How does it kill 4 people?
Or is it the taking it down to 3v1 before game end results in higher 4k chance being the indirect effect?
I mean I've never encountered it but if I did after failing to remove the trap I'd probably complete as much objective as I could to help my team escape then let my head pop and laugh it off before queing again because hey, its only a game who gives a #########.
In their fantasy land where a less than 16% chance to get all keys in the same box means it happens all the time.

Just as survivors should play killer to see what the necessity of tunneling looks like, killers should play say...10 games in a row as survivor. Perhaps take notes on the things you felt and how likely you were to keep cueing up. Just sayin' and I've been saying since the beginning...the game as is has had surprising longevity, given the type of feelings it invokes. I think the game could easily last another 5 years. I've played since day one on console and I still try to play a couple times a week.
Never played a game this long. The only impediment to playing is gen rush and tunneling. No, it isn't simply a matter of "getting better at chases". When in solo cue, I am frequently unhooked directly in front of campasaurus without borrowed time. Not once but immediately again.
I play killer...a lot. It has been a struggle but I haven't camped or tunneled in over two years. I realize I will never get better or even grow the community by playing like that. They want to rush gens and force that play style in me? I'll open the gate for them. Put a distance between myself and them with mmr. The perks killers have available now, make it so tunneling is unnecessary. I don't play high mmr though. Nor do I want to.
I play survivor over 80% of the time. Feel free to see my response earlier in the thread.
-
I always wonder if people who complain this hard about "tunneling" ever played any other multiplayer pvp team based games before. Certainly they don't play as support, lol.
Seriously, you want to get rid of tunneling, there's one and only one real fix that won't be abusable from either side.
Get rid of hook states. Once you get hooked the first time, that's it. You die, the match proceeds with the surviving survivors.
I know, I know, seems unfair right? Well, the truth is, tunneling isn't real. It's just being efficient at your objectives as killer. As I alluded to above, every team based multiplayer pvp game has some form of focusing down a single target. Generally that target is a healer or support. Only in this game is there a special name to let people feel like they are being victimized, when in reality they just lost a video game. As survivor you are given multiple tools to assist you in staying alive even while the focus of the killer's attention, however they take skill and basic levels of teamwork to use effectively, which is where there seems to be a disconnect between player and game. (I know, I know, you cant have teamwork without a headset right? Despite the fact that i literally played team based mp games for over a decade before voice comms were even a thing in gaming, and still rarely use one in any game now, apparently it's the only way now)
If you are not exaggerating and really find yourself the first on a hook, and the first to die that often, then as much as it sucks to hear or read, the only real fix is to get better at evading the killer. (And make sure you aren't dressing your character in bright pink or something, makes it way easier to find you)

What I took issue with was your assumption that everyone who pointed out that many business don't work a tradition Mon to Fri must be children who don't have families nor understand how the world works.
Anyway, I'll leave it at that as I don't disagree with any of your other points.

Also, that wasn't directed at anyone who would disagree, just those immature people actually demanding that people drop their family and personal obligations and work weekends just because a perk is a bit broken for a couple days in a single video game.

Man I love when people make baseless assumptions. I worked many, many years for a large police organisation for their IT department. So I was basing my opinions how that worked.

