While I do agree in principal it's extremely hard to do. Everyone loves saying "buff solo to swf and then bring killers up!!" But what exactly is this mysterious buff to killers?

Even with just 10 seconds added to gens we see doomposting about forever plague/legion so we can't touch gen timers. Buffing chase means more oppressive/unfun moments. I don't see what knob we can possibly tweak to universally bring all killers up if we turn solos into swfs in terms of info provided.

Yeah thats why i made this post to try to start those conversations. Shake the tree and see what falls out.

  • @Jarky said:

It is one of the things I think should just be basekit by default (perhaps without the killer aura reading) as well as I agree that BHVR shouldn't artificially 'nerf' SWFs, but also that buffing solo Q by giving them more information that SWFs can have is a good step towards bringing them closer together as experiences.

Whilst I don't think all the information SWF can give to each other should be somehow given to solo queues, being on hook in particular is one of the biggest 'differences' between solo q and SWFs, as nobody knows if anyone's going for the save, so they can find themselves in awkward situations where they're questioning if they should go save or let go of the gen. Then they'll find that all 3 of them are there and no one's on gens, or they think someone else is going but actually their hooked friend is now second phasing.

I run it all the time if I'm going to solo Q regardless but I think in general a healthy step for Solo Q would be adding some form of kindred by default.

Yes basically my reasoning to a T, but theres a likelihood that itll throw the game off balance so killers will need something to compensate for it. Like how they did the gen speeds, brutal strength, and STBFL this upcoming patch. So I think that if it comes in killer will need something similar to that. What it is i have no idea. There is a chance that it wont effect the balance at all, but it needs testing in a ptb.

  • I like playing as him and against him. One of the best killers they came out with imo. Some goooood turky

  • Love this map. People who dont like it usually refuse to learn it and when they are on it just complain the whole time instead of learning it. 1/2 the Dbd community in a nutshell

You can report exactly the same way as with any other platform. As other platforms do not allow change of names as easily as Steam does, you can use the in-game name when reporting players from console or Epic/Stadia etc.

    Thank you. Much appreciated

  • @ZVom said:

What do you mean by not being able to report them?

I can report everyone I want.

If you have any issues with playing with different platform just disable crossplay :)

They dont do anything with the in game report option. Its useless. You need to be able to send a report with video evidence. Its why they need a steam ID.

Someone suggested blood driping down the portraits. That would of been cool. The devs have so many design options for portraits and they pick a snapchat filter

I would like that more then glitter

  • @NemmyMan3000 said:

Because they're just trying to redirect players into not boycotting some of the perk changes.

I dont see how thats even remotely related tbh. Me not liking the p3 reward doesnt make me not like some of the perk changes, and the playerbase as a whole seems pretty unimpressed with the perk changes as a whole.

  • @Freddy96 said:

Every hag is the same tbh, lose 3 gens, bring someone to basement, profit from scroll wheel, get extra kills from noed. One hag or another there's not much depth to this killer

not every hag uses a scroll wheel. Some hag players got that hooked quick fire pinky for the ctrl

  • I think itd be cooler if they let you pick a cosmetic from the store for free. Seems fair to me. Obviously licensed would have to be different. Or maybe design a special skin for each character only atainable for lvl100. I'm already not that big of a fan of the bloody cosmetic, but I'm open to full iri so long as it looks better then that. Just seems like a snap firework when I think that effort is more deserving of a 1/4 stick if not the full stick.

  • I'm not discounting your experience but I actually think the number is way down. Last year I ran into hackers every 5ish game or so. In the past 2 months I've ran into 1 hacker. The weird thing is that most the hackers I saw were survivors last year and the one i saw this year was a killer.

  • 60+ per killer 30+ per survivor 59. So around 2160+ Thats with using flan every trial minus the first one. Now I'm taking a break until next chapter drop lol. There is a such thing as to much dbd

  • it is still survivor sided, but not by much. I'm fairly satisfied with it minus that vault bug. They seriously need to do something about that bug.

  • @Jarky said:

It's kinda like a 'Group' you can create that you can invite members to, that you typically give a name. In other games, you would create this group, invite people to it (normally many people, dozens-hundreds), and you can view your guild, chat in it, invite people to game, etc. You can also search for guilds to join, and some have additional benefits.

