Also maybe disable killer powers because of ghost face, doc, and myers

Maybe just reduce the stalk speed the same way gen speed is reduced.

Also reaching T2 as Myers and Surviviors Revealing you as Ghostface should end the warmup phase. Making surviviors scream as a Doctor or as any killer should end it too.

  • @MiktheSpik said:

This is going to inherently buff set up killers like hag and trapper. So firstly IF this was even implimented. Its likely that set up killers would probably get a notable nerf to compensate. Secondly, he generalized super hard on the potential problems this would cause. There would need to be specific rules for each killer an scenerio. Cause with this idea of a trial warmup sounds great. It also is killer weighted meaning using something like stake out for survivors wouldnt be incentivized meaning this only really is just a buff to killers if they wanna use it. If the rules were refined to also mix up the survivor meta then this would be alittle more inviting of an idea. As all the killer mains rallying for this should know, this is a change to entice killer survivor interaction in otherways since survivor side win con is just m1 simulator. I think if this were to be refined ALOT more it would be interesting. The only problem with this is like i said. Is if used properly, this is basically just a giant buff, and i mean a MASSIVE buff to killers as they essentially (at this point in refinement) just get a bunch of free time to scope out and set up a game while the survivors basically just cant really do anything. If they get items like he suggest then that just strictly benefits killers because the game is drawing out which is beneficial to killers. I mean ######### if theres a solo guy working on gens. Depending on the impact of the set percentile slowdown on gens. Killers could LITERALLY see someone working on a gen ALONE and ignore him since it wouldnt be worth breaking trial slowdown to chase someone when you could scatter a bigger group. I really like the idea of this but this at the end of the day is a giant buff to killers. I honestly think killers just need a bit of help in the ranking up department. Cause ive deadass seen killers get like gold medals across the board not pip up thrn say its the games balance. Two completely different things peoole. Going from that i think one of those steps would be buffing mori kills. If you get a 4k by mori. You shouldnt depip. While it defintely makes thr killers life easier as it removes entire hook states from a survicors life. I dont think the punishment should be so severe that its actually a burden to use. Now keep in mind i DONT want moris meaning easy rank ups. There still should be some reduction but maybe not THAT bad.

    1. Set up killers are already rare and not too strong
    2. This change would be great, because it would actually force surviviors to actively distrupt the killers setup time instead of ignoring him and genrushing.
    3. Obviously something like secondary objectives would be way better, but devs said they dont want to do it. This warmup is a badaid fix for broken maps and gen speeds, and really not much else.
    4. I think you are extaggerating with the buff part, because only a few killers require setup time and it can be easily distrupted by survivior rushing into a kilker, while other killers wouldnt even feel the change. Take a Billy for example. How would he benefit from that? He wouldnt. He would sprint across the map for 20 seconds until he find the survivior, and that would be the end of the warmup.
    5. I feel that moris are an easy way out, just like keys, but I wouldnt be against slight buff to moris caused by perks (Devour, Rancor, etc) becouse those require a buildup and it shouldnt be punished.

I think the bigger problem here is that the dedicated servers are ######### us over and making the swing hit something else. It's worse on console because of the lower sensitivity. Fix those two problems first and then we can see if it's really the turn speed or not.

Secret knowledge: its not only Dedicated Servers, its also Animation Enchancement

Of course you’re right, I’m fine with NOED especially if a killer played well, but at the same time remember just like survivors NOED does tend to aid bad killers who tunnel and FaceCamped with free second or more kills - just as DS would after EGC tend to give bad survivors a free Escapes.

Both of these perks should be fixed so they dont reward you for playing bad.

NOEDs strength should be based on your performance before it triggers, DS should have its timer shortened or be disabled if you are not tunneled

  • Surviviors should be able to spin as fast as they want.

What I dont like, that survivior spinning make Animation Enhancement go "imma hit the wall instead" and you cant do anything about it. Dedicated servers make it even worse.

Devs, just give us an option to switch off the Animation Enchancement in the settings!

This will completely fix this problem and help a bit with some others, for example "the Hook Tech"

  • Autohaven is completely broken now, you can put traps 2m underground as a Trapper, ground collision is completely ######### up.

