The only issue I have with nurse is how extremely forgiving her post blink lunge is. IE I can juke her blink correctly but the lunge even though she miss blinked reaches so far it makes her still be in range to hit. It’s just overly forgiving. I think the way to change her is reducing the range of her post blink lunge to require her to be more accurate. This doesn’t hurt very good nurses and just asks they be a little more accurate while giving survivors a little more leeway on their juke.
But isn't her post blink lunge the same range as every lunge as well? If we ignore the addon for increased lunge?

You make some good points but how many players will just quit out if some of the team don’t use the chat.
People already quit at the slightest provocation, and half the team opting out of chat would just give the quitters another excuse.
I doubt it would add as much as people think given how quick a rather large section of the dbd player base is willing to just bow out the moment the game isn’t perfectly what they want.
I wouldn’t be using the voice chat because frankly the game is better without it as survivor.
I mean when they already quit over nothing then why care about them? Just because some guys will DC over every little thing does not mean we should not add useful features.

No, it isn't. Literally no one in the thread said they were hurt by words. That guy was literally just being intentionally provocative on purpose.
The argument against it goes like that though, so bringing it up can be OK I guess. Not saying the phrasing was the appropriate way but still.

I agree absolutelly unnecesary on their part. However I also think people exaggerate a lot what being called or typed in a videogame entails. Like just block/mute them I see no issue with bhvr adding vc to the game.
Mind you I have been called al sorts of things since my xbox 360 days and other games, multiple people have told me in creative ways how to keep myself safe or things related to my ethnicity. But alas I just press a button and the issue is solved.
Would be nice, but you cannot block text chat with individual players in this game... While it is a thing in any other game, just not this one... No clue why, it is basic functionality.

obviously yes, but that wasn't my point. "calling people softshells because they don't like being insulted by internet strangers is weird" is my point. it was just a pointless and needless insult from them that was provocative in nature and didn't add to the discussion.
The tone in online games has always been rougher and trash talk and insults are basically the norm... Therefore it is kind of fair to say that.

True but anybody claiming shes weak doesnt know how to play her. In the right hand she is still S tier because of the lack of countered to that.
She is definitely not weak, but she is weaker and with her full potential lowered survivors now have a higher change to win the match, that was the goal and it was reached.

That's part of the issue. I don't want the text either. In game quick chat or emotes I'm fine with. Other than that I would want to be able to turn off all forms of communication so as not to be harassed about anything.
You are correct that I don't, usually, get told off for not using voice chat in other games. But DBD is a different beast. I never once received a comment on my steam profile until I started playing DBD. The majority of those were negative and caused me to private everything about my profile. That's also not an issue I had with other games.
Most games allow you to mute text chat with players... That's pretty much a given...
Yeah that leaving a note on profile is just a dbd thing for some reason, no clue why... But in the end it is just wasted time on their side... Then again I have close to 3 K hours and nobody left a note on my profile despite it not being private...

The last nerf didnt really impact her and she is still S tier for a reason
It "only" removed a lot of perks from being usable on her, including but not limited to exposed perks, weakened her addons across the board and made her significantly weaker to the point where Blight before his addon rework was stronger than her... So I think the rework did enough.

There's plenty of information out there now. We know what people are doing and we know when someone is being chased. There are perks for other things, so I don't need anything else, and if I did I would find a swf.
Also, the gap isn't just information. It is attitude as well. In a SWF with friends they don't give up because they are downed in 10 seconds. The issues I have with playing SoloQ are nearly always the attitude and childishness of some other Survivors. I can't say information is anywhere up there now.
We're not going to agree on this and I respect your stance, but back to the main point there's nothing that would convince me voice comms in Solo is needed nor wanted, nor would it give me significantly more info than I already feel is necessary.
We have not too much information about where people are or what resources they used. Sure you could use perks for additional information, but swf already has that information and does not get more out of using those perks additional, which is the whole point... It is not about you personally but that this gap exists generally.
Sure it is not just information, but a big part is information. Sure you won't as likely have those people in your swf as well, but maybe some other people do? I guess even people like that have friends.
It would give more information compared to what you currently have... And that's the whole point, if you don't want that information that's fine, you are not forced to use it.

