  • This would be terrible. While some Perks would be okish when they are not Tier 3, others are required on Tier 3. E.g. you want to play DS, you want to have the 60 second-Version for max Protection. You HAVE to play Laurie. You want Iron Will? You HAVE to play Jake, because Iron will not on Level 3 is not worth it at all.

Meanwhile you can get away with Adrenaline on 2, since the Exhaustion does not matter that much.

And there are probably tons of Niche-Perks which will be affected even more. I mean, lets imagine you paid a lot of money on this game to get all the Skins for one Character and then you cannot play this character anymore, because one of the Perks you are using is not effective at all (e.g. Iron Will). Not really cool.

  • You should be happy that they are not on PS4 or XBox, they are really bad. They are also not officially released on PC, however, they seem to force them on the PC Players, because this "test" is going on for a while, even tho it is clear that the Servers are far away from ready (Fall will also not be the Date for the Servers, pretty sure about that).

  • I mean, Level 2 of the Tome will come in less than a week.

    So... Whats your problem exactly?

  • @thesuicidefox

"All that does is discourage people from even attempting the save even if they were prepared for it."

I guess this is the point of this idea. Of course this does not make any sense at all.

  • Wraith: Has fking loud Footsteps and Breathing while cloaked, not 100% invisible, takes ages to uncloak, does not move that fast while cloaked (and if this is increased, he takes even longer to uncloak), has a Pink Add-On which makes his Bell silent, but you still hear the "woosh"

Meanwhile Spirit: Has all what Wraith has but has quieter Foodsteps, no Breathing, 100% invisible, comes out of Invisibility with a Speedboost, moves way faster while invisible, has Add Ons which are almost all without a negative, has a purple Add On which makes her completely silent

Yeah, I think I can get your point here.

  • Depends how you play your Freddy. If you are that kind of guy who uses Paint Brush and Swing Chains or Swing Chains and Jump Rope, compared with all the Slowdown Perk, it is not about the actual Strength of the Killer, more about how annoying it is to go against.

From my experience, people have not that much of a problem vs Freddy. However, if Freddy is using all this Slowdown-Stuff, it is highly annoying to play against him and then I see people DC. And Freddy is so much more than just massive Slowdown.

If you were using a normal Build, I dont know. Might be coincidence.

  • Moved to Off-Topic. If you click the Link in General Discussions, you will go to the Off-Topic Thread.

  • I guess it was changed intentionally. The sound on the PTB got negative Feedback, because it is really annoying to hear this "Pling" the whole game. I like the new sound, for me it is clear and not annoying.

How many games did you do with the new Nurse on Live Version? Because you will most likely get used to the new sound.

  • I ready up once 4 Survivors are in the Lobby. I dont care about their Loadout, their names or characters they are playing.

I also dont care about a Quickswitch, this is only the reaction on Killers dodging lobby because they are afraid of anything that might not end up in an ez 4K.

  • Still waiting for a really obese Survivor. Like 400 pounds+, would look hilarious.

But I am happy with everything, as long as it is Original. Really tired of all this licensed content (last Original Content was the Plague-DLC, which came out ~8 months ago).

It is. More specifically, it's a somewhat infrequent issue with stalking on dedicated servers. Sometimes you can stalk them just fine, other times there's a significant delay before you start stalking (and an equal delay after the survivor breaks line of sight). The same happens to Michael Myers sometimes. We've got a fix in today's hotfix and are keeping an eye on it.

When will it be fixed that people lose Momentum after doing a fast Vault? This is in the game for a long time that the positioning after the Vault is not correct, which results in hits, which should not hit.

And when is this "test" of Dedicated Servers finished? Or are they simply forced upon the PC Players?

  • I would let them die. There is not really a point in having the 3 attempts, people might just hang there for another minute to waste the Killers time. And it would not change anything, even if they have a Kobe.

    What I would like:

BPs for the Hook Stages you missed. There was an idea in the forum about that.

If you die during the EGC without being hooked, you gain 3k BPs in Survival. If you are a One-Hook, you get 2k BP and if you are a Two-Hook, 1k BP. So someone who is hooked the first time will still get 2k Survival BP, which is kinda nice in my opinion.