That's not to say DBD would have all these if it were implemented, but typically it's a group you can invite many people into and then view/invite/chat to those people for games.

Oh that sounds neat. Thanks for the reply

once again you've missed the point.

why do you think people call demogorgon "balanced" beceause hes easy to play against and hes really not a threat once you learn how to play against him,he's not strong and is not in control of the chase.(which is what most killers in this game lack)

hmm I don't remember saying that not having a anti loop makes the killer balanced ? I said that most killers with anti loop in this game are boring and too repetitive just look at Artist for example, but whatever.

And no I disagree with you a good Blight is not as oppressive as a good Nurse if you think that way then we're probably not playing the same game,Nurse was always her own tier no other killers come to her potential even Blight,Nurse plays her own game and she's in her own league.

You don't enjoy killers that you consider too "oppressive" even tho there are so many counterplays to the Blight he's a strong killer but you can play around his power if you're a good survivor,Nurse doesn't care about your skill as a survivor she leaves little counterplay with her range add-ons she's the only killer I would really consider oppressive.

Blight is a balanced killer with a well designed power as I've said his add-ons are problematic and should be nerfed, otherwise he's fine.

maybe buffs the others killers that desperately needs help you know,no reason to nerf Blight.

No I dont think I missed your point. I get what you're trying to say generally. Reason why I brought up the anti loop thing is because i was confused as to why you were bringing them up in the first place.

I can counter nurse and blight at about the same rate. When we talk about balance we are not just talking about the top players either. Obviously when these killers are brought up against aaa teams or strong swfs they are more balanced, but thats niche and not true as a whole.

Since they are buffing killers in general there is a better argument to be bringing up nerfs to the stronger killers to bring them down to the rest of the pack. Maybe its just the add ons being used and the exploits. I can agree that maybe we tone those down and see where hes at. Then see if he needs to be adjusted. I still think that him being 110 wouldnt hurt him that much and would only reward blights who utilize him properly.

No, it got worse after the RE chapter. RE chapter was terrible. Now it's gotten better since RE but it's still worse than it was when the post was first made

    what a rollercoaster lol

  • @Ayamir said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3033451#Comment_3033451

You need to understand that him being strong doesn't mean he's not balanced.

Yes he's a S tier killer we all know that but how does that makes him unfair or broken to go against ?

Some of his add-ons are BS and needs to be nerfed but his basekit is fine and he doesn't ignore god pallets and windows as far as I know ?

he's nothing like Nurse the only overpowered stupid killer in this game is Nurse and she needs to get nerfed or completely removed from the game that would be so healthy for DBD and its playerbase.

Blight is balanced, his power is well designed and not boring,he's not Anti-Loop#8769 killer where you just hold W and predrop, there is more to this killer where you have to use your brain and predicts his bumps.

yes most people use his power in chase because no point in being a basic M1 looping killer, there are some maps where using your power is bad and you have to chase as an M1 talking about RPD and Lerys where there are many windows/tight doorways and survivors can easily play around your rushes so I see no reason to nerf his movement speed to 110.

Blight is what a killer should be not like Legion or fckn Clown.

Spirit doesn't have limited movement she can move fast and without any restrictions shes so easy to play with her busted add-ons MDR and dried cherry blossom,so yes she should stay at 110 and Blight at 115.

Yes being ahead of the pack that far makes him not balanced. In an ideal world he and nurse and blight are brought down to what we consider A. Then and only then do i think theres any wiggle room to call him balanced. Certainly not now.

A good blight is just as oppressive as a good nurse. No add ons. What is usually considered a balanced killer is demo. I tend to agree. Decent map control and ok antiloop. Unlike blight whos got insane map mobility and in conjunction good map control. Then he doesnt have anti loop but is better in chase then demo? Who has anti loop built in. I really dont get where you're coming from with the thought process that just because its not called anti loop makes it "balanced".

We will see what happens when they remove his hug tech how much less effective he is, but then you also have blights abusing his dpi 180 flicks. I dont enjoy oppressive killers and blight is one of those killers.

  • Holy poo this tread is still going lmao. Has the performance gotten better since it was made?