Green is ok, I've heard. It's a color I can't actually see. Ditto for orange, lol.
So you are basing whether or not software developers should work split shifts to immediately Killswitch small issues with perks on your work in IT for an organization that by design has to run effectively 24/7 or people could literally die? And you don't see how maybe those aren't exactly comparable situations? Again, their actual IT probably does come in weekends when needed, software devs don't. Wonderful thing about games. Worst case you can just play a different game, nobody even gets hurt.
-
Man I love when a bunch of kids with no families to be responsible for, no experience running a big project and no experience scheduling (outside of retail) come around to tell everyone how it should be, lol.
Seriously.
1. Split shifts. Clearly some form of that already happens for actual emergencies (like say, the servers being down) having half your dev team spend 4 days working alone is a recipe for horrible team communication, and at best will only massively slow down development cycles. At worst you end up with 2 teams who aren't talking doing different things to "fix" the game, some of which will break what the other is doing.
Split schedules work for retail, support and anywhere else that customers have to be dealt with without making any real changes to the product. When you are building or maintaining a complex system, you need team communication far more than you do 7 day availability.
2. Good luck getting an adult with kids to agree to sacrifice every weekend for that. Sure when you're 20 something and your biggest commitment is the weekly club night, it's no big. When you're 40 and looking at giving up the only 2 days you have to spend time with your family and do things together? Entirely different story.
3. You know why you want to have the decision to kill switch be handled by higher ups? Because if your support staff can do it, they'll end up kill switching whatever they hear a complaint about, even if that complaint isn't valid, true, etc just to finish the support ticket.
Seriously, look what happened when they gave wow support the ability to give items to players. For the whole 2 months it was active you could just open a ticket in a dungeon, swear you saw a specific piece of loot but it got bugged, and voila, it's in your mailbox. That ######### was abused so badly that had those items cost blizzard even a penny each, the company would have gone bankrupt.
4. The ooo bug really isn't an emergency. At worst it's currently giving people the same info they would have with a good swf. It's annoying, but nothing so bad that fixing it can't wait until Monday. If it wasn't for streamers literally walking their viewers through exploiting it, you likely wouldn't have even noticed.
Nurse? I think by now it's safe to say the last thing you want to do is work on nurse in haste. Also, since she's been brought back, there have been so many people complaining that they have to face her, that I wouldn't at all be surprised to find they are also submitting false bug reports just to try and get her kill switched again. That's not to say she's working perfectly, but her current bugs will take time to suss out fully if we want them fixed correctly.
5. Lastly, it's been 6 years. Can we please stop pretending that things they've been doing as a company since before the game was even made are suddenly"killing the game" now? For one, the reports of DbD's demise are greatly exaggerated without a ton of real evidence. (Oh wow, there was a massive population spike on steam when it went on sale and released Resident Evil characters? It's almost like RE is a massively popular franchise that got people to take a look or something) and for two, if there is a sudden population drop, it's more likely to be due to a recent change rather than a policy that has been in place the entire life of the game.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk. If you read to the end go ahead and tell me your favorite color, and why it's purple.

This is a pointless exchange, because BHVR do not classify 'holding the game hostage' in the same way as you, and they get to set the rules for their game.
They've expressly said that facecamping, while something they want to eliminate, is not against the rules. But holding the game hostage is. Thus, the two have a different definition - as others in this thread have explained to you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2847765#Comment_2847765
There are still defacto infinites against certain killers.
How was 'actual' facecamping removed, exactly?
It's not nearly the same as the old infinites of 2016, those were trash.
Also trash? You had to be exactly in front of the hook to save teammates, meaning any killer could literally hook someone, then sit in that spot and go afk. That's what facecamping actually is/was. They fixed it, so that can't happen, you can unhook from any angle, and people actually have to defend the hook, rather than standing afk. (Which is why I think it's a good fix for the pig camping a single box thing)

Play support in Overwatch. If the other team has any clue what they are doing, a good half your time will be running back from the spawn points. Just how pvp works

Cuz I've been seeing a whole lot of "killers have to camp/tunnel to win" and "survivors need to gen rush to win", but you seem to believe these are nonsensical hissyfits made by entitled parties.
More or less, yes. We don't have infinite decisive and loops, actual facecamping was removed years ago. People don't come to this forum Happy. They generally come here after having a few bad games, so it tilts the entire environment here. The biggest real issue with the game, imo is that the matchmaking prioritizes queue times instead of even matches, fix that and it's all good

"game" meaning actual PLAYING the source of entertainment you have paid for and have currently turned on.
A survivor can't do NOTHING when you're being camped. Prove to me otherwise.
By that logic hooking a survivor at all would be taking the game hostage for them. As they have the exact same level of agency whether or not the killer is there. Just hanging out.
Also yes, a survivor most certainly can do nothing. I'm assuming you meant to type "A survivor can't do anything" which again, isn't dependent on whether the killer is there or not.