Yeah also the Nurse Basekit is a bit slower than a survivor so the Killer would even loose distance to the Survivor
Not by a lot at least, but it would feel terrible, because you get stunned for 2 seconds, go into fatigue for 2-3.5 seconds and then wait 6 seconds for both blinks to recharge after the time it takes the recharge progress to start... You loose like 11+ seconds at least more like 15 until you can even start to go for a blink again... You can basically abandon chase at that point because the survivor is literally on the other side of the map by now.

Stunned her mid blink and she was unaffected by much.
Since pallet stuns are much harder to hit her with, it should penalize her massively. Not allow her to ignore her 0.5 second fatigue that grants her both charges of her blink again.
The suggestion here is whenever she's stunned, she loses all her charges and can't regain them for a few seconds.Stun + fatigue is fine, but I don't think there is a need to make per follow you for like 10 seconds until her blinks recharge.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3722446#Comment_3722446
We're not talking about Siege, we're talking about Dead by Daylight. One is an FPS, one is an asymmetrical game — a genre notoriously hard to balance — that relies heavily upon its sound design for part of that balancing. What another dev, that created another game in another genre, chooses to do is up to them.
"Knowing what to expect" doesn't suddenly make specific brands of headphones with filtering hardware, that Behaviour has no involvement with, first-party. They're still third-party, and they're still allowing you to manipulate the game audio in unintended ways.
What you basically said is that the 120 hz option is implied by the game, as that option is actually available. So the monitor does nothing more then do what the game already allows... And other stuff like sound sliders are not which is why the hardware that enables it does more... Yeah I understood that. However the game is so poorly optimized that it lacks many basic settings... It took years for the game to reimplement anti aliasing as an option, we don't have advanced graphics settings and still need to change stuff outside of the game in text documents instead of having the option in game. Which is why I said to make the difference be what the game does or does not enable is pretty much meaningless because the game is so poorly optimized that basic customisation like a proper advanced graphics or sound menu is missing along other things. The options menu of this game is missing stuff that was standard like 15 years ago and that is why I said the difference only exists because the game is poorly optimized... I shortened the whole thing down so I don't have to type this whole wall of text, because I thought it was common knowledge that the options and ways to customize via in game options are just horrid.
On a side note I believe the option to play the game with 120 hz was only rather recently added via in game options, I think before that you had to adjust your framerate via the game data folders or maybe it wasn't even possible at all... Another point why I said the game is poorly optimized.

Not ridiculous at all. You've seen and read how randoms act to others and how someone will deliberately make the game for another a real problem. There's an "Unsportsmanlike" report button for a reason.
As for the final paragraph, that is the only way if someone cares that much. SoloQ is in a decent enough place as is. I have far more trials with others who play fine enough than those who kill themselves on hook. If you want to close the gap with SWF, the answer isn't in changing game mechanics; it's in changing gamer attitudes.
Voice chat should stay with SWF. If someone wants that option, there are plenty looking for other teams.
The gap is an information gap... You cannot close that by changing your attitude ^^
With that argument you can undermine any form of communication, because it can always result in abuse, which is why there are not only rules that forbid such Behaviour but also mute and report button to be able to prevent them immediately by muting the person or longer lasting by reporting them.

