It'll probably be run more just because it'll be easier to pull off. And it'll still pair nicely with object.
-
Nemesis, huntress, bubba
-
I used to run thana and DL on plague ages ago, it was nasty enough back then so it's kinda funny it's only being discovered now.
Idk I never really ran thana for the slowdown aspect itself, more to make survivors cleanse. Same with blood echo. DL was just to make the thana feel more urgent to get rid of, also it doesn't really buff the obsession so much. But I only ran Thana/DL before she had her default fountain and if you didn't use perks to force cleansing you might not get corrupted at all.
Anyway I still don't get why they buffed thana. All the other buffed slowdowns were previously perks no one ran, I saw plenty of thana pre-patch.

Just going to summarise my previous points. You shouldn't generalise the very vocal minority of survivors that are mindlessly complaining as 'survivors' in general. The developers will make changes, but it will not be based on mindless complaining that doesn't offer valid criticism that they can consider. We're only two weeks in to the game's biggest meta-breaking patch, so they're going to take their time for the game to settle instead of jumping the gun and making quick changes based on little actual data.
And please don't dismiss genuine criticism, such as in regards to easier camping/tunnelling and solo queue being harder due to needing QoL additions to catch up with killers. Especially under the pretense of 'you can't use DH anymore lol get good'. It's super annoying to see and is a common dismissal on the forums at the moment.
"Killers went crying to BHVR and now survivors literally can't escape"
"Survivors are just sad they can't press E to 'outplay' the killer anymore"
Yeah, both sides (some of them anyway) are being a bit tiresome atm

"If you want to cure the disease, you need to tackle its causes, not try to cover its symptoms."
^ this.
I honestly cannot blame people for DCing against Forever Legions or Plagues. Who wants to spend 20-30 minutes in a game and lose in the end anyway? It is just so boring to play those games out.
And those things need to be fixed. There will always be people who DC, this cannot be avoided. But the cause why people DC needs to be fixed.
Let alone that there will always be a way for players on both sides to just not play the game. At the very least, both sides can just go afk if they dont want to play, so you will also not have a game at this point.
We're not just talking about turboslowdown legion and plague though, people are DCing for being found first, going down first, for no obvious reason at all. Not just survivors, I broke a demo's haunted grounds yesterday and he dc'd when he couldn't find me. What realistic changes can be implemented to stop these outside of harsher penalties?
-
I did a few games tonight with BT, guardian, and no one left behind. Endurance and speed both seem to stack with the base effects, the ones I unhooked were running extremely fast
-
I'd appreciate a killer like that rn honestly, I've had some sweaty games tonight. Including a fog whisperer with a pretty horrible build.
Teammates killing themselves on hook is always worse tho

Dude, you ever see me make a whining thread about DH? I am not your DH hypocrisy check, you can take up that mantle and tell future whiners on the killer side to git gud.
They didn't get better either. There were tons of killers in low MMR because they refused to punish DH the best they could.
Low MMR is for slackers. There are tools for you to climb out of that pit. Use them.
Or don't, and continue to complain. I have told you that I play solo queue in the past, but my experience clearly differs significantly, both in expectation and outcome.
Honestly if you hit rock bottom survivor MMR, you're unlikely to get back out without SWF. Either frosty eyes finds you first and facecamps you after a 5 minute chase in which no gens were done, or finds another survivor who goes down instantly and DC's with 5 gens to go.
Giving you worse teammates and a worse killer only drops your chances of survival further.

The sound reduction on the new version of Iron Will is actually still effective. I was watching a survivor streamed game just last night for example where they were running Iron Will and intentionally hiding in bushes while injured while killers just walked right past them.
I doubt most of the people saying it's literally useless have even tried it post-patch.
-
Seems like a difficult thing to prove in any case.
-
It's a doc, how do you know they were doing it on purpose?
-
I man you have to be decent enough with M1 gameplay to get your first hit quickly enough and get a couple more as and when needed but if you're playing him properly you should be getting it pretty regularly afterwards (meaning without the current bug too). And Oni while in his power is probably the strongest thing in the game on the killer side, if he had it permanently he'd outclass nurse imo.
-
With the criteria you mentioned, I think huntress wins.
-
I would probably just assume you were tunnelling me regularly, but would be kinda amused if you pointed it out afterwards.

It's just a common strawman atm. Very, very few people are saying solo queue is fine. It's not fine, and never has been.
But apparently if you don't agree that it's pure misery comparable to a cold war Russian gulag, you're essentially saying it's perfect.
Honestly I think at this point it's either MMR hell (which I've experienced) or confirmation bias (which I'm also guilty of).
I think it was my 3rd or 4th solo match post-patch, I was hooked, a Steve came over to the unstarted gen right next to me and started working on it, only decided to try and save when the killer came back, got grabbed off and DC'd.
If I was apprehensive about the patch beforehand rather than optimistic I might've blamed it on the patch. Survivors already know they can't possibly win, so why even try? This would never happen in soloQ before. Except things like that always have been a part of solo.
And maybe I've done the same and discounted unfun elements of the patch because I wanted it to succeed, although there are parts I openly dislike about 6.1.0. I think even if I generally disliked it I'd be glad they're trying to introduce real changes.

