I'm on a diet so I ordered a little bit of everything 3 times.
3 times because there's an offer which makes it really cheap.
12 inch X 3 pizzas for about £13

Everyone plays as Claudette. The killer can be any killer but their player model will also be Claudette.
20 players, 19 Claudette survivors and 1 killer with claudettes model.

Imagine if in the movies Freddy or Myers just gives up chasing someone just because they feel guilty for 'being interpreted as toxic'
Toxic, camper, tunneller they are all convenient labels to blanket your frustration in a nothing argument.

Ok would then camping the hatch as a stealth wraith or mirror myers to stomp it for a easy noed class as it or just using old tricks in a new way
As long as you give the survivor a choice, if they choose without thinking then make them pay for it how you like. They fell for the trick and that's non toxic.

Would me using mirror myers count as toxic because I run dead rabbit if it's vanity mirrors but I just keep getting people rage quitting because everyone I hook I quickly scan the area and I go after close by or set traps neck my last game today saw a aura before I left basement had a check about to find them found them in a locker because no aura is that toxic and campy or just smart playing?
Utilising what you have is smart.
Toxicity is generally used too widely to excuse them of making mistakes or not being able to overcome what strategy or set up you have.
Some builds and killers are op but you play to their weaknesses to get the best chance of escape. Too many play dumb and point the finger away from thier own ignorance.

What makes me toxic is the mechanics BHVR puts in the game that allow me to be toxic, while we sit here and say it is a "legit playstyle".
So you think people play in a toxic way... because they can?
I mean you're kinda right but you shouldn't be.
-
Someone down voted my post that's toxic.
Except it's not it's just opinion. But do you feel people's perception of toxicity contributes towards making the game more toxic? Especially with all the harassment and bullying that can happen when they are adamant you played unfairly or in a unsportsmanlike and toxic way.

Big head survivors Vs Huntress
When Huntress hits a survivor with a hatchet the survivor is infected and must scavange for ingredients to make s cure before they are killed by the infection.
Huntress cannot M1 but base station speed is a normal killers.
Huntresses job is to defend 3 capture points. If 2 of them are captured the gates become powered and end game starts.
Each capture point takes 30 seconds to capture. Survivors respawn when gates are powered as zombies to help bodyblock remaining survivors getting hit by hatchet.
Every remaining survivor is revealed for 5 seconds every 10 seconds in the endgame.
I dunno, something like that would be good
-
Honestly a survive the night mode where killers have no terror radius but their breathing is loud and directional. 1 v 8. Aim is to not be dead by daylight.
Maybe you can find the 3 key pieces and craft a key at a workstation to make a key to escape the hatch when time is up.
-
Timer should be longer if it a solo survivor with at least 2 gens done.
-
I think it would be insane if they merged a couple of maps together and have a survival mode with 2 killers having to last 10 minutes, instadown on M1 hit and killer power is disabled, unless it's used for mobility.

The only thing that will kill DBD is DBD.
Healthy competition is good for the community and the game. Right now DBD has none.. so we are left with piles of bugs that go untouched for what seems like forever - and we allow it because there is nothing on the market like this worthwhile playing. Competition would force them to rectify the bugs before the community moves on to its competitor.
I would agree but everything else thats been up being compared is also very buggy. Some variety goes a long way. Add a dbd battle royale mode, it would be the best thing in years because we've been craving another game mode since near release.
I'm sure there's better ideas better than battle royale, it's just an example before anyone gets triggered

If the game releases in a working condition that has a lot of content and a well balanced and fun gamemode/gamemodes, DvD should be scared since the only thing that can save this game at this point is some fresh new base content. Not another Garbo killer with Garbo perks on each side with a map everyone will complain about.
DbD needs a new gamemode badly.
I agree but dbd still put some good stuff out in chapters and updates. Just need to focus on game modes badly as you say.

Illfonic was a major part of that failure. I'm sure Bhvr is really losing sleep over losing some players for a couple of weeks until players find and abuse game breaking glitches.
You do know that people still abuse the roof glitch in F13 THAT EXISTED AT LAUNCH.
I've not seen any abuse of glitches recently. In fact F13 has addressed a lot if not all bugs and glitches known.
-
A big part of Fridays success was how broken and buggy it was. I had a blast spinning off the map when Jason smashed the car, floating in the air driving a boat and abusing glitches to bully Jason with friends.
Plus role playing was fun too.