Oh, no, no. It's actually the other way around.
See, I'm no psychiatrist, but one of my friends does study psychology. And if what I understood of what little he has told me is correct (and I'm able to translate and express it clearly in English), the inability to express an emotional reaction is closer to needing some serious therapy than if someone throws a verbal attack at you and it makes you feel bad.
So, if someone throws an attack at you online, as social creatures that we are, common reactions are usually things like frustration, defusal (as in, trying to make the situation stop, even if the attack fails to hit you) or… I don't know the word in English, but it's kind of like "counter offensive", as in, you attack them back to protect yourself or others from further harm.
Frustration and counter offensives are unhealthy and can cause harmful outbursts to self and others when left unchecked, but they are still natural reactions. These should be understood and controlled so they lead to healthier outputs (like defusal) for a more harmonious coexistence with your fellow peers.
However, if any attack, online or not, is met with absolute indifference, it's recommended to seek professional help because there can be a number of issues repressing the person's feelings (not necessarily illnesses, it could be social elements like an unhealthy parental figure inserting into their children the idea that feeling frustration or sadness equates to weakness)
Don't take this as professional advice because I'm merely writing in my words, and translated into English, what someone else said off the top of my head and applying it to an online environment, but that is the rough idea of what I understood. I'm sure there's some books in English that can delve deeper into this, and there's always the option of finding a professional opinion on the matter, but the idea should be roughly the same.
No offense but to have an im motional response to any little thing someone that does not know at all or any nonsense that gets thrown at your seems like you don't have control over your emotions... You simply should not get bothered by that, why even? It lacks an logical basis... If you care what trash talkers on the internet say about you is the far bigger issue, because why would you even? They don't know you and have no basis for their assumption...

If a game is capable of being run at 120hz, then all that monitor is doing is allowing you to avail yourself fully of what the game is capable of. You're using your hardware to play the game in a way that was intended. A refresh rate of 120hz isn't going to do a damn thing if a game couldn't run beyond 60 hz, and any attempts to mod that frame rate to be higher A) Has nothing to do with the monitor (because frame interpolation isn't handled by the monitor), and B) Would risk causing significant issues, including latency.
The game does not come with audio sliders to raise or reduce the prominence of certain sounds, it does not come with hardware to filter sounds. If you own the best set of headphones in the world, you might be able to pick up more subtle sounds, but that is not the same as having specific hardware or software to manipulate the levels of those sounds for an advantage. That is not an advantage specific to headphones, it's an advantage afforded by specific headphones with specific hardware and software that allows you to interact with the game audio in an unintended way.
You know this, you're not dumb. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.
So basically because the game is poorly optimized and does not have certain options that any other reasonable game has makes this different? ^^

Quite simply, if I wanted voice chat then I would join a SWF. If I don't want voice chat and prefer to pkay solo, then I play solo.
Voice chat in general for all would be hellish, with people yelling, playing music, being dicks and such. And opting out wouldn't be an optiom, because if the other 3 want VC and I don't, I'm pretty sure they'll grief me because I prefer to play without VC.
The solution for communication is to join a SWF.
Thats a little bit ridiculous to assume people will grief you over that. You may have the option to do that, but others don't because they maybe don't have people to play with.
You can just turn the option off and griefing is still a reportable offense, so I really don't think this is as big of an issue as you make it out to be.
The solution to bridge the gap between solo and swf is to be in a swf... Great yeah that will solve everything...

This... All of this... Lol.
I get told I suck in nearly every game I play, that has in game voice, and usually end up turning it off. It's nice to be able to come to DBD and not have to hear it an entire match.
Give me the option to turn it off and I might not care. Depends on how many rude comments I get in end game chat for not using the voice chat when all they had to do was use the pre game chat and tell me. In which case I would probably be on my phone anyway and not looking at that either.
In other games you also don't get told that, and since voice chat would not be the only way of communication you can still rely on text or ping.
-
@Mr_K said:
But nobody has an issue with people using Voice chat?
What now? Nobody? Where you pull that from?
Lets say solos did have voice chat. It would still be less than what SWFs have. Why? Because SWFs are players that want to play with each other. They played games with each other normally and know how each other refer to things like callouts. Even with communication you will still have disorganization.
Now how about the bad side. One, every streamer out there will want a way to mute. Can't risk someone saying gamer words on stream. Normal players will want this too. Who wants to hear a kid screaming in your ear? Not to meantion the amount of harassment accusation that will popup because of it.
Overall just a bad idea for this game.
Basically every voice chat in every game can be muted, that is the worst argument to be made to assume that we will get an implementation without basic functionality... Also games usually have the option to mute specific players, it is really not a big deal.