Then is gen rushing a made-up phenomenon created by entitled killers?
I mean your words go both ways you know.
Yes. Yes it is
All 3 are nonsense terms made by people who want to blame their loss on their opponents somehow playing "unfairly" because they didn't follow some made up rules.
Tunneling, in any other team based multiplayer game is just focusing down a player. Sometimes that's because they're the healer, sometimes it's just because they're the best one on their team. Only here do people claim they have a right not to be focused down by the opposing side.
Camping is defending a killer objective. The killer is there to kill. This isn't the same as spawn camping in mp games, as the rescue Mechanics are literally built in. In any other game with a "prisoner" mechanic, you'll find them to be guarded. The smart move is generally to slam the gens out, which leads to nonsense term 3.
Genrushing is a term that was originally made in jest, until some people started taking it seriously. There's no reason not to do the gens as quickly as possible, unless you suspect noed and want time to count totems. However that, much like tunneling and camping, is purely a subjective tactical decision made by the players involved.

I literally said that it halts the game for another individual in the past two posts. So... I think I know the older version of the term correctly.
I think I used the term wrong for DBD though. My mistake and lesson learned.
Except it doesn't halt the game. Part of the game, as survivor, is being on a hook, and possibly dying. Whether you go through the hook states all at once or in separate parts, the timer still moves, nothing is halted.

Just like when a Killer 3-Gens the Survivors they cry out that the killer is holding the game hostage because they won't leave the gens to chase anyone.
At least in that case (even though it is also not holding anything hostage) the gens are being blocked. Camping a hook does literally nothing to stop the game from progressing.
-
So wait, camping a hook (which leads to the survivor dying and the match continuing) is now somehow"holding the game hostage"? I don't think those words mean what you think they do.
The game is "held hostage" when neither side is able to move forward on their objectives at all (like say when a wraith wants to body block a survivor or couple survivors in a corner where they can't move, and refuses to down them)
Camping very much allows for both sides to continue their objectives, in fact, the best way for survivors to deal with camping killers is to FOCUS on their objectives. So by definition of both the game rules and common sense, camping isn't at all, in any way, holding the game hostage. The survivor on the hook will go through hook stages as normal, and the other survivors can finish the gens and leave.
I get it, it's fun to throw out phrases like "holding hostage" and "exploit" because there's something one side does that you dislike, however I would remind you the fastest way to lose an argument is to overstate it.

Mind gaming, backtracking during blink. Juke+slow vault. There are literally thousands of posts made here from people, videos all over the internet. In the information age, ignorance is a choice.
-
Remember, If you intentionally die on the hook because the killer camped, the only "lesson" you are teaching that killer is that camping works, as it makes survivors get rid of themselves.
The real fix to camping? Same as the one for tunneling. Realize that life isn't fair, some days you're the dog, other days you're the fire hydrant. Killers playing this way as a general rule aren't doing so out of any hate or anything, just the logistics of the game making it far easier for them to win the sooner they get to a 2 or 3v1 scenario.
The game starts with everything favoring survivors. They have lots of health states, items that are fully charged, and just about the entire map they could logically be. Winning as killer is all about trying to get that pendulum in your favor as quickly as possible. Camping or tunneling out a single survivor is the most effective and efficient way to do just that.

-
No. I won't be satisfied until we have twice as many killers as we do Survivors! Not even options either, I want matches where 4 survivors have to face 8 killers!!! And they have to fix 10 gens to escape out of one of 14 gates!
-
Didn't you ask for your account to be deleted 2 days ago? Couldn't stay away, eh?
-
I agree, killers should have to earn noed the same way survivors earn dead hard. By losing a chase.
Or maybe the way they earn decisive Strike. By losing 3 chases.
Remind me again, why exactly are we trying to make one side "earn" perks? Especially when those perks can, in fact be stopped from ever activating already?

I guess I should have specified that I meant camping the first player hooked ASWELL as every subsequent player hooked.
If the team has shown to be very altruistic, it's the easy way to keep them all off of gens, slowing their progress tremendously without having to really sweat, just letting them come to you.
-
Quick and easy test to see how altruistic the survivors are early on, when you can adjust your playstyle accordingly. Also, frankly, the quicker you get to a 3v1 situation, the better the match goes.
-
I don't get triggered by survivors using perks. That's just asinine. I get there is a lot of hate for DH, but at a certain point people have got to stop acting like the perk slipped into your house and slapped your momma. It's a ######### perk, not the end of the world (of DbD)
-
You didn't play back in the infinite loop days, eh?
Seriously, the maps now, even rph, are better than that mess.
Also plenty of maps have over time screwed survivors as well. I think it's far more likely that creating a balanced DbD map is super difficult, especially with the RNG factor, meaning that the devs aren't creating fully curated maps where everything is placed by hand (like say, in overwatch) and instead giving the system a few instructions on what bits fit together and letting it come up with something at will. Sometimes that system goes too far to one side or the other, rarely is it ever exactly even.
-

Cool, so he's camping a single totem, instead of a hooked survivor? So then you can all just leave out the gate and let him keep his totem. Or are we to believe this is some magic camping method that allows a killer to camp the totem as well as both gates at the exact same time?