  • The problem with DS is that it doesnt counter tunneling, it counters playing good and getting multiple downs in a short time in general.

I think the reason you were targetted and tunneled is Object of Obsession, very dangerous pekr that can completly ruin killers playstyle, and that makes them think you are part of an SWF with comms, so you cant really blame them for wanting you out of game fast. Same thing with keys. Keys and OoO are so dangerous, that killer will often tunnel you no matter what.

That said the Killers shouldnt be angry that you use DS, because it is obvious that you have it if you brought OoO.

So yeah, they tunnel you because of OoO, get hit by DS, get angry because they couldnt tunnel you, and thats why they call you trash.

So? If people really like this idea, why would they not be allowed to make their own post about it? The more people that vocalize their feedback and suggestions, the more likely the devs will A) See it and B) Consider it.

The thing about forums is that you shouldnt do an exact same thread is there is one active already.

Also I think devs would rather reply to one top thread with 1k views than to 10 threads about the same thing 100 views each

  • Xbox has m+k support already, its just up to devs to enable it.

You can use controllers to play survivior on PC, so you should be able to use m+k to play killer on consoles

  • There is already a thread about this video

  • @fleshbox said:

Games are starting to be less fun now.

Killers have to try hard to get 4ks now, so they slug. Get Unbreakable, Tentacity, Flip Flop, No Mither, whatever you like, these are all fair perks.

  • @Chop said:

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I mean, you can not go for the unhooked person in the first place. And no, I am pretty sure that it does not happen that often that you really down someone else and then down the guy who just got unhooked. Many cases of DS activating are straight up tunneling.

And even if one of those stories like "I hooked two other people before and then got DSed" are true, then... Well, you dominate the game, apparently. You will be able to afford eating the Stun.

There is a German Fog Whisperer, who is well known for playing toxic and is tunneling a lot (and on the same way complaining a lot). He once mentioned that BT, DS and so on are way too powerful and blablubb. While they are 100% against people like him. No surprise here.

And regarding the DS/Inner Strength Scenario: Picking them up after those 8 seconds will put them back to Injured, wasting their Inner Strength. This is not that bad.

    1. Yes, it happens often. While playing killers like Billy, Nurse, Bubba, Hag, Trapper, Myers, Huntress, Plague, Demogorgon or any killer while using Make Your Choice, you will often be in situations where you downed both the unhooker and the unhooked, because of instadowns, high mobility, traps or ranged attacks. Some of these killers can have multiple people on the ground and there is no reason why that one person shouldnt be one of them.
    2. Thats why DS shouldnt work here. Its supposed to be "anti tunneling" not "anti good player". If you say that "you can afford a stun" then you obviously dont play Killer. Imagine this: 3 people on hook, 1 with DS active. DS guy tries to unhook, but you grab him. You get DSed. DS guy unhooks, then the go and unhook the remaining 2. Now you are back to 0 hooks and now you have 3 DSes active. This is a borderline example, but this is not much different when there is 1 person on hook and 1 with DS. 5 second stun and an instan escape can completly break the game momentum, no matter how welk you are playing. So no, I CANT AFFORD GETTING STUNNED WHILE IM PLAYING WELL
    3. I agree that these people are toxic and shouldnt play like that. But DS punishes not only them, it punishes all good killers like explained above. Borrowed Time is an example of an "anti tunneling" perk done well. It does its job, but at the same time it does not punish the killer for playing well and NOT tunneling.
  • You forgot that when unhooked person gets caught in a trap, and you catch them, its also not tunneling.

Same when you see the unhooked person randomly with an aura reading perk.

I've heard of an amazing counter to this strategy. It's kinda new, but I hear not tunneling completely negates it.

Wow, wait really?! So basically, all I have to do to avoid DS is down and hook 3 other people? And then I can safely get the guy with DS, because it disables after I do that?

Oh wait. No. It doesnt work like that. You get hit no matter what, just because you dared to touch that person again after less than 60 seconds. Doesnt matter that everyone else is downed/hooked/dead. Btw did you know that you can easily tunnel 3 people at the sane time? Or if you are lucky, even all 4?