If the game has built in voice chat, besides needing a robust moderator team for it (which won't happen with BHVR), the game would have to be balanced around it being used effectively by all four survivors in a match, which means survivors not using it as such would be at a huge disadvantage, which would make solo queue worse.
Currently roughly half the players play in some form of a swf... Is that taken into account while balancing? Also having additional moderators for voice chat... Seriously? That's your problem? That you don't think they would hire staff to take care of that?
Players not using any of the communication tools at all would be at a disadvantage, which is why I said there should be several to use... In the end it is your choice to use it or not and if that gives you a disadvantage that is your choice. But basically every multi-player game has a voice chat and people usually don't complain that they are "forced" to use it or be at a disadvantage... It is really not a big deal... There are so many things in this game that put you at a disadvantage... Running suboptimal perks, being on console/not so good PC and what not but, but as with those things as well players have a choice whether or not they want that, currently they don't, they just can't communicate with each other.
-
@Krazzik said:
A lot people REALLY don't want voice chat, myself included, by they definitely need to add more info. Pings about where the killer is, where they're heading, info on what perks teammates are bringing, that sort of stuff needs to be added so that killer can be balanced against survivors as a whole. Pretty much any info a 4-man SWF can give each other needs to be given to solo players so there isn't as big of a power gap like now.
I mean, you can just not use it… No need to not implement it… If you don't want to use voice chat in any other game nobody is forcing you to do so, but being against it despite other people wanting it is a bit off. That's basically like saying "I don't want x so you cannot have x either". Not saying it should be the only thing to close the information gap, but I think it would be a good thing to have in addition to man more (chat wheel, text chat, ping system and so on).

I don't understand the double standards. Why is it an issue that survivors want to communicate in game whether it's by VC or a chat wheel that DBD Mobile has? But nobody has an issue with people using Voice chat? 4 MAN SWF knows everyone loadout, solo players don't. They got more or less basekit kindred too, and bond roughly. This is why solo survivors are upset, we are pushed to the side, yet SWF has everything solo players want. DBD mobile has the best QOL for solo survivors, so I don't understand why don't they just follow the template and add it to the base game. It's just not fair. I am tired that people have advantages because using third party programs and are playing with friends. I don't know anything about DBd Mobile 100% but I know they got chat wheels and we can see loadouts. I am ranting because they got no problem with VC yet are not adding any form of communications in the game which is hypocritical. Like you can't have issues adding communications in the game yet allow third party comms. I can't tell if this is supposed to be a party game or not since it seems like you need to be in a party in order to play.
Well first of all according to a community manager the community does not want voice chat :) At least that's what I got told when the topic was brought up.
As for the difference between mobile and our version, apparently the two communites that play those games are not the same, which is why the mobile version has some features ours does not have, at least that's what I got told by a community manager :)
Well on a more serious note I have not clue what all those excuses are for, obviously there is an information gap and obviously it needs to be closed so players don't feel divided into groups of players with better or worse tools, but well can we really expect fast changes on a game that is 8 years old and now has come up with another game mode and does not have basic features in settings or many other things that were considered standard a decade ago.
I guess another thing would probably be that the development of the game might be bottlenecked by the spaghetti code or how the game is coded in general, so maybe we are lucky and progress will happen because of the engin upgrade? Well one can hope for a miracle ^^

