The System censors out people names, because that info does not need to be shared in post game chat.

    Its working as intended.

Is working as intended ment to be this lame?

They are fine with toxicity. They think that insults and people being really nasty to one another is an integral part of online gaming, so long as you don't use slurs or threats.

Which I mostly agree with. What I'm not ok with is the double standard of them censoring the chat in such a horrendous way.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3003996#Comment_3003996

That was meant tongue in cheek and you are right, BUT its also true that a real conversation is rather difficult, because you can directly talk about a player or character or certain tactics like tbagging etc and must dance around this subjects, while a lot of smacktalking isn't censored at all. So it either makes you wonder, or it figures, right?

And that doesnt even mention that the censor does nothing about the really nasty players tell others to 1 hook them selves. If you catch my drift

  • @Slowpeach said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3003949#Comment_3003949

There's a lot of double standards in how they choose to administer the rules in this game. That's their right sure but it seems and is arbitrary. In some cases it honestly feels like they are fueling toxicity to the point where it's hard to tell whether it's complicity or incompetence. Don't get me wrong, this sort of thing isn't easy to manage and I haven't come across a solution yet that works well but could they be doing better? Definitely.

On a personal level at least because I play killer I can generally control the game a bit more. I choose not to kill most of the time unless a tome requires it or someone is being a real jerk.

I'm about the same, more jerks lately since the anniversary.

  • @Akumakaji said:

At the end of the day you can't have a meaningful conversation at the post game chat and discuss any interesting or cool situations that happened during the game, so the only real option left is either "gg wp" or the much more prefered smacktalk and throwing slurs and insults back and forth as its tradition in online gaming. This will teach them!!1

Thats not true. I've had plenty of wholesome chats in the games endgame chat. They are far outnumbered to the nasty ones for sure, but they exist I assure you.

  • @Slowpeach said:

It's to stop calling someone out I assume.

Oh this Leon was such a bad player. They just walked around doing nothing did totems and didn't do any generators and got hooked twice.

Meanwhile the Leon is trying to do find and cleanse totems for tome.

Of course it's pretty clear who they are talking about whether Leon is censored or not. If you want to be a jerk to someone the censor is not going to stop that from happening. It's just a nuisance the way it is.

Some people need to get called out after the match. It hurts nothing imo and maybe the bad player can use it as a learning experience. I also hate this mentality when swf is a thing. We have like 1/10th of the community who go out of their way to use this game as a bully sim then gaslight people. The devs dont do anything about that and havent spoken out on that, but we are the bad people for calling out bad plays in the endgame chat or using curse words in a game about murdering people. smh

If you call hurting the grind by hoarding cakes, some which have gone on unused for 3 years and forward- instead of going to a better community cause "butthurt" then that's fine.

yes I would call it that. Your grind is no one elses issue except yours. You are trying to push to punish other players just because they wont share their offerings. Kind of petty

  • @agonizing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002211#Comment_3002211

Believe what you want at this point, I stand by my decision to burn my cakes and my opinion that those that go unused for the year should be expired for said reasons.

so i called it. You're just butthurt people are hoarding

  • @agonizing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002094#Comment_3002094

It is not that they will not be used, more so that they benefit no one by sitting unused for long periods of time, sometimes years (3rd year cakes are sitting around unused 3 years later). If and when they eventually get burned is not the question, but rather why they should be burned within a year to benefit all players until the next event occurs.

Sounds like to me you're just spiteful people arn't using them so you want to take away their ability to do so

  • @Crazewtboy said:

My only issue with the event itself is the envelopes. Half the time the map is so big and I can't even get a full rotation. I have made laps around maps and never found my envelope and it is kind of annoying

My best advice is dont actively look for them. That way if you dont find them you're not disappointed. When you find them it'll be a pleasant surprise. Worst case scenario play killer and throw the match looking for it. You got till the 30th so dont sweat it so much

  • @agonizing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002049#Comment_3002049

Incorrect, my proposal would allow you to use anniversary cakes until the next year when the new cakes are available. This would encourage people to spend their currency and not contribute to the grind.

To counter your argument, I don't play Myers very much, but the devs have allowed me to sit on over 80 BBQ Invitation Offerings that have not been useable for years.

It hurts nothing to leave them active. What you're saying is that people will willing not use them for the specific reason to make the grind last longer. Once again I dont see the logic

  • I see zero logic used here. If i want to use a year 3 anniversary cake now it literally hurts no one. Same for if I want to just hold onto them. So you want to disable them? What does that do? Except take them away from people intending to use them

  • Yes there is a lot of terrible people who play this game, but to me its like 50/50. There are a lot great chill people who play too. My current issue is the devs actively encourage gaslighting with their treatment of swfs and mmr values. So it almost gives the terrible side encouragement to act like they do.

  • Theres nothing wrong with bt or ds. They should just make bt basekit already. It essentially is at this point its just taking up a perk slot per survivor. Even if they dont most treat it as if they do and play around it. DS has been substantially nerfed and I only see it as anti tunnel now. I agree with the majority on dead hard. I just hope when they nerf or rework it that it remains on par with SB and Balanced.