It makes perfect sense, how dare killers complain about people with DS healing under hook/doing gens under hook/cleansing under hook/disarming traps/getting caught in traps/triggering traps/bodyblocking/######### anything because there are no conditions, DS works no matter what.

When you add competitive modes, though, that mentality does kinda get put on hold. And as far as I've heard, there has been no official M&K for console. I could be wrong, but then again, I've been playing console for 18 years, with Crash Team Racing as my first game back on the PS1, so I could be called a traditionalist in that sense.

There is official support on Xone, no idea how it works on PS, because, like I said, I play on PC.

Cant add it as an URL because it crashers, but here you have xbox support about m+k:

Compared to twitchy FPS games, they really don't and that was kinda the point.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1069281#Comment_1069281

And I've heard this, but I'm also looking at the follow-on effect. If DbD does it, then people will complain about other games not doing it, and like children will go "BUT THEY CAN!" then all of a sudden, the more casual console markets become flooded with M&K elitists.

I'm not saying that ALL M&K people are like this, but enough will infect the higher ranks of anything with a competitive scene.

It's just easier to have a blanket NO and be done with it.

It already started ehen Xbox added m+k support.

Imo, everyone should be able to play on whatever they want, unless it gives big unfair advantage. But if there is controller support for DbD on PC, then there should be m+k support on consoles too.

"Let people play how they want", thats the definition of "casual gaming", I think.

  • Either some comments were deleted, or this guy did a second post about the same thing. Either way its intresting.

  • The best Hex perk.

Not that it means its a particulairly strong perk, but at least its usable. Works wonders vs potatoes, can get you a suprise down or 2 against good surviviors, but most of the time its cleansed before its useful. Try using Haunted Ground to defend it.

Because SWF is not a Bug. Hard to believe that I actually have to say this.

Like I said, its a way to get unfair advantage. Abusing bugs is one of them. Using cheats is other. Using comms is the same, just because its approved by devs doesnt mean its fair. And even SWF without comms has an advantage, because they know eachothers perks, offerings, items, playstyles, ranks and can plan their tactics beforehand. So thats why people dont like SWF.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Because people mistake SWF for being good at the game. If 4 Potatoes are in an SWF, they are still 4 Potatoes. Sure, SWF always give an advantage, but 4 godlike Solo Survivors will give a hard time to a Killer anyway.

Playing in an SWF does not make some bad or mediocre Survivors godlike.

And well, its easy to blame SWF instead of your own incapability. Its not your fault that you lose, because you are not that good as you think you are, no, it must be SWF (even tho, those are 4 Solos you just lost to).

It does not make them gods, but gives them an (UNFAIR) advantage. When Killers uses a bug to get unfair advantage, he gets banned. Same with surviviors. SWF get unfair advantage and are untouchable.

I said it looks like the dbd logo i didn't say it was the same.

My point is that it has no connection, because DBD logo is 4 vertical lines crossed out, this is 3 vertical lines, middle one being wider than others

  • @Zixology said:

Can't wait to get hate for this...

Why are people so quick to jump on the SWF hate train? Anytime something happens in game that they don't like, someone goes off about "SWF Crutch" or "SWF OP" or "Toxic SWF".

I'm not denying that super sweaty SWF groups exist. Just like there are super sweaty Killers. But do you ever think that people just want to come home from work and hop online and play a game with their friends?

When I play Killer, I hope that I'm up against SWF. Why? Cause I know they're gonna be SUPER altruistic to save someone they know, rather than some random they matched up with. Just makes it easier for me to get points and kills. But, go off I guess.

The problem with SWF is that they have 4 items, 4 offerings and 16 perks. And an ability to communicate. Good ######### luck.

  • Time travel sounds like a plausible theme.

The thing on the first coin looks like a door or a locker to me (portal?). But the thing on it is not a DBD symbol, there are only 3 stripes.

The crow has 6 eyes, whatever that could mean. Maybe new killer will make crows useful? Spies from the Shadows meta?

    1. Give Solo surviviors an ability to see eachothers perks in lobby.
    2. Nerf SWFs ability to stack multiple copies of the same perk/offering (except for BP offerings)
    3. Nerf SWFs ability to bring items (eg.: max 1 Ultra/Very Rare item per lobby)

I agree that the gap between solo and swf has to be closed.