  • @Ayamir said:

No we don't need to nerf Blight by decreasing his movement speed to 110.

Blight is one of the most balanced killers in the game and probably one of the best killers BHVR ever released he's well designed and has fun counterplay with fun techs/mechanics.

He's a strong S tier killer but he's not braindead unlike Spirit or Nurse.

if you want to nerf Blight, nerf C33 and Alchemist ring don't need to touch anything else about him he's fine rn his add-ons are problematic that's all.

they're already making him less fun to play by removing hug tech which was already easily avoidable by mediocre survivors,it was hilarious trying to juke him.

We're gonna see braindead Nurse and boring spirit even more after this midchapter patch and you want to nerf Blight?

ty but no,he should stay at 115 no reason to make him 110.

He is no where near the most balanced killer in the game. Hes top of the pack. Nurse and him are outliers. The 110 argument is interesting to me because I dont think itll effect good blight plays just punish bad ones.

  • I find it absolutely bizarre they had a section in the patch notes labeled camping and tunneling and only kind of addressed tunneling. Nothing in there about camping at all.

Though people just make games about it anyways and take creative liberties. The best I can think of is that they do research on the wiki and make something of that and perhaps talk to a few of the admins.

Its definitely possible for them to get it into dbd. Ultimately depends how much the devs want to put time into figuring out how to license it in properly. It would have an insane draw considering how hot of a topic it is right now in internet horror right now.

I think the idea of a killer that mimics the survivors/environment would be cool but it wouldn't work in dbd. That power would be useless against people with headsets.

It doesnt mimic them. It mimics their voices, badly. Its a horror aspect not something to be translated into gameplay. Its awesome. Now that I've thought about it maybe it could be incorporated into its TR?

  • @FilthyLegionMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3033406#Comment_3033406

Unfortunately, there's the issue with finding the person that originally created the concept. Didn't the whole thing originate from a 4chan post?

yup exactlly what i said to the op. Same issue slender kind of has.

  • @FilthyLegionMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3033391#Comment_3033391

Of course. There just needs to be a main building or any sort of landmark. They're all indoor maps so that's a plus for killers.

Theres an area that looks like a small subdivision with 2 tunnels on either end. If they make it small and the houses packed in tight I think it could work as a center. Then you could have other offshoots be the weird locations connected by the yellow backrooms.

Theres one in particular that I liked that was trying to emulate the outside wall of a building filled with windows. That ones creepy to me for some reason.

  • @FilthyLegionMain said:

I remember making a post about this before and I bet a few others have. People said that it would be too repetitive but the eerieness would be nice.

It doesnt have to be repetitive though. There are several sectors within the backrooms.

  • I like it a lot. Theres a bunch you could do with it. Like slender its most likely got some hurdles to jump through though. Also I think the default creature is a bit dull and the creepiest aspect of it is the mimicry. Which imo wouldnt translate well into dbd.

Edit: after I thought about it for a bit I think the mimicry might translate well into the TR.

  • @neb said:

Because they want you to play in a certain way that is "fair" and "fun" :)

(they want you to purposefully make the wrong decision so they can get the advantage)

Yeah I kind of know that. I just felt like sharing and I dont actually think there are any good arguments.

  • Yes. The whole risk reward thought process to hexs is just bad for hexs balancing minus devour. I've said it a bunch but if they are planning on nerfing hexes they should give them lesser residual effects to combat the fact that they can be cleansed so fast.

  • I hate the animation. I think they need a new one for the short duration and distance. Looks goofy

  • @vanGlasse1 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029683#Comment_3029683

yeah I see it mostly coming as a Paragraph with only the survivor, a killer would be quite tricky imo to get not only because of the gimmick but also since in the movie itself it's not like the monster has a specific appearence to use as base (like we have Pinhead, Freddy, Sadako and others).

The Thing takes various forms but generally serves the same function. All the forms could just be skins. I think my favorite was the lady from the prequel that turned with her chest burst open and head hanging back. Creepy. I think if they do anything The Thing they have to bring in the organism as the killer. Otherwise itd be a dud imo.