  • @HeehoRacketeer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000257#Comment_3000257

By that logic then no one would run them, and yet as SimplyPixelated06 pointed out: Ruin is in the top 3 most used killer perks. So then everyone who got it placed there are fools for using a hex perk? A useless hex perk would be something like The Third Seal and Huntress Lullaby. Blood Favor used to be one just as much, but was given some more usability after 5.3.0 released. Not all hex perks are useless because of them just being a hex perk.

You're kidding right? Since when does use % mean that its good? Self care is in the top and it objectively is worse then most if not all other healing perks. Even some info perks help heal you better then self care. Ruin up all match can be impactful, at high level play its is rarely up for longer then a minute. Its this that lumps them all together for me. Thats why I suggested they should all have a weaker residual effect.

  • @HeehoRacketeer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2999725#Comment_2999725

Ruin can be lost with the first minute of a trial, NOED is only good for swingback plays after the final gen is repaired, and Devour requires 3 survivors to be unhooked while you're 24+ meters away before it gets good, and all can be gotten rid of unless you got a good spot.

That's the flaw for hex perks as a whole, not just Haunted Grounds and Undying. The value of HG is on dependent on if you can make the most of it, as exposed is a powerful status. Undying paired with Ruin is still a powerful combo since you don't lose Ruin immediately.

yes they all suck. That is more or less my point lol

  • @fogdonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000053#Comment_3000053

Interesting, I usually never see the same players again.

yeah its rare to come across the same players, but in solo q that list has saved me a headache game on quite a few occasions

  • Hell no. I keep a list of sandbaggers and people who have thrown hard. I will not play with these people again, nor should I be expected to

  • There are no cakes. Only flan

And that shiz is all mine to hoard.

  • i also wouldnt mind all of the above

  • @HeehoRacketeer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2999276#Comment_2999276

I'd argue that Haunted Ground and Undying should also be counted as justifiable hexes. 60 seconds of all survivors being Exposed is good (maybe not when compared to NOED, but that's because it's NOED) and giving the first cleansed hex (except Undying) an extra life while preserving any tokens (if any) is also a good second chance.

i dont think so. You're still spending a perk slot for them. For potentially no value

  • The issue with all hex perks including ruin is that they are hex perks. Completely unreliable and arguably unviable at high end play. No hex's power, baring devour and noed, is justifiably a hex imo. Sure ruin can be if it stays up but there are now waaaaay better alternatives. Imo Hex's need residual effects so that when that totem that lit up next to a gen or survivor spawn inevitably goes you still get something out of equipping the perk.

  • being blinded while mid animation hurts nothing

  • Sounds like a swf to me lol

The biggest way to counter a sabo team is anticipating it and responding to it properly. Slug and bait the sabos. Usually if done right they kill themselves. Where I have massive issues is this plus a no mither group. Absolutely infuriating, and it has no counter that I'm aware of.

  • @eisenbuns said:

I'm a huntress main and I really appreciate you saying this. I felt like I was going crazy but like... every time I get this map, I honestly just stand tf still and let survivors do gens because it sucks all the joy out of playing my girl. Why do the TREE TOPS have collision??? PLEASE. :(

same huntress is miserable on that map. I cannot stand the bushes.

  • devs dont care about this. Been an issue forever and they've shot down attempts at fixing it and now ignore it. They probably think its fine. Which it isnt but if you fix survivor objective speeds. You then have to address tunneling and camping because they will be op if surv objective is increased.

THEN you have to deal with the gen slowdown perks and meta. They keep doubling down with the perks associated with the gens so those will have to be toned down or do something else.

My opinion, to much work for them. Thats why they are doubling down on the meta.

  • I 100% agree and have said this since the new overlay. When they said it was "to prevent tunneling" i audibly laughed and thought how out of touch are they? How do you come to that conclusion if you know how this game works? I seriously want to know the thought process because it blows my mind that the devs said that.

  • Just made a post on this. Should have looked and i would have tossed it in here instead. Whoops

  • I saw this was needed on another post. So heres the data.

    DeadByDaylight-backup-2022.06.07-21.16.04.log

  • Another lesser known maybe not as impactful thing this causes. If a survivor wiggles just right back and forth it can throw off an autoaim if you dont lunge for it. I think its cause because of a short attack might hit if everything was moving forward but if you swing when they wiggle the auto aim will correct to where it thinks they will be. Then the survivor will return to center of that wiggle and you will miss because auto aim "corrected" it to the side. So if it didnt exist I would swing forward and hit no matter where they wiggled. Lunging prevents it. I know its autoaim doing this because it turns my camera when i didnt turn it. Long winded I know. Anyone else ever experience this?