Poor people. This game costs fifteen dollars and is on sale often, I've been getting by mostly on Iri shards since they were introduced and before that I just didn't have the fun stuff.
Your headset is allowed to be as good as you want, so long as it doesn't have a built in secondary mode specifically designed to give you a mechanical advantage in the videogame, such as described in the post. Hell, I'm even cool with the headset in the post being used so long as the secondary mode is off, since then it isn't functioning in a way specifically designed to give them an advantage.
So, that's my stance. I know yours, I doubt you'll change mine, do you want split hairs more or are we done here? Cheating is ultimately defined by dishonesty and unfairness, something that varies depending on each person's view, so don't be surprised that there is no general consensus.
My only issue here is that cheating always has a negative connotation, and the headset as well as the mode are obviously legal and allowed to be used in games, since that is the purpose of the feature. But by stretching the definition of cheating to be as far fetched as to reach out to allowed programs, hardware and what not just feels like people that have that stuff are getting shamed into not using it just because others are not happy with what is allowed and what is not.
But sure I guess there is no point in further explanations on this topic. Guess we will see what the future brings and if this features makes it a basekit thing in the next generation of headsets.
-
@Thusly_Boned said:
Cheating is kind of a subjective/relative term for most people, but I tend to think this, like most things people debate about, falls more into the "competitive advantage" area than any sort of blatant cheating (assuming the headset works as advertised).
Personally I think anything that isn't stock standard (even stuff like changing the brightness/contrast) is to some degree unfair unless everyone can do it. But it's DBD, where "balance" has no meaning, so it's certainly not anything I would even think much about.
I mean everyone can do it at each specific platform should be the key… You cannot really tell people not to use things just because other platforms are unable to do that… Otherwise I probably am not allowed to go beyond 30/60 fps because console, or most likely the switch cannot do that?
-

Is it cheating? I guess it depends on what you yourself view as cheating, so many content creators use sound equalizers like that it's not really fair to consider it a cheat but I do believe personally that you gain an unfair advantage with the EQ just for the simple fact those sounds aren't meant to be canceled out so you can hear better it's there for a reason
Unfair compared to who? I don't think it is unfair... If you spend more money on hardware your game will run better compared to some 10 year old potatoe pc... Does that give you an advantage? Yes! Is it unfair? No why would it?

I don't think it do. Freddy puddles have a better chance of getting a hit at a loop than even a good moon walking bubba. "If you don't have a close by tile against Bubba you just go down." I mean yeah if u spawn in on Rancid, Haddonfield, or pale rose... Most maps got resources everywhere even if they not strong loops.
But he burns through them really quickly, so while yes at the beginning there are resources but you will destroy them and therefore create dead zones.
Freddy's 15% slow is not nearly good enough, it only works on sleeping survivors, alarm clocks are a thing and even when they are asleep the power is still not good.

I said strawman because you said I judge killers just on console. No. I do play exclusively on console, there are certain killers that are far superior on PC, but that's not where my game knowledge is limited to. It seems like people are always looking for excuses to disregard what I say rather than addressing the actual argument.
Hag doesn't go from C tier to S tier just because she can bind tp to scroll wheel; she can be beat by some following her around all game. Deathslinger's instascope was balanced, because he was never played in tournament, and lost regularly (as 110%s do) at high level since he's a weaker Legion. Freddy was never S tier even at his strongest, because he was literally just an M1. I sure do have disagreeable opinions, and they're here to stay because they're based on experience/easily observable stuff, and have yet to be disproven.
I asked if you do that... The sentence even had a question mark... So maybe don't jump to conclusions that easily.
Deathslinger is a weaker Legion?? Excuse me how even, Legion has basically no chase power whereas Slinger has quite good antiloop xD Calling Slinger a weaker legion is a wild statement ^^ Legion is an m1 killer and really good survivors will basically run him the entire game, whereas against Slinger he will get downs and hooks, not necessarily win the game but get a better result for sure.

It isn't cheating by BHVR'S rules because there's no way they'd be able to enforce it, but let's be real, this is an unfair advantage unlocked by paying for an outside piece of tech. Software or Hardware, it's cheating. You could do it if you want ig, but please don't.
What exactly makes it unfair? Does not everyone have the option to just buy certain hardware? Also what is the standard hardware that is not unfair, how good or bad is my headset allowed to be to not give me an unfair advantage?

Using something outside the scope of the game to gain an unfair advantage is quite clearly cheating. Behaviour simply chooses to avoid addressing certain things because it would achieve nothing but flood the system with reports that would go nowhere. To ban something that you know, I know, and they know is unverifiable and unenforceable would only make them look ridiculous. To make it a reportable offence when you know, I know, and they know that 100% of those reports would have to be discarded would only further the ridiculousness.
To any reasonable person, it's still cheating. It just can't be proven and is easier for Behaviour to ignore it.
Is it then cheating to have a 120 hz monitor for a higher framerate because it clearly gives you an advantage over people with a lower framerate? I don't think it is clearly cheating, it is completely fine to use any hardware you want to use.