Also OP, change the title, because it sounds like you want separate queues.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

This game isn't as reliant on precision aiming, unlike Overwatch or Rainbow Six: Siege, so I'm fine with Dead by Daylight being balanced the same.

As for M&K on console, Get_Flanked has put it best: Unless you have a severely limiting disability, don't use M&K on console. Leave it to PC.

Killer is better on m+k, survivior is better on a controller. You should have a choice on all platforms.

Not that I really care, I play on PC anyway \_(;-;)_/

  • It depends on what do you mean by "immersed"

If it means hiding in a corner, then as a Killer its annoying but also helpful (they are doing nothing), and as a Survivior its even more annoying (because they are doing nothing)

If it means "doing objectives stealthily", then as a Killer its annoying because you cant find them, but its also the most skilled tactic surviviors can do. As a Survivior its the hardest but also the strongest tactic, you can do gens right in the killers face, but he cant even find you.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1068955#Comment_1068955

Read my comments above. The point is that they only have two choices - throw themselves at the killer, or be useless. There is no option to be both stealthy and substantially useful in the early game under this system, and therein lies the problem.

The guy in the video said 50% slowdown, but it doesnt have to be that much. And even with this slowdown, stealth players can still do generators, while waiting for other players to get found or initiate a chase.

Its not possible to not penalize stealth builds AT ALL, because the main problem with early game is that Killer CANT FIND surviviors and start applying pressure. The only other way would be to add secondary objectives, but as devs said, they are not intrested making them, at least not yet.

So basically: secondary objectives are 1000% better idea, but devs dont want it (yet). The idea explained in the video is the BEST bandaid fix possible without adding anything new to the game.

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1068824#Comment_1068824

Unfortunately for people who do enjoy stealth, the game does not really function with stealth as a good idea. Its high risk medium reward, while looping is low risk high reward.

For example, even if you are on a gen and you try to hide the millisecond you hear a terror radius begin, you have like 6 seconds to get where you're trying to go before the killer is at the spot you were. Because you're being stealthy, you didn't run, so you're not moving very far in that 6 seconds at all. Any good killer is going to know the areas to check, knowing someone was just on this generator.

Then, if you're caught, you're dead, as opposed to a looper who is always trying to make distance from the killer. Sometimes stealthy players do evade me. Most of the time, I catch them in a complete dead area because they chose to hide there instead of using the other defensive mechanics of the game.

There's nothing wrong with that playstyle, but it is definitely objectively weaker than looping against good killers.

Also, in the scenario, if you're fleeing every time you hear the faintest heart beat, the 15 times the killer isn't actually coming to you you're spending time not doing generators and generally being useless.

Alert, Technican, Poised (+ Sprint Burst), Lightweight, Urban Evasion, Fixated, No Mither, Iron Will, Calm Spirit, Lucky Break, Dance With Me (+ Lithe), Quick and Quiet. There are quite a few perks for such situations, its certainly doable.

  • When I play survivior and the killer finds me, I ALWAYS run into the corn and run in random directions. After killer loses me, I just blend into the corn and wait until killer goes away. Works every time. Then I can go back to the genrush.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I haven't heard of this before. It might be new. I bet you the devs will take their sweet time patching it since it helps their golden child.

  • @Fibijean said:

They've tried sharing details while they're still being developed in the past, and it's turned out really badly. Most players don't know how to distinguish between "this is something we're thinking about doing" and "this is something we're going to implement in the future". Ideas were interpreted as promises, and then when plans changed down the line, people were angry and disappointed and everyone felt bad. More communication would be nice, but there is an extent to which the community has only itself to blame for the lack thereof.

More surveys could work. They inform you about changes, but without telling you if its really going to be added or not. It also gives players an ability to rate the ideas without being pieces of ######### and creating rage threads every time a change is proposed.

Its incredibly easy to use the buttons... Dbd youtubers seem to 360 just fine, infact they can 360 way faster thanks to the proper sensitivity

Survivior os easier on controller. And thats because survivior does not have to aim, having 100% freedom of movement without having to move your camera is the only advantage of controller over k&m. And the advantage of mouse is the ability to aim precisely. And as I said, surviviors do not have to aim. Just like for example Dark Souls is easier on controller, because precise character movement is more important than precise camera aiming.