Except the cages and Final judgement gives you same amount of point in the sacrifice emblem like the reverse beartraps, only one that doesn't it Myers tombstone the cages is most probably PH's own way of sacrifice, like lorewise Jigsaw traps are for Amanda

Does Pinhead really steals them? or just tortures them to death and then they return back to the realm

Like I said thats the idea behind PH actively foiling the entity's trials. Like other killers moris they arnt sacrificing to the entity. Only PH does it on sacrifices too. Thats why he stands out more. Yes I interpret it as Pinhead stealing them away to his world to torture. Its more conjecture and flavor until we get anything concrete. There might be something supporting it in the massive amount of lore in the tomes but I am not aware of it.

  • The idea is that PH's mechanics directly interfere with the entities rules for the trials. Denying the entity the hook states and kills so he can instead kill them his way. I think if thats true the moris as a whole are kind of against the "entities rules". If true another big offender is pinhead since he steals them away from the trial with his mori.

If they’re off the hook at generally the same time you would have unhooked them, how are you any more or less at risk to get hooked yourself? You’re just salty, should probably only play killer if you’re going to abandon teammates on hook. Or in a four-man SWF that feeds off that level of saltiness.

I never said that I did that. I do sometimes. All of that is irrelevant my points still stand and you're not bringing anything to counter them then being salty yourself because this bs behaviors being called out. They are bming and can be throwing by doing this. So I understand when other players decide to bm back. If these players know the risk to them doing this, ie being left on hook, and are willing to risk it. Then they are intentionally throwing.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Some of y'all are what's so wrong with solo queue. You're really gonna leave a teammate on hook and throw the match, because they took a 4% chance for fun - assuming you were going to unhook them if it failed? Reasons to 4%:

    • That survivor gets the survival BP - typically the hardest survivor category to score in and max out
    • Self-unhooking can prevent a few killer perks from activating (Make Your Choice) or gaining power (Devour Hope)
    • Fun, built-in feature in the game

You're trying to paint it in a light to justify it all of that doesnt take into consideration your rescuer. Which what everyone has an issue with. You need to be told the same thing the other person did so here ya go. Read, Learn

You dont seem to think that deep let me spell it out further. The rescuer is going out of their way, taking time away from other objectives, risking being caught by the killer to save them. So when they hop off of hook it makes all that risk meaningless and wastes the rescuers time. Not only that but I want to rank up every month to iri 1. This robs me of altruism and potential objective time, and in the worst case could cost me hook states

Yes, I was around from first iteration of ds I think, the one you drop mamy times survivor to make they not ds you. However, the entitlment from some strange people here, obviously literally functional analphabet is clear. These users repetedly suggest me to not tunnel etc, supposing I only play killer (I play both sides, devotion 10) .And that this post, even if I report devs words (they can change their mind) from anniversary streaming sayng they will nerf/rework most used meta perks, they respond to me Ds will not be touched. Not to devs. Do You guys are tryng to convince me, a nobody, instead of talk to devs? Why you stop talking or change argument when I remember you devs words? We will se next ptb.

I think you are to caught up in the us vs them stuff. I was genuinely trying to help. My intention was to throw my 2 cents in and maybe offer a different perspective. I'm pretty sure devs dont listen to any 1 person on here, they go off of general consensus if they even want our input. If you think for a second that the devs are going to ignore all the negative feedback on here to your purposed idea then you're fooling yourself. Ds is in a good spot. If you claim to know old DS then you already know this.

  • @Prex91 said:

I cant imagine so much mix of entitlement can manifest in this post, where I simply gave a suggestion of what a nerf/rework of the perk can be, cause devs already said they will nerf/rework all the mets perks, and look at core design problems (like tunneling if needed). But there is a mix of educate response, focusing on ds vs tunneling problems, but rejecting the big possibility of a ds change exist. And then some not civil entitlement individual that will do anything to defend their little toy petk that carry them, cause bullyng noobs fearing learn to play instead of press E for distance. I dont really want to think about poor devs tryng to make their best to balance am asymmetric, and if really metà will Be nerfed (and hope camp and genrushing fix) I will laugh when entitlement survivor will eat take Off their hairs from their heads. Costructive dialogue with some individuals are impossibile, they are too much of a part.

Were you not around for old ds? Its already been nerfed plenty. Its no longer abusable. If a survivor hides in a locker to avoid getting tunneled they arnt doing gens. There are plenty of counters to this locker play. Maybe you should be spreading your presence to gens or other survivors instead of forcing a tunnel. I say that as a tactical thing not an anti tunneling thing. The more time you spend trying to force a tunnel the more time the other survivors have to beat you.

If it is getting to the point where you are eating a ds because of a locker play nine times out of ten its too early to be tunneling someone out, or Its so late into the game that if eating that ds is so detrimental then you already lost. Either way Its so much more tolerable now compared to past iterations. Like I said before the best suggestion I have is to play around it and analyze how you spend your time vs how much time you are giving all the survivors.

Yeah I can do that too, but I have never once went from spawn to the box immediately without lethal. not guessed the area. right to it, and he did it every time it spawned as well.