I didnt accuse you of anything. I do have my doubts when I see people saying things like the ones I mentioned though.
You said I made a thread saying solo is fine, and unless I've recently suffered a head injury which caused me to both lose my memory and my opinions to become reversed, I have not.

If you didn't, you aren't part of the problem.
Its still a strange thing to accuse me of when I regularly say soloQ needs help even if my overall experience differs from yours

Where is your thread saying that solo q is fine and that survivor still op?
Okay, considering I haven't said either of those things in a comment, much less made a thread about it, I think I'm going to give up here.

Multiple killer mains and swf players disagreeing* fixed it for you.
And yes, I know they are since I do check post history.
Okay but I'm one of them, I play survivor more than killer, and I haven't played SWF in months, how does that make me a killer main or SWF-only player?
-
@Thusly_Boned said:

Yeah, the more solo survivor I play post patch and the more I read here (and how divergent my experience is from the complaints), the less charitable my opinions are becoming.
Agreed. At first I was more sympathetic, i.e. they just clearly have a different experience to me and it doesn't sound like a fun one. And I completely agree solo needs help, ideally sooner rather than later. But they discount other experiences and claim to speak for all solo survivors even when there's multiple others in the same thread disagreeing. Because those are just secretly killer mains or something.

@RisingTron said:
If It's Nurse, Legion, or Plague I just throw myself at them and move on. Not playing games against killers with 30 slowdowns just so they can have fun stomping a solo queue team.
Well I just like playing legion and plague so if you're on EU could you at least verify there's no thana before chewing through your ethernet cable?

Bro shut up,your nose's reaching the edge of universe from all this lying.
THERE'S no SURVIVOR here or in the game that says the update is good, only killers that are forced to play survivor because their queque are 15 or more minutes.
I play more survivor than killer, the patch is mostly good.
Survivors aren't a hivemind

I have definitely been getting tunneled and camped more. I dont really care though. If thats how they want to play, they can play like that. I usually just take it as- I looped them for so long that they are so pissed that they are okay with throwing the entire game to make sure I dont escape, and like half the time I still end up getting out, so thats why I think theres not much of a difference because it was also a common occurrence for me to get tunneled/facecamped before the update, its just a little easier for killers to do it now. Ngl, I feel special when a spirit is just standing there spam hitting me on hook bc I KNOW I got to her lmao.
I'm always happy to get a kebabing for running them well. Their beatings honour me

I'm not saying this about killer players, and don't take it like a personal attack. When I was playing, I played both sides. I just can't respect the killer as a role in this game anymore when it's just given kills by the developer. You are probably feeling like it's a personal attack because you too don't respect the killer role after this update. It's not really fair to you, to play killer and no longer feel like your skill is the deciding factor in games but instead your kills are fed to you by the developers. It's demeaning.
I mean I was playing a load of zero slowdown Sadako yesterday. You can't really believe that's a recipe for an ez 4k, patch or no patch
-
Sounds like it's finally time to hang up my weapons for good. I've played the killer role through good times and bad, but knowing I had your respect, OP, that saw me through everything. Without it there's little reason to carry on.
-
Had a couple of frustrating games last night as survivor, purely because they were 100% winnable and a teammate just let go on hook for no reason. No camping, no tunnelling, not a hated killer, no annoying perks, we weren't even losing, they just did it anyway.

What's even the point of that anymore?
Sometimes theres hooks in the library so if they spawn there the boil over gamers just look like fools
I have no idea. There wasn't a hook on the upstairs part, the route to the nearest hook was far enough that they'd get off with bodyblocking but once I saw the icon I put them back down. I had two of them slugged up there for a good while until the Leon gave up and crawled down to the hook. I gestured to the Ace and the Kate who I had on the lower level to drop down to the central area if they wanted to get it over with but they didn't so they bled out. If that's their victory condition more power to them I guess.
-
I had a boil over team bring an rpd offering tonight. I really don't get the appeal, it wasn't a fun match for me but it really wasn't a fun match for them either, I made sure of that.
I usually play very nicely but don't do that
-
Sprint burst is more common and it can be annoying, all the exhaustion perks can be annoying honestly but it's fine.
Honestly part of me was kinda worried when the prophets of doom were talking about how if they dare to nerf DH there'll be four sprint bursts every match, because if they were right that didn't sound like much fun either.
Luckily they weren't and I see a good variety now. Lithe is the most common, probably followed by sprint burst, but also dead hard, overcome, the occasional smash hit or head on. No balanced tho.