I’ve seen ppl saying she doesn’t need a nerf but literally every game I have played this month against a nurse player, even the not so good ones has gotten atleast a 3-4k, with 2k sometimes being before 2 or 3 gens being complete. I just don’t know how long it’s been since players have been asking for this change with devs acting like they don’t see it. But they would swear up and down they are listening to the community😒.
Her counterplay is just different from any other killer and many people have no clue what to do against her, and those players just get stomped. Other than that it is hard to nerf her more without removing her identity or turning her into Blight...

Her basekit is fine and has good counterplay but still needs to be changed in small ways.
- bring back stun-fatigue, and make it so she wont recharge blinks during it (pallets finally have a use)
- Increase fatigue by 1s if you miss (makes locker counterplay more viable while rewarding 360s and punishing nurse misplays)
- bring back lightburn for nurse
- Maybe a small compensatory buff, shorter fatigue for landing a hit?
I think she still gets increased fatigue for missing a blink attack?

No. Strawman. With Chucky's 2% Haste after a Scamper add-on, you still can't get a survivor before they get back to the pallet, unless you use his dash attack (only usable on PC). And that's the part that's getting nerfed, that you'll no longer be able to dash attack after a Scamper, because it won't let you Scamper unless you're already mid-dash attack. Pig's dash attack is still countered by running away as soon as she crouches. 99% of the time, you're better off hitting a survivor with M1 instead of using that attack, because I'll use 2 dash attack/crouch improvement add-ons, and won't be able to hit a survivor unless they screw up their movement. Her strength was in her head traps the few times she could actually get a down, and that's been nerfed like 3-4 times. So I'm confident in my opinions, because they've been formed by years of high level play, even though I sometimes bring up console issues which clearly not enough people respect.
What do you mean by strawman?
Whether or not you can reach them before they make it around the tile fully depends on how big the tile is... You won't make it around a small loop, but that does not really matter because small loops are not safe anyway, whereas the longer ones allow you to get a hit there.
With those two addons you might even be able to still get a hit despite them running away, and even if not you barely lose distance because of the lower missed attack cooldown.
Well I disagree with that opinion but you are free to believe whatever you want.

I'm definitely in the minority for the bubba opinion but i truly believe he terrible. You have to moon walk chainsaw for this guy to even be playable. otherwise u running around eating through pallets which don't sound to bad in theory but waste to much time
But that already makes him better than Freddy... If you don't have a close by tile against Bubba you just go down.

Chucky's just 110% and can't use his dash attack on console. And then he's getting a nerf. Pig got a buff to her dash attack which should've happened upon release, and isn't even good enough now, paired with her being nerfed repeatedly in the past couple months. These are nothing killers.
So you are judging them on console? I think Pigs dash is quite good now and both are far from the bottom tier.

You missed the point. It's not classed as cheating by Behaviour because it would be meaningless, not because it's not cheating. It's impossible to prove someone is doing it, it's impossible to ban people for it, it's unenforceable. All it would do is create a window for people to clog the system with reports that Behaviour wouldn't be able to act upon.
Using a third-party device to gain a significant, unintended advantage over other players is quite clearly cheating.
I mean that is a point as well, but it is still not cheating since there are no restrictions to hardware… How would it be cheating then?

I think if you need to run one or two specific addons in order for that killer to be at all viable, that is a bad killer. And being good at proxy camping is not at all unique to Myers. A lot of killers can do that without needing to build up their power first.
So for Myers we have tombstone, and we have like… 2 or 3 duration addons that make it so his t3 is long enough to oneshot someone, put them on a hook and then camp them there for the full duration without anyone being able to unhook.
Sure it is not unique, but it is a global exposed without windup or anything, that is some strenght, and that is also probably the one scenario I would say he is better than Ghostface at, because he makes all survivors exposed at once, whereas Ghostface needs to do it seperatly and with preparation each time. Like I said before, Myers is not a good killer, but he is definitely not the worst.