Ok lets take your point of view and say it is punishing survivor's mistake.
1- what was the mistake? Not searching the map for 5 dull totems? And what if they did search but weren't able to find it? Should they just keep running arround and get picked out 1 by one? Its not like totems have a bat signal on them.
2- Is the punishment fair? Can a perma exposed, usually acompannied by a timer and a facecamp be considered a fair punishment?
1. Basic situational awareness while you're running around looking for gens will allow you to find most of the totems. Add to that the boon meta meaning they're rarely five Dull totems on the map for long in any match, meaning if you were to go looking for dull totems halfway through the match you'd only really have to look for two or three. Also you only have to destroy every dull totem if you want to completely stop the hex from activating at all. It is at this point that I would like to mention in case you've forgotten that this is the only perk in the game that can be removed by the actions of the opposing side before it has a chance to take any effect whatsoever. The process for completely removing a perk before it has any chance to have any effect on the game, in my opinion, should take a decent amount of effort to accomplish, more than just removing a hex after it has started up.
2. Is it fair after it activates? Absolutely. The killer can't chase all of you at the same time, and at that point you can counter noed by cleansing a single totem that has been helpfully lit up for your convenience. You aren't Perma exposed, you are exposed until you take out a single totem, on a map that by that point in the game, you should know fairly well from traversing it all match. And as much as I hate to beat the same drum, with boons as popular as they are, you're looking at 2-3 possible totems it could be on. That's at worst, a 33% chance of finding the right one first.
Anyway, the idea that it's punishing a survivor's mistake isn't just the point of view of a few forum posters, it is actually the stated intention of the perk as per at least one of the devs. As the match goes on as a Survivor you should be keeping an eye out for totems and either blessing them, destroying them, or remembering their locations to check later if the killer turns out to have NOED. All three options are completely valid counters to the perk, it's just a matter of whether you wish to destroy the perk before it has any chance of doing any good, or if you would prefer to roll the dice on the chance the killer doesn't have that Perk.
-
Also, don't take Ds.
Seriously.
Let me explain. Decisive Strike is anti-tunnel, not tunnel-cancellation. Meaning the value you will get from Ds is fully up to how good you already are at loops, mind games and hiding. In my view, therefore it is better to improve those core concepts through repetition, and then once you are at the point where killers are breaking off chases with you because theynarent catching you, start taking DS. That way, when you do use it, you are much, much better prepared to do so effectively.

I got a few competitive games that are fun when I'm drunk and I actually do ok does that make them party games to? BTW one is an actual e sport.
Why though what made the playerbase take such a serious turn?
I'm not going to say they can't count. As Andrew WK says, a party is a celebration of life and fun 😊
As far as what made people more serious? Honestly I blame the popular streamers. They stream like it's a contest, getting angry and complaining about small ######### instead of having fun. I mean, look at what a channel like UPupdowndown or OutsideXbox does when they stream dbd and compare that to those streamers known for this game. One side seems to be having a lot more fun, the other is focused primarily on winning.
Now If being competitive and trying to win at any cost is fun for you, go for it, but there's definitely been a shift.
-
Because it is a really fun game to play drunk with a bunch of friends getting jump scared and laughing.
Of course it seems each year more and more of the player base shifts away from that mindset and more into a competitive space, however I do believe that was the original intention behind the phrase.