I haven't seen Self Care once since the update. My condolences to you if you still are.
My MMR must be dogshit on Onryō because I just got a Kate bringing tier 1 selfcare. She also dc'd at the start of the mori so her body disappeared and Sadako was just glaring at a flashlight on the ground. It was hilarious

Oh man, that is equal parts hilarious and tragic

How dare you all turn my beautiful thread into a self care argument 😭

Na. Only immature minds let something like clicking or tbagging or getting hit on hook effect them emotionally in any way.
Without rewatching it. I assume I played bad enough. And they played pretty damn good. That I probably lost 3 gens early. So at that point its decided. That I'm just going to get someone out as soon as I can and hope for a snowball.
Instead of what I normally aim for. Which is get my down in a reasonable amount of time and go away
At one point you got screwed a bit with weird collision in fairness

You clicked at him and asked for a chase. You got it. What are you complaining about?
the blight had already made the situation pretty clear, I don't think not clicking would make much difference.
In fact the blight is in this thread @BrokenSoul if the Jane hadn't clicked at you while you were chasing her would you have suddenly switched focus to someone else?

Doesn't solve the problem.
---
I played against a Blight earlier today running Compound Twenty-One and Adrenaline Vial with Deadlock, Dead Man's Switch, Pain Resonance & BBQ.
I was first chase, and it lasted a minute and a half.
I was tunneled off of first hook.
OTR helped me loop the killer for an additional 45 seconds.
DS bought me 3 seconds.
Dead Hard bought me another 30 seconds.
I was tunneled off of second hook.
I didn't have DS anymore and DH doesn't work in Deep Wound.
I died 5 minutes into the game.
3 Gens were done.
My team did gens the entire time I was in chase (they were very efficient).
I had every second-chance perk a survivor could ask for, and in my experience... Blight and I would have been considered evenly matched. We both made some good plays, we both made some mistakes, I'm pretty sure my chases are about the length BHVR would expect for an even match-up.
Aside from the fact that I'm tired of this boring gameplay loop game in and game out, it is clearly not balanced. This always ends in a 3/4k, because the killer can be carried by passive gen-regression/stalling perks, and the massive defecit survivors face with a 3v1. The "just do gens" argument is anecdotal at best, and should not be used as a counter-argument towards trying to make DBD more fun and engaging for all envolved.
P.S. If you want video evidence, you can watch back the trial from the killer's POV here:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1544576706?filter=archives&sort=time
It was the first match of his stream, and it starts 21min into the broadcast. No hard feelings towards this gentleman in particular--my beef is with camping/tunneling in general.
You played very well, those dead hards were on point.
Yeah, more does have to be done about tunnelling. I think it'll take more than good second chance perks or basekit defences, somehow spreading the pain has to be made the most effective path to winning, or the whole hook system needs to be reworked altogether.

No,friend, you might be from NA servers.
Here in European servers,if you go against a Russian Nurse, you'll start tearing your Tru3 posters and become an "entitled" survivor main.
It's sad DBD developers only listen to NA people, because they are Canadians ofc,and this leaves the game in an unbalanced state.
You simply cannot compare the NA killers with EU killers,it's like a kitten vs a white shark..
I actually lasted a while against my last Russian nurse. I was rewarded with a two minute battering on the hook and a wall of Cyrillic text in the postgame chat which I'm sure translated to "gg wp, I wish you good luck for your next game as well as health and happiness in general"
-
Agreed.
-
I hope that's a bug because I've wanted to try that combo. I don't like how previously only swf could get consistent use out of the FTP/soul guard synergy.
-
@Tsulan said:
I´ll never understand how survivors are against a perk, that gives the killer an incentive to leave the hook.
Do you want to get camped or not?
Personally I'm shocked and appalled by killers bringing 3 slowdowns and an aura perk instead of 4 slowdowns 😡
-
It made more sense previously tanking a hit with BT because switching to you carried a risk of eating a 5 second DS and getting nowhere.
If a killer isn't actively tunnelling you now, encouraging them to might not be the best play.
-
They didn't say BBQ was only meta because of the BP, they said they don't want a perk being ran every match as a way to reduce the grind.
Currently BBQ is still extremely good on a select few killers, decent enough on most although there's probably a better aura option for them, and fairly useless on a few of them.
-
Trapper is outdated. I'd give him an alternate kind of trap (like Freddy's options but both available) where you can put down a kind of nail bomb anywhere which gives a warning when set off and takes a health state of anyone caught in a the radius several seconds after (for anyone who plays siege, Thorn basically)
-
Goodbye, hope you find something you enjoy more
-
Ah yes, the genrusher with over 31k
-
I do lose more as survivor. I'd say as solo I'd previously escape about half the time and now it's more like 35-40%? I do like to do risky endgame saves though, it would probably be a bit higher without doing that.

Chicken Little was actually telling the truth about the sky falling though :p He just couldn’t prove it at first.
Not in the version of the story I heard as a kid. CL continues meeting other farm animals and convincing them that the sky is falling until they meet a fox who kindly offers to shelter them in his den, and once there kills and eats them all.