I've been pondering this actually myself for a while and trying to identify my bias towards Blight.
I love playing against Billy, but I hate playing against Blight, but when you compare the 2, it doesn't really make sense...because citing all the points above, Billy is very strong and arguably stronger than Blight, so I've been really trying to figure out where my bias lies.
I'm not especially good at looping but I'm decent, and my current point of thinking is that the difference boils down to how they tend to score hits.
In Billy's case, I feel like I can attempt to juke, and a lot of the time, if Billy doesn't get the right line, I avoid the hit. He recovers fast, and is after me again, but that brief moment he missed me feels exciting and intense. As he goes for another chainsaw hit, he is slightly slower, so I have a chance to try and get to safety or around a corner to continue my juke attempts. He can of course just m1 me, but I boost away from that, and if he's not using his chainsaw to catch me, hes just a regular m1 killer, with a power that is heavily telegraphed, slows him down slightly, and needs him to be precise to hit me. I can juke 3 times and get hit by a 4th, and even though I still got instadowned, I had fun doing so....
In Blight's case, if he is anywhere close to on line with me when he swings, he can usually turn and hit me. The excitement of juking him is instead replaced with frustration, as it feels like he doesn't need to be very precise to score a hit on me. Unlike Billy who is slowed slightly while revving up for another chainsaw attempt, for Blight there is no difference between an m1 hit and an m2 hit, so usually even if I juke a hit, he can usually just walk me down and m1 me to get effectively the same value... and by doing so he also has his power regaining tokens, so me gaining distance doesn't really matter, he can rush straight after me. Even if I juke him twice and got down on the 4th hit, the same as Hillbilly, it doesn't feel as though I had mu h fun or agency doing it.
This I feel is the difference between Blight and Hillbilly, and where my bias lies. Billy feels like I can juke him by inches and have an OK chance of getting somewhere to try do something... even if I fail, it doesnt feel as bad. Blight feels like he is harder to dodge, and even if you do dodge, most of the time it feels like you didn't really accomplish anything... so even if you need to take 2 hits from Blight instead of Hillbillys 1, he's more frustrating to go against.
I have a similar thing with Nurse. A good Nurse can obviously smash you down very efficiently, but the difference is if you DO juke a Nurse she has her long stun and recovery, you feel accomplished in doing so... whereas Blight you feel like it didn't really make much of a difference either way.
I'm trying to remove my Blight bias, and I think objectively you guys are right... but I almost always have way more fun vs. Hillbilly.
A killer being fun to play against and being strong is not the same… Legion is not a strong killer but he is super annoying to go against. It's fairly simple if you think about it that way.
There are many killers in the game that are just not fun to play against, despite them being strong or weak, that mostly does not matter… Only ofc if the only thing that is fun for you is whether or not you are able to escape against that killer on a regular basis.

I got a new Turtle Beach headset for my playstation account and noticed it had this mode. Its supposed to highten footsteps and lower other louder sounds i guess? Kinda like a equalizer i think but for console. Obviously it comes from the headset itself so i don't think it'd be bannable but thought id ask. It sounds so scuffed though when i use it. Spirit would have a field day with it though probably.
From the Turtle Beach website:
"Activate Turtle Beach’s exclusive Superhuman Hearing sound setting on specially equipped Turtle Beach and ROCCAT gaming headsets and gain the advantage by being able to hear subtle yet game-changing sounds you might otherwise miss. Enemy footsteps sneaking-up for the stealth kill, other players reloading their weapon just before an ambush, and enemy vehicles off in the distance approaching with reinforcements are vital pieces of audio-based intelligence, informing split-second, life-or-death decisions that elevate great gamers above everybody else. When you have a gaming headset with Superhuman Hearing, you not only have phenomenal audio—you have the competitive edge."I think it is Completely fine to use if you want to, just the benefit of newer hardware... Higher fps and stuff also gives you advantages, but I don't see people complaining about that either.

