  • This is pure nonsense.

In general, Survivor Challenges are most of the time "do something what wastes time" (Totems cleansing, Unhooks, Healing, etc.) while Killer Challenges are mostly "Play the game normally".

But "play bad" is another Level of stupidity.

yeah but once you've completed your personal one, you can move onto the next personal one - you don't have to wait

    Ok, great.

And I guess, to give progress to the community goal, I have to have the respective challenge active?

  • @Mandy said:

The 30000000 is the Community Challenge, the smaller number underneath is the personal challenge - both the personal and the community goals need to be reached before the reward can be claimed as well.

So basically, when playing these challenges, I just play until I reach my personal goal and then just wait until the community goal has been fulfilled?

    Just killers?

Didn't expect different post from you tbh. You are just reverse tsulan with your one sided posts. No offence, just observation. Same goes for op.

Survivors cannot really ruin Killer games. Survivor toxicity does not really have an impact on the Killer, they can tbag or flashlight-click me, this does not change anything when it comes to my BP-outcome as Killer.

I mean, they can stick to Gens even harder, but this is not really different from normal gameplay.

  • DBD-players complaining about free stuff. You love to see it.

  • @Shaped said:

So playing the game normally is ruining the event?

If I decide to hop on dbd do I have to farm during the event?

    Bwahaha. Good Joke.

The number of Insidious Bubbas I encounter during Events is way higher than normally. Some Killer players just play the game during events to be annoying for the other side. And get a big BP-Bonus due to the Event Offerings.

  • They once said in a japanese Q&A that they want to keep Depipping to have a somewhat skillful element to the Grade System.

However, with the Grades just presenting how much you play, depipping really should go. I have had evenings where I gained 4 Pips in a row, just to lose 4 PIps in a row. Which sucked.

I think they're trying to make the killer role more lucrative with this, as its "easier" to get the reward when playing killer than survivor.

Even more lucrative? They already get way more BPs. And if it is like past events, they will also get way more Event Cakes in their Bloodwebs.

  • If you want to use Pentimento, you should use Plaything instead of Shattered Hope. Way better.

I would not dedicate a Perk Slot to Shattered Hope, because unlike claimed, Boons are not in every game. I mean, you can take Shattered Hope if you really dislike Boons, but I would not use Pentimento as well, because if nobody brings a Boon-Perk, it is at least only one wasted Perk Slot.

It would matter in a LOT of cases if you were running DS with deliverance and had both, that ends up being 20 seconds or more to get to a gate, you can make it to a lot of gates in that amount of time and that's only if your teammates aren't brain dead and stuck around to escort you which does happen it's just completely random in solo que.

Time has nothing to do with it, you took no hook states and should be able to get attempts period, even more so if you have a active deliverance. Even if it was about time they could easily reduce it in half or less to give you adequate time to get three attempts off, 30 seconds would be fine. You just feel robbed to go through the near impossible task of avoiding a hook all game with deliverance then don't get to ######### use it.

Honestly, if you avoid Hooks all game and let your team die while having Deliverance, I dont have any sympathy if you die without getting to use it.

I know in your situation this was not the case, however, I would rather blame your team for leaving than the game for being the way it is. Because yes, in a very specific scenario it matters, but in most cases, it does not matter at all if you have the attempts or not.

  • Yeah, 100% agree. Her grunts of pain and cries when getting hit sound questionable.

  • Honestly, the biggest improvement would be to play in an SWF. Even if you dont want to use Comms, an SWF would be beneficial, because you would filter out Scenario C and D, which helps a lot. I play with one friend and this means that we both have at least one person to rely on. I cannot bring myself to play with 3 randoms anymore, 2 is often enough and still gets you killed (yesterday I had a 12k hours Survivor in my game who played like they had 12 hours).

And yes, matches like this are common, sadly. There are evenings where I dont even pip up a single pip, because I gain 4 Pips and then lose them later. But it is what it is, when you dont play in a 4 man-SWF, you will always have randoms who might drag you down (or sometimes even some who carry you).

  • In 99,9% of the cases, it would not matter, because the Killer would just wait there and slug you once you unhooked yourself. Yes, even if you have Deliverance and DS. You having Deliverance, DS AND being that close to the gate is that 0,1% where it would actually matter.

And honestly, this is not enough to justify a time-waster at the end of the game. Because most of the time the Survivor would be there for one minute not doing anything or trying their unhooks, unhooking themselves, getting slugged for at least one minute... And the result would be the same - they die, just later.