  • My favorite film but i dont think it would work in dbd. The only thing that I can think of that would work is to make it so that the killer converts survivors to the other side, but swf or altruistic survivors can ruin that. Unless they turn into ai.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328695/iri-is-censored-remove-the-censor-please

They just need to get rid of the post-game chat altogether. Its only purpose is to serve as a platform for toxicity. Best case scenario is that people will just say “gg”, which is completely pointless.

Thats not true at all. Its like 50/50. I've had great matches where we were complementing each others plays. I've had people ask me about builds im running or I'm asking how they are using their perks. There is valuable discourse in the endgame chat.

  • Face camp is censored

sometimes just camp by itself is censored.

If it wasnt apparent I'm just going to drop all the dumb cencored words off here lol

  • I have actually noticed recently there are way less hackers. Anyone else?

  • @Mandy said:

The fact that there's a debuff when more than 1 survivor is repairing a generator, is also shown on the progress bar of the generator - it's red as opposed to yellow (red negative, yellow positive).

It's actually not preferable for survivors to all work on the same generator from a survivor gameplay perspective either, it's far more effective to all split up and do solo generators and put more pressure on the killer.

While true at the start this thought process doesnt take into account targeting center gens or focusing out a 3 gen before it becomes a 3 gen. Its most powerful when theres 1 gen left.

  • yes the us vs them argument is very tiresome. Sad part is that I think some who play into that dont understand it and others bait it.

  • Hindered as long as you're infected is way more powerful then you might think

  • I wouldnt mind another week to not sweat getting flan for all my survivors. I think some of them arnt getting full stacks of flan at this rate

  • @Ayamir said:

    you know what's funny?

They buffed Nurse in the same patch Slinger got nerfed.

    what a joke man.

I share your anger I really hate the TR radius change he was already weak against W keying still don't understand why they put a fat 32m TR on a slow 110 killer with no mobility whatsoever just doesn't make any sense to me.

Monitor and Abuse was not even THAT strong on him yeah it caught unaware survivors off guard but survivors who were paying attention to their surroundings and always keep an eye out for the Killer were not affected by M&A at all.

His ADS feels so slow and clunky they completely butchered him...

I still enjoy playing him tho the Iri coin can be efficient if you're a good shot and I love his chase music.

And theres zero hope for them to revert the TR change now that spine chills getting nerfed into the ground

Heck, if the final net ends up 25% that’s still a big win. 👍

I agree. I hope its more, but I feel like the burn out is real bad lately. Survivors need something else to do outside of gens imo

  • Thats just the result of a perfect storm. It's 50% the event 25% new chapter and 25% upcoming changes. Who knows how many will stay after the events over but i predict a huge drop off because of burn out. maybe 25% of the gain stays thats my guess

  • @Norhc said:

Ban policy was changed during Asylum exploits. Soft bans were created due to the amount of players we were reporting and getting banned back then. They unbanned the exploiters that weekend.

Once sooft bans were created, the bans became 1-3 day type of timeouts or "soft bans"

Now, its all censored so you cant even report them, and no bans.

yeah not a fan. Id rather talk and not protect the crap people from getting banned. Firm believer in Darwinism

  • I think it needs to be more valid on more then just a handful of killers. Thats the thing that irritates me. Trickster for example loses stacks on a knife throw not a damage state. Which is bs. There are other examples of this but the perk is niche and not very good. I'd like to see it become more usable.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

having a censor means you cant get them banned.

    it is by design

As in they would rather not let us talk then ban nasty people?

Thats my theory troo. Even though banning people who act like that earn their ban and should be. Cant ban the customer though right?

  • I dont have a screen shot but there a The Thing quote in there. "Why don't we just wait here for a little while, see what happens". My favorite horror film I would love to see it come into the game but I seriously doubt it ever will.

The difference is that the other killers have to literally bribe the NTT for the privilege of killing survivors on their own (in the form of the offerings), except for PH (and now Sadako). At this point you could argue that Spirit also does that with Rancour but that can be assumed to be just Rin's rage as an onriou being so intense she temporarily severs the NTTs leash over her (Anna does the same with Beast of Prey).

    I like that thought process

  • I experience this on both sides. I could be wrong but I think it could be also linked to that vault bug that instantly vaults you over at like 10x the speed

  • whoops I ment to click the smile. Why are votes permanent in polls? lol