@Xernoton said:
Technically you use something different than what the game provides you with to get a competitive advantage (that's also not specifically permitted by the devs). This by definition makes it cheating. However, since you don't use third part software to modify the game itself, you can't get banned for it because there is no way for EAC to detect it. It's also impossible for any of us to know, if you use it or not. We can only guess.
So the only thing stopping you from using it is your conscience.
It is not a third party software but hardware... And since I don't think there are hardware limitations for the game this is probably not cheating.

@Raconteurminator said:
Is it cheating? Absolutely. Is it reportable, bannable or even remotely detectable? No, it's not. It's not against the rules by virtue of it being completely unenforceable.
Cheating involves being against the rules, so it is not cheating.

Myers for sure. Being able to instantly down people isn't that unique of a thing anymore, and every killer does it much more quickly and easily than Myers does.
You can mori people on the spot, you just need to look at people and your power lasts long enough that you can safely Prox camp someone for a full hooks Tage without anyone being being able to unhook...

All the fun killers seem to be the weakest but I still enjoy trapper, ghostface and deathslinger.
How is deathslinger one of the weakest killers? XD I mean Ghostface is on the weaker side, but surely not the weakest.

If unhook guy don't have bodyblocking to the killer, it will no bodyblock to other survivors. survivor team can craft an killer block door made by another survivor.
if that only work to the killer, yes that survivor will not use the anti-tunnel to aggression tactics, but killer also can't bodyblock the survivor that hook at Unfavorable location that survivor making mistakes loop to this location and been Knocked down.(like basement)
That sounds like you have a problem with weakening hard tunneling one survivor off of hook? Why even?

so killer can not tunnel? even survivor do all thing wrong
More so the survivor cannot force the killer into hitting into his OTR or BT when the killer does not want to tunnel.

Saw this on reddit: (I know people would just start bming at the front of the gate instead of inside. But it is a funny idea) I don't like to stick around to just wait out the EGC as a survivor so this will never impact me. And I always just push people out as killer so they don't wait out the time. But it is fun to run around and kick stuff for over a minute.
The issue is sometimes you want to reset at a safe spot, preferably the gates, to leave immediately in case the killer approaches, and to prepare for a safe... Otherwise sure why not...

Not including the double iri addons for Blight which make him the strongest Killer in the game, I think that Hillbilly at his strongest is a much better Killer than Blight now. Above all else Blight needs his speed add-ons, he's just not a good enough Killer without them so when they ended up not only hard nerfing those add-ons but also removing one of the techs that he needed to get hits on certain tiles, that being the hug tech, it hurt him bad
In comparison thanks to all the buffs Hillbilly got I feel as if he is not only a much more threatening Killer but one that now also has higher potential than Blight. His overdrive, speed addons, lopro chains, etc., all turn him into the second-best Killer in the game for me. The only thing I'd say Blight has over Hillbilly is being slightly more better on indoor maps, but even then thanks to the collision changes I've been doing decently fine on maps like Lerys as Hillbilly.
The showcase hens had where it was Blight VS Billy shows this too. And I'm not here to say that because of this Hillbilly deserves a nerf or anything, I just think contrary to what most people think Blight needs a small buff, that being to his base kit speed and a nerf in some other areas like any addons that lower his recharge period.
Blight basically always needed his speed addons to shine, don't get me wrong he is not and was never bad without them, those addons just enabled more of his anti loop potential, as he does in deed feel quite slow without them. I don't think he necessarily needs a buff or anything, but maybe something to take care of that reliance on speed addons... Buff his base speed and nerf the addons accordingly? Or give him one of those addons base and rework it's effect or something like that, otherwise you will just mostly see people run either double speed or his iri addons. That basically has been the problem with his addons for quite some time, he has some really good addons that makes the others look so terrible nobody in their right mind wants to run them unless for meme purposes. We'll I guess it is better than having fewer decent addons or no good once at all like Freddy... But I still think there is room for improvement.