  • Tunneling potential:

Yes, I agree. Increasing the radius of blocked Lockers and making it harder for him to teleport back instantly are good changes. If someone does not tunnel anyway, they also should not impact them.

    Nightfall:

Should be toned down a bit. But only a bit, PTB-Version was too bright. But on some Maps it is really hard to see with NIghtfall, e.g. Red Forest-Maps dont look like they have 18m of Radius.

    Anti-Loop:

Agreed on Bloodlust being cancelled. But I think that this is an Oversight. I am not sure about the Cooldown, I have played against Dredge, but have not played him myself a lot, so I cannot really give any opinion on that one.

  • Since the Survivors dont get kicked out of the Lobby anymore, there is no reason for that. Before, I would have agreed, but now I am against it.

While it is true that another less-skilled Killer might join and have a harder game due to how Matchmaking works, this is a Matchmaking Issue and not an issue with the Lobby.

  • You cannot ######### around with movement speed too much. M1-Killers having Bloodlust 1 all the time is not a good idea. Every unsafe Loop in the game (and those are fair Loops) would be completely unfair, because the Killer will have a very easy time to deal with them. Currently they only become unfair once Bloodlust 1 is reached, so at the very least there were 15 seconds of Looping involved.

Also, a lot of the safe Loops would become less safe. This would lead to shorter chases, which would really shift the balance.

And, last but not least - there is no clear definition what an M1-Killer is. I am very sure that there are different opinions on that one.

But it does not surprise me that this Forum defends Killers being dicks. Classic here.

All that person did was give 2 reasons why a killer might not hook survivors in response to your message nothing more and nothing less so there was no need for you to respond the way you did and saying "But it does not surprise me that this Forum defends Killers being dicks. Classic here."

Should we start listing how many times survivors have defended survivors being dicks, if you don't want people to respond to your comment with simple and nice answers just for you to turn around and say they are defending killers being dicks then don't comment on a topic which is going to leave you open for people to answer back on why survivors/killers might do it with out going after you or the role involved.

At nearly 12k post on this forum you should be leading by example on how to respond to comments with out turning back to they gave a good answer while being polite so i'm just going to sink to calling them defending the role in topic dicks.

This is not the first post where a Killer slugged Survivors to death for no reason. But all the time people are making up reasons.

No Hooks? Might be possible, but for 3 Survivors? Eh, doubt it.

Unhooks/Deliverance? Wait in front of the Hook and slug them (and nobody can tell me that this would be a problem).

And I am surprised that it did not come up yet: "You dont know what the Survivors were doing, maybe they were toxic!!111"....

Sometimes players just do it to be annoying. No other reason.

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

Why do survivors stand in the exit gate area when they have nothing to do?

Same thing and it happens alot. It just wastes everyone's time.

A Killer can force them out tho. This takes seconds and not full 4 minutes.

    • Deliverance or random self unhook
    • Not enough hooks in that area so survivor could wiggle off

I give you the "no hooks". But Deliverance or random self Unhooks are poor reasons. Because you can just wait on the Hook and slug them again.

But it does not surprise me that this Forum defends Killers being dicks. Classic here.

  • How can this Thread have 3 pages?

The correct answer is: No. And think before you are posting. Nothing more is needed, seriously, how can this even be a discussion?

  • @Tostapane said:

well, the point of playing killer is killing the survivors, doesn't matter how... as far as i know, slugging is the best way to get a win (especially if you have a killer that can ignore survivor's defenses like nurse), you don't have to deal with perks like BT or DS, people won't focus on doing gens cause they are too busy to revive each other and the killer won't waste the time to hook someone (also no chances to get a "4%" since you didn't hooked anyone)... is this scummy? yes. is it effective? one of the best strategies that a killer can do. is it allowed? yes.

Once you have all Survivors slugged, there is 0 reason to not hook them. Except if you want to be annoying.

  • Sometimes people just like to be dicks. This is one example.

  • Its fine. This way you see the animations more often without Moris being too strong.

  • Yes. And it is super-annoying.

Good Survivors can outplay Dredge like it's nothing. He can boil down to a pure M1 killer in a lot of chases. It's just a skill issue right now.

You dont have to be a good Survivor to run to the next Loop. Everyone can do that. And while this is the best thing you can do against Dredge, it does not mean that it is a good thing to boil down most Killers to "hold Shift and W against them".

  • @Zozzy said:

The lowbies are already targeting him because they can't just drop a pallet and spam crouch.

It will happen and nobody will touch him just like every other killer....

"The lowbies"... Not sure if someone who complains that much about the game and showing that they cannot really play it on a good level should call others "lowbies".