I don't see how one will impact the other at all. I actually don't see how the Predator game will have any longevity. Granted we haven't seen much but there's only so many times I want to play as or against the predator, you know?
You say that yet we have a game that's been the same since release. Do 5 gens escape. That's it. Predator can't really be much dryer than what dbd has been gameplay wise.
Illfonic if they were smart will focus on exciting game modes to have that variety that dbd has been missing.

Predator what?
Predator Hunting Grounds is a asymmetric style game coming to PS4. It might have a lot of similarities with dbd, unknown as if yet. We know it's a shooter.

Why does everyone think something will kill dbd and 'we need to do something'?
We're not going to sabotage games (At least I won't) and there's no point making a thread about it.
I stated numourous times that Predator HG will not kill dbd. If you want to create an argument over a lie you make then I wouldn't trust your opinion in this thread.
Dbd has lacked variety from day 1, the only additions are killers survivor reskins, maps cosmetics and balance changes. More needs to be done.
And just to defeat your point. If Predator HG is decent I will play dbd less as would many others unless there is incentive to continue playing dbd all the time.
Seems like you don't acknowledge what desperately needs to be done.

It was also relatively rare to encounter the same person again. I don't know the current state of F13's player base though.
Figures are surprisingly hard to get ahold of. My Google is only able to see articles comparing the two.

Something else worth pointing out.
He says powers. He has obviously been working closely with the Devs as he knows about the stalk power and the exposed power of ghostygoo.
The way he phrases content seems like it's a package of stuff and not just old ghosty himself.

@Theshape94 Because we couldn't possibly get Ghostface paragraph then a chapter ptb a few weeks later?...
Like with ash and mid chapter.
Why is Ghostface getting the purchase bonus skin if its a chapter? Survivors always get the purchase bonus cosmetic for full chapters.
My guess is we will get 2 killers back to back in under a month. Ghostface then a unique chapter killer.
The rights owner for GhostFace was/is a fan of dbd and probably wants to give variety in GF cosmetics. More willing than the license owners for the survivor.

There was no bio leaked but that definetely exists.

So, don't get your hopes up.
Next original killer is a rip off of Baldi the teacher. It's a joke...but if you know who that is... it's actually a surprisingly good concept.

The pipping system is totally not groovy right now. Like I've been playing chilled out and not trying a little bit and it's almost like I'm deranking every game because the pipping system has stupid requirement which contradict what a killer is supposed to do.

I've been playing leather face and getting easy 4ks, every match is a safety. I try to play normally and get 3 and 1 escape through hatch and that's a depip. Makes no sense.

Dbd isn't going to 'die' anytime soon. Probably still be doing well in 8+ years when no more work is being done and bhvr are working on their next project.
Also Freddy can't hold a controller to play Predator HG anyways

Tbf, Wraith is pretty much a Predator rip off.
I think all 3 original Killers were based off of an existing one actually.
Maybe our Predator rip off could be a more advanced wraith with a cloaking power. Blast attack and infrared tracking ability.

I think an Aliens Chapter is a matter of when not if. It's a major horror franchise and would be hype. I know the devs have said no animal killers but they also said such things like no Clowns, no Switch port, and no dedicated servers. The devs can change their mind.
A few people are very against that idea. I think they're lieing to themselves honestly. Would be the perfect chapter offering so much to dbd. The people against that say things like "doesn't fit Xenomorph too strong" and "How does it follow the entitys orders" I've explained all the answers in another thread. Also a Xenomorph model is humanoid as in it has arms legs torso and head, meaning it wouldn't be too hard to animate (Devs word).
-
@Okapi said:
A Predator would work easier than an Xenomporph for DbDs gameplay. Give them two powers: a cloaking-tracking ability and a lazer wrist blaster. He'd be a cross between Wraith and Huntress. Though I'd still prefer an Xenomorph because the Aliens franchise does delve into horror whereas the Predator films have always been cheesy (and mediocre outside of the first one) action films.
Where were you when I was posting a thread saying how amazing an Alien chapter would be? 😄

