dry spells occur for both sides. The pendulum is just currently on the survivor side. A year ago, killer queues were the ones taking forever.
This was only a PC killer issue I'm pretty sure. Console, from what I heard, always has had long survivor queues. Especially for 4 man SWF. Before cross-play PC solo survivor queues were pretty quick, but killer was always longer.
-
With the influx of survivor mains from cross-play, and with the current state of killer, this is what you get. Average DBD players don't want to deal with all the survivor's second chances and so on. So people quit, or just play survivor. I know several people that have gave up killer and just play survivor now.