And sorry, there is nothing exciting about Dredge-gameplay at all. Yes, dropping a Pallet and teabagging does not work. But Shift + W is not really the way to go for all Killers in the future.

  • @Slowpeach said:

Yeah I think because IRC Nurse has one of the worst kill rates it's considered as 'fine' but reading into numbers and statistics incorrectly would not surprise me. They are really useful tools for sure but understanding the reason for them is vital otherwise they do more harm then good. I really don't know how they come to their conclusions but I think that's a good guess.

I have seen worse conclusion making before though where I honestly believed a developer was throwing darts at a board to determine what was changed and whether it was nerfed or buffed.

Nah, the Devs dont only look at Data. Nurse is a good example, her Killrate was the lowest before they nerfed her (adding Recharge-Mechanic, nerfing Add Ons) a few years ago. And still they nerfed her, which shows that they dont go by numbers alone.

However, a broken concept stays broken. The only way to make Nurse not broken would be to either rework her or nerf her into the ground, and I guess everyone would prefer the first option.

  • @legacycolt said:

They’re probably scared of the outcry of nurse mains.

    ^ this.

For some reason people think that Nurse being difficult to learn is a justification for her being broken. However, IMO the difficulty is hugely exaggerated, she is the hardest Killer to learn, but it is not that difficult.

But yeah, the Devs being scared is probably the reason why Nurse is that one broken thing from the past which is allowed to exist.

  • You should know that it will change:

    @killer998 said:

Playing the Dredge of course and I love him to bits. But, I hate, HATE, his bloodwebs.

Level 30 and not a single gen defense perk. The struggle is very real atm. Only 1 purple perk and the rest green. We should able to choose a perk every 10 bloodwebs or something. And perk levels need to GO.

Theres so many perks in the game it's killing me right now.

Honestly, at least read your own threads instead of just opening them to complan and then never look at them again.

  • @ProudRinMain said:

yeah i know, just really impressed that spirit has a model when she’s phasing

This is true. Really noticeable with Nurse for example.

  • Every Killer has a 3rd person model which is used on their side to display the game. The camera is just placed into first person. You can see this when you look at her arms, they are much higher to align with the first person view of the Killer.

There was a bug some time ago where you would see the third person-model in the camera rotation at the start of the game. Some look somewhat normal, others really strange:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmcEJD9IAEQ

  • Number of reasons:

    • The Dredge is not new anymore. It happens all the time that the rate a new Killer is picked decreases drastically over the first few days.
    • Not many people want to really unlock a lot of stuff on them. I will also just bring them to P3 and then only touch them after the Bloodweb-Change.
    • Biggest reason for me personally: I just dislike Killers with that kind of Antiloop. You shut down the Loop and the Survivor uses Shift + W to get away (what should they do? They have to...), so you never catch someone because you actually outplayed them, you catched them, because Killers are better at Shift + W than Survivors, due to their faster Movement Speed. Yay, exciting!
  • @InvadeGames said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2995844#Comment_2995844

ok, and i can confirm it doesnt work for me. Zero instamnt regression. No flash animation which i know is supposed to occur and no sparks to indicate regression either. Even on gens that barely have anything on it, a pop kick should make it go silent. it does not.

Just tried it. PGTW worked perfectly fine, one piston stopped moving completely and another one was going slower. So I kicked away 25% of Progress.

So you might want to start a Bug Report and give more information than in this Thread. Maybe it is bugged on some Killers, on Wraith it works totally fine.

  • Because Killers always say that the game is not over when 5 Gens are done, but for some reason when it comes to DS, it should be deactivated - but the game is not over, why should it be deactivated? The Killer can still tunnel in the Endgame. And it is not really the Survivors fault if the Killer has no other option in Endgame.

IF the Devs ever nerf DS further, they should really, really buff the Anti-Tunneling ability of the Perk. To make it really impactful so that a Killer really does not want to go after a freshly unhooked Survivor at all. Because currently, DS is a Joke, especially against the strongest Killers. A Blight or Nurse just has a good laugh and downs you a few seconds later.

  • When using Pop Goes the Weasel you have to look at the pistons. 1 piston are 25% of the Gen, so if one of them stops working, this means that PGTW works.

From my perspective as a Survivor (I dont run PGTW as Killer), it works fine. I also got hit by Oppression as Survivor since the Patch.

It does make them more brave with an open profile because most of the toxic weirdos are beta as hell. Irl they are that guy getting annoyed but too afraid to speak up. On the internet, they are finally free to be who they really are without the fear of a pimp smack.