The point of the cage is that it's a choice. An option depending on whether the player feels a cage or hook would be better case by case. Why would you take that choice away? Just because you don't like the Mori animation? Why not instead ask for better/more Mori animations?

less of, "they prepare if they know where they are going" and more "going there IS the preparations or 90% of it"
Just an honest question. If a survivor complains about something that is OP, they are told to "git gud", but if the reverse happens, "survivors OP". So it takes no skill to play survivor, but also they should "git gud" (skill?), but a killer has every right to complain and being a survivor is just OP? So it is not at all possible for some killers to just suck at the game?
Source: This forum and dbd subreddit.
wrong. the source is you. YOU are the one perceiving it like this. or can you show me a table or something showing everytime "git gud" was used and what kind of player it was?
this is just your perception of the situation, don't treat it as truth.
IMO, this game is very good at showing skill gaps for both sides. Plenty of killers can steamroll even SWFs(E.G. Otzdarva) who I would consider an extremely skilled killer,
No. this is just wrong to say and can't be confirmed either way.
OTZ sometimes steamrolls swfs, and sometimes he can't do anything. that is the premise. but it's flawed. we can't know what is or isn't a swf 99% of the time.
therefore we can't really make a proper judgement.
even if we could tell it is a swf, we can't know if they have comms, if they play together often, or if they even know what they are doing.
this is just a moot point.
wanna make a point about actual swfs? use tournaments. not people playing randoms online.
and plenty of survivors can run a good killers brains out.
same issue. but I do find it interesting you pointed out 1 good killer player but no good survivor player... is one premise harder to believe than the other?
However, the average for both sides are nowhere near the skill ceiling of skilled players.
that is how averages work, yes.
and quite literally all games...
I'm not here to say survivors are OP or that killers are OP. I think some killers/perks have their advantages and some survivor perks have their advantages, but I think removing skill from the killer POV is just ridiculous and completely disingenuous .
again, that is just your perception. and this one is particularly terrible. no one says killer takes no skill (ironically, no one besides survivor mains).
For the record, I think this game suffers massive balance issues from each end that can make either side frustrated. But from what I see on this forum and subreddit is that Killers are always right and immaculate in their thoughts,
then you haven't been reading the forums all that much.
but if a survivor has anything negative to say about their experience...it's "bait, lol".
and if you think this only happens to survivors, you haven't been reading the forums all that much
How about some of you killers just "git good".
how about showing actual examples of killers ignoring actual issues from the survivor side instead of a very silly ad hominum?
Maybe you just suck and are a hypocrite.
maybe you just suck, and can't see from the killer POV. did you even consider that?
It's not confirmation bias.
it is.
The forum and DBD subreddit are MASSIVELY killer leaning to an outrageous extent.
says you... again, just your perception. which is always biased.
The amount of "lol, bad bait" responses when a survivor has a complaint is ridiculous.
yet you showed none...
I'm not saying the reverse NEVER happens, that would be delusional.
no, what you're saying is that it happens substantially mofr for one side than the other. but you show nothing besides your opinion to support it.
But anyone with the ability to read can easily see these forums and subreddit are riddled with killer bias to an unbelievable degree.
but you see, only a true scotsman can read
Like I said, if a survivor has a complaint, it's "git gud" but in the same breath "survivor takes no skill".
I heard the same for killer plenty of times...
I mean which one is it? Why do killers not apply this logic to themselves? It's like they all believe that they are God tier and their skill is never a question.
it's like you think killer players are a single entity. that what one says applies to all of them...
but hey, there has NEVER been survivors who think they are gods and their skill is never a question... right?
Again, I'm not making a claim one way or another about the game being balanced against one side. That's an extremely nuanced debate with many, many many factors. It just seems like on these forums or on reddit, the killer's skill is never in question. It's just weird.
again, you haven1t been reading the forums all that much.
Everyone is entitled to WANT to have the experience they desire when playing a video game. I mean, that's why we all play video games, right? To enjoy ourselves and have fun. There's just a massive bias against survivors here and it's like they're not allowed to have an opinion.
why do you keep repeating that you don't read the forums a lot?
Like here's another example I constantly see on these forums if a survivor mentions camping/tunneling: "The killer can play how they want and they are not responsible for how much fun you have" but in the same breath talk about how DS/BT/UB make them miserable. So only killers are aloud to have any sort of complaints whatsoever?
What about saying "the killer can play how they want" means the survivors can't complain whatsoever?
at worst this would mean they can't complain about camping/tunneling but that isn't even what's happening.
what usually happens is survivors saying the game shouldn't allow killers to do such things, which is usually what brings the "they are not responsible for how much fun you have" argument. which is correct.
the survivor voiced his complaint, he got answers. same happens to killers.
The game is just so ridiculously killer sided that the mere mention of a complaint from a survivor is "bait" and "entitled".
what happened to "I'm not making a claim one way or another about the game being balanced against one side"?
These are just my observations after being on these forums for a while.
glad you recognize that it's just your perception of things. which will forever be a biased thing.
Again, I'm not mentioning that I personally think survivors or killers are OP.
but you did say the game is killer sided...
I just find it aweful that people get berated for expressing their frustration as a survivor as if it's one of the 7 deadly sins.
yes, that is bad. but not a survivor only thing.
It's baffling that out of 10's of thousands of players, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences.