  • Heavily depends on what you are changing. Config files and post processing should not be banable, but renders, currencies, progress, or anything that gets sent to the server has a chance of getting you banned. EAC is not too impressive, its both easy to bypass and can ban you for things it shouldnt.

    1. Map size/Gen speed. On some maps its harder to apply pressure because of thevsize, but gen speeds are the same. This is not fair and should be changed. Maybe just increase the speed on small maps and decrease on big maps.
    2. Bugs and lags. Everyone knows how the game looks like right now. No sound, placing traps 5 meters underground, teleporting surviviors, bugged grabs, survivior hitbox lagging behind the survivior, revealin Gostface not working, ... etc.
    3. Animation Enchancement. This one mostly infuriates only me, but I believe its the reason the whole "Hook Tech" exists. Its commonly called "autoaim" or "aim assist" but unlike those things it NEVER helps you. All it ever does is make you miss. That damned thing needs to be fixed ASAP, or if you cant fix it, let players DISABLE it in the settings. Or no, actually let us disable it even if you fix it.
    4. Killer buffs. There are quite a few killers that need buffs, they are just not strong enough. Clown (big power buff or rework), Legion (small power buff), Trapper (reduced RNG and Basekit/Addon balance buff) Pig (reduced RNG and small power buff or rework), Wraith (big Basekit/Addon balance buff), Demogorgon (small power [portals] buff or complete rework), Nurse (small power buff and small addon buff). Thats about it after Doctor rework.
    5. NOED and DS. These 2 perks reward you for playing bad, and this is not fair. DS also counters tunneling, but its abused for other purposes. NOED rewards you for letting surviviors complete their objective, doing gens. DS rewards you for letting the killer find you, and it does not matter how many other people were killed/hooked in the meantime. NOEDs effect should be affected by your performance, for example number of people hit/downed/hooked. DS should be reduced/disabled if the survivior is no longer tunneled, for example is doing gens/cleansing/healing/unhooking, is the last survivior, gets caught in a trap, gets fully healed and when he lets his location be revealed to the killer. Timer can be stopped during a chase and slowed while slugged if it helps against tunneling.
    6. Perk balance. Some perks are too weak, or just can be used only in rare situations. KILLER: Cruel Limits, Mindbreaker, Spies from the Shadows, Monstrous Shrine, Bloodhound, Predator, Shadowborn, Remember Me, Fire Up, Bamboozle, Coulrophobia, Beast of Prey, Territorial Imperative, Blood Echo, Zanshin Tactics, Fruitive Chase, Hangmans Trick, Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Hex: Third Seal, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Iron Maiden, Lightborn, Overcharge, Overwhelming Presence, Thrilling Tremors (now that we know how it really works), Unrelenting. SURVIVIOR: Autodidact, Boil Over, Breakdown, Buckle Up, Calm Spirit, Camraderie, Dark Sense, Deja Vu, Distortion, Diversion, Flip Flop, Left Behind, Lightweight, Mettle of Man, No Mither, Object of Obsession (needs complete rework), Premonition, Saboteur, Second Wind, Slippery Meat, Small Game, Sole Survivior, This Is Non Happening, Tentacity, Wake Up, Were Gonna Live Forever, Windows of Opportunity. THATS A LOT. Im not saying all of these perks are bad, but in my opinion, they are underperforming, and I bet their pick rate is low. This is especially true for the Killer perks.
    7. Matchmaking. Devs know about this one, so just a daily reminder: MATCHMAKING VALUES HAVE TO BE AT LEAST PARTIALLY VISIBLE TO ALL PLAYERS TO ENSURE ITS FAIR AND BALANCED.
    8. DCs need to be adressed. More punishment for DCing and more rewards for remaining. Ensuring that no pips will be lost by the ones remaining should be a standard.
    9. Keys and Moris. These items allow for unfair plays. Key should open the hatch only after it has been closed, Mori should be usable only on surviviors that reached struggle phase (except for Cypress)
    10. Toolboxes, Items and Addons in general. More expansive items/addons shouldnt assure you a victory. If nothing is done, going back to 1 rarity of every item/addon could become a neccesity. Grind, RNG and balance of matches needs to be looked into.

