Puppers (may he rest in peace) once said on his stream that he asked the devs about doing a werewolf. He said they told him that slowly transforming a human into a werewolf would be too difficult. Now, this was a few years ago so I assume BHVR has since grown in skill/budget so maybe that's no longer an issue. And I don't know why they didn't just design a werwolf who was already fully transformed (so no complex transformation needed). But maybe that's their intention: have the killer slowly transform into a werewolf as it gains more power.

Pinhead. I hate his chains.
Freddy isn't fun either.

Only thing Nemesis really needs is an Add-on QOL pass, however things that would be nice to have outside that would be this.
- Make Nemesis switch between walk and run animation depending on if he's in a chase or not just like Ghostface.
- Add a third zombie
- Allow Nemesis to gain the Haste Status Effect for a limited time from killing a zombie with his fist.
Ahhh that's interesting. I don't often hear people talking about the animation choices, but I like that you pointed that out. Little things like that do matter.

I found was genuinely entertaining, but as you said something like that would be hard to implement and I think current nemesis isn't bad.
If you could adjust anything to make Nemesis more fun-exciting, what would you do?

@Hex_Ignored said:
So basically a 200% movement speed killer that can insta down, ignore pallets, fast vault and shoot an insta down aoe projectile?
Of course it's not fully doable in DBD.
I like the wind animation effect when he screams. I like the idea of a rocket, but not as an insta-down. The destruction of the pallet was pretty funny (but matching the timing to other killers would be challenging so doing so might lose that impact ).
There really was nothing about it that was funny or exciting to you? Nothing that triggered any creativity? That surprises me.

Puppers was the first streamer I ever watched...
I was shocked when I heard he passed. I don't really have words for this...
I haven't been on the forums in a long time so I didn't know you made a post about it. I'm glad you did though. Puppers was and will always be an important part of DBD. He made me love the game, to be honest. And he was just such a great human being.
...
Glad you're comfy now, Max. Rest in peace and love.

Recently, I got auto-DC'd after getting downed. It looked like I rage quit. It hasn't happened again, but I've noticed it happening in my solo queue matches with other people. I'm genuinely suspicious that these people are also getting auto DC'd and not quitting.

I, for one, have been clearing out some of the games in my backlog and am preparing to completely obsess over this game.
As far as other people, well some have mentioned the term "sleeper hit" and I feel that applies here. A lot of smaller, independent titles that I've played recently have done extremely well on little more than word of mouth and community engagement. Satisfactory, Valheim, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, and Deep Rock Galactic are some games that show a solid community can do wonders toward financial success.
That in mind, BHVR has created a fun, satisfying gameplay loop around two distinct roles and thus has wide appeal for different kinds of gamers. If the devs engage well with the community and keep balancing the game well I think the player base will steadily grow as more people create content, talk about it on social media, and of course encourage their friends to play with them.
I hope so! DBD is by far their most successful game, so it would be nice to see them create something different that has that same long-term magic and appeal.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always rough when a pet you love dies. Since your brain likes to be a jerk when you're grieving it's going to have you think of any time you took forgranted and think what you could've done differently instead of focusing on all the many times you showered your kitty with love and affection. I'm sure for that one time you didn't snuggle your kitty there were way more times you dropped whatever you were doing to give it your undivided attention. Don't beat yourself up over that one time when you gave the cat an entire life of love.
Thanks, BM. It really is rough.
Thank you for saying that. It was a comfort.

@Mooks said:
Give your pets some love right now. Every cuddle is more precious when you realize you'll never have another.
i just did. My chinchillas let you know they do not approve as they are not too fond of cuddling (though they got treats afterwards so they are fine)
though on a more serious note:
i am terribly sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is obviously hard and it is completely normal that you think you should/could have done something better - but you did give them a beautiful life and home, they clearly loved you and I don’t think pets hold grudges like that when not getting pet, they went to bed where they expected you after all.
The chinchillas secretly love it ;)
Thank you, Mooks. That means a lot.

I'm sorry for your loss :(
Just remember that we're all human. As much as maybe we'd like to be, we can't exactly spend 100% of our energy on our pets at all times. Your cat almost certainly had a far better life having you as an owner than they would have otherwise. I'm sure right now you don't see it that way but try to keep that in mind and don't beat yourself up over what you could have done or what you didn't do that you should have.
Thank you Tippy. Appreciate it.

These types of games usually have a problem where either:
A: The monetization makes the building unfun so they can make more money
B: A meta develops for base building that is basically unstoppable or just flat out unfun/time consuming to go against making the game completely boring.
Yikes. I don't play many games so I didn't know that. Hopefully, BHVR didn't go that route.