Ah yes. The bravest people are those who dont keep their Steam Private. And who keeps their steam profile private is not able to speak up in Real Life.

    Sure...

  • We will talk again once they nerfed DH and you go against Sprint Burst the majority of the time.

I haven't seen those videos so thanks for pointing them out. If this is really the case, why is it not addressed? I have had a match I have lost in 5 minutes before when not playing a top tier killer from gen rush and out. I even hooked 2 people at the same time and still lost in 5 minutes.

Those videos are not really worth at all.

They were a bunch of really good players. And went against random Killers. This is like saying that the game is entirely killersided, because players like Dowsey or Otz have large winstreaks on their Killer. Does not work out, because not every Killer is Dowsey or Otz. And not every Survivor is Marth + friends.

Also, the videos are so old, a lot has changed since then.

As long as you are not completely out of reality, you should just ignore the "Depip-Squad", it is nonsense which is brought up all the time, but it is not relevant at all.

  • @FushionCactus said:

Do you still get the bloody set after the changes?

    Yes.

  • I would not expect that the Prestige Reward is something significant. Could be some ingame-Overlay just for you or even just some Iri Shards. Dont expect too much.

So if you can wait with prestiging, do it afterwards.

  • Clearly outclassed by Sprint Burst and Dead Hard. And probably Lithe as well.

But it is probably better than Balanced Landing, Head On or Smash Hit - but this is not difficult...

  • "is this the reason for the double pip? the stack-able bloodpoints."

Nah. BPs dont have anything to do with Pipping.

But the System is a bit flawed in general. E.g. if you Chainsaw a lot with Billy, you might get punished. Meanwhile, Legion is basically impossible to depip and very easy to pip for some reason.

  • Ranks are not used for Matchmaking anymore. So there is 0 reason to keep them in the Tally Screen. In fact, Grades (which is the actual term) are just confusing in the Tally Screen.

  • She needs a complete Rework.

It is not really understandable how people can be fine with Nurse in the game, when she is clearly a concept from a time where the Devs did not really care about balance at all. Insta-Heals, old BNPs (which completed a full Gen), No-Hook Moris, REAL Infinites, no Exhaustion-Mechanic, DS on pickup are all things which were from this time and all have been nerfed. Except for Nurse, she is allowed to stay in this game while clearly being broken.

And I mean, an Add On-Nerf would help a bit, but it would not really change much. Nurse is a Killer who does not even need Add Ons in the first place, her power would still be broken. And meanwhile it would not be worth to put any points in her, because all her Add Ons would be quite bad if we remove Range and Recharge.

And I would rather have a strong Killer who is not broken with decent Add Ons than a broken Killer with Joke-Add Ons.

You're right. I'm not fooling anyone. I never intend to. I think I was being very fair as to not suggest only making the pride charms optional to visibility in the game. That is why I suggested making the option for all charms visible for the individual. Isn't that fair? Anyway, I'll probably make my own thread about this at some point because this is just needless derailment.

If I were you, I would not do this. I think you damaged your reputation more than enough already.

Also... "I was being very fair"... Sound just wrong.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2989402#Comment_2989402

What does my suggestion of optional charm visibility take from you or anyone? That is the whole point of optional. I have no option to not see pride charms in nearly every match I play. The only option I have is to not play the game and I don't want to do that because I love this game. People of faith play this game, as well as many diverse walks of life. I think the option to disable charm visibility would be inclusive for those who don't want to see them and it takes nothing away from you.

It takes away the chance of reporting people who complain about the charm in a very rude way. I have had Killers openly telling me that they tunneled me due to my Pride-Charm and Survivors saying that it is a disgrace to get hooked on Hooks with the Charm.

I happily report those. And making Charms optional would take this away from me.

  • It will be changed.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Thank you for making this charm optional.

    Every Charm is optional.

  • The players who use Aura Reading-Perks the most are SoloQ-Players. Bond, Kindred, Windows of Opportunity are all Perks which are not really used by SWFs. Especially the first two.

Adding Killer Abilities which make it harder/annoying for Solos to play but affect SWFs less is not really a good thing.

  • I almost never use Map Offerings. But in general, if I want a "normal" game, I would just pick MacMillan.

If I have the Broken Ankles-Challenge, I pick Haddonfield. And for stuff which involves to be 10m near a Killer, I just pick The Game or Midwich.

And as Killer, I only pick a Map if I have a specific Build for it, mostly Lerys for Stealth Killers. For Pallet-breaking Challenges I used to pick Hawkins, but this is not a thing anymore.