  • From both options, this one is better, because the Survivor might not know that you have Babysitter. And when the Survivor does not see the Killer at all, they might think you are pointing in a safe direction.

  • Nothing to be done here. There are people who are DCing for Stuff which simply should not be in the game (e.g. Prayer Beads, Iridescent Heads), which are highly unfun to play against.

And there are ######### who DC, just because they got found first or step into a Trap. Nothing can be done about the latter, except for higher Punishments.

There would be a clear difference though as a Survivor getting worn out through running would happen throughout the game.

If someone sprints from gen to gen, they would using up their stamina. If the Killer found them while that stamina is used then they wouldn't be able to prolong a chase as well. This would force Survivors to slow down a little in moving around the map. Thus giving Killers that much more time to hunt.

A 3to1 ratio could work Id think while using the same blood lust rules. If a Survivor holds Shift for 15 seconds they drop a tier in move speed up and again at 30 seconds ending at 45 seconds. But for each second a Survivor isn't holding Shift they recover 3 seconds of stamina.

Outside of a chase a Survivor could use their stamina if they want and run everywhere but had to be mindful of it. And in a chase Survivors could use those little moments in mindgames, stuns, pallets to "take a breather" and recover a bit of stamina. You couldn't simply run from loop to loop without it costing you dearly. You'd have to make the best out of each loop and even if it was a true infinite like days of old it wouldn't mean much as the Survivor couldn't run it forever.

Blood lust is no more than a band-aid for bad map making. But a stamina system could be the proper fix, one that doesn't require the devs to remake every single map every few months.

If people would lose Stamina while running and have the fear of running into the Killer without Stamina, they would play immersed. While immersed Playstyle needs to be encouraged, there is nothing more boring than 4 Survivors hiding while they do Gens. When a Survivor is running, a Killer at least has a Telltale that someone is there. I mean, imagine Sprint Burst Users, who are already only walking across the Map to not waste their Sprint Burst. Everyone would play like that, this would make the game way more boring, I would say, because Survivors have a much slower game experience by not running, while Killers have a harder time finding people, because they dont leave any Scratchmarks (Whispers would basically become mandatory).

Furthermore, it is way worse than Bloodlust. While Bloodlust can be removed by kicking the Pallets, Survivors getting fatique does not simply stop like that. The current Balance is that Pallets need to be broken in order for the Survivor to gain Distance. This would not be possible anymore, because the Survivor will become slower and might not reach the next Loop, when the Killer does not decide to break the Pallet. You would need to balance around a new Mechanic, and I doubt that this is gonna happen in a way that is good for both sides.

  • Those are the Dedicated Servers they are "testing". In fact they are just forcing them on the PC players, the "test" will probably never end.

Dont worry, it is horrible for both sides.

So its all good news OP...you should have the Halloween costumes in time for Christmas.

It sounds really sad when it is said that clearly.

  • @altruistic said:

The Serum expires two weeks after the event ends iirc. It may not be possible to accomplish in that time. However, the second level will unlock which should net 17-18 levels. I finished the first tier at level 17..

    You may be correct lol.

Not after the Event ends, after the Rift closes. So even if the Halloween "Event" ends, there will still be over 60 more days to get the Serum and after those days, 2 more weeks to spend it on Cosmetics.

  • Works well. The Killer always has the ability to hit and down the Unhooker, hitting them before the Unhook and right after and they get another Hook.

  • Maybe dont be that butthurt about that? They teabag, wow. Just show that you are a grown-up adult and ignore it.

  • @altruistic said:

The challenges were very easy for the first level. Every Killer and Survivor one I completed on my first attempt. The only one that took two games was "Sacrifice 5 to the Entity," for obvious reasons.

Aha, so 8 Totems in one game? :P

But yeah, I agree, I have not felt any different, my matches were not worse than before, just because of the Challenges.

But if I read here that people DCed when they were not able to open 3 Chests...

  • Yes, you can still do that. You can do the challenges even when the Rift closes, but you will only gain the BP then and no Rift Fragments.

So even when Level 2 opens, you can still do the Challenges for Level 1 and gain Rift Fragments.

Do the charms do anything other than just for looks?

    Nope.

Which is fine, the Rift Pass is paid content, it should not give any Gameplay Benefits.