Everyone is like "dropping pallets is a sin of the highest calibre, you need your survivor license revoked" they're there to be used, obviously people shouldn't waste them willy nilly (like most windows users do, there's never a pallet left)
Here's what I said to another commenter.
I'm not mad at pallets being used. I dislike when they're being used inefficiently because it screws over the rest of the team. Now when a Survivor is running the Killer all game, I don't care. Do what you want. But if you're perfectly healthy and you're blowing through every pallet, and especially creating dead zones, then that's a different story. When I've played Killer, I've stuck with the Survivors who did that because it made it much easier for me to get mid to endgame pressure. There's nothing for the rest of the team to work with.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
So many people hating people using pallets... like why? Are you saving them for the next game?
Really shouldn't be mad at people using pallets healthy or injured, as long as they dont get hit and drop it or just camp at all the pallets it's fine. As long as everyone does gens and loops before dropping you'll be fine. You'll die more from inefficiency and saving pallets over people using them to not lose a health state.
As for the OP. I dont really hate anything in the game, if I really had to pick itd be either killers face camping on first hook or survivors just giving up. Both are boring and just kinda waste my time and I just wanna play the game afterall
I don't know if this was directed at my post, but if it was, allow me to give some context please.

I just typed up a whole comment about how hopeful I am for this game's future before it was randomly deleted after a bug with posting the comment, so I'll just leave a nutshell version here. The game is really good, surprised at the stability in the closed playtest, very hopeful & excited for the game's future, I have a lot of trust in the devs and this game's ability to foster a unique and niche community.
Ahhh you did the closed play test? That's great! I'm glad you commented that feedback. Sucks about your original comment going away.

Yes but me 2 years ago wasn't that smart I'll make a better version with updated perks and maybe something similar in power but a little different so it can also be used in games where there is swf
Go for it! I hope to see it when you do. I'm not on the forums as much as I used to be, so I hope I don't miss it.
-
I think the concept is cool, but it's too oppressive as is. Gens now take longer, there are already so many slowdown perks in the game, and not to mention, Survivors would be wasting time to turn on a fake gen-- and then they'd get an additional 30-second block to work on the real gens? That's too severe. The mind game would also be completely countered by SWF. They would know who was who. I'm also not a fan of having to mend, either. But I think your concept is really cool and could be something fun and interesting. I really hope you play around with the idea more. It's cool.

I'm on Xbox so I rarely get messages but when I do get salty messages, I always send LOL. If they message again, I send LMAO. If they message again, I send ROFL. If they message again, I send ROFLCOPTER.
If I got my arsed kicked and they're sending a gloating message, I just send a "thumbs up" emoji. If they keep responding, they just keep getting Thumbs Up until they stop sending messages.
Same. I'm on PS4 though so I don't get them often. I did get a trolling gloat message yesterday from a Trapper so I just said "ggwp" in reply. Got nothing after that lol

@Kaffry said:
Then again, they aren’t that useful. You spend 3-5 seconds just collecting, just to get a short speed boost. Only really worth grabbing if you are near a dead-zone and actually have enough time to grab it (very unlikely in the middle of a chase).
yeah it doesn't help in a chase unless you're in perfect circumstances.

Start of event - 0/10 cosmetics.
The game with envelope - 1/10
Next game with envelope AND lantern - 3/10
Next game with envelope only - 4/10
Maybe i'm wrong and somehow I got two cosmetics out of one envelope but...
Lanterns give a haste status effect; envelopes give cosmetics.
Oddly, I found three in one match and then none again lol

@usesPython said:
Did you have Hyperfocus equipped?
No.
Intermittently, skill checks (healing and gens) would be extremely fast. This also happened outside of the Killer's terror radius.
-
@Krazzik said:
The only thing in the entire game which speeds up skill checks is Caulrophobia and that does only affect healing skill checks.
Huntress' Lullaby can make skill checks 'feel' faster because of the lack of warning but the speed of the rotating is still the same.
If the actual speed of the skill check was sped up for a gen it must have been either a hacker or a bug of some kind.
That's what I'm thinking. I'm hoping it was a bug and not a hacker. If it happens again, I'll record the match. Thanks for commenting.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Did the killer have Coulrophobia?
That's great point, but I thought that only applied for healing skill checks in the Killer's terror radius. This happened for gens and also outside of the terror radius.
-
@Mandy said:
I'm seeing more Huntress Lullaby the last couple of days, makes me feel the skill checks are faster due to the lack of warning sound.
Hi, Mandy. No, that wasn't equipped (but I know what you mean hah). The skill check itself was sped up rapidly. I wondered if I was facing a hacker.

So you're positive the bloodpoint bonus will still be applied even if it is not visually shown in your lobby?
-
@Seraphor said:
It's not based on when you log in, it's based on when you enter the lobby. However, the bonus may only appear visually when you enter the lobby from the main menu, not necessarily when you re-enter after leaving the previous game. It's possible to receive the bonus without seeing the +100% in the bottom corner this way.
That said, I'm sure there's still a whole host of bugs and exceptions, but this is how it's understood to work currently.
Just to clarify, I know it's not based on when you log in. But my focus was on what you said, the part about how the bonus may only visually appear if you enter from the main menu and not necessarily post-game. So let's say it doesn't appear, do we know for certain that you are receiving the bonus at your next game? Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. The only way I could test that is if I played alone (with no bonus) and then with friends, who joined late and would have the bonus, and then we compare after a match.