There's only one license holder. In terms of a predator ripoff, I'd rather see DbD create something more original since those tend to be their strongest design concepts. The development team is super creative on that front but when they try to emulate preexisting killers they end up being lackluster at best.
If we have a Predator like killer in dbd and it's better or different from the Predator in Predator HG then there is a massive slap in the face to Predator HG. Predator Predator.
-
It's good to discuss this topic. We will see what news we hear about Predator HG and we can discuss further when more is revealed.
-
Dbd could create it's own Predator killer rip off with more customisation shortly after the initial Predator HG hype settles to resnatch players back.
Idea- if there are multiple license owners for Predator, get a different one to the Predator HG license then we have Predator in dbd.
-
You know what the easy solution for this is
obtain the Predator license for dbd *cough cough* Did anyone hear anything? No hmm nevermind then.
-
My point is
Have you ever played F13?
If you have, Why wasn't you playing dbd?
Dbd lost an active player when you were playing F13.
Same case when Predator HG comes out too.
-
Whatever you think, I think the Devs will keep their eyes peeled on how Predator HG pans out.
Could even steal a few of their ideas to improve dbd. Dbd needs a new game mode at the bare minimum before 2020. I believe they are probably working on it now. It's just makes the games health so much better having that extra chunk of something to do.
-
If Predator HG is decent and it does stay on ps4. That isn't bad news. Sure you will lose some dbd players to Predator HG but you would attract more and if you are more able to retain new players then that is a success.
Retention is vital and Predator HG may be an opportunity to attract new players.
Also no-one knows what dlc/base game content will be in Predator HG. They could have the terminator, Alien, originally made stuff and others. They will develop too if they start right.
-
@Boss said:
Well i immediately see 2 downsides to it. (At least, they're downsides to me personally.)
- It's completely based on 1 license. There's no room for originality besides within the license's own lore, and there's not gonna be any other licenses involved.
- It's a shooter. I'm soooo incredibly bored of those. My favorite one is Left 4 Dead 2 with mods, but i haven't played that in months.
I hope the absolute best for them, but i'm not a fan.
I'm actually scared for them it'll be another F13, or worse, DeadGarden.
I actually thought deathgarden was a good game but it didn't get any traction so no one knew it even existed.
-
Sentence them to 2 minutes of mashing the struggle button. If they let go the 2 minutes resets.
-
Those of you saying I'm saying that "dbd is going to die" Can you stop putting words in my mouth? I never said that.
You're ignoring what work needs to be done in order for dbd to hold it's ground if Predator HG isn't a floppy mess.
-
@Orion said:

F13th flopped before the lawsuit. It had a weaker launch than DbD and kept losing players every day.
Anyway, as someone else mentioned, they're different games. The release of Rise of Industry also wasn't a threat to DbD because the games are different.
Even if that's so, Illfonic may have learned from their mistakes and are having another shot with years of planning to go up against dbd.
I have a PS4 and if Predator HG is at least ok I will try it out, as will many other current dvd players I believe.
I'm simply saying, this could be a wake up call to address the playerbases concern with variety.
We need new game modes, customisable kyf matches, anything else which pleases the playerbase. Because dbd needs to keep a close eye on Predator HG.
-
I don't have the figures but I've seen factual proof that dbd fails at keeping it's players. It does well attracting new players but there's always too many players just getting fed up with the one game mode and problems which plague the game.
-

Give it a rest please... There's nothing to fear. Friday didn't killer DBD, Last Year: The Nightmare didn't kill DBD, I HIGHLY doubt this will kill DBD.
Have you been living under a rock?
They all flopped apart from Friday which got into hot water over the rights of Jason.
Predator HG is the next threat to the playerbase. We must press the issue so something can be done.
-
Predator HG seems like a big budget deathgarden with the capacity to deliver more The asymmetric nature of Predator HG will surely attract a lot of dbd players.
This could be dbd biggest rival in the future, Dbd has until 2020 to get this game right in terms of variety and player retention. They can do it but only if they recognise this may become a problem if not addressed.
Predator HG could be a decent game, it could eventually come to all platforms. It would give the asymmetric genre more traction which would benefit dbd, but dbd players will stop playing dbd and play Predator HG instead if nothing changes.

Playing a match with a DC influences team performance.