At least the survivor can get stacks from protection hits as well as unhooks - the killer only gets points for hooking with BBQ.. Imagine if moris were counted?

And the BBQ aura reading is not so good as its limited and easy to counter.

Its good as it is, I believe.

I mean, except for the Cypress Mori (which nearly nobody is using), you will get Stacks anyway, because you need to Hook the person.

And well, you are only doing your Objective. For WGLF, people might have to adjust their playstyle. Like, I will not take any stupid Hits, just to get a Stack, I will only take Hits if it is really worth it. Same for Unhooks, no need to rush for an Unhook, just for a Stack, when you know other people are already going.

But Killers have it really easy to get their Stacks. So BBQ is way better for BPs than WGLF.

However, what I would wish for WGLF are more ways to get Stacks. Keep it altruistic (so no Stacks for Gen Repairs for example), but dont limit it to Unhooks and wonky Protection HIts. And no Aura Reading needed.

If post-game messages are anything to go by, most players are 12.

    I am 12!

Sadly I am not that far away form the 31-40 category. So in 2 years I will be the same as 40 years old.

    :(

  • I use them on Survivors, when it fits with the Pants they are wearing. But I think they do not really fit with Hooks.

For Hooks I would have loved unique designs instead of Charms.

  • None of them, they all were easy.

What you are quoting has been taken out of context from a Custom Game, during a Tournament with its own rules.

As I already said we do not approve or encourage DCing, there's a system to punish it and I'd like to remind you that the servers are still in a testing phase, until they are not on every platform, they won't be considered live, so you can't expect to have a new system ready and implemented.

@JiggleWiggle There's an escalation process, from a week ban to a permaban, you can find all the information you need in this thread:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

    Speaking of Dedicated Servers:

Can this Test PLEASE come to an end? The Servers are Bullshit, they are far away from ready. Every day people complain about them, they are a horrible experience on both sides.

No reason to let PC players suffer, because BHVR does want to push something through which is not ready at all.

  • I would love to sell some stuff, Offerings, Items, Add Ons... Like, I will never use some of the brown Map Add Ons, still I have tons of them. I never use Mist Offerings, but I have them, same for Map Offerings (on Survivor).

Regarding Map Offerings, I would be happy to have some mechanic to use X Map Offerings (I dont know, maybe 5, maybe 10) to create another Map Offering of your choice. For some Builds, you needs specific Offerings (e.g. Scratched Mirror Myers), so why not use those Offerings you will most likely never use anyway, and craft a Lery Offering out of those?

There is a wide, Grand Canyon-sized gulf between "For free" and "For a reasonable number of my human hours on this earth that I am contributing toward this fun, purely-leisure activity." This isn't a high-skill professional pursuit, or an athletic competition, or climbing Mt. Everest or whatever.

I am just amazed that people really think that it would be a smart business move to get 10 Euros once (1000 Auric Cells) and afterwards dont get any more money from the people who bought the Rift Pass.

  • More the speed to rank up and how long you stay at the actual "Borders" (which are Rank 4/8/12).

If you rank up pretty fast, you will most likely be better than someone who is at Red Ranks near the next Rank Reset.

  • I think you are a Killer Main.

  • Are we at this point again where everyone wants everything for free?

Styptic is still pretty good, it’s definitely better than the syringe because it goes into effect immediately.

Both are ok. I am not sure if they are that ok that they are worth 6000/7000 BPs, but they are not useless at all.

And they both have Counterplay, if the Killer waits 10 seconds after the Survivor used it, he can counter both "Insta Heals".

How about you can heal in the middle of a chase with a killer? It still works almost as good but just isn't ridiculous by taking downed survivors to full hp instantly.

If you can't make a chase last longer than 8 seconds idk what to tell you.

It heals over 16 seconds. Which is quite a good amount of time, and A LOT weaker than before, where it was instant.

insta heal its now useless, dont waste 7000 Bloodpoints in a useless item, for 3000 points brown medikitsare more fast and effective, i have try it myself, i put the insta heal on a friend that i rescued, he had to selfheal himsef, and he did it before the insta heal do it, it just dont do the job its meant to do, its faster heal yourself with basic self healing, the 2nd function of insta heal its also ruinned, you could use it in a loop to get 1 extra hit, but now the killer enters in chase mode before you get healed, so you waste your medikit and still die in 2 hits before you get healed, not to mention if the killer has oneshot weapons.