It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum.
What you just said is EXACTLY what my post is addressing. You have it in your mind that you're so unbelievably skilled that it couldn't possibly be anything you're doing, it HAS to be that the game is survivor sided. Never mind the statistics or other people's experiences. None of that matters...no no no no...Your word is law and streamers that get 100+ win streaks(4ks or 3+hatch) are just wrong and obviously pay survivors to throw the game so they can consistently get these wins. Couldn't possibly have ANYTHING to do with their skill, right?
what a big amount of nothing... at least make some sort of point.
you are just insulting someone's intelligence here. or trying to...
replace game experience with forum experience and it would suit you. stop thinking so highly of yourself, like you know all the answers and if people have a different conclusion they obviously didn't consider what you did. because you are so amazing.
grow up!
Surely your comment is being sarcastic. You can't be so dense to completely miss the meaning of my post. It's incredibly ironic how many people are just not reading my post or are just blocking everything out then going on to prove exactly what I said, and get 20+ upvotes for doing so lol.
Meanwhile anyone going against the status quo for killers get no upvotes. Un-freaking-believable how so many of you are missing this.
It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum.
I don't disagree with any of this. And I think this is a conversation for another thread. My main reason for this post was just to point out how unbelievably killer biased and completely illogical and contradictory statements are constantly spewed on these forums. I have nearly 3k hours in this game and have played for years. I have plenty of complaints for both sides, but the mere mention of something from a survivor about a negative experience is met with extreme hostility, condescension and completely irrational beliefs that people couldn't possibly have different opinions/experiences. Hell, I can say with utter certainty that my experience drastically changes from night to night.
it's amazing how much of what you say can be countered by either "It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum." or "It's baffling that out of 10's of thousands of players, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences."
you need a mirror.
In an asymmetric game, how is a near 50% win rate not ideal?
many reasons. specially when you consider what the game considers a win.
but counter question, can you even demonstrate that a 50% win rate is ideal on an asymmetric game?
See, why is it believed that killers should win/get 4k-3ks much more often than the survivor escapes.
and this is either a strawman or a missrepresentation of the most common killer argument.
either way, you're arguing against yourself there...
That's already a massive flag for bias about killers.
the strawman/misrepresentation? it's a red flag against arguing with you.
Also, the same can be said about context of killers. I can't tell you how many killers I've made DC just because I won't let them down me or get frustrated with being constantly juked.
seen it happen aswell.
doesn't help your case in any way, shape or form.
I've also experienced several "boosting" killers who are doing a daily with a killer they don't want to play and throw the game and everyone escapes without even being hooked. Do these situations also not skew the stats,
yes. it does. which is why the stats are bad and shouldn't be used to make any point whatsoever.
or again, anything that veers away from the killer status quo on these forums just don't matter? Funny how you gave an example that would inflate killer stats, but completely skip over the fact that the opposite happens.
talking about X is different from ignoring the existance of Y.
don't even try, there isn't a point to be made here. they showed one reason why the stats are flawed, you showed another.
Don't get me wrong buddy. I even said in my op that this game suffers from massive balance issues, but that's not what I was getting out. I think every single person is entitled to their opinion based on their own experiences. I'm not at all saying killers cannot have complaints, but here on these forums survivors cannot.
"I think maybe The Artist base speed should be 110% instead of 115%"
Response:
"Lol, bad bait 2/10" - 20 upvotes
"This is a joke, right" - 37 upvotes
etc...
ahem... "It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum."
Doesn't matter if it's 4 survivors, it's only one game's statistics. Whether you get a snowball 4k because of a DC or due to overly altruistic plays, Or the killer DCs or boosts the lobby resulting in a 4 man escape, they affect the statistics the same because it's for one match. And I certainly don't mean to be rude, but "in your own experience" is another example of bias as if other people can't possibly have different experiences. You're fixing your own personal experience on the larger image to confirm your bias on what you think without only anecdotal evidence and nothing with actual substance. Again, sorry if that sounds rude, but I thought I should point it out since this is what my whole post is about.
2 in a row "It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum."
The threads do not reflect what you're saying in the slightest.
says you.
I mean, I don't have anything else to say other than go look through the threads, and if you still disagree...well...um...you can lead a horse to water, right?
almost 3 in a row... "It's baffling that out of thousands of users, it's impossible for you to think that people can have drastically different experiences in this forum."
I'm sure it's completely impossible for either killers or survivors to claim they play one or the other or both in order to push their agenda by appearing to have a "nuanced" view by pretending to be the opposite side while saying something to benefit the other side.
I'm sure it's completely impossible for someone to claim they participate a lot in the forums in order to push their agenda by appearing to have a "nuanced" view by pretending they have the full picture.
again... get a mirror.
It only works for steam, but people could easily post their stats if they wanted to prove they play both sides. For example, here's mine:
https://dbd-stats.net/profile/76561198024224074
Clearly very survivor heavy(90% solo q) but also hundreds of hours as killer
ignoring the fact this could be literally anyone... what do you think that shows?
is it really that hard to imagine most people would play both roles of a game they own? even if they play one more than the other?
it's like someone owning mario party but only ever playing on 1 board. they are the exception, not the rule.
This right here, is ######### art