I really havent read dbds lore in a while so this is my general idea of the hag's story.

Yes. His name will be The Trasher (prototype name: The Smasher). One day when he went to evict Feng's grandmother from her apartment, because she wasnt paying the bills, the Grandmother (who actually was The Hag) ambushed him with a trash can and threw him to the Garbage Truck. Now The Vegneful Trasher Who Was Killed By Fengs Grandmother Who Later Became The Hag, roams in the realm of his possesion, haunting and evicting tenants, smashing and trashing them to death. His weapon is a Smashy Sledgehammer and he wears The Trashcan on his head. His power, The Trashing allows him to destroy walls for some reason.

    Or something like this

But hey, as long as the shoelaces on that Meg skin are tight and Myers' pipe has the correct ratio of blood to rust then all is good with the game.

Do you realize how many things effect the emblems in the game. It's not as simple as one line of code. Even harder when you start to try telling a program to ignore other numerals because the game has already been started and people already have received points.

God, now I understand when people say "The dev's must get tired of seeing people talk on the forums like they know what they are talking about, but are not the ones programming the game". I'm not even programming the game, and I know how much coding needs to go into ranking systems. Sorry that this is blunt, but please understand that it is a lot more complicated than one line of code.

You were the one that started the whole "this is easier to code than that" without having the knowledge.

Im not talking about points toward emblems, Im talking about EMBLEM POINTS. After all the emblem calculations are done, you are granted Embkem points, and amount of your Emblem Points is always between 0 and 16. 0 is at no emblems, 16 is at 4 Iridescent emblems. So, if amount of your Emblem Points is less than 9, it would be set to 9.

I am pretty sure the Devs know exactly what they will do after your informative Post.

That's a whole extra side. That would increase your setting time by 33%. Are you sure you want that?

I think OP means that Hag needs a bugfix, but that might be just a big brain interpretation.

    Hag+Buggy= Haggy

Yea he is far off from ST lore sadly. I personally think Shred suits him though.

Shred is cool, portals are not that terrible too.

But his perks...Oof... I think he is the only killer whose highest level perks are worse than lower level lol. Surge is lvl 30, Mindbreaker lvl 35 and Cruel Limits are lvl 40. And clearly Surge>Mindbreaker>Cruel Limits.

That's a lot easier to code, than guaranteeing a black pip part way into a match when everyone already has points for emblems.

Please don't make me have to write paragraphs explaining how coding works.

It already works like this when the match is cancelled.

And no, its not harder to code. You just check if the point value is <9. If its true, set the point value to 9. And yes, 9 points stands for 0 pips in every rank, except for ranks 17-20 where it stands for +1 pip, but it does not matter.

  • Thats why I said that DEMOGORGON AS A DBD KILLER IS FINE

    And I said this twice.

I am just displeased that they did not do him justice like they did with Myers for example.

Giving survivor the exact points of ensure a black pip in any emblem catagories. Will only ensure them to pip and double pip with other points added. That is in addition to survivors will dc to ensure the other survivors do not depip in a match that they did poorly in.

Killers however. When a player dcs, they lose 2 hooks and a sacrifice from the sacrifice emblem, which in most cases results in a depip - since in purple and red ranks it requires 3 or more gold emblems to black pip.

Survivor does not have emblems that rely solely on sacrifices in the game. They can always make up the points elsewhere. Killer however does not and cannot.

Survivors know this, and it has become common knowledge, where I see it in a majority of my games (and several others)(because they like to rub it in, in the end game screen), which is why it needs a hotfix. Now.

Now can we please get back onto the discussion of killers being penalized for survivors dcing. Enough with people begging for survivors to get more freebies.

Inb4 someone ignorantly says "you're asking for killers to get freebies". No I am demanding that a dc counts as a full sacrifice instead of just a few points so that the killer is not forced to depip as a result of a survivor dcing. Two very different things.

Dont assume that "giving black pip" always means "giving enough point for black pip".

There are other ways. For example, you can get a black pip no matter how many points you have, just like when a match is cancelled. If you had more than enough points for black pip anyway, despite the DCs, then the game does nothing.