What makes the Syringe good: You heal and can work on a Gen. It is a lot weaker than before, but it has its use.

Devs stated in another post that lvl 2 comes out 2 weeks after event start, lvl 3 2 weeks after that and lvl 4 3 weeks after that.

Since we know event lasts 10 weeks it means you have 2 weeks each for the first 2 tomes and 3 weeks each for the last 2 tomes.

Just because it might be confusing: The Tomes still stay active and can be completed. But you get access to new Challenges in this Time Period.

  • You need 8000 XPs to get one Tier.

What do you mean with CPU?

  • I play normally. If I am winning too fast, I just let everyone escape after two hooks, more BP for me.

  • It is also annoying on Myers. Sometimes you dont get to stalk at all, then you stalk way to much, resulting in EW3 while miles away from the Survivor.

The sad thing is, that this cap doesn't work at all. When the blood hunt started, I was rank 16 with killer. I got rank 10, 9, and two rank 6 as survivors. This is a gap of 10 ranks to two of them and they were swf. I still don't understand how that still is a thing? I thought they fixed that....

I mean, there is a Cap. And yes, it does not work. But the Screenshot is the Matchmaking as intended.

(As Rank 1 Survivor I also have Rank 10 Killers from time to time... Had also 11 difference one time, which is almost double it should be... So yeah, it does not work 100%, but 6 Ranks is intended)

There is other secret offerings not just moris so surviours can't tell untill they get unhooked and then the tunneling begins

To be fair, 99% of the time it is a Mori and not a Shroud, because Shrouds are actually bad for the Killer.

  • When Red Ranks are not in your Range, Green Ranks are not as well.

This is fine, there is a hard cap of 6 Ranks, even when those Rank 2 Survivors are Rank 1, it works out.

And well, Legion is the easiest Killer to pip or Blackpip with, you can get a 4 man Escape and still at least Blackpip, a 1K can already be a pip...

Keys allow a survivor to escape earlier from a match.

Mory allows a killer to kill a survivor and remove them earlier from the match.

    What’s the difference?

Also, keys can be found in chests relatively easy. If only a killer could find a mory during the game, right?

Both Keys and Moris should be reworked. But, there is a difference between Key and Moris:

Moris can be used at any time (when the Survivor was hooked before), Keys only after a certain amount of Generators. When no Gen is done, the Killer can mori one or more Survivors, but a Key cannot be used at all.

Furthermore, Keys are more rare than Moris, especially because some Killers do not have two Pink Add-Ons, which lead to every Pink Bloodweb Item being an Ebony for them, while the Keys share their spot with things like Syringes, BNPs, Odd Bulbs, etc.

This is also the reason why Ebonies are not as rare as Green Moris.

  • Is "missing my DS" a signature move? If yes, that is the case (but only since Dedicated Servers are live...).

As Killer, if I get a Bullshit Hit (because the Survivor gets sucked back at the window or it is clear that this should not be a hit), I look at the Survivor and the Pallet/Window multiple times.

  • Why should it be balanced for Red Rank Survivors (like many say), but not for Red Rank Killers?

  • I really like it that way, not gonna lie. I would have been disappointed if they would not glow like that.

  • I had no DCs recently when playing Spirit, and no DCs when playing against Spirit. Played like 6 times vs her today, no DCs.

And well, overperforming...Spirit is easy to play. She is low effort, high outcome. I would call that overperforming, when all you need to have is some ears. Like... I have ears.

  • I wish they would disable them. They are not ready yet and it is frustrating, stupid Hits on both sides, Traps are broken (when you want to disarm them you get sucked into them, as well as after placing them...), Myers does not work properly (sometimes I am not allowed to stalk and then suddenly he stalked way too much..), Skill Checks are odd.

Like, yeah, they need their data. But this test should not last any longer.

  • No game will stay scary forever. You can play the Horrorgame where you ######### yourself during the first playthrough 5 times, and you will not be scared anymore.

After you have a few hours on DBD, it is simply not scary.

However, I agree on the visual appearance, the game used to look really good. Now it looks not good at all, playing in Daylight is kinda strange.