Buy a USB to Ethernet adapter, you can get them at most electronic stores or "big box" stores that have an electronic section. DbD gets along with wifi about as well as F13 got along with the court system. Personally I use a Lenovo usb-c travel hub, because it also has HDMI and VGA ports, so I can stream Netflix and the like on the hotel television without having to bring along extra kit.

What you describe is confirmation bias. You see only survivors getting told to git gud. While actually both sides get told to git gud.
Just yesterday there was a thread from a new killer player who complained about the balance and most answers were some sort of rage comics.
Also, its save to assume that when someone writes gg at the end of the match, he really means git gud. Why? Because I almost never receive a gg when I win. Only when I lose.
But then again, this could just be my own confirmation bias.
Seriously, this all over.

It's not but that argument "I level my character up during lobby time" never convinced me.
That's something most people should do BEFORE they even queue up. Killer can't even do it anymore due to being locked into character.
When youve got half an hour between matches, you end up doing all kinds of dumb #########. I remember one match where I ended up with a survivor I handnt played or set up, because I got distracted looking at the cosmetics and forgot to change to my main.

If you aren't deriving fun then frankly you should play something else. I play less DBD these days because there have been a few design changes I don't think were very good lately and made it generally less fun overall.
Its not some benevolent act to play one side or the other and you really aren't deserving of extra BP's just for the sake of doing so.
The only real rationale for BP bonuses based on side is population numbers, if you have a disproportionate number of players playing one side then you compensate the other to incentivise players to switch and reduce queue times overall. That makes sense.
The "I deserve extra BP's because I don't find it fun to play one side" is just a silly mindset to have.
And again, isn't what I typed.
The relevant sentences would be
"if I have to work specifically to make it fun for others instead of me"
And
"Luckily DbD doesn't work that way, so I'm good"
I was originally responding to someone who was complaining that killer tactics didn't "maximise the fun" for survivors. I don't believe that maximizing fun for survivors, is part of the job for the person playing killer, and pointed that out. If you feel differently, I would love to know why.

Lets be real both these statements are completely idiotic if genuine.
Only the most entitled customer expects any kind of compensation for playing a game, you guys can't be for real and if you are holy crap man find something else to play your attitudes are unhealthy for the game.
Oh yeah, I only want to be paid if I have to work specifically to make it fun for others instead of me, because at that point I'm not playing a game, I'm doing customer service. Luckily DbD doesn't work that way, so I'm good
